Similarities and Differences between Labor Organizations
Labor Organizations 1. Discuss the similarities and differences between at least three labor
organizations discussed in Chapter 3. The Knights of Labor was a standard labor union comprised of
individual workers across the nation. They were inclusive in terms, employing both skilled workers in
crafts industries as well as unskilled laborers such as coalminers. (Rayback, 1966, p. 168). They had
limited political objectives such as the eight hour workday and the prohibition of child and convict
labor. Their broader objectives were social: to improve the image and social status of the working
man. The AFL was not a labor organization, but a federation of affiliated labor unions. (Dubofsky
Foster, 2004, p. 138). The AFL was exclusive, accepting skilled workers in crafts industries and
skilled workers in industry. The AFL s goals were economic, they provided financial and political
support for affiliated labor unions in contract negotiations with employers. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p.
139). The political objectives they did pursue usually had to do with the nature of labor negotiations.
The IWW was neither a traditional labor union or a federation of labor unions, but a labor union
comprised with many members of other labor organizations. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p. 195). The
IWW was extremely inclusive, accepting most skilled and unskilled labor, most notably migrant
farmworkers. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p. 197). The IWW s goals were political, seeking to empower

Problem s Framing
The framing effect explains how a problem s phrasing can effect an individual s decision making.
When the problem asks if you would be willing to make a gamble where you have a 90% chance to
lose 5 dollars and a 10% chance to win 95 dollars, most people say they would not take the gamble
(which means they are risk adverse) because the problem states that you have a chance to lose 5
dollars, and this creates a psychological response in the participant because they naturally want to
avoid losses. Another problem asks if you would pay 5 dollars to participate in a lottery where you
have a 10% chance to win 100 dollars and a 90% chance to win nothing. Even though this problem
has the same utility maximization (same amount that can be won) as

Hitler s Single Party Dictatorship
Adolf Hitler s Single Party Dictatorship (Nazi Germany 1933 1945) Factors Leading to Hitler s
Consolidation to Power Adolf Hitler s rise to power in 1933 can be attributed to a series of
developments following Germany s defeat in World War I in 1918. Harsh terms imposed by the Treaty
of Versailles turned public opinions against the newly established Weimar Republic throughout the
1920s. The Weimar Republic, the democratic government established after Kaiser Wilhelm s
abdication of the throne, faced major public criticism and political instability. The German public
blamed the Weimer government for Germany s humiliation imposed by the Treaty of Versailles. Under
Versailles, Germany s military was limited to 100,000 troops, no air force, and ... Show more content

Immediately following Hitler s consolidation to power under the title of Chancellor, he quickly
changed the status quo under his regime with various political agendas. At the time of Hitler s
appointment to Chancellorship by President Hindenburg, Hitler and the Nazi party still lacked
majority representation in the German government. The Nazis only held three out of the eleven
cabinet posts, and only won 288 out of the 647 seats in the election of March 5, 1933. At the height of
Nazi representation, only 44% of the voting electorate supported the Nazi party. Thus, Hitler and his
Nazi party were dissatisfied with the general support of the party, and looked for alternative methods

My First Voyage Henry Hudson
I, Henry Hudson, have had a reputation for exploring new ways and directions. As an English
explorer, I have felt the need to find the Northwest Passage and seek everything and every visual in it.
It is the beginning of 1607, and I am about to start my first voyage after getting the job of attempting
to perceive a smaller path to the riches of Asia from Europe via Arctic Ocean. I have obtained high
hopes for my commitments, and I am certainly not going to give up. I am acquiring high hopes after a
fresh, educational start after graduating from Harvard, but I did have to be a cabin boy for many years
in my childhood, from when I was born in 1565. Hopefully, my life will get a bit easier to handle as I

I honestly think that it was part of the Lord s act, as I would encourage the crew to pray everyday.
Eventually, spring came along, and the ice cleared up. Even though everything was starting to
develop, the crew was in bad shape, vomiting and coughing spit all over the place. I had a conflict on
my hands. It was either me continuing the journey to find the passage, or turning back home for these
people to get help. I was leaning towards the continuing side, but my son was in bad shape, so I
hesitated for a long time. A few months later, in June of 1611, much of my crew had mutinied, and I
knew I was going to be swindled. As a matter of fact, much of my crew left by getting on the large
vessel. I sent my son with them, because I wanted him to live for a long time. After that event, I was
only left with seven others, and it would only take until the end of that year to run out of food, and the
water in the river was too cold to drink. Much of the water was ice, and we were really in a tight gap.
A month later, my focus came off of the crew and I dozed off and hit the floor of the ship, blacking out

Strategic Challenges And The Global Security Environment
The central problem discussed in this paper is to determine the general capabilities needed to
rebalance the Joint Force 2025 (JF25) considering the current strategic challenges and the global
security environment. This paper proposes that the JF25 focus on its competitive advantages and
curtail ineffective and expensive programs to preserve its ground forces capability to provide
deterrence and defeat capabilities critical to our National Strategic Objectives. To support this
position, this paper articulates the emerging threats to U.S. National Interests and highlights the key
strategic direction of published Department of Defense (DoD) strategy and strategic concepts.
Secondly, this proposal provides the broad capabilities that the JF25 must aggregate from each service
of the DoD. Finally, this paper articulates and mitigates the inherent risks to its proposed capabilities.
The emerging threats to U.S. National Interests are several. At the same time, sequestration magnifies
the criticality of miscalculated capability decisions. The persistent threat trends of 2025 include the
proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the rise of modern competitor states, violent extremism,
irregular warfare, regional instability, transnational criminal activity, competition for resources, and
lone actors. The National Military Strategy (NMS) of 2015 breaks down future threats into the
categories of revisionist states and violent extremist organizations, while recognizing the

For a shoujo series, Ao Haru Ride is surprisingly well structured based on its story. It has the look and

While the show doesn t characterize everyone at the same level, it s interesting to see how their lives

Components of a Quest Novel in True Grit by Charles Portis
What kind of components are in a quest novel? There is a quest hero, the wise old man, a helper or
guide, a call, and many more. Charles Portis applies these components to many of his characters in his
novel True Grit. There is stubborn, fourteen year old Mattie Ross, the quest hero, Marshal Rooster
Cogburn, the wise old man, and a conceited Texas ranger named LaBoeuf, the helper/guide.
Throughout this novel, they prove that they are the characters of a quest novel in many ways.
A quest hero is someone who has the courage to try, and stay determined. Another aspect of a quest
hero is that they have a call, an impulse, or a summon, that sends them on a journey. Mattie Ross
represents the quest hero in this novel. For example, as Mattie realizes nothing is being done about
Tom Chaney on the loose, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She states Nobody here
knew my father and I am afraid nothing much is going to be done about it except I do it myself (65).
The fact that no one is chasing her father s murderer, is her call. If there are ten marshals out looking
for Chaney, Mattie would have been satisfied, and gone home without embarking on this journey.
Since he is still on the loose, she wants to go and find him herself, proving that this is her call. Another
way Mattie shows she is the quest hero is she is determined. For instance, even though she is told that
she is not to go on the expedition, she stays steadfast. Mattie says I aim to get Tom Chaney and if

Adoption Vs Foster Care Adoption
Attachment and Adoption: Institutionalized vs. Foster care adoptions, and CPS interventions
When looking at adoption there is a large variety of studies that can be done with adoptive children
and their development. How does the child attach to his or her adoptive parents? How does the child
view themselves in regards to a family unit when siblings are involved? How do the parents view the
child s placement in the family after a certain period of time has passed? All of these variables can be
observed in study after study. But for sake of this paper, we are going to take a look at what
researchers found in Romanian orphanages and how these children connected and attached with their
adoptive mothers and parents. We will also look at a study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In the case we are asked to look at with the two little girls, the office was alerted due to neglect and
issues of locking the children away in order to not have contact with them and avoid physical
discipline. Again having a large amount of experience with this personally I can speak on several
different instances in which the agency needs to be involved. My middle son, again who is not my
biological child, has 4, soon to be 6 other half siblings by his biological mother. None of which she
has custody of. They have all been removed by CPS. In her case it was for the use of narcotics, in and
around the children as well as during pregnancy with 4 of the 6 children she has. She is currently
pregnant with number 5 and 6 of her living children though technically they are 9 and 10. She has
previously had two singleton abortions and an abortion of a set of twin girls. She has had 4 other boys
removed now, ages 5, 3, and a set of twin boys who are 18 months. CPS has already stated that the
children she is pregnant with now will be removed as well upon their birth. So in a case such as hers,
she was given a year to prove to the courts that she wanted to work towards keeping her twins, they
set up visitation for her at the cps office, as well as classes for her to attend, weekly drug screens,
parenting classes, and set financial goals she had to meet.

Basic Aspects Of Standards Research
Introduction
This paper will discuss various aspects of standards research. First, it will select one of the working
groups in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) or Institute of Electrical and Electronics
Engineers (IEEE), and thoroughly summarize what this group is working on. Next, this paper will
justify the need of the IEEE 802 standard used in networking. Also, it will evaluate the three standard
organizations including IEEE, ISO, and ANSI to determine the most important for communication
technology. Finally, this paper will describe the author s position on the need for a Federal regulating
body of standards such as NIST.

Clearly, the OPSAWG focuses on the operations side of the house, and would be the most logical
working group to submit a request for review of an operational guideline.
Specifically, the focus of this WG is on topics that manage the behavior of other working groups in the
O M area (e.g., manageability requirements). Equally important, it focuses on small, highly focused
projects that do not warrant a separate working group, or belong to ones that have already concluded
(e.g. advancement of documents on the standards track, application statements, extensions of MIB
modules). (Operations and management area working group, n.d., para 3).
IEEE 802
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) decided that there was a significant need
for a set of rules or standards for data to travel from one computer to another. Essentially, it decided to
standardize these methods for data packets transfers by implementing a set of rules and regulations
called IEEE 802 standards. Consequently, these standards help the industry by providing advantages
such as low product cost, interoperability, and easy to manage standards, divided into many parts.
Interestingly, these standard parts include everything from cabling to network standards. Of note,
these IEEE standards affect only Local Area Networks (LAN) and Metropolitan Area Networks

Acts 7:58 59 reads, When they had driven him out of the city, they began stoning him; and the
witnesses laid aside their robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. They went on stoning Stephen
as he called on the Lord and said, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit! Saul, later named Paul, admittedly
confesses he consented and was present when Stephen was murdered. Saul was deceived by Satan,
and blinded by his zeal to stand solely on the Torah. Saul admits that his conscience continually
badgered him in reference to his behavior and actions. We see this in Acts 26:14 which reads, And
when we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew dialect, Saul, Saul,
why are you persecuting Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads. Every Christian can see hope
in the conversion of Saul. First because anyone, no matter how sinful, can be converted and changed.
Secondly, there is hope that God will never leave persecuted Christians, and He will use every
situation to fulfill his will.
Saul s Encounter with Christ
Saul was traveling near Damascus on his way to persecute and possibly kill more Christians. He had
no idea that he was moments away from conversion into the Gospel of Christ for which he currently
hated. His conversion is brought upon by a bright light, a voice from heaven, and sudden blindness.
Acts 9:3 reads, As he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus,

Labor Relations Paper
A union is an organization of workers who join together in order to have a voice in improving their
jobs and the quality of work within the organization. In many occasions, unions help employees of an
organization negotiate pay, benefits, flexible hours and other work conditions that may arise. Unions
have a role because some degree of conflict is inevitable between workers and management (Noe,
2003). In this paper, I will be discussing the impact of unions and labor relations within an
organization. Labor Unions Labor unions represent workers interests and the collective bargaining

A union steward is actually an employee of the organization that is elected by the union members to
represent them and investigate complaints and help them file grievances if an employee feels that
his/her union contract was violated in any way. Union stewards will fight to avoid disciplinary action
for the employee s behavior. Union officials and union stewards are voted in by the union members.
One disadvantage of being part of a union is that the employee must pay to be represented by the
union. Different unions have different pay rates. At Kaiser Permanente employees need to contribute
2% percent of his/her annual pay to the union. Union fees are usually withdrawn from the employee s
paycheck on a bi weekly basis. Labor Relations Labor relations purpose is to minimize costly
employee and organization conflicts and try to always find a win win solution to issues that arise.
Labor relations strategies, negotiating contracts and administering contracts are the three levels of

This may not be a positive thing for the prisoner as it could lead to attacks however it is done in order
of the safety of individuals especially those who may live near or be close to the criminal. However
when you give these criminals a label they will find it hard to get rid if it. They may be free from
crime for a number of years but when they have certain labels given to them they may never be truly
free from the crime they have committed. This can happen to the likes of sex offenders. Once they
have committed the crime they are then put onto the Sex Offenders List and therefore this may prevent
them from reoffending. Another way to label criminals is by doing community service. Those
criminals who take part in community service often have to wear high visibility vests which often
make them stand out to other people.
The Prevention of crime had two key elements. The first key element according to Hughes and
Edwards (2005) was primary situational crime prevention. This element is where crime prevention
technologies are installed in both private and public spaces. The second element is the social crime
prevention. This key element is used to changed the minds of criminals and focuses on many different
development schemes such as rehabilitation scheme which is used to help stop the offender from

Electrical Safety in the Perioperative Environment
Electrical Safety in the Perioperative Environment
There are numerous ways electricity is employed in the operating room environment, such as X ray
machines, electrosurgical units, monitors, surgical table and lights, endoscopic cameras and monitors,

Negative Effects Of Korea
From 1910 to 1945, when Japan surrendered after its defeat in World War II, Korea was a colony of
Japan during Japan s pursuit towards domination of Asia. Japan s intent was to erase the Korean
national identity. According to a BBC World Service Poll conducted in 2014, 79% of South Koreans
view Japan s influence negatively, and 15% express a positive view, making South Korea, behind
China, the second country with the most negative feelings of Japan in the world. Among many of the
hardships and humiliations suffered by Koreans during this period, Japan s occupation in Korea
affected their education, communications, culture, government, and women negativity. First off,
Korean education was negatively affected by the Japanese colonization. Before Japan s colonization,
Korea s education system was swiftly improving. Education had been important in Korea since the
14th century. In 1907, missionaries ran 508 primary schools and 22 high schools. Japan s colonization
destroyed much of this system. By 1917, the number of schools run by missionaries was halved and
by 1937 only 34 remained. In 1939, the Japanese governor instructed that students should speak in
Japanese and not be allowed to speak Korean inside or outside of school. Also, Korean families were
forced to change their names to Japanese names and if they refused, they were prohibited from
enrolling in school, thus 84% of Korean families changed their names by 1940. This made learning

Emotional Intelligence And Organizational Leadership
Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Leadership
Various authors have been debating the issue of emotional intelligence and organizational leadership.
However, the existing discourse on the matter has been hampered in terms of limited theoretical
applications. Moreover, many analysts have failed to propose effective relationships among
constructs, thus failing to offer any meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and
organizational leadership. Nevertheless, many authors offer a candid evaluation of the issue in terms
of discussing empirical data although few of them create a relationship between organizational
leadership and emotional intelligence. By considering the work of Dabke (2014) for instance, the
author is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This assertion makes his studies inconsistent. By recommending further study in the analysis of
emotional intelligence, the author contracts his empirical result. The results indicated that participants
believe that organizational leaders can use emotional intelligence for recruiting staff. Lack of theories
in this work also makes it deficient. Al Noor s work gives a detailed discussion of leadership styles in
relationship to emotional intelligence. The author decided to consider gender differences in the way
leaders manage their organizations. By discussing transactional and leadership styles about emotional
intelligence, this work can illustrate how female leaders score higher when it comes to emotional
mentoring (Noor, 2011). The author s work gives a more meaningful discussion of the relationship
between emotional intelligence and organizational leadership. Moreover, he presents a better
theoretical basis for his ideas. He uses contingency theory as well as situational ethics in his analysis.
The author is quite consistent in his analysis and avoids overdependence on empirical data even as he
forms his opinion on the issue. Most of the works in this analysis focused on discussing research
findings. The decision of the author to combine empirical research and scholarly review distinguishes
his work from others that discuss the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational
leadership.

The Significance Of Women During Colonial America
The Significance of Women During Colonial America Life during colonial America was bleak; in
many colonies such as Jamestown or Plymouth, from fewer than 150 people, a new community an
ocean away from their old homes had to be created. Factors like agriculture, shelter, and economy
were no exception to the long list of necessary things that needed to be developed. At first, the
colonial people continued to abide by the same customs that they had back in Europe. As time passed,
though, they began to have a different approach. One of the norms in Europe was that women were to
stay inside the house to attend to housework and to take care of their children. However, in colonial
America, that wasn t the only thing expected from women; the role of women changed drastically.
Despite it being considered improper in Europe for women to work outdoors or tend to businesses like
men, colonial women joined men outside with tasks ranging from agricultural duties to handling
business affairs (Bjornlund 24). Consequently, colonial American women played a critical role in the

Isidore Story
Saint Report
Hi, I m Clayton Stuhrenberg! I am a junior at Palacios High School and am going to talk about Saint
Isidore. I chose this saint because he kinda reminds me of myself. But first, you need to know his
story. This is Isidore s life story.
Isidore was actually born into a family made up of saints that lived during the sixth century in Spain.
Both of his brothers, Leander and Fulgentius and his sister, Florentina, are all recognized as saints in
Spain. It was also a family of pioneers and they had a ton of determination, with his strong and great
brothers serving as bishops. On the other hand, the sister was an abbess.
Because of the high standards set and other reasons, life was not easy for Isidore. On the contrary, his

He would end up working side by side with his brother and after Leander s death, Isidore would
complete many of the projects that his brother began including a missal and breviary.
Isidore was able to separate the abusive way he was taught from the joy of learning. He didn t avoid
learning after what his brother did but embraced education and worked out any problems he had.
Isidore moved past his past and became known as, The best teacher is Spain. .
His absolute love of learning leads him to promote the creation of a seminary in every diocese of
Spain. He wanted to make sure that everyone had access to a place where they could learn.
Furthermore, he made sure that all branches of knowledge, even including the arts and medicine, were
taught in these seminaries.
His encyclopedia of knowledge or the Etymologies was a popular textbook for about a period of nine
centuries. He also had written books about grammar, astronomy, and geography, as well as theology.
At the point when the Arabs took the investigation of Aristotle back to Europe, this was just the same
old thing new to Spain on the grounds that Isidore s receptive outlook had as of now reintroduced the

Representations of Romantic Love in Poetry Across the Periods
Romantic love has been the subject of endless contemplation for poets of all periods. Intangible and
complex, love is the highest manifestation of humanity. No topic in poetry has received more attention
than romantic love. Conversely, the ultimate expression of love is through poetry. In each poetic
period, the representation of romantic love has been informed by the social and cultural values of the
time. Thus, across time, attitudes towards romantic love have shifted with changing values and beliefs.
Sonnet 130 by William Shakespeare from the Elizabethan period, Valediction: Forbidding Mourning
by John Donne from the metaphysical period, and Lullaby by W.H. Auden from the modern period are
three poems that clearly reflect the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
John Donne s A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning exemplifies the representation of love in
metaphysical poetry.
A Valediction: Forbidding Mourning is one of Donne s later poems, and reflects his reputation as the
greatest poet of the metaphysical period. It was written to his wife Anne before he left for a long trip.
The poem begins quietly, at the passing away of a virtuous man . Donne movingly uses this imagery
to suggest that the parting of lovers is like death. Yet, when love is virtuous, lovers should part with
quiet dignity, and with no teare floods, nor sigh tempests move . Donne distinguishes their love from
the purely sensual love of the common people, which cannot admit/ Absence, because it doth remove/
Those things which elemented it . Their love is the union of their minds and souls, and therefore,
cannot be broken by physical separation. Donne draws on his vast knowledge of astronomy, alchemy,
and mathematics to create three unlikely, yet poignant conceits to support this argument. The lovers
are likened to the planetary bodies, who are sustained in their own universe and are not affected by the
disasters caused by the moving of th earth . This elevates their love above the ordinary harmes and
feares of superficial love. Secondly, their love is compared to refined gold, pure, noble and when
stretched apart, endure not yet/ A breach, but an expansion . The compass is Donne s most

Benefits Of Using Abdominal Subcutaneous Tissue And...
Ideally biopsies of abdominal subcutaneous tissue and salivary glands should be used for the Congo
red staining test, and it is positive if the sample has apple green birefringence in appearance under
polarized light. If the sample was inconclusive or negative, then the provider should have the affected
organ biopsied to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The reason one should investigate for amyloid
deposits via more invasive biopsy techniques is due to the higher risk of mortality associated with
misdiagnosis and delayed or lack of treatment. If renal biopsies are warranted, sufficient amounts of
amyloid deposits can be found around the glomerular basement membranes. Urine testing for
paraprotein is not specific enough for the diagnosis of AL, for many gammopathies present with this
in the urine. Once biopsies are positive, then the amyloid deposits should be tested via
immunofluorescence microscopy to obtain valuable information regarding its makeup.
Immunohistochemistry can be used as well, but it is not as successful in providing compositional
information for AL as immunofluorescence. AL should be differentiated from the other forms of
amyloidosis, such as hereditary amyloidosis, inflammatory amyloidosis, and hemodialysis related
amyloidosis. Randall type light chain deposition disease (LCDD) should also be included in the
differential (Desport et al., 2012).

Tribulation In Frederic Douglas s What To The Slave
To be an American To be an American means that one is free. It is the land where man has all
opportunities. America is the land where anyone can escape from their homeland s conditions.
America is home to a people of all cultures and ethnicities. America is the place where one can be him

tribulations. Some tribulations include captivity and oppression. America is the land of opportunity
and everyone comes to take advantage of finding new work. Crèvecoeur categorizes American society
as the most perfect. In America, there exists no large gap between the rich and the poor. It is the land
where everyone lives comfortably. According to Crèvecoeur, an American is one who has given up the

Some tribulations or forms of adversity include oppression, injustice, war, and captivity. In Frederic
Douglass s What to the Slave is the Fourth of July, he asks a rhetorical question concerning political
freedom and natural justice. Douglass then adds that the celebration of the fourth of July is the
anniversary of the white man s freedom, but not the black man s freedom. He states, Your 4th of July
is a sham; your boasted liberty, an unholy license. Douglass implies that those who were pro slavery
insisted on being in favor of a condition that they would not wish for themselves. According to
Douglass, America is false. Although America promises freedom, it does not grant all human beings
that right. In comparison to American society, he also asserts that the Declaration of Independence
states, All men are created equal, but it creates a class system of inferiority and superiority. In addition

Nazi Art
Art is a subjective medium of expression. Based on each person s experiences, beliefs, and feelings
they will create and also interpret art in different ways. Usually this will lead to a healthy discussion
on the differences of the interpretation of each individual. This was not the case when the Nazi s had
power in Germany and they used their power to shape art in their country to what they deemed to be
acceptable and exiled art they deemed unacceptable or not fitting their belief system. This would
change the art direction of Germany from a more expressive style to a more conservative style that fit
the Nazi party s beliefs and how they wish to run the country.

painting that does not take its form from the observed world. In 1914 World War I forced Kandinsky
to return to Russia, and shortly afterwards a new phase of his career began. This was not unusual for
art in the time period of World War I. Looking at the art style of Der Blaue Reiter up to the year 1914,
We can see that the individuals involved were not held together by common stylistic principles but
rather constituted a loose association of young artist who were enthusiastic about new experiments an

Developmental Differences Between Myself And Jake Chastain
Developmental Differences Human development will continue to accumulate from the time we are
conceived until the day we die. During our lifespan we each change neurologically, structurally, and
physiologically, and we each develop at our own pace. Our recent lab, Spring Olympics, tracked
physical competency between myself and Jake Chastain. The results are evidentiary of our
developmental differences. Herein, we will consider the shuttle run, heavy throw, rope jump, birdie

contributed to our competition results. Initially, we participated in the shuttle run, running as fast as

Also, Jake s muscular frame gave him a strength advantage, so he dominated with nature and nurture.
Thirdly, we measured how many times we could jump rope within two minutes. I honestly thought I
would dominate in this event. My dance background was sure to make me more flexible than Jake,
and I thought my motor skills might be superior to his. However, Jake had boxing training which
included speed rope jumping and muscular development of his calf muscles. My dance background
had taught me slow graceful leaps while his training was in speed. Consequently, his reflex inhibition
kicked in and he jumped almost twenty five more times per minute than I jumped. Again, this defeat is
attributable to environmental factors, because Jake s jump rope practice gave him a formidable
advantage. Our next event incorporated striking a birdie over our heads with a racquet to see how far
we could propel it using our dominant hand and our non dominant hand. Birdie Bash tested our
muscular development, needed to apply force to our strikes, and neurological development,
demonstrated when we used our non dominant hands. It also included lunging, hitting, and hand to eye

different country by trains, such as Euro star which operates UK to France. This shows that you can
travel to some certain countries by train; it is cheaper than other ports and inbound and outbound
tourist would use euro stars. There are city trains such as virgin trains (http://www.virgintrains.co.uk/)
which link London to other major cities such as Manchester and Birmingham; the cost depends on the
destination. This train would be mostly used by domestic tourist. On the other hand, there re London
underground (http://www.tfl.gov.uk/) which operates London to different and larger parts of London
such as Northolt, leisure square, Oxford Street, Marbella arch, Luton, Modern, Croydon etc. however
it can be very busy in some times due to the works times and etc. inbound and domestic tourists would

of Buena Vista. They only served to go orders and had a small client list for catering. After the first
three years of business the customers had come too really like the food. It was real homemade food
one of the few establishments that was able to create homemade food for a reasonable price. Nearly a
year ago, they decided to get a bigger place and not just take to go orders. They made the restaurant
feel like the customer was walking into their own home. For example, their plates are not the same.
Most restaurants have the same looking plates but not T N T. They also make an effort to get to know

T N T was founded four years ago by Trina and Tracey (names they preferred to have used) whom
have been in the food industry for quite some time. They both had grown up in and around the food

and provide home cooked meals that satisfy and satiate the customer. T N T s goal starting up was to
do what they love, which just so happened to be cooking good quality food that one could pick up to

In modern aviation, pilot fatigue has become a vital problem that needs urgent intervention. The full
effect of fatigue is frequently unforeseen however, many of its harmful effects have been known for a
long time. When comparing with individuals who usually have enough rest, individuals who suffer
from fatigue act slowly, have difficulties in memory, and are involved in many mistakes. In addition,
the negative impact can or may lead to aviation accidents and errors (Caldwell, Mallis, Caldwell, Paul,
Miller, Neri, 2009).
Some of the negative effects that contribute to airplane accidents are related to fatigue. Associated
mainly with long flights, irregular work schedules performed by pilots may lead to incidences such as
menstrual irregularities, stomach problems, weight gain, cardiovascular problems, and cold flu.
Unfortunately, there are attempts to provide limitation on flight time and scheduling provisions to
pilots. Moreover, accident surveys and aviation studies all indicate that fatigue is an emerging hazard
and a major concern in airline industries around the world. Long flying pilots often attribute the cause
of their fatigue to circadian disturbances and sleep deprivation, which is as a result of time zone
transitions. While short flying pilots attribute their fatigue on workload and sleep

Key Features Of The Public Expenditure Structure In Cambodia
Public expenditure structure in Cambodia
Key Features of the expenditure system
The expenditure system in Cambodia has three main features. It s important to emphasize that more
information is needed to be certain about whether the following expenditure trends continue today.
First, the country has been running a deficit for a long time due to higher growth rate of expenditures
than revenues. Second, the country has dropped significantly their investment in rural development
and agriculture, which affects the country s growth because it s overwhelmingly rural. Lastly, the
transport expenditures have also decreased substantially. If the country had better transport
infrastructure, the government could raise their revenues that come from public services. Additionally,
without proper transport infrastructure there is a loss of potential tourism destinations, and reduced
competitiveness in market accessibility due to high access costs to commodities.
Budget Deficit
Cambodia budget s deficit has remained relatively flat between 2000 and 2017 (estimated). In 2000,
the deficit was 4.8% of GDP and in 2017 the deficit is estimated to be 4.5% of GDP, excluding grants.
The country s expenditures have grown at faster rate than its revenues. In the year 2000, Cambodia
expenditures represented 15% of GDP while the estimation for the year 2017 is 22% of GDP, 7
percentage points more than in 2000.

Feudalism In Romantic Poetry
A dictum from Heraclitus may illustrate the origin of romantic poetry, when we are awake we have a
world in common, but when we are asleep each has his own world (Quoted by O Connell 35). As
conceived from the innermost being, romantic poems have a close relationship with dream. However,
as the definitions and characteristics are controversial, some critics oppose to use the term
Romanticism . For instance, Arthur Lovejoy criticizes that Romanticism is an obscure norm when
defined by associating the nature and emotion as even Plato can be regarded as a pioneer in romantic
poetry according to this definition (Lovejoy 230). However, romantic poetry cannot be defined with a
linguistic entitle without considering the historical process (Wellek 2) for it appeared in a specific
period after the revolution in France and the Enlightenment, when the awareness of rationalism started
to spreed. Romantic poetry is a genre which is used by poets to transcend ... Show more content on

symbolism is applied in romantic poems to analyze the humanity and scorn the

Most libertarians support a reduction of traditional and religious power while at the same time usually

usually unconcerned about the power of corporations and tend to support measures that result in the
government having less control over corporations and the economy. A few libertarians also favor
general reductions to entitlement and benefit programs. Moderates are those who while still clearly on
the right wing of politics, tend to be closer to the center in there opinions and more willing to

militarism are usually found on the right wing of politics. The number of pure militarists is usually

Essay on Time Value Of Money
Time Value of Money
The time value of money serves as the foundation of finance. The fact that a dollar today is worth
more than a dollar in the future is the basis for investments and business growth. The future value of a
dollar is based on the present dollar amount, interest rate and time period involved. Financial
calculators and tables can assist in computing the future and present values, which eases the pain of
the mathematically challenged. Yield or rate of return can also be calculated.
One financial application of the time value of money is buying or selling a house mortgage note.
Although normally handled by financial institutions, individuals can use this as an investment

The MBA graduate will add to this calculation the opportunity cost which D. Henderson points out is
redundant in word use, but an invaluable concept to the financial world. The true cost of something is
what you give up to get it. as contract lawyers and airplane pilots know, redundancy can be a virtue.
In this case, its virtue is to remind us that the cost of using a resource arises from the value of what it
could be used for instead. (2002).
In the above example, if the consumer was to buy a less expensive car, or finance less of the car price,
the funds not being used for car payments could be invested for a higher yield. The table (See
Amortization Table 1) in the text demonstrates how part of the loan payment is applied towards the
principle and rest goes towards reducing the principle amount (Block, Hirt, 2005).
The main learning of the amortization table is that the owner will pay slightly more in interest costs
(41,000) as he did for the loan of 40,000. So the car that was priced at 40,000 actually ended up
costing the owner 81,000. The amount paid is compounded if the owner takes into consideration the
money that could have been earned if part of those funds had been invested. At a return rate of 8%, if
the buyer had purchased a less expense car at 30,000 and invested 500 per year over 20 years, he

The Symposium By Plato Analysis
In Plato s, The Symposium, there are a multitude of things that get discussed amongst the group of
men, one of those theories being the idea of beauty. To truly understand what Plato thinks about
beauty, you have to understand his idea of forms, and the Form of Beauty. He describes this as an
everlasting loveliness which never comes nor goes, which neither flowers nor fades . The essence to
understanding this form, is that we can realize all beautiful things share the Form of Beauty. But only
in their involvement with this form that they become beautiful. It is an unchanging, absolute, and
immortal form that cannot admit to anything less. The form itself is not ugly or offensive, or it would
cease to exist in the form . This idea is brought forth in The Symposium when Socrates is talking
about his encounter with Diotima and her story of the Ladder of Love . This story gives us an
understanding of how we should love and what it means to be truly beautiful. Diotima shares with
Socrates the process by which one can aquire these final visions , and then they are explained to us.
One begins as a young person by being attracted to beautiful bodies, and to one beautiful body in
particular. This produces beautiful discourses with this body. Which does not necessarily mean sexual
acts. A person could be attracted to another just because their physical body is beautiful. The next

and Airline companies use VPNs to enable their employees, contractors and partners to get access to
data from the central office no matter their location. The hardware VPN is a virtual private network
based on a single, stand alone device which provides remote offices or individual users with secure
access to their organization s network by using the shared public telecommunications infrastructure
and standard security measures. Barracuda SSL VPN appears to be the one that can fulfill these
requirements. In this essay I am going to present VPN connections, advantages and disadvantages of
the Barracuda SSL VPN, security provided by the Barracuda SSL VPN hardware, and his features.
Virtual Private Network is a way to communicate securely with a company or corporate servers from
long distance at public network. It is an important source of transmitting important data across the
web. VPN technologies implement restricted access networks that utilize the same cabling and routers
as a public network, and they do so without sacrificing features of basic security. A VPN

Compare And Contrast Grapes Of Wrath And The Farmer s Wife
Grapes of Wrath vs. The Farmer s Wife by Anne Sexton
The, movie Grapes of Wrath and poem The Farmer s Wife contrast to each other in many ways.
Although there are many differences, it s important to point out the similarities of these works of arts
to truly understand these pieces. There s an underlying theme in Grapes of Wrath and The Farmer s
Wife that will help understand how the fictional characters are feeling. By removing the context
around these sources, it will be easy to see where the similarities are and how two completely different
sources can relate to each other. Grapes of Wrath was published in the 1940 s, but it was actually
about a time in the 1930 s placed in Oklahoma. During the 30 s people were dealing with the great
depression as portrayed in the movie. In Oklahoma, people were also dealing the Dust Bowl, which
ruined their land s ability to grow any food. Due to this issue, the family in the movie was kicked out
of the home they lived in for decades. When they got kicked out they drove all the way to California
for new job opportunities. The main character, Tom Joad, who is the eldest son in the family, takes the
responsibility of taking care of his family and keeping them safe since his parents are older and are
already taking care of their own parents. In the movie, they moved to California for a place to live and
for money to buy food so they could keep surviving. From having everything to nothing put a huge
strain on the family. They had to travel

Montessori vs. Traditional Education Essay
Education is very important especially in this day and age. What school one attends and how they
perceive school to be is a huge factor in one s life success. There has been research done in the past
few years proving that students who receive a Montessori education will prosper academically more
so than those who receive a traditional education (Ryniker and Shoho, 2001). Traditional schools
typically follow teacher based philosophies and the Montessori education is student centered. On
average, children enjoy student based philosophy classrooms. Therefore, they are much more in tuned
to what they are learning and that benefits their educational career. Having fun while learning is the
key to keeping children engaged.

Many people think of it as controlled chaos (Kramer, 1976). Montessori resources are divided into
four categories: practical life, sensorial, academic and cultural/artistic supplies (Scotty, 2009).
Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, City University of New York academic researchers conducted
research about success rates of public Montessori students (Schapiro, 2002). The research conducted
proves the children who attend Montessori public schools are better in certain subjects (Schapiro,
2002). Montessori is also very beneficial to children with dyslexia, because they use phonics to teach.
Attending a Montessori school is also an educational advantage for children because they have the
opportunity to start as early as the age of three (Schapiro, 2002).
According to the study conducted by Alan Gartner and Dorothy Lipsky, research was found that
students who attended a Montessori public school did significantly better in math and social studies.
Their overall GPA was not significantly higher than others but males received higher scores in science,
while females received higher scores in math, compared to other students who did not attend a
Montessori school (Schapiro, 2002). Montessori graduates also received higher scores overall on the
ACT mathematics test, but lower on the ACT reading test (Schapiro, 2002). Montessori students also
tend to fail fewer classes and take more honors and advanced

An Analysis of Nonviolent Resistance
An Analysis of Nonviolent Resistance The Nonviolent Resistance written by Martin Luther King Jr.
shows the three ways people use to deal with oppression. The first one is acquiescence, which merely
increases the oppressor s contempt. The second way is violence, which merely creates new and more
problems. And the third way is nonviolent resistance, which is the way to guide Negro to harmonic
race relations. Because nonviolent resistance reconciles the acquiescence and violence, it makes
Negro remain in South and struggle for both rights and equality, it helps Negro to achieve the goal of
integration, it mitigates the fears of the white and it reaches people more than the law. Finally,
nonviolent resistance is worthy of being ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They would rather bear those ills they have, as Shakespeare pointed out, than flee to others that they
know not of (King 510) serves as a fitting example. Besides, Because of author s Christian
background, he uses biblical references, such as Almost 2800 years ago Moses set out to lead the
children of Israel from the slavery of Egypt to the freedom of the promised land (King 510), and
Religion reminds every man that he is his brother s keeper (King 510). The author uses biblical
approach to touch his audience, and audience may feel that they have the same faith with the author
and the audience is sure to get evolved. What s more, the author considers Christian as a morally
approach because the audience not only includes black people but also their enemy white people. The
nonviolent resister agrees with the person who acquiesces that one should not be physically aggressive
toward his opponent (King 511) and The job of the Negro is to show them that they have nothing to
fear, Negro understands and forgives and is ready to forget the past (King 512). He indicates these
only to show that he loves his enemy .White people don t need to fear because black people will not
look back to the disaster history and all they will do is just moving on. So if he fails to touch the
audience by his logic, he can still reach them by morally approach. In the third place, the author tries
to get support from emotional approach. He uses four rather

Positive And Negative Effects Of The Industrial Age
Harsh. Unsafe. Dangerous. These are all terms to describe factories around a decade and a half ago.
This was during a time known as the Industrial Age. The Industrial Age, characterized by its advances
in technology and increase in urbanization, started in England in the late 1700s and spread to America
by the mid 1800s. The changes brought on by the Industrial Age affected the US both positively and
negatively. Workers were affected negatively. They had to work in the harsh conditions of the factories
where they were overworked and put into dangerous environments. These conditions, however, led
labour laws being put into place, changing the US for the better The people working in factories were
affected negatively negatively by the Industrial Age. Early factory workers would have workdays up
to 14 hours long (Farr). While this was around the same length as a preindustrial workday, the amount
of work done within that time changed. Preindustrial workers worked in bursts of energy. Factory
workers, on the other hand, had to work nonstop in order to meet demands. A worker as young as 10
years old could have a 16 hour work day with only one break (Doc 1). Even when machines broke and
production stopped, workers had to stay in the factory, though these unscheduled breaks were often
used for relaxation. These long work days were tiring for adults, but even worst for child workers.
Children as young as 6 years old were hired as factory workers. They crawled under machines to

Significance Of Blue Monday
IT WAS A BLUE MONDAY INDEED
Blue Monday is a song that prophesied the future at that time; 1983, and it had mixed reviews from
one and all. The movie 24 Hour Party People pointed out that Blue Monday is perpetually the best
selling 12inch single in Britain, at 1.16 million copies sold there; and the world, at 3 million copies
sold worldwide (a claim which is difficult to verify), which accounts the rise of Factory records. And
unfortunately, due to Factory Records not being a part of the British Phonographic Industry at the time
of Blue Monday s original release, it could not be eligible for an official gold disc.
The packaging of the record had been done by former label partner and renowned graphic designer,
Peter Saville. He designed a black die cut sleeve that resembled a five inch computer floppy ... Show

It was a pinnacle in its time and it changed the landscape of music as it was and as it would be.
The song is broadly viewed as a critical connection between Seventies disco and the Dance/House
music boom that took off towards the end of the Eighties. Kick starting the UK dance scene it had a
huge role in opening the pathway of dance music to a new and wide crowd of people.
New order were one of the few bands to credibly fuse punk and disco being an proponent of
Electroclash . Synthpop had been a noteworthy power in British famous music for quite a while,
however Blue Monday was ostensibly the first British dance record to show an incontestable impact
from the New York club scene, principally the work of makers like Arthur Baker (Ohlsson,M 2008).
This inspiration of the New York disco clubs coupled with their industrial surroundings resulted in a
sound that in turn would influence Detroit DJs and many other British groups. Consequently, Blue
Monday is regularly seen as a standout amongst the most essential hybrid tracks of the 1980s popular

Essay about Gradual and Sudden Anxiety
People s anxiety levels will be tested through their heart rates. The resting heart rate of 30 people will
be taken, and then the test group will be split in half. The first 15 subjects are going to be told that
they are going to watch a scary video. And for the last 15 we will not tell the subjects anything that
will happen in the video. A series of health questions that have nothing to do with our project will be
asked. The goal of this project is to record any changes in heart rate, due to anxiety, anticipation, and
being caught unawares.
Anxiety is fear. It is a psychological problem that starts in the brain, when humans see that people are

The reason it is believed the experiment will turn out this way is they will have a majority of the video
to anticipate when what is going to happen, so their heart rate will gradually increase before they see
the frightening part of the video, at which point their blood pressure and heart rate should spike
suddenly. It will also be taken into account how easily somebody gets frightened. That will play an
important role in how much the data changes. For the lab, 30 people have been chosen as the test
subjects. The people were chosen at random; there was no equation used in choosing who was picked
for the lab. The subjects were split into two groups; one would be told that they are going to see a
video that will give them good feelings, and then negatives ones suddenly, and the other group would
only be told that they are going to see a video, no details. Their resting heart rate Was taken, and
recorded it on a table, and then had them watch the video they were randomly assigned to.
Immediately after they had finished the video, their heart rates were tested again, and recorded any
changes in their diastole, systole, and their pulse. Each of the test subjects was tested separately, and
away from other distractions. The variables in this procedure are whether or not the person is a dog or

Tregs Immune System
Healthy individuals have their immune system working properly to protect them from pathogens.
Leukocytes are a part of the immune system that circulate in the blood (white cells). Lymphocytes are
one subset of leukocytes that recognize and respond to their specific antigens (e.g. peptides from an
external agent). T cells are a group of lymphocytes that mature in the thymus. Under exposure to their
specific antigen, conventional T cells are activated, leading to secretion of growth cytokines
(predominantly interleukine 2, denoted IL 2), and expression of the interleukine 2 receptor which
triggers cytokine driven proliferation cite{deboer87,thornton98,BOP2006}. However, the immune
system can cause damage by targeting erroneously self antigens ... Show more content on

The asymmetry introduced in cite{PBFO2010ECMTB}, and studied in this paper, is modeled by
considering that the secreting T cells have a lower death rate than the non secreting T cells and that the
active Tregs also have a lower death rate than the inactive Tregs, thus mimicking the effect of the
memory T cells. Memory T cells last longer than the other T cells and react more promptly to their
specific antigen cite{Rogers2000}.
%
With this asymmetry, an increase in the antigenic stimulation of T cells results in an increase in the
population size of T cells caused both by the increase in cytokine secretion and by the decrease in the
average death rate of T cells, thereby improving the efficiency of the immune responses

  • 3. Similarities and Differences between Labor Organizations Labor Organizations 1. Discuss the similarities and differences between at least three labor organizations discussed in Chapter 3. The Knights of Labor was a standard labor union comprised of individual workers across the nation. They were inclusive in terms, employing both skilled workers in crafts industries as well as unskilled laborers such as coalminers. (Rayback, 1966, p. 168). They had limited political objectives such as the eight hour workday and the prohibition of child and convict labor. Their broader objectives were social: to improve the image and social status of the working man. The AFL was not a labor organization, but a federation of affiliated labor unions. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p. 138). The AFL was exclusive, accepting skilled workers in crafts industries and skilled workers in industry. The AFL s goals were economic, they provided financial and political support for affiliated labor unions in contract negotiations with employers. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p. 139). The political objectives they did pursue usually had to do with the nature of labor negotiations. The IWW was neither a traditional labor union or a federation of labor unions, but a labor union comprised with many members of other labor organizations. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p. 195). The IWW was extremely inclusive, accepting most skilled and unskilled labor, most notably migrant farmworkers. (Dubofsky Foster, 2004, p. 197). • 5. Problem s Framing The framing effect explains how a problem s phrasing can effect an individual s decision making. When the problem asks if you would be willing to make a gamble where you have a 90% chance to lose 5 dollars and a 10% chance to win 95 dollars, most people say they would not take the gamble (which means they are risk adverse) because the problem states that you have a chance to lose 5 dollars, and this creates a psychological response in the participant because they naturally want to avoid losses. Hitler s Single Party Dictatorship Adolf Hitler s Single Party Dictatorship (Nazi Germany 1933 1945) Factors Leading to Hitler s Consolidation to Power Adolf Hitler s rise to power in 1933 can be attributed to a series of developments following Germany s defeat in World War I in 1918. Harsh terms imposed by the Treaty of Versailles turned public opinions against the newly established Weimar Republic throughout the 1920s. The Weimar Republic, the democratic government established after Kaiser Wilhelm s abdication of the throne, faced major public criticism and political instability. Strategic Challenges And The Global Security Environment The central problem discussed in this paper is to determine the general capabilities needed to rebalance the Joint Force 2025 (JF25) considering the current strategic challenges and the global security environment. This paper proposes that the JF25 focus on its competitive advantages and curtail ineffective and expensive programs to preserve its ground forces capability to provide deterrence and defeat capabilities critical to our National Strategic Objectives. To support this position, this paper articulates the emerging threats to U.S. National Interests and highlights the key strategic direction of published Department of Defense (DoD) strategy and strategic concepts. • 11. Components of a Quest Novel in True Grit by Charles Portis What kind of components are in a quest novel? There is a quest hero, the wise old man, a helper or guide, a call, and many more. Charles Portis applies these components to many of his characters in his novel True Grit. There is stubborn, fourteen year old Mattie Ross, the quest hero, Marshal Rooster Cogburn, the wise old man, and a conceited Texas ranger named LaBoeuf, the helper/guide. Throughout this novel, they prove that they are the characters of a quest novel in many ways. A quest hero is someone who has the courage to try, and stay determined. Another aspect of a quest hero is that they have a call, an impulse, or a summon, that sends them on a journey. Mattie Ross represents the quest hero in this novel. For example, as Mattie realizes nothing is being done about Tom Chaney on the loose, she decides to take matters into her own hands. She states Nobody here knew my father and I am afraid nothing much is going to be done about it except I do it myself (65). The fact that no one is chasing her father s murderer, is her call. If there are ten marshals out looking for Chaney, Mattie would have been satisfied, and gone home without embarking on this journey. Since he is still on the loose, she wants to go and find him herself, proving that this is her call. Another way Mattie shows she is the quest hero is she is determined. For instance, even though she is told that she is not to go on the expedition, she stays steadfast. Mattie says I aim to get Tom Chaney and if ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At first, the colonial people continued to abide by the same customs that they had back in Europe. As time passed, though, they began to have a different approach. One of the norms in Europe was that women were to stay inside the house to attend to housework and to take care of their children. Ideally biopsies of abdominal subcutaneous tissue and salivary glands should be used for the Congo red staining test, and it is positive if the sample has apple green birefringence in appearance under polarized light. If the sample was inconclusive or negative, then the provider should have the affected organ biopsied to ensure an accurate diagnosis. The reason one should investigate for amyloid deposits via more invasive biopsy techniques is due to the higher risk of mortality associated with misdiagnosis and delayed or lack of treatment. If renal biopsies are warranted, sufficient amounts of amyloid deposits can be found around the glomerular basement membranes. Urine testing for paraprotein is not specific enough for the diagnosis of AL, for many gammopathies present with this in the urine. Once biopsies are positive, then the amyloid deposits should be tested via immunofluorescence microscopy to obtain valuable information regarding its makeup. Usually this will lead to a healthy discussion on the differences of the interpretation of each individual. This was not the case when the Nazi s had power in Germany and they used their power to shape art in their country to what they deemed to be acceptable and exiled art they deemed unacceptable or not fitting their belief system. This would change the art direction of Germany from a more expressive style to a more conservative style that fit the Nazi party s beliefs and how they wish to run the country. In 1914 World War I forced Kandinsky to return to Russia, and shortly afterwards a new phase of his career began. This was not unusual for art in the time period of World War I. Looking at the art style of Der Blaue Reiter up to the year 1914, We can see that the individuals involved were not held together by common stylistic principles but rather constituted a loose association of young artist who were enthusiastic about new experiments an united in their oppositions. However, Jake had boxing training which included speed rope jumping and muscular development of his calf muscles. My dance background had taught me slow graceful leaps while his training was in speed. Consequently, his reflex inhibition kicked in and he jumped almost twenty five more times per minute than I jumped. Again, this defeat is attributable to environmental factors, because Jake s jump rope practice gave him a formidable advantage. Our next event incorporated striking a birdie over our heads with a racquet to see how far we could propel it using our dominant hand and our non dominant hand. Birdie Bash tested our muscular development, needed to apply force to our strikes, and neurological development, demonstrated when we used our non dominant hands. Key Features Of The Public Expenditure Structure In Cambodia Public expenditure structure in Cambodia Key Features of the expenditure system The expenditure system in Cambodia has three main features. It s important to emphasize that more information is needed to be certain about whether the following expenditure trends continue today. First, the country has been running a deficit for a long time due to higher growth rate of expenditures than revenues. Second, the country has dropped significantly their investment in rural development and agriculture, which affects the country s growth because it s overwhelmingly rural. Lastly, the transport expenditures have also decreased substantially. If the country had better transport infrastructure, the government could raise their revenues that come from public services. Additionally, without proper transport infrastructure there is a loss of potential tourism destinations, and reduced competitiveness in market accessibility due to high access costs to commodities. Budget Deficit Cambodia budget s deficit has remained relatively flat between 2000 and 2017 (estimated). In 2000, the deficit was 4.8% of GDP and in 2017 the deficit is estimated to be 4.5% of GDP, excluding grants. The country s expenditures have grown at faster rate than its revenues. Feudalism In Romantic Poetry A dictum from Heraclitus may illustrate the origin of romantic poetry, when we are awake we have a world in common, but when we are asleep each has his own world (Quoted by O Connell 35). As conceived from the innermost being, romantic poems have a close relationship with dream. However, as the definitions and characteristics are controversial, some critics oppose to use the term Romanticism . For instance, Arthur Lovejoy criticizes that Romanticism is an obscure norm when defined by associating the nature and emotion as even Plato can be regarded as a pioneer in romantic poetry according to this definition (Lovejoy 230). However, romantic poetry cannot be defined with a linguistic entitle without considering the historical process (Wellek 2) for it appeared in a specific period after the revolution in France and the Enlightenment, when the awareness of rationalism started to spreed. In this case, its virtue is to remind us that the cost of using a resource arises from the value of what it could be used for instead. (2002). In the above example, if the consumer was to buy a less expensive car, or finance less of the car price, the funds not being used for car payments could be invested for a higher yield. • 40. The Symposium By Plato Analysis In Plato s, The Symposium, there are a multitude of things that get discussed amongst the group of men, one of those theories being the idea of beauty. To truly understand what Plato thinks about beauty, you have to understand his idea of forms, and the Form of Beauty. He describes this as an everlasting loveliness which never comes nor goes, which neither flowers nor fades . The essence to understanding this form, is that we can realize all beautiful things share the Form of Beauty. But only in their involvement with this form that they become beautiful. It is an unchanging, absolute, and immortal form that cannot admit to anything less. The form itself is not ugly or offensive, or it would cease to exist in the form . This idea is brought forth in The Symposium when Socrates is talking about his encounter with Diotima and her story of the Ladder of Love . This story gives us an understanding of how we should love and what it means to be truly beautiful. Diotima shares with Socrates the process by which one can aquire these final visions , and then they are explained to us. This was during a time known as the Industrial Age. The Industrial Age, characterized by its advances in technology and increase in urbanization, started in England in the late 1700s and spread to America by the mid 1800s. The changes brought on by the Industrial Age affected the US both positively and negatively. Workers were affected negatively. They had to work in the harsh conditions of the factories where they were overworked and put into dangerous environments. These conditions, however, led labour laws being put into place, changing the US for the better The people working in factories were affected negatively negatively by the Industrial Age. Early factory workers would have workdays up to 14 hours long (Farr). While this was around the same length as a preindustrial workday, the amount of work done within that time changed. Preindustrial workers worked in bursts of energy. Factory workers, on the other hand, had to work nonstop in order to meet demands. A worker as young as 10 years old could have a 16 hour work day with only one break (Doc 1). Even when machines broke and production stopped, workers had to stay in the factory, though these unscheduled breaks were often used for relaxation. These long work days were tiring for adults, but even worst for child workers. Children as young as 6 years old were hired as factory workers. They crawled under machines to ... • 46. Significance Of Blue Monday IT WAS A BLUE MONDAY INDEED Blue Monday is a song that prophesied the future at that time; 1983, and it had mixed reviews from one and all. The movie 24 Hour Party People pointed out that Blue Monday is perpetually the best selling 12inch single in Britain, at 1.16 million copies sold there; and the world, at 3 million copies sold worldwide (a claim which is difficult to verify), which accounts the rise of Factory records. And unfortunately, due to Factory Records not being a part of the British Phonographic Industry at the time of Blue Monday s original release, it could not be eligible for an official gold disc. The packaging of the record had been done by former label partner and renowned graphic designer, Peter Saville. He designed a black die cut sleeve that resembled a five inch computer floppy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a pinnacle in its time and it changed the landscape of music as it was and as it would be. The song is broadly viewed as a critical connection between Seventies disco and the Dance/House music boom that took off towards the end of the Eighties. Kick starting the UK dance scene it had a huge role in opening the pathway of dance music to a new and wide crowd of people. New order were one of the few bands to credibly fuse punk and disco being an proponent of Electroclash . Synthpop had been a noteworthy power in British famous music for quite a while, however Blue Monday was ostensibly the first British dance record to show an incontestable impact from the New York club scene, principally the work of makers like Arthur Baker (Ohlsson,M 2008). This inspiration of the New York disco clubs coupled with their industrial surroundings resulted in a sound that in turn would influence Detroit DJs and many other British groups. Consequently, Blue Monday is regularly seen as a standout amongst the most essential hybrid tracks of the 1980s popular music ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 47. Essay about Gradual and Sudden Anxiety People s anxiety levels will be tested through their heart rates. The resting heart rate of 30 people will be taken, and then the test group will be split in half. The first 15 subjects are going to be told that they are going to watch a scary video. And for the last 15 we will not tell the subjects anything that will happen in the video. A series of health questions that have nothing to do with our project will be asked. The goal of this project is to record any changes in heart rate, due to anxiety, anticipation, and being caught unawares. Anxiety is fear. It is a psychological problem that starts in the brain, when humans see that people are looking at them, and they start to get think that they are being judged. It is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason it is believed the experiment will turn out this way is they will have a majority of the video to anticipate when what is going to happen, so their heart rate will gradually increase before they see the frightening part of the video, at which point their blood pressure and heart rate should spike suddenly. It will also be taken into account how easily somebody gets frightened. That will play an important role in how much the data changes. For the lab, 30 people have been chosen as the test subjects. The people were chosen at random; there was no equation used in choosing who was picked for the lab. The subjects were split into two groups; one would be told that they are going to see a video that will give them good feelings, and then negatives ones suddenly, and the other group would only be told that they are going to see a video, no details. Their resting heart rate Was taken, and recorded it on a table, and then had them watch the video they were randomly assigned to. Immediately after they had finished the video, their heart rates were tested again, and recorded any changes in their diastole, systole, and their pulse. Each of the test subjects was tested separately, and away from other distractions. The variables in this procedure are whether or not the person is a dog or a cat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Tregs Immune System Healthy individuals have their immune system working properly to protect them from pathogens. Leukocytes are a part of the immune system that circulate in the blood (white cells). Lymphocytes are one subset of leukocytes that recognize and respond to their specific antigens (e.g. peptides from an external agent). T cells are a group of lymphocytes that mature in the thymus. Under exposure to their specific antigen, conventional T cells are activated, leading to secretion of growth cytokines (predominantly interleukine 2, denoted IL 2), and expression of the interleukine 2 receptor which triggers cytokine driven proliferation cite{deboer87,thornton98,BOP2006}. However, the immune system can cause damage by targeting erroneously self antigens ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... % The asymmetry introduced in cite{PBFO2010ECMTB}, and studied in this paper, is modeled by considering that the secreting T cells have a lower death rate than the non secreting T cells and that the active Tregs also have a lower death rate than the inactive Tregs, thus mimicking the effect of the memory T cells. Memory T cells last longer than the other T cells and react more promptly to their specific antigen cite{Rogers2000}. % With this asymmetry, an increase in the antigenic stimulation of T cells results in an increase in the population size of T cells caused both by the increase in cytokine secretion and by the decrease in the average death rate of T cells, thereby improving the efficiency of the immune responses cite{PBFO2010ECMTB, BFOP2011Trans, BFOP2011Bystander}. The results presented here deepen our results in cite{BOP2006, PBFO2010ECMTB, BFOP2011Trans, BFOP2011Bystander, BOPS2008, BOPF2011Dynamics, OFBP2014Approx}. % In Section ref{Theory}, we model the immune response as a set of five ordinary differential equations.
