this will be very beneficial for

Urban Rural
I am trying to target rural areas. From
my interview with David and Jane I
have decided that I should include
many rural areas - for example, focus
on Cossington, Woodhouse Eves and
Swithland.

in mind that this is different to an

This is a good result as my

there will be more people

magazines.

This answer will give me a good
idea on whether the use of
social media would be popular
with my audience and ultimately
if the use of it will help my
production succeed in reality.

These are all conventions of a
magazine so I shall be including
them all anyway, but it is good to
see that all the conventions affect
the audience. This is because
different aspects will appeal to
different people and with a similar
range of numbers, my magazine
will definitely attract a variety of
people

8. Times that people
listen
This shows that the two most
popular times for radio listeners in
my target market is in the morning
and in the evening. This means
that my radio advert must be
featured during these times in
order to get the right audience to
listen.
How long do you
listen for?
So, during the morning and the
evening, on average a person
listens for 45 minutes a day. I
need to carefully decide when I
feature my advert as I only have
a limited time as to when my
target audience listen.

9. Which radio stations
do you listen to?
It is good to see that the most
listened to station are the BBC
stations. However, the BBC
stations do not have any
advertising on them. I am going to
be looking at advertising on Gem
106 and Heart.
Do you use radio
player apps?
When looking at this answer I
can depict whether exploring
more media platforms and
advertising on apps dedicated to
radio, would be beneficial for my
production. Looking at the
answers, it would be beneficial

It is unfortunate that more people
dislike radio adverts than like
them, however the majority of
people say that they dont mind
them. This means that they won’t
be put off by the advert for my
magazine and will listen to it.

The house colours I am going to
use are black and white to create
sophistication within the
magazine. Also, the use of
landscape imagery will naturally
create the green and blue house
style.
Which image would be
most effective?
This result shows that my
audience will most likely appeal
to a location shot the most. An
object of significance comes
second. In my planning, I may
look to include both of these - a
windmill in the countryside -
picturesque location and focus
point.

13. Where would you like
to see the poster?
This question allows me to decide
where the best place would be to
put a magazine advertisement.
From this, I will be able to analyse
where the best places are to grab
the audiences attention.
Social media
association?
Using social media will be vital in
the process of marketing my
regional magazine, it will attract
digital natives and create links

14. Do you pay attention to
billboard posters?
Not many people do pay attention
to posters, but it will still help the
magazine as there are a few
people who do. I would also look
to other ways of advertising, but I
am creating one of these as an
ancillary task.
Would you be more
inclined to buy something
if you say it on a billboard?
Again, knowing this means that
the billboard posters will build up
sales of the magazine in reality.

16. What ambient sounds
should be used in the radio
advert?
I will be looking into using birds
chirping and instrumental score
and a river running. The most
popular answer for the instrument
is a piano. I will be incorporating
this into my production because of
the tranquillity of slow playing.

I chose a variety women who are very

to ask Mrs Leite to be the speaker as
she is easier to communicate with.

The most popular answer is out
walking with her dog. This would be a
perfect idea for the narrative as most
people with dogs can relate to the
relaxing with a magazine after
walking the dog. I will be using this as
gardening may condense the amount
of people interested in the magazine
if they think its only about gardening.
Should the ambient sound
stop at any point?
The ambient sound will help create
sophistication within the advert. The
only thing is I need to decide for how
long or at what volume I should play it.
The majority vote is between a
constant sound or a change in volume
when the speaker talks. I will be
looking into both of these when in
production.

I really like the idea of a village sign
and images of the countryside. I can
incorporate both of these by having
an image of the forest footpath with
the village sign in front of it. I could
then use icons of Leicester on the
village sign allowing me more
opportunity to put images in.
Should there be an image of
the magazine’s front page
on the billboard poster?
I think this is definitely something that I
need to include in order to give me a
bigger brand identity and to initially
show the audience what they are

The focal image cannot be too far away
because then the audience wont be able
to see it very well, the same applies with
overpowering with a close up. I think a
medium shot would be best as it wont
take up the whole of the billboard poster
and it wont be overpowering for other
information.
