Ask one student a question based on
your ‘find someone who’ handout
If they say ‘yes’, ask a follow-up question
and write their name in the relevant box
Only write the name of each student
once; the aim is to collect ten or more
different names
Then answer their questions.
Look at the person you are talking to and
do not show them your handout.

The uni year is typically made up of two 12
week semesters (some unis have three
semesters; some have optional ‘summer
school’)
Each paper you pass gives you credits.
Grades go from A+ down to C.
In NZ universities, students typically
take four papers each semester; 24 in
total for a three-year degree programme
Most degree programmes are made up of
core papers, major papers and elective
papers.

institutions & include their CRICOS codes

11. Applying for a NZ tertiary
scholarship
Applications need to be done on forms
obtained from the NZ High Commission in
Bairiki (Mon – Fri 8.30 am – 12.30 pm & 1.30
pm – 5.00 pm)
You need to choose 2 courses
