Short film

• The reason that I have decided not to do a short film is because the time to do the short
film it wouldn’t look up to standard and also I would run out of ideas. The other reason I
decided to not do the film is because that it was recommended to not do a short film as we
may not have had the sufficient amount of time to complete it so I didn't do the short film.
One other reason didn't do the short film was because in my previous project when we had
to create a short film, I wasn't happy with the way that my short product looked so I
thought it would probably be best if I didn't do this particular area for my final project. I
also didn’t think it was necessary to take the risk and do a film project as it would take a
long time and there would be a lot more risks in the creation of the project some things
may go wrong.
• The reason I didn’t want to do this idea as I couldn’t get the resources in order to
make the case and I have also noticed a decline in the way that CD’s are purchased
so I thought I would do a vinyl cover as they seem to be coming back and more
people seem to be purchasing Vinyl covers than CD’s. One other reason I decided
not to make this product is because I find that most CD case designs lack a certain
art which vinyl covers do have and they aren’t so much a collectable item within the
music industry. The final reason why I decided not doing this idea is that the theme
of my whole project is aimed at the late 80s so I feel that CD’s are irrelevant in this
area.

Planning/Production Issues • There is no real issues with the planning/ Production of the products just a few minor
changes needed in order to match the products. A specific change which was made is that
my front cover has brighter colours on the front so that it is easier for my audience to see
and so that it contrasts with specific colours. This makes my product look like an existing
product so that it isn't entirely different and that would make it compete with all the other big
magazines which are already successful.
What do you plan to make? • The products which I plan to make are a magazine cover, double page spread and Vinyl
cover. I have chosen to create these products because my influences revolve around
music and I think that graphics is my strongest production task I have learnt throughout the
year. The reason I have chosen to make these products is because they’re all music
• I have chosen to do these products because I feel that these are the most unique products to
choose from and they will demonstrate the best of my ability. I have also chosen to do these
products as when we did our graphic design project I was impressed with my final project so I felt
it would be best if I do my project on something which shows my strengths. The reason i decided
to make my project music related was because my main influences revolve around music. I also
chose to do this project as on the print base project I Thoroughly enjoyed the project and it was
something that I would like to do in the near future.
• The changes which have been made for the initial plans are that the whole concept of the product looks
slightly different in terms of where certain things are on the product. For example there may have been a
cover line just next to the Image on the left hand side, it has been changed in order for it to follow
professional conventions. The changes which I have also made is that I have added more colours to the ones
I have chosen just so I have more of an idea and so I can have a new idea of what to add into the magazine if
the colours I originally chose didn’t work out.
• I think that I fulfilled all the requirements of the brief by making the product within the age
range which was aimed at 16-19 year olds I also think my product Aimed at the requirements
of the brief as the whole point of the Final major project was to create anything from the list
you have been given to make for example a magazine, cd case Film or photography. I also
think that my product meets the requirements as it contains content which would also
interest a secondary audience.
