Research
• The existing product research helped my product as I had the chance to research
other products that are similar to the one I made. This helped me as it gave me
ideas about what to talk about, also it gave me an idea of what sort of background
music and side effects I used.
• A weakness of this is that from using similar existing podcasts is that I cant have
my podcast the same as the ones I have looked at, so I have to think of my own
sound effects and think what I'm going to say by myself.
Planning
• In my planning I created a smaller podcast about what my mornings are like. This
helped me as it gave me some experience of creating a podcast before I made the
real thing. I also used background music and sound effects in the smaller podcast,
like I did in the real thing.
• A weakness of this is that the subject of the smaller podcast I created didn’t relate
to the subject of the final podcast at all, so I was talking about something
completely different in the main one. Also the background music and the sound
effects had to be different to the other podcast.
Time Management
• I believe I have managed my time well as I finished my podcast in time but some of
the PowerPoint’s after the podcast have slowed me down. With additional time I
would be able to improve my podcast by adding more sound effects to add more
detail to the podcast. Also with more time I would have had more time to plan my
podcast so I could of talked about more things.
Target Audience Appeal
• I have aimed my product at lower/middle class Male and Females aged 16+ who
are interested in the subject that I have made my podcast about. This will appeal
to my target audience because most UFC athletes come from lower class/middle
class areas.
Technical Qualities
A difference of both
podcasts is that the
podcast I created has
background music and
the Joe Rogan Podcast
doesn’t.
Another difference is that
the Joe Rogan podcast
has visuals so you can see
him talking and in my
UFC podcast you can only
hear me.
Finally in Joe Rogan’s
podcast he is talking to
another person who is
with him during the
podcast whereas I'm just
talking to the listeners.
A similarity between
mine and Joe Rogan’s
podcast is that both
of the podcasts are
based on the same
subject.
Another similarity is
that Joe Rogan speaks
about what he thinks
on the situation that
he is talking about
and also mentions
some facts and that is
the same as what I do
on my UFC podcast.
Aural Qualities
• I think that my podcast does sound good but it is a bit quiet so I had to turn my
voice up and the music down. I like how I used a sound effect to start off my
podcast so I grab the audience’s attention. Also the background music sets the
scene more as it is a UFC themed song.
• A weakness is that in some parts my voice is quiet because of the music but some
parts my voice is really clear over the music.
Audience Appeal
The Background music appeals to my target audience as it is UFC themed it also
adds more to the background of my podcast which makes it sound less plain. Also
the sound effects go along with the background music so it doesn’t sound out of
time. The sound effects I have chosen are related to everything I am talking about
to do with the UFC.

Feedback
Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how there was a sound effect at the start of the podcast, it grabs
your attention instantly before the podcast starts.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– At some parts the voice clip sounds quiet over the music, so you could
of turned the voice clip volume up and the background music down.
Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how the Background music goes all the way through the podcast
until the end when the voice clip finishes.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could of added more sound effects over the voice clip to make the
podcast funny.
Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I like how there are sound effects in the background music and they
also go along with what you are discussing.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– You could of added more music instead of just one background song
playing through the podcast.
Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I agree that the sound effect at the beginning of the podcast attracts
the audiences attention before the voice clip starts.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– I couldn’t turn my voice clip any louder because when I recorded it, it
recorded quietly and I turned the volume to max.
Peer Feedback Summary
I would add more sound effects to split up my podcast in sections so when
I go on to talk about a new topic it splits it into sections. Another reason
why I would add more sound effects is to make it more humorous so it
keeps the audiences attention.
