Essay Electable or Not, Trump is Good for America
There are seven hopefuls who are likely going to formally announce their candidacy for the
Republican presidential nomination in 2012, within the next week and many more who are
contemplating a run. None of them invoke an emotional, if not polarizing response quite like The
Donald. It is early yet, but the only Republican hopeful who has broken from the reserved, almost
polite rhetoric of the early stump speeches in Iowa and New Hampshire, and the government as usual
policy discussions on the Sunday media carousel, has been Donald Trump. By removing the shackles
of political correctness and media speak, Mr. Trump tossed a few verbal hand grenades into the throng
of Obama friendly, group think media sycophants, who were waiting ... Show more content on

The subject of President Obama s birth certificate has been mostly off limits for those who wish to
avoid the wrath of the Obama friendly media. Refreshingly, Trump is facing the Obama media head
on, with his questions about why the president has spent so much money and time keeping his birth
certificate, college records, and health records from the public eye. Trump not only asks these
questions of the president, but he asks mainstream reporters why they have not been the least bit
interested in vetting Barack Obama as thoroughly as they have other presidential candidates. With
Donald Trump the best defense is a good offense, and that is a strategy the other Republican hopefuls
had better understand this time. Why is the Tea Party now playing such a vital role in American
Politics? Its members are angry and fed up with both parties they have reached a tipping point on the
size of the Federal Government. They have grown tired of politicians playing footsie with the media,
and they are tired of politicians compromising on the future of this once great nation. Trump echoes
these concerns better than the so called frontrunners; he

How Did Women s Fashion Change In The 1800s
Women s Fashion Changes, in the 1800s Imagine it was 1860 and the latest outfit just came out! Now
I know it probably would not matter to you now if just one outfit came out cause millions of new
clothes came out everyday but back then even if they came out with a new fabric pattern it was huge.
Yes it was the Victorian era. Women s fashion in the 1800s saw the biggest change(Lucid Crew). From
the hats to the shoes, from their sports wear to house wear. Or even if you have ever wonder where we
got this idea, although some people may not have but we stole it from others, yes we may have
improved on it but those people had it all figured out before we did. It took that history and made it
help form the clothes today. Everyone owes thanks to those people. Then, black was the new black,
Luxe labels came, there was name calling and fashion was flourishing. These modern day obsessions
with black and big name labels are nothing new. People should not think that they started these trends
but think way back then (Lucid Crew). Women s fashion in the 1800 s saw the biggest change because
of it s great development in it s dressage timeline. The reason why this fashion timeline developed so
much was because of all the new ideas of machines, fabrics, colors, and the people that created all of
this that changed history. Every year there was something ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So that was a big improvement in the time was what did they wore for those events (Independence

a part in a huge change of the late 1800s because they developed different clothes for that which led to
tons of sport outfits ideas (Independence Hall

The Importance Of My Cultural Interview
My culture is essential when understanding who I am as a person and as a future social worker. The
top three elements of my culture include my gender, race, and religious affiliation. My gender, race,
and religious affiliation can heavily impact an interview with a client by supporting and interfering
with the interview process. While some elements of my culture are more easily viewable than others,
all may have a gargantuan impact in my future social work career with my clients. Upon interviewing
a client, one of the first aspects a client will notice about me is my gender. Discussing my gender is
essential when talking about my cultural identity because being female has shaped my perspectives
and experiences in this world and can even impact my interview with a client. There are advantages
and disadvantages to being a female, mostly demonstrated within my interactions with others, and I
will likely bring these advantages and disadvantages with me in a future interview. Many people,
including possible clients, view females as more nurturing and compassionate when compared to male
counterparts. This bias may influence my ability to do my job effectively and efficiently. This impact
will likely be beneficial as clients could be more open to speaking with a counselor whom he or she
believes could be more sympathetic towards his or her situation. In addition, being female can also
positively impact my experiences with female clients especially those who have experienced

The Epidemic Of Smallpox And Vaccines
When a vaccine is given, the human body produces antibodies against the foreign substance, thus
creating a defense mechanism for immunity to occur. A vaccine is defined as any preparation used as a
preventive inoculation to confer immunity against a specific disease, usually employing an innocuous
form of the disease agent, as killed or weakened bacteria or viruses, to stimulate antibody production
(dictionary.com). The epidemic of smallpox is one of the most groundbreaking moments in medical
history, It created the usage of vaccination to be extremely normal. Smallpox had managed to kill
millions of people, which was a large part of the population at the time. Edward Jenner came up with a
vaccine that could treat the outbreak of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a culture are we getting vaccines because they are mandatory and a part of the social norm or is it
because they actually work? Many infants and children are dying around the world due to preventable
diseases; Dr. Robert Pearl says, There is nothing more disheartening for a physician than watching a
patient die from a preventable cause. And, of course, the loss for the family involved is unimaginable
(Forbes). The parents of children in underdeveloped nations of the world are in need of vaccines.
However, in the United States it is a different story, where parents demand their children not to be
vaccinated. Vaccines are readily available to people, yet they refuse for many different reasons. Most
of the reasons given for not vaccinating children are because of religious reasons, forgetfulness, moral
beliefs, monetary issues and the theory that vaccines cause other health related issues, such as autism.
The citizens of the United States have been privileged with support from the government to vaccinate
all people who requested to be vaccinated against preventable diseases. Many people around the world
are powerless in getting vaccinated and die due to the lack of healthcare and resources and money. If
parents have a choice to make about keeping their children protected then why are parents not
vaccinating their children against preventable diseases? Immunizations

Brain Boosters Of Nootropics
A great mind often translates to success. An individual s intelligence is truly an asset in the
competitive world. A functional brain can help a person stabilize his career and make decisions for a
better future. In the past, medical scientists were convinced that intelligence is only inherited. Genetic
factors are solely blamed for having a good mental capacity. However, the continuation of
experiments concerning the human mind led to more details and another discovery: substances can
enhance the cognitive and other brain areas temporarily, while it helps protect the brain from
permanent damage. When this fact made it to the public, brain enhancers called Nootropics were
stealing the limelight ever since. Some of these drugs are used as dietary supplements since the U.S.

Over time, an individual loses control over his most prized possession: his mind. Seniors become
forgetful and slow at reasoning. Apart from age, factors such as stress, alcoholic drinks and smoking
have adverse effects on the brain. In order to minimize the negative effects of losing brain cells, brain
booster pills are needed. These pills are proven to be effective in improving cognition with minimal or
no side effects. Adults and children can include mental enhancers in their daily diets if they just
control the dosage to reduce the risk of abnormal effects.
Brain boosters of Nootropics are commonly used to improve the mental functions. Scientifically,
Nootropics work on neural connections when they are present in the bloodstream. Their substances
facilitate synaptogenesis, which is a process that is directly linked to learning, memory and other brain
areas. Nootropics are helpful in improving the communication between neurons for better responses
and a quick memory. In addition, Nootropics protect neurons from permanent damage against toxins
like cortisol, the stress

Metentialism In Robert Frost s The Five People You Meet...
It is when individuals overcome their differences and become viewed from different perspectives. This
can offer new understandings and perceptions of ourselves and others. This is explored through Robert
Frost s poetry including his poem Mending Wall and The Tuft of Flowers . Frost explores different
perceptions of society in his time through his connections with nature and his personal life. This is
also reflected through Mitch Albom s novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven as the protagonist,
Eddie experiences death and meets the five people who have influenced or he has influenced
throughout his life.
In Frost s poem Mending Wall , was written just months before World War I was declared. Also,
political tensions between European countries were rising, it is through Frost s poetry where
intellectual discoveries are uncovered. The persona of the poem meets with his neighbour to fix a wall
between their properties. we meet to walk the line and set the wall between us once again . Frost
utilises elements of irony to convey how the only time the persona and the neighbour meet, which is to
rebuild the wall; the wall that keeps them apart. The persona comes to the first physical discovery of
the usefulness of the wall itself, We do not need the wall: He is all pine and I am apple orchard which
is metaphorical for the personalities of the two individuals presented. The neighbour, all pine is about
practicality and being discrete whilst the persona is presented as

Pros And Cons Of Pelagianism
In the years following 400 AD, the ideas of the monk Pelagius spawned a heresy that still affects
people of the church today. Pelagianism holds that a man can take the initial and fundamental steps
toward salvation by his own efforts, apart from God s Divine Grace (Slick). In a nutshell, Pelagius
heresy states that man doesn t need help from God to be able to live a holy life and to get into heaven.
Despite the heresy seeming to have nearly died out, it merely evolved into smaller actions that allow it
to slowly take hold of our lives. As Thomas Aquinas once stated, heresies are a species of unbelief,
and like other species, heresies like pelagianism will adapt in order to survive. Pope Francis made the
comments he did about Pelagianism to make it known how it can sneak into our lives and, in addition,
presents how we personally can avoid any further confusion.
While Pelagianism may have began many years ago, it still has a large enough influence to cause Pope
Francis to speak out against it today. Pope Francis has came out and said that it s not soul searching or
constant introspection that we encounter the Lord, [but living our lives] going ... Show more content

Francis did the exact opposite and recognizes Pelagianism as a issue within the Church. The Holy
Father shines the light back on this heresy and presents how Christians today are not knowingly
having beliefs that are Pelagianistic. To help clear confusion, Pope Francis shows us how we can t
solely rely on ourselves for salvation and that we can always find help through God. We have to
remember that if Jesus did not die for our sins, we would not have the chance to enter Heaven. So if
we take God out of salvation, then why would have Jesus died to save us from our

Violent Media And Media Violence
There are various explanations for the causes of violence. This remains significant because violence
leads to many criminal activities in society today. For example, certain crimes such as assault or
robbery involve the use of violence because the victim is injured or harmed in a physical way. The
purpose of the study is to examine whether young adults who watch violent television programs are
more likely to possess violent attitudes, which promotes aggressive behaviour like uttering threats or
assault. This conveys that it s important to study the association between violent media and violent
attitudes because it provides insight towards the increasing crime rates that occur in society. The
rationale for conducting research on media violence provides explanations for the occurrences of
violent crimes because violent media is considered a significant factor for violent attitudes, which
leads to various types of violent crimes committed by adolescents and young adults. Other significant
studies have expressed their interest in the topic regarding the media s influence on violence. The
study The Influence of Media Violence on Youth examines whether violent videogames increases the
probability of individuals engaging in violent activities such as uttering threats and physical assaults
(Anderson et al., 2003). The research involves participants such as children because they are more
likely to be associated with violent media such as videogames (Anderson et al., 2003).

Squatter By Thomas King Summary
The idea of a home is a broad one that has very different ways of responding to it. This is the way of
thinking that to writers use in their short stories. For the writers, the way they view home is one of
identity and culture. While these two themes are positive the writers show how they get people in
trouble with law and day to day life. In the short story borders by Thomas King, the concept of home
is illustrated on the focuses on the nationality and identity of a person rather than the place they call
home. The viewpoint of the home creates a diverse idea in which a home is not where one lives but
who the view themselves as. This is seen I the interaction of the mother and the border patrol over
who she claims her citizenship as. citizenship ? Blackfoot, my mother told him (pg. 257). This starts
an altercation between the mother and the patrol officers in which Blackfoot is not a citizenship but
still an identity of home. This the way mother identifies her sense home in heritage instead of ... Show

Paying Attention Pays Off for Andra Rush
1. As we have discussed, competency models describe the behaviors and skills managers need to
exhibit if an organization is to be successful. Consider the general competencies found in Figure 7.3
and apply these to Andra Rush, providing examples of how these competencies apply.
Competency models describe the behaviors and skills managers need to exhibit if an organization is to
be successful (Hughes, Ginnett, Curphy, p. 252). In many organizations, competency models can
differ between the different hierarchies of managers. As a person s leadership role evolves so do the
behaviors and skills he or she must possess to be an effective leader. This statement holds firm as with
the case of Andra Rush.
Throughout the case study, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rush also showed adaptability which is the ability to confidently adapt and adjust to changes and
challenges; and the ability to maintain a positive outlook and work constructively under pressure. She
followed through with the idea of forming a trucking company by borrowing monies to purchase
trucks, accepting every job offer, answering the phones, budgeting the books, and repairing the trucks.
This is also evident by the fact Rush can lead a large trucking company, but also community
organizations. Both have different leadership styles which she has to properly adjust to.
Another competency displayed by Rush is customer focus which is maintaining a clear focus on
customer needs and demonstrating a strong desire to provide exemplary customer service; and actively
seeks ways to increase customer satisfaction. With the formation of the company, Rush accepted every
shipping job, even if she had to drive the trucks herself. She pays attention and exceeds customer s
expectations regardless of circumstances. Such as the case of when local bridges were shutdown
during September 11th attacks, Rush made a crucial shipment by renting a barge.
2. How does the Leadership Pipeline apply to Andra Rush?
The Leadership Pipeline is a useful model for explaining where leaders need to spend their time, what
they should be focusing on, what they should be letting go, and the

Hunter S. Thompson was the author of Hell s Angles published in 1967 by Random House. In this
book Thompson follows Hell s Angles for a two year period, focusing on the Oakland and San
Francisco chapters. The Hell s Angels were known for their violent nature and disregard for authority.
Thompson illustrates this by saying, when you re asked to stay out of a bar you don t just punch the
owner. You come back with your army and tear the place down, destroy the whole edifice and
everything it stand for. No compromise. If a man gets wise, mash his face. If a woman snubs you, rape

This style of journalism is a first person narrative to report on personal experiences and emotions,
compared with traditional journalism, which relies on some degree of detachment and with its use of
facts and quotations. Hell s Angels should be regarded as an important piece of journalism because,
Thompson reported on events that were relevant to the counter culture and the struggles of defying
social status in the United States. Furthermore the events that are covered in this book were of interest
to people throughout the nation. This book would be of interest to a wide variety of people. For
instance, motorcycle enthuses would likely take interest because, the book is about a notorious
motorcycle gang. People interested in counter culture might also take an interest in this book due to
the fact that the Hell s Angles questioned the social class system. Even people interested in sociology
could also take an interest in the book because, sociology is the study of the development, structure,
and functioning of human society ad social problems. A sociology professor could use this book as an

Feminist Inequality
Considered superiority to be tendered man accustomed by women to respect men. Whether at home or
any work environment. There is no equality between genders, even men who identify as gay may not
have the same privileges. And as a feminist, all I seek is for equality. The effort the feminists strive for
equality inspired me to seek equality, because a female deserves to be valued just as a male. The
understanding of inequality is from the friendship of females I am a part of. My female friends have

Females are taken advantage of sexually, verbally, and consciously. It is wrong and should be handled.
Being a man will give me an advantage positively. How women are treated and degraded is not
acceptable to me. Females have amazing mind and great ideas, but are always brushed off and if a
man steals a woman s idea it is acknowledged and appreciated. I am a feminist to tell with a man s
advantage and spread equality. It is seen through many roles that there will be a greater male
representative compared to a female in any entitlement which should progress. In conclusion, I am a

Community Corrections Must Be Defined As Orders And Strict...
Community corrections can be defined as orders and strict instructions given to convicted adults and
young ones, which occur in a community setting outside jail or prison. It involves the supervision and
management of offenders by community correction officers in the community. It usually happens
when offenders are imposed to undertake community projects as an alternative to imprisonment. It can
also be a condition of release on parole from prison. Community corrections bring several benefits to
the offender such as learning how to become accountable and how to plan effectively (National
Institute of Justice, 2014).
What It Involves Community corrections involve instilling of corrective behaviors and acceptable
practices to offenders by teaching them how to do new things and in the same time correcting their
mistakes, which made them charged in court. Offenders are required to participate in community
work, appropriate educational programs and assessment and treatment programs. They are managed
and supervised in the community by individuals known as the community correction officers.
Offenders who complete their orders successfully upon identifiable behavior change are allowed to
live freely without any more supervision from the correction officers, and they can interact and
participate actively in community and society building projects.

Ups Promotes Diversity Within Its Company Essay
John Martin, a 30 year Senior Business Continuity Analyst at UPS, feels that the issue begins with the
entry level employees (Martin, personal interview, 2016). The employees are not given a baseline of
expectations that they need to follow. This has led to costly retraining of the new millennial employees
at the company (Martin personal interview, 2016). The last manager that the writer interviewed, Gary
Overstreet, expressed concerns over the lost control of HR costs, and the repetition of many of the
same ongoing HR issues that have led to company lawsuits (Overstreet personal interview, 2016).
UPS promotes diversity within its company literature. United Parcel Service describes diversity as
impacting its company on a global aspect. Diversity is a key issue in many of UPS s human resource
issues. The web link to the company s diversity statements will allow the writer to determine specific
diversity issues and how they impact the selected company (UPS, 2012). Diversity between the

There is a gap that is not mended could cause irreparable harm. Each generation has different

Oh my! What a beautiful view! This has to be the most alluring view I have ever seen in my entire

national park instead of a state park. You may know what I mean if you have visited it yourself you
may even see that it has an exquisite view from the very top of the canyon. Taking this trip was the
best idea I have ever came up with. The Providence Canyon was formed every time it would rain the
soil was very soft and sandy so the plowed soil would be washed away by erosion. When small
ditches were etched into the farmland, and every rainstorm the ditches kept expanding wider and
deeper. It was like a natural cause and effect pattern as the author stated in the second paragraph. It
kind of went into a sequence first the rain would fall; then another inch or two of soil would flow
downstream leaving behind a trench. There was absolutely no way you could stop it from forming.

Picture. The movie focuses on ballet dancer Nina as she lands the lead role in the New York Ballet
Company s Swan Lake. She has an obsession with becoming perfect and because of this, she slowly
slips into a state of madness and jealously of her understudy. The ballet of Swan Lake has many

The story of Swan Lake and Black Swan parallel, but when the movie does an actual performance of
the ballet, the aesthetic of ballet reflects the movie s themes overall. While the choreography remains
the same, the colors are much darker than a normal stage production would be. Since the film is a
thriller with a dark tone, the colors fit the mood better than the bright, cool colors of a normal stage
production. Even in the scenes with the White Swan, the color palette is somewhat more somber than
normal. The lighting has a red tent to it when Nina is dancing the White Swan. This could be a symbol
of even when she is most innocent, there is still darkness surrounding her. She also messes up during
that time as well so the red could also be adding to the fact that she is so far gone by the Black Swan
that she can no longer dance the White Swan. Also, the costuming of the antagonist, Rothbart, is much
more monster like and bulky than the original slim leotard that is easy to dance and move with. This is
to show how small Nina is compared to him, and that the darkness that is inside of her can overcome
her. He is not shown much throughout the film, but when he does he seems to blend in as compared to
Nina s overall psychological turmoil. Finally, the Black Swan appearance is much more sinister that
the ballet version, with its dark wings and red eyes. The audience only sees

The Importance Of Proper Sexual Education On Sex
Kaislyn Lyons Mr. Ray English 1301.3 20 November 2015 The Importance of Proper Sexual
Education In life, high school especially, sexual education is very important and can truly impact a
person s life. Improper education on sex can lead to many life changing mistakes. These blunders can
be avoided with proper knowledge. Although students should be encouraged to remain abstinent, they
should still be taught about contraception and practicing safe sex. With proper sexual education,
abstinence rates will increase and the numbers of teenage parents will decrease. In today s society, sex
is everywhere. It is on TV, in music, in novels, magazines, and even hidden. As a teenager, peer
pressure also has a very strong presence. Kids are encouraged by their peers to look a certain way, act
a certain way, belief certain things, and change themselves to fit in with the norm . Whenever they do
not meet the standards of society they are teased for being different. This negativity increases when it
comes to the topics of sex. Just because an individual has chosen to abstain for sexual activity, they
are dubbed an outcast. Their beliefs and strong morals come back to bite them in the presence of their
peers. Premarital sex is often glamorized. Teens are shown that engaging in sex is cool despite the
risks. This obscure view is due to a lack of information and proper education. Many schools often shy
away from the subject of sex. Parents also shut out the topic. This leaves teens to look

Essay On Don Quixote
Don Quixote is considered the most influential work of literature. It has been around for more than
four hundred years. It is still being read and it is a work that is dear to many people s hearts. The story
is mainly about an older individual named Alonso Quixana who lives in La Mancha in central Spain.
After, he read thousands of book about knights he started to go insane and decides to change his name
to Don Quixote. So, when he finished all his books he started to believe that he was one. In this piece
Don Quixote experiences love, morality, law, justice and much more. But, reality and fantasy are two
major points in this story. This story is very much related in the 21st century because in society today

been going around in today s world is Dreamers those who have immigrant parents that were brought
to the United States in order to have a better life. These people s dreams have been ruining more and
more each day because there is little to no hope left in achieving those goals. An impactful quote that
was said in Don Quixote was, I do know who I am, and who is in my depth has nothing to do with
your ideas and with your expectations about me (book) What this quote is trying to tell it s audience is
that sometimes our highest most outrageous goals sometimes seem untouchable and we get scared
when other see us trying to reach that goal. The Scientific Journal of Humanistic Studies states, Being
something, someone, having an established identity is comfortable, but becoming someone is risky
(Cun 3). Having a dream isn t unhealthy or dangerous nor is being imaginative either. But, the
population tends to believe that if you are an imaginative person you are going insane. Which is not
the case, this is the reason why Don Quixote de la Mancha became such a modern character. He was
someone who desired to become someone, and to be able to metamorphose the world in a more
favorable way. At the time this book was written reality and fantasy were two completely opposite
terms, no one had ever thought to put those two together. Cervantes sure made a bold

Martin Luther King Jr Inspiration
Martin Luther King Jr was an inspirational man who helped save lives through his activism in the mid
1950s. He was passionate in his non violent protests, which helped to raise awareness of racial
inequalities in America. All of his passionate work led to significant political changes, such as ending
segregation through his speeches. Without him, we would not have multiple races in the same places
as whites. He inspired many people of color to stand up for what they thought was right without
violence. Through his fight to end segregation, Martin Luther King Jr is known as one of America s
most influential civil rights activists still today. Martin Luther King was born on January 15, 1929, in
Atlanta, Georgia. He was born as Michael King Jr, a middle child to the parents Reverend Martin
Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. While he was growing up he attended a high school in
Georgia named Booker T. Washington. His father was a minister at Ebenezer Baptist church in
Atlanta. His mother Alberta Williams King was a teacher. Martin Luther at the age of fifteen went to
Morehouse College, and graduated from there in 1948 without actually graduating high school first.
While doing graduate work at Boston Graduate school, he met Coretta Scott. He later on married
Coretta Scott in 1953 on the lawn of her parents house where she grew up in Alabama. They
eventually had four children; Martin Luther King III, Dexter Scott King, Yolanda King, and Bernice

Air Masses Research Paper
Air Masses Air masses are large areas of air that are similar in moisture and temperature. They are
formed when the air sits over a surface for an extended period of time. Because they form over a
surface they take on characteristics of that surface. The five air mass types are continental polar (cP)
and tropical (cT), maritime polar (mP) and tropical (mT) as well as continental arctic (cA). All air
masses are commonly formed over flat land or large bodies of water, not both. They also formed in
areas with light wind. Once formed they move with the upper level winds. Continental polar air
masses are formed at high latitudes over land and are cold or cool and dry. Some of the locations in

Meteorologists use data initialization to create balance in the data presented to the model. Another
data anomaly is from data being collected away from the center of a grid. Numerical models use grids,
a three dimensional divide of the atmosphere, to make their forecasts. The middle of these grids is
called a grid point. Sometimes the data is not collected at this grid point but at another point in the
grid. To even out this data from different locations to use in forecast meteorologists use a process
called interpolation. Using interpolation and data initialization to balance data is a process called data
assimilation. Some of the methods used to check data include checking if a station always reports
wrong data, if the data deviates from what is expected through short term forecasts and checking the
data against other data observed near by. Of course they also check if the data falls out of any ranges
that are possible to be observed in that area. This data is then used in the numerical weather prediction
start point, which is in turn used to forecast weather. Recently data assimilation has become useful
with satellite data when surface observations are not

their high speed growth. The organization also provided by far one of the country s most copious
health care and benefit plans. Throughout the 1950s G.M. leaders and workers were pleased to declare
the company had the highest compensated employees in the US. To ensure employees were accessible
to return after shutdowns for model year changes, G.M. consented to a revolutionary union clause that
compensated workers idled by shutdowns. Also, G.M. made available great pension plans with
significant retirement compensation and maximum benefits for long time employees. This Success

Auditing is the accumulation and evaluation of evidence about information to determine and report on
the degree of correspondence between the information and established criteria (Arens, Elder, Beasley,

classifying, and summarizing of economic events in a logical manner for the purpose of providing
financial information for decision making (Arens, Elder, Beasley, 2010). Many people confuse

Water Reuse As A Water Management Initiative
Water reuse is a crucial concept in our society, water is a scarce resource and it is needed to operate
many things. Water is used in stream and in off stream (Botkin, 2014). Water has been used
extensively for irrigation and for energy production in industrial settings. Water reuse is a water
management initiative that is aimed at conserving our water resources and to allow the continual use
of this precious resource repeatedly. Reused water also known as Reclaimed water is a type of water
has been used by households, Industries ect, and is collected on a treatment site where it is cleared of
various solids, organic and inorganic pollutants, and can be released into receiving streams or be used
again. Water can be recycled after it has been used vigorously to perform various functions i.e water
can be treated and then reused, there are numerous ways in which water can wastewater can be
treated. Wastewater can be treated by Constructed wetlands which are manmade systems that use the
properties of plants, microbial diversity to treat wastewater and to remove pollutants. Manmade

wetlands are monitored by man. There are various manmade wetlands including Free water surface
constructed wetlands (FWSCW) are crucial in treating water that contains organic pollutants, it

The Negative Aspects of Special Rights
Kymlicka believes that nation building is beneficial in developing the identities of the state, he further
goes on to say that we can justify granting special rights to the minorities in a liberal state to protect
them from any injustices (Kymlicka, 2002). Kymlicka does not state exactly what he believes special
rights to be, therefore it is open to many different interpretations. I do not find this argument plausible
because there are many instances in which certain special rights allow the minorities to have more
rights than the majority. This occurs in the case of honour killings and gender equality. Firstly, it
should be noted that the purpose of special rights is to promote equality and ensure all groups have
equal footing. While I agree with this idea in theory, in practice I do not believe it is successful. I
believe this because there are certain cultural traditions that may conflict with others and thus, not
promote equality. For example, honour killings are the homicide of someone by the members of their
family. This occurs when the perpetrator believes that the victim has brought dishonour to the family
by refusing an arranged marriage or engaging in a homosexual relationship, etc. There are a plethora
of reasons behind why someone would commit this type of murder, all of which, are unacceptable in
any civilized society in my opinion. According to Canadian laws and the morals of most Canadian
citizens, murder for any reason is acceptable and against the law.

The Reason Why Germany Lost World War I
Throughout history, there are different groups that experienced worldwide hate. Countries did not feel
comfortable with them being in their country. The Jews and Muslims experience very similar hatred in
history. The hatred of the Jews occurred during the 1940s during the time of Hitler. Hitler felt they
were a threat to Germans and the superior race . During present time, the Muslims are experiencing
the same worldwide hate as the Jews, even though they are a religious group. The only difference
between the two is that Jews were more peaceful and a terrorist group named ISIS is giving the
Muslims a bad name worldwide. The Jews were persecuted because Hitler felt that they were the
reason why Germany was in such bad economic shape after World War I and they were also the reason
why Germany lost World War I. Hitler made this known to the world and different nations agreed with
him. But the Jews being the scapegoat began before Hitler became ruler of Germany. Jews have been
the scapegoat for many centuries. At one point England had Jews banned from their country. The
reason why nations blame Jews first is because they have been disliked for many years so it is easier
for countries to blame them than to admit when their country is at fault. Jews have been known to be
the chosen ones and to be economically stable (have money) so when the economy collapsed in
Germany after World War I, Jews where immediately blamed. The hatred of Jews started in 1933

War Themes During The Falklands War
War Themes There were various war themes identified during the Falklands war. One of the biggest
challenges the British encountered during the war was logistics, which supports the theme on
Resourcing and Sustaining the war. Considering that Britain is more than 8,000 miles away compared
to Argentina which is less than 1,000 miles away from Falklands. The critical to the campaign of
Britain was the transport of supply, troops rotation and reinforcement were difficult to handle. Admiral
Fieldhouse pointed out that geographic location was his foremost considerations in transporting
troops, aircraft and equipment from the United Kingdom to the operational theatre. Further, the British

assets to boost the slack in the resources to transport the logistics used during the war which resulted
to the success of the British war campaign in Falklands island.

nineteenth century, men were viewed as the rational, reasonable and intellectual beings, superior over
the passive and submissive qualities of women. In that time period, man was considered woman s

Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Essay
Despite the absence of a cure or preventative measures for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, there have
been notable advances in both diagnostic techniques and successful treatments available.
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is also known as HCM. It is a genetic condition in which the
myocardium or heart muscle in the left ventricle is thickened. HCM cannot be identified by a single
complaint or symptom as it is different for every person that it affects. This disease not only causes
left ventricle hypertrophy but can also cause ventricle stiffness, mitral valve changes, and other
cellular changes.
This photo shows the difference between what a normal unaffected heart looks like and what a heart
that suffers from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy looks like. Thickening most commonly occurs at the
septum of the heart which separates the right and left sides of the heart. The thickening significantly
affects the blood flow through the heart causing the ventricles to have to pump harder in attempt to
continue normal blood flow.

When memories and events become institutionalized in a museum setting, they become the lens
through which present and future generations gaze into past. National museums promote local history
and identity, but what about multinational museums and multinational identity? This is the question
the European Union hopes to address with their sanctioning of the House of European History (HEH).
The main goal of the HEH is to create a collection of permanent and temporary exhibitions to invite

outlined that the museum should be a place where a memory of European history and the work of
European unification is jointly cultivated (Committee of Experts, 2008, p.3). Some of the main themes
that the museum is supposed to represent include the diversity of history and a commonality of roots,
peace, liberty, and a willingness to live together, as well as the idea of progress and keeping the idea of
Europe alive. In the second section, it talks about the academic goals of the museum and the way it

History of Time Telling Machines
The Tick in the Clock New technology often begins with the clear intention of solving an ongoing
problem or satisfying a societal need. Many times, this new piece of technology is simple, such as the
toothpick. Other times, a new technology can be a thing of great complexity, such as a computer hard
drive or Facebook. One piece of technology in particular has changed the way human society has
functioned over the past few centuries. Everyone strives to keep track of time, as more and more
technologies arise and give way to an increased demand for a structured day. In order to do this, one
looks up at a clock.
The clock, to put it simply, is a device used to tell the hours, minutes, and seconds of a day. According
to Artemidorus of Daldis, a second century A.D. writer, A clock signifies occupations and
undertakings, movements and the start of transactions. For men keep their eyes on the time in all that
they do, (Dohrn van Rossum 17). Not only does a clock keep track of time, it signifies the need for the
human race to organize and control their surroundings, as it has been from the first encounter between
technology and the human race.
The technology of a clock is simple yet varied. The clock s shell is usually made out of brass, copper,
tin or zinc. After the shell is molded the components of the clock are assembled; significant working
parts including the face, arms, power source, gear train, escapement, wheels, mainspring, pendulum

What Makes an Organization Successful
I believe that in large measure what makes an organization successful in meeting the needs of its
various constituencies is its distinctiveness. Organizations that have strong and unique cultures
generally experience excellent performance which implies why many of the most successful
organizations today are thriving and growing because, in large part, of their unique and strong styles
and values towards corporate culture. Yet these same conditions pose a critical set of challenges but
yet retain the essential cultural elements that have made it attractive and resilient. More than ever,
successful organizations will need to develop learning and communication systems that will sustain

This would provide various departments with a common language or set of terms with which they
could share their ideas and request information. And as work life becomes increasingly symbolic and
reality is indeed being constructed within people s minds, the organizations will be able to develop
and facilitate corrective actions towards self directed work teams rather than simply direct and control.
I furthermore believe that the same methodologies will work for both organizations through an
approach that promotes organizational design that goes beyond the quality circles or ad hoc problem
solving teams. I would recommend to these two organizations to reduce the process to individual steps
which will allow work to become restructured around the whole process instead of organizing work
based on the traditional model that reduces the required skill at every level of work, producing
boredom in the bottom level jobs and integrate a new system that connects the needs of the people
with the work to be done, and those closest to the jobs help design the job. This concept by the way of
designing the work system with the full participation of the people doing the work will contribute to
productivity breakthroughs for their organization for many years to come. www.businessjournal.com

from him, the other stories don t display the same level of heart pounding suspense that leaves the
reader on the edge of their seat. For instance, in the rising of the story The Flowers the author says,
She had often been as far before, but the strangeness of the land made it not as pleasant as her usual
haunts. It seemed gloomy in the little cove in which she found herself. The air was damp, the silence
close and deep. Instead of creating a sense of anxiety and tension within the reader, the story actually
conceives an atmosphere of somberness and gloom. The Flowers is melancholy but not quite on the
level of suspense as The Sniper. The Dogs Could Teach Me by Gary Paulsen does demonstrate
suspense, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gary Paulsen seems to describe the setting and the amount of pain more than the life threatening, Will

several times running dogs cracked ribs, a broken left leg, a broken left wrist, various parts frozen or
cut or bitten while trying to stop fights but nothing ever felt like landing on that knee. I don t think I
passed out so much as my brain simply exploded. The writing does a very good job of describing the
intensity of pain, but it doesn t make the reader anticipate anything, the description just makes he/she
comprehend the sheer plethora of pain the character is

Abercrombie And Fitch Case Summary
When Samantha Elauf went in for her job interview with Abercrombie Fitch, she wore the headscarf
traditional for a practicing Muslim. During the interview, her headscarf was not mentioned or
discussed, but the store did take note of its presence and decided not to offer Elauf a job at the store
after considering that she had most likely worn the headscarf for religious reasons and that it would be
in violation of the store s Look Policy.
The Look Policy at Abercrombie Fitch violates the wearing of caps stating that this look is too
informal for the image the company desires to project. In response, the EEOC sued Abercrombie Fitch
on Elauf s behalf.
The EEOC received a summary judgment from the district court based on its claim

The Scope Of Computerized Threat Rootkits Essay
In the scope computerized threat rootkits are not given the credit they deserve. They tend to be
minimized while they proved to be a much serious danger. Dr Mark Ciampa had categorized rootkits
under the concealment subgroup of malware, which avoiding detection is their primary characteristic.
He had briefly defined rootkits as set software tools used to hide the actions of other types of software
by changing the operating system to force it to ignore their malicious files and activities. Rootkits also
hide or remove all traces of evidence that may reveal the malware, he said. His definition is not totally
accurate even though he pin pointed the main purpose for what rootkits are used for, which is
concealment. Contrary to the popular believe rootkits are not malware and not necessarily malicious.
Greg Hoglund and James Butler in the Subverting Windows Kernel Rootkits book identified rootkits
as a computing technology that can be used for evil or goods purposes. For the sake of this paper, the
attention given to rootkits will be focusing on understanding what a rootkit is and how it works, the
different type of rootkits and their implementations, detection measure to not get infected and
preventive measure to avoid infection.
Before, delving into the subject it s important to highlight that rootkits can be whitehat or blackhat. A
black hat use of rootkits is clearly attributed for a malicious agenda. For instance, an attacker who spy
on a computer system by recording and

  • 2. Essay Electable or Not, Trump is Good for America There are seven hopefuls who are likely going to formally announce their candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012, within the next week and many more who are contemplating a run. None of them invoke an emotional, if not polarizing response quite like The Donald. It is early yet, but the only Republican hopeful who has broken from the reserved, almost polite rhetoric of the early stump speeches in Iowa and New Hampshire, and the government as usual policy discussions on the Sunday media carousel, has been Donald Trump. By removing the shackles of political correctness and media speak, Mr. Trump tossed a few verbal hand grenades into the throng of Obama friendly, group think media sycophants, who were waiting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The subject of President Obama s birth certificate has been mostly off limits for those who wish to avoid the wrath of the Obama friendly media. Refreshingly, Trump is facing the Obama media head on, with his questions about why the president has spent so much money and time keeping his birth certificate, college records, and health records from the public eye. Trump not only asks these questions of the president, but he asks mainstream reporters why they have not been the least bit interested in vetting Barack Obama as thoroughly as they have other presidential candidates. With Donald Trump the best defense is a good offense, and that is a strategy the other Republican hopefuls had better understand this time. Why is the Tea Party now playing such a vital role in American Politics? Its members are angry and fed up with both parties they have reached a tipping point on the size of the Federal Government. They have grown tired of politicians playing footsie with the media, and they are tired of politicians compromising on the future of this once great nation. Trump echoes these concerns better than the so called frontrunners; he ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Did Women s Fashion Change In The 1800s Women s Fashion Changes, in the 1800s Imagine it was 1860 and the latest outfit just came out! Now I know it probably would not matter to you now if just one outfit came out cause millions of new clothes came out everyday but back then even if they came out with a new fabric pattern it was huge. Yes it was the Victorian era. Women s fashion in the 1800s saw the biggest change(Lucid Crew). From the hats to the shoes, from their sports wear to house wear. Or even if you have ever wonder where we got this idea, although some people may not have but we stole it from others, yes we may have improved on it but those people had it all figured out before we did. It took that history and made it help form the clothes today. Everyone owes thanks to those people. Then, black was the new black, Luxe labels came, there was name calling and fashion was flourishing. These modern day obsessions with black and big name labels are nothing new. People should not think that they started these trends but think way back then (Lucid Crew). Women s fashion in the 1800 s saw the biggest change because of it s great development in it s dressage timeline. The reason why this fashion timeline developed so much was because of all the new ideas of machines, fabrics, colors, and the people that created all of this that changed history. • 4. The Importance Of My Cultural Interview My culture is essential when understanding who I am as a person and as a future social worker. The top three elements of my culture include my gender, race, and religious affiliation. My gender, race, and religious affiliation can heavily impact an interview with a client by supporting and interfering with the interview process. While some elements of my culture are more easily viewable than others, all may have a gargantuan impact in my future social work career with my clients. Upon interviewing a client, one of the first aspects a client will notice about me is my gender. Discussing my gender is essential when talking about my cultural identity because being female has shaped my perspectives and experiences in this world and can even impact my interview with a client. There are advantages and disadvantages to being a female, mostly demonstrated within my interactions with others, and I will likely bring these advantages and disadvantages with me in a future interview. Many people, including possible clients, view females as more nurturing and compassionate when compared to male counterparts. This bias may influence my ability to do my job effectively and efficiently. This impact will likely be beneficial as clients could be more open to speaking with a counselor whom he or she believes could be more sympathetic towards his or her situation. In addition, being female can also positively impact my experiences with female clients especially those who have experienced ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A vaccine is defined as any preparation used as a preventive inoculation to confer immunity against a specific disease, usually employing an innocuous form of the disease agent, as killed or weakened bacteria or viruses, to stimulate antibody production (dictionary.com). The epidemic of smallpox is one of the most groundbreaking moments in medical history, It created the usage of vaccination to be extremely normal. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a culture are we getting vaccines because they are mandatory and a part of the social norm or is it because they actually work? Many infants and children are dying around the world due to preventable diseases; Dr. Robert Pearl says, There is nothing more disheartening for a physician than watching a patient die from a preventable cause. And, of course, the loss for the family involved is unimaginable (Forbes). The parents of children in underdeveloped nations of the world are in need of vaccines. However, in the United States it is a different story, where parents demand their children not to be vaccinated. Vaccines are readily available to people, yet they refuse for many different reasons. Most of the reasons given for not vaccinating children are because of religious reasons, forgetfulness, moral beliefs, monetary issues and the theory that vaccines cause other health related issues, such as autism. The citizens of the United States have been privileged with support from the government to vaccinate all people who requested to be vaccinated against preventable diseases. Many people around the world are powerless in getting vaccinated and die due to the lack of healthcare and resources and money. If parents have a choice to make about keeping their children protected then why are parents not vaccinating their children against preventable diseases? Immunizations ... • 6. Brain Boosters Of Nootropics A great mind often translates to success. An individual s intelligence is truly an asset in the competitive world. A functional brain can help a person stabilize his career and make decisions for a better future. In the past, medical scientists were convinced that intelligence is only inherited. Genetic factors are solely blamed for having a good mental capacity. However, the continuation of experiments concerning the human mind led to more details and another discovery: substances can enhance the cognitive and other brain areas temporarily, while it helps protect the brain from permanent damage. When this fact made it to the public, brain enhancers called Nootropics were stealing the limelight ever since. Over time, an individual loses control over his most prized possession: his mind. Seniors become forgetful and slow at reasoning. Apart from age, factors such as stress, alcoholic drinks and smoking have adverse effects on the brain. In order to minimize the negative effects of losing brain cells, brain booster pills are needed. These pills are proven to be effective in improving cognition with minimal or no side effects. Adults and children can include mental enhancers in their daily diets if they just control the dosage to reduce the risk of abnormal effects. Brain boosters of Nootropics are commonly used to improve the mental functions. Scientifically, Nootropics work on neural connections when they are present in the bloodstream. Their substances facilitate synaptogenesis, which is a process that is directly linked to learning, memory and other brain areas. • 7. Metentialism In Robert Frost s The Five People You Meet... It is when individuals overcome their differences and become viewed from different perspectives. This can offer new understandings and perceptions of ourselves and others. This is explored through Robert Frost s poetry including his poem Mending Wall and The Tuft of Flowers . Frost explores different perceptions of society in his time through his connections with nature and his personal life. This is also reflected through Mitch Albom s novel, The Five People You Meet in Heaven as the protagonist, Eddie experiences death and meets the five people who have influenced or he has influenced throughout his life. In Frost s poem Mending Wall , was written just months before World War I was declared. Also, political tensions between European countries were rising, it is through Frost s poetry where intellectual discoveries are uncovered. The persona of the poem meets with his neighbour to fix a wall between their properties. we meet to walk the line and set the wall between us once again . Frost utilises elements of irony to convey how the only time the persona and the neighbour meet, which is to rebuild the wall; the wall that keeps them apart. The persona comes to the first physical discovery of the usefulness of the wall itself, We do not need the wall: He is all pine and I am apple orchard which is metaphorical for the personalities of the two individuals presented. • 8. Pros And Cons Of Pelagianism In the years following 400 AD, the ideas of the monk Pelagius spawned a heresy that still affects people of the church today. Pelagianism holds that a man can take the initial and fundamental steps toward salvation by his own efforts, apart from God s Divine Grace (Slick). In a nutshell, Pelagius heresy states that man doesn t need help from God to be able to live a holy life and to get into heaven. Despite the heresy seeming to have nearly died out, it merely evolved into smaller actions that allow it to slowly take hold of our lives. As Thomas Aquinas once stated, heresies are a species of unbelief, and like other species, heresies like pelagianism will adapt in order to survive. Pope Francis made the comments he did about Pelagianism to make it known how it can sneak into our lives and, in addition, presents how we personally can avoid any further confusion. While Pelagianism may have began many years ago, it still has a large enough influence to cause Pope Francis to speak out against it today. To help clear confusion, Pope Francis shows us how we can t solely rely on ourselves for salvation and that we can always find help through God. • 9. Violent Media And Media Violence There are various explanations for the causes of violence. This remains significant because violence leads to many criminal activities in society today. For example, certain crimes such as assault or robbery involve the use of violence because the victim is injured or harmed in a physical way. The purpose of the study is to examine whether young adults who watch violent television programs are more likely to possess violent attitudes, which promotes aggressive behaviour like uttering threats or assault. This conveys that it s important to study the association between violent media and violent attitudes because it provides insight towards the increasing crime rates that occur in society. The rationale for conducting research on media violence provides explanations for the occurrences of violent crimes because violent media is considered a significant factor for violent attitudes, which leads to various types of violent crimes committed by adolescents and young adults. Other significant studies have expressed their interest in the topic regarding the media s influence on violence. The study The Influence of Media Violence on Youth examines whether violent videogames increases the probability of individuals engaging in violent activities such as uttering threats and physical assaults (Anderson et al., 2003). The research involves participants such as children because they are more likely to be associated with violent media such as videogames (Anderson et al., 2003). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Competency models describe the behaviors and skills managers need to exhibit if an organization is to be successful (Hughes, Ginnett, Curphy, p. 252). This is also evident by the fact Rush can lead a large trucking company, but also community organizations. Both have different leadership styles which she has to properly adjust to. Another competency displayed by Rush is customer focus which is maintaining a clear focus on customer needs and demonstrating a strong desire to provide exemplary customer service; and actively seeks ways to increase customer satisfaction. With the formation of the company, Rush accepted every shipping job, even if she had to drive the trucks herself. She pays attention and exceeds customer s expectations regardless of circumstances. Such as the case of when local bridges were shutdown during September 11th attacks, Rush made a crucial shipment by renting a barge. 2. How does the Leadership Pipeline apply to Andra Rush? Community corrections can be defined as orders and strict instructions given to convicted adults and young ones, which occur in a community setting outside jail or prison. It involves the supervision and management of offenders by community correction officers in the community. It usually happens when offenders are imposed to undertake community projects as an alternative to imprisonment. It can also be a condition of release on parole from prison. When small ditches were etched into the farmland, and every rainstorm the ditches kept expanding wider and deeper. While the choreography remains the same, the colors are much darker than a normal stage production would be. Since the film is a thriller with a dark tone, the colors fit the mood better than the bright, cool colors of a normal stage production. Even in the scenes with the White Swan, the color palette is somewhat more somber than normal. The lighting has a red tent to it when Nina is dancing the White Swan. This could be a symbol of even when she is most innocent, there is still darkness surrounding her. She also messes up during that time as well so the red could also be adding to the fact that she is so far gone by the Black Swan that she can no longer dance the White Swan. Also, the costuming of the antagonist, Rothbart, is much more monster like and bulky than the original slim leotard that is easy to dance and move with. This is to show how small Nina is compared to him, and that the darkness that is inside of her can overcome her. The Importance Of Proper Sexual Education On Sex Kaislyn Lyons Mr. Ray English 1301.3 20 November 2015 The Importance of Proper Sexual Education In life, high school especially, sexual education is very important and can truly impact a person s life. Improper education on sex can lead to many life changing mistakes. These blunders can be avoided with proper knowledge. Although students should be encouraged to remain abstinent, they should still be taught about contraception and practicing safe sex. With proper sexual education, abstinence rates will increase and the numbers of teenage parents will decrease. In today s society, sex is everywhere. It is on TV, in music, in novels, magazines, and even hidden. As a teenager, peer pressure also has a very strong presence. Kids are encouraged by their peers to look a certain way, act a certain way, belief certain things, and change themselves to fit in with the norm . Whenever they do not meet the standards of society they are teased for being different. This negativity increases when it comes to the topics of sex. Just because an individual has chosen to abstain for sexual activity, they are dubbed an outcast. Their beliefs and strong morals come back to bite them in the presence of their peers. Premarital sex is often glamorized. Teens are shown that engaging in sex is cool despite the risks. This obscure view is due to a lack of information and proper education. This occurs in the case of honour killings and gender equality. Firstly, it should be noted that the purpose of special rights is to promote equality and ensure all groups have equal footing. While I agree with this idea in theory, in practice I do not believe it is successful. I believe this because there are certain cultural traditions that may conflict with others and thus, not promote equality. For example, honour killings are the homicide of someone by the members of their family. This occurs when the perpetrator believes that the victim has brought dishonour to the family by refusing an arranged marriage or engaging in a homosexual relationship, etc. There are a plethora of reasons behind why someone would commit this type of murder, all of which, are unacceptable in any civilized society in my opinion. According to Canadian laws and the morals of most Canadian citizens, murder for any reason is acceptable and against the law. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. The Reason Why Germany Lost World War I Throughout history, there are different groups that experienced worldwide hate. Countries did not feel comfortable with them being in their country. The Jews and Muslims experience very similar hatred in history. The hatred of the Jews occurred during the 1940s during the time of Hitler. Hitler felt they were a threat to Germans and the superior race . During present time, the Muslims are experiencing the same worldwide hate as the Jews, even though they are a religious group. The only difference between the two is that Jews were more peaceful and a terrorist group named ISIS is giving the Muslims a bad name worldwide. The Jews were persecuted because Hitler felt that they were the reason why Germany was in such bad economic shape after World War I and they were also the reason why Germany lost World War I. Hitler made this known to the world and different nations agreed with him. But the Jews being the scapegoat began before Hitler became ruler of Germany. Jews have been the scapegoat for many centuries. At one point England had Jews banned from their country. The reason why nations blame Jews first is because they have been disliked for many years so it is easier for countries to blame them than to admit when their country is at fault. Jews have been known to be the chosen ones and to be economically stable (have money) so when the economy collapsed in Germany after World War I, Jews where immediately blamed. • 33. War Themes During The Falklands War War Themes There were various war themes identified during the Falklands war. One of the biggest challenges the British encountered during the war was logistics, which supports the theme on Resourcing and Sustaining the war. Considering that Britain is more than 8,000 miles away compared to Argentina which is less than 1,000 miles away from Falklands. The critical to the campaign of Britain was the transport of supply, troops rotation and reinforcement were difficult to handle. Admiral Fieldhouse pointed out that geographic location was his foremost considerations in transporting troops, aircraft and equipment from the United Kingdom to the operational theatre. Further, the British at that has limited number of ships required for the long transit of troops, equipment and logistic support. The British government was able to tap the assistance of private ship owners who lend their assets to boost the slack in the resources to transport the logistics used during the war which resulted to the success of the British war campaign in Falklands island. The Political objective of war was clear on both sides. Britain projected an international image of naval power and that it can still protect its colonies and her worthy allies. • 34. The Gross Clinic Gender Roles Thomas Eakins, an American painter, is recognized for his anatomical depictions of men and women in his paintings. In the Romantic era, it was known for artists to illustrate scenes which evoke emotions; however, Eakins The Gross Clinic (1875) bluntly portrayed a bloody surgery, which was not received well, due to the fact that few other painting depicted such a vulgar and graphic scene. In the nineteenth century, men were viewed as the rational, reasonable and intellectual beings, superior over the passive and submissive qualities of women. In that time period, man was considered woman s superior over God s appointment. Eakins portrayal of men and women reflect the characters of both sexes present in his society. • 35. Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Essay Despite the absence of a cure or preventative measures for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, there have been notable advances in both diagnostic techniques and successful treatments available. Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is also known as HCM. It is a genetic condition in which the myocardium or heart muscle in the left ventricle is thickened. HCM cannot be identified by a single complaint or symptom as it is different for every person that it affects. This disease not only causes left ventricle hypertrophy but can also cause ventricle stiffness, mitral valve changes, and other cellular changes. This photo shows the difference between what a normal unaffected heart looks like and what a heart that suffers from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy looks like. Thickening most commonly occurs at the septum of the heart which separates the right and left sides of the heart. The thickening significantly affects the blood flow through the heart causing the ventricles to have to pump harder in attempt to continue normal blood flow. Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy was discovered by Donald Teare, a pathologist, about five decades ago (1958). Over the last 50 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (1994). When Memories And Events Become Institutionalized In A When memories and events become institutionalized in a museum setting, they become the lens through which present and future generations gaze into past. National museums promote local history and identity, but what about multinational museums and multinational identity? This is the question the European Union hopes to address with their sanctioning of the House of European History (HEH). The main goal of the HEH is to create a collection of permanent and temporary exhibitions to invite people into a space where the concept of the European idea can continue to grow and the knowledge and dissemination of the culture and history of the European peoples can be improved (Committee of Experts, 2008, p.5). In the very first point, it is outlined that the museum should be a place where a memory of European history and the work of European unification is jointly cultivated (Committee of Experts, 2008, p.3). Some of the main themes that the museum is supposed to represent include the diversity of history and a commonality of roots, peace, liberty, and a willingness to live together, as well as the idea of progress and keeping the idea of Europe alive. In the second section, it talks about the academic goals of the museum and the way it should be set up in order to be accessible to a variety of people, such as free admission and explanatory texts in multiple languages (twenty four to be precise) (Committee of Experts, 2008). The HEH is meant to be an independent institution that provides education to the young people of Europe in order for them to become active citizens in shaping the EU s future. • 38. History of Time Telling Machines The Tick in the Clock New technology often begins with the clear intention of solving an ongoing problem or satisfying a societal need. Many times, this new piece of technology is simple, such as the toothpick. Other times, a new technology can be a thing of great complexity, such as a computer hard drive or Facebook. One piece of technology in particular has changed the way human society has functioned over the past few centuries. Everyone strives to keep track of time, as more and more technologies arise and give way to an increased demand for a structured day. In order to do this, one looks up at a clock. The clock, to put it simply, is a device used to tell the hours, minutes, and seconds of a day. According to Artemidorus of Daldis, a second century A.D. writer, A clock signifies occupations and undertakings, movements and the start of transactions. For men keep their eyes on the time in all that they do, (Dohrn van Rossum 17). Not only does a clock keep track of time, it signifies the need for the human race to organize and control their surroundings, as it has been from the first encounter between technology and the human race. The technology of a clock is simple yet varied. The clock s shell is usually made out of brass, copper, tin or zinc. After the shell is molded the components of the clock are assembled; significant working parts including the face, arms, power source, gear train, escapement, wheels, mainspring, pendulum and quartz are all ... Organizations that have strong and unique cultures generally experience excellent performance which implies why many of the most successful organizations today are thriving and growing because, in large part, of their unique and strong styles and values towards corporate culture. Yet these same conditions pose a critical set of challenges but yet retain the essential cultural elements that have made it attractive and resilient. And as work life becomes increasingly symbolic and reality is indeed being constructed within people s minds, the organizations will be able to develop and facilitate corrective actions towards self directed work teams rather than simply direct and control. I furthermore believe that the same methodologies will work for both organizations through an approach that promotes organizational design that goes beyond the quality circles or ad hoc problem solving teams. I would recommend to these two organizations to reduce the process to individual steps which will allow work to become restructured around the whole process instead of organizing work based on the traditional model that reduces the required skill at every level of work, producing boredom in the bottom level jobs and integrate a new system that connects the needs of the people with the work to be done, and those closest to the jobs help design the job. • 41. O Flaherty s Use Of Suspense In The Sniper The Sniper by Liam O Flaherty demonstrates the best use of suspense, over the two other stories, The Dogs Could Teach Me by Gary Paulsen, and The Flowers by Alice Walker. The whole story is about a sniper waiting in anticipation of whether or not he will be the one to take a life or have his be stolen from him, the other stories don t display the same level of heart pounding suspense that leaves the reader on the edge of their seat. For instance, in the rising of the story The Flowers the author says, She had often been as far before, but the strangeness of the land made it not as pleasant as her usual haunts. It seemed gloomy in the little cove in which she found herself. The air was damp, the silence close and deep. • 43. The Scope Of Computerized Threat Rootkits Essay In the scope computerized threat rootkits are not given the credit they deserve. They tend to be minimized while they proved to be a much serious danger. Dr Mark Ciampa had categorized rootkits under the concealment subgroup of malware, which avoiding detection is their primary characteristic. He had briefly defined rootkits as set software tools used to hide the actions of other types of software by changing the operating system to force it to ignore their malicious files and activities. Rootkits also hide or remove all traces of evidence that may reveal the malware, he said. His definition is not totally accurate even though he pin pointed the main purpose for what rootkits are used for, which is concealment. Contrary to the popular believe rootkits are not malware and not necessarily malicious. Greg Hoglund and James Butler in the Subverting Windows Kernel Rootkits book identified rootkits as a computing technology that can be used for evil or goods purposes. For the sake of this paper, the attention given to rootkits will be focusing on understanding what a rootkit is and how it works, the different type of rootkits and their implementations, detection measure to not get infected and preventive measure to avoid infection. Before, delving into the subject it s important to highlight that rootkits can be whitehat or blackhat. A black hat use of rootkits is clearly attributed for a malicious agenda.
