2. Process
• The first step I took into making my
magazine cover was choose the boxer
who I wanted to feature on the front
page, I chose Deontay wilder because he
has had a really good fight in the past few
weeks, when I found this image of
Deontay I proceeded to remove the
background and trim the image using the
eraser and lasso tool.
• The second step I took when creating my
magazine cover was choosing my
background to go behind my chosen
boxer, I decided to just go for a normal
picture that was taken from the inside of
the boxing ring because I feel it would
match a boxing magazine really well.
3. Process
• For the third step of my boxing magazine
I then created the main text for the front
cover (boxing legends) I replaced the
letter “I” with legends rotated 90 degrees
anticlockwise, I also decided to add a
concrete texture to the font by using the
mask option, this gives more detail and
creativity to my logo.
• For the fourth step of making my
magazine cover I then added another
piece of text (devastating knockout) I
copied the same effects from my main
text (boxing legends) onto this one but I
also added another mask effect of a
picture of a blood splatter, this is a
metaphorical effect to show his latest
knockout is as devastating as people say.
4. Process
• The fifth step to creating my
magazine cover was adding in
some quotes from the fighter, I
also added in some fight news
from some different fighters. I did
this because I did not want my
magazine to just be a photo of a
boxer in front of a boxing ring
background, I wanted more detail
to it.
• I also added a article headline at
the top of my page (worst
performance) this was because I
was not really impressed with this
boxers performance in his last
fight so I wanted to write about it
and add more to the cover with a
photo of this boxer who I am
talking about (Tyson fury).
6. Process
• For my magazine double page spread I chose to focus on two boxers separate from the boxer
on the front cover of my the first page of my double spread and the other half I went back to
Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury, I chose to talk about the rematch between Andy Ruiz and
Anthony Joshua on the first page.
• To start my double spread I used the ruler tool to find my exact halfway line on the page to
split it into two pages, I then coloured half of my page white and kept the other half red.
• I then went to images and found a photo of Andy Ruiz and Joshua, I put this photo on the top
of the first page with the title with an overlay underneath it. I then went to my researched
notes with my written articles in them into the double spread, I covered each article in a red
box with the text white so it matches the style of the pages.
• For my second page on my double spread which is about Fury Vs Wilder I then again
downloaded a photo and placed it at the bottom of the second page with the titles above it. I
then went back to my researched notes and got my written articles about this fight and
inserted them above the picture, I decided to colour the text black instead of white because
the text on the previous page is white and I want to mix as much with the colours as much as
I can.
• For my header titles for my articles it is blended with a picture of a boxing ring, for this I
downloaded a picture of a boxing arena on images and placed a mask over it to make it go
underneath the text.
