This document provides feedback on a student's pre-production work for a music video project. The teacher provides positive feedback on many areas, noting research, storyboards, shotlists, costumes, props, actors, and the production schedule were well done. Some areas needing improvement were adding the student's own images, more examples of genre and packaging analysis, and including an equipment list. The student created additional posts to address these areas. The teacher's final mark was 17 out of 20, showing the student made good improvements based on the feedback.

1. Taylor Swift/ Michael Jackson - analysis using narrative codes and
theorists. Some good detail on codes used and relation to narrative.
Alanis Morissette/ Michael Buble/ Harry Connick Jnr – good, detailed
analysis of video with imagery and technical elements discussed linking to
Goodwin
2. Some good detail of traditional Pop using Prezi, showing concise research.
Early influence added but seems brief. Some nice links to culture and
audience, with good use of images.
Post has been added on album cover, which again shows some
understanding of task and conventions. Needed more than one to show
any links with genre. Plus you need to research album adverts not tour
dates – please add more examples.
3. Good evidence of secondary research into audience with some reflective
comments, with a stereotypical member of audience discussed

2. Overall this is a good body of work, well done. Good use of technologies
throughout. At this stage you are just missing equipment. You also need to
add more detail to where requested.
You could add additional content such as a risk assessment.

Student action plan for improvement
 Own image added for location of underpass and more information about
what they’re being used for. – much better post with own images and good
detail as to how locations will be used in video
 More examples of digipack and advert analysis – post has been amended
to include more examples, showing a clearer understanding of how
advert/covers work together.
 I have created an equipment list that has been blogged. – post added with
nice detail on equipment to be used.
