2. Film & Media
β’ I have chosen the film and media industry because the type of job I want in
the future is to be a video editor, a filter or a director. I have also chosen this
industry because of all of the creative media formats the one format that
attracts me the most is Film production. Film production attracts me the
most because of the freedom it gives you to create whatever you want to.
The elements it includes are really fascinating such as camera movement,
camera angles, colour grading & CGI. The skill that I need to work in the
Film and media industry is team work most importantly. I feel it is important
to be able to work well with a team of people because you can not create an
entire film by yourself and if youβre not comfortable working in a large team
it could lead to disruption and arguments within the work place which could
have a huge negative effect on the project you are creating. Organisation is
also important because you should be able to organise the equipment you
need to create your product and to also be able to plan everything
efficiently. The film industry can also be a very competitive industry to work
within because film producers are always looking to get the best workers
into making their movie or tv show, the more experience you have the
higher your chances of finding work is. From this I have learned that I need
to get the best qualifications I can to get the best chance of finding a job
within the Film & Media Industry. The more skills I gain the better I will be. I
will also need to work in other small projects along the road to build up a
portfolio to prove to producers I have what it takes to work on a movie or tv
show set as either a video editor or a cameraman.
