2. Mind Map
Magazine Radio Show Podcast
A magazine exploring the
top ten festivals in the
UK
A radio show based around
Leeds and Reading festival,
some of the artists that will
be heading and playing.
A podcast review on
a weekend at a
popular festival
3. Mind Map
Final Idea: Radio Show
I will make my own logo
using Photoshop for my
radio show.
I will be making a
poster to inform
people of the radio
show I will use
photoshop to create
this
I will use
different genres
of music related
to the artists that
I will be speaking
about during the
show. I will
import the music
using Youtube
converter
I will be conducting
Interviews with people asking
them questions based on this
years L and R line up. I will
use a voice recorder to do
this and I will also write a
script to ensure I know what
to say
My target audience are young
people aged between 15-24. many
people of this age range will be in
college, school or university.
When planning to create my
poster I will look at what could
attract my target audience, in
the way of colours, images and
the way I can make the
masthead stand out. When planning to create
my logo I will look at
existing logos for radio
stations to get influences
from. I will also look at the
sorts of colours I could use
to attract my target
audience.
When deciding what
songs to play from the
artists and bands I have
chosen I will look at the
most popular songs that
the have produced
because this will attract
them and they will
instantly know the song.
5. Mood Board Analysis
Is there any repetition in the images you have collected?
Repeated colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
• There is a repetition of the images I have collected, the logos are all radio related and also
most of the images I have on my mood board are very much music related. They also have a
certain mood attached to the images they make you feel ”free” and ”weightless” because
when your at a festival you get this feel, as if nothing really matters. The fonts on my images
especially my logo ones are bold and these will stick out and attract my target audience. The
colours used on my images differ some are bright and eye-catching some have quite dark
colours in.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
• My mood board will influence my final product because it will give me ideas on what colours and fonts I should use in my
own poster when I come to make it. I will think about how I can attract my audience and what I can add in it to make them
connect with it and also it will influence what I put on my poster and help me when I come to putting the right information
on it. Also how I should create my logo and what colours and fonts I should use to ensure it attracts my target audience. it
also will influence.
6. Informal Proposal
Current Idea
Concept the idea I have come up with is to make a radio show based on this years Leeds and
Reading festival I will talk about some of the artists that are playing and headlining
the festival.
Type of
products you
would make
• The types of products I plan to make are a logo of my radio show and poster to
inform people of when it’s happening and what it will be about. Also I will be
producing an interview to ask people different types of questions on if they are
attending or not and who they are excited to see.
What you will
need to make
them
To make my products I will need Photoshop to create my poster and logo, a voice
recorder to record my interview on and premier audio to put my finished audio in.
Audience The audience/target group I have chosen my product for are 15-24 year olds, I have
chosen this age range because I feel young people are more likely to connect with
my product and listen to it than any other age range, I say this because young people
make up a large majority of the people that go to festivals. My product is aimed at
both male and female, I have decided this because both men and women go to
festivals and listening to my product they will both connect with it and find it
interesting.
7. Choices
Discounted ideas Reasons for not choosing this
project
Magazine
(Top ten festivals in the UK)
• The reason I didn’t choose this project
was because I didn’t feel as if this area
was my strongest and I needed to choose
a strong area to preform well.
Podcast
(A review about a day at a festival)
• The reason I didn’t choose this project
was because a podcast didn’t really
excite me and I wanted to do something
“radio based” because I feel as if that
would be good for me to do seen as I
want to go in to radio as a career. Also
talking is definitely a strong point for me.
Also if an option is there to do something
“radio based” it would be silly for me not
to go for it as this will allow me to pick
up skills and learn also.
