Through creating a media project, the document discusses learning new skills and features of various technologies. These include learning how to use features of a HD camcorder like zooming and lighting, as well as how to use a tripod smoothly. The document also discusses learning to edit video using iMovie, share files through Google Drive, use Pinterest and Prezi for presentations, record audio using Garage Band, and find copyright-free music on Incompetech.

2. Through this process we have learnt a lot about
how to use new features of technologies which
were new to us or which we hadn’t used much
of. This process allowed us to learn about
certain technologies in more depth.

3. The first piece of equipment which we used was a
HD camcorder, we had all used a camera before
however we weren’t all aware of the features
which it had. One feature which we were aware of
was the zoom however through the process we
learned how to control zooming in and out.
Another feature which the camera includes a
extra bit of lighting which can help increase the
lighting giving what is shot an overall better
effect. The something else which we learnt about
the camera was just general features like how to
view what we had just filmed as well as how to
rewind and fast forward what we had filmed.

4. One piece of equipment which support the camcorder
which we used to film our entire media project. The
tripod allowed us to have a steady shot throughout.
Instead of us having to hold the camera through each
scene being as still as we can the tripod helped to
support to shots. We learned a few features about the
tripod such as being able to extend to the legs which
allowed us to tamper with the shots. We found another
feature which allowed us to move the camera
smoothly throughout shots, it allows us to do without
the being wobbly in through the shots. This allowed
our thriller to have a smoother finish. We also found a
feature which has a red circle around it. This feature
allowed us to raise and lower the platform which the
camera sits on.

5. When using imovie we learned a lot
of new feature through this piece of
technology. This program allowed us
to edit our film in a quicker way. We
were considering using final cut pro
however it is a more detailed
program and would take longer. We
learned how to use transitions
effectively, adding scenes, changing
the filter of the scene. We also
learned how to add in sound effects.
This program was fairly new for us
to begin with.

6. I have used Google drive several
times before so I did know of how to
use it. The reason which I needed to
use Google drive was due to saving
our rough cuts as well as final videos
to share with our group. I did
however learn how to publicly share
the documents which I uploaded to
Google drive. Even though I was
quite familiar with Google drive I still
learned something from it.

7. This website was completely new
to me, I had heard of it however I
had never used it before. The
reason I came to using this
program was due to my 2nd
evaluation. I learned how to make
a board and what it was. I also
learned that the caption space is
very limited and the more you
post it becomes like a collage. To
me Pinterest seems like an online
notice board. I also learned how
to share things and create and
embedded link.

8. I had previously used Prezi quite a few years
ago however I didn’t understand the concept of
it and found it much to confusing to use.
However through this process I have become
more familiar with Prezi. I now Know who to
make a successful Prezi, insert pictures as well
as adding new text boxes.
With slide share its almost like an online
version of PowerPoint. In the past I have used
this website to find information. Its quite easy to
understand, I now know how to make this into
an embedded link as well as making a
PowerPoint public.

9. With PowerPoint I was already quite familiar with
this program as I have been using it for quite a
few years. I used it to insert PowerPoint into
SlidShare. However I do believe that I have
gotten better at using it know. I feel that I am
now better at inserting graphs into a
PowerPoint.

10. We had used Garage Band to create our own track
to use in out thriller opening. To begin with I was
already quite familiar with this application available
on Apple products only. However this had shown
to be an advantage as we were able to work more
efficiently. However I did learn how to use master
sound which fades out the entire piece.
In order to make this into a track we had to upload
it to iTunes which meant that we could then use the
track in our piece.

11. When it came to editing we
decided to use a Macbook Pro
to do all our editing on. This
Macbook was up to date
making the editing process
easier as we had the latest
software which meant that it
was fast at all times. We did
learn some new things as we
were familiar with Macs
however we don’t use them on
a daily basis.

12. Footage crate was a new piece of
technology which was new to all of us.
We used this program to make to gun
shot. With this website we were able to
make our thriller opening seem more
realistic. However getting this in the right
time as the shot of the gun was difficult
but we did it.

13. We used blogger to put all our
coursework. I had not used blogger
before it was completely new to me.
However I have learnt how to import
videos as well as pictures into a blog. I
also now know how to change the size
and style of the font. I have also learned
how to embed links into a blog.

14. Incompetech is a website which allowed us
to get music which is copyright free to use in
our opening. This website had a range of
genre. This allowed us to find a track which
we felt fitted the best to our opening. This
website was extremely beneficial to us.
