1. Music Video Proposal and Treatment

2. General Concept: For my video I want it to be calm to match the tempo / lyrics of the song.
The story line is basically a break up, and how the man copes afterwards and just following
him through the day; it will be a narrative based video.
Guidelines: Camera shots – Extreme close up, long shot, point of view, two shot, cut away.
Influences (visual style):My inspiration is from videos such as, Swim Deep - King City (ideas
for following him through the day), David Guetta - sexy chick (Ft. Akon) (waking up to
pictures, but just a picture and not about relationships for my video),Ed Sheeran - Drunk
(getting drunk to forget and remember memories when they were together).
Attachments: The shooting date will be in January, the locations will depend on the weather
on the days we will be shooing the video.
Here are a few rules that I want to apply in making the music video:
It is a narrative based video.
A crane will be used to hold a camera above the man; I will be using the extreme close
up shot of just his eyes.
The main shots I will be using are Extreme close up for the start of the video, long shot /
extreme long shot for the walking about. Point of view shot to see what he can see, also
two shot and cut away.
The shooting will take place indoors and outdoors, cast will also be needed, a man and
woman ages 16 - 20 to be in the video as the main characters.
The lighting will depend on whether we are shooting indoors / outdoors at the time, and
also the lighting wherever we set up.
For the costumes I would like the cast to be dressed casually as if they were going out on
a normal day.
My four main scenes are:
(i) Close ups at the start of the video.
(ii) Point of view from the man in the video.
(iii) Following the man around on his usual day.
(iv) Flash back of memories of him and her.
Concerns: Weather - I need check the weather and choose a day that we can go out and
shoot all the scenes we need that have to be shot outside.
Budget - I need to ensure we stay in our budget but also have the equipment that we need;
by finding the cheapest quote of the things we need and make sure it is good enough
quality.
Reliability of the crew – I need to check will the rest of my crew what days they are free, and
can definitely be there on the day and on time.

3. Equipment - I will get familiar with the camera and any other equipment needed to shoot
the video, before the days we start to shoot the video.
Crew: I will be working in a group with 2 other people (Emma and Jonathan); we will have
multiple jobs as the crew.
