3. Research
• First of all I researched 3 already existing products, this helped me to see
what already existed, possibly giving me ideas that I could use in my own
product. It also helped me to know what exists so I won’t accidentally
plagiarise it, and get myself into trouble.
• I looked at what they all had in common, and looked at why they are
needed.
• This helped me to know what I needed to include in my product.
• I listened to various sound effects and songs to use throughout my
audiobook.
4. Planning
• I started off generating ideas using a mind map.
• I then found sound effects to use for my audiobook, and music for the
backing of my audiobook to create atmosphere and tension.
• I looked to see if I needed any props/ people, and the location in which
they would need to be.
• I then created a schedule for myself to help keep within the deadline
5. Time Management
• I created a day to day schedule, on what I was going to do and work on,
this helped me stick to a deadline and to keep myself organised.
• Even though I created a plan of when I was going to do things, not
everything went exactly to plan. For example I ended up spending too
much time on certain things, meaning I got behind on my work; however I
managed to sort myself out and meet the deadlines.
6. Technical Qualities
• Both short horror audio stories use
background music throughout to create
tension and atmosphere.
• Both audiobooks used sound effects
throughout to give the story more depth
7. Aural Qualities
• The background music and sound effects
effectively create tension and atmosphere
throughout my audiobook.
• The narrative fit with the sound used, and my
product used binaural audio to further create
tension and atmosphere as well as to make it
more scary.
8. Audience Appeal
• I used an interesting and intriguing storyline to
use in my audiobook that states a sense of
mystery to begin with, making the audience
want to know more, to appeal to the 15-25
age range of my targeted audience.
10. Feedback 1
• What did you like about the product?
– I think the overall production quality of the audio book is
very professional.
– The choice of music fit very well with the narrative.
– The sound effects were well chosen and edited.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– I don’t know the beginning I only know the end.
11. Feedback 2
• What did you like about the product?
– The delivery of the audio was paced well and
edited with precise timing.
– The sound effects and backing soundtrack added
more to the tension and suited the genre
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
– Volume control of the sound effects near the end
could have been lowered as they drowned out
some of the delivery
12. Feedback 3
• What did you like about the product?
– I liked the soundtrack and the generally creepy story behind the product. I like the
speaker who read the well written script for this particular clip. As he was creepy in his
tone and was very scary to listen to. The story was also very compelling and great to
listen to. It gripped me from start to finish.
• What improvements could have been made to
the product?
• A improvement that could be made and only a tiny one at that. Would probably be the
understanding of the story as I was a little confused as to what was happening at times.
Therefore I didn’t understand what was going. So maybe just make the story clearer.
13. Peer Feedback Summary
• What do you agree with from your peer
feedback?
– I am happy with how it turned out, and that people like
how it sounded, and how the background music/sound
effects work well together.
• What do you disagree with from your peer
feedback?
– People said that they did not fully understand it, yet to me,
that is the whole idea with it.
