Introduce material here… Remember, each case study must have the headings listed below and must be answered according to assignment instructions; each heading is worth a percentage of each case grade and this is how your work should be submitted. Your audience is someone like your roommate – intelligent, educated, but has NO IDEA what the case study is about. In this section, you will give a very brief overview of your company.
This section is generally one paragraph. The easiest way to explain this section is to think of it like an abstract or introduction. If written properly, this section can actually serve as the abstract for the paper. It will, in a sense, set up the rest of the paper, which is the review of the case, analysis, recommendations, and the summary and conclusions sections. Remember that you obtained this information from the textbook. Consequently, you should cite Schwalbe (2016). You should NOT write “According to the textbook” as your reader has NO IDEA who or what is that.
If there is a second paragraph, it will look like this. The paper should be written in third person narrative and not in the first person. Note: The required headings that must be in the paper are bolded and should be kept bolded. One other note: a business is an “it,” not a “they.” Remember that when you use pronouns describing a business.

This week, we have learned in Chapter 4 of the textbook about forochellwa9f
This week, we have learned in Chapter 4 of the textbook about four different types of informative speaking: speeches about objects, speeches about processes, speeches about events, speeches about concepts. After reading about the types of speeches, think about a speech that you have heard that fits the description of one of these types of speeches. The speech may have been heard on television or radio, on the Internet, or in-person. In the post, be sure to respond to each of the following (for discussion post only – not for use as speech outline):
What was the type of informative speaking used in the speech you selected?
How would you describe the type of informative speaking used in your own words?
What was the most appealing part of this type of informative speaking?
What was the least appealing aspect of this type of informative speaking?
What would you have done differently as the speaker?
Your initial post should be at least 250 words in length. Support your claims with examples from the required material(s) and/or other scholarly resources, and properly cite any references according to APA formatting as outlined in the Ashford Writing Center.

Title of the Paper
Students in the College of Business often want to know how to set up their academic papers to make them look professional and to provide ease of reading. This is an electronic sample for academic papers written at WGU that contain references and citations that align with the “Big 4” (Author, date of publication, title of resource, and source or retrieval location). The sample paper also includes an optional cover page and table of contents. The purpose of the sample paper is two-fold: (1) to help students set recommended margins and spacing and (2) to provide examples of reference list entries and corresponding in-text citations for paraphrased, summarized, and directly quoted information from those sources.
For ease of readability and professional appearance, this paragraph provides several recommendations for formatting. The margins of academic papers are generally set at 1 inch, and each new paragraph usually begins with a half-inch indent. The lines are usually double-spaced throughout the paper, even on the reference page. The font size and style choices are also selected based on ease of readability. For instance, the font used in this sample paper is Times New Roman, and the font size is 12. Consistency throughout the paper is important, so make sure to use the same margins, line spacing, and font type and size for the entire paper.
To ensure that source information for all quoted, paraphrased, and summarized content is accurately and completely acknowledged, a variety of examples are given both on the reference page and within the narrative of this sample paper that include the author, date, title, and location of the referenced material. Here is an example of how to cite information from a WGU-required resource. The CliftonStrengths assessment provides a report of individual signature themes or traits. Intellection is one theme identified by the assessment (Gallup, Inc., n.d.). On the reference list for the Gallup source, the words “Student Name” should be replaced by the actual name of the student writer, as that is included in the title of the student’s signature themes report. The student should also provide a direct link (URL) to his or her actual signature themes document following the words “Available from” for the Gallup source. The following sentence provides an example of an in-text citation for information summarized from a general webpage that has no specific date of publication. Salesforce (n.d.) describes how its company helps a business manage its client interactions and relationships. .

NURS 6052 – Essentials of Evidence-Based Practice
Week 3 Initial Discussion Post
The Role of Theoretical Frameworks in Research
Research is a process of evaluating a concept or theory concerning a specific subject. Analysis of a theory includes examining the behaviors and characteristics of people and how they interact with biological, interpersonal, and environmental factors (Polit & Beck, 2017). Every theory attempts to explain phenomena and how they are related to a specific purpose. Valid research uses a theory or model as the building blocks. Nursing theory relies on models to define what nursing is and the processes involved in providing care (Polit & Beck, 2017). In this post, I will examine a research example that has adopted different theories and models to design, implement, and evaluate health promotion efforts (Joseph, Daniel, Thind, Benitez, & Pekmezi, 2016).
Research Review
Finding research related to nursing theories and models was an easy task. Many fundamental nursing policies and procedures are founded on either a theory or a model. For this paper review, I chose the transtheoretical model which states that “transition from one stage of change to the next are affected by processes of change” (Polit & Beck, 2017, p. 124). The research paper was focused on reviewing numerous theories used to assess long-term maintenance of physical activity, weight loss, and smoking cessation (Joseph et al., 2016). Within this research, the authors referenced five prominent behavioral theories which are self-determination theory, the theory of planned behavior, social cognitive theory, transtheoretical model, and the social ecological model (Joseph et al., 2016). The paper excluded studies that referenced cognitive behavioral therapy used for intervention. PubMed and PsycINFO were used with relevant search terms and Boolean operators. Each article was then reviewed by three different reviewers.
Transtheoretical Model
In this article, the transtheoretical model (TTM) was used to define and recognize behavioral change through natural processes. The total number of participants was 20,645 with over 65% of participants being female with a mean age of 49.9 years (Joseph et al., 2016). TTM is a combination of behavior change theories and psychotherapy (Joseph et al., 2016). TTM presumes people move through the five stages of behavioral change which are precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance in a cyclical manner instead of a linear route (Joseph et al., 2016). Often participants in the study found themselves making progress with physical activity, weight loss, and smoking cessation only to regress creating a cycle of one step ahead and two steps back(Joseph et al., 2016). Relapse is a common occurrence with TTM for new patients and long-term patients. Maintaining the stage of change can be challenging due to intrinsic and extrinsic.
Chapter:
Chapter 1 - Defining Terrorism
Article Title:
“Terrorism”
Chapter 1 of the text goes into much detail about defining terrorism and the types of terrorism.
What exactly constitutes terrorism and why does it seem so complicated to define? This article
from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI, 2021) defines terrorism as a "contested term, with
no set definition for the concept or broad agreement among academic experts on its usage "
(para. 1). Is it really that difficult to define? It’s a word and as such it should just be in any old
dictionary or textbook glossary and boom there's the definition. Is it more complicated than that?
To answer my own question, yes, it is very complicated. But at least I’m not alone in the
complicatedness of defining terrorism as it seems like the FBI is having problems too. The article
notes that “the recent spate of extremist attacks in the United States and Europe have highlighted
the difficulty of defining what constitutes ‘terrorism’” (FBI, 2021, para. 2). Here, The FBI
focuses on recent examples extremism to attempt to answer the question, even giving the readers
an account of some of the recent terroristic attacks and how the relate to terrorism and
extremism. By the end of the article the question remains unclear and unanswered, making this
task of defining terrorism that much more confusing.
The pro of this article is that there were some real-world examples. These help show the
complicated nature of defining terrorism.
The article would have been more interesting if there were some frontline details, like the
definition from the FBI’s perspective, especially given it’s the leading legal enforcement
mechanism in the country.

Unit 3: Synthesis Project
You will be creating an AP Exam Synthesis Question. The Synthesis Question gives you several sources and asks you to combine (synthesize) them with your own thoughts to create a cohesive essay. This is the same goal as a research paper. Your question (prompt) and sources should be formatted, labeled, and presented as on the AP Lang Exam. This will be modeled after the ones in the sample packets you were given.
Source Requirements:
· 8 sources
· No sources older than 10 years
· At least two sources published within the last two years (2020, 2021, 2022)
· Provide 1-2 sources that are images (political cartoons, graphs, charts, etc.)
· Sources should demonstrate a range of positions and approaches to the topic. Your goal is to figure out what 2-3 of the main “sides” are in the debate around the issue and represent those sides fairly.
Research Resources:
· Use this
link to access academic databases through CPS and Lane.
Example topics:
· Security vs Privacy: Personal Rights
· Standardized Education Movement
· Parenting Styles of the 21st Century
· Why Movements Matter: Voices of the People
· Technology’s Impact on American Families
Project Requirements:
Include, neatly formatted in one document
· Prompt page with directions, introduction, and assignment
· 6 sources
·
MLA citation of each source
· 3 potential thesis statements for this essay
a. One that is open
b. One that is closed
c. One that is a counter argument thesis.
· Choose one thesis statement, and create an outline of a response to ensure that others can synthesize these sources.
The most effective Synthesis Prompts give the test-takers a wide variety of sources to consider. These sources are of various types, lengths, and opinions. This diversity allows each test-taker to choose their own individual approach to the assignment while providing them with the tools to adequately synthesize into their paper.
You are going to choose EIGHT sources specific to your assigned topic. This will ensure that your group will be providing sources that show the complexity of the issue.
Therefore, when choosing your sources, keep several guidelines in mind:
1. Choose sources that cover a variety of viewpoints on your assigned topic, making sure to keep the sides evenly represented.
2. Choose sources from a wide variety of locations and formats. Use the list below as guidance; it is certainly not all-inclusive. Requirements are in CAPITAL letters. Beyond those required types, you may choose the rest of your sources at your discretion.

PHI 2604 CREATING YOUR OUTLINE
A good practice before you write your paper is to create an outline. This should include 1) your thesis statement (main argument), 2) an outline and 3) a works cited page.
Follow the MLA style unless otherwise clarified with the professor.
The outline should be more detailed than just noting a) Introduction, b) argument, c) conclusion. This is too superficial to be helpful for you. Instead consider the main concepts that you will explain, or the main argument you will make and how each of the elements of the paper fit together.
In developing your outline, it may be helpful to keep the following in mind regarding philosophy papers:
"A philosophy paper presents a reasoned defense of some thesis. So a philosophy paper typically does at least one of the following:
• Defends a thesis by offering plausible reasons to support it
• Defends a thesis by showing that arguments against it are unconvincing
• Criticizes a thesis by showing that the arguments for it are unconvincing
• Contrasts two or more views on a given issue and argue for one view over the other."

Negative Consequences: Single Use Plastic and Its Detriment to the Greater Good
Environmental pollution is detrimental to non-human well-being and one of the major contributors is the creation of single use plastic, much of which ends up in the oceans. We have all seen the disturbing images of turtles with plastic bags around their necks or whales, sharks and dolphins whose post-mortems reveal stomachs full of plastic debris (Hastings, 209). However, single use plastic is also detrimental to human well-being because, I argue, human health and happiness is only possible within a thriving and healthy environment. In other words, single use plastic is a moral concern. In this paper, I review single use plastic according to the utilitarian principle that we ought “to act according to the greater good for the greater number,” (Bentham, 205) and that we ought to do our utmost to reduce suffering in both human and non-human species. I also consider Bentham’s claim that “one only counts as one” and argue that from a utilitarian perspective, we should dissuade the production of single use plastic.
Outline
I. Thesis (see above)
II. Explanation of plastic pollution and its impact on the oceans and sea life. Include details of human suffering as a “Cascade Effect” of plastic pollution. Include statistics from a valid source and relevant quotes.
III. An explanation of Utilitarianism and how it can be used to argue for the banning of single use plastic. You can explain the framework and how it was developed to guard against ethical egoism and the self-interest of the wealt.

This is where the introduction for your paper should begin. You should indent the first paragraph and include a hook to draw your reader in and make the topic interesting. Your introduction should also include an overview of the main points you will discuss in your paper and conclude with a concise thesis statement of 25 words or less that clearly summarizes what your paper is about. Please be sure to not refer to the paper in your paper. For example, “In this paper, I will discuss…” is not appropriate for formal writing. Also, your paper should not use words such as I, we, or you. For more suggestions, please read about thesis statements on our Ashford Writing Center website: Thesis Statements. Your introduction should be at least ½ a page in length.
Historical and Constitutional Background
Your paper should include the four main headings as outlined in this template. It is vital, in order to fully meet the expectations for this paper, that you support your arguments utilizing scholarly sources. Be sure to summarize, paraphrase, and include in-text citations. You must properly cite all additional resources with in-text APA formatted citations and an APA reference list in order to avoid plagiarism. No more than 10% of your paper should be direct quotations. Each heading/topic should be a a minimum of 1 to 1.5 pages in length. It is important to include transitions and more deeply reflect and expand on the material from each week. Be sure to review the WayPoint feedback provided by your instructor from your Week 2 and Week 3 Assignments and the feedback from the Ashford Writing Center from your Week 4 assignment. Integrate the feedback into your revisions as you expand your analysis of each section for your final paper.
Checks and Balances
Your second section should focus on the checks and balances that are involved within the policy you have selected.
Public Policy, Elections, and Media
The third section of your final paper should focus on how the policy relates to public policy, elections, and is portrayed by the media. Each paragraph of your assignment should be clear and easy to follow. Ashford has several valuable resources to help you write a strong paragraph, such as How to Write a Good Paragraph page and the Integrating Research tutorial.
Voting and the Election Process
The fourth section of your paper should focus on how the policy is impacted by voting and the election process. In addition to being well-written, each paragraph should include an in-text citation for all information summarized, paraphrased, or quoted from outside sources. The Ashford Writing Center provides many resources to help you follow correct citation style (primarily APA) and gives lessons and examples of how to paraphrase and cite sources. The ...

Applying Theory to Specific Settings and Populations
Applying Theory to Specific Settings and Populations
Employment is a concern that affects society, communities, families, and individuals. The world of work has changed considerably with each generation: advances in technology, changes in jobs and industries, high unemployment, universal health care, and lower wages, to name a few (Shoffner, 2006). To meet the needs of our clients today, counselors should be knowledgeable in career theories that can be applied to their career choice and development. This paper focuses on two theories: Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT), and Theory of Work Adjustment (TWA). This author identifies the strengths and weaknesses to both perspectives, and explains how these theories may be applied to trauma and crisis populations.
Work Setting and Client Population
For the last ten years I worked in the field of education as an elementary school teacher. I recently made a career change that I felt compelled to follow: to counsel victims of violence and trauma survivors. I am currently not working in the field of mental health; however, I wish to pursue any work setting such as a hospital, shelter, or agency that serves victimized populations. I also aspire to get involved with Red Cross or FEMA relief agencies when services are needed for disaster relief. I want to give back to the community, and make it count.
Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) and Theory of Work Adjustment
Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) is a learning and cognitive approach to career development and choice (Shoffner, 2006). The key concepts of self-efficacy beliefs, outcome expectations, and career choice barriers and supports, contribute to career interests, goals, and behavior (Morris, Shoffner, & Newsome, 2009). Chronister & McWhirter (2003) assert that SCCT integrates the role of environmental influences on the “development and pursuit of vocational and educational interests, choices, and performance” (p. 419). In short, people’s interests and aspirations are influenced by their belief that they can do things well.
The Theory of Work Adjustment (TWA), by Dawis, England, and Lofquist, was developed from the trait and factor approach to career counseling. TWA posits that success on the job results from a good “fit” between individuals and their work environments (Shoffner, 2006). The four main components of TWA are satisfaction, person--environment correspondence, reinforcement value, and ability, addressing both individual characteristics and pertinent environmental factors (Shoffner, 2006).
Similarities and Differences
Social Cognitive Career Theory and Theory of Work Adjustment both have a solid and extensive research base with continuous empirical findings to support their theoretical approaches to career development. Both theories may be applied to a variety of populations such as “girl.

As far as the article is concerned, diversity offers an individual or an organization a broad range of talents, and these talents do not belong to any form of ethnicity within the organization. Instead, the broad range of talents mainly emanates from various sources, and the people also have an opportunity of practicing their various styles and leadership prowess. Diversity in the workplace also means the increased and improved performance of an organization due to the aspect of bringing together various minds of the people. However, despite diversity being a key and important thing for a firm, it must be realigned with the goals of the firm so that it may be successful and have a meaning to the firm. Dealing with many people is also not an easy thing due to the differences such as people exhibit. Comment by Ryan: Generally, lines aren't indented in annotations, and they aren't split into paragraphs. Comment by Ryan: How do you plan to use the information in this source in your argument? It's not entirely clear if this text summarizes the source, explains how you will use it, or both. Review the way that the Sample Touchstone 2.2 presents this information. The strategy that was highly helpful and important when looking for credible sources for this undertaking entailed the use of keywords and phrases like diversity and workplace. The strategy also involved using words like an organization and the need for having a functional workplace. The notable difficulties encountered included the availability of numerous sources, and this created the need for selecting the best from those sources. The appropriate way of overcoming the challenge was by selecting the most recent articles and those that pr.

Provide a brief introduction to your paper here. The title serves as your introductory heading, so there is no need for a heading titled “Introduction.” Here you will briefly discuss the purpose of the paper. Start first by writing a sentence or two on the topic in general; that is, the career planning in your desired population or setting. Then, follow up with a statement of the specific purpose or argument of this particular assignment (i.e., to illustrate a career plan designed to assist clients or students with identifying options for meaningful and desirable work). Remember, you need a minimum of three sentences to make a paragraph. At the end of your introduction, include a sentence outlining which topics will be discussed and in which order.
Case Study
In this section of your final project, you will develop a case study from which you will base your career plan. Do not use “Darren” from the resources. In your case study, you should briefly describe your client’s/student’s presenting problem or career concern, as well as relevant sociocultural factors that influence the case. Be sure to include all relevant information such as the client’s demographic variables (consider use of the ADDRESSING model of identity), the client’s specific career difficulties (e.g., problems maintaining adequate work/life balance, discrimination in the workplace, layoff/termination, relocation, dislike of job duties, etc.), and his or her goals for counseling. For example, in a clinical mental health setting, you might describe a 40-year-old African American woman who is seeking to explore new career options due to interpersonal difficulties at her current place of employment. In a school counseling setting, you might describe work with a 17-year-old high school senior whose parents emigrated from Mexico and is having difficulty deciding between college and the military. This section of your paper should be at least two paragraphs.

Be sure to provide a rationale for the activities you identify, using specific career theories as a framework. For example, if using a Holland-type career assessment, be sure to explain Holland’s ideas on the connection between personality characteristics and job titles, and how the assessment would promote career exploration in this case. Additionally, be sure to also consider other questions such as: “What techniques would you use to develop rapport, express empathy, and encourage your client/student to tell his or her story?” and “How would you broach the role of sociocultur ...

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Strategic planning is “the process of establishing

Strategic planning is a comprehensive approach to
marketing, which aims to align overall corporate

business units and the marketing plans which are
intended to realise these goals (Pride et al., 2006).

Efficient management of human resources, likewise,
requires knowledge and ability to implement
macroeconomic principles. For instance, according to the
Principle of Comparative Advantage, “everyone does best
when each concentrates on the activity for which he or
she is relatively most productive” (Frank & Bernanke,
2001, p. 23). This suggests that the underlying purpose of
human resources ought to be to ensure that employees
are trained, motivated and managed so that they can

PING-PONG
According to the model presented by Quester,
Macguiggan, Perrault and McCarthy (2004, p.
108), brand preference is a dynamic process
consisting of five different stages. This model
provides a highly useful basis for evaluation of
marketing strategy. For instance, Benneton, in the
1990’s, embarked on a highly controversial global
campaign, which certainly raised their level of
brand recognition. Their failure to translate this
recognition into matching sales (Hamilton, 1997),
may be because the whole campaign was narrowly
targeted at one single stage of brand preference.

Observational learning can be defined as “the
phenomenon whereby people develop patterns of
behavior by observing the actions of others”
(Mowen & Minor, 1998, p. 147).

The same basic
principle for ALL
sources
8. CITATIONS (more than one
author)
For two authors, always include both:
Blah, blah, blah, blah (Chang & Liu, 2009).
For three to five authors– include all surnames first time
Blah, blah, blah, blah (Hubbard, Thomas, & Varnham, 2001).
And then use et al. if you refer to the same source again
Blah, blah, blah, blah (Hubbard et al., 2001).
For six or more authors, use et al. all the time
Blah, blah, blah, blah (Singh et al., 2011).
9. CITATIONS (SECONDARY
SOURCES)
In a recently discovered private diary, Jane Austen describes the character
as “her greatest challenge and most uncertain achievement” (as cited in
Smith, 2012, p. 231).
But try to avoid secondary references if possible. Instead, give
the original source for your information or quotations.
This period during which a learner can complete a task with the support of
tools and / or mentors is known as the Zone of Proximal Development
(ZPD) (Vygotsky, 1978).
In this case, it doesn’t really matter that I haven’t read
Vygotsky’s book myself – I read about this theory in a recent
book, but I’m including a reference to the original book in which
Vygotsky explained this theory.
10. CITATIONS (three ways)
According to Dunbar and Holmes (2003), cognitive
behavioural therapy is increasingly preferred …..
Dunbar and Holmes (2003) claim / argue / suggest / state /
provide evidence that cognitive behavioural therapy is
increasingly preferred …..
Cognitive behavioural therapy is increasingly preferred to more
traditional medical interventions in such cases (Dunbar &
Holmes, 2003).
Most of the time, you’ll put the reference in brackets, just after
you’ve finished with the information.
But sometimes you can include the author(s) in your sentence and
then just put the year in brackets.
