This document discusses the potential benefits of internal social networking for organizations. It suggests that internal social networks can help rescue employees from outdated tools by allowing knowledge sharing and flows of information mediated through social connections. An effective internal social network could include basic features like profiles, contact management, status updates, social bookmarking and sharing. The document argues that internal social networks are about supporting people, not just implementing new software tools, in order to address real business needs.

Social collaboration – Managers Breifing Richard von Kaufmann Zipipop FreudZipipop Freud
Richard von Kaufmann outlines key things managers should take into consideration when thinking about rollout social collaboration within their organizations.
This Interview with Vanessa DiMauro, CEO Leader Networks and the Patricia Seybold Group explores the best practices for building professional peer communities. This joint collaboration was written in 2007 and stands as a classic reference for online community-building today.
This presentation showcases how Web 2.0 could be used within an enterprise with a "day (weeks, actually) in the life of" story of how a new employee, Michael, uses web 2.0 (or Enterprise 2.0) tools to quickly get up to speed and start contibuting. Touches on social networking, social bookmarking, blogs / microblogs, wiki, virtual world, mashups, RSS

Keynote presentation. In-house awareness session on social networking, with focus on LinkedIn and Slideshare. Introduction to new tools for networking, collaborating, knowledge creation and (internal/external) communication. Fifteen slides and two videos. March 2010.

Enterprise 2.0 - Efficient Collaboration and Knowledge ExchangeAcando Consulting
How to enable dispersed teams to coordinate their actions to achieve their goals and how to enable an organization to harness its collective intelligence - with the use of social software and principles of social media.
People in business and government often regard new social technology and networked culture as a dangerous 'new' thing and fall back on their experience of technology and organisational culture in the late Twentieth Century.
In fact the reverse is true. The Twentieth century took the ideas of the industrial revolution and applied them to people. Mass production. Mass marketing. Mass slaughter.
Our new cultural ecosystem is more traditional, and continues age old traditions of trade, business and socialisation. The Twentieth Century was wrong. And I will prove it. Using wild exaggeration and over-simplification, plus probably some pictures from Flickr... ;-)
Next time somebody tells you they don't like this "new" stuff, which is riskier than "traditional" approaches, you will know what to do: tell them they have it the wrong way round. But don't blame me if you get fired.

In large organisations, digital fluency, confidence and knowledge are still lacking at senior levels, but the answer is not just to appoint a more digital CDO or CTO to fill the gap. Instead, we need practical models for distributing digital leadership among those who understand it and who are involved in development, and we need to clear that ‘digital’ is now everybody’s responsibility.
Change agents and local digital teams are often at the forefront of adopting new ways of working and creating elements of digital strategy, and they should be teaching and guiding traditional leaders, rather than asking for permission and being satisfied with brief moments of attention from above. The greatest challenge for any leader today is transforming their organisational architecture and culture to meet the challenges of the digital age.
This talk will share a practical model for distributed digital leadership, some insights into the challenges and opportunities of this approach, and some thoughts on how digital change agents should take control of the agenda and challenge their leaders to do better.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
