This document provides feedback on a student's pre-production tasks for a music video project. The teacher provides comments on each task, noting what was done well and areas for improvement. 1. Taylor Swift - analysis using narrative codes and theorists. Some brief
detail on codes used and relation to narrative.
Kiesza – nice analysis of video with imagery and some technical elements
discussed linking to Goodwin, at times too descriptive.
2. Some good if brief detail of House using PowerPoint, showing concise
research. Early influence added but seems brief. Needs links to culture and
audience, but needs images.
Post has been added on digipaks, which again shows some understanding
of task and conventions with good links to recurring themes for artists.
3. Good evidence of secondary research into audience with some reflective
comments, but needs more on other interests.– please add

2. Overall this is a good body of work if at times rushed, well done. Good use
of technologies throughout. At this stage you are just missing equipment.
You also need to add more detail to where requested.
You could add additional content such as a risk assessment.
Good clear blog. Please scan all documents, as images provided look untidy.

Student action plan for improvement
Added my own images of the locations I will use and re-wrote the description of
why I want to use them in better detail – images taken by student added with nice
detail as to why they were chosen.
Added images of both my actors and changed first paragraph on why I have
chosen them – better detail on actor and images included
Posted a second picture to my props - image added
Re-wrote the costumes paragraph, including photos – amended paragraph shows
better understanding of costumes and links to characters
Completed an equipment list on PowerPoint – post now added with some nice
detail on equipment and suitability
Posted screenshots of emails asking for permission to use the song – good
evidence showing student tried many ways to contact artist/company
Drew a new storyboard with colour – storyboards are much better, good neat
presentation. Good detail shown, good variety of shots and nice technical detail.
Drew a new floor plan in colour - layouts are much better, good neat presentation
which show action, actors and camera movement
Scanned all images (digipack analysis, lyrics, storyboard, floor plans) - yes
