This document provides feedback from a teacher to a student, Ben Walker, on pre-production tasks for a music video project. The teacher confirms Ben completed research on similar music videos, genre analysis, target audience, annotated lyrics, storyboards, shotlists, floor plans, locations, costumes, props, and actors. The feedback notes some areas for improvement, such as adding more details to storyboards. It also recommends labeling the production schedule as "pre-production" for clarity. Teachers comments
1. Some good analysis of Avicii’s Day and Nights videos. You could add
screen grabs to help back up your points. Although Avicii does not
feature himself, does his logo? Further analysis added regarding use of
spray paint and logo used
2. Genre research completed well using prezi. Proficient research displayed
well. Digipak and poster analysis completed well analysing many of
Avicii’s album covers and posters. Good use of similarities and
differences to highlight what you need to include on your product.
3. Good research on target audience. Good use of avatars to show
stereotypical audience members. Could you add any statistics to back up
your points? Statistics now added.
4. Excellent annotations of your lyrics showing your ideas.
5. Good evidence of ideas drafting. Good ides formed from peer feedback
exercise.
6. Excellent use of technology to design storyboards. However, your details
need to be that of a regular storyboard; shot type, camera movement,
dialogue (song lyrics). At the moment yours are very descriptive.
7. Clear shot list. You could add more detail and break down the grouped
shots. Remember this is a plan, and plans may change on the day of
shooting, this should be how you would like to see your vision in an ideal
world.
8. Excellent floor plans. Very clearly laid out, good use of key, easy to see
what your plan is.
9. Excellent location photos with clear detail as to why they have been
chosen.
10.Costume choices explained well with images.
11.Prop choices explained well with images.
12.Actor choice for the son character explained well. Who will play the father
character? Father choice now added with head shot.

2. 13.Equipment detailed in production schedule. You could add this as a
separate post with more detail. A separate equipment list now added,
good use of images.
14.A comprehensive production schedule that breaks down each stage well.
Overall a very proficient body of work Ben, well done. This could be level 4 with
a few improvements. Excellent use of technology throughout. Please see notes
above about your storyboards.
