MOSHIACH IN THE PARSHA 
ื•ึทื™ึตึผืจึธื ืึตืœึธื™ื• ื™ึฐื”ื•ึธื” ื‘ึฐึผืึตืœึนื ึตื™ ืžึทืžึฐืจึตื ื•ึฐื”ื•ึผื ื™ึนืฉืึตื‘ ืคึผึถืชึทื— ื”ึธืึนื”ึถืœ ื›ึฐึผื—ึนื ื”ึทื™ึผื•ึนื" )ื‘ืจืืฉื™ืช ื™ื—, ื( 
It was the Rebbe Rashab's 4th or 5th birthday (20 Cheshvan) 
and he went to his grandfather, the Tzemach Tzedek, to receive 
a Bracha for his new year. Entering the room of his grandfather 
and seeing him, the Rebbe Rashab burst into tears. His 
grandfather asked why he was crying and he replied: I learned 
in Parshas Vayera how Hashem appeared to Avraham Aveinu 
after having a Bris Milah. Why doesn't Hashem appear to me? 
The Tzemach Tzedek answered him: When a Yid, a Tzadik, 
decides to have a Bris at ninety nine years old, he deserves 
that Hashem reveal Himself before him. 
An important lesson lies in this story. We need to be 
Mechanech our children such that, even at a young age, they 
" 
already yearn for Kedusha and Elokus, and furthermore, 
desperately want Hashem to reveal Himself to them. 
Today, with Moshiach about to come, this lesson is especially 
pertinent. We need to be waiting and yearning even more for 
Giluy Elokus, knowing, as we do, that Moshiachโ€™s coming will 
bring about the ultimate revelation of Hashem. 
Each one of us now, including children, need to become 
aware of how much we are missing and how much we really 
want it. Like the Rebbe Rashab at 4-5 years, each of us can 
and should yearn and cry out: Why hasn't Hashem revealed 
Himself to me? I want the Geulah now!

In 5734 the vaad lโ€™hafotzas sichos suggested to the Rebbe to print the 
michtav kโ€™lali for Vov Tishrei of that year which talks about the nevua of 
Chana and about her son Shmuel hanovi (the haftarah of the first day of 
Rosh Hashanah) together with the likut of that same week lโ€™ilui nishamas 
Rebbeitzin Chana. 
The Rebbe responded with a long answer about the special zchus which we 
find by Chana and her strong connection with Moshiach. 
Below is the maโ€™aneh which the Rebbe wrote in his handwriting: 
When the Rebbe began speaking 
with increased urgency about the 
imminent arrival of Moshiach, some 
people from other frum communities 
were disturbed by it. 
In 5742, the future Gerrer Rebbe, Reb 
Pinchas Menachem Alter, merited a 
Yechidus with the Rebbe. The Rebbe 
addressed the burning issue of Geula. 
โ€œThis is the fervent wish and hope of Klal 
Yisroel, to leave Golus and to come to 
Eretz Yisroel with Moshiach Tzidkeinu. 
Indeed, as of late, I stress that Moshiach 
must come โ€˜nowโ€™." 
Here the Rebbe made a rare reference to 
himself: 
"Some have criticized my approach. How 
fortunate I am, that the criticism leveled 
against me is that I talk too much about 
Moshiach!"

In the sicha of Chof Cheshvan 5745 the Rebbe tells us that the chiyuv to be mefarsem Chassidus is placed on every 
individual in our generation. The reason for this is because in our generation the sicha of โ€œKol HaYotzeh lโ€™Milchemes 
Beis Dovidโ€ is directed to every Jew. 
In this sicha the Rebbe Rashab foretells of two types of enemies that will exist before Bias HaMoshiach; one consisting of people 
who will scoff at the existence of Hashem, and a second who will scoff at the emunah in Bias HaMoshiach. And the wonder is that 
this second group will consist of frum Yidden, people who are learned in Torah and keep Mitzvos, but they wonโ€™t be able to stand 
hearing that that Moshiach is coming. But this itself, the Rebbe tells us, is the sign that Moshiach is takah coming immediately, 
being that this is the second enemy which will exist before Bias HaMoshiach! And with this enemy all of Am Yisroel have to fight 
together. 
Then the Rebbe asks a very strong question (from which we can learn a clear horoโ€™oh about our matzav today after Gimmel 
Tammuz etc.): How could it be that we have the koโ€™ach for this avodah? Those who the sicha was said to, Tmimim who lived in a 
different time and in Lubavitch and in a time when โ€œVโ€™hoyu eneicheh roโ€™ois es moirecha,โ€ itโ€™s understood that they were shayich 
to this, but us, who know deep down our matzav in Avodah etc., how do we have the koach for this?! 
However, the Rebbe tells us, after all of the Chassidus that was spread throughout the world since Yud-Tes Kislev and the Rebbe 
Rashab etc. the world has become a kli that not only can receive Chassidus but it itself can also give out light, โ€œNeiros lโ€™hoirโ€. It is 
therefore understood that this avodah is shayich to everyone in our generation.

Entering the room of his grandfather and seeing him, the Rebbe Rashab burst into tears. His grandfather asked why he was crying and he replied: I learned in Parshas Vayera how Hashem appeared to Avraham Aveinu after having a Bris Milah. Why doesn't Hashem appear to me? The Tzemach Tzedek answered him: When a Yid, a Tzadik, decides to have a Bris at ninety nine years old, he deserves that Hashem reveal Himself before him. An important lesson lies in this story. We need to be Mechanech our children such that, even at a young age, they " already yearn for Kedusha and Elokus, and furthermore, desperately want Hashem to reveal Himself to them. Today, with Moshiach about to come, this lesson is especially pertinent. We need to be waiting and yearning even more for Giluy Elokus, knowing, as we do, that Moshiachโ€™s coming will bring about the ultimate revelation of Hashem. Each one of us now, including children, need to become aware of how much we are missing and how much we really want it. Like the Rebbe Rashab at 4-5 years, each of us can and should yearn and cry out: Why hasn't Hashem revealed Himself to me? I want the Geulah now! )Based on Sicha of Shabbos Vayero 5752( LIVING LESSONS ื’ืœื™ื•ืŸ ืœ"ื– | ืคืจืฉืช ื•ื™ืจื | ื˜"ื• ืžืจ-ื—ืฉื•ืŸ Issue 37 ื›ืชื‘ ื™ื“ ืงื•ื“ืฉ In 5734 the vaad lโ€™hafotzas sichos suggested to the Rebbe to print the michtav kโ€™lali for Vov Tishrei of that year which talks about the nevua of Chana and about her son Shmuel hanovi (the haftarah of the first day of Rosh Hashanah) together with the likut of that same week lโ€™ilui nishamas Rebbeitzin Chana. The Rebbe responded with a long answer about the special zchus which we find by Chana and her strong connection with Moshiach. Below is the maโ€™aneh which the Rebbe wrote in his handwriting: When the Rebbe began speaking with increased urgency about the imminent arrival of Moshiach, some people from other frum communities were disturbed by it. In 5742, the future Gerrer Rebbe, Reb Pinchas Menachem Alter, merited a Yechidus with the Rebbe. The Rebbe addressed the burning issue of Geula. โ€œThis is the fervent wish and hope of Klal Yisroel, to leave Golus and to come to Eretz Yisroel with Moshiach Tzidkeinu. Indeed, as of late, I stress that Moshiach must come โ€˜nowโ€™." Here the Rebbe made a rare reference to himself: "Some have criticized my approach.   • 2. In the sicha of Chof Cheshvan 5745 the Rebbe tells us that the chiyuv to be mefarsem Chassidus is placed on every individual in our generation. The reason for this is because in our generation the sicha of โ€œKol HaYotzeh lโ€™Milchemes Beis Dovidโ€ is directed to every Jew. In this sicha the Rebbe Rashab foretells of two types of enemies that will exist before Bias HaMoshiach; one consisting of people who will scoff at the existence of Hashem, and a second who will scoff at the emunah in Bias HaMoshiach. And the wonder is that this second group will consist of frum Yidden, people who are learned in Torah and keep Mitzvos, but they wonโ€™t be able to stand hearing that that Moshiach is coming. But this itself, the Rebbe tells us, is the sign that Moshiach is takah coming immediately, being that this is the second enemy which will exist before Bias HaMoshiach! And with this enemy all of Am Yisroel have to fight together. Then the Rebbe asks a very strong question (from which we can learn a clear horoโ€™oh about our matzav today after Gimmel Tammuz etc.): How could it be that we have the koโ€™ach for this avodah? Those who the sicha was said to, Tmimim who lived in a different time and in Lubavitch and in a time when โ€œVโ€™hoyu eneicheh roโ€™ois es moirecha,โ€ itโ€™s understood that they were shayich to this, but us, who know deep down our matzav in Avodah etc., how do we have the koach for this?! However, the Rebbe tells us, after all of the Chassidus that was spread throughout the world since Yud-Tes Kislev and the Rebbe Rashab etc. the world has become a kli that not only can receive Chassidus but it itself can also give out light, โ€œNeiros lโ€™hoirโ€.
