2. Process
The first picture is of a cat, my own pet cat. The location of this picture is in
my garden in a cat house and is perfect for my project. It’s good because
having pets is easier than getting another animal randomly. Anyway, I used
the camera normally without changing any settings, but have edited the
photo slightly on Photoshop. I made the picture brighter and blurred out
some of the background. I made the cat look brighter because it’s in the
shade and blurred out the black and the white colors in the background. The
blur tool is an effect called rack focus that blurs out parts of the picture that
don’t need to be focused on. I also turned up the contrast in this photo to
bring out the brightness and colors a bit more. The framing of this photo is
good, the cat is positioned in the center of the picture which is good for a
photo aimed at animals. In my opinion animals need to be at most be in the
center part of the picture to fill in the gaps that aren’t needed. The angle is
from the side when the cat is looking away, this makes it look good and show
all of the cats features. The main parts I edited was the cat’s face and the
background. I blurred out everything except the cats face to make it stand
out. When I blurred out everything besides the face I made it brighter with
the dodge tool because it was slightly dark. All the tools such as the dodge
tool and the blur tool helped me edit my photos to a high standard and have
them the way I want them.
My own opinion on this photo is that it’s a good photo, a good close up
photo. Because it’s my own picture of my cat my thoughts are that it’s good
and it could be a picture that could be framed or hung up. It’s a good quality
picture with decent lighting to make it work. I think I timed the shot perfectly
because the cat is at a good angle and is looking away. I wouldn’t change
anything about the picture because it looks perfect and I used the things
from my style sheet. Things such as the text in the bottom right corner and
the colors. I haven’t used the main colors of blue and green, but those colors
will come in a future photo.

3. Process
The second picture is of the same cat, but indoors. It is my cat which makes
it easier for me to get photos and edit them. With the camera I didn’t change
the settings, however the setting of this photo is dark so I turned the
brightness up with the upcoming effects. I haven’t edited too much, I’ve
slightly blurred out the background to mainly focus on the cat’s face which is
the main part of the picture. Blurring something out is an effect called rack
focus which I use in majority of my photos that I take. The brightness has
increased by using the dodge tool. I’ve brightened up the cats face and that
only to show that the other parts of the picture don’t matter and that the cat
is the main thing to look at. I also turned up the contrast slightly to bring out
the brightness and features a bit more. All these tools have been used on the
software Photoshop and helped me edit the photo to what it looks like now.
The framing in this picture is slightly different to the first one, the positioning
of the cat is slightly to the left and not in the middle. This doesn’t matter,
however the cushion on the right side has no part of the photo so in farness
it could be cropped out if needed. Anyway it’s still a good photo which shows
the cats face off pretty well. The location is different as well, being inside
instead of outside from the first photo. Hopefully I can get different locations
for each photo I take whether it's inside, outside or a different view point.
My own opinion on this photo is that it’s pretty decent quality except from
the top section which is slightly fuzzy but I’m not too bothered because it
has the effect rack focus on it which makes it blur out and look like it’s
blurred out instead of just being fuzzy. The rest of the photo is good, the
brightness on the cats face for me is a good change because it brightens up
the image a bit more. From the photo alone the only think I would change if I
could would be the fuzzy bit at the top without editing it out. The brightness
and blur tools have helped that part of the picture out by getting rid of the
fuzziness.
