2. Digipak layout
• Digipaks consist of a book style paperboard which shows the outer works of the cd
packaging this consists of the front cover and back cover which has information about what
songs are on the album normally.
• There is then a second page which is inserted into the inside of the cd casing this has
information about the songs as well as the artists and their influence for there album.
3. Pros and Cons of a Digipak
• They are astatically pleasing due to more photography
• Because the size of the cd is bigger than a basic one they are able to
get more photography and designs in it
• Digipak don’t crack like smaller jewel cases however because there is
more paper within a digipak they are more likely to rip and start to fall
apart.
• They are more environmentally friendly as they can be made from
recycled paper.
4. Example: Katy Perry
• Katy Perry's album ‘Teenage dream’ is a good example of a successful digipack.
This is due to the close up of her face in the photography as well as the bright
colours used within the packaging and the cd this helps to capture the theme of
the album. As well as showing Katy's personality which is a selling point for her.
