How effective is the combination
of your main product and ancillary
texts?
EVALUATION QUESTION 2
TEXT AND FONT
I used the same font type and text over my digipak and poster, this uses
synergy and presents both products in the same way. This shows they are
from the same main product. I used the fonts Dutch Tulip Font and
Metropolis Thin Font Family.
I used the same Warner Music Group logo on both my digipak and poster,
this shows the production company of the song and artist and again uses
synergy. I also used the iTunes logo to use further promotion.
IMAGES
I have used the same actor within the image (Owen) to show who the artist is
and to create a sense of convergence across my ancillary tasks. I have used
similar poses to create the same look and I have used similar locations
throughout the images on my poster and digipak, this uses synergy and
shows my target audience that they are part of one main product.
SOCIAL MEDIA
Within the age of media 2.0 and the age of my target audience, I would use
social media sites to promote my music video. I could include hashtags on
Twitter to allow the video to trend, and post exclusive clips of the video on
Instagram and Facebook.
Using social media allows new technologies to be accessed and used by the
target audience, it allows my product to be shared virally and gives more
access.
ADVERTISEMENT
• Radio advertisements
• Television adverts (MTV)
• TV stations
• Billboards and magazines
As well as using the poster and digipak I created, using the advertisements I
listed can allow my product to be pushed and aired more. This gives more
access to my target audience and to my secondary target audience. This will
include the same font and image types as my ancillary tasks and use the same
song, using synergy and convergence.
WEBSITE
I have included a website link on my poster, this gives access to a web link
that includes features about my product. This uses online and social media,
incorporating features that are used in media 2.0. This gives the target
audience sense of ownership and identity, using Blulmer and Katz uses and
gratifications.
The website will include features like:
• Interviews
• Competitions
• Video and song extracts
• Merchandise links
• Photographs
• Trailers
MEDIA 2.0
Within the age of media 2.0, social media and technologies are used to
promote and show products. Using social media apps and websites give
access to my target audience. This gives a sense of ownership to the audience
and favours them by using technology that they use on a daily basis.
This allows viral promotion and access on mobile phones and by using apps.
The age of my target audience incorporates the age of media 2.0 and focuses
on social media and the viral internet. I used promotion of iTunes on my
poster, showing the access of my product on Apple and Android, showing
media within the age of 2.0
As I used the iTunes logo to promote my product within media 2.0 on my
poster, this could lead my target audience to show an exclusive release of the
track (iTunes) and then an exclusive release of the video (YouTube). This
allows people and my target audience to post comments and express their
opinion.

  • 3. IMAGES I have used the same actor within the image (Owen) to show who the artist is and to create a sense of convergence across my ancillary tasks. I have used similar poses to create the same look and I have used similar locations throughout the images on my poster and digipak, this uses synergy and shows my target audience that they are part of one main product.
  • 4. SOCIAL MEDIA Within the age of media 2.0 and the age of my target audience, I would use social media sites to promote my music video. I could include hashtags on Twitter to allow the video to trend, and post exclusive clips of the video on Instagram and Facebook. Using social media allows new technologies to be accessed and used by the target audience, it allows my product to be shared virally and gives more access.

ADVERTISEMENT • Radio advertisements • Television adverts (MTV) • TV stations • Billboards and magazines As well as using the poster and digipak I created, using the advertisements I listed can allow my product to be pushed and aired more. This gives more access to my target audience and to my secondary target audience. This will include the same font and image types as my ancillary tasks and use the same song, using synergy and convergence.
  • 6. WEBSITE I have included a website link on my poster, this gives access to a web link that includes features about my product. This uses online and social media, incorporating features that are used in media 2.0. This gives the target audience sense of ownership and identity, using Blulmer and Katz uses and gratifications. The website will include features like: • Interviews • Competitions • Video and song extracts • Merchandise links • Photographs • Trailers
  • 7. MEDIA 2.0 Within the age of media 2.0, social media and technologies are used to promote and show products. Using social media apps and websites give access to my target audience. This gives a sense of ownership to the audience and favours them by using technology that they use on a daily basis. This allows viral promotion and access on mobile phones and by using apps. The age of my target audience incorporates the age of media 2.0 and focuses on social media and the viral internet. I used promotion of iTunes on my poster, showing the access of my product on Apple and Android, showing media within the age of 2.0

As I used the iTunes logo to promote my product within media 2.0 on my poster, this could lead my target audience to show an exclusive release of the track (iTunes) and then an exclusive release of the video (YouTube). This allows people and my target audience to post comments and express their opinion.
