She s the Man is a modern adaptation and interpretation of The Twelfth Night but the movie varies
greatly from the original play. The frivolous tone of this adaptation fails to epitomize the historical
setting, depth of characters, and poetic magnificence of this comedic play. In She s The Man the plot
revolves around Viola, and her struggle to be recognized as a professional soccer player. When the
girls team at her school is cancelled, she decides to disguise herself as her twin brother Sebastian (who
coincidentally leaves for London to pursue his passion in music) in order to join the boys soccer team
at his boarding school. However she is instantly captivated by her new roommate Duke Orsino, and he
asks her to divulge his fervent and vehement love for their classmate Olivia. The movie essentially
modernizes the play in order to remove the boring stigma associated with Shakespeare s plays but
with some futile additions that distort or are gross misrepresentations of the original play.

Joe doesn t have many bad qualities in him the only times the audience do see such qualities is when
he speaks ill of Steve to others like when he says, I owe him a good kick in the teeth (Act 2, p47).
However, the audience knows he does not really mean these things but only says them to cover up his
fatal mistake. So we forgive Joe his mistake because as Plutarch, the Delphic priest, said almost 2000
years ago, to make no mistakes is not in the power of man and also because Joe tries to rectify his
mistake by offering to give Steve a good job when he gets out of prison and offering to help Steve s
children.
Joe has spent his life making many decisions most of which appear to have been good decisions
resulting in his family enjoying a comfortable life. The audience admires him for this. Unfortunately,
late one night Joe made a hurried decision, which he believed he could get away with. The reasons for
his decision comes to light near the end of the play, in Act 2, when he tells Chris why he made that
decision, I m a business man, a man is in business; a hundred and twenty cracked, you re out of
business, you got a process, the process don t work you re out of business; you don t know how to

What was the artist work about? Maya Lin is an architect and designer. Her work is very natural and
simplistic, her designs are very simple but the content of her pieces of work are very deep. She is
recognized for her landscape art. She expresses her work through objects she makes. This objects or
architectural works she has done are all made so people all feel connected in the same way. The
Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington Dc, are two black granite walls which are together linked

What I really like about her is for example in this two memorials she develops this architectural
structures which are so simple but have a great amount of meaning such as the rounded table, while
you go around the table you come to understand why equality is so important and the importance of
this movement. For example in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, there are two black granite walls, but
the significance of it is that she wrote in a chronological order the people who died in this war; you as
a watcher you get touched and sad because many innocent people were dying because a political
decision that was taken place by a series of events done by the government. I enjoyed watching this
video, because I was never interested in architectural sculptures and memorials, and at the end of the
video I fond it very interesting. She makes these well developed sculptures that are incredible to notify
the amount of detail they have producing a great focal point and balance in each of her pieces. She
makes her artwork very satisfying to watch and being a part of it; because you do not see this dramatic
impact or something out of the regular you see something regular an object. An object that inspires
you peace you can connect to her pieces of art, because just by touching it or looking at it you

pop culture provide the allure of a celebrity who doesn t always (if at all) feel the need to tell what
