Similarities Between Canada And Canada
When it comes to certain qualities and attributes of the United States of America and Canada, many
people residing elsewhere fail to tell the difference. The accents of people from certain parts of both
countries, for instance, are so incredibly indistinguishable that they baffle any and everyone. Besides
this one factor, they even share some comparable cultural characteristics, such as driving on the right
side of the road and cherishing the same basic human rights to the utmost importance. Likewise, there
are several similarities between multiple aspects of the countries respective governments, including
within their individual established frameworks, political systems, and their divisions of authorities and
duties. These could potentially point out a reason as to why Canada and the United States are
immensely successful in their particular objectives, and are on their paths to achieving their long term
goals with difficult to accomplish, yet beneficial visions. After all, they are both either on the way to
becoming or currently are two of world s leading superpowers (Financial Post). However, there is not
just one particular infallible way to rule a country and push it to further advancement simultaneously.
In fact, each country works and functions differently, which is primarily due to individual background
and history. Ultimately, although Canada and the United States of America are both nations that share
similarities in various parts of their Constitutions, political

Uk Referendum Essay
The results of the 2016 UK referendum was a surprise to the rest of the world, but there are definitely
factors that made this a predictable result. At first glance, one might assume that economics were the
main contributing factor to the people s discontent of membership in the EU. But as I researched, I
found that politics in the UK and the EU had a far greater impact on the feelings of Brits. However,
some important economic factors still exist. The European Union s economy, despite being one of the
largest in the world; very comparable to the size of the economy of the United States, does not provide
a great benefit to the UK. Both the economies of the UK and of the EU are less than ideal for the
respective nations, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As Germany is, after the UK and possibly France, the most influential nation in the EU, its interests
will be well represented and therefore the UK does not need to worry about their ease of trade with
mainland Europe being hindered. Economically, the United Kingdom has nothing to lose, and
everything to gain, by forfeiting their membership in the EU. As was mentioned earlier, as important
as economics are to understanding this situation, their importance is nowhere near as fundamental to
the outcome of the referendum as are the effects of modern European politics. The modern world has
recently seen a sharp rise of populism. The citizens of today s first world nations do not trust their
government and its politicians. Populism is The support for the concerns of ordinary people [10].
People distrust mainstream politicians that have history in federal government. A wonderful example
of this new political tendency, other than the positive vote for brexit, is the election of Donald Trump
as president of the United States of America. Midway through the election season a popular US news
source predicted that Trump had less than a 5% chance of winning the election[11]. However, this
source did not take into account the negative feelings of the American voting public toward
mainstream politicians, such as Trump s opponent Hillary Clinton. Analysts believe that the same
phenomenon of populism that elected Trump can also explain the

Persuasive Essay On Conspiracy Theories
The Internet has played a large role in my interest in conspiracy theories. Although I definitely do not
believe all of them, they are fun to look into and are good tools for procrastination. Falling deeper into
the hole that is Wikipedia, I spent a large amount of my free time researching them. It got to the point
where I had to force myself to actually work on homework instead. However, I am not one of those
crazy conspiracy theorists; I am only interested in ones that seem legit. All interesting conspiracy
theories have similar qualities. A majority of them involve the government or celebrities. And
depending on the theory, they are believable.
My personal favorites all happen to involve the government, some classics included. It is said that
9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by Bush to purposely start a war with Afghanistan. Some survivors
recall that they heard separate explosions at the time of the attacks, which has led people to believe
that there were pre planted explosives inside the Twin Towers. It is a well known fact that the towers
collapsed at one point, but this is seen as suspicious to many conspiracy theorists. A common known
phrase among believers is jet fuel can t melt steel beams. Another widely believed theory is that the
Royal Family killed Princess Diana. There are a few versions, one of which is that they killed her to
prevent her from exposing the Family for being awful and corrupt. The other is where she was killed
for loving a man of color,

The Fashion Field As A Global Phenomenon
Chapter II
1. Introduction
In times where fashion is perceived as a global phenomenon, it seems easier than ever for people to
follow, consume and produce fashion from anywhere at any point of time. Media is spreading what s
hot and what s not within seconds all over the globe. A closer look at the mechanisms of the creation
of fashion from a practical and theoretical angel sheds light on the well guarded boarders of this so
called fashion democracy. Who decides the content of fashion? A simple answer given, collectively
repeated by those involved in the creation of fashion is talent. Without talent and the right intuition
fashion cannot arise and prosper.
In this essay a will give a brief outline of the fashion field, following the theoretical approach and
terminology of Pierre Bourdieu, and its structure which sets the limits to the democratic fashion by
unequally producing and distributing fashion talent. The resulting global disproportion of so called
talent is visible in the excessive attention New York, Paris and London receive as fashion gatekeepers.
Dubai, with its eyes set on 2020 to become the most prestigious fashion capital of the world, struggles
to compete with those giants. Hence, it applies a subversive strategy by building a fashion education
system to equip its very own local talent with the skills to advance in the global fashion market. The
effectiveness and constrains of this strategy I will examine on the following pages and give a prospect

The Importance Of The Cochlear Implants
The cochlear implant is quite possibly one of the greatest ideas invented to benefit the deaf
community. American Sign Language (ASL) has been the main way the deaf communicate and is
extremely important to the deaf culture. To those that can hear, being deaf or profoundly hard of
hearing has been considered a handicap. It was for that reason that someone invented the cochlear
implant, causing a huge debate within the deaf community. Some of those in the deaf community fear
that their culture will be lost and destroyed, while others and the hearing community believe that it
will better their lives. Most do not realize that this procedure is not a cure and that it will leave those
with the implants confused as to where they belong in society. There are quite a few who believe the
cochlear implants work just like the hearing aid, only implanted in their head. However, there are
significant differences between the two. Cochlear implants do not restore normal hearing, whereas the
use of hearing aids can bring it close to normal. Hearing aids send amplified sound to the damaged
cochlea, and can be programmed to shape amplification of sound to match the hearing loss. Hearing
aids are very limited in their ability to aid severe and profound hearing loss beyond environmental
sound and vowels in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cochlear implants are made up of four different parts: microphone, speech processor, transmitter
receiver/stimulator, and the electrode array. The microphone picks up sounds from the environment.
The speech processor selects and arranges sounds from the microphone. The transmitter
receiver/stimulator receives signals from the speech processor and converts them into electrode
impulses. The electrode array is a group of electrodes that collect the impulses from the stimulator and
sends them to different regions of the auditory

Essay On Rules In Hamlet
Boundaries of Society Rules are what keeps society in tact. Without rules there would be a lot of chaos
and everybody would be free to do whatever they like. People need some kind of restrictions in their
lives. During the play, Hamlet, by William Shakespeare, Hamlet seems to struggle through his mission
to kill his uncle for killing his father. The reasons for that are obvious, you can t just kill anyone out in
the obvious. There are rules that restrict you from doing that and if you are caught breaking those rules
there will be a horrible punishment waiting for you. The restrictions Hamlet had would be a prime
reason for why the book ended up how it did. Rules and Restrictions play a key role in society. Hamlet
could have done a lot to just kill his uncle but of course that is against the rules and if he were to do
that he would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
King Claudius kills his own brother to take over the thrown. That is by far the worst thing he could
have done. He wanted to be king so bad he killed his own brother for the spot of king. The reason he
did that is most likely because he then doesn t have to live by any of the rules just like all the others.
He is free to do whatever he wants to do as king of Denmark. Claudius doesn t have to live by any
restraints and is free to do whatever he likes. He doesn t have to live with any of those restraints and
the ironic thing about it is that he broke one the rules to get to where he is. This shows us that some
people in a society aren t scared to go against the restraints they have. They will do just about
anything to get to where they want to get to. This tells us that society can t live within the rules and
will always want to do whatever they want. People don t do anything though, and that s because they
are terrified of the punishment they will get, but if they don t get penalized for their actions then they
will go on a streak and won t be scared to get caught at

Inspect Your Exterior Doors for Damage In an emergency evacuation situation, you don t want poorly
constructed or maintained exterior doors trapping your employees inside. Take a few minutes to
inspect important aspects of the door, such as the hinges, the latch, and the knob. Questions to ask
when inspecting your doors include: Do the hinges move easily or haltingly? Is there any catch in the
latch or any trick you need to use to get it open? Does the door handle move easily or with difficulty?
Is the door too heavy for weaker employees to move? Does it swing inward, potentially preventing
people from escaping in a panic? If the answer to any of these questions is problematic, it may be time
to either get your door repaired or replaced. After all, you don t want an inward swinging door
dooming your employees to a death by fire. Bring It Together With a Fire Drill Conducting fire drills
is the best way to check how prepared your employees are for an emergency. Never announce them
before: unveiling them without warning will help make sure your employees know exactly what to

Angelina Grimke Abolition
Because of her concern for white masters and resulting choices to abandon her famous slave holding
family to move to the North, to write an address to southern women, and to speak in front of audiences
of both men and women, Angelina Grimke adopted the abolitionist cause and often challenged her
role in society. Originally, Grimke was promoting abolition out of concern for whites as she believed
that slavery was anti Christian; she was seen trying to discourage family from having slaves out of
concern for her salvation. However, that family would have been a difficult one to persuade as they
were the one of the most prominent slaveholding families in South Carolina; there were rumors that
each family member had their own slave who would help

Why Did Gunsmith Shops Like Retail Shops
Gunsmith shops were not like retail shops today. Gunsmith shops were very small buildings typically
not on main streets of major towns. They usually built their shops out of stone because it was fire
resistance. They used gravel, flat stone, clay, or a mixture of these. They used this because of its strong
stainability to fire, and its long life span. The most basic shops had only two rooms. One for metal
working and one for wood working. The metal working room contained the forge and the wood
working room had many basic tools. Sometimes, their shops were located on their personal property.
As tensions arise between the colonists and the British, gunsmiths had to work longer hours and they
had to increase the amount of guns they made. In result, gunsmiths became staff mangers overseeing

carve depressions in the pan of the firing mechanism. Gunsmiths also used tools that people in other

both use include: anvils, hammers, vises, clamps, tongs, files, shears, bellows, and the forge.

The Importance Of My Life
Life puts obstacles in our way, it s up to us to get passed them. I think my biggest complaint is That s
not fair as my mom always tells me Life s not fair . Life isn t the greatest but it s up to oneself to make
the best out of it. I complain a lot about how unfair life is with me, I ve had personal events happen
that I wouldn t wish upon anyone. I lost my grandpa when I was twelve, my grandma is in and out of
the hospital for medical reasons. I grew up with my grandma and grandpa due to the fact my mom was
always working or to busy too be around when I was younger. My older sister and I always fought and
hated being around each other, I was bullied since the third grade for being fatter than everyone else.
My father walked out of my life without caring. My father named his other child exactly like me
knowing about me. Due to all these situations, I began to care less and less about life, my education,
the ways it affected my family, and the way it would affect my future. Father s Day, June 18, 2012,
just after school finish and summer had just begun, my grandpa passed away, I was the closest to him
and losing him hurt me more than anything else in the world. That morning my mom received a call
that we needed to rush to the hospital because he didn t have much time left. In the car, all I can think
of was why me? Why is this happening to me ? Just as soon as I walked into his room I looked up at

The Need Of Quality Medical Care

to increase the number of quality professionals. The changing market is in need of professionals who
are both knowledgeable and talented enough to deliver care to the underserved community of this
great country. Saint Francis University, is addressing this need by providing education to qualified
students to enable them to become future leaders. Saint Francis s addresses this national shortage by
advancing students problem solving skills and clinical knowledge, all the while maintaining a focus on
serving the community. My core values include servant leadership which means in everything I want
to do I want to be serving those around me. I have come to the conclusion, the only way to serve the
community in the fullest capacity is to first become educated on the needs of the community. To gain
understanding of what is required to serve this world, I took time volunteering in a nursing home as
therapy aide and working at podiatrist office. Although these experiences can be limiting, the
information gained in serving people is invaluable. Working with people to meet basic needs has
shown me the importance of humbly approaching all scenarios and patients. I realize our personal
growth should never slow down and we should never stop learning. I have been gifted with the ability

Pathological Gambling Substance Abuse
It is important to know if there is a link between gambling disorders and substance use because it can
assist in finding treatment that works more effectively for comorbidity of these disorders. It is also
important to note that it could also help figure out the neurological explanation to addiction because
drugs can change the shape and processes of a brain, and gambling is a form of addiction that does
not. Pathological gambling and substance abuse/ dependence have similar classifications. This paper
will provide evidence to answer the question what is relationship between gambling disorders and
substance use in adults?

A Hope In The Unseen Character Analysis
Most times you hear of parents telling their kids to try to be the best they can be. It s not often you
hear kids talk about their parents telling them to be just enough. What is the best advice for parents to
give to their kids? To shoot for the stars or to shoot low? I believe that parents should tell their kids to
try to reach for their dreams, no matter how impossible they seem.
In A Hope in the Unseen, Phillip s father advises his kids to set attainable goals so they can have some
security. The advice that Phillip s father gives him and his siblings does have it strengths. As his father
says, it does allow for some security in knowing their future. It also doesn t set up for possible
disappointment if their goals are not met.
Though the shoot low strategy has it s strengths, there are weaknesses to it. For starters, it limits kids
in what they re able to do in their future. It also doesn t give kids a chance to be the best they can be.

Although I strongly believe that parents should tell their kids to shoot for the starts and try their best,
whether or not parents decide to tell their kids to shoot low is their choice. In the case, parents are like
pet keepers and their kids are like birds. So as a parent, they can either be the wind underneath their

A Report On Australian Auto Manufacturing Industry
Executive Summary
The Government of Australia granted $500 million every year to car manufacturing industry in
Australia. Australian auto manufacturing industry confronts a genuine unverifiable future. In the
present day, Australia produces just 225,000 engine vehicles. This is an industry that depends
intensely on the economies of scale and it is of prime significance to accomplish costs
competitiveness, in any case it is the present volume that is to a great degree disillusioning. This
likewise controls interests in upgrading innovations in auto assembling, for example, propelled
mechanical autonomy. With the verifiable ascent in the Australian dollar trade rates, the industry is
experiencing focused weight as far as less expensive imports and fare competitiveness. Additionally
there are a few protectionist arrangements in numerous noteworthy and vital export destinations that
stand to hamper the export. For instance, in spite of the extremely fruitful Thailand Australian Free
exchange Agreement, the Thai Government forces a non levy obligation. This makes the domain s
cost in Thailand extremely unappealing.

10.1 Rembrandt has often been referred to as The Painter of Light for his innovative and influential
approach to depicting light. Describe Rembrandt s approach to depicting light in painting. How is it
influenced by Caravaggio s tenebrism and how does it differ or improve upon that technique?
Rembrandt s depiction and use of light represented the fluidity the human eye (or view) sees . The
human eye views images through a sifted view. In other words it picks out certain (specific elements)
to focus on; bringing those images to light and casting the others into a shadow. Thus, Rembrandt

One can deduce the red dot in the middle of a blank white canvas is just as much art as any of Van
Gogh s masterpieces; after all art is in the eye of the beholder, right?
The downsides may include economic and professional effects. The economic downside is two fold.
First, artists may have to work harder to sell a piece because the availability of art is widespread, thus
creating stiff competition. Second, art in the traditional sense loses its value. No longer are a few art
pieces available to the well to do but a montage of art is available to most anyone.
Professionally, it may become a less coveted talented now that anyone can put their artwork on the

Thus, it is reasonable to think that some artists (mostly those accustomed to be considered the select

stability and professional prestige.

My Hawaii Vacation
When I learned that my family and I would be going to Hawaii, I looked forward to going to the
beach, sightseeing, and the warm weather. I never knew that this vacation would end up teaching me
valuable life lessons. It was the summer of 2014 when I went to Hawaii, and I was so excited because
I love traveling and I had always wanted to go there. There is a six hour time difference which was
hard to get used to because we ended up landing in Hawaii at what would have been four in the
morning in Ohio. Before we landed in Hawaii, the vacation did not start off very well.
When we arrived at the airport in Los Angeles for our connecting flight, we were kept on the plane for
almost an hour, even though our layover was only forty five minutes. We knew we did not have much
time anyways; but after the delay, we thought we would miss the only flight to Hawaii that night.
When we were finally able to get off the plane, a girl around the age of twenty five who was on the
flight was yelling at everyone and trying to push everyone out of the way so she could get out first.
She ended up getting off the plane before us even though she was sitting in the very back. Because of
this, we could not find my brother when we got into the airport. However, the airport security workers
were telling us to just run to the gate. At the gate, we found my brother who was already there talking
to the flight attendant. They ended up having to delay the flight to let us on. I was surprised

Female Athletes And Sporting Events
Abstract
It is obvious in the Western culture; gender makes a difference within the sports. Several studies have
shown how reality discriminates within female sporting events and athletes when compared to males.
The objective of this study is to examine how male athletes and sporting events dominate over female
athletes and sporting events since Title IX law was passed in 1972. The law stated that no person on
the basis of sex, in the U.S. would be discriminated against in any athletics or educational programs.
Since Title IX, women have had an incline in sports participation, equal education experience, pay
salaries, respect, and position opportunities. Though Title IX did make a change for females, it is still

In all areas listed above, female athletes and sporting events struggle and is underrepresented even
with Title IX s strong implementation of equality. In order for male athletes and sporting events to
decrease the dominance over female sporting events, all the support has to start with a change in fan
support.
As a female high school athlete growing up, I witnessed how different fans supported our male and
female sports. Our female soccer and basketball games attendance would consist of mostly parents
and a few students. In contrast, the male sports like football, baseball, and basketball games would
have the stands nearly full at the sound of the first horn or whistle blown. Since the male s game was
right after ours in basketball, fans would start falling in around the 3rd quarter of our game. If the
entertainment and intensity improve, funds increase, and media advertising and promotion inclined for
female athletes and sporting events, male athletes and sporting events would become less dominant
with the help of Title IX that provides ways of change in the history.

Hip Hop Culture Has Influenced The Lives And Identities Of...
Over the last four decades, hip hop culture has influenced the lives and identities of many youth
throughout the world. Depending on their geographical location and socioeconomic backgrounds,
youth have experienced this worldwide culture differently. One similarity amongst these selective
groups of adolescents is the political freedom that has come with engaging in the hip hop scene. Hip
hop allows Black youth in the United States, immigrant youth in France, and Afro Cuban youth in
Cuba to express criticism toward the racial marginalization that they face in order to gain the equality
that society prohibits them from acquiring.
Hip hop has evolved into a source of activism and inspiration that allows Black youth to address the
flaws within the criminal justice system and simultaneously comfort the audience of color who
experience such discrimination. Today, hip hop artists, including Kendrick Lamar a rapper from
Compton, California, practice musical and visual activism. Lamar s song Alright incorporates heartfelt
emotion, and lyrics including Alls my life I has to fight and Wanna kill us dead in the street fo sho .
Lamar demonstrates that even though he has become a well recognized and greatly admired rapper
within the hip hop culture, he continues to face racial subordination in a society who claims that
racism was left in the past. The bold and chastising lyrics highlight his resentment toward the po po
that yearn to kill Blacks, but also creates a notion of hope

The Miracle Worker ( 1962 ) Essay
Communication in The Miracle Worker (1962)
The basic communication concepts can be utilized to evaluate analyze the plotlines and character
relationships of many classic movies. In this paper, the 1962 version of The Miracle Worker is
discussed and analyzed in terms of these communication concepts. The movie revolves around the
story of Helen Keller, a seven year old girl who became deaf and blind after contracting an infection
during her infancy. In order to teach Helen how to communicate, her parents (Kate and Captain
Keller) hire a visually impaired schoolteacher by the name of Anne Sullivan. The film demonstrates
Helen s struggle to communicate with her parents and Anne and how Helen slowly begins to learn,
despite her disabilities. The concepts that I learned in class each helped me to see the movie from a
different perspective. The topics of conflict, perception, and non verbal communication make up the
majority of the film s plotline. Each one of these topics will be discussed in a paragraph about how it
was represented in the film. Throughout the course of the film, there were various conflicts that took
place between the main characters. The conflicts mainly occur between Anne and Helen and between
Kate and Captain Keller. Most of the time, the conflicts are started because of an overall frustration
trying to communicate with Helen. Conflicts can arise because of many different factors, but in this
case, these conflicts arise because of Helen s disabilities. In

Comparing Movies And Viewing A Movie At Home
Both going to the movies and viewing a movie at home, are great ways of escaping with the family
from the everyday turmoil of actuality and experiencing a momentary virtual reality. But which of the
two would be the better experience? Even though there are some similarities between going to the
movies and watching them at home, there are some differences between the two, such as costs, the
types of surrounding atmospheres, and the types of movies that can be watched during the times one
wants to watch them.
The first difference in the movie experience would be costs. As all people today know, entertainment
can be a costly expense. For example, a family of three at a local AMC in Florida can expect to pay
around $29.02 with tax included for two adult tickets, and an additional $11.33 if their child happens
to be under the age of 12. Keep in mind this is not the price for a 3D film or an IMAX showing; that
would be a few extra dollars (AMC Ticket Prices Movie Theater Prices). Now that the admission is
paid for, it s time to head to the concession stand and get the family snacks. In efforts to keep the
nightly costs reasonable, a small drink and small popcorn for one will cost $8.98, so for three people it
would be a total of $26.94. Finally, add an additional $5 for the family s round trip gas expense, and
the nightly total comes to $72.29 (Delgado). On the other hand, for the family that loves to watch
movies, but wants to view those in the comfort of their own home can

Adolf Hitler Vs Franco
Adolf Hitler and Francisco Franco were both authoritarian dictators who had extremely similar goals
for their country. While their ideas and desires were relatively the same, their rise to power and their
consolidation of said power have significant and notable differences. While Franco went on to rule
Spain until his death in 1975, both dictators had been in power at the same time, and with their similar
ideas had formed a cordial relationship. Hitler and Franco both wanted the same thing: unity in their
country, and total rule. In order to do this, they established one party rules (Nazi and Falange) and
began their rise to power. What made both of these men so popular, was the fact that they both
encouraged anti communist ideas. These ideas

Gautama Buddha and Siddhartha
Throughout one s entire existence he/she goes through countless trials to discover our true Self or
some sort of spiritual enlightenment. Along the way one may encounter many teachers that can guide
us along several different paths while telling us what they think is right or wrong. They offer us
guidance and assistance, but still yet one makes his or her own decisions. Clearly portrayed in the
German novella Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, we can easily point out the importance of teachers in
ones life and how they can simply guide us and lead us to finding our Self. Throughout the text it is
obvious that Siddhartha had many guides such as the Samanas, Gotama, and Kamala that ultimately
led to the discovery of his enlightenment. Undoubtedly, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As soon as the Samanas cease their spiritual practices, the real world comes rushing back, and
whatever enlightenment has been achieved dies away. Since Siddharatha is searching for a permanent
answer, he cannot follow the Samanas. Thus, this leads to his next spiritual guide, Gotama. In addition
to Siddharthas many teachers, he meets an enlightened fellow named Gotama. Gotama seems to
radiate pure enlightenment. His teachings include Buddhism s Eightfold Path, the Fourfold Way, and
other aspects of Buddhism, as well as many practices similar to those of the Samanas. Siddhartha soon
dedicates himself to these teachings. As seen in the text, Gotama talked about suffering, the origin of
suffering, the way to release from suffering. Life was pain, the world was full of suffering, but the
page to release from suffering had been found. There was salvation for those who went the way of the
Buddha. (page 29) Siddhartha indeed believed that Gotama held the key that unlocked his own
personal enlightenment because Gotama in turn was enlightened himself. Another example on how
Gotama led Siddhartha to further advance the discovery of himself was when Siddhartha unexpectedly
meets Gotama in the grove and he speaks to him about his doctrine, praising his victory in finding the
unbroken chain of being, of cause and effect. As quoted in the text, Everything is completely clear and
proved. You show the world as a complete, unbroken chain, an eternal chain, linked

Essay about Baldwin s Writing Style in Notes to a Native Son
Father and Son: Bad to Regrettable James Baldwin is known to be one of the best essay writers in the
twentieth century who wrote on a few topics including race, discrimination, sexuality and most of all
his personal experiences. In Notes of a Native Son , he uses two main strategies to get his point across.
First, he likes to tell a story in a narrative view. Following is normally his analysis of the event. He
describes the event and then gives his theory on the matter. By doing this, he grants the reader a
chance to decipher the meaning. His interpretation may not be what the reader s is. He likes to argue
and provides the basis for his argument in Notes of a Native Son . Throughout the essay he talks about
himself and his father, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are stories he incorporates to illustrate the point. In the middle we move to a more self centered
narrative. He tells of his story in New Jersey where he realized he could kill someone. He shares some
of his thoughts of why people acted as they did towards him and others. This is an effective way he
uses narrating and analyzing to work for the reader s understanding. The essay goes into great detail of
his relationship with his father. He describes his father as cruel (65), bitter (65), and beautiful (64). He
does mention the bad in length. On the flip side, he tells us some of the good as well. Throughout his
storytelling, the reader gets a glimpse into his life and the way he feels. His feelings evolve during the
extent of the essay. In the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used
about his father. I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real life, was in danger,
and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred I carried in my own heart. (72) This
hatred he talks about exists towards his father. Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told.
The death had aroused feelings inside Baldwin that he felt he needed to get out. His contempt of his
father (63) lasts through most of the essay. Soon after this, we find out that Mr. Baldwin is sick and

Don t Pay Attention On How The Media Portray Us
I also learn that we don t pay attention on how the media portray us in television. Two of my favorite
shows on television are Scandal and Empire. I now learned that those shows are bad for black
American community. Those show the black community in a negative light. For example empire, the
show is about a black drug dealer who got out of the ghetto and became a multi millionaire and his
wife at the time took the plea for him and went to jail for sixteen so he could become what he is. His
three sons are all broken. Andre, the oldest went to an Ivy League college and is now working in the
empire but he is messed up, he has bipolar disorder and his father never showed him love, the middle
child Jamal is gay and you know most people in the black community don t accept that so his father
don t respect him, he have daddy issues and the youngest one Hakeem, is messed up also because he
has mommy issues because cookie went to jail and never really took care him because she was behind
bars. Cookie is a strong loyal woman and her money and power hungry. She is full of attitude.
Everyone loves her. Basically the show is just full of black stereotypes. The show is not a bad show
because the show also portrayed the issues of black American todays. So it is not so bad. You see there
is like one positive black show on Television right now and it is Black ish. That the only show I could

Escherichia Coli Lab Report
Introduction
Escherichia Coli, located in one of the main organs known as the large intestine, is a type of bacteria
that helps digestion. (Trzepacz, Timmons, and Duobinis Gray, 2016) For Escherichia Coli to remain
stable and alive, it needs specific necessities. These needs are known as the following: Energy,
vitamins, and similar compounds. Escherichia Coli is found everywhere!
Escherichia Coli, or E. Coli, can also form a number of these substances itself with the use of energy.
(Shiloach and Rinas, 2009b) Understanding that it can make these substances with energy, E. Coli can
reproduce asexually to make identical cells through binary fission. (Souza, Castillo, and Eguiarte,
2002. ) Since E.coli is found in mammals, studying this subject is important because the factors of E.
Coli have risks such as food poisoning. Escherichia Coli is found everywhere! Knowing this, they
studied the rapid growth measurements of E.Coli in the lab study. After studying the E. Coli, it was
hypothesized that it had a logistic growth overtime. Meaning the growth rapidly grew continuously in
size ending with a resting point.
Methods
When experimenting this lab on your own, there are certain methods and steps you need to follow.

Ironwood Movie vs. Book

Ironweed is the remarkable story of Francis Phelan, once a talented baseball player, husband and
father of three, who has fallen so far from grace that his home for the past twenty two years has been

way. The story s events take place over a period of three days, in which Francis gradually comes to
terms with the past he fled so long ago. The Ironweed story has been adapted to novel and movie
formats, which will be compared below. I much preferred the movie version to the novel. For me,

Francis leaves two dollars at the front desk for her, and moves on. After Rudy s death the book seems
to go on to a hypothetical what if scenario in which Francis might go back to the hotel to see Helen
and find her dead. If a tombstone had not been mentioned it would be difficult to realize the author if
referring to her death at all. These are just a few examples of Kennedy s unnecessarily grandiose style
of writing, but there was at least one instance where I found the novel to outshine the movie. In the
novel s climax, Francis accepts his wife s offer to move back home. Phelan reads a letter he received
many years ago from his then nine year old daughter, who is now a grown women filled with hatred at
Phelan s desertion of his family. Phelan has kept these letters all these years, and his reading of them is
perhaps the highlight of the entire story. This is not as dramatic or emotional in the film as in the
novel, but visually it is just as intense. I by no means claim to be a novice reader. I consider myself to
be well read, and have a rather wordy writing style myself, but I still found the novel version of
Ironweed to be just to difficult to follow. I fully understand the authors use of descriptive language to
create a world in which the reader is able to imagine and visualize, and that world is

The Importance Of The American Dream In The Great Gatsby
The American Dream: Is is fact or fiction? In the United States Declaration of Independence, our
founding fathers set forth the idea of an American Dream by providing us with the recognizable
phrase Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness . The green light at the end of Daisy Buchanan s
dock symbolizes Jay Gatsby s Pursuit of Happiness in the novel, The Great Gatsby, set in the 1920s on
Long Island, New York. The American Dream can be defined as the belief that anyone, regardless of
where they were born or what class they were born into, can attain their own version of success in a
society where upward mobility is possible for everyone. The American Dream is achieved through
sacrifice, risk taking, and hard work, not by chance (Fontinelle, Amy). At the birth of our country in
1776, our founding fathers introduced the American Dream as a personal desire to pursue happiness;
however, the pursuit of happiness was not intended to promote self indulgence, rather to act as a
catalyst to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit. As our country has changed, the idea of the American
Dream, in some cases, has evolved into the pursuit of one s own indulgences such as material gain
regardless of the consequences. As American broke away from the Great Britain powers, the idea of
an American Dream began to take shape. Written by our founding fathers in 1776, the Declaration of
Independence states We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they

Summary Of Federico Garcia Lorca s Blood Wedding
Federico García Lorca grew up in Fuente Vaqueros, Spain with a wealthy family in the middle of a
poverty stricken city. Lorca always felt out of place, wanting to help those less fortunate and he used
many of his experiences surrounding the money gap as an influence over his literature. Also, Federico
Garcia Lorca was an openly homosexual man during a time period when traditions and morals were
very rigidly followed. In correlation to Blood Wedding, Lorca and Leonardo live similar lifestyles in
terms of not following the social normalities and the internal conflicts they have with themselves.
Such as, Lorca being a homosexual man and Leonardo s inability to let go the Bride even though he is
a married man with a child. Yet, both are expected to be morally bound and consider their families
before anything else. Lorca challenges societal rules by exploring traditions, isolation, greed, and man
versus self in his literary work. Specifically, in the play, Blood Wedding, Lorca utilizes symbols and
minor characters to illustrate the ironic destruction of relationships due to traditions and moral
obligations. To begin, when the Bride and Bridegroom are under familial constraints their choice
between family and passion is illustrated by the playwright s placement of minor characters. For
example, at the beginning of the play the Bridegroom s mother expresses her need for revenge and
anger towards the Felix s by stating, My dead are under the weeds, they can t speak, they re

Why Do Chlorine Remains In A Pool
Introduction:
I chose this project because I am a competitive swimmer and I have been swimming for the past ten

I am interested to see how much residual chlorine is left and the range in which there appears skin
irritation and red eyes because I have experienced the red eyes and itchy skin due to over chlorination.
Chlorine is used in pools in either a gaseous or as sodium or calcium hypochlorite. The chlorine is
added to water to help prevent people from getting sick from disease producing microorganisms. The
chlorine that is added and reacts with the organic material and metals in the water is the chlorine

The Endings Of Sophocles Antigone
Although they are versions of the same play, the endings of Sophocles Antigone and Anne Carson s
Antigonick convey contrasting ideas of the power of fate, and its role in tragedy. In Antigone, fate is
described as an inevitable, insurmountable aspect of life that cannot be avoided. On the other hand,
Antigonick shows fate to be a malleable product which can be controlled by the decisions individuals
take in their lives. Through the role of the chorus, the addition of Nick, and the catharses of the
characters, Carson shows that fate is something which we can master. In both texts, the responsibility
of the chorus is to comment upon the play s proceedings, and to make key observations about the
characters actions. As Antigone is being paraded to her burial in Antigone, the chorus states, The
power of fate is a wonder,/ dark, terrible wonder / neither wealth nor armies/ towered walls nor ships/
black hulls lashed by the salt/ can save us from that force. (1045 1050) It emphasizes that fate is very
powerful, and that it is not within humans capacity to alter. Thus, Antigone and Creon are never
capable of influencing their own lives; they are not responsible for the tragedy that ensues, because
fate would have seen to it anyway. In contrast, the chorus in Antigonick says that it likes to find
precedents, pointing out that We re not at a loss how to think about this/ We re not without guidance.
The chorus states that Creon can avoid making the same mistakes

and persistence to make to and from our destination. Through paddling I have gotten move arm
strength, but most importantly I fought the struggle and made it to the island. All in all I used the
persist code battle the tiring activity called canoeing. It has taught me to work through difficult task,
no matter how much I want to quit. Although I had to push myself canoeing helped me expand on my
persistence to real world situation.
Another area of growth I ve experienced is public speaking. The most important thing we worked on
at Breakthrough was using your voice. This required confidence and the ability to be calm to be
understood by everyone . Through my 3 years of breakthrough, I have gotten

Application And Results Of Computers
Applications and Results
Computers uses collision detection to detect whether a shape is within the boundaries of another
shape. If the shape is within the boundaries of the other shape, a collision detection occurs. The reason
behind collision detection is to demonstrate the laws of Physics. For instance, since any objects cannot
phase each other, the computer must demonstrate that two objects must be separate from each other
and not within one another.

Applying Circle Collision Detection
The following JavaScript code in figure 8 applies the Circle Collision algorithm and checks if the two
circles are intersecting [4]. If there is an intersection that is present, the green circle will change
colors.
Figure 8. The following is a JavaScript code that detects collisions between two circles.
In figure 8, the codes var circle1 and var circle2 defines the elements of the circle and what color it
represents before and after the collision. First, the variable dx and dy calculates the x axis and the y
axis of the two circles plus its corresponding radius. Next, the variable distance uses the distance
formula to get the distance between the two circle. Afterwards, it uses a conditional statement to check
for a collision if the distance is less than the combined radius of the two circles. Thus, the circle is
green in figure 8 as there is a collision. Figure 9 demonstrates a result if there is no collision between

Diversity In The Workplace Essay
Diversity in the workplace, in terms of gender, race, and other factors, is helpful, necessary, and even
profitable, as shown by the four, black female engineers who accepted an award for the tech company
Slack for TechCrunch s fastest rising startup. No person s physical identity should affect whether they
get hired or not by an organization or business. In terms of getting hired, a person s gender or race
should not matter, as long as he or she has the right skills and tools for the job. In terms of running a
company and hiring a position of power, however, I do not believe that diversity should be the main
hiring factor. I believe the most qualified individual should get the job, regardless to if the company
has met its diversity quota.
I do believe that organizations and businesses should have quotas to meet in terms of how many
women they employ. I think it is important that companies are not discriminatory in their hiring
practices due to the gender of the applicant. Qualified applicants should be hired, regardless of if they
are male or female. It is disappointing that women, who have the same college degrees, job
experiences, work ethics, energy, and enthusiasm as men get paid $0.77 for every $1.00 a man makes,
according to LA Times writer Shan Li. Companies should not turn away female applicants too, for the
reason of their gender. A person s gender cannot be controlled, unlike an education, criminal record,
work experience, etc. However, I do not believe that

  • 2. Similarities Between Canada And Canada When it comes to certain qualities and attributes of the United States of America and Canada, many people residing elsewhere fail to tell the difference. The accents of people from certain parts of both countries, for instance, are so incredibly indistinguishable that they baffle any and everyone. Besides this one factor, they even share some comparable cultural characteristics, such as driving on the right side of the road and cherishing the same basic human rights to the utmost importance. Likewise, there are several similarities between multiple aspects of the countries respective governments, including within their individual established frameworks, political systems, and their divisions of authorities and duties. These could potentially point out a reason as to why Canada and the United States are immensely successful in their particular objectives, and are on their paths to achieving their long term goals with difficult to accomplish, yet beneficial visions. After all, they are both either on the way to becoming or currently are two of world s leading superpowers (Financial Post). However, there is not just one particular infallible way to rule a country and push it to further advancement simultaneously. In fact, each country works and functions differently, which is primarily due to individual background and history. Ultimately, although Canada and the United States of America are both nations that share similarities in various parts of their Constitutions, political ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Uk Referendum Essay The results of the 2016 UK referendum was a surprise to the rest of the world, but there are definitely factors that made this a predictable result. At first glance, one might assume that economics were the main contributing factor to the people s discontent of membership in the EU. But as I researched, I found that politics in the UK and the EU had a far greater impact on the feelings of Brits. However, some important economic factors still exist. The European Union s economy, despite being one of the largest in the world; very comparable to the size of the economy of the United States, does not provide a great benefit to the UK. Both the economies of the UK and of the EU are less than ideal for the respective nations, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Germany is, after the UK and possibly France, the most influential nation in the EU, its interests will be well represented and therefore the UK does not need to worry about their ease of trade with mainland Europe being hindered. Economically, the United Kingdom has nothing to lose, and everything to gain, by forfeiting their membership in the EU. As was mentioned earlier, as important as economics are to understanding this situation, their importance is nowhere near as fundamental to the outcome of the referendum as are the effects of modern European politics. The modern world has recently seen a sharp rise of populism. The citizens of today s first world nations do not trust their government and its politicians. Populism is The support for the concerns of ordinary people [10]. People distrust mainstream politicians that have history in federal government. A wonderful example of this new political tendency, other than the positive vote for brexit, is the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States of America. Midway through the election season a popular US news source predicted that Trump had less than a 5% chance of winning the election[11]. However, this source did not take into account the negative feelings of the American voting public toward mainstream politicians, such as Trump s opponent Hillary Clinton. • 4. Persuasive Essay On Conspiracy Theories The Internet has played a large role in my interest in conspiracy theories. Although I definitely do not believe all of them, they are fun to look into and are good tools for procrastination. Falling deeper into the hole that is Wikipedia, I spent a large amount of my free time researching them. It got to the point where I had to force myself to actually work on homework instead. However, I am not one of those crazy conspiracy theorists; I am only interested in ones that seem legit. All interesting conspiracy theories have similar qualities. A majority of them involve the government or celebrities. And depending on the theory, they are believable. My personal favorites all happen to involve the government, some classics included. It is said that 9/11 was an inside job perpetrated by Bush to purposely start a war with Afghanistan. Some survivors recall that they heard separate explosions at the time of the attacks, which has led people to believe that there were pre planted explosives inside the Twin Towers. It is a well known fact that the towers collapsed at one point, but this is seen as suspicious to many conspiracy theorists. A common known phrase among believers is jet fuel can t melt steel beams. Another widely believed theory is that the Royal Family killed Princess Diana. There are a few versions, one of which is that they killed her to prevent her from exposing the Family for being awful and corrupt. The other is where she was killed for loving a man of color, ... • 5. The Fashion Field As A Global Phenomenon Chapter II 1. Introduction In times where fashion is perceived as a global phenomenon, it seems easier than ever for people to follow, consume and produce fashion from anywhere at any point of time. Media is spreading what s hot and what s not within seconds all over the globe. A closer look at the mechanisms of the creation of fashion from a practical and theoretical angel sheds light on the well guarded boarders of this so called fashion democracy. Who decides the content of fashion? A simple answer given, collectively repeated by those involved in the creation of fashion is talent. Without talent and the right intuition fashion cannot arise and prosper. In this essay a will give a brief outline of the fashion field, following the theoretical approach and terminology of Pierre Bourdieu, and its structure which sets the limits to the democratic fashion by unequally producing and distributing fashion talent. The resulting global disproportion of so called talent is visible in the excessive attention New York, Paris and London receive as fashion gatekeepers. Dubai, with its eyes set on 2020 to become the most prestigious fashion capital of the world, struggles to compete with those giants. Hence, it applies a subversive strategy by building a fashion education system to equip its very own local talent with the skills to advance in the global fashion market. The effectiveness and constrains of this strategy I will examine on the following pages and give a prospect of how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American Sign Language (ASL) has been the main way the deaf communicate and is extremely important to the deaf culture. To those that can hear, being deaf or profoundly hard of hearing has been considered a handicap. It was for that reason that someone invented the cochlear implant, causing a huge debate within the deaf community. Some of those in the deaf community fear that their culture will be lost and destroyed, while others and the hearing community believe that it will better their lives. Most do not realize that this procedure is not a cure and that it will leave those with the implants confused as to where they belong in society. There are quite a few who believe the cochlear implants work just like the hearing aid, only implanted in their head. However, there are significant differences between the two. Cochlear implants do not restore normal hearing, whereas the use of hearing aids can bring it close to normal. Hearing aids send amplified sound to the damaged cochlea, and can be programmed to shape amplification of sound to match the hearing loss. The reasons for that are obvious, you can t just kill anyone out in the obvious. The first difference in the movie experience would be costs. As all people today know, entertainment can be a costly expense. For example, a family of three at a local AMC in Florida can expect to pay around $29.02 with tax included for two adult tickets, and an additional $11.33 if their child happens to be under the age of 12. Keep in mind this is not the price for a 3D film or an IMAX showing; that would be a few extra dollars (AMC Ticket Prices Movie Theater Prices). Now that the admission is paid for, it s time to head to the concession stand and get the family snacks. In efforts to keep the nightly costs reasonable, a small drink and small popcorn for one will cost $8.98, so for three people it would be a total of $26.94. Finally, add an additional $5 for the family s round trip gas expense, and the nightly total comes to $72.29 (Delgado). On the other hand, for the family that loves to watch movies, but wants to view those in the comfort of their own home can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While their ideas and desires were relatively the same, their rise to power and their consolidation of said power have significant and notable differences. While Franco went on to rule Spain until his death in 1975, both dictators had been in power at the same time, and with their similar ideas had formed a cordial relationship. Hitler and Franco both wanted the same thing: unity in their country, and total rule. In order to do this, they established one party rules (Nazi and Falange) and began their rise to power. Along the way one may encounter many teachers that can guide us along several different paths while telling us what they think is right or wrong. They offer us guidance and assistance, but still yet one makes his or her own decisions. Clearly portrayed in the German novella Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse, we can easily point out the importance of teachers in ones life and how they can simply guide us and lead us to finding our Self. Since Siddharatha is searching for a permanent answer, he cannot follow the Samanas. Thus, this leads to his next spiritual guide, Gotama. In addition to Siddharthas many teachers, he meets an enlightened fellow named Gotama. Gotama seems to radiate pure enlightenment. His teachings include Buddhism s Eightfold Path, the Fourfold Way, and other aspects of Buddhism, as well as many practices similar to those of the Samanas. Siddhartha soon dedicates himself to these teachings. As seen in the text, Gotama talked about suffering, the origin of suffering, the way to release from suffering. Life was pain, the world was full of suffering, but the page to release from suffering had been found. There was salvation for those who went the way of the Buddha. (page 29) Siddhartha indeed believed that Gotama held the key that unlocked his own personal enlightenment because Gotama in turn was enlightened himself. Another example on how Gotama led Siddhartha to further advance the discovery of himself was when Siddhartha unexpectedly meets Gotama in the grove and he speaks to him about his doctrine, praising his victory in finding the unbroken chain of being, of cause and effect. Essay about Baldwin s Writing Style in Notes to a Native Son Father and Son: Bad to Regrettable James Baldwin is known to be one of the best essay writers in the twentieth century who wrote on a few topics including race, discrimination, sexuality and most of all his personal experiences. In Notes of a Native Son , he uses two main strategies to get his point across. First, he likes to tell a story in a narrative view. Following is normally his analysis of the event. He describes the event and then gives his theory on the matter. By doing this, he grants the reader a chance to decipher the meaning. His interpretation may not be what the reader s is. The essay goes into great detail of his relationship with his father. He describes his father as cruel (65), bitter (65), and beautiful (64). He does mention the bad in length. On the flip side, he tells us some of the good as well. Throughout his storytelling, the reader gets a glimpse into his life and the way he feels. His feelings evolve during the extent of the essay. In the stories he tells, the word hate appears quite frequently. It is sometimes used about his father. I saw nothing very clearly but I did see this: that my life, my real life, was in danger, and not from anything other people might do but from the hatred I carried in my own heart. (72) This hatred he talks about exists towards his father. Other factors contribute too, but are not as often told. The death had aroused feelings inside Baldwin that he felt he needed to get out. These needs are known as the following: Energy, vitamins, and similar compounds. Escherichia Coli is found everywhere! Escherichia Coli, or E. In the United States Declaration of Independence, our founding fathers set forth the idea of an American Dream by providing us with the recognizable phrase Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness . The green light at the end of Daisy Buchanan s dock symbolizes Jay Gatsby s Pursuit of Happiness in the novel, The Great Gatsby, set in the 1920s on Long Island, New York. The American Dream can be defined as the belief that anyone, regardless of where they were born or what class they were born into, can attain their own version of success in a society where upward mobility is possible for everyone. The American Dream is achieved through sacrifice, risk taking, and hard work, not by chance (Fontinelle, Amy). At the birth of our country in 1776, our founding fathers introduced the American Dream as a personal desire to pursue happiness; however, the pursuit of happiness was not intended to promote self indulgence, rather to act as a catalyst to encourage an entrepreneurial spirit. As our country has changed, the idea of the American Dream, in some cases, has evolved into the pursuit of one s own indulgences such as material gain regardless of the consequences. Lorca always felt out of place, wanting to help those less fortunate and he used many of his experiences surrounding the money gap as an influence over his literature. Also, Federico Garcia Lorca was an openly homosexual man during a time period when traditions and morals were very rigidly followed. In correlation to Blood Wedding, Lorca and Leonardo live similar lifestyles in terms of not following the social normalities and the internal conflicts they have with themselves. Such as, Lorca being a homosexual man and Leonardo s inability to let go the Bride even though he is a married man with a child. Yet, both are expected to be morally bound and consider their families before anything else. Lorca challenges societal rules by exploring traditions, isolation, greed, and man versus self in his literary work. Specifically, in the play, Blood Wedding, Lorca utilizes symbols and minor characters to illustrate the ironic destruction of relationships due to traditions and moral obligations. To begin, when the Bride and Bridegroom are under familial constraints their choice between family and passion is illustrated by the playwright s placement of minor characters. • 41. The Endings Of Sophocles Antigone Although they are versions of the same play, the endings of Sophocles Antigone and Anne Carson s Antigonick convey contrasting ideas of the power of fate, and its role in tragedy. In Antigone, fate is described as an inevitable, insurmountable aspect of life that cannot be avoided. On the other hand, Antigonick shows fate to be a malleable product which can be controlled by the decisions individuals take in their lives. Through the role of the chorus, the addition of Nick, and the catharses of the characters, Carson shows that fate is something which we can master. In both texts, the responsibility of the chorus is to comment upon the play s proceedings, and to make key observations about the characters actions. As Antigone is being paraded to her burial in Antigone, the chorus states, The power of fate is a wonder,/ dark, terrible wonder / neither wealth nor armies/ towered walls nor ships/ black hulls lashed by the salt/ can save us from that force. (1045 1050) It emphasizes that fate is very powerful, and that it is not within humans capacity to alter. Thus, Antigone and Creon are never capable of influencing their own lives; they are not responsible for the tragedy that ensues, because fate would have seen to it anyway. In contrast, the chorus in Antigonick says that it likes to find precedents, pointing out that We re not at a loss how to think about this/ We re not without guidance. In terms of getting hired, a person s gender or race should not matter, as long as he or she has the right skills and tools for the job. In terms of running a company and hiring a position of power, however, I do not believe that diversity should be the main hiring factor.
