William Bradford Journey To The New World Essay
The journey to the New World certainly proved difficult and venturous; however the horrors did not
prevent either William Bradford or the English pilgrims on the Mayflower from setting aside all fears
and taking on the expedition. Contemplating the difficulties of venturing to the new world, William
Bradford set out in search of religious freedom. Numerous factors contributed to his final decision.
Bradford anticipated the journey to be perilous and difficult to accomplish. However, he believed that
with the help of God he might be able to overcome the challenges and complete the voyage (Ch. 3,
A1, The American Spirit). Without knowledge of what was to come, Bradford relied on his faith to
help him through the difficulties. Aside from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His expectations fell short when they experienced poverty and religious disagreements, and the
children were converting to the manners of the Dutch society. Since his expectations fell short in
Holland, Bradford is most likely biased toward the way of life in the New World. He and the group of
Puritans had traveled over water to Holland, but their trip was not as distant as the New World.
Without knowing what was to happen, Bradford automatically assumed the worst. Torn by the deep
yearning for religious freedom, misfortunes in Holland, and possible dangers overseas, Bradford and
the group of Puritans went against all judgment and decided to risk the journey. Bradford s writing is
only limited to assumptions and rumors. Having not actually been to the new land and have not
travelled over the waters, he could only rely on the information he heard as well as what he had
imagined in his mind. As Bradford expressed his concerns and emotions prior to the expedition, he left
out any logical predictions and situations about the new and unknown location. All he writes about is
fear and the images he thinks of in regard to the fear. Bradford s writing is somewhat accurate in how
it portrays the influence of anxiety and how individuals expect the worse of what they do not know.
His perspective deeply shows the raw emotion of what the pilgrims experienced as they took chances
and struggled to find

Corporations Law
1.0 Areas of law
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has long been a touchy issue for governments not just in
Australia, but around the world as well. Companies in Australia are governed by the corporation s act,
which outlines the legal capacity and power of a company. The Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 57A1,
defines a corporation as a separate legal entity, that includes any corporate body and unincorporated
bodies that may sue, be sued or hold property in the name of an office holder appointed for that
purpose. In context of corporate governance, the main issue is with the current legislation is in regards
to director s duties. Under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s1802, directors have a civil obligation to
act with due care and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, the Australian government may introduce a rule that requires registered companies to participate
in a policy in which each company need to design a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee that
will observe every activity conducted and how will it impact those other than the shareholders,
specifically the employees, suppliers, customers and also the environment. The company would then
have to participate in a policy in which it is required to be publicized on its own website. Although it
may be contradicting to the directors best interest for the company, by spending an amount on
volunteering programs, such as the hunger project to help extinguish famine in poor countries, it also
helps the company to build a better image that in turn, could be advantageous to the directors.
4.0 Issues of importance
The push for company reporting to include CSR related information in annual reports is of utmost
importance, given the prominence of corporate influence in today s society. The recommendation to
implement triple bottom line reporting would increase the extent to which companies are taking
responsibility for the consequences of their actions, in relation to corporate activities that touch on
environmental or other issues of community concern13
The implementation of the policy requiring companies to establish a corporate Social Responsibility
Committee are

Conflict Between Israel And Israel
Before getting all sophisticated and going into depth about this issue, I would like to break down each
subject that would be discussed. Conflict is defined as incompatibility or interference, as of one idea,
desire, event, or activity with another. Palestine (also called the Holy Land) is an ancient country in
South West Asia, on the East coast of the Mediterranean. Palestine is also a country divided between
Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Lastly, Israel is a republic in South West Asia on the Mediterranean, formed
as a Jewish state in May of 1948. These two, the Israelis and Palestinians, have been fighting for
decades. The main reasons include international agreement, borders, economic security, water
resources, sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of movement due to
barriers, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of return for their refugees. Of course, at one point
in time there had to be peace. There wasn t always fighting and clashing going on. This time of peace
happened to be before a group of Zionists from Europe decided to invade the land in attempt to make
it home for the Jewish people. Eventually, fighting broke out when the Arabs realized what was really
going on and how it would affect their people and community. As stated before, these two have been
going at it for many many years so of course there are wars to prove it. The first war fought between
the Palestinians and Arabs took place in 1947 1949, also referred to as

* SINGLES SEGMENT The singles segment has experienced strong consistent growth since period 1,
growing from 153,000 unit in demand to 405,000 units demand in period 8. Recent demand has grown
at a slower rate suggesting that this segment has reached its maturity stage. This segment was not
service well until recent periods when competition for this segment became quite strong. Despite this
competition and relatively low margins, this remains an attractive market due to its size and position
in the life cycle. * PROFESSIONALS The professional segment has been the most competitive
segment in terms of products offered, primarily due to the large margins that can be received. The
segment grew substantially in the early periods but lately has entered the decline stage and will now
represent a much smaller percentage of the total market. Depending on the ability to hold market share
this, segment will quickly lose its appeal in future periods. * HI EARNERS Like the Professionals, the
Hi Earners experienced significant growth from initial demand of 264,000 units in period 1 to 455,000
units in period 8. It presents high margins and is dominated by a small number of companies which
present barriers to entry into this market. It remains an attractive market due to it s relative market

The Curse Of The Ruined Pretzel Summary
The author of The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel never actually says that Skidmore Boddlebrooks is
guilty of poisoning his brother, but implies it through various means. Through character description,
the author makes Skidmore seem really shady, in comparison to the jolly old man description of
Manchester E. Boddlebrooks. The author also describes the utter hatred that Skidmore felt for his
brother, potentially providing a motivation for Skidmore to murder his brother. Describing the bad
reputation that followed Skidmore for the rest of his life, the author makes the reader believe that
Skidmore is guilty of killing Manchester. Clearly, while never directly stating that Manchester was
poisoned by his brother, Skidmore, the author uses character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When a character is described with negative attributes, that character is generally going to be less
likable than a character that is described with positive attributes. Paul Haven uses this knowledge to
convince the reader that Skidmore Boddlebrooks is guilty of murdering his brother, Manchester E.
Boddlebrooks. While Manchester seems like the friendly old man archetype according to the author,
Skidmore is described as being a jealous younger brother that was generally perceived as being a bit
creepy. Using these vastly different character description, the author appears to show some bias,
believing that Skidmore is guilty of poisoning Manchester, regardless of whether he specifically states
this. Paul Haven specifies that Skidmore Boddlebrooks has a strong hatred for his older brother,
Manchester. This does much to make him seem suspicious in the case of Manchester s death. Not only
would this give motivation for Skidmore to poison his brother s pretzel, but it also adds to the fact that
Skidmore is portrayed as a very negative person. This makes the reader believe that Skidmore is guilty
of murdering Manchester, despite the author never actively accusing Skidmore of doing

American Democracy Ideal Democracy
American democracy is not ideal democracy. Low voter turnout, excessive sums of money that is
poured into elections, and the increasingly unpopular Electoral College leaves American democracy
from being an ideal, well functioning democratic electoral system. American democracy, however, has
never been closer to an ideal democracy than it is now. The endless information voters have due to the
Internet allows voters to cast their ballots with more confidence and information than ever before.
More information available to voters means more accountability for elected officials. Voting has
become much easier and accessible than ever before. Absentee ballots and early voting allows voters
to cast their ballots without hassle and on their own time.

The Development And Progression Of Amyloid
As scientists, we are always trying to discover the answers to the how and why questions that comes
up as science progresses. We all know that nothing is ever straight forward and sometimes we end up
with more questions than answers from our obtained results but this is not always a negative. A major
area of interest today is the development and progression of amyloid diseases such as Alzheimer s
disease, Huntington s disease, and transmissible bovine spongiform encephalopathy. Despite extensive
studies conducted on each one of these diseases, little is really known about their development and
progression because little is known about the mechanism behind amyloid fibril formation the common
link found in all of these diseases. Over the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Previous studies have shown that different proteins contain short identical sequences in their
secondary structures that have completely different functions and folding mechanisms. It has also been
shown that these same sequences can be induced to form an α helix, β strand, or β sheet structure
depending on the context. These findings have suggested that chameleon sequences have a sense of
structural plasticity which can pose a problem for protein secondary structure prediction. While
previous research has only focused on the notion of identical sequences within an α helix in one
protein whereas a different protein has the same identical sequence but instead of an α helix, the
sequence is within a β strand; Guo et al. delve deeper into the notion that there is also the possibility
of these sequences being found within a β sheet or β hairpin conformation. To distinguish between the
two, Guo et al. introduced the terms chameleon HS and chameleon HE. Chameleon HS refers to the
sequences with helix and strand structures whereas chameleon HE refers to the sequences with helix
and sheet/hairpin structures.
This study used two different data sets, Dataset No.1 and Dataset No.2. Dataset No. 1, used to search
for chameleon sequences, consists of 6962 protein chains generated from the Protein Data Bank
(PDB). Dataset No.

The Lymphatic System Essay
The lymphatic system is very similar, and works with and directly at the side of the cardiovascular
system. The lymphatic system has a network of vessels like the circulatory system which pump a
plasma like fluid called lymph around it s own lymph vessels, and are found in most other tissues of
the body, except the central nervous system.
Lymph is the name given to the fluid of plasma proteins that escape the circulatory system at the sites
of the capillary network and diffuse into the cells around the capillaries. To enable the body to
maintain a homeostatic fluid level and pressure, the lymph must be returned to the circulatory system.
The way this happens is for the the network of lymph vessels to pick up the fluid which has escaped,

The act of breathing alters the pressure within the thoracic cavity and as the pressure drops, this also
helps to force the lymph through the network of lymph vessels which have smooth muscle to aid the
circulation. The structure of the lymph vessels are very similar to those of the circulatory system
vessels. A protective outer layer, a muscular central core and a smooth inner lining to aid the free flow
of lymph.
Failure to circulate lymph back to the circulatory system results in swelling of the tissues, or oedema.
Examples of this can be the result of infection through tropical disease where the lymph vessels are
destroyed or blocked, or mild, temporary cases such as pregnancy where the weight of a foetus can
press against the lymph vessels and prevent the return of lymph to the subclavian ducts.
The lymphatic system works in three ways. It helps to control the balance of the body s fluids by
draining and cleansing fluid that seeps from the circulatory system during normal cardiovascular
circulation. As fluid leaves the circulatory system it enters the tissue cells and whilst the majority of it
diffuses back into the vessels of the circulatory system, the remainder enters the open ends of the
lymph vessels. The lymphatic system also works with the villi in the digestive system to help deliver
fats and absorbed nutrients in the digested food we eat, back to the circulatory system. This fluid is not

Abortion, when the topic comes up, it is usually something people do not like to discuss. People may
tend to avoid this issue for fear of offending or angering others but it is extremely important that the
horrors of this brutal practice be addressed. During the years 1965 1996 over 515 million babies have
been murdered, this is if you add the number of chemical and surgical abortions
(www.rockforlife.org). This is what we need to understand: abortion kills and we need to know where
it came from.
The legalization of abortion started in Mississippi in the year 1966; it was used in the cases of rape.

One Man s Journey to Heaven in the Book Leaf by Niggle...
One Man s Journey to Heaven The story Leaf by Niggle by J.R.R. Tolkien is a story of allegory, and
with good use of metaphors shows what our religious journey on earth to heaven could be. The story
used allegory which is metaphors for the characters and places used in the story. It start with a man
named Niggle, who is going on a trip, but wants to finish his painting before he goes. Once we read
the entire story it becomes clear that it is an allegorical story. The main character in the story is
Niggle. He is a painter; however he is not a successful painter. He is very nervous and not sure about
going on his journey. Niggle is very kind and feels the need to help others, even when he feels it is
annoying at the time. Niggle lives in a country that has rules about needing to help each others
neighbors, so Niggle is forced by an inspector to help his neighbor Parish, even though he doesn t care
much for him. The metaphors used in Niggle s story of the people he meets and where he goes, it is
easy to see that the story represents a mans life of his path to purgatory and death. The symbolism
seems likely, especially to Catholics and their belief in purgatory. In his idea of a painting, he sees a
large tree with leaves and mountains. He wants more than anything to paint what he sees; however, he
is continually bothered by his neighbor, a man named Parish. He procrastinated for his journey by
keeping himself very busy with his painting and helping his

Physics Of Bowling Research Paper
People do not realize that physics consists of everyday things from swimming to walking to even
writing. One great example of an ill observed example of physics is bowling. The way that the
bowling ball is made, the ball is spins, the grip of the ball, the weight, and obviously the way that the
ball is thrown. All of these factors of physics contribute to the bowling balls movement. The bowling
ball is a great example of everyday physics, but we only see it as a game that we play for fun. The first
factor of the physics of the bowling ball is the interior of the bowling ball. The bowling ball consists
of a hard shell that covers a block that is weighted in the inside of the bowling ball. The weight inside
the block affects the spin and how the ball curves of the bowling ball and how the bowling ball curves.
The block is perfectly symmetric so that the ball can be a prefect sphere. This block determines the ...

A bowler should always bowl their ball in a curved path, and not a straight line. The curved path gives
the bowler a far greater chance of getting a strike rather then a bowler that only bowls with a straight
path. The curved path bowler creates greater velocity and friction than the straight path bowler
because of the direction the ball goes. One of the greatest factors of the physics of bowling is the
symmetry of the weighted blocks inside the bowling ball. The bowling ball consists of perfect
symmetry because it makes an even amount of weight on all sides of the ball. The ball can perfectly be
rolled down the lane with the symmetry. The greater this weight is combined with the amount of force
given by the bowler creates the speed of the ball which is a great factor in bowling. Bowling may be
considered as something that we do on a leisurely day, but it really does contain physics. Physics is in
everything, everywhere, everyday. It is a great part of how we

Airline Deregulation Act (1978)
Airline Deregulation Act The Airline Deregulation Act was signed and brought into effect by President
Jimmy Carter on October 28, 1978 (Deregulation, 2007). This law was the first of its kind to
deregulate an entire industry in the United States history (Deregulation, 2007). According to
Avstop.com (n.d.), The main purpose of the act was to remove government control over fares, routes
and market entry (of new airlines) from commercial aviation. The Civil Aeronautics Board s powers of
regulation were to be phased out, eventually allowing passengers to be exposed to market forces in the

Why Is Circumcision Wrong
Circumcision is a barbaric practice that has no medical purposes besides for appearance and what is
more attractive to the opposite gender. Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin, it is a practice that
got started because of religion. Circumcision is usually performed on the second day after the baby is
born. During a circumcision, the foreskin is freed from the head of the penis, and the extra foreskin is
removed. The foreskin is a normal part of a male child, it is not a birth defect or something that has to
be removed for the safety of the child. Circumcision is painful to the baby boy, they do not give them
medicine to numb the pain or put them to sleep. The baby is in so much pain from the removal of the
foreskin they go into shock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In adult men, they sometimes can get something called phimosis which is when the foreskin is tight
and will not pull back. There is also paraphimosis which is when the foreskin will not go back into its
normal position after being pulled back. It causes the head of the penis to swell and become painful.
All of these would be reasons to remove the foreskin.
A male child cannot speak up and say he does not want this done, many people just do this to their
children without thinking of what they may want in the future. Many parents have decided to wait till
there baby is older and able to make a choice himself about if he wants to be circumcised or not. The
older the child is when choosing to circumcise the doctors will put them to sleep and the process won t

The California Coast Is The Epitome Of Artistic Culture
I always thought the Oregon Coast was the epitome of artistic culture. It seems there s an art gallery
on just about every street corner down the 101, giving me an abundance of art to experience. In the
last couple months, I spent time meandering little galleries observing paintings, photographs, and
ceramics, as well as taking in the unique work that thrives in the area; blown glass. When it came time
to write my cultural review I wasn t sure what to write about. Then on Saturday, April 22nd, as I was
wandering through the Cultural Center taking in the 40+ year old murals, I came across a flier for a
musical with their last performance that night. Not being a big musical fan I decided to attend for the
experience. Boy, did I get an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even back in Elizabethan times, female actors painted their face white to show them as part of the
aristocracy. Shakespeare himself was a make up artist, and most likely would have used makeup to
distinguish his characters. That being said, the Oompa Loompa s and Willy Wonka were in full
makeup and wigs, which made the lack of makeup on the rest of the characters stand out more. I also
found the high school and adult characters interacting with the audience distracting. I feel actors, of all
people, should know how important getting into and staying in character is, not only for their
performance but the performance of their peers. This also helps the audience suspending their belief
and see that actor as the fictitious person they want us to see. Once that is established it shouldn t be
broken due to some unnecessary hand gesture to an audience member. As with all plays I ve attended,
the play starts with the director requesting the audience not to get up during the performance and
requested everyone silence their cell phones to avoid distracting the actors. I wish I could have asked
them to stay in character throughout the play because it distracted me as the audience. I could go on
and on about little things that bothered me. For example, the contract Wonka has the kids sign was
hanging in a scroll on the wall; crooked it sat because the chains on the side were different lengths. Or

Evolution Lab Report
Introduction The reason for doing this lab is to study evolution using small population of finches on
two different islands. I used different charts and graphs to find limitations on natural selection. Then
find the effect evolution will have on beak and population over a certain time period. Using three
different assignments I have to develop different hypothesis comparing and contrasting the average
beak size and population size changing rain fall, beak sizes, population and island size on Darwin s
and Wallace experiments. Method I used 3 different assignments: 1, 2, and 4. Assignments 1: I
developed a hypothesis to predict that the island with the finches with the larger beak will be able to
adapt more rapidly to their surrounding and handle the hard seeds of their island verses the island with
the finches with the smaller beaks. I left the primary beak size on Darwin ... Show more content on

Assignment 2: I developed a hypothesis that predict that if there was a decrease in precipitation, then
the population numbers would decrease remarkably then the numbers rise up over the starting
population. I left all of the other settings at their initial values, change the rainfall on Wallace Island to
50 cm/year and the rainfall on Darwin Island to the minimum possible value (0 cm/year). Run the
simulation for 300 years. Then find the average in the beak size and population. Which values came to
be 126.2 for Darwin and 475.3 for Wallace. Assignment 4: I developed a hypothesis to predict what
effect an increase in island size will have on beak size and finch populations. I tested my hypothesis
by leaving all other parameters at their default values. Selected the Island Size input and use the
sliders to increase the size of either. Then I tested the effect of the parameters to influence population
size and beak size by designing and running experiments to get my

Summary Of Tom Wright s PlayBlack Diggers
Tom Wright demonstrated through his play Black Diggers the harsh reality of the treatment of
indigenous Australian during the time of World War 1. Black Diggers captured the exclusion, the
violence and loss of opportunities faced by the Indigenous Australians. Australia 100 years on still
shows similar hostilities towards Aboriginal individuals, some movement has been may towards
Aboriginals being equal but still not much meaningful change has occurred.
Wright demonstrates the limit opportunity that the Indigenous people had for their inherited land. The
land that they owned was taken over by the white Europeans and called Australia a name never heard
of in the Aboriginal community. Wright demonstrated that the land was taken over, and they had no
choice in the decision they had to live with the choice. Furthermore Wright empathised their
unpresented land right when presenting the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act of 1917 , the public
servant had the authority to acquire land of the Indigenous without giving them a choice you can t just
take the land off us , however the reality is that they could. Wright also demonstrated that Indigenous
servicemen couldn t apply for land in the same way white servicemen could. The viewers of the play
are presented with the harsh reality of what the white individuals could take from the Aboriginals
without them be able to defend themselves eliciting a sense of sadness and reject of the treatment
towards them. On the other

Why Did The Rise And Fall Of The Mayan Society
The Maya civilization is a renowned part of history, as it is remembered for its delicate and detailed
culture filled with alluring architecture and arts. Not only this, but the Maya civilization is also
memorable for their astronomical and mathematical skills (Demarest 2004, Sharer Traxler 2006,
Houston Inomata 2009). Yet, despite their flourishing agriculture, economy and political state, the
Classic Maya society met their demise in the 9th century (Willey et al. 1967, Culbert 1973).
Paleoclimatologists and archaeologists come together to better understand the circumstances which
brought the end of the Classic Maya civilization, creating a variety of arguments which would explain
so. Although many reasons are presented to explain the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The third, and more justified belief, is that the series of harsh droughts made their way through each
community, till there was nothing left. Historical documents further prove the coldness which settled
its way into the world, as in the Annals of Ulster, it is mentioned about a painful winter which takes
over (Richardson: 285). Furthermore, this cold winter and rough wind is mentioned over and over in
the book, indicating that the Classic Maya were not the only ones treated to this weather. Similar
weather conditions during the 9th century was also discovered in Wibjorn Karlen, Sweden, which
further proves the climate change was not something the Maya society was facing alone. From the
northeast of the Caribbean, marine sediment proves that the increasingly lack of sea surface salinity
was what lead to the failing of the much necessary rainfall in the summer for the Maya civilization.
These same records show that the droughts were not something which happened once, but was a
periodic reoccurrence, and each time it would cause the rainfall to get becoming smaller and

The Influence Of The Holocaust On Modern Society
The Holocaust was a phenomenon that occurred during the years leading up to and including the
Second World War in which Adolf Hitler and his governing Nazi party, systematically persecuted,
displaced and ultimately murdered millions of European Jews. This atrocity suffered by the Jewish
people has contributed to the shaping of modern society in ways such as the founding the United
Nations, a greatly reduced population of Jews in modern day Europe, and the establishment of the
Jewish state in Palestine/Israel.
Eastern Europe, consisting of a once great and vivacious Jewish population, was nearly completely
decimated by Adolf Hitler and his deep mistrust and repugnance against the Jewish people. It was

Rhetorical Analysis Of Coca Cola
Does the childish logic of having done it first mean you have the right to it work in the real, business
world? According to Coca Cola USA, the slogans they use during their advertising campaigns are to
be used solely by them. Herbert, a representative from Coca Cola USA, informs the Grove Press that
they had used their slogan in one of their advertisements for a book. Seaver, Executive Vice President
of the Grove Press, does not agree with Coca Cola s terms and claim they were merely quoting a book
critic for the advertisement. He addresses all of Herbert s claims while also adding a sense of sarcasm.
Seaver presents a stronger letter with the use a sarcasm and countering all of Herbert s claims while
Herbert merely establishes authority and uses weak logic as his backup. Herbert immediately builds
up credibility on the matter of the slogan due to his position at Coca Cola USA. He provides examples
from the history of Coca Cola where the slogan had been used. Furthermore, he appeals to fear by
using scare tactics such as subtlety threatening legal action by appreciating their cooperation without
having even a reply from Seaver (Herbert 26). As a result, his letter is similar to a cease and desist
type which is used to threaten legal action. Herbert presents the friendly, cooperative tone to ensure
Grove Press just meets their demands without any efforts of rebutting. He intends to make use of his
corporate power to scare the Grove Press into meeting his demands by

Analysis Of The Drovers Wife By Raymond Tong

The Effects Of Sports Injuries On Sports
Technology in sports has been advancing rapidly all throughout the years. These advancements have
allowed sports fans to have an even better experience watching their teams play and compete.
Although these advancements like instant replay cameras, goal line technology, and better sportswear
have come in to use, there still has not been that much progress in dealing with injuries especially
dealing with head injuries like concussions. Sports injuries have been found to occur in approximately
3% of all elementary school students, 7% of all junior high students and 11% of high school students
involved in sport ing activities. Twenty percent of these injuries were considered by medical personnel
to be serious. It is well recognized that repetitive head impacts occur in a number of different sports.
The sports most frequently cited for repetitive head impact trauma are football and boxing (Janda,
David H). It is mainly a big topic discussion in the American Football community because it has been
proved that every hit a player takes causes some kind of brain damage. Although the critics mainly
focus on the NFL, there is another type of football they have overseen. It otherwise known as soccer
in the United States and not as popular as it is all across the world. There also have been a serious of
major head injuries in this sport and they have to be addressed because they should be a concern for
everyone who plays the sport. Soccer is the world s most popular team sport in the

Ethics Of Animal Use In Research
The Ethics of Animal Use in Research Some of the earliest records on animal testing date back to
ancient Greek philosophers and physicians such as Aristotle (1). Since then, the use of animals in
experimentation has grown tremendously and has evolved into an indispensable arm of biology.
Whether it be to test the effects of various chemicals on living organisms or developing a model of a
disease for future study, biology makes ample use of model organisms for a variety of purposes and
without their implementation many of the medical advancements we enjoy today would not exist.
Despite their deep and widespread historical use, the ethical considerations of using these animals is
still a highly debated topic around the world. This essay will argue that animal use is vital to the

Essay About Drinking In Alaska
Drilling in Alaska Instead of the United States drilling for oil in Alaska, we should focus more on
ways to reduce oil consumption, such as researching renewable energy sources. Let s face it the air as
we know it isn t getting any cleaner. We have a lot of pollution in the air; unfortunately oil is an
enormous part of the everyday lives of people living in the United States. Not only does it affect us
here in the United States, but did you ever think about the harm we are making in Alaska? We have
plenty of renewable resources where we can limit the amount of oil. How much are we consuming?
We consume a lot of oil for gas which includes vehicles, airplanes, and etc. There is a lot of
consumption in just in an hour in fact the United States consumes almost 20million barrels of oil per
day, and at a rate of 1.5 million barrels per day from Alaska, 7.5 percent of American oil consumption
could be met for over 20 years. ( Oil Drilling in Alaska 1) How is the oil consumption of the United
States affecting Alaska? While we are benefiting from the oil, what is happening in Alaska? Many
people fail to realize or ignore that we are affecting animals, people and nature with all that pollution
we are causing to Alaska. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Dynamic schemes are more complex and use system information whereas static schemes are bit
simpler and system informations are not used here. Dynamic schemes get changed whenever the status

aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with

being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and

It was designed to prevent criminals and the dangerously ill from purchasing firearms through a

  • 2. William Bradford Journey To The New World Essay The journey to the New World certainly proved difficult and venturous; however the horrors did not prevent either William Bradford or the English pilgrims on the Mayflower from setting aside all fears and taking on the expedition. Contemplating the difficulties of venturing to the new world, William Bradford set out in search of religious freedom. Numerous factors contributed to his final decision. Bradford anticipated the journey to be perilous and difficult to accomplish. However, he believed that with the help of God he might be able to overcome the challenges and complete the voyage (Ch. 3, A1, The American Spirit). Without knowledge of what was to come, Bradford relied on his faith to help him through the difficulties. Aside from the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His expectations fell short when they experienced poverty and religious disagreements, and the children were converting to the manners of the Dutch society. Since his expectations fell short in Holland, Bradford is most likely biased toward the way of life in the New World. He and the group of Puritans had traveled over water to Holland, but their trip was not as distant as the New World. Without knowing what was to happen, Bradford automatically assumed the worst. Torn by the deep yearning for religious freedom, misfortunes in Holland, and possible dangers overseas, Bradford and the group of Puritans went against all judgment and decided to risk the journey. Bradford s writing is only limited to assumptions and rumors. Having not actually been to the new land and have not travelled over the waters, he could only rely on the information he heard as well as what he had imagined in his mind. As Bradford expressed his concerns and emotions prior to the expedition, he left out any logical predictions and situations about the new and unknown location. All he writes about is fear and the images he thinks of in regard to the fear. Bradford s writing is somewhat accurate in how it portrays the influence of anxiety and how individuals expect the worse of what they do not know. His perspective deeply shows the raw emotion of what the pilgrims experienced as they took chances and struggled to find ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Corporations Law 1.0 Areas of law Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has long been a touchy issue for governments not just in Australia, but around the world as well. Companies in Australia are governed by the corporation s act, which outlines the legal capacity and power of a company. The Corporations Act 2001 (Cth) s 57A1, defines a corporation as a separate legal entity, that includes any corporate body and unincorporated bodies that may sue, be sued or hold property in the name of an office holder appointed for that purpose. In context of corporate governance, the main issue is with the current legislation is in regards to director s duties. Also, the Australian government may introduce a rule that requires registered companies to participate in a policy in which each company need to design a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee that will observe every activity conducted and how will it impact those other than the shareholders, specifically the employees, suppliers, customers and also the environment. The company would then have to participate in a policy in which it is required to be publicized on its own website. Although it may be contradicting to the directors best interest for the company, by spending an amount on volunteering programs, such as the hunger project to help extinguish famine in poor countries, it also helps the company to build a better image that in turn, could be advantageous to the directors. 4.0 Issues of importance The push for company reporting to include CSR related information in annual reports is of utmost importance, given the prominence of corporate influence in today s society. The recommendation to implement triple bottom line reporting would increase the extent to which companies are taking responsibility for the consequences of their actions, in relation to corporate activities that touch on environmental or other issues of community concern13 The implementation of the policy requiring companies to establish a corporate Social Responsibility Committee are ... • 4. Conflict Between Israel And Israel Before getting all sophisticated and going into depth about this issue, I would like to break down each subject that would be discussed. Conflict is defined as incompatibility or interference, as of one idea, desire, event, or activity with another. Palestine (also called the Holy Land) is an ancient country in South West Asia, on the East coast of the Mediterranean. Palestine is also a country divided between Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. Lastly, Israel is a republic in South West Asia on the Mediterranean, formed as a Jewish state in May of 1948. These two, the Israelis and Palestinians, have been fighting for decades. The main reasons include international agreement, borders, economic security, water resources, sovereignty of Jerusalem, Israeli settlements, Palestinian freedom of movement due to barriers, and resolving Palestinian claims of a right of return for their refugees. Of course, at one point in time there had to be peace. There wasn t always fighting and clashing going on. This time of peace happened to be before a group of Zionists from Europe decided to invade the land in attempt to make it home for the Jewish people. Eventually, fighting broke out when the Arabs realized what was really going on and how it would affect their people and community. As stated before, these two have been going at it for many many years so of course there are wars to prove it. The first war fought between the Palestinians and Arabs took place in 1947 1949, also referred to as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Curse Of The Ruined Pretzel Summary The author of The Curse of the Poisoned Pretzel never actually says that Skidmore Boddlebrooks is guilty of poisoning his brother, but implies it through various means. Through character description, the author makes Skidmore seem really shady, in comparison to the jolly old man description of Manchester E. Boddlebrooks. The author also describes the utter hatred that Skidmore felt for his brother, potentially providing a motivation for Skidmore to murder his brother. Describing the bad reputation that followed Skidmore for the rest of his life, the author makes the reader believe that Skidmore is guilty of killing Manchester. When a character is described with negative attributes, that character is generally going to be less likable than a character that is described with positive attributes. Paul Haven uses this knowledge to convince the reader that Skidmore Boddlebrooks is guilty of murdering his brother, Manchester E. Boddlebrooks. While Manchester seems like the friendly old man archetype according to the author, Skidmore is described as being a jealous younger brother that was generally perceived as being a bit creepy. Using these vastly different character description, the author appears to show some bias, believing that Skidmore is guilty of poisoning Manchester, regardless of whether he specifically states this. Paul Haven specifies that Skidmore Boddlebrooks has a strong hatred for his older brother, Manchester. This does much to make him seem suspicious in the case of Manchester s death. Not only would this give motivation for Skidmore to poison his brother s pretzel, but it also adds to the fact that Skidmore is portrayed as a very negative person. This makes the reader believe that Skidmore is guilty of murdering Manchester, despite the author never actively accusing Skidmore of doing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Despite extensive studies conducted on each one of these diseases, little is really known about their development and progression because little is known about the mechanism behind amyloid fibril formation the common link found in all of these diseases. Previous studies have shown that different proteins contain short identical sequences in their secondary structures that have completely different functions and folding mechanisms. It has also been shown that these same sequences can be induced to form an α helix, β strand, or β sheet structure depending on the context. These findings have suggested that chameleon sequences have a sense of structural plasticity which can pose a problem for protein secondary structure prediction. While previous research has only focused on the notion of identical sequences within an α helix in one protein whereas a different protein has the same identical sequence but instead of an α helix, the sequence is within a β strand; Guo et al. delve deeper into the notion that there is also the possibility of these sequences being found within a β sheet or β hairpin conformation. To distinguish between the two, Guo et al. introduced the terms chameleon HS and chameleon HE. Chameleon HS refers to the sequences with helix and strand structures whereas chameleon HE refers to the sequences with helix and sheet/hairpin structures. This study used two different data sets, Dataset No.1 and Dataset No.2. Dataset No. 1, used to search for chameleon sequences, consists of 6962 protein chains generated from the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Dataset No. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Lymphatic System Essay The lymphatic system is very similar, and works with and directly at the side of the cardiovascular system. The lymphatic system has a network of vessels like the circulatory system which pump a plasma like fluid called lymph around it s own lymph vessels, and are found in most other tissues of the body, except the central nervous system. Lymph is the name given to the fluid of plasma proteins that escape the circulatory system at the sites of the capillary network and diffuse into the cells around the capillaries. To enable the body to maintain a homeostatic fluid level and pressure, the lymph must be returned to the circulatory system. The way this happens is for the the network of lymph vessels to pick up the fluid which has escaped, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The act of breathing alters the pressure within the thoracic cavity and as the pressure drops, this also helps to force the lymph through the network of lymph vessels which have smooth muscle to aid the circulation. The structure of the lymph vessels are very similar to those of the circulatory system vessels. A protective outer layer, a muscular central core and a smooth inner lining to aid the free flow of lymph. Failure to circulate lymph back to the circulatory system results in swelling of the tissues, or oedema. Examples of this can be the result of infection through tropical disease where the lymph vessels are destroyed or blocked, or mild, temporary cases such as pregnancy where the weight of a foetus can press against the lymph vessels and prevent the return of lymph to the subclavian ducts. The lymphatic system works in three ways. It helps to control the balance of the body s fluids by draining and cleansing fluid that seeps from the circulatory system during normal cardiovascular circulation. As fluid leaves the circulatory system it enters the tissue cells and whilst the majority of it diffuses back into the vessels of the circulatory system, the remainder enters the open ends of the lymph vessels. The lymphatic system also works with the villi in the digestive system to help deliver fats and absorbed nutrients in the digested food we eat, back to the circulatory system. Tolkien is a story of allegory, and with good use of metaphors shows what our religious journey on earth to heaven could be. The story used allegory which is metaphors for the characters and places used in the story. It start with a man named Niggle, who is going on a trip, but wants to finish his painting before he goes. Once we read the entire story it becomes clear that it is an allegorical story. The main character in the story is Niggle. He is a painter; however he is not a successful painter. He is very nervous and not sure about going on his journey. Niggle is very kind and feels the need to help others, even when he feels it is annoying at the time. Niggle lives in a country that has rules about needing to help each others neighbors, so Niggle is forced by an inspector to help his neighbor Parish, even though he doesn t care much for him. The metaphors used in Niggle s story of the people he meets and where he goes, it is easy to see that the story represents a mans life of his path to purgatory and death. The symbolism seems likely, especially to Catholics and their belief in purgatory. In his idea of a painting, he sees a large tree with leaves and mountains. One great example of an ill observed example of physics is bowling. The way that the bowling ball is made, the ball is spins, the grip of the ball, the weight, and obviously the way that the ball is thrown. All of these factors of physics contribute to the bowling balls movement. The bowling ball is a great example of everyday physics, but we only see it as a game that we play for fun. The first factor of the physics of the bowling ball is the interior of the bowling ball. The bowling ball consists of a hard shell that covers a block that is weighted in the inside of the bowling ball. One of the greatest factors of the physics of bowling is the symmetry of the weighted blocks inside the bowling ball. The bowling ball consists of perfect symmetry because it makes an even amount of weight on all sides of the ball. The ball can perfectly be rolled down the lane with the symmetry. The greater this weight is combined with the amount of force given by the bowler creates the speed of the ball which is a great factor in bowling. In our model there is a main controller and balancer which gather and analyze each and every information. We aimed at the public cloud in this load balancing model because public cloud has enormous nodes with distributed computing resources present in many different locations. In this model public cloud is being divided into several cloud partitions and when the load and environment is very large and complex, these partitions simplify the load balancing. Due to its main controller the cloud can choose suitable partition for the jobs which are arriving whereas the balancer for each cloud partition chooses the best load balancing strategy Fig: Everything on the Cloud [16] Related works: There have been many studies of load balancing for the cloud environment.
