Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Student Name and Number:

Project proposal title and date:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Main area of activity:
I will mainly be working in graphic design and photography
Rationale: 150 words approx.
Review your progress throughout the 2 years- what products have you made and what skills and
knowledge have you acquired? How will you use those skills?
What was your previous, similar production and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Throughout the past two years I have made a travel magazine, photography fanzine and a client
product talking about the Aesthetica film festival in York. Throughout these years I have greatly
improved my photography skills, photoshop and lightroom skills. For example, I have learnt how to
make certain colours on my photos stand out more than others, I know how to make different types
of illusions from my photos such as the kaleidoscope idea and the idea where I turned my photo
into a 3D image, I now know a lot more about the 3D tools that are on photoshop. I have also learnt
a wide verity of tools on lightroom as well as what times of day is the best to take photographs and
certain locations where I will be able to get some great photos for my final product, which will not
only help to make my images more visually appealing to my target audience but will help to make
my photography look more professional (all locations that I take my photographs will be put on my
website gallery page) I will use these skills to get more visually appealing photos, make unique
work that stands out on the market place and to make a professional looking product to help make
my work more appealing to my target audience. However, for this product I will have a much larger
text to picture ratio then my other products because I have more production time to create a much
more detailed peace of work. Having this extra time will also mean that I have more time to get a
larger variety of photos for my product however I will be mainly sticking to rural types of images like
I have in my past products.
Project Concept: 200 words approx.
What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project?
Topics- I am planning to make a book talking about all the aspects of photography that you need to
know and that you can get involved in. My product will include a camera equipment review, a
section that talks about the photography industry and how you can get a career in photography, a
section talking about famous photographers, their personal view on photography and what they did
to get into their certain industry. I will also have a section talking about adobe photoshop and
lightroom with a few quick tutorials to give my audience some new skills that most people will not
know. Although a large portion of my book will be images of my photography to show my audience
different types of techniques you can use when taking photos. Finally, I will be making my own
photography event to advertise in my product, this will include a floor plan layout and I will make a
working website on WIX so that the advertisement in my product actually leads to a professional
website.
Design- I will be making a book with a modern type of design. I will do this by using a matte colour
scheme because the dark bold colour scheme, sharp and glass looking type of design and pattern

layout will help to add to the modern theme. I will do this by using kaleidoscope patterns that I have
made myself like I did in my past products. I will also make sure to use an even picture to text ratio
throughout my magazine so that my target audience doesn’t get overwhelmed by the large amount
of information and don’t lose interest in my product.
Research- I will research existing photography events to look at what types of floor plans they have
as well as what topics they talk about and the type of design the existing event has. I will also
research different matte colour schemes that will match the photos that I’m going to use once I
decide what photos that I want to use. I will collect all my photos in the space of a week while also
making my product so that I don’t take too much time away from my production.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed: 150 words approx.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
