Promotional Artists and company’s they’re with need their
products/tours to be promoted, they do this by
advertising. The majority of artists release singles
before their albums. This is so the album gets sold;
people who listen to the single that has been let out
will want to buy the album to listen to more. For
example Jake Bugg brought out a song ‘Trouble Town’
a few months before his album ‘Mercury’ was
released. To get more promotions most artists will
appear on TV and radio shows.

Extension of income Extension of income, this is to do with things that the
artist are selling themselves, this increases his income.
His albums bring in a lot of income a better way to
make more money is by selling a variety of
merchandise. For example he has his own website
that his albums and merchandise. All of which have
their logo ‘Jake Bugg’ on, if not his brand name then
one of their song or album name. A lot of fans will buy
items to show that they listen to him. When they do
that they are also advertising for Jake Bugg, other fans
will see the item and want to buy something.

Extension of outlets This is to do with where the artist’s items are being
sold, shown or distributed. Expanding their audience
will increase all the different ways the songs can be
assessed. For example, TV, Internet and DVD’s. Most
fans will like or share videos on social networking
sites; by doing this it means that their friends can see
the videos. Also to extended outlets further, most
retail shops such as HMV, merchandise stores and
many other high street shops will sell the artists
merchandise in bundles. Anything from DVD’s,
wristbands and tops. This will let all the fans become
aware with different items they could buy.

Synergy Synergy is to do with connecting marketing and
distribution of media across a variety of platforms. For
example Jake Bugg has his own YouTube. Across
YouTube Jake Bugg’s albums, concerts and
merchandise. This promotes his music and can make
himself lots of money by involving himself in different
platforms in the media.

Producers strategies One Directions producer will want their public image
to be great and to be able to bring them as much
success as possible. They will advise them on what
interviews they should go to and advise them on what
to say when answering questions. Producers try to
help them out as much as they can to ensure they get
what they want and they’re happy with everything.
They also do their best to promote any new albums /
merch that are coming out. Social media is a big part
in this because their record label, producers and even
they will use it to promote things, making it beneficial
for everyone.
