Marine Air-Ground Task Force
The United States Marine Corps has an illustrious history forged in the trials of combat. Throughout
its history, irregular warfare has and will continue to pose challenges for Marines facing new and
radical enemy forces. The rapid, opportunistic, and flexible capabilities of maneuver warfare enables
Marines to combat ambiguous enemies whose warfighting capability and doctrine is based on
irregular warfare principles. Marine Corps units are organized and equipped to facilitate rapid
deployment and to maximize the potential of each asset available to the Marine Air Ground Task
Force Commanders. As we wage war against our nation s foes, the elements of the Marine Air Ground
Task Force are prepared to provide mutually supporting roles for the ... Show more content on

During this type of warfare, the enemy may have already infiltrated, destroyed, or damaged a foreign
nation s government, essential services or infrastructure vital to the indigenous populace for survival
and governance. Aviation elements accomplish the transport and swift insertion of personnel, supplies,
and materials to assist our forces and to help maintain or rebuild infrastructure. These activities
achieve the overarching effects of building trust and confidence within the local populace to foster
support for our efforts. Additionally, air assets bring tremendous combat power to the irregular warfare
fight. An assortment of ordnance i.e.; precision guided munitions, rapid insertion and extraction
methods, and troop and equipment transport enable our forces to quickly strike, maneuver and gain the
advantage in an irregular warfare engagement. The Aviation Combat Element also allows both the
Ground and Logistic Combat elements to rapidly deploy anywhere in the world. More specifically the
Marine Expeditionary Unit provides a mobile sea based warfighting unit capable of deploying on
short notice. The Aviation Combat Element has the ability to move those combat forces from ship to
shore with an over horizon capability. The ability to quickly move forces around the battlespace
provides opportunities for United States forces to influence the population by conducting meetings
with local leaders and proving our commitment to the people of the affected country. This capability
not only enhances but solidifies the Marine Corps ability to utilize maneuver warfare principles while
engaging in an irregular

The Importance Of Long Distance Communication
Something else that was important with communication that was mentioned in most of the studies,
was openness, openness was positively correlated with relational satisfaction says Maguire and
Kinney (2010:41). To ensure a strong foundation, strong communication is important and can lead to a
healthy and successful relationship. Communicating not only issues but good things about the
relationship itself. For example relational savoring may be an effective tool for preventing declines in
relationship satisfaction , says Borelli (2015:1103 ) In this study, couples who were able to savor their
relationship had a higher satisfaction rating than those who did not. Talking about all things can only
lead to strengthening a long distance relationship and that is why is is an important part of a successful
long distance relationship.
Next in a study by Borelli (2015), some conclusions were found in the study that contributed to
successful long distance relationships. First, physical separations can lead to low security in a long
distance relationship, so being sure that each partner feels loved and secure in the relationship. This
feeling of security can protect the quality of their relationship from the stresses inherent to LDRs (long
distance relationships) , says Borelli (2015: 1085) . Next, couples who had higher satisfaction in the
partnership were more comfortable to share and focus on feelings with each other. Lastly, ensuring the
relationship satisfaction is secure and

Communication Theories by Werner Joseph Severin Essay
Werner Joseph Severin explored communication theories on a wide range through this book, and as
our lives are based entirely on communication persuasion is used daily in different forms, based on
different theories, aiming at changing our attitudes and directing them towards the desired outcome,
therefore chapter 8 theories of persuasion focused on persuasion. As being exposed to new
information every day and changing our attitudes accordingly persuasion has reached its goal, for
example, if you like something and new information you have been exposed to changed your attitude
towards it, then this is a successful persuasion communication. Persuasion can affect our beliefs as
will, as what you believe to be true can be altered by a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The research involved a number of variables that are manipulated very carefully to note there effects.
Additionally, according to Hovland attitudes are learned and are changed through the same process of
learning.
The experimental section of the research branch of the war department s information and education
division evaluated studies of films already existing, and had experimental studies where two versions
of the same film were compared, the second type of research set the way for the rest of the attitude
change research. The first task that this section took upon as evaluating the first four films of a series
of films called why we fight , which was designed to motivate American soldiers to fight in the war.
This research became part of the evidence suggesting that strong held attitudes are less likely to
change because of one mass communication message. On the top of that researchers began then to
examine attitude change due to the cognitive process, which means that receivers of the message
actively think about the message and change their attitude. But more recent theories reveal that a
number of variables working together at the same time results in attitude change. furthermore, to
change attitudes there are specific techniques to follow, the first technique is the one sided and two
sided messages, which is basically either presenting one side of the message

The Future Of Zoos During The World Of Activists Attacks
The Future of Zoos In the Midst of Activists Attacks
In an increasingly threatening environmental crisis, zoos are participating in the conservation of
species. The biodiversity of the animal and plant worlds is being deeply affected, on the one hand by
the disruption of ecosystems caused mainly by climate change and deforestation, and on the other
hand, by the globalization of trade, travel, transport, and tourism. These two factors are increasingly
reducing animals habitats and endangering many species (Keulartz 336). Even in the face of the
environmental serial destruction, animal protectionist and wildlife conservationist activists criticize
zoo s efforts to protect the animals they house. The ways zoos progresses in the future to ... Show

The Doctor Chris Parsons, former Director of the Society for Conservation Biology, explains animal
welfare groups accept the use of animals for some human interests like clothing, food, recreational
need, or scientific experiments, as long as the animal is free of stress and pain . The influential groups,
the Humane Society and the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, recognize on
their website some zoos are beneficial to animals supporting conservation programs, participating in
the preservation and restoration of endangered species, and promoting education about the importance
of wildlife. However, this statement holds under certain conditions. First, the Humane Society
recommends zoos to be organized around a core mission that educates the public about the needs of
the animals and the threats they face . Also, zoos should provide animals with humane care and
adapted to their physical, social and psychological needs. Finally, ASPCA indicates, zoos should
participate in tightly controlled breeding programs and their display should stress the themes of
endangered species, wild habitat destruction and reduced biodiversity . Unfortunately, many zoos are
not falling under this description, but they can act on several factors in the intent to work towards the
animal welfare activists demands.

Vanilla Stocks and Bonds
Phase 5 IP Vanilla Stocks and Bonds
Part 1 Bonds
It has been established that it is crucial to be able to properly value a bond for finance. Two companies
have been chosen to represent this action for this document Apple Inc. as well as IBM which are both
in the technology sector and have long term debt, have bonds and also stocks available for sale. We
are going to determine the length until maturity, the yield to maturity and then also the price of the
bond today. While keeping this information in mind we can determine what time value of money

Apple currently has 16,958 million dollars of long term debt according to the U.S. Security and
Exchange Commission (2013).
Next we have International Business Machines (IBM) which is one of the largest computer
manufacturers in the world developing mainframes personal and business computers and helped to
ignite the computer revolution. Again using Morningstar (2013) it was discovered that IBM had a 3
stars and a rating of AA . According to the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (2013) IBM has a
long term debt of $26,292 million. Morningstar revealed that their debt ratio is 65.8% which is
extremely high. The bond that was chosen to evaluate was thhe Intl Busn Machs 4.0% which also has
a maturity date of 30 years. The accrual start date is June 20, 2012 and has the first payment date of
December 20 2012 which a conclusion can be made that it has semiannual coupon frequency.
Let us look at some more information in a chart as it may be easier to understand.
So if we start to compare the separate bonds that are presented by these two powerhouse companies
we can see that they both have a maturity date of 30 years for a face value of $1,000 and the coupon
type is fixed. The coupon rate is less than the current interest rate which means a buyer may want to
pay less for that bond. However there are some differences such as the issue size of the two bonds.

An Online Business Expansion Plan for Ebay Inc
Introduction In this paper, we focus on an online business expansion plan for eBay, Inc., an online
marketplace for the sale of good and services. The company operates its core business via three
market segments; Marketplaces,GSI Commerce Inc. and Payments. The analysis and recommendation
is done with a consideration of the viability of the business and the online expansion, the current
online competitors, Online Marketing Suggestion and Strategies as well as search engine optimization
strategies. A1. Viability of the business and the online expansion The viability of eBay Inc. as a
business platform is excellent. The viability of any given business is gauged on the basis of key
performance indicators. The viability of eBay is attributed to its business model. Teece(2010) noted
that a good business model should be viable by being able to generate adequate revenue, have a high
customer acquisition as well as retention rates, have an adequate gross margin levels as well as have a
favorable operating cash cycle (Mullins,2006). eBay Inc is a viable business platform as noted by its
position as an e business market leader ( Stone,nd)..eBay Inc. has shown excellent financial results
coupled with a high customer acquisition as well as retention rates. As long as there are buyers and
sellers, eBay will always remain a viable business model. The need for online expansion of eBay
activities is largely driven by market dynamics. The rising demand for online services coupled with

High Cost Of College Education
With the growing costs of a college education, some believe that people who cannot afford college
should be able to go for free with government assistance. I believe that a program like that should not
be passed by the legislature. By doing this, money set aside in the social security fund will be
depleted. The government already helps those in need who cannot afford college tuition by providing
grants and loans. A common misconception about free college education is that it will help our country

the adults turn to open their present. However the adults do secret Santa and after we are done with all

The Similarities Of Jack Ma And Indra Nooyi
Jack Ma and Indra Nooyi share very common similarities regarding their leadership stories which
appear to be strong catalysts in shaping their leadership purpose. They both came from rather simple
beginnings, Indra was raised by a strict conservative Brahmin family in Southern India and Jack was
repeatedly rejected for his plans of starting an internet company in America. Not deterred by that
experience Jack then returned to China with no money but a solid business idea. While it is clear in
watching them that these are leaders who remain quite humble about their achievements, Jack
especially is someone who happily admits he has made a lot of errors on his path to success, stating
his plans to write the book Alibaba s 1001 mistakes, that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Along with this they both have excellent cognitive and behavioural complexity spoken of by Quinn et
al, this is demonstrated not only by their successes but having a strong view towards the future of not
only their respective companies but also the sustainability of the world. Indra who states I think we re
living in a world and worrying about the level of returns rather than the sustainability of the returns
(Institute 2014) and also mentioning leaders who run the company for only their duration and leave
the next CEO to pick up the debris (Institute 2014). By putting the company ahead of her own ego this
again draws a strong correlation to the humble nature of Jack Ma and his plan of sustainability for the
people and small business owners of China. Jack appears to be someone who wishes to change China
and ultimately the world for the better, made clear by him saying I don t feel proud of how much
money I ve made, I feel proud at how much I ve been able to help small business (Business 2011), and
to have people stop him in the street commenting they opened a small store on TaoBao and they re
doing well, it s clear that doing what s best for the people resonates with Jack strongly, further
strengthened by him saying When you have 1 billion, that s not your money, that s the societies trust

Oklahoma City Bombing Research Paper
In 1995, it all started as a peaceful Wednesday morning. People were starting work or just waking up
in Oklahoma City. While all these peoples days were starting, a young male parked a yellow truck
outside of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. That day, everyone s life in that building changed
forever. The effects of the April 19,1995 bombing were more than just physical to the survivors of this
horrific event. The incident was planned a year before the bombing, in an old trailer in Kingman
Arizona between an ex military man named Timothy McVeigh, and some of his military friends
(Casey). McVeigh was just like any other boy growing up. He was into toys and sports, but he was
very into guns. When he was older, he joined the army and was the top of his squadron. After given
the opportunity to join the Green Berets but not meeting up to their standards, he left the army and
tried to become a worker. During this time, he followed his hobby for guns and joined many militias.

Microbial Induced Calcite Precipitates ( Micp )
ABSTRACT
Microbial Induced Calcite Precipitates (MICP) is a new and sustainable technology used to improve
the properties of construction materials. This technique works by introducing bacteria solution (e.g.,
Sporosarcina pasteurii, B. megaterium, Spoloactobacilus, Clostridium and Desulfotomaculum ) into
the soil matrix , and then injection of a chemical solution consisting of urea and one of calcium salts
(e.g., calcium chloride and calcium acetate ) into the soil matrix several times.
A number of factors must be considered to enable the use and control of the MICP process in field
applications, including the concentrations of bacteria solution, the concentrations of the chemical
solutions, in addition to methods to introduce the bacteria and these chemical solutions to the soil.
The main aim of this research is to provide an overview of the various factors affecting the MICP
within the soil, where the research studied the effect of bacteria, soil particle size, nutrients, chemical
solutions, pH, temperature and injection strategies on the efficiency of MICP as a method to improve
the chemical and mechanical properties of the soil.

Monopoly And Monopolistic Competitive Market
The study of Microeconomics tells us of the different market structures the economy is made of. For
the purpose of this paper, we will take an in depth look at three of these such market structures.
Monopoly and Monopolistic competitive market along with Oligopoly. We will look at how and why
these markets exist in conjunction with the advantages to the producer and the disadvantages to the
consumer. As we research Monopoly in detail, compare the monopolistic competitive market and
Oligopoly, we will also discuss the Gas market in relation to these types of markets. To begin to
understand monopolies, we have researched several things. Why do they exist? What do they do, in
response to the economy? Although, we don t see many monopolies now due to antitrust laws to
prevent monopolies from forming, there are natural monopolies. There are several reasons why
monopolies exist. These are known as barriers to entry. Scarce resources with one producer can limit
the number of other firms joining the market as competition. Increasing returns to scale prevents
smaller firms from entering an industry because as output rises average total cost falls. This in turn
enables these producers to grow and tolerate the monopoly. This is now where a natural monopoly is
formed. A single producer of an industry has a large cost advantage over other smaller firms, if they
existed in the industry. A natural monopoly includes local water, gas and electricity providers. These

Similarities Between Lord Of The Flies And The Hunger Games
District 12. Where you can starve to death in safety (6). This is a quote from the book The Hunger
Games, by Suzanne Collins, and it is a prime example of the dystopian society the book is set in.
Another book set in a dystopian society is Lord of the Flies, by William Golding. The Hunger Games
is a book about a society where every year, 24 people are sent to fight to the death in the Hunger
Games. Lord of the Flies is about a big group of young children getting trapped on an island and
having to figure out how to survive on their own without any adults. Both the novel Lord of The Flies
and the book The Hunger Games present societies that are vicious and cruel, in similar settings, even
though there are some differences between the two stories. One similarity between both books is the
use of fire. At the beginning of Lord of the Flies fire is used to try to give a signal to passing ships that
there are children trapped on the island. If a ship comes near the island they may not be able to notice
us. So we must make smoke on top of the mountain. We must make a fire (33). At the beginning of
The Hunger Games fire is used to gain the Capitol s attention during the ceremony where all tributes
ride on chariots. I want the audience to recognize you when you re in the arena, says Cinna dreamily.
Katniss, the girl who was on fire (67). In both situations, fire is used to gain attention of people who
will be able to help them in the future, whether it s giving them a gift during the Games, or rescuing
them. However, later on in the stories fire is used differently. At the end of Lord of the Flies, Jack s
group uses fire to try to burn down the forest in order to find and kill Ralph. The fire was a big one
and the drum roll that he had thought had left so far behind was nearer (182). This quote is from a part
when Ralph is hiding in the currently burning down forest, trying to escape from Jack. In The Hunger
Games, fire is used to burn down part of the arena for the Games, in order to bring Katniss closer to
the other tributes. This fire is designed to flush us out, to drive us together (173). One difference
between the two books is the idea of unique appearances. In Lord of the Flies, there is the

Women s Education During The Progressive Era Essay
Women s education in the United States made huge strides during the Progressive Era. However,
along with those strides came negative reactions from not only men but women as well. These second
generation women started moving away from their expected nurturing professions and instead started
going into male dominated professions. Some of these professions were doctors and lawyers, just to
name a few. Due to these career changes, women were required to have bachelor s degrees and
training. Because of this, women s colleges were hit with heavy backlash in the early 1900s. Many
male educators and doctors viewed the lengthening lines of candidates in the secondary schools with
alarm. They believed the women s colleges were institutions for the promotion of celibacy, producing
a disappearing class of intellectual women who were not marrying and hence were committing race ...

The Reasons Why Individuals Travel Should Be Investigate...
Tourism Essay
Introduction
Understanding Leipers model aides in characterizing on the reasons of why individuals head out to the
destinations. The model was made in 1994, as it intends to attempt and comprehend destinations,
producing zones, travel zones, nature streams inside the connection of a more extensive tourism
framework rather then seeing them as partitioned free elements . This implies that with a specific end
goal to comprehend the reasons of why individuals travel we should firstly investigate the push and
pull factors of tourists.
Leipers Model embodies itself of three different micro parts, and sub segments or sub components.
These parts incorporate:
Geographic Element:
Tourist Generating Region,
Tourist destination Region,
Transit Route Region
Human Element:

The Relationship between Science and Religion
The Relationship between Science and Religion The relationship between science and religion will be
analyzed in the following three aspects: conflict, compartmentalization and complementariness.
Conflict An essential question on our own existence is bound to evoke our curiosity: where did we
come from? Charles Darwin, in his theory of evolution, believed that human being was evolved from
apes. However, the Genesis in Bible considered that human was created by God. Undoubtedly, it is
impossible for human to have two sources. Therefore, science and religion hold absolutely contrastive
viewpoints. That s the basic standpoint of Conflict. Science is full of rationality and impersonality,
while religion is filled with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Religious faith is the foundation and motivation of scientific rationality s improvement. To some
extent, religion promoted science. There is a religious saying: God saw the light, that is was good, and
God divided the light from the darkness. This religious faith promoted people to divide light from
darkness, and it directed them towards science. Meanwhile, science reacts upon religion, stimulates
the religious development and achieves religious goals. Both of them are indispensable. Einstein said,
Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind , From my perspective, science and
religion are not in conflict or incompatible, but complementary and integral. From papermaking
technology used for the printing of the Buddhist Scriptures to the internet served as preaching religion,
both science and religion played an indispensable sole in human beings lives. To some degree, religion
can be a moral guidance for people in adversity and science enhance our living standard. Being
inseparably interconnected with each other will make our world brighter and happier. But both of
them, as a double edged sword, if applied appropriately, would benefit us; if not, they would do harm
to us. Therefore, we should adopt their strong points while overcoming the weak

breaking researches have been conducted by many observers like Emil Emmert. In1881 it was found
by Emil Emmert that an objects size afterimage seems to vary in size based on whether it is positioned
close or farther away. When near by the object looks small. And the farther away it gets, the size of the
object becomes noticeably larger. It s perceived size is thought to be fixed on the retina and as it
increases the perceived distance is also thought to increase consecutively. This ... Show more content

Ames has also restricted the viewers to only observe the room through a peekhole. He also
strategically placed the floors, ceiling and walls by slanting them which manipulated their depth
perception and size constancy. Therefore Ames Room also had an element of suprise. Meanwhile
Emmert s Law did not involved any optical illusions, therefore Emmert regarded the perceived sizes
of the objects in the after image as a reaction of the body to continue psychological function.
According to Emmert s Law the perceptual constancy was thought to happen by multiple depth
perception cues that include; binocular vision, linear perspective and monocular cue. In contrast to
Emmert s Law in Ames Room Illusion there are 2 illusions that take place. By looking through a
peeping whole with one eye, the peephole eliminates all the depth perception cues and causes the
room to appear like a regular cubic room. The other illusion is the fact that objects swtich sizes as they
swap places in the room. This leds all the distance cues to be abolished as

Definition Of Effective Leadership And Leadership
Scripture has much to say in regards to leadership and those in positions of leadership. The Bible tells
us that leaders are to lead with integrity and values that govern the heart. So he shepherded them
according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with skillful hands. (Psalm 78:72 NKJV)
Unfortunately, that is not the practice of many in leadership, often leaders operate with a public set of
values that differs from that of their private life. The definition of effective leadership has changed
from character driven leadership to results oriented leadership and is now determined by the results a
leader produces, as long as the leader is producing good results, the private life of a leader has no
bearing on the situation. (Rima, 2000) While it is true, that leaders can, for a time, engage in a quality
practice of leadership that differs from their personal life and produce positive results, eventually, the
destructive behaviors of their personal life will affect and influence their public life and may result in
failure and scandal.
The dangers of this dichotomy are leaders that are emotionally or psychologically unhealthy and the
end result is leaders that lack integrity and depth of character. The consequence of this philosophy is
failed businesses and churches, ineffective governments, broken marriages and families. This
disconnect between the public and private life has led to a major distrust and wariness of public
leaders. Rima believes that the root cause

integrate wellness into anesthesia school, and give large discounts towards massage (Chipas et al.,
2012, p. 53).
Coping Mechanisms used among SRNAs For centuries, humans have pondered diverse mechanisms
of how to effectively deal with stress. The typical clinical setting of a SRNA consistently parallels the
conditions that define a stressful environment. Dr. William Halstead, the New York surgeon accredited
with popularizing regional anesthesia in the United States, used cocaine outside of the clinical setting
as a method of coping with the rigorous stressors of his career (McDonough, 1990). The stress
resulting from the SRNA education along with the DNP program can be a major source of
psychological stress for the SRNA. According to McDonough (1990), stress is an imbalance that seeks
to be relieved (p. 195). McDonough (1990) found that personalities and addictive tendencies of
individuals caused some individuals to abuse drugs. A survey was administered to 150 students to
assess addictive personality traits. Results indicated that anesthesia students had significantly higher
scores in excitement seeking behaviors. McDonough (1990) also suggested the creation of support
system to aid students in finding effective coping skills. Findings from this study provided the
anesthesia literature with insight into substance abuse among SRNAs. SRNAs develop various coping
mechanisms to relieve stressors. Kless (1989) studied the effectiveness of social support groups in

Write An Essay On Andre s Accomplishments
Before you attack me, it is not because I don t think he is capable of making a quality album, but at
this point in his career it would have to be an indisputable classic. Can you envision the media
attention he would receive if news broke about a solo album from Andre 3000? Outside of Dr. Dre
alleged Detox album, this is probably the most demanded album in hip hop history that we ll never
receive. Andre has been vocal about not being inspired for a full length project, and hesitant because
of his view on being an older rapper. He says when he was 25, he never wanted to be rapping at the
age of 30. Now that he s in his 40 s, he feels as though he s too old in the eyes of modern hip hop fans.

Business For The Glory Of God Summary
LaKeisha Y. Jones Liberty University Business for the Glory of God Book Review
Grudem explains that God proved personal ownership by demanding that thou shall not steal (Ex.
20:15). By owning our possessions, we imitate God s sovereignty by exercising sovereignty over a
small portion of the world. By taking care of our personal belongings or improving upon them
(cleaning the pool, or adding a deck to a home) we imitate God who owns a cattle on a thousand hills
(Ps. 50:10).
When reading Business for the Glory of God definitely has a lot to offer; especially only being a book

I honestly can say that this book is a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to learn more on how to
serve God by being a professional businessman or businesswoman. The layout of Mr. Grudem s
thoughts is pointing out specific Scriptures that speak to the issues he addresses in his book. It may
seem like a surprise to most believe that some inequality of possessions can be good and very pleasing
to God. But we first must remember that there is no sin or evil in heaven, the Bible preaches that there
are certain rewards in heaven and various kinds of stewardship that God entrusts to different
individuals. We should think of all inequalities of possession as wrong and evil. In the current days
that we live in there are inequalities of gifts and abilities, and there are also evil, oppressive systems in
the world, and because of these things many of God s most righteous people will not be wealthy in
current life. For the individuals that have large resources, they also should trust in God and not his
riches.
The brief chapters are manageable for individuals who live in our fast paced society. The chapters are
full of solid material that can provoke thought and reflection. The author goes over the Ownership
aspect and describes that a business owner is a reflection of how God takes care of the universe. As a
business owner you would think that it actually belongs to you, but in reality we untimely ours. As
individuals you should share the things that you own and to learn to not be

The Americans With Disabilities Act Essay
All Americans deserve the right to receive the best medical treatment available, that includes those
with disabilities. So what is ADA? What makes it so essential? ADA may seem like just a couple
letters from the alphabet, although to a person that has a disability it means a whole lot more. ADA
stands for Americans with Disabilities Act.
The Americans with Disabilities Act is extremely vital in the medical field. Not only is it the law to
ensure that there is appropriate access to those with disabilities, on the other hand it is also medically
necessary to treat all patients. The Americans with Disabilities Act was founded in 1990 and it is
designed to protect against discrimination of those with disabilities,(Jacobs, R.B Lauber, R.H, 2011).
In the Americans with Disabilities Act, disability is defined as: (1) a physical or mental impairment
that significantly limits one or more major life activities, (2) having a record of such impairment, or
(3) being regarded as having an impairment, (Bernstein,S.K,2014). It is exceptionally crucial that all
business comply with all the rules and regulations of the Americans with Disabilities Act, if failed to
implement those rules there will be penalties to pay. The Americans with Disabilities Act, especially
applies to health facilities, be that as it may it also applies to all businesses with 15 or more
employees, (Lindh, W. 2014). The Americans with Disabilities Act protects patients or consumers with

Two Factors By Innate Intelligence

(a) What is meant by the term innate intelligence? [2]
It is a form of intelligence that is said to be derived from decadence through heredity.
(b) Describe two factors that may influence a person s level of intelligence. [4]
Diet, the intake of a proper balanced diet containing a variety of different foods is necessary for the
physical development of an individual within a society. If an individual does not develop properly,
he/she will not be able to perform at the same level as he/she could. As he/she won t be able to
perform at the same level there intelligence will be altered (usually in a negative manner). Educational
opportunities, if a person comes from a fortunate background they might have the opportunity to
pursue their education in private schools and higher education as the cost as a percentage of their total
income will be lower than that of a person from an unfortunate background.

The famous mathematician that I have chosen is John Napier and he was the creator of logarithms. I

accomplishments, theology, and his legacy. John Napier was born February 1st, 1550 and was born
into a wealthy family, so he had a head start in his education thanks to private tutors. He was an
intelligent child and went to the University of St. Andrews at the age of thirteen. There is no indication
that he graduated but it is shown that he had study abroad. He went to Europe to study in Paris and

Rhetorical Situation In Pepsi
Unlike many people in this world, as a college student I am not interested in Keeping up with The

Pepsi, is a great example of a rhetorical situation. In the Rhetorical Situation , by Lloyd Bitzer, he
expressed that all rhetorical situation has exigence, audience and constraint. This infamous family first
came to the spotlight when their older sister, Kim Kardashian, released a sex tape that went pretty
viral. Since then they have remained in the public eye. Whether it s for good publicity or bad. One of
the sisters, Kendall Jenner, has been making quite a commotion with people everywhere. In spring
2017, Pepsi released a commercial with Kendall Jenner staring in it that caused quite a controversy.
Pepsi is taking a lot of heat about this ad. Although the young star was the main focus of this
controversy, Pepsi is to blame. In the commercial we see Kendall Jenner in a middle of a photo shoot
during an unknown protest. It is unclear what the protesters are marching for but we see signs and
symbols with peace and love. We can see that Pepsi used pathos to try and get there point across. They
used music and the group of protesters working together marching in what they believe in, to appeal to
the emotional side of their audience. Jenner stops her photoshoot after a young man courage her to

The Contributions Of Science And Science
As a contemporary writer observing the timeline of modern science, and all the abridgments made to it
over the past few centuries, one cannot help but ponder upon the course that science took to reach
what it is today. We are aware of the pioneers of science such as Newton, Lavoisier, Stahl, Joule,
Maxwell, Einstein etc, and all of the groundbreaking contributions these extraordinary individuals
made to mould science into what we today know it to be. Over the course of History of Science, we
have examined the various factors influencing the life and work of various men of science, and how
the society, polity and religion of their time affected their contributions to science. We began with the
classical elegance of Newtonian Enlightenment, drifted onto the chaotic happenings of the Industrial
Revolution, glanced past the Romantic Movement and finally came upon the Einsteinian revelation.
Through the course of the 300 or so years the aforementioned periods encompassed, we have seen
scientific theories envisioned, published, critiqued, lauded and destroyed. Time is our witness as we
analyze the many edits made to the holy text of science, and keeping in mind the irony of the previous
sentence , I attempt to answer the question, Is Modern Science a result of a few abrupt revolutions, or
is it a carefully cumulative accumulation of knowledge ?

Maria Montessori was a visionary woman, passionate about providing quality education to all
children. Born in 1870, at a time where few women attended college and were not expected to work in
any area other than teaching, Maria grew up determined to become a doctor in spite of society, and
even her father s reservations. She was not accepted into the University of Rome, but with her spirit of
perseverance, Maria gained the help of Pope Leo XIII to intercede on her behalf. In 1896, she

in mind and should enable the child to exercise their senses in order for the child to be engaged in
their learning (Montessori, 1912, p. 169). Furniture in the classroom was also meant to be child sized
so that the child could fully explore their environment and make it their own (Montessori, 1912, p.

way she perceived that they were meant to. By having the opportunity to read her original work
afforded me the opportunity to understand her philosophies more clearly. I agree that her ideas have an
important place in education today and see that she tips the scale in child and teacher led activities to
be led by children in order for those activities to be more relevant to the child as well as having a
greater impact on their learning. I appreciate her use of didactic materials that are designed to be
practical and that her activities and play are focused as closely to real life and community as possible.
This allows the child to truly prepare for life beyond the classroom. In Maria s opinion on the role and
training of her teachers, while I understand her desire to start teachers

Evaluation Of A Use Case Analysis
6.0 USE CASE ANALYSIS
The Use Case analysis is a method which focuses highly on the systems functional Requirements and
when completed will consist of a Use Case Model. The model consists of actors, Use cases, use case
scenarios and other criteria which helps represents the use case. Within a use case Model there are
many relationships (generalization, include and extends) which help represent the flow and
functionality of the system and its entity s.
A Use case describes the behaviour of a process within a system and usually has relationships with
actors (external sources who interact with system). A Use Case scenario is identifying the specific
executions carried out during a Use Case and these help create and gather requirements.

They feel their story is not just for an industry audience, but for everyone; government officials, labor
leaders, industry executives and general readers, in every country with an interest in how society goes
about making things. The best way to describe lean production is to contrast it to its predecessors:
craft production and mass production. Craft production uses highly skilled workers and simple but
flexible tools to make exactly what the consumer asks for, one item at a time. The result is that
consumers get exactly what they want but at a prohibitively high cost. Mass production uses narrowly
skilled professionals to design products made by unskilled or semiskilled workers tending expensive,
single purpose machines. The machines produce standardized products in very high volume. Due to
the high cost of disruption of the process, the mass producer adds many buffers extra supplies,
workers and space to assure smooth production. Also due to high cost of changing over to a new
product, the mass producer keeps standard designs in production as long as possible. The result is the
consumer gets lower costs but at the expense of variety, and workers tend to find their part of the
process boring. Lean production, by contrast, uses teams of multiskilled workers at all levels of the
organization, and uses highly flexible, increasingly automated machines to produce large volumes of
products in enormous variety. The term

Matchlock Guns In The Nineteenth Century
15th century weapons.
Weapons developed in this century were primarily used for defense of a structure or infantry and
cavalry. The first firearms were matchlock guns developed in this century. Matchlock guns were fuse
ignited and lit by a match. When the fuse burned down it ignited gun powder and fired projectiles.
Matchlock guns were widely used for up to a century before the Wheelock is invented.
16th 17th century weapons.
The wheel lock gun is invented. Similar to the matchlock in every way, except its ignited by a
mechanism that is set back and released forward when the trigger is squeezed creating a spark.
Though the wheel lock was more proficient, it was more expensive to produce than match lock guns.
So matchlock guns were still widely used during this century. The wheel lock guns invention was a
progressive step in firearms.
Later in the 16th century the flintlock gun is developed. The flintlock solved several issues with the
wheel lock gun. They created a lid for the powder pan that would lift simultaneously with the drop of
the flint lever to ignite the powder. Flint lock guns were the dominant gun for two centuries. Flint lock
muskets were used by the infantry in many war s, battles, and engagements throughout this 200 year

Macbeth Pathetic Fallacy Essay
I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o er vales and hills (William Wordsworth, I Wandered
Lonely as a Cloud). Wordsworth uses pathetic fallacy to deepen the meaning behind the poem, as seen
here, by stating I wandered lonely as a cloud...vales and hills , as opposed to simply saying, I
wandered lonely . Similarly, in Shakespeare s, Macbeth, pathetic fallacy deepens the plot with use of
nature allegories. Firstly, at the beginning of the play, the weather of thunder and lightning symbolises
a gloomy event to occur, in which, three murtherers kill Banquo. Secondly, with the air being
somewhat mysterious, odd events begin to happen, which lead to Macbeth s death. Finally, with a

The pathetic fallacy in this statement is the quality and condition of the air is a sign that odd events
will come. Continuing on, when Macduff and Macbeth meet in Macbeth s castle at the end of the play,
Macbeth states that only a man who is not born from a woman can kill him. Macduff counters back to
Macbeth that , And let the angel whom thou still hast served / Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother
s womb / Untimely ripped (5.8.14 16). Macduff states that because of being cut out the womb as
opposed to being born naturally, Macduff is the one who is to kill Macbeth. The analogy of the foggy
and filthy air giving light to odd events to come lead to Macbeth s death because Macduff fits the
description the apparition gave Macbeth. Last but not least, Fleance s note to Banquo about not being
able to see the moon foreshadows of an incoming evil deed, which ends up being Duncan s death.
Banquo and FLeance are sitting outside of Macduff s castle and Banquo asks if Fleance knows what
time it is, and Fleance responds with, The moon is down. I have not heard the clock (2.1.2). Fleance is
unable to tell the time to Banquo because of the lack of moon to alarm the bell of midnight, showing
that the weather is cloudy. Adding on, due to the weather, the event of an evil deed does happen, in the
form of Duncan s death in the hands of Macbeth. Lady Macbeth approaches Duncan s room, when

Gender Relations In English Literature
Literature has a great connection with the construction of gender relations in society in a particular
period written. Gender relations presented in works of literature vary from one period to another.
However, at the same time, the relations have similar bases but the ways they are approached by the
authors are different. English literature has introduced several gender relations in its literary works
from the Elizabethan period to the modernism era. English authors challenged gender relations to
express their perceptions of genders through their work of literature. The representation of male and
female relations in English Literature influence the prevailing attitudes towards genders and reflect the
perception of gender relations in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sonnet goes on about talking how real love is more sincere than the representation of woman s
physical appearance as perfection. Beauty fades away in time, and Shakespeare is curious about his
mistress s personality and character that caused him to truly love her. Shakespeare claims that his
lover doesn t represent a perfect beauty: My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun /If hairs be wires,
black wires grow on her head (1,3). His comparisons are undesirable and unemotional, but afterward,
he proves that his mistress outstands any goddess with a perfect appearance. I grant I never saw a
goddess go;/ My mistress when she walks treads on the ground. (11 12). In these two lines,
Shakespeare is stating the facts and is being straightforward. He proves to us that her lover is nothing
like a goddess, she doesn t have any extraordinary skills, she just walks like a normal human being.
Shakespeare s relationship with his mistress is deeper than a physical appearance. He portrays the
woman in a realistic way. He doesn t use positive terms to praise her, but he uses simple expressions to
show the reality of his love. If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun; (3) in this line
Shakespeare indicates

Nsa Spying Through Smart Phones
NSA Spying Through Smart Phones Smart phones have become a major part of daily life. They allow
people all around the world to communicate with each other instantly. Smart phones enable people to
access all the information they need in mere seconds using the Internet. Most people go about their
days without any worry while using their smart phones. Smart phones have been a tool by the public
for many years now, but they have also been used as a tool for something a little more nefarious.
Background on NSA The NSA is the National Security Agency. This is a government agency tasked
with monitoring, collecting, and processing information from all around the globe. The NSA uses this
information to keep track of the whereabouts of people of interest for the United States, and they use it
to determine what action needs to be taken to protect the US. This includes spying on allies of the
United States, such as Germany, France, the UK, and other nations around the world. However, they
also have been proven to be spying on not only the US s allies, but also, its own citizens.
How They Have Access The NSA has been performing mass surveillance on United States citizens
since as early as 2001. They have teamed up with AT T and other mass communication companies to
have access to phone records and internet traffic to keep an eye on possible terrorist activities
(Electronic Frontier Foundation). People use their smart phones every day to talk, send email, and

I Have A Life Guided By Morality, Driven By Passion, And...
I am Jake Savino, but I have not always known that. I have not truly discovered my identity, who I am
as a person, or what I was put on this planet to do, until recent years. I live a life guided by morality,
driven by passion, and inspired by my loved ones.
My passion is to work in bioethics for a specialty hospital. I gained an emotional connection to the
healthcare field at a very young age, but did not quite know how to make this into my future. It is still
very much a learning process for me; one that I reflect on every minute of every day. I have become
drawn to the dichotomies of the world, specifically in healthcare. I tend to think about things in a very
analytical, philosophical, and empathetic manner. I often question how people ... Show more content

It was a shame to me that my mom s action of stepping forward to tell hospital staff about this
procedure was the deciding factor of my dad s survival. There had to be something more that the
nurses and physicians could have done. I was, and still am, in disbelief. I saw first hand what could
happen if one does not know what options of care are available. Those are the types of atrocities that
are happening today. Very few people are looking out for the common man and people die every day,
needlessly, as a result.
Another person, also very near and dear to my heart, has helped develop my values into my sought
future. I have been a mentor for a physically and mentally challenged individual named David through
an organization called Countryside Association for People with Disabilities. People like David are
turned down from healthcare all the time because our health system renders them as functioning adults
when, in fact, they are not capable of living on their own at all. If such wonderful parents had not
adopted David, the state would not provide care for him past age twenty four, other than providing
income for disability. David cannot manage himself. The fact that there are people in the world
struggling with similar issues, and nobody to advocate for them worries me.
I believe that everyone deserves the right to the best care available without the basis of income,
employment, or social standing. I believe cutting edge approaches need to be offered to

The For Supper
Would you mind setting the table for supper, Charity Nancy stopped mid sentence when she saw the
look on Charity s face. The poor child has no idea of how to set a table, thought Nancy. She smiled at
Charity, hoping to ease the anxiousness that was clearly visible on her face. It s alright, dear; I ll show
you how. I am sure you will catch on pretty quick; there s nothing to it. When they had gotten
everything ready and on the table, Nancy went to the door and called the men folk in for supper.
Although Charity was hungry, once everyone fixed their plate and began eating, she became nervous;
she could barely eat because she kept sneaking glances in Henry s direction. It seemed he had a
second sense or something, because nearly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since I got old, we don t get a lot of fresh meat; and now that the wife has passed, the child and me
have been lacking in fresh vegetables our gardening skills is lacking. Don t pay Eli any mind, Mr.
Finley, said Nancy. He just likes to grumble. I cook more meat and potatoes because that is what I
have the most of to cook. One day, I might fry them, the next day, if I find a few carrots in the garden,
I ll make a stew. Yeah, Nancy s right; admitted Eli. I don t have any call to be grumbling about
eating... we have more than a lot of folks has, but we was born poor; I reckon we ll die poor, said Eli,
and without stopping his string of discourse, added, I hear the land over in Georgia and Alabama is
better for growing cotton than it is here in the watershed. Maybe one day, these youngsters will get a
chance to check it out, Eli mused. Charity and Henry both snuck a quick look at each other. She knew
her face must be blood red from embarrassment Charity knew what was up because of the
conversation she and her grandfather had on the way there, but wondered if Henry had any idea of
what his father and her grandfather had up their sleeves. Eli and her grandfather also talked a little
about raising tobacco, indigo, and rice like many of the large plantations around Savannah were doing;
both agreed that without slaves or a passel, of hardy sons to work the land, it wasn t even worth the

Herbert Hoover And The Great Depression
In the 1920s, Americans were trying to figure out what was everyone s role in society. During this
time women started to take on bigger jobs then housekeeping and African Americans are finally
standing up for their race. Once 1929 hit, Herbert Hoover, America s newest president, was viewed as
an American Superhero at that time because of everything he promised society; however, America
gets hit by the Great Depression leaving society in a hole. While banking systems were unstable and
overproduction were leaving people bankrupt, Herbert Hoover was blaming Europe and was failing to
keep society financially stable. As his presidency went on, filmmakers made film cycles and gangster
pictures like Little Caesar that portrayed America s corrupt society during the Great Depression. By
the end of his campaign, Hoover was known as the worst American ever which led to the rising of
Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933. Roosevelt saw the struggling society as an opportunity to help his
campaign in which he created the New Deal. America was given an opportunity that allowed them to
look forward to the future. During Herbert Hoover s presidency, America did not support the federal
government, but after Franklin D. Roosevelt ran for president and promised a New Deal, they began to
look more favorably on the government. Herbert Hoover was known as the great humanitarian who
can solve any problem he faced. Later on, it turns out to be false which ends up hurting not only
America but the people

Mayella Ewell In To Kill A Mockingbird
Mayella Ewell represents the physical manifestation of what ignorance, racism and prejudice can do to
a person. She has been abused by her father, a man that shows no regard for his family. As a result of
her horrible upbringing she has little sense of self worth. Mayella envy s Tom Robinson, a black man
who demonstrates love for his family, kindness towards others; no matter what color and self respect,
everything she has been denied. When she reaches out to him and witnesses his decency , something
she never received from her own father, she lashes out by accusing him of attacking her. She wants to
blame someone for her misfortunes.Tom Robinson possessed what Mayella yearned for, a family to

Ethnic Demonstrations Of Indonesi The Toraja
There are numerous ethnic gatherings in Indonesia .One of them is the Toraja in South Sulawesi .The
word Toraja originates from the bugis dialect to raja significance meaning individuals of the uplands
(Klass et al,1999:45).This name occurred when the Dutch provincial government named them .In
toraja there is still religion called aluk todolo this runs nearby muslim and Christianity .In this article I
will inspect the torajan rituals and customs around myth, death and ancestor worship.
Toraja is roughly 3,180 square kilometers, initially intensely forested, has been changed by
development. The couple of remaining woods spread slants unacceptable for development. The main
method for subsistence is farming. Rice, cassava, and maize are the staples; espresso and cloves are
the vital money crops. (Bigalke,1981;13)Creature cultivation is practiced on a vast scale, however just
the rearing of pigs is of financial significance. The bison, a grown up toy, is once in a while utilised
for function as a part of the fields. The creature has principally a ritualised function, for the prevalent
kind of death feast requires many buffalo
The autochthonous religion of the Toraja is called Aluk To Dolo to dolo actually implies that is,
conviction of the old, or customs of the precursors. (Chambert et al 2002:117)In this religion,
precursor clique, myth, and custom are entwined. Amid therituals, the to minaa, a minister

Spiral of Silence Theory
Spiral of Silence Theory Elizabeth Noelle Neumann s spiral of silence is a theory that was developed
in 1974 and as the founder and the director of the Public Opinion Research Center in Allensbach in
Germany; she has found evidence of how the spread of public opinion is formed. The term spiral of
silence refers to the increasing pressure people feel to conceal their views they think they are the
minority. People will be unwilling to publicly express their opinion if they are in the minority and they
will also be more vocal if they believe they are a part of the majority. Thus, the more marginalized you
become, the less you speak and so you spiral into a fully marginalized position. Neumann s claim are
based on previous collaborative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is used to reveal a series of factors that measures the likelihood that people will voice their opinions.
There are six factors and the first one is the most important: 1. Those who favor the majority position
are willing to express their voice more comfortably. Feeling in harmony with the spirit of the age
loosens the tongue. [Griffin, Em. Spiral of Silence. A First Look at Communciation Theory. 7th ed.
N.p.: McGraw Hill, n.d. N. pag. Print. 2. If perception of the present opinon does not match the
climate of the conversation, the willingness to speak will depend on how well the conversation
continues on. 3. People are more willing to speak if their views match their counterparts than to those
who disagree. 4. Low self esteem will cause a person to mute their opinion more often than others. 5.
Males, young adults, and people of the middle and upper classes tend to speak out more easily. 6.
Existing law encourages people to express their opinion when they feel outnumbered. The Supreme
Court s Roe v Wade is a good example. Now that we know the building blocks of the spiral of silence,
we can get to root of Noelle Neumann s model of her theory leading to her main point and the last
factor, fear of isolation. The fear of isolation is the centrifugal force that accelerates the spiral of
silence. Essentially, people fear becoming social isolates and thus take measures to avoid such a
consequence. Her assumption is drawn

Analysis Of Sherwood Anderson s Hands
Sherwood Anderson Hands is a short story written by Sherwood Anderson. The action takes place
during the 1890s in Winesburg, Ohio, however, the writer takes you back to Pennsylvania for the
reader to understand the background of the story. The tone of the writer is serious. Hands deals with
the psychological trauma suffered by Adolph Myers, who later adopts the name of Wing Biddlebaum
after being driven out of his town in Pennsylvania by false accusations. I think we can see how
emotionally hurt and mentally disturbed Biddlebaum is. When Willard asks him about his hands;
Biddlebaum gets upset and remembers his students. You hear them talk and you try to imitate them.
He made the use of the word imitate probably because his students jumped in the bandwagon of
accusing him. Here and there went his hands, caressing the shoulders of the boys, playing about the
tousled heads. When I first started reading about how caring he was for the boys, I suspected
immediately of him. But the truth is that Adolph Myers didn t have bad intentions. The touching of the
hair were a part of the schoolmaster s effort to carry a dream into the young minds. What I dislike is
the injustice committed by these parents and the people from the town. Instead of digging deeper to
find out the truth they decided to blame him when there was a lack of evidence to support the facts.
Things are not always what they look like and we should we careful of the things we say. It has been
tested

  • 3. The Importance Of Long Distance Communication Something else that was important with communication that was mentioned in most of the studies, was openness, openness was positively correlated with relational satisfaction says Maguire and Kinney (2010:41). To ensure a strong foundation, strong communication is important and can lead to a healthy and successful relationship. Communicating not only issues but good things about the relationship itself. For example relational savoring may be an effective tool for preventing declines in relationship satisfaction , says Borelli (2015:1103 ) In this study, couples who were able to savor their relationship had a higher satisfaction rating than those who did not. Talking about all things can only lead to strengthening a long distance relationship and that is why is is an important part of a successful long distance relationship. Next in a study by Borelli (2015), some conclusions were found in the study that contributed to successful long distance relationships. First, physical separations can lead to low security in a long distance relationship, so being sure that each partner feels loved and secure in the relationship. This feeling of security can protect the quality of their relationship from the stresses inherent to LDRs (long distance relationships) , says Borelli (2015: 1085) . Next, couples who had higher satisfaction in the partnership were more comfortable to share and focus on feelings with each other. Lastly, ensuring the relationship satisfaction is secure and ... The first task that this section took upon as evaluating the first four films of a series of films called why we fight , which was designed to motivate American soldiers to fight in the war. This research became part of the evidence suggesting that strong held attitudes are less likely to change because of one mass communication message. On the top of that researchers began then to examine attitude change due to the cognitive process, which means that receivers of the message actively think about the message and change their attitude. But more recent theories reveal that a number of variables working together at the same time results in attitude change. furthermore, to change attitudes there are specific techniques to follow, the first technique is the one sided and two sided messages, which is basically either presenting one side of the message ... However, this statement holds under certain conditions. First, the Humane Society recommends zoos to be organized around a core mission that educates the public about the needs of the animals and the threats they face . Also, zoos should provide animals with humane care and adapted to their physical, social and psychological needs. Finally, ASPCA indicates, zoos should participate in tightly controlled breeding programs and their display should stress the themes of endangered species, wild habitat destruction and reduced biodiversity . For the purpose of this paper, we will take an in depth look at three of these such market structures. Monopoly and Monopolistic competitive market along with Oligopoly. We will look at how and why these markets exist in conjunction with the advantages to the producer and the disadvantages to the consumer. As we research Monopoly in detail, compare the monopolistic competitive market and Oligopoly, we will also discuss the Gas market in relation to these types of markets. To begin to understand monopolies, we have researched several things. Why do they exist? What do they do, in response to the economy? Although, we don t see many monopolies now due to antitrust laws to prevent monopolies from forming, there are natural monopolies. There are several reasons why monopolies exist. These are known as barriers to entry. Scarce resources with one producer can limit the number of other firms joining the market as competition. Increasing returns to scale prevents smaller firms from entering an industry because as output rises average total cost falls. This in turn enables these producers to grow and tolerate the monopoly. This is now where a natural monopoly is formed. A single producer of an industry has a large cost advantage over other smaller firms, if they existed in the industry. A natural monopoly includes local water, gas and electricity providers. These ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is a quote from the book The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins, and it is a prime example of the dystopian society the book is set in. Another book set in a dystopian society is Lord of the Flies, by William Golding. The Hunger Games is a book about a society where every year, 24 people are sent to fight to the death in the Hunger Games. Lord of the Flies is about a big group of young children getting trapped on an island and having to figure out how to survive on their own without any adults. Both the novel Lord of The Flies and the book The Hunger Games present societies that are vicious and cruel, in similar settings, even though there are some differences between the two stories. One similarity between both books is the use of fire. At the beginning of Lord of the Flies fire is used to try to give a signal to passing ships that there are children trapped on the island. If a ship comes near the island they may not be able to notice us. So we must make smoke on top of the mountain. We must make a fire (33). At the beginning of The Hunger Games fire is used to gain the Capitol s attention during the ceremony where all tributes ride on chariots. I want the audience to recognize you when you re in the arena, says Cinna dreamily. Katniss, the girl who was on fire (67). In both situations, fire is used to gain attention of people who will be able to help them in the future, whether it s giving them a gift during the Games, or rescuing them. However, later on in the stories fire is used differently. At the end of Lord of the Flies, Jack s group uses fire to try to burn down the forest in order to find and kill Ralph. The fire was a big one and the drum roll that he had thought had left so far behind was nearer (182). This quote is from a part when Ralph is hiding in the currently burning down forest, trying to escape from Jack. In The Hunger Games, fire is used to burn down part of the arena for the Games, in order to bring Katniss closer to the other tributes. This fire is designed to flush us out, to drive us together (173). One difference between the two books is the idea of unique appearances. In Lord of the Flies, there is the ... • 22. Definition Of Effective Leadership And Leadership Scripture has much to say in regards to leadership and those in positions of leadership. The Bible tells us that leaders are to lead with integrity and values that govern the heart. So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them with skillful hands. (Psalm 78:72 NKJV) Unfortunately, that is not the practice of many in leadership, often leaders operate with a public set of values that differs from that of their private life. The definition of effective leadership has changed from character driven leadership to results oriented leadership and is now determined by the results a leader produces, as long as the leader is producing good results, the private life of a leader has no bearing on the situation. (Rima, 2000) While it is true, that leaders can, for a time, engage in a quality practice of leadership that differs from their personal life and produce positive results, eventually, the destructive behaviors of their personal life will affect and influence their public life and may result in failure and scandal. The dangers of this dichotomy are leaders that are emotionally or psychologically unhealthy and the end result is leaders that lack integrity and depth of character. The consequence of this philosophy is failed businesses and churches, ineffective governments, broken marriages and families. This disconnect between the public and private life has led to a major distrust and wariness of public leaders. Rima believes that the root cause ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The typical clinical setting of a SRNA consistently parallels the conditions that define a stressful environment. Dr. William Halstead, the New York surgeon accredited with popularizing regional anesthesia in the United States, used cocaine outside of the clinical setting as a method of coping with the rigorous stressors of his career (McDonough, 1990). The stress resulting from the SRNA education along with the DNP program can be a major source of psychological stress for the SRNA. McDonough (1990) found that personalities and addictive tendencies of individuals caused some individuals to abuse drugs. A survey was administered to 150 students to assess addictive personality traits. Results indicated that anesthesia students had significantly higher scores in excitement seeking behaviors. Jones Liberty University Business for the Glory of God Book Review Grudem explains that God proved personal ownership by demanding that thou shall not steal (Ex. 20:15). By owning our possessions, we imitate God s sovereignty by exercising sovereignty over a small portion of the world. By taking care of our personal belongings or improving upon them (cleaning the pool, or adding a deck to a home) we imitate God who owns a cattle on a thousand hills (Ps. 50:10). I honestly can say that this book is a wonderful tool for anyone who wants to learn more on how to serve God by being a professional businessman or businesswoman. The layout of Mr. Grudem s thoughts is pointing out specific Scriptures that speak to the issues he addresses in his book. It may seem like a surprise to most believe that some inequality of possessions can be good and very pleasing to God. But we first must remember that there is no sin or evil in heaven, the Bible preaches that there are certain rewards in heaven and various kinds of stewardship that God entrusts to different individuals. We should think of all inequalities of possession as wrong and evil. In the current days that we live in there are inequalities of gifts and abilities, and there are also evil, oppressive systems in the world, and because of these things many of God s most righteous people will not be wealthy in current life. For the individuals that have large resources, they also should trust in God and not his riches. The brief chapters are manageable for individuals who live in our fast paced society. The chapters are full of solid material that can provoke thought and reflection. The author goes over the Ownership aspect and describes that a business owner is a reflection of how God takes care of the universe. As a business owner you would think that it actually belongs to you, but in reality we untimely ours. As individuals you should share the things that you own and to learn to not be ... ADA stands for Americans with Disabilities Act. The Americans with Disabilities Act is extremely vital in the medical field. Not only is it the law to ensure that there is appropriate access to those with disabilities, on the other hand it is also medically necessary to treat all patients. Over the course of History of Science, we have examined the various factors influencing the life and work of various men of science, and how the society, polity and religion of their time affected their contributions to science. We began with the classical elegance of Newtonian Enlightenment, drifted onto the chaotic happenings of the Industrial Revolution, glanced past the Romantic Movement and finally came upon the Einsteinian revelation. I appreciate her use of didactic materials that are designed to be practical and that her activities and play are focused as closely to real life and community as possible. The best way to describe lean production is to contrast it to its predecessors: craft production and mass production. Craft production uses highly skilled workers and simple but flexible tools to make exactly what the consumer asks for, one item at a time. The result is that consumers get exactly what they want but at a prohibitively high cost. Mass production uses narrowly skilled professionals to design products made by unskilled or semiskilled workers tending expensive, single purpose machines. The machines produce standardized products in very high volume. Due to the high cost of disruption of the process, the mass producer adds many buffers extra supplies, workers and space to assure smooth production. Also due to high cost of changing over to a new product, the mass producer keeps standard designs in production as long as possible. The result is the consumer gets lower costs but at the expense of variety, and workers tend to find their part of the process boring. Lean production, by contrast, uses teams of multiskilled workers at all levels of the organization, and uses highly flexible, increasingly automated machines to produce large volumes of products in enormous variety. I don t have any call to be grumbling about eating... we have more than a lot of folks has, but we was born poor; I reckon we ll die poor, said Eli, and without stopping his string of discourse, added, I hear the land over in Georgia and Alabama is better for growing cotton than it is here in the watershed. Maybe one day, these youngsters will get a chance to check it out, Eli mused. Charity and Henry both snuck a quick look at each other. She knew her face must be blood red from embarrassment Charity knew what was up because of the conversation she and her grandfather had on the way there, but wondered if Henry had any idea of what his father and her grandfather had up their sleeves. Eli and her grandfather also talked a little about raising tobacco, indigo, and rice like many of the large plantations around Savannah were doing; both agreed that without slaves or a passel, of hardy sons to work the land, it wasn t even worth the discussion. • 47. Spiral of Silence Theory Spiral of Silence Theory Elizabeth Noelle Neumann s spiral of silence is a theory that was developed in 1974 and as the founder and the director of the Public Opinion Research Center in Allensbach in Germany; she has found evidence of how the spread of public opinion is formed. The term spiral of silence refers to the increasing pressure people feel to conceal their views they think they are the minority. People will be unwilling to publicly express their opinion if they are in the minority and they will also be more vocal if they believe they are a part of the majority. Thus, the more marginalized you become, the less you speak and so you spiral into a fully marginalized position. Neumann s claim are based on previous collaborative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is used to reveal a series of factors that measures the likelihood that people will voice their opinions. There are six factors and the first one is the most important: 1. Those who favor the majority position are willing to express their voice more comfortably. Feeling in harmony with the spirit of the age loosens the tongue. [Griffin, Em. Spiral of Silence. A First Look at Communciation Theory. 7th ed. N.p.: McGraw Hill, n.d. N. pag. Print. 2. If perception of the present opinon does not match the climate of the conversation, the willingness to speak will depend on how well the conversation continues on. 3. People are more willing to speak if their views match their counterparts than to those who disagree. 4. Low self esteem will cause a person to mute their opinion more often than others. 5. Males, young adults, and people of the middle and upper classes tend to speak out more easily. 6. Existing law encourages people to express their opinion when they feel outnumbered. The Supreme Court s Roe v Wade is a good example. Now that we know the building blocks of the spiral of silence, we can get to root of Noelle Neumann s model of her theory leading to her main point and the last factor, fear of isolation. The fear of isolation is the centrifugal force that accelerates the spiral of silence. Essentially, people fear becoming social isolates and thus take measures to avoid such a consequence. • 48. Analysis Of Sherwood Anderson s Hands Sherwood Anderson Hands is a short story written by Sherwood Anderson. The action takes place during the 1890s in Winesburg, Ohio, however, the writer takes you back to Pennsylvania for the reader to understand the background of the story. The tone of the writer is serious. Hands deals with the psychological trauma suffered by Adolph Myers, who later adopts the name of Wing Biddlebaum after being driven out of his town in Pennsylvania by false accusations. I think we can see how emotionally hurt and mentally disturbed Biddlebaum is. When Willard asks him about his hands; Biddlebaum gets upset and remembers his students. You hear them talk and you try to imitate them. He made the use of the word imitate probably because his students jumped in the bandwagon of accusing him. Here and there went his hands, caressing the shoulders of the boys, playing about the tousled heads. When I first started reading about how caring he was for the boys, I suspected immediately of him. But the truth is that Adolph Myers didn t have bad intentions. The touching of the hair were a part of the schoolmaster s effort to carry a dream into the young minds. What I dislike is the injustice committed by these parents and the people from the town. Instead of digging deeper to find out the truth they decided to blame him when there was a lack of evidence to support the facts. Things are not always what they look like and we should we careful of the things we say. It has been tested ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
