A digipak is an alternative to the standard CD jewel case, consisting of a custom printed card packaging that holds CDs in plastic trays. Digipaks allow for artwork and extras like lyric books to be included. The Nirvana album "Nevermind" used a blue-themed digipak containing rare band photos and album information. Soundgarden's digipak was a 4-panel pack with one CD and information booklet. Metallica's 6-panel digipak spread content over more pages, including 2 CDs and a booklet with band history.

2. What is a digipak?
• A DigiPak is a modern, stylish way of packaging a
CD that is alternative to the standard CD jewel
case. Digipaks are a custom printed card
packaging that can hold one or more CDs which
are held in place with plastic trays. Digipaks also
allow for other panels to have interesting
artwork to be printed on or include bonus extras
such as lyric books. CD DigiPacks are especially
popular in the music industry for CD albums as
well as multiple CD disc sets. CD Digipaks give a
product an expensive professional look and feel.

3. Nirvana – ‘Nevermind’ – Digipak Analyse
Nirvana are a band similar to my artist and this is an analyse of
one of their digipaks.
This is an example of a digipak that multiple cd disks, a small
booklet containing rare photographs of the band with some brief
information about the album. The outer-casing and album cover
has a blue theme, with an image of a baby swimming under water,
with a dollar waving on front of it. The blue theme carries on
throughout the digipak except on one of the interior panels where
there is a red panel with a monkey on it. On one of the inside
panels there notebook handwritten style track listing of the songs
on the album.
The writing style used in this digipak is the same style as their
previous album, ‘Bleach’, except from the title "Nevermind" which
ties into the artwork as it is written in a an almost wavy like font.

4. Soundgarden
• This is a Soundgarden Digi-pack. This band come
under Grunge genre, the same as my artist. This
Digi-pack is a 4 panel pack, this means that it has a
front and back cover, and also has 2 pages inside
the pack. In this Digi-pack there is one CD with all
of the tracks on and a small booklet, that has
information about the artist and their history. It
also contains information about the bands music.
On the Back cover of the Digi-pack is a list of all the
songs that are on the CD inside.

5. This is an example of Metallica Digi-pack, these are a heavy meta bland my artist
does have some similarities to them in terms of their music. This Digi-pack 6 panels.
It still has a front and back cover for the bands art work, but also has a extra page
due to the 6 panels, which allows the band to add more artwork. Also, inside there
are 3 pages which means that the CD can be spread out more, or another CD/
Booklet can be added. In this album there is 2 CD and one Booklet. The Layout has
been changed for Metallica, for example they have got the albums songs on the back
of the Digi-pack but have also got the song names written on the CDs so that can be
easily referred to, when the customer is using the Digi-pack. The Booklet contains
information about Metallica and their music, it also contains history of the band and
its members.
