The document investigates the corrosion inhibition efficacy of the surfactant n,n-dimethyl-n-(2-phenoxyethyl)dodecan-1-aminiumbromide (dpdab) on mild steel in 0.5M sulfuric acid. It was found that dpdab acts as a mixed type inhibitor whose efficiency increases with concentration and exhibits a maximum at 318K, adhering to Langmuir's adsorption isotherm. Various electrochemical techniques confirmed its effectiveness, highlighting its potential as a low-cost solution for protecting mild steel from corrosion.
