Mein Kampf Adolf Hitler
When World War 1 ended Germany was left with an economic depression that made many jobless
which led to a powerful dictator to takeover named Adolf Hitler. Hitler was the leader of his political
group called National Socialist German Workers Party that expressed German Nazism. On 1923, the
group planned takeover the German government in Munich but the plan failed and Hitler arrested for
treason. Hitler had to serve 9 months in prison and wrote his book, Mein Kampf. Mein Kampf
outlined Hitler s plan to make Germany better by reversing the effects of the Treaty of Versailles and
the idea that Germans are the superior master race. After serving his sentence Hitler came back to the
Nazi party to gain political power but the party was unsuccessful

Cultural Differences Between Modern Day North And South
Toronto to Texas the Journey
Changes occur in every region of the world; every minute, every second. Most people generally do not
approve of changes. It causes fear, mistrust, isolation, and even pain. In my youth, I liked changes.
Changes were something to look forward to, it s fun to meet new people and an enjoyable way to see
new places. It was useful to learn new skills and live experiences. So at the age of fifteen, my mother
told me we were headed for America. No attention was given to these words, because I was a teenager
who thought that the state of Texas would be quite similar to Toronto, but never did I imagine that this
will completely change my perception of change. These changes have led me to understand the
different culture between the north and south, not to believe in stereotypes, and made me adaptable.
I can t even begin to explain the massive cultural differences between modern day North and South.
Most people assume only climate and slang are the major difference in the two, however they could
not be more wrong. Especially between Toronto and Wichita Falls, Texas. It may sound obvious but
there is geographical difference. For one in the North we have more clear and fast rivers, and we
almost always have a bay. While in the south, the soil is agriculturally more fertile, so in essence we
see more farms and large areas of land. Also there is a huge population difference between Wichita
Falls and Toronto, which is easily amongst the biggest and most

The Role Of Auteurs In Wes Craven s Films
[Intro sentence] These film makers are called auteurs, the French word for author . This is exactly how
the French film theorist first described these film makers during the French New Wave of the 1950 s.
They saw, that much like a writer, an auteur controlled may aspects of the film and they gave it just as
much character as its screenplay did. Well known auteurs include Tim Burton, for his re use of Johnny
Depp and ghoulish themes as well as Alfred Hitchcock, coined the master of suspense for his array of
plot twists within his films. This video essay will cover another great auteur, Wes Craven, whose work
on films such as The Hills have Eyes (1977) , Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and The Serpent and
the Rainbow (1988) , is a legacy in the horror genre today.

Real Life Examples
Despite his background in the horror genre and his words The first monster you have to scare the

Persuasive Essay On Maternity Leave
Only 9% percent of American companies offer paid paternity leave for all their employees
(Ramnarace,). Since Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) are underpaid, it is very hard for fathers
to be able to take a long absence from work and not be paid for the time off. 86 percent of men said
they would not take a paid leave unless they made at least 70 percent of their current salary
(Ramnarace,). There are 79 countries that have laws that require companies to offer paternity leave for
fathers. There are 29 countries in Africa, 7 in Asia, 5 in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, 12 in Lain
America, 2 in the Middle East, and 24 in the Developed Economies (Ramnarace,). The United States
is still behind by only having 4 states that have adopted the new laws allowing fathers a leave of
absence from work with some sort of pay. While the current family leave law allows for 12 work
weeks of unpaid, job protected leave in a 12 month period, I believe the law should be expanded
worldwide to allow paid leave for all fathers without using their accumulated paid leave credits
(Parental).

working part time or taking the unpaid time off fathers feel they are not doing the right thing by

receive 70% of more of their current hourly rate, I feel that more fathers would take advantage of this

Organic Compounds Lab Report Essay
Identifying Organic Compounds
Joe Harris 11/12/07
1. Background Organic compounds are, by definition, any chemical compound containing carbon.
These compounds include carbohydrates, polysaccharides, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids. Each
one of these compounds has a different purpose. Carbohydrates give energy to cells when consumed.
Lipids are basically the fats of a cell. Proteins are the building blocks of muscle in a cell. Nucleic acids
are used to transfer genetic information from one cell to the other. The purpose of this lab is to simply

Women s Basketball Team Case Study
The LeTourneau University women s basketball team posted an 87 79 win over UT Dallas on
Thursday night in Longview.
The YellowJackets (15 9, 10 4 ASC) were led by junior Crystal Jones, who scored a game high 31
points. She was joined in double figures by juniors LaTanya Drakes and Jada Roberts, who had 20 and
17 points, respectively.
For Jones, it is her fourth 30 point game on the season and also the fourth time that she has made at
least six 3 pointers in a game. Jones tied a LETU single game record with 29 field goal attempts. She
matched the effort by Tracey Pepper back in the 1995 96 season. 20 of her 31 points came in the first
half. Drakes pulled down 19 rebounds to record her eighth double double of the season; plus for

This team found a way again to pull off a big win, said LETU head women s basketball coach Leslie
Reinecker. We knew it was going to be a battle for 40 minutes and we found a way to play through the
adversities to finish down the stretch. We focused all week on doing the little things and we did those
when it mattered. We fought hard and our players made plays at the end.
LeTourneau found itself behind for the entire first half and late into the third quarter until a put back
attempt by Drakes culminated a 17 5 spurt with 3:20 left in the quarter that put the YellowJackets
ahead 53 51. Following the fifth tie of the game, early in the fourth quarter, an 11 3 run by the

Power through Position:
How the United States Strategically Forged the Free University of West Berlin
The year was 1948, and the Soviets were holding control of West Berlin with a strategic blockade
(Granieri 1035). Since the Soviets had full control of East Germany, establishing themselves as a
powerhouse was a priority. However, the United States had another idea in mind, one that did not
include giving up their West Berlin territory. A new initiative was underway, an operation to get
supplies from the United States to West Berlin (Granieri 1035). Actions taken by military personnel
and representatives from both nations can be looked at like playing a game of chess: by taking actions

The Free University was going to bring with it a new dynamic to an old West Berlin. Originally, the
idea behind the university was to bind together West Berlin with the western powers who controlled it;
a goal to westernize and make anew a post industrialized society by creating new urban
neighborhoods and roads that promised more logistical presence, due the increase in automobiles
throughout the growing microcosm that this territory embodied (Baird 69). In addition to the external
city improvements, the university promised to be an institution of grand proportion with Candilis, an

Three Famous Men Of Shakespeare Research Paper
Three Famous Men of Shakespeare s Time
Three important people during the time of Shakespeare were Galileo Galilei, Martin Luther, and
Francisco Vasquez de Coronado. These men all had great influence in their respective fields during the
sixteenth century. Galileo worked in several similar fields: astronomy, mathematics, and inventing.
Martin served as a pastor and major leader in the Reformation. Francisco served the Spanish in
Mexico and is often remembered for his conquests and explorations in America. Although none of
these men seemed to have known Shakespeare, they can give an accurate picture of his world.
Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564. Many people remember that he founded the idea of

Syntax And Diction In My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke
The controversial poem, My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke has spurred passionate academic
debate from professors, scholars, and students alike; the imagery, syntax, and diction of the poem
clearly support the interpretation that Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to reminisce on a bittersweet
memory with his father. His unclear commemoration has sparked a divide on what the true purpose of
the poem is. Some may argue the poem s purpose is to shine light on the subject of abuse, whereas
others believe the father and son were sharing a moment while roughly playing. However, the more
one examines this piece of literature, it becomes undeniable that the poem portrays a scene of a toxic
father son relationship. Although there are a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main form of syntax that Roethke uses is rhyme scheme. My Papa s Waltz contains a simple
ABAB rhyme scheme, in which many slant rhymes are used; further, this makes the poem sound
similar to the way a song would. Notably, waltzes are guided dances... just as the father in My Papa s
Waltz, guided his son through life. Yet, it is also important to note that waltzes are meant to be simple,
swift, and loving. Although waltzes are described as these things, Roethke s childhood is described as
a waltz gone wrong. He makes it obvious he faces abuse and the effects of alcoholism in his early life.
As stated, the rhyme scheme used by Roethke helps develop the true main idea of this poem by
shaping it as it were a song, more specifically a waltz. If the poem, My Papa s Waltz, was a song, it
would be a pessimistic and depressing one. Clearly, Roethke s unfortunate experiences portrayed by
using syntax make us one step closer to discovery the real purpose of the poem. In short, the syntax of
this story shapes its meaning through rhyme scheme. Diction is arguably the most important literary
device carried throughout the duration of this poem. Many readers were disoriented by the use of
Roethke s word choice, yet it is arguably the most indisputable piece of evidence used to portray the
background of abuse in the author s poem. Roethke uses words that carry negative connotations such
as: beat, battered, death, and more.

1985 Dbq
DBQ 1985 The colonists were living in a brand new country that had no track record. Considering that
the articles of confederation had no precedent to follow, and no other government to imitate; the
articles were fairly good. However, the Articles of Confederation could have been more effective than
they were. Effective does not necessarily mean that the government was strong. It does mean that the
government was able to provide the people with the kind of government they wanted and needed.
Also, ineffective does not necessarily mean weak. The Articles were deliberately written for a weak
central government, the colonists set it up they way they wanted to. Despite the fact that they one the

They were not immediately ratified because there were land disputes and there had to be a unanimous
decision. Everybody hat wanted and claimed more land than they had. New Jersey, Maryland and
Delaware all had no claims. These states were the ones who initially refused to ratify the Articles; they
were not prepared to ratify a constitution which gave them no say in any matters. The larger states on
the other hand felt that they were underrepresented. They were hoping for more equality in size
(document E). Eventually, Maryland changed their minds about ratifying the constitution because they
ceded the land. Since the government could not tax, they were in major financial trouble. They began
to print continentals which were not backed by any commodities so they were worthless. The rest of
the world meanwhile was waiting to see how Britain would react; so they were afraid to get too
friendly with the colonists. The colonists though, knew that it was time to build up trade and trust with
other countries. Eventually, their financial plans fell through, so France and the Netherlands made
loans and were able to help keep the United States afloat. The Articles of Confederation confirmed the
weak decentralized system which was already in operation. The Articles did not make it clear that the
Congress was to be a real government. It was therefore, an uncertain central government. Many
people felt that the colonists should just try to set up a new confederation

Governing The Commons Summary
When the subject comes to the use of the natural resources in the public space in the world, where
scarcity prevails, Elinor Ostrom, the author of the book Governing the Commons (1990), argues that
nor a totally centralized control of the common pool resources is a solution, nor a full accessibility to
everyone is a way to go either. Based on the paradox, that even though individuals are rational, by
acting rationally they will likely contribute to collectively irrational outcomes , Ostrom critiques the
three approaches that have been applied (at least in the theory) to resolve the distribution of the
common pool resources. The first approach is known as The tragedy of the commons, which presumes
that every (common pool) user has a good nature and does not cheat. This approach results in the
degradation of the environment as many individuals use a scarce resource in common. (p16) The
second approach is Prisoner s Dilemma, in which an actor makes a rational choice based on cost
benefit analysis. This approach implies two strategies: cooperate or defect . Cooperate strategy would
mean that the participant cooperates and shares the common pool resource equally, whereas defect
strategy , a strategy that more likely would be chosen due to lack of communication between the
parties, implies that the participant uses/extracts as much resource as he can sell for profit (p.18) The
third is the Collective Action approach, which suggests that proportionally to the size of the group,
there is a necessity that someone (external) comes in and regulates it. ... Show more content on

The Incidence Of Alzheimer s Disease Essay
Etiology
The incidence of Alzheimer s disease is 36 million people worldwide as of 2010, making it the most
common cause of senile dementia. 1This number is expected to nearly double, to 65.7 million by
2030.1AD is accompanied by pathological features consistent with brain atrophy and neural cell
death. 1The inflammatory response of the brain, that is commonly found in AD, is linked to several
factors. 1Amyloid B, inflammatory cytokines, and sphingolipids are some of the known factors
associated with AD. 1Uncontrolled inflammation, from ongoing or chronic complement activation is
theorized to impact Alzheimer s disease, among other diseases. 2 Recent GWAS shows strong
evidence that complement receptor CR1 is linked to the development of AD, although the mechanistic
basis for the CR1 risk remains largely unknown.2
Pathogenesis
Emerging evidence demonstrates neuroinflammation as a crucial pathophysiology of AD, specifically
impacted by microglia and astroglia. 3 The microglia are distributed evenly across the brain and are
activated by protein aggregation and neuronal cell death. 3 Specifically related to AD, the two chief
proteins involved are amyloid B and tau.3 An accumulation of microglia around amyloid B plaques
has been documented in post mortem human brains and in animal models with AD.3 Research has yet
to clearly determine if microglial activation plays a beneficial or detrimental role in the progression of
AD..3 Some reports suggest that microglia are attracted to

Facebook now allows users to upload a picture of their choice to show at the top of their online
profile. Aside from customizing the looks of online profiles, the content that users post on social
networking sites also is a form of self expression. Certain people may always seem to have funny
statuses, while another may always post quotes, while another always posts song lyrics, and another
simply posts updates about their everyday life. Users of social networking sites often use their online
profile as a reflection of themselves. This is one of the positive effects of social networking. It
encourages creativity, self expression, and allows people to get inspired and define themselves. They
use it as a way to set themselves apart from the crowd. Being different is celebrated on social
networking sites, because it makes everything more interesting. Social networking is allowing some
users to make friends with people they maybe wouldn t consider talking to in person, and allowing
people to see some points of view they may not have considered before. It has the potential to really
bring us all closer together, and gives us all a more open minded attitude about each other. Social
networking has also helped to connect us with people all around the world (Pizano). Years earlier

Effects Of Transcendentalism

that, sooner or later, will be forgotten about, buried in the darkest crevices of one s closet or, perhaps,
already on their way to the dumpster. I have oftentimes wondered what instigates people to
accumulate objects, which end up barely fulfilling their needs, therefore, initiating the never ending
cycle of consumerism. Having lived in the United States for seventeen years, I have come to

To my knowledge, many people, including transcendentalists Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David

they have, inevitably, sparked a movement of minimalism, that merits much more attention than it

provided that most Americans are already heavily indebted. Exploring the multiple factors that
account for such a prodigious trend in our country could help us identify and counteract the effects

The Discovery Of Crude Oil And Oil Prices
Introduction
Agricultural production which used to be the mainstay of Nigerian economy has been declined as
results of crude oil discovery and subsequent increase in production and exportation of crude oil (Edo
(2013). The discovery of crude oil and appreciation of oil price in the World market some years ago
leads Nigerian government to abandon all other means of revenue generations including agriculture,
just to depend solely on crude oil revenue to finance most of her budgets. However, crude oil exports
are no longer sustaining the economy due to current downturn in crude oil price. For instance, the
Nigerian government generated lots of revenues from crude oil exports but majority of her populations
are still under the poverty line (Shaxson, 2005). Therefore, there is need to source revenue generations
through other means. Among those means of revenue generation is through increase in agriculture
production and exportation. But the sector needs massive overhaul and developments in order to yield
fruitful results. Developments of agricultural sector will require serious investments in the sector,
which is done properly, will improve export revenues in country through an increase in agriculture
output and exportation. This therefore calls for an urgent need to assist farmers with capitals,
improved and hybrid crops and livestock, and subsidize agricultural inputs which in effect will
increase agricultural yields (Jerven, 2014). For instance, in many developing

There`s Always Laughter to Life
There`s always laughter to life Understanding life and why things happen is impossible. Life is like a
game, accepting the things that life throws at us is the challenge. For some, giving up is the key to life.
For others it`s important to look at the bright side of life and live on. Nick Hornby tackles very serious
issues in his novels Slam and A Long Way Down. However, he addresses the topics in a more comic
manner which creates a more appealing and effective story. In both novels, Hornby takes on serious
issues in today`s society. Although lessons are to be learned about these issues, he takes a funny
approach to telling the story. In Slam, several issues arise with a 16 year old boy. The first big issue he

But something happened (Hornby, Slam 61). He gives a great deal of detail of what has happened, and
even puts emotion into what he is saying to a reader. Although Sam is usually calm, he gets rather
angry when his mother brings up his birth, Yeah, yeah. It f***** up your life (Hornby Slam 59). This
is quite ironic, because Sam believes her life is messed up due to an early baby. However, although an
accident, Sam is planning on having a child with Alicia at the age of 16 as well. Hornby uses these
parallels to create a comic image in his readers mind. Alicia s parents play a strong role in Sam s life.
Hornby uses them as the stereotypical strict parents. Andrea, a counsellor becomes very upset about
the pregnancy. Robert Burns, a college professor is furious about the pregnancy. This puts extra
pressure on Sam and his struggles. Hornby uses the parents to create some controversy, which is
another great comedy technique. Squires 4 Characters in A Long Way Down are very diverse. Hornby
relates to every character in a way, I have a disabled son of my own, and there are lots of things in her
that I m clued into (Hornby). When able to relate to characters in your own novel, it s easy to joke
about things you may have experienced yourself as an author. Hornby does a great job with character

Effects Of Smoking On Children And Children
ntroduction
For many years, second hand smoke has been affecting the lungs of many people. While most of these
people can get away from it, one significant population does not always have that option. Innocent
children and infants are most affected by second hand smoke. Unfortunately, these adolescents do not
know that it is causing major health effects to their underdeveloped bodies. Children and infants
involuntary inhale smoke in their homes and on the streets where they live. Laws regarding smoking
in restaurants, on playgrounds, and on school properties have majorly decreased the risks. However, it
is not limited to those areas. There are more ways to decrease it. Interventions that reduce second hand
smoke in homes where children live and reduce smoking before, during and after birth will decrease
an infant s exposure. Providing counseling, follow up techniques, and education to parents, or primary
caretakers who smoke are two ways that can help them quit and realize the harmful effects that
smoking actually has on their children. Focusing on the individual who is harmed in these situations is
not always the answer. One must focus on the one who is causing the effects because second hand
smoke is not something that children can avoid themselves.
Intervention Strategy 1: Reduction in second hand smoke in the home
Children spend most of their time in their homes. If parents, older siblings or the primary caretakers
smoke in the house it increases the chance of them

Dunkin Brand Has Transformed Its It Security Department Of...
The Security department of any company can be seen as the department that says no because they are
the ones who usually put the axe down on ideas. As stated in the article about Dunkin Brands, Security
departments have long been thought of as a place where ideas go to die, This idea has been planted
well into the minds of workers in every division of almost any business. Security departments go by
the book, sometimes can lack innovation, and tend to do things in order to maintain protection for the
business vs building the business. Dunkin Brand has reinvented its IT security department for this
reason. Jack Sullivan has it right when coming up with an idea to reimage and rebuild the security
world. He changed the chain s vision by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the ways that Sullivan knows that this new way of thinking is working is by the reception he is
receiving from other departments within Dunkin. We are now at the table for every decision as it
pertains to risk mitigation globally... he says. Security departments can also add value to an
organization by sharing knowledge within the company to better build a place for its customers. With
so many aspects of a person s daily life going digital, understanding how cyber security is vital to
every person is important. An example of this would be Apple s value of personal security through its
value of corporate security. In order to understand how to keep a customer s information secure, it is
imperative to understand how to keep an organization s information secure. Apple bases its decisions
off of the innovations of its workers. iCloud and ApplePay would not be at the forefront of technology
without the help of its security department. Through the idea of building privacy into everything
Apple makes, it is thinking of ways to protect the privacy of their customers. When you pay for
groceries, message a friend, track a workout, or share a photo, you shouldn t have to worry about your
information falling into the wrong hands. The personal data on your devices should be protected and
never shared without your permission. That s why we build strong, innovative safeguards into the
things we make , says the company s website. This

Leadership Theories Applied By Coach Carter

coach of a high school basketball team in the same high school he graduated from with the challenge
of getting the team winning, this man holds a hall of fame record in that school and as such has a
reputation to keep. He went on to not only improve the team s performance on the court but also turn

English Class Reflection
I can say with a high degree of confidence that AP Upper Mid English has been unlike any other
English course that I have taken during my academic career. Put plainly, the material and in class
instruction of the class is revelatory in every sense of the term, and, overall, the organization and
matter of the course was exceptional. In terms of the organization of the course as a whole, I believe
that the English Department was able to successfully distill all of the dominant aspects of learning that
an English class epitomizes into the relatively short period of time that school is in session. In my
experience, I have found the class to be organized and structured competently. The schedule,
curriculum, and writing assignments were easy to understand and I felt as though I exited the
classroom every class feeling as if I accomplished what I had to for that day and I had a definite grip
on what to expect for the next class. That being said, I think it is also imperative for me to mention
that the course was not overly constricting or overly structured either the schedule had enough
malleability to accommodate for impromptu activities. For instance, when Bob Levy, an acclaimed
journalist for the Washington Post, visited Taft, our class used our period to have a invigorating
conversation with him about the future of Internet Privacy, a conversation that I think was instructive
and, in all likelihood, prepared me for the AP Exam just as much as the traditional class that we

The Federalism Of The United States
Americans utilize the Federalism idea as putting into effect the Constitution for Federal, State, and
Local governments. These areas are served as different areas with different needs and goals within the
federalist theory. The National Government has expressed powers over the nation and subjects that
effect our nation. The State has limited powers that are involved within the State s boundaries. The
local government is expressed to help regulate the states. All together the governments make one
unitary system that can metaphorically be described as a cake. The breakup of federalism started out
being broken up in layers, like a layer cake, with distinct separated powers of National government
and State. Accordingly, as the New Federalism ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The arguments resembled that the Federalist held the upper hand since they were wealthy landowners
to take charge of the democracy. Conversely, Antifederalist were afraid to give into signing the
constitution in favor of the Federalist ideas because they felt it would grant too much power to the
National Government instead of the States. The dispute between the Federalist and Antifederalist lead
to, what is known today, as a breakthrough of famous Federalist Papers that lead to the greater
understanding of the Constitution. The Federalist Papers appeared as persuasive writings developed by
what we know today as historical figures that make up the founding fathers of the ratification of the
Constitution. The writings of the Federalist argued that they held the privilege to secure the
government to favor the economy. The Federalist wrote to convince the public in the newspapers that
their views and actions would create a perfect balance and protect the Nation s people. On the other
hand, Anti Federalist opposed ratification of the Constitution in favor of the federalist ideas. The
Antifederalist persuaded that the Federalist would favor slavery, and people s rights would be in
danger. The two groups feuding created an important factor in the U.S. Constitution. Like so, the
Federalist considered the Antifederalist ideas and managed to compromise a Bill of Rights to be added
to the Constitution in favor of absolute security to people s rights

Native Americans Of North Carolina Essay
American Indians had been living in North Carolina for at least 9,500 years before European explorers
first encountered them in the 1520 s. For the past several decades an increasing number of Americans
have been identifying as American Indians. For centuries before European contact, these native people
lived in harmony with the natural environment, taking no more from the land than they needed to
survive. Of all the states in the Union, North Carolina has witnessed the largest increase in Native
American population during the past 100 years, based upon official government census documents.

political body, administered by a chief and a vice chief who are elected to four year terms.
Haliwa Saponi
The Haliwa Saponi people are descendents of the Saponi, Tuscarora, Occaneechee, Tutelo, and
Nansemond Indians. In the 1700s these five tribes merged, settling in the area of Halifax and Warren
counties where the Haliwa Saponi live today. In 1957, the Haliwa Saponi established the only tribal
school recognized by North Carolina at the time. Today, the school building houses the Haliwa Saponi
Tribal Charter School. The tribe s home base is in Hollister, NC. The tribe is under the leadership of a
council and chief. The Tribal Council consists of 10 members, the Chief and the Vice Chief. The
current population of the tribe is at least 3,005. The Haliwa Saponi leadership has focused upon three
major issues during the past two decades: tribal self sufficiency, preservation of tribal culture, and
improving the quality of life of its members.

Robber Barons Summary
In Taking Sides Howard Zinn and Andrew S. Gordon argue yes or no to believe if the 19th century
entrepreneurs Robber Baron ? The late nineteenth century is best known for its exceptional growth in
extensive business. Across the nation, little organizations were being supplanted by titan partnerships
and mechanical combinations, prompting another, uncommon level of riches for the business
visionaries who created them. With the increment in enormous business came another level of riches
that had never been seen. They likewise mercilessly separated unions and strikes and, to guarantee that
their power would not be taken from them, they paid off city, state, and national government officials
to stay great to huge organizations. The late nineteenth century prompted more political corruption
and oppression that the United States had ever found in the work environment, which is the reason
these specialists were truth be told robber barons, not the chiefs of industry they wished to depict
themselves as. Howard Zinn argues that 19th century entrepreneurs were robber barons because new

Racial Differences In The Millennial Generation
By being surrounded by various races for as long as I remember, it was just natural to adapt to the
situation. I feel that as a generation we are not uncomfortable when we are the only one who is a
different race in a situation. While I was brainstorming where I was going to go for this project, I was
conflicted. I did not understand why being a minority somewhere would make someone
uncomfortable. In today s world, there are examples of all races at the top and at the bottom. That even
though there are racial issues still, the protestors are filled with diversity. As a generation, we are ones
to come together through our views and opinions, rather than our race or ethnic background.
Beforehand, if it was split, it was because of racism. But now that there are examples for everyone, it
is based on our beliefs. According to William Frey, racial diversity will be the most defining and
impactful characteristic of the millennial generation (Frey, 2016). Frey mentions that millennials have
the ability to assimilate, advocate and accept different races and make the transition to a more racially
diverse nation more successful (Frey, 2016).
Tatishe Nteta conducted a discussion where she analyzes the racial attitudes from adolescents in the
21st century compared to the racial attitudes from older generations. She found that as time went on,
the norm of racial equality was more widespread and that racial relations were not as contentious as
compared to earlier eras (Nteta,

Hare Checklist Case Study
There are advantages to the Hare Checklist, specifically identification of the checklist as one of the
most reliable tests at detecting psychopathy, if used by trained, professional personnel (Hare, 1990).
The checklist is extensive in the identification of psychopathy, containing a 20 items long list as well
as an interview and a review of past records and behaviors (Hare, 1990). The benefits of the checklist
include determining the most effective care for an individual diagnosed as a psychopath, and
responsibility for identifying possible psychopaths in prisons and other institutions who may become
repeat offenders of violent crime (Hare, 1990). The checklist is able to predict, in some cases, the
probability of another violent behavior occurring (Hare, 1990). ... Show more content on

twelve years based off of a misdiagnosis of psychopathy identified by characteristics and behaviors he
apparently exhibited on the Hare Checklist (Ronson, 2011). The psychiatrist that oversaw him was
able to twist every action Tony made or every word he spoke into a further indication of his
psychopathy (Ronson, 2011). Tony did not want to spend time around the other patients, which was
construed as grandiosity and lack of empathy on the checklist, to name one example (Ronson,

because while those depended more on a certain topic (Coachella, Streaming services), this one is

difficult to work on a group project about your group. In the meeting we spent a majority of the time
working on the different questions we would have to ask and how we wanted to go forward with our
project for presentation day. There was personal responsibility. Everyone had tasks assigned to them
and what would be required to get the project done. It wasn t forced, we decided on what topics we
wanted to focus on collectively. Once we knew our roles and requirements, it was easier because then
we had a partnership. There was a promised task and a commitment to the goal. Tasks would need to
be completed in order to finish the project successful and be prepared for the presentation. We spent
some time talking about our personal lives. We got a little carried away and started talking about
drunken experiences and teenage rebellion. It established trust. We were able to let loose and get to
know each other better. It helped because we got more comfortable with one another. And not to

Because we live in a modern age of much technological advancements, many students in universities
are looking to see if it is still worth buying physical textbooks or to utilize digital formats like e
textbooks as a means of efficiency or even as a way to cut costs of paying for expensive textbooks. To
understand which format is more effective, we need to study the different formats and see what are the
strengths and weaknesses found in the two different formats. This paper will examine research done
by multiple researchers and use their research to help find the format that best helps students to study
and retain material learned from their textbook
Defining E textbooks and Traditional Textbooks
E textbooks are often defined as texts that are able to be accessed on electronic devices. Most research
has defined them as texts that are digital and accessed via electronic screens (Rockinson Szapkiw,
Courdoff, Carter, Bennett, 2012), in which there two formats that exist. The first format is the page
fidelity e textbook and second is the reflowable digital e textbook. The page fidelity e textbook is a
simple scanned picture of the print version of a book, which can usually come in the form of a PDF
(Rockinson Szapkiw, Courdoff, Carter, Bennett, 2012). The page fidelity e textbook has no

NCIS Season 12

the new season. I will start this article with a brief recap of the main events of last season, then do a

Recap of season 12
The first half of season 12 saw the team being hunted by Russian mercenary Sergei Mishnev. He first

The most common form of terrorism used by the paramilitaries groups was bombings, which in the
case of Irish Republican Army (IRA) was a respond to the presence of the British and British actions

was because the extremist nationalists did not what the presence of the British Army in Northern

create a climate of fear over a long period of time especially in places such as London that would not

Ehrenreich puts it this way, The world may be flat, as New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman
has written, but I always liked to think that I was standing on a bit of a hill (608). The truth about
outsourcing flies over the heads of many Americans, but hits Ehrenreich right in the face. She writes
this article because it s a journalist s job is to take in new information that may be hard to understand
or meant to be kept on the down low and convey it in a way that s appealing to many. She implicitly
blames CEOs and other high class positions for some of the more outrageous and negative outsourcing
situations. Zakaria directly addresses this problem stating: There is a growing gap between America s
worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class, on the other hand, and the majority of the American
people, on the other (622). America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class are the ones that
understand and control outsourcing, while the rest of Americans stay uninformed and are the real
victims of outsourcing. Zakaria describes the rise of the rest as the third major tectonic power shift.
His theory, which makes perfect sense, implies that these power shifts are a natural occurrence.
According to Zakaria, the third shift shouldn t hurt America and Americans shouldn t feel threatened
or worried by it. The thing that Americans should be worried about is the growing gap of power that
exists between the elite business class and the rest of Americans. Because the higher class only looks
out for themselves and only seeks profit for the firms that they control, many negative things are
happening to the lower class, the biggest being the outsourcing of their jobs. This gap in power is what
Zakaria thinks could hurt America and make it impossible to adapt to the more globalized world.
Americans need

I Am The Product Of Clark County Educational System Essay
Reflection
Introduction
Writing has never been my forte. Nevertheless, this is not to say that I could not write. Throughout the
semester with the assigned reading assignments and the given practical writing exercises I have come
to grasp a vague understanding, I had never been taught how to write essays correctly. I am the
product of Clark County Educational system. I have always struggled through my last classes and
hoped to get out of my struggles this semester. One the greatest challenges that I faced was the
distinction that existed among different types of writings that are performed within the English
language. I did not understand how the distinction between a narrative essay, report essay and an
analytical essay, argumentative essay, and reflective essay among other types of essays. I just thought
all was the same regarding content and structure.
Additionally, this semester has, however, had an influence on my writing skills and ability a great
deal. Before this class, I began my papers with plain facts. The readings and the writing conducted
throughout this semester have enabled me to understand the wrongs and the rights encompassed
within the English language. Before engaging in writing, I started by discussing my thoughts and
impressions with my peers or basically a brainstorming session. Finally, finishes up with a computer
search on the subject assigned. Furthermore, the overview and the in depth study conducted on the
topic was very helpful. I became

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome FAS Essay
Could you ever imagine feeding your infant alcohol through a bottle? This is equivalent to what
alcohol does to the fetus in the womb. This results in a tragic disease known as Fetal Alcohol
Syndrome. Alcohol can affect a human body in many different ways. Alcohol can be the highlight of a
party and make anything exciting, but also can seriously alter human life. It s quite often that we see
on the news another victim dead, or in critical condition because their signs and symptoms were loud
enough for others to notice, because a baby cannot speak for itself it isn t able to show signs of Fetal
Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) is effecting it. Most mothers would agree that they would not feed their
infant alcohol through a bottle so why do they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It isn t as common for brain damage to occur in the last trimester, but brain damage is at its highest
vulnerability rate 15 25 days into the pregnancy. Malformations common to these areas suggest that
structural damage commence early ( Caleekal 1). This information could greatly help determine on
how much of the effects a child will have of Fetal Alcohol syndrome, but there is still no safe amount
of alcohol a pregnant women should be safe to consume. Alcohol is a chemical that is toxic to the
developing of the Central Nervous System(Stratton et al.2). According to The Sunday Times ,just one
glass of wine a week can make babies jump in the womb throughout a nine month pregnancy. The
Sunday Times also reported that experts believe this abnormal hyperactive behavior is the result of
alcohol slowing or retarding the formation of the central nervous system. Even before the actual child
is born it faces problems that it has no control over and these problems will continue to hinder the
child for the rest of its life. There is no known cure for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, no medication to
control the side effects, the cure may seem simple and it is do not drink if you believe or suspect that
you may become pregnant. Unfortunately, the simple cure still does not work. However, there are
some ways to prevent Fetal Alcohol Syndrome from claiming another victim. A woman who
consumes alcohol

Unemployee Drug Testing
Privacy like eating and breathing is one of life s basic requirements , and drug testing in the workplace
does not respect that. It is an infringement of an individual s right to privacy. Several strong arguments
vouch for that. Essentially it is not the employer s task to prevent people from illegal actions in their
free time.
First of all it is the government s task to sanction illegal actions, not the employer s. Many people state
that to treat all employees equally, one should have the same objective tests for both alcohol and
drugs. This argument doesn t make sense since it is not done anyway that an employer acts like a
public authority.
Secondly arguing that an employer is entitled to test employees, since he pays their salary, does not
make sense, for a drug test does not show the actual state of a person. If someone has been smoking
weed two weeks before a drug test, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Innocent, good working people could get fired for no reason.
Furthermore it is said that employees using drugs have double the rate of absenteeism, higher job
turnover rates, and cost more as to medical benefits. That is possible, but correlation doesn t imply
causation. A lot of people using drugs often are in a difficult social situation. They will not simply
escape by exposing their privacy in drug tests.
At last: where does this end? Will employers become able to fire people for speeding? This evolution
will lead to an unfair system. Labour agreements will start to content so many prohibitions employees
will be fired for anything.
Finally, although the problem is complex, we should be aware that drug testing is an infringement of
the basic right to privacy. Courts should continue to protect it. Drug tests are not accurate enough and
companies are not public authorities. Our lives besides work are personal, and would not be personal
if we shared

Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th
Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one
of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in
between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he
formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s
presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is
about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the
beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter;
examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live.
This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the
importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his
audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I
m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why
I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of
his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z. It is also important to note that the lines above
are being told from the point of view of Carter

Usa Compare And Contrast
As a child, I had always dreamed of traveling around the world and viewing its breathtaking creations.
Through the years I still have this sudden niche for traveling and experiencing new and exciting
things. From Costa Rica to much of the United States I have ventured upon a lot of traveling. Through
the sale of my parents family business I received the opportunity to travel west and help the new
owners grow. After traveling through many of the western states I finally realized how different not
only the terrain was, but culture as well. The state of Utah has many differences from my home state
of Minnesota. Starting from basic terrain Utah is full of endless hills and valleys ranging from
thousands of feet above and below sea level. The four wheeler trails are also abundant and never
ending. A friend and I rented a side by side for a day and drove for hours exploring the wilderness of
Utah. The state run trails are not only for four wheelers, but for hiking as well. Bryce Canyon, the red
rock capital of Utah is definitely a sight to see. I myself was not able to hike the trails of Bryce
Canyon, but if I was given the opportunity I surely would. Towards the entrance of the park the road
cuts through an arch of red rock. This pristine piece of natural art is a cherished tourist attraction
within the state of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, people can go skiing, snowboarding and tubing in both states. There are many ski resorts
and locations to help enjoy the snowy winter months. As well as Minnesota hunting is enjoyed by
many Utah citizens. I have never gotten the opportunity to go hunting in Utah, but I surely will try in
the near future. Another similarity are the state s capital cities, Salt Lake City and St. Paul, they both
have the state s main airports and many other important structures. Both states have many fun
activities to do and landmarks to see that are truly

Future Research Advisor
― How to approach a potential graduate advisor in history programs
This guide is especially tailored for North American students interested in contacting potential M.A.
or Ph.D advisors in history programs. *Other students in related fields may also find this useful.
BEFORE WRITING THE EMAIL
Research your potential advisor. Most history departments in North America and Europe have
websites as part of university portals. Take advantage of this as a way to research potential advisors.
Departmental websites usually list crucial information about Professors (such as what you would
found on their curriculum vitae) and normally provide their email contact information.
Make sure you have taken the time to select the right advisor. While undergraduate studies offer
students ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many students choose to do their graduate studies in different institutions from those where they
completed their undergraduate work. It may be that as you are emailing a potential advisor, you are,
for the very first time, making contact with them. First impressions, even if virtual, count.
Be succinct. aside from teaching classes, grading papers (yes, Professors grade too), preparing
conference papers, writing journal articles, reviewing books, keeping track of the historiography in
their field and so on, Professors also have to advise graduate students (often both at the MA and PhD
levels). Hence, Professors are very busy. If you are going to email them, do not waste their time and
yours. Be curtitious but also be precise in your intentions.
Show your potential advisor that you are a serious candidate. Aside from sounding professional in
your email and being straight to the point you should also show your seriousness as a potential
candidate by showing that you understand what graduate work represents and that you are ready for
the task. You can achieve that by briefly mentioning past academic work experience and how this
prepare you for graduate

  • 3. Cultural Differences Between Modern Day North And South Toronto to Texas the Journey Changes occur in every region of the world; every minute, every second. Most people generally do not approve of changes. It causes fear, mistrust, isolation, and even pain. In my youth, I liked changes. Changes were something to look forward to, it s fun to meet new people and an enjoyable way to see new places. It was useful to learn new skills and live experiences. So at the age of fifteen, my mother told me we were headed for America. No attention was given to these words, because I was a teenager who thought that the state of Texas would be quite similar to Toronto, but never did I imagine that this will completely change my perception of change. These changes have led me to understand the different culture between the north and south, not to believe in stereotypes, and made me adaptable. I can t even begin to explain the massive cultural differences between modern day North and South. Most people assume only climate and slang are the major difference in the two, however they could not be more wrong. Especially between Toronto and Wichita Falls, Texas. It may sound obvious but there is geographical difference. For one in the North we have more clear and fast rivers, and we almost always have a bay. While in the south, the soil is agriculturally more fertile, so in essence we see more farms and large areas of land. Also there is a huge population difference between Wichita Falls and Toronto, which is easily amongst the biggest and most ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is exactly how the French film theorist first described these film makers during the French New Wave of the 1950 s. They saw, that much like a writer, an auteur controlled may aspects of the film and they gave it just as much character as its screenplay did. Well known auteurs include Tim Burton, for his re use of Johnny Depp and ghoulish themes as well as Alfred Hitchcock, coined the master of suspense for his array of plot twists within his films. This video essay will cover another great auteur, Wes Craven, whose work on films such as The Hills have Eyes (1977) , Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) and The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988) , is a legacy in the horror genre today. Since Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) are underpaid, it is very hard for fathers to be able to take a long absence from work and not be paid for the time off. 86 percent of men said they would not take a paid leave unless they made at least 70 percent of their current salary (Ramnarace,). There are 79 countries that have laws that require companies to offer paternity leave for fathers. There are 29 countries in Africa, 7 in Asia, 5 in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, 12 in Lain America, 2 in the Middle East, and 24 in the Developed Economies (Ramnarace,). The United States is still behind by only having 4 states that have adopted the new laws allowing fathers a leave of absence from work with some sort of pay. While the current family leave law allows for 12 work weeks of unpaid, job protected leave in a 12 month period, I believe the law should be expanded worldwide to allow paid leave for all fathers without using their accumulated paid leave credits (Parental). • 11. Syntax And Diction In My Papa s Waltz By Theodore Roethke The controversial poem, My Papa s Waltz by Theodore Roethke has spurred passionate academic debate from professors, scholars, and students alike; the imagery, syntax, and diction of the poem clearly support the interpretation that Roethke writes My Papa s Waltz to reminisce on a bittersweet memory with his father. His unclear commemoration has sparked a divide on what the true purpose of the poem is. Some may argue the poem s purpose is to shine light on the subject of abuse, whereas others believe the father and son were sharing a moment while roughly playing. However, the more one examines this piece of literature, it becomes undeniable that the poem portrays a scene of a toxic father son relationship. Although there are a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main form of syntax that Roethke uses is rhyme scheme. My Papa s Waltz contains a simple ABAB rhyme scheme, in which many slant rhymes are used; further, this makes the poem sound similar to the way a song would. Notably, waltzes are guided dances... just as the father in My Papa s Waltz, guided his son through life. Yet, it is also important to note that waltzes are meant to be simple, swift, and loving. Although waltzes are described as these things, Roethke s childhood is described as a waltz gone wrong. He makes it obvious he faces abuse and the effects of alcoholism in his early life. As stated, the rhyme scheme used by Roethke helps develop the true main idea of this poem by shaping it as it were a song, more specifically a waltz. If the poem, My Papa s Waltz, was a song, it would be a pessimistic and depressing one. Clearly, Roethke s unfortunate experiences portrayed by using syntax make us one step closer to discovery the real purpose of the poem. In short, the syntax of this story shapes its meaning through rhyme scheme. Diction is arguably the most important literary device carried throughout the duration of this poem. Many readers were disoriented by the use of Roethke s word choice, yet it is arguably the most indisputable piece of evidence used to portray the background of abuse in the author s poem. Roethke uses words that carry negative connotations such as: beat, battered, death, and more. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the Articles of Confederation could have been more effective than they were. Effective does not necessarily mean that the government was strong. The larger states on the other hand felt that they were underrepresented. They were hoping for more equality in size (document E). Eventually, Maryland changed their minds about ratifying the constitution because they ceded the land. Since the government could not tax, they were in major financial trouble. They began to print continentals which were not backed by any commodities so they were worthless. The rest of the world meanwhile was waiting to see how Britain would react; so they were afraid to get too friendly with the colonists. The colonists though, knew that it was time to build up trade and trust with other countries. Eventually, their financial plans fell through, so France and the Netherlands made loans and were able to help keep the United States afloat. • 13. Governing The Commons Summary When the subject comes to the use of the natural resources in the public space in the world, where scarcity prevails, Elinor Ostrom, the author of the book Governing the Commons (1990), argues that nor a totally centralized control of the common pool resources is a solution, nor a full accessibility to everyone is a way to go either. Based on the paradox, that even though individuals are rational, by acting rationally they will likely contribute to collectively irrational outcomes , Ostrom critiques the three approaches that have been applied (at least in the theory) to resolve the distribution of the common pool resources. The first approach is known as The tragedy of the commons, which presumes that every (common pool) user has a good nature and does not cheat. This approach results in the degradation of the environment as many individuals use a scarce resource in common. (p16) The second approach is Prisoner s Dilemma, in which an actor makes a rational choice based on cost benefit analysis. This approach implies two strategies: cooperate or defect . Cooperate strategy would mean that the participant cooperates and shares the common pool resource equally, whereas defect strategy , a strategy that more likely would be chosen due to lack of communication between the parties, implies that the participant uses/extracts as much resource as he can sell for profit (p.18) The third is the Collective Action approach, which suggests that proportionally to the size of the group, there is a necessity that someone (external) comes in and regulates it. ... The Incidence Of Alzheimer s Disease Essay Etiology The incidence of Alzheimer s disease is 36 million people worldwide as of 2010, making it the most common cause of senile dementia. 1This number is expected to nearly double, to 65.7 million by 2030.1AD is accompanied by pathological features consistent with brain atrophy and neural cell death. 1The inflammatory response of the brain, that is commonly found in AD, is linked to several factors. 1Amyloid B, inflammatory cytokines, and sphingolipids are some of the known factors associated with AD. 1Uncontrolled inflammation, from ongoing or chronic complement activation is theorized to impact Alzheimer s disease, among other diseases. 2 Recent GWAS shows strong evidence that complement receptor CR1 is linked to the development of AD, although the mechanistic basis for the CR1 risk remains largely unknown.2 Pathogenesis Emerging evidence demonstrates neuroinflammation as a crucial pathophysiology of AD, specifically impacted by microglia and astroglia. 3 The microglia are distributed evenly across the brain and are activated by protein aggregation and neuronal cell death. 3 Specifically related to AD, the two chief proteins involved are amyloid B and tau.3 An accumulation of microglia around amyloid B plaques has been documented in post mortem human brains and in animal models with AD.3 Research has yet to clearly determine if microglial activation plays a beneficial or detrimental role in the progression of AD..3 Some reports suggest that microglia are attracted to ... The Discovery Of Crude Oil And Oil Prices Introduction Agricultural production which used to be the mainstay of Nigerian economy has been declined as results of crude oil discovery and subsequent increase in production and exportation of crude oil (Edo (2013). The discovery of crude oil and appreciation of oil price in the World market some years ago leads Nigerian government to abandon all other means of revenue generations including agriculture, just to depend solely on crude oil revenue to finance most of her budgets. However, crude oil exports are no longer sustaining the economy due to current downturn in crude oil price. For instance, the Nigerian government generated lots of revenues from crude oil exports but majority of her populations are still under the poverty line (Shaxson, 2005). Therefore, there is need to source revenue generations through other means. Among those means of revenue generation is through increase in agriculture production and exportation. But the sector needs massive overhaul and developments in order to yield fruitful results. Developments of agricultural sector will require serious investments in the sector, which is done properly, will improve export revenues in country through an increase in agriculture output and exportation. This therefore calls for an urgent need to assist farmers with capitals, improved and hybrid crops and livestock, and subsidize agricultural inputs which in effect will increase agricultural yields (Jerven, 2014). This is quite ironic, because Sam believes her life is messed up due to an early baby. However, although an accident, Sam is planning on having a child with Alicia at the age of 16 as well. Hornby uses these parallels to create a comic image in his readers mind. Alicia s parents play a strong role in Sam s life. Hornby uses them as the stereotypical strict parents. Andrea, a counsellor becomes very upset about the pregnancy. Robert Burns, a college professor is furious about the pregnancy. This puts extra pressure on Sam and his struggles. • 21. Effects Of Smoking On Children And Children ntroduction For many years, second hand smoke has been affecting the lungs of many people. While most of these people can get away from it, one significant population does not always have that option. Innocent children and infants are most affected by second hand smoke. Unfortunately, these adolescents do not know that it is causing major health effects to their underdeveloped bodies. Children and infants involuntary inhale smoke in their homes and on the streets where they live. Laws regarding smoking in restaurants, on playgrounds, and on school properties have majorly decreased the risks. However, it is not limited to those areas. There are more ways to decrease it. Interventions that reduce second hand smoke in homes where children live and reduce smoking before, during and after birth will decrease an infant s exposure. Providing counseling, follow up techniques, and education to parents, or primary caretakers who smoke are two ways that can help them quit and realize the harmful effects that smoking actually has on their children. Focusing on the individual who is harmed in these situations is not always the answer. One must focus on the one who is causing the effects because second hand smoke is not something that children can avoid themselves. Intervention Strategy 1: Reduction in second hand smoke in the home Children spend most of their time in their homes. If parents, older siblings or the primary caretakers smoke in the house it increases the chance of them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Security department of any company can be seen as the department that says no because they are the ones who usually put the axe down on ideas. As stated in the article about Dunkin Brands, Security departments have long been thought of as a place where ideas go to die, This idea has been planted well into the minds of workers in every division of almost any business. Security departments go by the book, sometimes can lack innovation, and tend to do things in order to maintain protection for the business vs building the business. Put plainly, the material and in class instruction of the class is revelatory in every sense of the term, and, overall, the organization and matter of the course was exceptional. In terms of the organization of the course as a whole, I believe that the English Department was able to successfully distill all of the dominant aspects of learning that an English class epitomizes into the relatively short period of time that school is in session. In my experience, I have found the class to be organized and structured competently. The schedule, curriculum, and writing assignments were easy to understand and I felt as though I exited the classroom every class feeling as if I accomplished what I had to for that day and I had a definite grip on what to expect for the next class. That being said, I think it is also imperative for me to mention that the course was not overly constricting or overly structured either the schedule had enough malleability to accommodate for impromptu activities. For instance, when Bob Levy, an acclaimed journalist for the Washington Post, visited Taft, our class used our period to have a invigorating conversation with him about the future of Internet Privacy, a conversation that I think was instructive and, in all likelihood, prepared me for the AP Exam just as much as the traditional class that we ... The dispute between the Federalist and Antifederalist lead to, what is known today, as a breakthrough of famous Federalist Papers that lead to the greater understanding of the Constitution. The Federalist Papers appeared as persuasive writings developed by what we know today as historical figures that make up the founding fathers of the ratification of the Constitution. The writings of the Federalist argued that they held the privilege to secure the government to favor the economy. The Federalist wrote to convince the public in the newspapers that their views and actions would create a perfect balance and protect the Nation s people. On the other hand, Anti Federalist opposed ratification of the Constitution in favor of the federalist ideas. The Antifederalist persuaded that the Federalist would favor slavery, and people s rights would be in danger. The two groups feuding created an important factor in the U.S. Constitution. The late nineteenth century is best known for its exceptional growth in extensive business. Across the nation, little organizations were being supplanted by titan partnerships and mechanical combinations, prompting another, uncommon level of riches for the business visionaries who created them. With the increment in enormous business came another level of riches that had never been seen. They likewise mercilessly separated unions and strikes and, to guarantee that their power would not be taken from them, they paid off city, state, and national government officials to stay great to huge organizations. The late nineteenth century prompted more political corruption and oppression that the United States had ever found in the work environment, which is the reason these specialists were truth be told robber barons, not the chiefs of industry they wished to depict themselves as. Howard Zinn argues that 19th century entrepreneurs were robber barons because new industrialist for example Andrew Carnegie, John D. Rockefeller, and J.P. I feel that as a generation we are not uncomfortable when we are the only one who is a different race in a situation. While I was brainstorming where I was going to go for this project, I was conflicted. I did not understand why being a minority somewhere would make someone uncomfortable. In today s world, there are examples of all races at the top and at the bottom. That even though there are racial issues still, the protestors are filled with diversity. As a generation, we are ones to come together through our views and opinions, rather than our race or ethnic background. Beforehand, if it was split, it was because of racism. But now that there are examples for everyone, it is based on our beliefs. According to William Frey, racial diversity will be the most defining and impactful characteristic of the millennial generation (Frey, 2016). Frey mentions that millennials have the ability to assimilate, advocate and accept different races and make the transition to a more racially diverse nation more successful (Frey, 2016). Tatishe Nteta conducted a discussion where she analyzes the racial attitudes from adolescents in the 21st century compared to the racial attitudes from older generations. The benefits of the checklist include determining the most effective care for an individual diagnosed as a psychopath, and responsibility for identifying possible psychopaths in prisons and other institutions who may become repeat offenders of violent crime (Hare, 1990). • 40. Barbara Ehrenreich s Your Local News-Dateline Delhi International relations is a topic that is constantly changing and can be very fragile. In the article, Your Local News Dateline Delhi Barbara Ehrenreich, a respected journalist, shares her personal insights into the outsourcing of American jobs to foreign lands. Ehrenreich s cynical attitude, use of dry humor, and rhetorical questions makes this daunting subject easier to take in. Fareed Zakaria, a well known author, explains the globalized world and where outsourcing fits, in an excerpt from his book, The Post American World. Zakaria looks back in history to show the reader how the world came to this globalizing moment , then he hypothesizes the future of the global economy by piecing together all of the elements. Ehrenreich shows ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Everybody has their own worries and opinions, so they choose to care about different things. Barbara Ehrenreich puts it this way, The world may be flat, as New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman has written, but I always liked to think that I was standing on a bit of a hill (608). The truth about outsourcing flies over the heads of many Americans, but hits Ehrenreich right in the face. She writes this article because it s a journalist s job is to take in new information that may be hard to understand or meant to be kept on the down low and convey it in a way that s appealing to many. She implicitly blames CEOs and other high class positions for some of the more outrageous and negative outsourcing situations. Zakaria directly addresses this problem stating: There is a growing gap between America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class, on the other hand, and the majority of the American people, on the other (622). America s worldly business elite and cosmopolitan class are the ones that understand and control outsourcing, while the rest of Americans stay uninformed and are the real victims of outsourcing. Zakaria describes the rise of the rest as the third major tectonic power shift. His theory, which makes perfect sense, implies that these power shifts are a natural occurrence. According to Zakaria, the third shift shouldn t hurt America and Americans shouldn t feel threatened or worried by it. The thing that Americans should be worried about is the growing gap of power that exists between the elite business class and the rest of Americans. Because the higher class only looks out for themselves and only seeks profit for the firms that they control, many negative things are happening to the lower class, the biggest being the outsourcing of their jobs. This gap in power is what Zakaria thinks could hurt America and make it impossible to adapt to the more globalized world. Americans need ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. Unemployee Drug Testing Privacy like eating and breathing is one of life s basic requirements , and drug testing in the workplace does not respect that. It is an infringement of an individual s right to privacy. Several strong arguments vouch for that. Essentially it is not the employer s task to prevent people from illegal actions in their free time. First of all it is the government s task to sanction illegal actions, not the employer s. Many people state that to treat all employees equally, one should have the same objective tests for both alcohol and drugs. This argument doesn t make sense since it is not done anyway that an employer acts like a public authority. Secondly arguing that an employer is entitled to test employees, since he pays their salary, does not make sense, for a drug test does not show the actual state of a person. If someone has been smoking weed two weeks before a drug test, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Innocent, good working people could get fired for no reason. Furthermore it is said that employees using drugs have double the rate of absenteeism, higher job turnover rates, and cost more as to medical benefits. That is possible, but correlation doesn t imply causation. A lot of people using drugs often are in a difficult social situation. They will not simply escape by exposing their privacy in drug tests. At last: where does this end? Will employers become able to fire people for speeding? This evolution will lead to an unfair system. Labour agreements will start to content so many prohibitions employees will be fired for anything. Finally, although the problem is complex, we should be aware that drug testing is an infringement of the basic right to privacy. Courts should continue to protect it. • 45. Analysis Of Jay Z s August 4th Jay Z s December 4th was the first song on his Black Album, which was released in 2003, during one of the many peaks in the rapper s career. The song includes his mother talking about his childhood in between verses and is a very autobiographical song in the sense that he talks about his life up until he formed the persona that is Jay Z. Although December 4th is thought to have been about the rappers s presumed retirement, the song does not allude to an end to his rap career, instead, the December 4th is about the artist s transition from Shawn Carter to Jay Z. He tells the story, not of the end, but of the beginning of Jay Z and he does this by separating himself from his former self, Shawn Carter; examining the importance that Carter played in the story of how Jay Z was born and continues to live. This song is very indicative of a speaker who is narrating and advising his former self and showing the importance of accepting and how one came to be. The song begins almost as a confessional, telling his audience about the decisions and choices he made leading up to the creation of Jay Z . When he says, I m leaving after this song/ So you ain t gotta feel no way about Jay so long/ At least let me tell you why I m this way, the rapper is letting his audience know that this song is about his life and the aspects of his upbringing that lead him to his present life as Jay Z. It is also important to note that the lines above are being told from the point of view of Carter ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through the years I still have this sudden niche for traveling and experiencing new and exciting things. From Costa Rica to much of the United States I have ventured upon a lot of traveling. Through the sale of my parents family business I received the opportunity to travel west and help the new owners grow. After traveling through many of the western states I finally realized how different not only the terrain was, but culture as well. The state of Utah has many differences from my home state of Minnesota. Starting from basic terrain Utah is full of endless hills and valleys ranging from thousands of feet above and below sea level. The four wheeler trails are also abundant and never ending. A friend and I rented a side by side for a day and drove for hours exploring the wilderness of Utah. The state run trails are not only for four wheelers, but for hiking as well. Bryce Canyon, the red rock capital of Utah is definitely a sight to see.
