Book Review
McMahon, R.J. amp; Forehand, R.L. (2003). Helping the noncompliant child: family based treatment
for oppositional behavior. New York: The Guilford Press.
Summary
The purpose of this book is to provide a detailed description of the empirically validated Helping the
Non Compliant Child (HNC) program a program created to help parents improve their children s (ages
3 8) noncompliant and oppositional behavior.
Chapter 1 provides background information on noncompliance by discussing the role of compliance
and noncompliance in normal development and by highlighting the role of noncompliance in the
development of conduct problems early in life. The authors stress that current research ... Show more

Progression to each new skill is determined by the therapist s use of behavioral criteria collected
during each session.
Chapter 4 describes the assessment methods and procedures that the therapist should use. Numerous
sample documents are provided to facilitate and standardize data collection. This data gathered during
assessment is utilized to formulate a treatment plan and, ultimately, to evaluate the success of the
treatment. When the problems present themselves in the school setting or with peers and/or siblings,
information is obtained concerning those areas as well.
Chapters 5 7 provide detailed instructions on the implementation of the HNC. Chapter 5 starts with a
description of the feedback session where the therapist presents his conceptualization of the child s
noncompliance and recommendations for intervention. A detailed sample program outline is also
provided.
In Chapter 6, the Phase I skills of differential attention attending, rewarding and ignoring are
explained in detail. As soon as the first session begins, the therapist models appropriate parenting
skills by explaining the extinction procedure (ignoring) will occur should the child interrupt the
conversation between the parent and therapist and by demonstrating positive reinforcement (attends
and rewards) should the child

(How it s made engine block) That is cool because if you think about it when you open your car hood
you wouldn t be able to see the pistons. There are little passages in the engine block that allow coolant
to cycle around the engine block. (How it s made engine block) That is great so that the engine block

Colorado First Light Infantry
Colorado First Light Infantry The Colorado First Light Infantry was an anti militia group in the U.S.
that only consisted of three members. Although this homegrown terrorist group was small and short
lived, it served as a precursor to another larger organization that would be formed. The Colorado First
Light Infantry was founded by Ronald David Cole after the events of the Waco siege in Texas in 1993.
Cole was at the time a member of the Branch Davidians and ended up writing a pro Branch Davidians
book Sinister Twilight, where he declared that his task was to complete the mission David Koresh
failed to fulfill. In 1994, he met with the notorious domestic terrorist Timothy McVeigh prior to the
Oklahoma City bombing (Brennan 1995). In ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All three men trained themselves on weapon use and explosives. The warrant that led to their arrest
was actually obtained greatly in part to the testimony of an ex Marine Daniel McNasby. McNasby had
casually been invited to go shooting with the three when Cole had told him of his militia group and
many of their goals. They wanted McNasby to join to aid them in military tactics and complete their
firing squad. The ex Marine eventually trained with these men five or six more times throughout the
following months and came to find out that Cole had contact with several terrorist groups. Cole told
McNasby that he was trying to keep in constant touch with other terrorist groups throughout the world
and was trying to organize all anti government groups against their common enemy (43). This was the
foundation for the forming of the North American Liberation Army. The NALA was Cole s attempt to
unite groups from around the world whom he says are fighting oppression from their government.
Cole wanted the NALA to act as a link to these groups in the hope that a free exchange of ideas will
help them unify and support each other. McNasby did not associate himself with Cole s militia groups,
but only met with the three men as a sort of shooting club. Thanks to McNasby s efforts, the home of
Cole, Kennett, and Terry was raided and each man arrested.

Maryland Rule 5-901 Document Analysis
Johnson further maintains that the circuit court erred by admitting documents that were not properly
authenticated. The State counters that the appearance and contents of each of the documents contained
sufficient information from which the factfinder could have reasonably concluded that the document
was what the State purported it to be. We hold that the documents admitted against Johnson were
properly authenticated. Maryland Rule 5 901 provides that generally:
The requirement of authentication or identification as a condition precedent to admissibility is
satisfied by evidence sufficient to support a finding that the matter in question is what its proponent
claims.
Md. Rule 5 901(a). In order for evidence to be properly authenticated, the trial judge must determine
that there is proof from which a reasonable juror could find that the evidence is what the proponent
claims it to be. Sublet v. State, 442 Md. 632, 638 (2015). Indeed, the purpose of Md. Rule 5 901 is to
ensure that the evidence s proponent has satisfied a burden of production sufficient to permit a
reasonable fact finder to conclude the evidence is what its proponent claims it to be. The standard for

The Positive Causes Of The American Revolution
Amid growing tension between England and her American Colonists, the British passed the
Intolerable Acts, a law that created a punitive tax for the destruction of Tea in the Boston Harbor.
Though the British saw the Intolerable Acts as a compromise in dealing with the vandalism, the
American colonists were enraged. Their anger led to the creation of the First Continental Congress and
paved the path for the conflict of the American Revolution.
The American Revolution lasted from 1754 to 1788 with the commission of the intolerable acts
occurring in the midst of this during 1774. Great Britain taxed the colonists after the French and
Indian war. This battle marked the beginning of the Revolution. Colonists had been controlling their
own government for years when the British saw fit to tax the 13 colonies. The intolerable acts only
served to fuel the colonist s anger and ultimately ended in the independence of those colonies. Though
the effects may have been negative for the British, the positive outcome for the Americans marked the
beginning of The United States history.
There was a series of events leading up to the intolerable acts that all added to the ire of the colonists.
With a fitting name, the coercive acts were a ploy by the British to gain back control of the colonies.
The Boston Port Act served to close the trade in the city and shut down all commerce there.
Massachusetts Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act were both attempts to gain back

Linear Macromolecules
Deoxyribonucleic acid, or DNA, like proteins, is a linear macromolecule found in all living cells. In
contrast to proteins, however, it is build up of only 4 different types of building blocks, called
nucleotides. Nucleotides are composed of a base, being either a purine or pyrimidine group, and a 2
deoxyribosyl tri phosphate. The four types of bases composing the sequence of DNA are purines and
pyramidines. The sugar is a 2 deoxy ribose which is phosphorylated at its 5 hydroxyl group. Free
nucleotides contain either one, two or three phosphates representing the mono , di , or triphosphate
form of the nucleotide, the latter being known as dATP, dGTP, dTTP, and dCTP. Single DNA strands
are not stable, but associate with a second strand to

Chew On This And Its Effect On The Food Industry
Food, noun, is any nutritious substance that people or animals eat or drink in order to maintain life and
growth. Many people don t know a lot about where their food came from and who makes it, but there
is way more behind the food. Working conditions are a huge problem across the country and world.
To start with, many workers get injured and sick doing this job. There are many reports about body
parts getting amputated during the meat process, but the factory kept running and the limb was sold to
the public. The book Chew on This has a list of injuries that includes: Employee s Eye Injured When
Struck By Hanging Hook, Employee Killed When Head Crushed by Conveyor, and many more.
Employees are also susceptive to get many diseases from touching the raw meat. Some of these
diseases are brucellosis, erysipeloid, leptospirosis, and dermatophytosis. ... Show more content on

The production lines go fast so they can keep up or beat their competitors and a result of that is all the
injuries just listed. It also jeopardizes the safety of the food and most importantly, the employees.
Lastly, some workers aren t allowed to take a break just to use the restrooms. Some of the employees
are forced to pee on the floor near the meat that people would eat soon. And they are still working, so
they don t have enough time to stop and wash their hands which is another problem with the assembly
line going so fast.
Given these points, people need to know the working conditions of staffers because those are the
people that are making the food you are about to eat and there could be a problem behind those closed

3.1 The Makishi Masquerades among the Chokwe and related people
The Chokwe are famous for art items produced to celebrate and legalize the royal court. The art
objects can include elaborately carved stools and chairs used as thrones. Most of the sculptures are
portraits, which represent the royal ancestry. Staffs, sceptres, and spears are among other implements
sculpted to celebrate the court. Chokwe origin can perhaps be traced to the Mbuti and Pygmies.
Between 1600 and 1850 they were under extensive influence from the Lunda states and were centrally
located in Angola. In the second half of the 19th century though, substantial improvement of the trade
routes between the Chokwe homelands and the Angolan coast led to increased trade of ivory and
rubber. Wealth acquired from this allowed the Chokwe kingdom to develop, eventually overtaking the
Lunda states that had held sway over them for so long. Their success was short lived, however, the

Response To Lucretius Definition Of Pain
Here, we get a glimpse of Lucretius definition of pain. For him, a healthy body filled with pleasure is
one where all the atoms inside the body including the ones constructing the mind and the spirit are
situated at the appropriate or required positions. Any significant deviation from the said position is
interpreted by us as pain. Thus, to Lucretius, the hedonist, a pleasurable and happy life is one that is
absent from pain, and a man in either in pain or pleasure, though he does mention cases, though poorly
explained, where the pain is considered as pleasure during sexual affairs. The binary division between
pleasure and pain will later help us understand Lucretius motivation for writing the poem and more
importantly decipher as to whether ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sheer volume of ideas passing through our minds, coupled with the fact that motion of our limbs
also originate from the heart when the mind first creates the image of our legs moving forward, seem
too big to be sufficiently accounted for by irregular swerves. It would be as ridiculous as imagining
oranges growing on apple trees, i.e. producing arguments having no observational or logical basis.
Furthermore, Lucretius emphasizes on the regularity of human thoughts of a large population: we all
fear the unknown, shy from pain and are drawn towards pleasure, tend not to rely upon reason unless
encouraged by others. He says humans originally do not differ in personality (just as all lions are
predatory and goats cowardly) and he assigns the variety we encounter to the difference in culture and
upbringing. Thus, it seems reasonable to conclude not all thoughts are based on the utter
unpredictability of the swerve and human nature is largely

Strengths And Weaknesses Of Assessment Research
(REQUIRED) 1a) Identify one strength in the assessment plan and explain why it is a strength in
relation to the learning goals of this unit.
One important strength is the sequence of testing along the unit. Throughout the diagnostic test,
teacher can determine the student s existing knowledge and design the lessons for the rest of the week.
The formative comprehensive assessment on day 6 will make the teacher able to check for
understanding, adjust the lesson, and provide immediate feedback to the students. Mid unit formative
assessment on day 11, will evaluate student s knowledge related to the lesson, identifying strengths,
weaknesses, and target areas that need to be reviewed. The summative assessment at the end of the
unit, will evaluate cumulative learning, skill acquisition, and academic achievement. The results of
each assessment, will make the teacher able to assist the students to accomplish the learning goals of
the unit determined by the state adapted standards

relation to the learning goals of this unit.
One weakness in the assessment plan is the implementation of assessments. There is no difference in
the form of assessments, all of them are individual, and paper and pen are the only materials to use.

The Pros And Cons Of Living Off-Campus
Living off campus provides challenging opportunities for personal growth (Oberlin College, 2017).
Students who live in far areas prefer to have a rental house in order to have an easy access to their
school. In addition, Chapman University (2017), states that living off campus offers benefits and new
experiences. It leads to a more independent lifestyle, build a good relationship between the landlord
and tenants, deals with the different personalities of roommates, commuting, wise household
budgeting (e.g. to pay for rent, foods, gas, and other utilities of their rental house). On the other hand,
students that live off campus when not supervised may lead them to risks.

Pregnancy Or The Coexistence Of An Intrauterine And An...
Heterotopic pregnancy or the coexistence of an intrauterine and an extrauterine pregnancy occurs in
about 1 out of 30,000 pregnancies. Between Assisted Reproductive Techniques and ovulation
induction, it is said to occur more commonly with the former. The patient presented in this case is a 29
year old primigravid who underwent ovulation induction with Clomiphene Citrate and was later on
diagnosed to have both an intrauterine and a non viable extrauterine pregnancy. The management for
this kind of pregnancy can be medical, surgical or expectant. The patient in this case was managed
expectantly. This case study presents a review or literature on heterotopic pregnancy, and describes
how this rare type of pregnancy developed in this index patient, how it is diagnosed and managed, and
its possible consequences to the mother and the live fetus.
Keywords: heterotopic pregnancy, ectopic pregnancy, Assisted Reproductive Technique, Clomiphene
citrate
INTRODUCTION A heterotopic type of pregnancy is considered a complication and not a natural
consequence because it usually happens to women who are at high risk for having an ectopic
pregnancy or those who undergo ovulation induction1, as seen in our index case. It is a simultaneous
occurrence of an intrauterine and an ectopic pregnancy which can implant anywhere outside of the
endometrial cavity. In 93.9 percent of cases, the ectopic pregnancy usually occurs in the fallopian
tubes but other sites such as the ovaries and the

The Power Of Adolf Hitler
There are many powerful leaders around the world that are one with the words, but one really stands
out: Adolf Hitler. He was very persuasive and he used the power of words to his competence to make
people stand beside him. Hitler was not a pleasant man, but he was a very astute one; he could
convince so many people that Jewish people were ominous in a couple of short sentences.
Additionally, he was so strong in various ways and that is why one may think of Adolf Hitler as the
most effective in using the power of words and language to influence others than any other man. Hitler
was always very persuasive, and three reasons why include: the way he uses words to make the
message persuasive, how he uses propaganda to convince people, and the way he uses words to create
emotion. To begin, the way Hitler uses words to make the message persuasive is very imperative.
Adolf Hitler always convinced people that Jews were abhorrent people, and the way he did that was
scare tactics. People frequently make decisions off of fear, so he chose to tell people about the scary
things that Jews would do if they took over. To add, this frightened Germans, making them rancor all
Jews, which put Hitler in the right direction to becoming a powerful leader. Even though everything
Hitler said about Jews was apocryphal, he made a lot of people believe that it was accurate, because of
the way he convinced people and got them on his side. In the political field he refuses the state the

The Treatment Of American Prisons
In America, people are sent to prison with the goal for the convict to be punished, to prevent them
from doing bad things again, and to deter others from breaking the law. Each year, millions of people
are released from prison, but roughly two thirds of the prisoners who were released reoffend within
three years of leaving prison, often with a more serious and violent offense. This can be attributed to
the ineffective correction style that America has adopted: punishment. American prisons have focused
more on punishment than correcting the character, attitudes, and or behavior of the convicted offender
and this has held an adverse effect on one s incorporation into society after incarceration. The
treatment of prisoners while they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If an employee shows disorderly and unprofessional conduct in the work place, then he or she gets
fired. Punishment is a method to lessen wrong and unwanted behavior. It is usually painful, physically
or psychological, so a person will avoid punishment. In an issue about punishment by S.G. Friedman
and Bobbi Brinker, they state that Punishment is what most of us do...first. It is our teaching legacy
passed down from generation to generation. We are virtually surrounded by punishing strategies used
to influence our behavior: From overdue library books to...fines, penalties and reprimands whirl
around us like leaves in a storm. For many of us, to give up punishment as our primary tool with
which to influence negative behavior is to leave us empty handed. Because punishment works for
many to discourage bad behavior, the idea of American prisons using punishment is justified if you
punish the prisoner, they would be corrected, and their criminal acts would be deterred. Prison is the
most severe type of punishment that America institutes. It is a physical and psychological attack on the
prisoner. It affects the prisoners material possessions because they can earn little or no income while
incarcerated, they may lose their job, and spend their life savings. It affects the prisoner s body
because he or she is under the control of others and very little freedom exists for him or her.

Implementing A New Business At Abc Medical Center
Creating a new business is challenging, expanding an already established facility can be even more
daunting. To ensure a successful venture requires the right set of marketing skills. Marketing is
execution of the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of goods, ideas, and services
(Berkowitz, 2006, p.4). In health care facilities this means developing a product or service to address
health issues; establishing a price individuals and insurance companies are willing to pay; knowing
what place is convenient for both the patient and the provider to give and receive treatment. Lastly,
promotion of the product or service to ensure patients know what is available to address the health
needs of the general public. These four ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be accomplished through strategic marketing skills. Strengths for this practice include
orthopedic surgeons who are dedicated to their field, have the ability to offer diagnostics, surgery,
follow up physical therapy in one location, and deliver exceptional patient care. Whereas weaknesses
include being a new orthopedic practice in a highly saturated area with a less generous marketing fund
than competitors. Potential customers include individuals with orthopedic needs, more specifically,
those requiring hip and knee replacements, however other orthopedic patient cases can be evaluated
for treatment. Satisfaction and repeat business can be achieved from the proper level of marketing.
The current market is strong and has the potential of building a new and continued customer base,
however, there are several other competing facilities with much larger marketing budgets that may be
able to reach more customers on a broader base. Product, according to Eric Berkowitz (2011), is
goods, services, or ideas offered by a health care facility. This is the first area to address in marketing.
Products available with in ABC Medical Center are both tangible and intangible. Because the
intangible products are harder to evaluate, marketing has to show the tangible benefits from their use
(Berkowitz, 2011, p. 214). The products that ABC Medical Center has to offer is the availability of
diagnostic screening, orthopedic surgery, and physical therapy for its patients. The

Key Events in the Reformation
Thesis Statement: These key events reforming religion are what shaped the world for good and for bad
in the 14th to the 19th century. The Reformation was full of war and inventions that many had never
seen before, affecting the religious and social political systems in positive and negative ways. The first
event in the Reformation was the Printing Press. The Printing Press enabled the circulation of the
bible, starting the spread of Christianity and the Catholics. The Printing Press was created by Johannes
Gutenberg in 1450. Before the Printing Press the bible had to be printed by hand, which meant that the
copies had to be written word for word. Because they had to be written word for word only the

There were wars during this Reformation in the 16th and 17th century that took place in many parts of
Europe. The first wars took place in central and southern Europe, between the Christians and the
Muslims. The Christians and the Muslims had been fighting each other ever since the Crusades from
the 11th to the 13th century; also in the Spanish Reconquista from the 8th to the 15th century; and the
Ottoman Wars in Europe from the 15th to 19th century. The wars that were the longest lasting were
the wars between the Protestant and the Catholics. These wars were some of the bloodiest wars in the
European wars of religion. The war between the Protestants and Catholics is called the 30 Year s War
which was the longest in the war of religions. The Counter Reformation came better late than never as
they were much needed. The Council of Trent had a major role in the counter. The Council of Trent
fought for the Reformers in every way possible. The Council of Trent believed in the areas of
tradition, original sin, justification, sacraments, the holy masses, and the veneration (honoring) of
saints. The Council of Trent and the Catholics fought to become more spiritual, educated, and literate.
The reformation was a long and bloody time. There are many ways to look at this time period. Some

is a very delicate sensitive part of the body and can really affect soldiers in any way shape or form
when it comes to a war.
Even before Tim O Brien stepped onto the battlefield, the war had already damaged his heart. In the
short story On the Rainy River Tim O Brien opened up a letter that would change his mind forever: I

He cares about what people think too much. Even though he personally didn t want to fight, he felt the
need to so that he didn t disappoint, nor embarrass his family and friends. These feelings he had really
messed with his head at especially with his heart. He has passion in fighting for his country and will
risk his own life to protect this land, but it s also hurting him inside. This is toxic for any soldier that is
about to enter the war. The heart and the feelings that come along with it can truly mess with soldiers
minds.
Mentally soldiers have to deal with brutal things that the war throws at them causing their hearts to
suffer. In the short story, The Things They Carried , Jimmy Cross, a soldier, had a preoccupied heart
for his love interest at home, which helped his heart in the war until it was used as a weapon: He hated
himself. He had loved Martha more than his men, and as a consequence Lavender was now dead, and
this was something he would have to carry like a stone in his stomach for the rest of the war (16).
Cross is convinced that his feelings for a Martha contributed to Lavender s death. Because his feelings
were so strong, he wasn t as focused as he should ve been, which costed him a buddy. This is a true
eye awakening in how powerful the heart and the feelings that come along with it is. Cross could only

Nt1310 Unit 3 Assignment Of Encryption Techniques
1. Type of operations used for transforming plaintext to cipher text. All encryption algorithms are
based on two general principles. Those are substitution, in which each element in the plain text is
mapped into another element and transposition in which elements in the plaintext are rearranged. The
fundamental requirement is that no information be lost. Most systems referred to as product systems,
involved multiple stages of substitution and transposition [2].
2. The number of keys used: If sender and receiver use the same key, the system is referred to as
symmetric, single key or secret key conventional encryption. If the sender and the receiver each uses a

Stephen Crane s Maggie A Girl Of The Streets
Stephan Crane, a famous novel writer of the 19th century, used many experiences from the common
people from his time period in order to make his stories more realistic rather than romantic. One
particular story, Maggie: a Girl of the Streets, focuses on the lower class inhabitants of New York City
and how their experiences affected their lives and futures. By depicting this, Crane shows how quickly
one of his characters, Maggie, becomes corrupted by her abusive environment. Stephen Crane perverts
the romantic ideal by making Maggie succumb to her abusive environment rather than allowing her to
escape the tenements. Although Maggie s longs to escape the bleak world of the Bowery, she cannot.
Maggie was fated to never escape the Bowery, despite her efforts to better her life. ... Show more

Analyzing Budweiser Commercial Born The Hard Way
Attention grabber will go here. Background information will go here. In this essay I will analyze the
Budweiser commercial Born The Hard Way by summarizing the text, applying the storytelling and
race analytical methods, and discussing a source which strengthens the claim that this video ultimately
supports American hegemony and ideology. Summary The Budweiser commercial, Born the Hard
Way , which I will refer to as the text , begins with a medium shot of the protagonist, Adolphus Busch
in a bar. A person nearly off the right side of the frame comments (in an accent) that the protagonist
doesn t look like he s from around here . The commercial then uses flashback to show the journey the
protagonist has taken to get to the, as yet unspecified ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first example is an allusion to the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn wherein our protagonist is
shown on a riverboat with a free black man presumably somewhere along the Mississippi. This
allusion contrasts to the immigrant s story of the protagonist and places into historical context the less
than immigrant status of black people who were already living in America at the time, while at the
same time showing how these two communities were connected and had something in common. The
second example of intertextuality would be to that of the Martin Scorsese film, Gangs of New York ,
specifically in the go back home scene of the text. In Scorsese s text, immigrants are one the one hand
shown as being criminals, but on the other are also as being discriminated against to such a degree that
it was very difficult for them to integrate into the wider American culture. Our text acknowledges this
aspect of American history through this intertextuality but by showing our protagonist in a positive
light and not being embittered or turning to crime it rejects the idea that immigrants are criminals and
argues they are vital to America s economic and cultural success. I admit to enjoying both of these
intertextual examples and I felt they were appropriate to the story being

Future The Matrix
THE REIVEW ABOUT THE FUTURE THE MATRIX
Directed by Larry Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski
This documentary provides an entertaining and compelling introduction to the new biology. It shows
us what the future of medicine and healthcare will look like. Abilities that conventional science still
treats as anomalies but that frontier scientists are taking seriously. It provides some of the theories that
are reshaping the study of biology, health, physiology, and medicine. It s an ambitious film that hits
the mark in introducing the general public to difficult subjects (medicine, physics, healing) in an
engaging and easy to understand way.
The film is captivating in its content, presentation and flow, working from personal stories of healing
that defies conventional explanation to mainstream medical and scientific knowledge to frontier
theories and explanations. It leads us on a journey into the body that many people may find both
surprising and changing, taking us beyond the cells to the bioenergetics and bio informational fields
that may actually regulate the body and its systems at its deepest, most fundamental level. ... Show

The Basic Principles Of The Elizabethan Poor Laws Of 1601
The basic principles of the Elizabethan Poor Laws of 1601 were local investigation and administration
of relief, work as a component of all assistance, and categorization of the poor into three groups: the
able bodied poor, the impotent poor, and dependent children (Day Schiele, 2013, p. 104). Basically,
creating a welfare system to help assist the poor, implementing programs to get people working, and
categorizing the poor as worthy or unworthy poor. Examples of this in the present social welfare
system are TANF, unemployment insurance, Social Security, SSI, and SDI. Within the TANF and
unemployment program, there is a job search requirement to encourage people to find work. Also,
much like the Elizabethan Poor Laws, people are categorized to receive specific benefits based on
whether they can work or not, like SSI, which is for people who are currently unable to work because
of old age or disability. Worthy poor are the people who have worked, but no longer can because they
are aged or disabled , the people who can work if they want to, or can support their families if they
work hard enough (Day Schiele, 2013, p. 10). Unworthy poor is anyone else who has never worked
and will not work. It is assumed that these people are poor because of some kind of willfulness,
laziness, or refusal to be productive and support themselves (Longmore, 1997).
Two prominent ideologies that play a role in the development of social welfare policy and social
welfare programs are

Gabriel is an angel who serves as a messenger for God to certain people. He is one of the three
archangels. Gabriel is mentioned in both the Old and the New Testaments of the Bible. First, in the
Old Testament, Gabriel appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions. Gabriel is described as,
one who looked like man, as he interprets Daniel s visions. He speaks to Daniel while he is sleeping.
After Gabriel s first visit, Daniel becomes tired and sick for days. Gabriel later visits Daniel again
providing him with more insight and understanding in an answered prayer.
In the New Testament, Gabriel, described as an angel of the Lord, first appears to Zacharias, the father
of John the Baptist. He tells him, Fear not, Zacharias: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of Sex Offender
The future and the safety of the kids today society is very important. Children safety is mainly
important because later in life they will be the ones who will oversee how things work in society. If
kids are put into the situation were they can get harmed by a sex offender this can have a domino
effect on how their life can resolve. Being sexually abuse by a sex offender can be very traumatizing
and take a mental toll on the child that is being abused. Sex offender are qualified as unlawful because
of the level of harm that can be brought to a kid. If kids are not mental stable than how will they be
able to go through everyday life as an adult. Many sex offenders became sex offender because they
may have been abused by another sex offender when they were a child. Drastic measure should be
taken to keep children out of harm s way. Sex offenders should have a designated area to live in, they
should work in a work environment where there are minimum to no kids, and they should have a
monthly evaluation on their mental health.
Sex offenders are required to send out a post card to everyone in the neighborhood to inform the
community that they will be living nearby. On the post card that the sex offenders send out states their
name, height, weight, race, and age. Sending out a post card is a good tactic to warn the neighborhood
of a sex offender nearby but this still isn t completely safe for children that live in the area. Sex
offenders shouldn t be able to live in any area

another term for renting, it is a way to make a car purchase a vehicle with less risk. The risk is reduced
as you have the option to return the car after the term ends, meaning you don t ever have to worry
about owning more than the car is worth. Cars are not generally assets that store value, their value

Hayek Rawls Second Principle Of Justice
Hayek on Rawls Second Principle of Justice
For Friedrich Hayek, Napoleon s famous declaration la carriere ouverte aux talents , captured the
essence of the classical liberal movement, namely that all individuals should have equal opportunity to
improve their condition in society, and that the state s role is to eliminate any institutional advantages
that may privilege some over others (Hayek, V) . In Equality, Value, and Merit, Hayek argues that this
liberal principle been corrupted by egalitarians who now wish the state to not only strive to eliminate
institutional advantages, but all advantages, including individual ones, which may lead to some
individuals accruing more wealth than others (V). Individual advantages, Hayek maintains, are ...

This clearly clashes with the underlying philosophy of John Rawls second principle of justice, namely
that inequalities are arbitrary unless it is reasonable to expect that they will work out for everyone s
advantage (Rawls, 165). This is because, fundamentally, Hayek has a different conception of the
meaning of justice than does Rawls. For Hayek, justice is to be thought of in the same way that liberty
and coercion are, that is, that it ought to be confined to the deliberate treatment of men by other men
(Hayek, VI). Thus, to Hayek to associate justice with the distribution of goods in the market makes no
sense, for it would be equivalent to claiming that the distribution of height among persons is also a
matter of justice, for what determines such distributions is not the will of any person or persons, but
rather the outcomes of uncontrollable forces (VI). Thus, inequalities of wealth are neither just nor
unjust, rather it is merely the outcome of an unequal distribution of individual abilities, which is the
amoral product of nature and an amoral market system which rewards those abilities on the basis of
their value to

The Characteristics Of Anzac Soldiers In The First World War
On 25 April 1915, during the First World War, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps
(ANZAC) landed on the Gallipoli peninsula as part of the 70,000 strong Anglo French operation
against Turkey to capture the Dardanelles. Over one million men were involved in the ill fated
Gallipoli campaign which lasted eight and a half months. Of the 44,070 soldiers who were killed
during the campaign, 8,000 were Australian. It was the first time that Australians went into combat as
Australians, giving Australia a sense of identity and a place in the world.
World War 1 war correspondent and historian Charles Edwin Woodrow Bean believed that Anzac Day
1915 saw the birth of the Australian national consciousness maintaining that The big thing in the
war...was the discovery of the character of Australian men. It was a character which rushed the hills at
Gallipoli and held on there during the long afternoon and night, when everything seemed to have gone
wrong and there was only the barest hope at the end of success . Gallipoli also saw the birth of the
Anzac Legend or Anzac Spirit . A term used to illustrate the characteristics of ANZAC soldiers which
encompassed bravery, endurance, ingenuity, comradeship and what Australians call mateship . The
term developed as a central part of Australia s collective memory and national identity growing
popular largely due to Bean s works.

Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca is best known as the first Spaniard to explore what we now consider to

examining the exploration of the modern United States, there are many arguments that have to do with
the entitlement to the land and the motivations behind settling in the first place. Most explorers were

Ideo s Innovation Process And The Development Of...
IDEO s innovation process is unique when compared to traditional companies and is constantly
evolving. Brainstorming and prototyping are tools that are central for the development of innovation.
Effective brainstorming, allows the group to stay focused on the topic, generates many ideas early,
defers judgment to avoid interrupting the flow of ideas, builds on the ideas of others, and can be
visual.
Client engagement is key and is accomplished by frequent meetings. Whereas, rapid prototyping
followed the three R s (Rough use hand drawn sketches, speed is more important than making it
pretty, Rapid do not get emotionally attached, and Right work on the right problems and tasks) is used
to quickly communicate ideas. The real aha s in product development occur here. IDEO s innovation

The ex Marine eventually trained with these men five or six more times throughout the following months and came to find out that Cole had contact with several terrorist groups. Cole told McNasby that he was trying to keep in constant touch with other terrorist groups throughout the world and was trying to organize all anti government groups against their common enemy (43). This was the foundation for the forming of the North American Liberation Army. The NALA was Cole s attempt to unite groups from around the world whom he says are fighting oppression from their government. Cole wanted the NALA to act as a link to these groups in the hope that a free exchange of ideas will help them unify and support each other. McNasby did not associate himself with Cole s militia groups, but only met with the three men as a sort of shooting club. Thanks to McNasby s efforts, the home of Cole, Kennett, and Terry was raided and each man arrested. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The State counters that the appearance and contents of each of the documents contained sufficient information from which the factfinder could have reasonably concluded that the document was what the State purported it to be. • 7. The Positive Causes Of The American Revolution Amid growing tension between England and her American Colonists, the British passed the Intolerable Acts, a law that created a punitive tax for the destruction of Tea in the Boston Harbor. Though the British saw the Intolerable Acts as a compromise in dealing with the vandalism, the American colonists were enraged. Their anger led to the creation of the First Continental Congress and paved the path for the conflict of the American Revolution. The American Revolution lasted from 1754 to 1788 with the commission of the intolerable acts occurring in the midst of this during 1774. Great Britain taxed the colonists after the French and Indian war. This battle marked the beginning of the Revolution. Colonists had been controlling their own government for years when the British saw fit to tax the 13 colonies. The intolerable acts only served to fuel the colonist s anger and ultimately ended in the independence of those colonies. Though the effects may have been negative for the British, the positive outcome for the Americans marked the beginning of The United States history. There was a series of events leading up to the intolerable acts that all added to the ire of the colonists. With a fitting name, the coercive acts were a ploy by the British to gain back control of the colonies. The Boston Port Act served to close the trade in the city and shut down all commerce there. • 11. 3. CONTEXT OF CEREMONIAL AFRICAN MASKING AND THE BASIC CHARACTERISTICS THEREOF 3.1 The Makishi Masquerades among the Chokwe and related people The Chokwe are famous for art items produced to celebrate and legalize the royal court. The art objects can include elaborately carved stools and chairs used as thrones. Most of the sculptures are portraits, which represent the royal ancestry. Staffs, sceptres, and spears are among other implements sculpted to celebrate the court. Chokwe origin can perhaps be traced to the Mbuti and Pygmies. Between 1600 and 1850 they were under extensive influence from the Lunda states and were centrally located in Angola. In the second half of the 19th century though, substantial improvement of the trade routes between the Chokwe homelands and the Angolan coast led to increased trade of ivory and rubber. Wealth acquired from this allowed the Chokwe kingdom to develop, eventually overtaking the Lunda states that had held sway over them for so long. For him, a healthy body filled with pleasure is one where all the atoms inside the body including the ones constructing the mind and the spirit are situated at the appropriate or required positions. Thus, to Lucretius, the hedonist, a pleasurable and happy life is one that is absent from pain, and a man in either in pain or pleasure, though he does mention cases, though poorly explained, where the pain is considered as pleasure during sexual affairs. Furthermore, Lucretius emphasizes on the regularity of human thoughts of a large population: we all fear the unknown, shy from pain and are drawn towards pleasure, tend not to rely upon reason unless encouraged by others. Additionally, he was so strong in various ways and that is why one may think of Adolf Hitler as the most effective in using the power of words and language to influence others than any other man. Hitler was always very persuasive, and three reasons why include: the way he uses words to make the message persuasive, how he uses propaganda to convince people, and the way he uses words to create emotion. To begin, the way Hitler uses words to make the message persuasive is very imperative. Adolf Hitler always convinced people that Jews were abhorrent people, and the way he did that was scare tactics. People frequently make decisions off of fear, so he chose to tell people about the scary things that Jews would do if they took over. To add, this frightened Germans, making them rancor all Jews, which put Hitler in the right direction to becoming a powerful leader. Each year, millions of people are released from prison, but roughly two thirds of the prisoners who were released reoffend within three years of leaving prison, often with a more serious and violent offense. This can be attributed to the ineffective correction style that America has adopted: punishment. The second example of intertextuality would be to that of the Martin Scorsese film, Gangs of New York , specifically in the go back home scene of the text. In Scorsese s text, immigrants are one the one hand shown as being criminals, but on the other are also as being discriminated against to such a degree that it was very difficult for them to integrate into the wider American culture. Our text acknowledges this aspect of American history through this intertextuality but by showing our protagonist in a positive light and not being embittered or turning to crime it rejects the idea that immigrants are criminals and argues they are vital to America s economic and cultural success. Examples of this in the present social welfare system are TANF, unemployment insurance, Social Security, SSI, and SDI. Within the TANF and unemployment program, there is a job search requirement to encourage people to find work. Also, much like the Elizabethan Poor Laws, people are categorized to receive specific benefits based on whether they can work or not, like SSI, which is for people who are currently unable to work because of old age or disability. Worthy poor are the people who have worked, but no longer can because they are aged or disabled , the people who can work if they want to, or can support their families if they work hard enough (Day Schiele, 2013, p. 10). Unworthy poor is anyone else who has never worked and will not work. It is assumed that these people are poor because of some kind of willfulness, laziness, or refusal to be productive and support themselves (Longmore, 1997). In Equality, Value, and Merit, Hayek argues that this liberal principle been corrupted by egalitarians who now wish the state to not only strive to eliminate institutional advantages, but all advantages, including individual ones, which may lead to some individuals accruing more wealth than others (V). This clearly clashes with the underlying philosophy of John Rawls second principle of justice, namely that inequalities are arbitrary unless it is reasonable to expect that they will work out for everyone s advantage (Rawls, 165). This is because, fundamentally, Hayek has a different conception of the meaning of justice than does Rawls. For Hayek, justice is to be thought of in the same way that liberty and coercion are, that is, that it ought to be confined to the deliberate treatment of men by other men (Hayek, VI). Thus, to Hayek to associate justice with the distribution of goods in the market makes no sense, for it would be equivalent to claiming that the distribution of height among persons is also a matter of justice, for what determines such distributions is not the will of any person or persons, but rather the outcomes of uncontrollable forces (VI). Thus, inequalities of wealth are neither just nor unjust, rather it is merely the outcome of an unequal distribution of individual abilities, which is the amoral product of nature and an amoral market system which rewards those abilities on the basis of their value to ...
