The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a crisis in many sectors globally, including the education sector. Since the disease hit the world, efforts have been made to seek alternative lifestyles. It forced the education sector to move away from face-to-face learning, and both teachers and students switched to online learning. Since then, the disease has had impacts like sociological where people cannot come up and learn together, psychological in that people have been stressed up with deaths of their people, and much more on distance learning in adolescents (Ali, 2020). In this case, it is the ninth-grade students of the American High School Academy. The disease has created unprecedented pressure on Miami Dade. On April 6, 2021, the number of reported death cases was 19, and 1,516 new cases were reported. This shows that the infection rate is still very high, despite the slight decrease in the number of infected. The COVID-19 rules being followed in Miami include getting vaccinated, wearing masks to maintain social distance, and disinfecting rooms and objects. The referred center has about 250 students, and their teachers take attendance to classes online, and classes are attended online.
1.1-Research problem / Definition
Coronavirus is a disease caused by the COVID-19 virus classified as a pandemic at present, which has changed the dynamics of the world in general. The first case was discovered in the city of Wuhan in China in December 2019, and since then, the disease has spread around the world, claiming thousands of lives. COVID-19 has impacted the biological, psychological, and social point of view in the ninth-grade students of the American High School Academy located in Miami Dade County in southern Florida, starting with implementing the modality of Distance Education to replace face-to-face learning program. Students cannot adopt new rules and regulations due to limited financial resources (Ballivian et al., 2020). Students cannot continue with distance education due to limited financial resources.

Assignment: Locating an Empirical Research Article
Empirical research articles document a study that is either quantitative, qualitative or a mixed methods research design. When authors write an empirical research article they typically follow a format that looks like this: Introduction/Background, Literature Review, Methodology, Findings, and Discussion. The authors recount literature on their specific research topic and describe in a systematic manner how the data was collected and then analyzed in order to answer the research question(s). Once the data is analyzed, they present the findings. Finally, they interpret the findings using past literature to help understand the findings.
What we broadly describe as a “quantitative study” includes numerical summaries that involve descriptive statistics (averages, standard deviations), correlations, and inferential statistics (such as T-tests, Chi Squares and other kinds of analyses). These kinds of studies can include certain elements such as per- and post-tests or survey results looking at correlations between variables.
Qualitative articles, on the other hand, use interviews, focus groups, observations, and written answers to questions. Rather than using statistics to summarize the study, these studies look at themes and present the material using words, phrases and often paragraphs to illustrate what they are representing.
To prepare for this assignment, review Week 1’s readings and resources on how to locate an empirical research article using the library’s databases.

· Locate an empirical research article that is either a quantitative or qualitative study from a peer reviewed social work journal for the final assignment.

This study aimed to identify, analyze and determine the level of self-efficacy and self-esteem of B.S. Information Technology (BSIT) students of a higher learning institution in Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It was conducted during the 1st Semester of the academic year 2019-2020. This research utilized descriptive approach to describe the level of self-esteem and self-efficacy of the students and to draw valuable insights that may contribute to the improvement of the teaching and learning practices of the faculty members in the college. The researchers used random sampling to ensure that all year levels are well represented in the study. There were 285 students who voluntarily responded after the researchers explained to them the purpose of this study. Responses were tallied, summarized and interpreted. Results show that the level of self-esteem and self-efficacy of the students were moderate/medium (WM=2.03, WM=2.08). This indicates that depending on the given situation or context, students may increase or decrease the level of their self-esteem and self-efficacy. This study suggest that students may be exposed to more activities that may help them improve their self-esteem and self-efficacy to greatly contribute to their holistic development. Future studies may be conducted to a larger number of respondents and to understand the link between self-efficacy and self-esteem on their academic performance, drop-out rates, and retention rates.

Online learning has become the mainstay during this COVID 19 lockdown. Students in the professional courses had to adjust themselves to the new teaching method. The present study has been conducted to evaluate and compare the metaphor of thought by the medical and dental students regarding online teaching. A self directed questionnaire was given to 200 participants 120 medical, 80 dental by Google form. Students were between 17 23 years age, pursuing their first year. Questions were given under five subheadings with three options'yes’, 'somewhat’ and 'no’. The responses were analyzed. 47.9 medical and 31.6 dental students replied 'yes’ for blended learning. 40 medical and 30.9 dental students opined there was no contentment with the subject. Mentors advice was useful for 44.4 medical and 59.9 dental students. Only 6.8 medical and 19.1 dental students could be able to manage time.26.8 medical and 13.4 dental students were satisfied with the clarity on the subject. Mixed responses were given by medical and dental students. Medical students preferred blended learning than dental students. Mentors advice was more helpful for dental students. Metaphor of Thought on Online Teaching during Lockdown by Medical and Dental ...ijtsrd
Online learning has become the mainstay during this COVID 19 lockdown. Students in the professional courses had to adjust themselves to the new teaching method. The present study has been conducted to evaluate and compare the metaphor of thought by the medical and dental students regarding online teaching. A self directed questionnaire was given to 200 participants 120 medical, 80 dental by Google form. Students were between 17 23 years age, pursuing their first year. Questions were given under five subheadings with three options'yes’, 'somewhat’ and 'no’. The responses were analyzed. 47.9 medical and 31.6 dental students replied 'yes’ for blended learning. 40 medical and 30.9 dental students opined there was no contentment with the subject. Mentors advice was useful for 44.4 medical and 59.9 dental students. Only 6.8 medical and 19.1 dental students could be able to manage time.26.8 medical and 13.4 dental students were satisfied with the clarity on the subject. Mixed responses were given by medical and dental students. Medical students preferred blended learning than dental students. Mentors advice was more helpful for dental students. Introduction
The field of higher education has the opportunity to provide positive change in the lives of students globally. However, it can also cause harm if institutions or policies are not in place to negate ethical mistreatment in the classroom, in the workforce or in the personal lives of individuals. Professionals connected to institutions must provide an atmosphere of respect, honesty, and care for students holistically to eliminate exploitation of international students for the sake of an institution's reputation. Acts of exploitation can range from heightened cost of tuition for international to masking sexual assault reporting. These factors cause harm to students that go beyond higher education, leading to scars that can impact career opportunities and mental wellness. This paper addresses global stressors that affect students and considerations that can provide a more student-centered changes to institutions on the global scale.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY is when students are honest and
open about the work they submit for assessment at
university.
For example, it means that they write their own essays
and reports and they use referencing to show the reader
where their ideas (and short quotations) come from.
Whenever you submit anything for assessment, you will sign a standard
declaration, including the phrase:
“This assignment is my own original work. No part of this work has been
copied from any other source or person except where due
acknowledgement is made, and no part of the work has been previously
submitted for assessment at this or any other institution.”

2. What are breaches of Academic
Integrity?
A BREACH of academic integrity is when students are
NOT honest and open about the work they submit for
assessment at university.
For example:

you edit it yourself, is clearly a serious
breach of academic integrity – and is easily
detected by Turnitin.

Because UNDA staff are experts in academic writing, it is usually OBVIOUS if
a student has plagiarised.
In addition, UNDA students need to upload their written assessments to

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a range of negative and positive impacts on nursing
students around the world. Like students in other disciplines, nursing students have had to
cope with the difficulties of adjusting to online learning (Gaffney et al., 2021). The transition
has been especially difficult for nurses, given the critical importance of clinical practice as part
of their programmes. For those whose placements have been cancelled or delayed, this has
caused high levels of stress (Ramos-Morcillo et al., 2020). One US study reported that more
than one in ten nursing students were considering withdrawal as a result (Michel et al., 2021).
However, the same study reported that for most student nurses, the pandemic has had a
positive effect on their self-esteem. A British study found that this positive effect was
particularly strong among nursing students who had the opportunity to volunteer for extended
placements. They felt proud of being able to contribute and to learn new skills. At the same
time, they needed support to cope with the added stresses of social isolation (Swift et al.,
2020).
