The questionnaire had been completed by 30 people
This questionnaire analysis will contribute towards our
thriller piece it will allow us to find out what is wanted by
the audience.
The purpose is that it will allow us to see the key features
of a thriller film
The analysis will help us to see any benefits from the
questions which we had asked
female
male
This allowed us to see the majority of gender who answered this
questionnaire therefore the results will mainly tell us a females view on
thriller
15-20
21-25
26-30
31-36
37+
This allowed us to see what the most common age group was, as we can
see in the pie chart the most common age group is shown to be 15-20
years old

romance
comedy
This question allowed us to understand that the most popular thriller sub-genre was
action, this is also the sub genre which our group has chosen for our thriller. The
results for this question are shown to be beneficial to our group as we now know
that action thrillers are a popular sub genre. However there were other liked sub
genre which means we will have to find different aspects which will appeal to
them.

From this we understand that the two most liked aspects of thrillers are the action aspect as well as the story
line. These were expected answers as the story line is what initially draws the audience in. For instance if the
story line for the thriller wasn’t lively just seemed to be plain and boring this would drive the audience away as
there would be nothing to intrigue them. This allows our group to understand that we need to have a strong
story line which would draw the audience instantly to our thriller. The action aspect which had bee shown to be
evenly liked as the story line is also an important aspect. This is because the action in a thriller excites there
audience as it a different event which may consist of chases, this also draws them into the thriller. This allows us
as a group to understand that we need to also focus on the action aspect to make sure that our audience will
instantly be hooked into our thriller.

From this we understand that there are mixed opinions of what people don’t like about thrillers, the answers
from this question contradict from the last question. This is because in the last question the most important
aspect of a thriller had shown to be the story line but in the pie chart above its shown to be not as in important
its even with the soundtrack. However for this question the amount of people who think that the story line for
the thriller isn’t as important is a smaller meaning that we should still consider the story line as an important
aspect as there was a larger amount in the last question who considered it to be important. However we now
understand that the music which we use for the thriller isn’t as important because it isn’t liked by many which
we have found out from this question.

50s
60s
70s
80s
90s
2000s
From this we understand that there is a mix of what time period of what the audience would like the thriller to
be set in. This is interesting as it wasn’t expected for the most common age group which is 15-20 years old to
prefer their thriller to be quite old time periods. However the results from this question are beneficial towards
our group as we now understand which time period the audience would prefer the thriller to be in. The most
common time period was shown to be the 2000s. This was the expected answer to be honest. This is because
during the time period of the 2000s more gadgets such as mobile phones are used in thrillers as well as that
the most common age group lived during this time period making more sense that they would like to see a
thriller in the time period which they have grown up in. Thrillers have been shown to be more exciting and
creative as the time goes on and to make this more realistic they can’t have a modern story line in the 60s.
yes
no
This allowed us to see how much of the people which we asked to fill out
our questionnaire who liked thrillers. This information tells us that the
majority enjoy thrillers
Alfred Hitchock
Nicholas Meyers
Don siegel
Quentin Taratino
steven spielberg
other
This question was only answered by people who said that they enjoy thrillers from
the last question. By this question being answered we can see what directors style is
preferred by the majority. In this case we can see that the majority prefer Steven
Spielberg’s style of directing. As a group we can start to have a look at his style of
directing so look at movies such as Flags Of Our Father which will give us an insight
to his style so that our thriller will be popular with the audience
• This was an open question where the person who filled out the
questionnaire had to give four answers the most common answers were
shown to be guns, cars, relationships and violence.
• I believe that these were the most popular choices because these are the
main factors in a thriller film and these are the factors which tend to excite
the audience, make them want to keep watching. Therefore these are
important for our group when creating our thriller as they have shown to
be popular.
• When it came to an open question like this I had to look at an overall of what
seemed to be the most common answer.
• I found that the most common answer was to be parks and city areas. This is
most likely due to the fact that they are general places making the film to
seem more realistic.
• Therefore this information will be beneficial to our group because now we
can see if we can fit these locations into our thriller making it more engaging
for the audience.
