What Are The Cause Of The 2008 Financial Crisis
As evolution proceeds through time, it carries the gift of facilitation and intelligence. However, in
today s intellectually advanced society there has been a cloud of egotism that has decimated mortality
and integrity amongst individuals in an unpredictable economy. The financial crisis that took place
from 2007 2009 was based on the lack of moral judgment and a surplus of gluttony that affected the
united states economy drastically. This crisis is primarily based on the negligence of banks by granting
loan opportunities to individuals who do not qualify due to bad credit score, lack of assets to make a
down payment, employment status. However, numerous banks had predicted and were aware that
most of the individuals who applied for a loan and did not qualify would default on their mortgage,
which would allow banks to repossess the house and sell it for maximum value. ... Show more content

The Civil War Essay
The Civil War In this meeting of the Southern Historical Association great emphasis has been placed
upon a re examination of numerous phases of our history relating to the Civil War. While several
papers have dealt with certain forces which helped bring about the Civil War, none has attempted a
general synthesis of causes. This synthesis has been the task assumed by the retiring president of the
Association.
Before attempting to say what were the causes of the American Civil War, first let me say what were
not the causes of this war. Perhaps the most beautiful, the most poetic, the most eloquent statement of
what the Civil War was not fought for is Lincoln s Gettysburg Address. That address will live as long
as Americans retain their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A systematic study of both northern and southern opinion as expressed in their newspapers, speeches,
diaries, and private letters, gives irrefutable evidence in support of this assertion. Their ideology was
democratic and identical. However, theoretical adherence to the democratic principles, as veil we
know all too well in these days of plutocratic influences in our political life, is not sufficient evidence
that democratic government exists. I believe that I shall not be challenged in the assertion that the
economic structure of a section or a nation is the foundation upon which its political structure must
rest. For this reason, therefore, it will be necessary to know what the economic foundations of these
sections were. Was the economic structure of the North such as to support a political democracy in
fact as well as in form? And was the economic structure of the South such as to permit the existence of
free government? Time does not permit an extended treatment of this subject; it will be possible only
to point out certain conclusions based upon recent research. By utilizing the county tax books and the
unpublished census reports a group of us conducting a cooperative undertaking have been able to
obtain a reasonably accurate and specific picture of wealth structure of the antebellum South, and to
some extent that of the other sections. We have paid particular

The Military During World War One
James Frances Ryan is a private of the military during World War One. After his mother has receive
condolences letters stating that three of her four sons have been killed in combat, there is an urgent
need to save private Ryan and bring him home. Throughout this entire film, I felt a sense of pride and
uneasiness. I felt pride because of the fact that our country took into consideration the way that this
mother has to feel after losing three of her four children and the need to save her last child so that he
can return home to comfort her. I felt a sense of uneasiness because I knew that despite the fact that
they were doing this out of the good in their hearts, it wouldn t be an easy task to complete because
lives would be lost since they are still at war. Not only to they have to fight for their lives but also try
to find another person who they ve never met and get him back safely. There are 3 specific scene
throughout this film that I believe are crucial to the understanding and the emotions I felt while
watching it. The opening scene of this film definitely sets the tone for what is about to happen
throughout this entire movie. While they are on the ship approaching the shore of Omaha Beach you
can sense the tension and fear of the soldiers. They are shaking, throwing up, saying prayers all before
they have to unload the ship and begin the war. The shots of this scene are very close up. They rarely

Research Paper On Airbus A380
The biggest commercial aircraft on the market right now is the Airbus A380. This amazing feat of
engineering is so spectacular that it is the biggest that a commercial aircraft can be! The airbus A380
can be described in many different ways, most people call it spectacular or even just flat out amazing
that something this big can even get off the ground. While the industry continues to make
improvements to flight, they are also keeping the costs down, so that anyone flying can experience
flying in an Airbus, especially if they are traveling abroad. Many would say that the idea of building
the Airbus was thought of by a French transport minister named Jean Chamant and a German
economics minister, named Karl Schiller in 1969, but in all actuality, the idea was originated in in
1967 by ministers in France, Germany and Britain. They all agreed for the purpose of strengthening
European co operation in the field of aviation technology and thereby promoting economic and
technological progress in Europe, to take appropriate measures for the joint development and
production of an airbus (Early Days, 1967 1969). They knew that if they did not come up with a new
concept for air flight, that the Americans would always be the leaders in the aircraft industry.
They knew it would take the effort of not just one country, but many that had built different aspects of
planes, and were well known for that contribution. France was to supply the cockpit, the control

Self-Presentation Vs. Impression Management
Self Presentation Versus Impression Management There is no surprise that the way a person presents
himself to others impacts how they will respond to him. Most often, people will attempt to present
themselves in a positive manner in order to gain friends, likes and comments on social media, and
even a romantic relationship. In order to achieve their ideal image of how they want others to perceive
them, people will attempt to reconstruct their bodies through the forms of surgeries, makeup, and style
of clothing, as well as engaging in various activities that match their ideal image (Kassin, Fein,
Markus, 2013). There are two ways people accomplish this, which are self presentation and
impression management. Self presentation involves the different methods people use to present
themselves, while impression management is altering the truth of who the person actually is in order
to create a favorable impression, and there are various techniques and motivations behind each of
these methods of controlling other peoples perceptions.
Self Presentation Tactics Self presentation involves the person s conscious decision of how he wants
to present himself, and this image can be a more professional, more serious, or even more strict
demeaner. According to Johann Marek, every experience. . . is able to function as psychological quasi
content and, therefore, is able to be an object of a thought that is turned inwards (2012, p. 122). To
form the self presentation, the person must decide what impression he wants to present, and then he
must determine what actions he must take to reinforce this new image, and these actions are classified
as impression management. There are several ways in which people attempt to establish and maintain
a self presentation, which include ingratiation and self promotion (Kassin et al., 2013). In regard to
ingratiation, people desire to be likable and get along with other people (Kassin et al., 2013).
However, self promotion is when a person attempts to gain peoples respect (Kassin et al., 2013).
Impression Management Techniques Like self presentation, impression management attempts to
control how people view the individual, and this process involves the individual s actions. For

Earthquakes In The Late 1800s And Early 1900s
The late 1800s and early 1900s also saw scientific inquiry into earthquakes begun by Japanese
researchers. Seikei Sekiya became the first person to be named a professor in seismometry ; he was
also one of the first people to quantitatively analyse seismic recordings from earthquakes. Secondly,
Would you believe that giant snakes, turtles, catfish, or spiders live underneath the ground, and it is
their movements that create earthquakes? Maybe you wouldn t, but your ancestors did. Ancient
peoples had many fanciful explanations for earthquakes, usually involving something large and
restless living beneath the earth s surface.
Aristotle was one of the first to attempt an explanation of earthquakes based on natural phenomena.
He postulated that winds within the earth whipped up the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These earthquakes were followed on Sunday, November 1, 1755, by a cataclysmic shock and tsunami
that killed an estimated 70,000 people, leveling the city of Lisbon, Portugal, while many of its

numerous studies into the effects, locations, and timing of earthquakes.
Prior to the Lisbon earthquake, scholars had looked almost exclusively to Aristotle, Pliny, and other
ancient classical sources for explanations of earthquakes. Following the Lisbon earthquake, this
attitude was jettisoned for one that stressed ideas based on modern observations. Cataloging of the
times and locations of earthquakes and studying the physical effects of earthquakes began in earnest,

Towards A Phenomenology Of Dwelling Summary
In Towards a Phenomenology of Dwelling, Lisa Guenther puts forth thought on dwelling, and doing
so responsibly. She brings up the idea of a person s daimon, which I like to think of as a person s
conscious. It tells you the possible things that you can do, both good and bad, but ultimately, only you
can decide what you will do. The visual of an angel and the devil sitting upon either shoulder comes to
my mind. Others are more aware of your daimon than you are, and this is because there are parts of
yourself that you do not see. Whether this be physical, like your habits, tendencies, and body language
or not visible like your desires, most of the time, others are more aware of this than you are. Desires

How Did Queen Victoria Influence British Society
Victoria was the longest reigning British monarch and the figurehead of a vast empire. She oversaw
huge changes in British society and gave her name to an age. When Queen Victoria assumed the
British throne in 1837 at the tender age of 18, she became an associated symbol with the rapid changes
that the nation of Great Britain endured to be a powerful, industrial nation that boasted an empire that
stretched across the globe . She endured many challenges during her reign, however, proved that she
possessed great stability and remained a character of virtue , honour, prosperity and, tradition to lead a
powerful nation for nearly 64 years, for much of the nineteenth century an era of great social and
technological change . At birth, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Political issues were her main interest over social issues, and she resisted technological change. Her
main political issue that she strived to amend was gaining political power for the British monarchy.
Without her knowledge, she led towards the transformation of the monarch s political role into a
traditional state. This meant that throughout the years of her reign, direct political power moved away
from the Queen. However, she was still able to exert a powerful influence over her ministers during
important political moments through her high levels of prestige, her determination to master her
knowledge of political affairs, but also her strong will and harsh sense of moral righteousness and self
discipline . Her high level of influence was especially demonstrated when she was able to successfully
mediate conflicts between the Commons and the Lords during the much debated passing of the Irish
Church Disestablishment Act of 1869 and the 1884 Reform Act. When she first became queen, there
were no clear means of the true political role of the crown let alone the permanence of the monarchy
itself. The aim of her rule was to cement the British monarchy into everyday British life. During her
early years of being queen, her political confidant was the then current British Prime Minister, Lord
Melbourne; however this role changed to her husband. Victoria was famous for her relationships with
the ever changing Prime Ministers during her time of rule which ranged from affectionate to cold. No
matter who was Prime Minister, she demanded to be informed of political matters even though she
had no political input, and necessitated all aspects of business and administrative details that occurred
in politics. Because her role did not exude copious amounts of power in the political affairs of Britain,
Queen Victoria principally engaged her role of the crown to include the monarchy

Dahl s How Democratic Is The American Constitution
How Democratic Is the American Constitution Critical Review
Kylie Kugler
Mira Costa College
Robert A. Dahl wrote How Democratic Is the American Constitution? without the purpose to change
our American Constitution but to adjust the way we think about it. Dahl raises the main question, Why
should we feel bound today by a document produced more than two centuries ago by a group of fifty
five mortal men, actually signed by only thirty nine, a fair number of whom were slaveholders, and
adopted in only thirteen states by the votes of fewer than two thousand men, all of whom are long
since dead and mainly forgotten (Dahl, 2001, page 2)? Dahl explores the Constitution as a set of basic

greatly expanded my knowledge about our American system of politics. Prior to reading the novel, I
had a very simple view of our Constitution, which in that I only ever thought of it as the structure of
our country. Dahl changed my entire perception of the Constitution and even made me appreciate it
more. Now, I know that the framers did not have a set example of a successful form of government to
base the constitution off of nor could they predict the future. That goes to show how smart the framers
were to be able to create such a brilliant and resourceful constitution in the period of time that they
did, along with the knowledge and technology of their time period. I was also unaware of how the
United States compared to other democratic countries. For example, from 1992 95 100% of countries
were performing better than the US in the topic of foreign aid. (Dahl, 2001, pg.

David Malouf s Remembering Babylon And William Golding s...
David Malouf s Remembering Babylon and William Golding s The Inheritors both explore and
criticise violent and discriminatory human nature through various techniques. Remembering Babylon
takes place in 19th Century Queensland following a young British man, Gemmy Fairley, who was
thrown overboard a ship and has grown up with aboriginals for sixteen years, and his relationship with
the new settlers. The Inheritors follows a journey of a peaceful Neanderthal tribe who are slowly
facing extinction due to the violent nature of the coexisting humans, kidnapping and murdering. Both
novels have criticised the impacts of human nature, how humans has developed and detached
themselves from nature and been drawn to violence and discrimination. Malouf and Golding employ a
range of literary techniques to express these ideas.
Malouf and Golding s narrative perspectives vary to portray a unique perspective on the issues of
human nature. Malouf writes in third person omniscient with a narrator, however changes the focus to
specific characters throughout each chapter, becoming third person limited. This allows readers to
understand the mind set of the settlers surrounding Gemmy s arrival however for the perspective to
remain unbiased. This helps display issues of human nature in an unprejudiced way as Ned Corcoran,
resident of the settlement Gemmy is brought to, thought that Gemmy was trading on the residents
goodwill (39) rather than having a positive influence on the settlement. This

Nikola Tesla Essay
Nikola Tesla was born midnight on July 10, 1856 in Smiljan, Lika, which was then part of the Austo
Hungarian Empire, region of Croatia. His father was named Milutin Tesla and was a Serbian Orthodox
Priest. Djuka Mandic was his mother and was an inventor in her own right of household appliances.
Tesla was the fourth child of five, having one older brother and 3 younger sisters. Tesla studied at the
Realschule, Karlstadt in 1873, the Polytechnic Institute in Graz, Austria and the University of Prague.
At first, he wanted to be specialized in physics and mathematics. But shortly after he became
extremely interested in electricity. He began studying alternating current their also. Supposedly he had

In New Jersey Tesla went about improving Edison s line of dynamos while working in Edison s lab. It
was here that his variation of opinion with Edison over direct current versus alternating current began.
This disagreement soon became the war of the currents as Edison fought a losing battle to protect his
investment in direct current equipment and facilities. Tesla began pointing out the worthlessness of
Edison s direct current electrical powerhouses that have been building up and down the Atlantic
seaboard. The secret, he felt, lay in the use of alternating current, because to him all energies were
cyclic. Edison s lamps were weak and worthless when supplied by direct current. This system had a
severe disadvantage in that it could not be transported more than two miles due to its incapability to
step up to high voltage levels necessary for long distance transmission. Because of this a direct current
power station was required every two miles. Direct current flows continuously in one direction;
alternating current changes direction fifty or sixty times per second and can be stepped up to vary high
voltage levels, minimizing power loss across great distances. Nikola Tesla developed polyphase
alternating current system of generators, motors and transformers. He held forty basic U.S. patents on
the system, which George Westinghouse bought, wanting to supply America with the Tesla system.
Edison did not want to lose his direct current

Texting Argument Essay
Have anyone ever wondered why literacy rates are low? Technology is a very good thing, but people
should measure their usage. All electronic devices have apps where people can communicate and even
live chat with one another. Texting is one of those things that are affecting people s brains and the
literacy rates are dropping. People need to reduce the amount of texting because some people text and
drive, and literacy rates are lower because of this.
Another term for texting would be considered sms (source B). Sms stands for short term message. Tm
is also a short term for text message (Dakin). Social Slang and slang in general is being used often

Character Analysis Of Little Snow White
In Little Snow White by Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm, there is a Queen who becomes jealous
of her seven year old daughter. She envied her daughter s beauty and sends a huntsman to kill Snow
White. Snow White is then all alone and unable to care for herself and becomes dependent of the
Seven Dwarfs. Although she is the main character, she is also the weakest character in the story. In
Fables, we encounter a very different Snow White. Here Snow White oversees the town, Fabletown.
Unlike the original fairytale story, there are no Dwarfs looking after her. She doesn t need a Prince to
come to her rescue because she is the hero in her own right. Her fierceness makes her a strong female
who embodies power. Unlike the Little Snow White, in Fables Snow White is the head in charge, she s
independent, and bold. Snow White is the head in charge who runs a town called Fabletown. She still
needs to run things by the Mayor but overall, she is the face of Fabletown. Others come to her with
their problems in hopes of a solution. Contrary to the Snow White we know from the original
fairytales where Snow White is not in charge of anything and no one comes to her for solutions.
Instead, she has the seven dwarfs looking out for her. For example, when the queen tried to kill her
they said, It must have been the queen who tried to kill you, take care, and do not let anyone in again
(Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). This shows pity on the dwarf s behalf because they knew she
was unable to care for herself. However, in Fables, Snow White is now the one looking out for others.
For example, Beauty and the Beast come to Snow White for help with their marriage. Although, Snow
White was not able to give them a solution, she was now on the opposite end of the table unlike the
young and naĂŻve Snow from the fairytale who sought others for her problems. Fables shows a great
representation of an independent woman with Snow White. After leaving the homeland and moving to
Fabletown, Snow White does not have her Prince Charming. Instead, this Snow White shows that she
can do anything she sets her mind to without any help. Something that did not occur in the fairytale
where the prince comes to her rescue and they live happily ever

Once in a small cottage deep in a thickly overgrown forest there was a young boy who lived with his

to see if they were being followed. The elder sister was extremely vexed to see that Luke had followed

three siblings became overwhelmed by the presence of a minute and delicate creature. Luke thought to
himself that this must be one of the fairies his sisters had set out to see. The pocket sized creature was
female and perfect in form. The small fairy women or Banshee in Gaelic had long golden hair and had
beauty comparable to his sisters. Fairies were widespread in Ireland however some only were found in
solitude and dislike the company of other fairy folk and especially mortals. The fairies pale skin was
intensely distinct against the black of the densely wooded forest. Luke and his sisters were in awe of
the tiny creatures presence but almost as suddenly as she had appeared the Banshee disappeared.

Colombian Culture VS American culture
Culture can be seen from the interaction of many things such as history, activities and developments.
It is also represented in the form of people live. Living in two different countries is a unique
experience that gives you a new way of thinking. In my case I have lived in Colombia and now in the
United States. Despite bearing some minor similarities, the differences between this to countries are
notable in geography, festivities, economic and food. Colombia is located in South America, is divided
into five regions: Andina, Pacifica, Caribe, Amazonica and Orinoquia. It has thirty two states.
Colombia is bordered to the north by Panama, to the east by Venezuela and Brazil, south to Peru and
Ecuador, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Colombia is the only South American country with
coastlines on the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, which has several islands as the Archipelago of
San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina. Colombia has the largest number of species per unit area
in the world, total is the second most diverse country in the world after Brazil. United Sates is located

Ciabatta Bread History
In the history of art there are periods when bread seems so beautiful that it nearly gets into museums.
(Janet Flanner, Paris Was Yesterday, 1925 1939). Bread comes in a myriad of forms, flavors, shapes,
and sizes. To millions of people every day it is a source of nutrients, a way of filling their stomachs
with something their body needs. To others, it is a form of art, a chef or baker s life and soul poured
into their creation. Whichever way you see it, bread is a part of our lives, as well as our history.
Ciabatta bread has its roots in Italy, with numerous regions taking claim to be the originators. The

Even though each of these battles led him closer to his death, he still continued without any hesitation,

Without Beowulf s protection, Herot will be in great danger, which again, shows that he just used his
physical strength in order to gain glory without thinking of the outcome. Unlike King Arthur and
Beowulf, who don t use any moral thought into their actions, the two brothers, Xbalanque and
Hunaphu use their intelligence and trickery to defeat the lords of Xibalba. They intertwined the
trickster archetype, which, is a character that is defenseless in physical strength but uses quick
thinking to outwit his opponent (Vogler 78) and the hero archetype. The combination goes against the
meaning conveyed by the monomyth because it focus is not emphasized on the hero and how he
glorifies through power and combat. The focus is now on triumphing through trickery and genius,
which lead Xbalanque and Hunaphu to success in every way. They figure out the appropriate way in
handling their enemies, One and Seven Death by convincing them in order to get what they wanted.

becoming a CEO is becoming a lower wage worker at the company you wish to move up in. There are
some degrees that will be especially useful for the long term goal of obtaining the position of CEO in
a company, but before covering requirements and strategies, let s look at a basic job description of the
Chief Executive position. A Chief Executive has one responsibility; to do everything necessary to
ensure the success of a company. There is no explicit checklist of things a CEO is expected to do, they

Confidentiality
Rules of Confidentiality
Confidentiality is the protection of someone s personal information. Confidentiality means keeping the
information between you and the client, and not telling others such as co workers, friends, family etc.
Discussing Client Details and Permission
If you start talking to people about what someone has or where they live then they may tell other
people. 10 people could tell 10 other people. Those 100 people could tell 10 other people. Sometimes
confidentiality needs to be broken. If it endangers someone or a group of people or if it something
illegal. If someone talks about their past they may want to tell you only. Some people can be labelled

Handling and Storing Client Records In a care home, records need to be private and need to be kept
away from the public as it breaks the rules of confidentiality. It needs to be kept somewhere safe and
private. If you are visiting someone s house, you need to keep your documents on your person or in a
vehicle that you or the company owns, locking the documents in a secure container. They should be
kept away from children as well. Details should not be shared with members of the public or other
member of staff. You can tell staff if you ultimately need to or if you have permission to tell
family/staff.
Dignity
Maintaining Dignity
Dignity is the state or quality of being worthy of honour or respect. If you talk about someone s
condition and joke about it then you are not giving them dignity. Treat everyone as a unique person. If
you laugh or joke around about their condition to their face tor ridicule them this is not giving them
the dignity they deserve. Some people if they are being cared for may feel like they are losing dignity
as they cannot dress or clean themselves. Some nurses make fun of the patient. This can lead to them
losing confidence. If someone does lose confidence then you should still respect them and treat them
with dignity. Some people might get angry if they have someone else washing them as it could be seen

The Impact Of The Second Sino-Japanese War
The Second Sino Japanese War was a bloody experience to both China and Japan. The aggression of
Japan in Second Sino Japanese War eventually broke out the Pacific War and dragged China into the
Second World War. There were various significant incidents occurred during the Second Sino
Japanese War, thus, became the most controversial issues since then in the Sino Japanese relationship.
This chapter will focus on some contentious incidents during the Second Sino Japanese War and the
Second World War.
One of the prime issues during this period is the Nanjing Massacre, or sometimes known as the Rape
of Nanjing . It shows the brutality of Japanese military and the unforgivable and unforgettable incident

Since the end of the 1990s, there was a baodiao [保釣, which means defending Diaoyu] campaign
which emerged in mainland China (He, 2007 14). In March, 2004, these baodiao activists actually
succeeded in landing on the Senkaku islands (He, 2007, 14) (Yukio, 2012), as an act to protest the
claims from Japan. These baodiao movement is associated with the anti Japanese movement. They
also registered as a formal organization, known as the China Federation for Defending the Diaoyu

The Third Wish, By Joan Aiken
Many stories that have wishes have something about how the wish do not go very well. There are
stories such as The Third Wish by Joan Aiken that are almost based off of this. The story The Third
Wish, exemplifies the theme be careful what you wish for in almost every way.
In the story the main character, Mr. Peters has some run ins with some swans, and they show being
careful what you wish for. One run in with a swan is when he is driving along a road when he comes
across a swan stuck in a bush. He rescues the swan and gets three wishes. When he rescues the swan
the swan tells him, Well I have yet to hear of the human being who made any good use of his three

The Effects Of Sex Hormones On The Development Of...
Abstract
Gender differences have been recorded by researches from single neurons in the cell to system level
processes (Cahill 2006), and certain scientists proposed that sex hormones influence the development
of prefrontal cortex, and this is supposed to be the cause of the differences in working memory
performance (Duff Hampson, 2001). This study further investigated the existence and nature of this
gender difference. A sample of 497 Monash University psychology undergraduates (385 females and
112 males; ages 18 64) were recruited for this study. Working memory performance was tested with
online spatial working memory test, and 2D:4D finger length ratio was used as an indirect measure of
sex hormone levels. The results revealed no sex differences in the working memory performance, but
variance in 2D:4D ratio females had a larger ratio than males. Memory reaction time was negatively
correlated with 2D:4D ratio, thus, females had a quicker reaction time.
Introduction
Differences related to gender in spatial memory are most widely described and studied of cognitive
sex differences. In 1974 Maccoby and Jacklin established that males usually perform better than
females in measures of spatial performance, and this discovery has been constantly replicated in
multiple studies covering various developmental stages (McGivern et al. 1997; Lewin et al. 2001) and
spatial tasks (Dabbs Jr. et al. 1998; Driscoll et al. 2005).

Immortal Technique s Song Industrial Revolution
In the song Industrial Revolution, musical artist and activist Felipe Andres Coronel, better known by
his stage name, Immortal Technique, emphasizes numerous societal and governmental issues in the
United States. In a similar way to Killer Mike, Technique uses specific historical events and facts to
project the corruption and manipulation that citizens in the United States are exposed to. The chorus
along with each of his verses are stacked with unrelenting attacks on the injustices of society. Many
expletive, vivid lyrics help to map out the general unrest and overall uneasy feelings of an entire
population in modern society.
The most stressed lyrics that carry the overall tone and theme reside in the chorus of the tune. This is
the business, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The result of the Industrial Revolution was a major economic boom in capitalism which led to some
individuals gaining major wealth, but leaving a majority of the population laboring in factories and
living in poverty. Technique emphasizes how nothing is free in a capitalist society. Although joining
the army to try and gain access to a job and education seems free, it comes with the cost of one s life
serving in war. The next line in the chorus talks about the devil, who serves as a recurring symbol in
many works of past musical activists such as Gil Scott Heron and Killer Mike. Immortal Technique
constantly attempts to dismantle the reputation of hip hop stars who falsely claim to have had a rough
life to sell the idea of black culture and image of the ghetto by playing broke. Not only does the devil
represent a powerful, manipulating force in capitalism, but a fake artist who Immortal Technique
claims he will inevitably destroy and exploit. In the third line of the chorus, Technique mentions the
reparations of restitution that is owed by fake rap artists for the damage that their rubbish has caused
to the rap game. The final line gets back to the idea of big industry having a deadly

The Similarities Of The Flood Characters Of Gilgamesh And...
Though Gilgamesh and Genesis are completely different stories, they both contain flood narratives
that have similarities and differences within each. The three comparable points in these texts deal with
the gods and heroes of the stories. First the gods in these narratives all have a specific reason behind
their decision to wipe out mankind. Second the unique characteristics of the heroes or survivors of the
flood are shown throughout the events of the texts. Finally the gods who bring these floods upon earth
all reveal their qualities through their actions against humanity. These three topics relate from one
book to another in many ways. Before each of the floods there are reasons that each god decides to
eliminate the people on earth. In Gilgamesh the god Enlil chooses to destroy humanity with a flood
because it is the best way to get rid of the individuals who have sinned. After the flood the god Ea says
Let him who has performed an evil act be punished for that act. Let not the flood be brought down on
the heads of all for what one man has done... (Ferry 74). This statement shows how Enlil punished all
of mankind when most of them weren t to blame. On the contrary, in Genesis Gods motive for
destroying humanity with a flood is that the world was turning evil and cruel, which was not what God
intended. God s thoughts are shown through the following quote The Lord saw that the wickedness of
man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his

The Economic Theory Of The Mundell-Drinking Model
The Mundell Fleming model is an economic model introduced by Robert Mundell and Marcus
Fleming. This model is an extension of the IS LM model. The traditional IS LM model studies a
closed economy (autarky), whereas the Mundell Fleming model explains an open economy with a
small size (Mundell, 1963). The model explains the mechanism of an economy that is open to foreign
trade for goods and financial assets, and gives economists a structure to analyze macroeconomic
policies. This model describes the relationship between an economy s nominal exchange rate, interest
rate and its output in the short run. With the model, many claim that an economy cannot have an
independent monetary policy, a fixed exchange rate and free capital movement at the same time. This
theory is often called the impossible trinity or the Mundell Fleming trilemma. According to this
theory, a nation has three choices. First, it can have a fixed exchange rate for its currency with another
and let capital flow freely across borders. Second, the country can set its own monetary policy and let
capital flow freely. Third, it can have its own monetary policy and a fixed exchange rate. However, the
country cannot simultaneously have a fixed exchange rate, free flow of capital and its own monetary
policy.
There are three curves in the graph of the Mundell Fleming model. In an open economy, equilibrium is
achieved in the goods market when production is equal to the demand for goods. The
investment/saving (IS) curve represents the value of equilibrium for different interest rates. As higher
interest rates discourage production through its impact on investment, the IS curve is negatively
sloped. The supply and demand for money determine the interest rate in an economy. The liquidity
preference/money supply (LM) curve represents the relationship between money and liquidity. Since
higher income leads to stronger demand for money, interest rate is an increasing function of output
level; hence, the LM curve is positively sloped. The balance of payment (BP) curve shows the
combinations of interest rate and real income where the balance of payment is in equilibrium, which
means that net export must be equal to net capital outflows. The BP curve is usually

Schopenhauer Doctrine Of Transcendentalism
The Schopenhauer s doctrine of Transcendental Idealism states that the existence of the world as
representation is dependent on a subject and for that, there is no external world without a subject. The
purpose of this paper is to explain the Schopenhauer s doctrine of transcendental idealism. The
fundamental idea of Schopenhauer s transcendental idealism is that the external world the world of
space, time, and causality is dependent on a subject to perceive it. World as a representation is a set of
objects that are in relation to each other. Schopenhauer refers to the world as my representation, which

Wind, Earthquake And Its Effect On The Earthquake Essay
Unlike wind, earthquake is a different phenomenon which generates a ground motion. The intensity or
acceleration of the earthquake depends upon the magnitude and location of its epicenter. The seismic
waves caused by the earthquake cause inertial forces in the building. The inertial forces are created
when an outside force tries to move a body in rest which happens in this case as seismic waves tries
the move the building in rest. We all know that when a building is subjected to inertial forces it should
obey the newton s second law of motion.
F=M.a (3)
Where F is inertial force and M denotes mass of building and a is the acceleration with which the
building is moved due to seismic activity.
Duration, velocity and displacement:
From the newton s second law, it is evident that acceleration is a key factor in determining the forces
on a building. But there is one more criteria that we have to look into is the duration of the earthquake.
Earthquake that has moderate acceleration, sustained over time, can cause much more damage to
buildings than a single much larger peak. It weakens the building structure and reduces its durability.
The strong motion duration is often termed as bracketed duration (Arnold 2013). This is the shaking
duration above a certain threshold acceleration value, which is 0.05g, and is defined as the time
between the first and last peaks of motion that exceeds this threshold value (Arnold 2013). The strong
motion

In the closing paragraph of the piece, Jackie Robinson pronounces how he believes in humanity, man s
rectitude, and the morality of a liberated country. These qualities constitute the essence of
righteousness. Uprightness is the property of being morally right or justifiable. Within this
characteristic, society relies on fairness, independence, and justice. To correlate to the composition,
Jackie Robinson struggled for equality and for freedom of his race. African Americans were never
allowed to engage in the majors before Robinson came to the plate. Therefore, he was able to open up
a door of possibility for the lower class and brought a sense of optimism and determination. He strived

Deontological And Teleological Ethics
Introduction This essay will include the background and development of deontological and
teleological ethics. Also, it will compare and contrast the absolute and relative ethics. Finally, it will
contain the ethical issues which can affect the operational activities of the business. In order to support
the points, it will also include the real life examples. AC 1.1 Background and development of ethical
approaches Teleological ethic this describes an ethical theory which judges the rightness of an action
in terms of an external goal or purpose. So, according to a teleological theory, consequences always
play some part, be it small or large, in the determination of what one should or should not do. Not all
teleological theories are consequentialist. John Rawls theory of justice is teleological, but not
consequentialist because it claims that consequences are only part of what must be considered when
determining what policy is morally just. For example, animal testing is the moral choice to put animal
through pain or not. The reason behind defining animal testing in a make up factory it is for a greater
good as if the animal gets hurt now, people are saved later as people will be able to use the products
that are developed and safe to use later. This is teleological because the moral choice was decided
upon the probability of a good outcome: the animal is tested upon, people would be able to get a safe
makeup products. A consequentialist action is one where the being

My Presentation Of A Training Program

How far do you agree that the Hundred Flowers campaign was a trick designed by Mao to trap his
opponents?
The Hundred Flowers Campaign began in 1957 when Mao Zedong declared in a speech, Let a
hundred schools of thought contend, effectively encouraging criticism from members of the Chinese
Communist Party. After members began pointing out where the party had made mistakes, however,
Mao suddenly reversed this new policy and began the Anti Rightist Movement, condemning the critics
whose opinions he had just previously invited. Was the Hundred Flowers Campaign a trick designed
by Mao to trap his opponents?

Mao s retaliation was severe, precise, and on an enormously large scale. He was obviously poised to
attack, and this hints that the Hundred Flowers Campaign was merely a wily method of enticing Mao s
prey.
There is, on the other hand, much evidence to support that the campaign was a genuine attempt at
reform. In his Contradictions speech, given to leading party workers in early 1957, Mao complained
of the oppressive way some party officials were applying policies and hinted that it was time to begin
permitting intellectuals to voice their opinions. Furthermore, in 1956, he had been tolerant of Hu Feng,
a writer who challenged the idea that all artistic merit should be judged based on Marxist Leninist
values, even as other CCP leaders viciously censured him. These two examples show that Mao,
although previously disdainful of intellectuals, may have begun to see their importance, and thus may
have been honestly inviting their criticism when the Hundred Flowers Campaign began.
In addition, the launching of the Hundred Flowers Campaign may have been triggered by events in
other communist states rather than a desire to trick party opponents. In 1956, Soviet Union leader
Nikita Khrushchev launched an attack on the previous leader Joseph Stalin, dead now for three years,
and his cult of personality, Mao probably saw how his own popularity adulating portraits of him were

Benjamin Franklin was a Political Hero in Sheila Kemp s...
Sheila Kemp did an outstanding job in her short history of one of America s most treasured arguably
the most looked up to political heroes. Whether the Cockpit had as astounding an effect on Franklin s
political career, and the defining moment that pushed him on the path as an advocate for independence
is up for argument. Did Kemp adequately protect her position: that Benjamin Franklin became a
revolutionary after his incident at the Cockpit? The questions seem to be answerable morally, as well
as historically. In truth, Kemp defended her position with as much armor as she could smith whilst

historical information. Thus, in this review the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Kemp, Franklin was merely representing the wrong colony at the wrong time. And said
that, although events in Massachusetts put Franklin on the hot seat, there was an underlying reason for
Wedderburn s attacks. Some of which were inherent, for instance, the ideologies between American
Colonists and the British Elite were very much different than how Franklin imagined the Empire. He
believed that all colonists were grateful to be part of the Empire, and even went as far as to advocate
ill fated taxes to be introduced to the Colonies in an attempt to relieve some british debt. Furthermore,
to the british mind, taxes that were being legislated were perfectly within the Empire s right, and that
every time taxes became too overwhelming, British officials would back down against resistance.
Such was the case for the Stamp Act which was enacted in 1765 and repealed in 1766 after riots broke
out in the Colonies.
In the case of Franklin, exasperations also gave way to his eventual disenfranchisement of the Empire.
His own pride was destroyed at the cockpit that day, something Franklin was no stranger to and
definitely was unable to handle in a casual fashion. Thus, Kemp adamantly claims throughout her
work that Franklin saw his opposition to the Empire, as a personal and not entirely a political issue as
he once did. Kemp states, Franklin lived in a place where social status

Autism- Developmental Disability
Autism is a developmental disability that significantly affect a person s verbal and nonverbal
communication, social interaction, and educational performance. This developmental disability affects
the brain, communication and interaction with others. People with this disability often have trouble
relating and forming relationships with other people. Autism occurs very early on in the development
of the brain. The most obvious signs can be found at the ages of two or three years old.
There is no known single cause of autism. however, it is generally accepted that autism is caused by
abnormalities in the brain. Autism has been linked to genetic and environmental factors. Researchers
have identified a number of genes associated with the disorder.
There are six main characteristics of autism. They include: atypical language and development,
atypical social development, repetitive behavior, problem behavior, sensory and movement disorder,
and differences in intellectual functioning. People with autism have a broad range of language abilities
ranging from no verbal communication to quite complex communication.
Autism causes atypical social behaviors such as social interaction and social skills. people with autism
have a lack of reciprocity and they do not share enjoyments, achievements, and interests with others.
Sometimes they can have difficulty making friends. People with autism are often confused about the
appropriate social behaviors.

  • 2. What Are The Cause Of The 2008 Financial Crisis As evolution proceeds through time, it carries the gift of facilitation and intelligence. However, in today s intellectually advanced society there has been a cloud of egotism that has decimated mortality and integrity amongst individuals in an unpredictable economy. The financial crisis that took place from 2007 2009 was based on the lack of moral judgment and a surplus of gluttony that affected the united states economy drastically. This crisis is primarily based on the negligence of banks by granting loan opportunities to individuals who do not qualify due to bad credit score, lack of assets to make a down payment, employment status. However, numerous banks had predicted and were aware that most of the individuals who applied for a loan and did not qualify would default on their mortgage, which would allow banks to repossess the house and sell it for maximum value. ... • 3. The Civil War Essay The Civil War In this meeting of the Southern Historical Association great emphasis has been placed upon a re examination of numerous phases of our history relating to the Civil War. While several papers have dealt with certain forces which helped bring about the Civil War, none has attempted a general synthesis of causes. This synthesis has been the task assumed by the retiring president of the Association. Before attempting to say what were the causes of the American Civil War, first let me say what were not the causes of this war. Perhaps the most beautiful, the most poetic, the most eloquent statement of what the Civil War was not fought for is Lincoln s Gettysburg Address. That address will live as long as Americans retain their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A systematic study of both northern and southern opinion as expressed in their newspapers, speeches, diaries, and private letters, gives irrefutable evidence in support of this assertion. Their ideology was democratic and identical. However, theoretical adherence to the democratic principles, as veil we know all too well in these days of plutocratic influences in our political life, is not sufficient evidence that democratic government exists. I believe that I shall not be challenged in the assertion that the economic structure of a section or a nation is the foundation upon which its political structure must rest. For this reason, therefore, it will be necessary to know what the economic foundations of these sections were. Was the economic structure of the North such as to support a political democracy in fact as well as in form? And was the economic structure of the South such as to permit the existence of free government? Time does not permit an extended treatment of this subject; it will be possible only to point out certain conclusions based upon recent research. By utilizing the county tax books and the unpublished census reports a group of us conducting a cooperative undertaking have been able to obtain a reasonably accurate and specific picture of wealth structure of the antebellum South, and to some extent that of the other sections. • 4. The Military During World War One James Frances Ryan is a private of the military during World War One. After his mother has receive condolences letters stating that three of her four sons have been killed in combat, there is an urgent need to save private Ryan and bring him home. Throughout this entire film, I felt a sense of pride and uneasiness. I felt pride because of the fact that our country took into consideration the way that this mother has to feel after losing three of her four children and the need to save her last child so that he can return home to comfort her. I felt a sense of uneasiness because I knew that despite the fact that they were doing this out of the good in their hearts, it wouldn t be an easy task to complete because lives would be lost since they are still at war. Not only to they have to fight for their lives but also try to find another person who they ve never met and get him back safely. There are 3 specific scene throughout this film that I believe are crucial to the understanding and the emotions I felt while watching it. The opening scene of this film definitely sets the tone for what is about to happen throughout this entire movie. While they are on the ship approaching the shore of Omaha Beach you can sense the tension and fear of the soldiers. They are shaking, throwing up, saying prayers all before they have to unload the ship and begin the war. The shots of this scene are very close up. • 5. Research Paper On Airbus A380 The biggest commercial aircraft on the market right now is the Airbus A380. This amazing feat of engineering is so spectacular that it is the biggest that a commercial aircraft can be! The airbus A380 can be described in many different ways, most people call it spectacular or even just flat out amazing that something this big can even get off the ground. While the industry continues to make improvements to flight, they are also keeping the costs down, so that anyone flying can experience flying in an Airbus, especially if they are traveling abroad. Many would say that the idea of building the Airbus was thought of by a French transport minister named Jean Chamant and a German economics minister, named Karl Schiller in 1969, but in all actuality, the idea was originated in in 1967 by ministers in France, Germany and Britain. They all agreed for the purpose of strengthening European co operation in the field of aviation technology and thereby promoting economic and technological progress in Europe, to take appropriate measures for the joint development and production of an airbus (Early Days, 1967 1969). They knew that if they did not come up with a new concept for air flight, that the Americans would always be the leaders in the aircraft industry. They knew it would take the effort of not just one country, but many that had built different aspects of planes, and were well known for that contribution. • 6. Self-Presentation Vs. Impression Management Self Presentation Versus Impression Management There is no surprise that the way a person presents himself to others impacts how they will respond to him. Most often, people will attempt to present themselves in a positive manner in order to gain friends, likes and comments on social media, and even a romantic relationship. In order to achieve their ideal image of how they want others to perceive them, people will attempt to reconstruct their bodies through the forms of surgeries, makeup, and style of clothing, as well as engaging in various activities that match their ideal image (Kassin, Fein, Markus, 2013). There are two ways people accomplish this, which are self presentation and impression management. Self presentation involves the different methods people use to present themselves, while impression management is altering the truth of who the person actually is in order to create a favorable impression, and there are various techniques and motivations behind each of these methods of controlling other peoples perceptions. Self Presentation Tactics Self presentation involves the person s conscious decision of how he wants to present himself, and this image can be a more professional, more serious, or even more strict demeaner. According to Johann Marek, every experience. . . is able to function as psychological quasi content and, therefore, is able to be an object of a thought that is turned inwards (2012, p. 122). To form the self presentation, the person must decide what impression he wants to present, and then he must determine what actions he must take to reinforce this new image, and these actions are classified as impression management. There are several ways in which people attempt to establish and maintain a self presentation, which include ingratiation and self promotion (Kassin et al., 2013). In regard to ingratiation, people desire to be likable and get along with other people (Kassin et al., 2013). However, self promotion is when a person attempts to gain peoples respect (Kassin et al., 2013). Impression Management Techniques Like self presentation, impression management attempts to control how people view the individual, and this process involves the individual s actions. For ... Seikei Sekiya became the first person to be named a professor in seismometry ; he was also one of the first people to quantitatively analyse seismic recordings from earthquakes. Secondly, Would you believe that giant snakes, turtles, catfish, or spiders live underneath the ground, and it is their movements that create earthquakes? Maybe you wouldn t, but your ancestors did. She brings up the idea of a person s daimon, which I like to think of as a person s conscious. It tells you the possible things that you can do, both good and bad, but ultimately, only you can decide what you will do. The visual of an angel and the devil sitting upon either shoulder comes to my mind. Others are more aware of your daimon than you are, and this is because there are parts of yourself that you do not see. Whether this be physical, like your habits, tendencies, and body language or not visible like your desires, most of the time, others are more aware of this than you are. She oversaw huge changes in British society and gave her name to an age. When Queen Victoria assumed the British throne in 1837 at the tender age of 18, she became an associated symbol with the rapid changes that the nation of Great Britain endured to be a powerful, industrial nation that boasted an empire that stretched across the globe . Her main political issue that she strived to amend was gaining political power for the British monarchy. Without her knowledge, she led towards the transformation of the monarch s political role into a traditional state. This meant that throughout the years of her reign, direct political power moved away from the Queen. However, she was still able to exert a powerful influence over her ministers during important political moments through her high levels of prestige, her determination to master her knowledge of political affairs, but also her strong will and harsh sense of moral righteousness and self discipline . Her high level of influence was especially demonstrated when she was able to successfully mediate conflicts between the Commons and the Lords during the much debated passing of the Irish Church Disestablishment Act of 1869 and the 1884 Reform Act. When she first became queen, there were no clear means of the true political role of the crown let alone the permanence of the monarchy itself. The aim of her rule was to cement the British monarchy into everyday British life. During her early years of being queen, her political confidant was the then current British Prime Minister, Lord Melbourne; however this role changed to her husband. Victoria was famous for her relationships with the ever changing Prime Ministers during her time of rule which ranged from affectionate to cold. No matter who was Prime Minister, she demanded to be informed of political matters even though she had no political input, and necessitated all aspects of business and administrative details that occurred in politics. Because her role did not exude copious amounts of power in the political affairs of Britain, Queen Victoria principally engaged her role of the crown to include the monarchy ... Dahl wrote How Democratic Is the American Constitution? without the purpose to change our American Constitution but to adjust the way we think about it. David Malouf s Remembering Babylon and William Golding s The Inheritors both explore and criticise violent and discriminatory human nature through various techniques. Remembering Babylon takes place in 19th Century Queensland following a young British man, Gemmy Fairley, who was thrown overboard a ship and has grown up with aboriginals for sixteen years, and his relationship with the new settlers. The Inheritors follows a journey of a peaceful Neanderthal tribe who are slowly facing extinction due to the violent nature of the coexisting humans, kidnapping and murdering. Both novels have criticised the impacts of human nature, how humans has developed and detached themselves from nature and been drawn to violence and discrimination. Malouf and Golding employ a range of literary techniques to express these ideas. Malouf and Golding s narrative perspectives vary to portray a unique perspective on the issues of human nature. Malouf writes in third person omniscient with a narrator, however changes the focus to specific characters throughout each chapter, becoming third person limited. This allows readers to understand the mind set of the settlers surrounding Gemmy s arrival however for the perspective to remain unbiased. This helps display issues of human nature in an unprejudiced way as Ned Corcoran, resident of the settlement Gemmy is brought to, thought that Gemmy was trading on the residents goodwill (39) rather than having a positive influence on the settlement. It was here that his variation of opinion with Edison over direct current versus alternating current began. This disagreement soon became the war of the currents as Edison fought a losing battle to protect his investment in direct current equipment and facilities. Tesla began pointing out the worthlessness of Edison s direct current electrical powerhouses that have been building up and down the Atlantic seaboard. The secret, he felt, lay in the use of alternating current, because to him all energies were cyclic. Edison s lamps were weak and worthless when supplied by direct current. This system had a severe disadvantage in that it could not be transported more than two miles due to its incapability to step up to high voltage levels necessary for long distance transmission. Because of this a direct current power station was required every two miles. Direct current flows continuously in one direction; alternating current changes direction fifty or sixty times per second and can be stepped up to vary high voltage levels, minimizing power loss across great distances. Nikola Tesla developed polyphase alternating current system of generators, motors and transformers. He held forty basic U.S. patents on the system, which George Westinghouse bought, wanting to supply America with the Tesla system. Edison did not want to lose his direct current ... • 14. Character Analysis Of Little Snow White In Little Snow White by Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm, there is a Queen who becomes jealous of her seven year old daughter. She envied her daughter s beauty and sends a huntsman to kill Snow White. Snow White is then all alone and unable to care for herself and becomes dependent of the Seven Dwarfs. Although she is the main character, she is also the weakest character in the story. In Fables, we encounter a very different Snow White. Here Snow White oversees the town, Fabletown. Unlike the original fairytale story, there are no Dwarfs looking after her. She doesn t need a Prince to come to her rescue because she is the hero in her own right. Her fierceness makes her a strong female who embodies power. Unlike the Little Snow White, in Fables Snow White is the head in charge, she s independent, and bold. Snow White is the head in charge who runs a town called Fabletown. She still needs to run things by the Mayor but overall, she is the face of Fabletown. Others come to her with their problems in hopes of a solution. Contrary to the Snow White we know from the original fairytales where Snow White is not in charge of anything and no one comes to her for solutions. Instead, she has the seven dwarfs looking out for her. For example, when the queen tried to kill her they said, It must have been the queen who tried to kill you, take care, and do not let anyone in again (Germany, Jacob, and Wilhelm Grimm). This shows pity on the dwarf s behalf because they knew she was unable to care for herself. However, in Fables, Snow White is now the one looking out for others. For example, Beauty and the Beast come to Snow White for help with their marriage. Although, Snow White was not able to give them a solution, she was now on the opposite end of the table unlike the young and naĂŻve Snow from the fairytale who sought others for her problems. Fables shows a great representation of an independent woman with Snow White. After leaving the homeland and moving to Fabletown, Snow White does not have her Prince Charming. Abstract Gender differences have been recorded by researches from single neurons in the cell to system level processes (Cahill 2006), and certain scientists proposed that sex hormones influence the development of prefrontal cortex, and this is supposed to be the cause of the differences in working memory performance (Duff Hampson, 2001). This study further investigated the existence and nature of this gender difference. A sample of 497 Monash University psychology undergraduates (385 females and 112 males; ages 18 64) were recruited for this study. Working memory performance was tested with online spatial working memory test, and 2D:4D finger length ratio was used as an indirect measure of sex hormone levels. The results revealed no sex differences in the working memory performance, but variance in 2D:4D ratio females had a larger ratio than males. Memory reaction time was negatively correlated with 2D:4D ratio, thus, females had a quicker reaction time. This statement shows how Enlil punished all of mankind when most of them weren t to blame. On the contrary, in Genesis Gods motive for destroying humanity with a flood is that the world was turning evil and cruel, which was not what God intended. God s thoughts are shown through the following quote The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his ... • 29. The Economic Theory Of The Mundell-Drinking Model The Mundell Fleming model is an economic model introduced by Robert Mundell and Marcus Fleming. This model is an extension of the IS LM model. The traditional IS LM model studies a closed economy (autarky), whereas the Mundell Fleming model explains an open economy with a small size (Mundell, 1963). The model explains the mechanism of an economy that is open to foreign trade for goods and financial assets, and gives economists a structure to analyze macroeconomic policies. This model describes the relationship between an economy s nominal exchange rate, interest rate and its output in the short run. With the model, many claim that an economy cannot have an independent monetary policy, a fixed exchange rate and free capital movement at the same time. This theory is often called the impossible trinity or the Mundell Fleming trilemma. According to this theory, a nation has three choices. First, it can have a fixed exchange rate for its currency with another and let capital flow freely across borders. Second, the country can set its own monetary policy and let capital flow freely. Third, it can have its own monetary policy and a fixed exchange rate. However, the country cannot simultaneously have a fixed exchange rate, free flow of capital and its own monetary policy. There are three curves in the graph of the Mundell Fleming model. In an open economy, equilibrium is achieved in the goods market when production is equal to the demand for goods. The investment/saving (IS) curve represents the value of equilibrium for different interest rates. As higher interest rates discourage production through its impact on investment, the IS curve is negatively sloped. The supply and demand for money determine the interest rate in an economy. The liquidity preference/money supply (LM) curve represents the relationship between money and liquidity. Since higher income leads to stronger demand for money, interest rate is an increasing function of output level; hence, the LM curve is positively sloped. The balance of payment (BP) curve shows the combinations of interest rate and real income where the balance of payment is in equilibrium, which means that net export must be equal to net capital outflows. The BP curve is usually ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Schopenhauer Doctrine Of Transcendentalism The Schopenhauer s doctrine of Transcendental Idealism states that the existence of the world as representation is dependent on a subject and for that, there is no external world without a subject. The purpose of this paper is to explain the Schopenhauer s doctrine of transcendental idealism. The fundamental idea of Schopenhauer s transcendental idealism is that the external world the world of space, time, and causality is dependent on a subject to perceive it. World as a representation is a set of objects that are in relation to each other. • 32. Wind, Earthquake And Its Effect On The Earthquake Essay Unlike wind, earthquake is a different phenomenon which generates a ground motion. The intensity or acceleration of the earthquake depends upon the magnitude and location of its epicenter. The seismic waves caused by the earthquake cause inertial forces in the building. The inertial forces are created when an outside force tries to move a body in rest which happens in this case as seismic waves tries the move the building in rest. We all know that when a building is subjected to inertial forces it should obey the newton s second law of motion. F=M.a (3) Where F is inertial force and M denotes mass of building and a is the acceleration with which the building is moved due to seismic activity. Duration, velocity and displacement: From the newton s second law, it is evident that acceleration is a key factor in determining the forces on a building. But there is one more criteria that we have to look into is the duration of the earthquake. Earthquake that has moderate acceleration, sustained over time, can cause much more damage to buildings than a single much larger peak. It weakens the building structure and reduces its durability. The strong motion duration is often termed as bracketed duration (Arnold 2013). This is the shaking duration above a certain threshold acceleration value, which is 0.05g, and is defined as the time between the first and last peaks of motion that exceeds this threshold value (Arnold 2013). • 34. Deontological And Teleological Ethics Introduction This essay will include the background and development of deontological and teleological ethics. Also, it will compare and contrast the absolute and relative ethics. Finally, it will contain the ethical issues which can affect the operational activities of the business. In order to support the points, it will also include the real life examples. AC 1.1 Background and development of ethical approaches Teleological ethic this describes an ethical theory which judges the rightness of an action in terms of an external goal or purpose. So, according to a teleological theory, consequences always play some part, be it small or large, in the determination of what one should or should not do. Not all teleological theories are consequentialist. John Rawls theory of justice is teleological, but not consequentialist because it claims that consequences are only part of what must be considered when determining what policy is morally just. For example, animal testing is the moral choice to put animal through pain or not. The reason behind defining animal testing in a make up factory it is for a greater good as if the animal gets hurt now, people are saved later as people will be able to use the products that are developed and safe to use later. This is teleological because the moral choice was decided upon the probability of a good outcome: the animal is tested upon, people would be able to get a safe makeup products. I can already see the finish line off in the distance, it is still pretty far away but closing in fast. At this point in the race to the end of the semester I am glad I am going through a training program called public speaking. There is no way possible I would be over the hill looking down with the finish line in sight, if it wasn t for this exercise program. This program has been getting me in shape every day since the start. With two presentations complete I felt a little more confident in my abilities to give a presentation. I would like to think that I am getting better and better with every opportunity I am given to speak. My presentation three was an overall improvement off of my presentation two. I took skills from my first two presentations and blended them with new acquired skills to strengthen Presentation three. In presentation three, the order I presented my points were; Notable athletes in the pay to play scandal, the pro s of collegiate athletes getting paid, and the con s of collegiate athletes getting paid. I chose to do tell the audience about the notable pay to play athletes first because it gives them a little background information on the topic. The Hundred Flowers Campaign began in 1957 when Mao Zedong declared in a speech, Let a hundred schools of thought contend, effectively encouraging criticism from members of the Chinese Communist Party. After members began pointing out where the party had made mistakes, however, Mao suddenly reversed this new policy and began the Anti Rightist Movement, condemning the critics whose opinions he had just previously invited. He was obviously poised to attack, and this hints that the Hundred Flowers Campaign was merely a wily method of enticing Mao s prey. There is, on the other hand, much evidence to support that the campaign was a genuine attempt at reform. In his Contradictions speech, given to leading party workers in early 1957, Mao complained of the oppressive way some party officials were applying policies and hinted that it was time to begin permitting intellectuals to voice their opinions. Furthermore, in 1956, he had been tolerant of Hu Feng, a writer who challenged the idea that all artistic merit should be judged based on Marxist Leninist values, even as other CCP leaders viciously censured him. These two examples show that Mao, although previously disdainful of intellectuals, may have begun to see their importance, and thus may have been honestly inviting their criticism when the Hundred Flowers Campaign began. In addition, the launching of the Hundred Flowers Campaign may have been triggered by events in other communist states rather than a desire to trick party opponents. In 1956, Soviet Union leader Nikita Khrushchev launched an attack on the previous leader Joseph Stalin, dead now for three years, and his cult of personality, Mao probably saw how his own popularity adulating portraits of him were being hung everywhere could also be ... Sheila Kemp did an outstanding job in her short history of one of America s most treasured arguably the most looked up to political heroes. Whether the Cockpit had as astounding an effect on Franklin s political career, and the defining moment that pushed him on the path as an advocate for independence is up for argument. Did Kemp adequately protect her position: that Benjamin Franklin became a revolutionary after his incident at the Cockpit? The questions seem to be answerable morally, as well as historically. In truth, Kemp defended her position with as much armor as she could smith whilst writing her definingly short biography, but sometimes lost her argument in midst of a flood of historical information. Thus, in this review the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to Kemp, Franklin was merely representing the wrong colony at the wrong time. And said that, although events in Massachusetts put Franklin on the hot seat, there was an underlying reason for Wedderburn s attacks. Some of which were inherent, for instance, the ideologies between American Colonists and the British Elite were very much different than how Franklin imagined the Empire. He believed that all colonists were grateful to be part of the Empire, and even went as far as to advocate ill fated taxes to be introduced to the Colonies in an attempt to relieve some british debt. Furthermore, to the british mind, taxes that were being legislated were perfectly within the Empire s right, and that every time taxes became too overwhelming, British officials would back down against resistance. Such was the case for the Stamp Act which was enacted in 1765 and repealed in 1766 after riots broke out in the Colonies. In the case of Franklin, exasperations also gave way to his eventual disenfranchisement of the Empire. His own pride was destroyed at the cockpit that day, something Franklin was no stranger to and definitely was unable to handle in a casual fashion. Thus, Kemp adamantly claims throughout her work that Franklin saw his opposition to the Empire, as a personal and not entirely a political issue as he once did. Kemp states, Franklin lived in a place where social status ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
