Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Audio - reflection
- 2. Process This is the intro and the outro to my podcast that are around about 10 seconds long. Both the intro and the outro are royalty free music which is better than using copyright music and getting copyright issues. Finding the music was the hardest part of both the intro and the outro. I wanted to find the right music to start the radio talk show. I searched royalty free music into YouTube and found the music I have used in my product. One of them is definitely royalty free, however the other I’m not sure about. If I was to improve my intro and outro it would be to add something about football included like a montage. For example I would include a famous commentating moment that would make the introduction feel professional.
- 3. Process This is my intro music that I chose from a variety of music of YouTube. I searched royalty free music and found a decent introduction song to my podcast. For the intro I made the volume similar to the main audio clip in- between both the intro and the outro. The yellow lines on the bottom picture are lines that make the music fade in and out when needed to. So this is at the start of my podcast and slightly fades in and the music fades out when I’m about to speak. I wouldn’t make any improvements because I think the intro is fine and doesn’t need anything adding to it.
- 4. Process This is the outro music that I yet again chose from a variety of music. The outro compared to the intro is a lot quieter because (in my opinion) I think it’s better to lower the music a little bit so it’s a calm ending to the podcast and the audience aren’t getting a loud outro that will surprise them. The picture at the bottom shows the royalty free music with some yellow lines. Those yellow lines make the music fade in and fade out which is good for beginning and ending a podcast. If I was to make improvements I would do the same with the intro and add football related sound effects and stuff like that to make it a professional football podcast.
- 5. Process This is the full recording of my radio podcast that lasts approximately 6 minutes long (without intro and outro). I doubled-clicked on the audio to make it louder for the audience to hear. I had to increase the volume because it was a bit quite normally. I sounds a lot better being louder and being able to hear every word. I feel like my recording was spot on perfect. Me and my guest did previous test runs before and we made mistakes, however in this one there was no mistakes which I’m proud about. Improvements wise, I wouldn’t change anything because everything went according to plan. I set different times to move onto different subjects which I did pretty well.
- 6. Process This is the finished product. It’s 6 minutes 21 seconds long and has both an intro and an outro. I made all parts of the audio louder so it’s easier to hear for my audience listeners, except for the music which I lowered. I think my overall product is really good because when me and my guest recorded before hand we made mistakes. However when it came to the actual recording it went perfectly and didn’t have to edit anything out, which you really shouldn’t on a live show. If I was to improve my product I would maybe add music in the background of the podcast. However in my opinion talk shows especially about football don’t need any background music it could be known as a distraction.
