The Song To The Aten And Hymn 104 Essay
In spite of the fact that The Song to the Aten and Hymn 104 are fundamentally the same as they
contain numerous distinctions. Both of the pieces contain perplexing depictions of the force and
favors of the master. The presentations contain likenesses as the Egyptian Song depicts The Aten as
flawlessness coming soon of the sky, and Hymn 104 portrays the Master Godas wearing Greatness
and radiance. Yet the primary similitude is the request of the talk. The notice of components,
similar to the sun and water are a running topic all through both pieces.
The Egyptian Psalm starts by talking about the glories of the Aten and tails this up with the notice
of the Sun (the Aten was a sun plate). Amid So be it hotep IV s rule, the one genuine god was the
Aten, this sun plate that mirrored the sun s beams. The ruler changed his name to Akhenaten, the
powerful type of the Aten. The psalm always says the force of the sun and it s association with
life and passing. The cutting edge world would not see this as unrealistic as science has
demonstrated that the sun is one of the key fixings in supporting life on this planet through
photosynthesis, warmth, and light. These are all specified in the psalm. This is trailed by the force of

sustenance. The range of dimness inside Song 104 is not by any stretch of the imagination as dim
as The Psalm of the Aten, and it comes later on with an inclination of specifying the colossal
manifestations of the Master first. These pieces are not made through an apprehension out of God
but rather more as a festival of the manifestations and marvels gave by their

Estate Planning Decisions
Creating an effective estate plan can occasionally feel daunting, but it doesn t have to be. Taking a
few simple steps today can help ensure that you and your family gain the maximum benefit from
your hard work and hard earned assets. By making the right estate planning decisions in your
working years, you re more likely to enjoy a successful retirement in the future while protecting
your assets for generations to come. Here are some basic strategies for starting, fine tuning or
updating your estate plan.
1) Create a Will
A surprising number of successful people including doctors, executives and business owners
lack a basic will. Others forget to sign their wills or update them regularly. Make sure you have a
basic will and that your document is up to date, has been signed and notarized. In addition, make
sure that your executor has a copy that can be easily found in the event of your death. Without a
signed will, your estate will be settled according to state laws in your state of residence, which may
or may not reflect your personal wishes.
2) Write a Letter of Instruction for Personal Belongings
A will typically covers major assets, such as financial accounts and real property. It s also a good
idea to write a letter of instruction about smaller personal belongings, such ... Show more content on

First, if you become incapacitated for any reason, having a living trust in place allows you to
retain full control of your estate. Without a living trust, your state of residence could potentially
appoint a guardian for you according to state law if aren t able to make decisions for yourself.
Second, a living trust offers privacy. Wills are public documents once they have been filed with
your state of residence. In contrast, the contents of a living trust can always remain private and out
of the public domain. Finally, a living trust can help your estate avoid probate, saving your heirs

What Are The Sales Promotion Objectives Of Club Med
1. What are the sales promotion objectives? ( 50 words 1 or 2 objectives ) According to
Mahmoud (2017), hotels need to attain their minimum occupancy levels in order to achieve
average sales. By offering Malaysian consumers up to 40% discount, the objective of this
promotion is to increase occupancy rate by 5% during the off peak period of 2014 in the select
destinations stated.
2. Do you think it will accomplish its objectives? (Yes/No/Yes and No 2 points 100 words each)

The Pros And Cons Of A Biological Weapon
It seems to me that the most realistic threat to our nation is that of a Biological Weapon [BW].
First, biological weapons are naturally occurring and easy to come by, such as anthrax. Not to
mention the fact that it s been successfully used as weapon in the past (Anthrax, 2015). Secondly,
biological weapons can cause far more death and injury with smaller amounts. In 1993, a study by
the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment found that an attack on Washington D.C.
using 100 kilograms of anthrax would prove to be far more deadly that an attack on the same area
using a 1 megaton hydrogen bomb (Katz, 2013). The viability of a biological weapon sample doesn
t seem to be in question, in my opinion, as it is naturally occurring to begin with. The only issue
would be the attacker or attackers insuring that they protect themselves. Another concern with the
biological weapons is the recent advances in technology, including DNA synthesis. Meaning that in
the near future, any naturally occurring bio weapon could be re produced ... Show more content on

There would be enormous difficulty in even a skilled terrorist building and deploying a nuclear
bomb. Additionally, even if that same terrorist got his hands on an American nuclear weapon, it is
highly unlikely that they d have the ability to detonate it (Cravens, 2016). The biggest threat our
nation faces today in terms of a nuclear attack seems to be that of the threat posed by the North
Korean regime who has successfully tested multiple long range missiles in recent months
(Robertson Masters, 2017). Radiological weapons, often called dirty bombs, are a different story.
The terrorist requires very little expertise and the items needed to complete the weapon are widely
available. Although the casualties are limited, it can have both immediate and long term effects on
those effected (RDD,

10 Things I Hate About You Analysis
Who would have guessed that a movie I watched over the summer of 2010 particularly the 1999
teen romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You would forever alter my perspective on creative
writing and songwriting? Even though the movie s characters were high school students and I was
entering seventh grade at the time, their varied personalities seemed incredibly relatable to me. And
as the months would pass, the idea of putting my thoughts about a short story based on the filmon
notebook paper rarely entered my mind. It all started when my grandmother, brother, cousin, and
I were all invited by a religious organization to travel with other churchgoers to Allensworth,
California. Formerly the first town founded by African Americans, it was now a historic park in
the state s Central Valley area. My mother truly desired for my brother and I to go, as we would

But I found comfort in the fact that I still had my notebook, so I began penning a short story
based on 10 Things I Hate About You titled My First Love . Like the movie, the story centered on
two sisters who are told by their father that the only way they would be allowed to date was if
they simultaneously had boyfriends. The younger sister s boyfriend was a new student and a
geek, and the older sister s boyfriend was a troublemaker, just like the film. But there were a few
big differences: while both sisters in the movie were both in high school, in my story, the younger
sister was a high school freshman and the older sister was a young adult. My story took place in
the Cincinnati area, but the film did not. And many of the characters in my story, including the
sisters, and their prospective boyfriends, were of my race; the film had mostly white

Designing A Project Using Java Programming
worked on and grasped knowledge on different java platforms while I work at Damian
Consulting Inc. Java programming, one of the best programming platforms for getting the right
output with a little ease. The understanding of how to develop a project using java programming
is made clear. In the first few weeks of my job I had to learn and brush up all about the basic
features of java programming so that when I had to apply on the coding I had no chance to
confuse. The basic features of java are dependent on the OOPs concept. The features of java that
made it unique, platform independent and highly desirable are:
Simple
Portable
Object oriented
Multithreaded
Architectural neutral
High performance
Distributed
Dynamic
Secure
Robust
The basic concepts that are to be learned are:
Objects:
The objects give us the basic understanding of the java programming. These are the elemental
particles for developing a state or a behavior for a particular value. The objects are the collections
that are the blueprint particles for the class. The super class in java is Object Class.
Class:
The class is the collection of objects. The class gives us the blueprint for the object behaviors and
the states, the class determines the complete functionality of the object / value features.
The class is the combination of methods and their functionalities. They contain the variable

Opium (Papaver somniferum)
The opium poppy has been used as a medicinal plant for centuries all over the world. The opium
poppy plant belongs to the Papaveraceae family. The scientific name of the opium poppy is
Papaver somniferum L., and it is native to Turkey. The plant has lobed leaves, milky sap and
four to six petaled flowers with several stamens surrounding the ovary. The two sepals drop off
when the petals unfold. The ovary then develops into a short, many seeded capsule that opens in

Papaver Somniferum has been used since Greek times to relieve suffering and euphoria. Records
indicate that the opium poppy has been used since the time of Mesopotamia (5000 to 4000 BC).
The records refer to the poppy and its use as opiates as medical tablets. Homer s writings indicate
Greek usage of the substance at least by 90OBC: Hippocrates made extensive use of medicinal
herbs including opium (see Britannica Online).
It is believed that the Romans probably learned of opium in the Mediterranean. Opium spread to
places all over the world. In China opium was reported as a problem during the seventeenth
century. Between World War I and H the cultivation of opium grew in Central America in the
mountains. Now the major producers and exporters of opium are Turkey and India (Britannica
Online).
Opium was definitely used in more recent times as well. Before the nineteenth century there were
few painkillers available. There were few alternatives to using opiates to end suffering for dying
people. Long ago opium was not considered harmful and was available to everyone. Doctors
advised taking opiates to relieve a number of symptoms

Comparing Vietnam And The United States
The world has become more global as time is going through. However, there are still some
significant differences when comparing between developed country and developing country, such
as Vietnam and the United States. While the United States has been developed in many fields

two different continents; they have so much difference on religious, languages, and practices
although those distinctions are seemed to get more narrow than before. People are trying to adopt
the different culture, as they still the keep their traditional practices of their own culture. Wedding
life, food, and the educational system are the typical things, which have the similarities and
differences at the same time.
Firstly, the wedding life for couples is significantly different even though it still has some few
things similar. In both countries, the couples will an engagement ceremony before getting to an

Saint Manuel, The Good Martyr
The setting to a piece of literature is just as important as the characters, or plot. The setting helps
the reader identify where this story took place and when it happened. The environment of a story
helps the audience visualize where the characters are in the story. It is like a piece to a puzzle that
is necessary in making the story whole.
The setting in Miguel de Unamuno s literature, Saint Manuel, The Good, Martyr, plays an
important part in creating symbolism and having certain places represent bigger meanings. For
example, the lake is a common area that is mentioned a lot by ГЃngela and Don Manuel. The lake
has different perspectives, depending on who is talking about it. To Don Manuel, the lake is
portrayed as a dream filled with hope, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One important factor that affects her life is God. Angustias has her own idea of how Andrea
should live under the eyes of God. The irony, however, comes in when Angustias acts with no
regard to how wrong or disrespectful her actions may be. This is seen in Laforet s, Nada, when
she says, Cities, my child, are hell. And in all of Spain no city resembles hell more than
Barcelona. ... Total prudence in one s conduct is not enough, for the devil disguises himself in
tempting ways. ... A young girl in Barcelona must be like a fortress. Do you understand? (pg. 15.)
Angustias wants to see Andrea as a child of God and protect her by bringing the fear of the Devil,
but later on in the novel, the word of God gets less and less prominent because of Andrea s wish to
be on her own and secrets that out Angustias true identity. God is used as the exterior environment

Angustias is haunted by her own demons when the family learns of her affair with Don JerГіnimo,
her boss. Her guilt gets the best of her and wants a fresh start in a convent as a nun. This is seen
where Gloria says, I don t know why Angustias hasn t gone away with Don JerГіnimo, or why she s

opinion, and that is what makes her believe she does nothing wrong in the

Othello, The Moor of Venice
The play by William Shakespeare, Othello, The Moor of Venice, was staged for the first time in

Othello is a tale of jealousy and revenge. The game takes place in Venice, while two friends,
Roderigo and Iago, are discussing. Iago has unlucky news: Desdemona, a woman Roderigo hoping
to get married to, has already married Othello, a Moorish General that leads the Republic of Venice
Army troops, who married in great secrecy Desdemona; the daughter of Senator Brabantio. The

This does not prevent Iago from attempting to ruin Othello s marriage. Once again he tells the
public that he will try to frame Cassio and Desdemona as lovers to make Othello jealous. Cassio
goes to Desdemona to ask her to speak to Othello on his behalf. When Othello enters the room,
Cassio quickly becomes very guilty. Iago seizes the opportunity to convince Othello that
Desdemona is having a relationship with Cassio, he succeeds, and Othello gets more and more
jealous. Iago designs a plan to bring Cassio into the room while Othello is near and says he will
confess. Cassio enters with Iago, who has just told him about his lover White. To Othello, it
seems that Cassio admits a relationship with Desdemona. For the rest of the drama, Iago created
a flow of lies that affected everyone. These lies lead to the deaths of Emilia (wife of Iago) and
Roderigo. Othello ends up killing Desdemona out of anger and jealousy, when he learns the truth of
her innocence, Iago was discovered and without repentance, he was imprisoned.

The Environmental And Environmental Impacts Of The Fast...
The fashion industry has changed a lot since ancient times and the 1800s. The way fabric was
traded and made is different now. The fabrics in past decades were more natural and handmade.
More recently fabrics have changed to a manmade or synthetic fabric. These fabrics pollute the
environment and make it harder for people to live.
Many people buy cheap clothes from chain clothing stores, like forever 21, H M, and Zara.
Although these clothes are cheap, these clothes have a big backstory before they get to the
stores. They have lots of reasons why these clothes are so cheap. There is a term for clothes that are
made from overseas, by workers who are paid less. It called Fast Fashion, fast fashion are clothes
are cheaper and are usually low quality (Ojiala). Fast fashion has been developing over the past
two decades(Pagotto). Many of the brands that support the fast fashion trend release 18 collections
a year ( Cris in Our Closets ). The Fast fashion industry provides marketplaces with inexpensive
clothes for most young women (Luz).
Fast fashion has a big impact on the environment and on the employees of the fashion industry. The
environment is deteriorating because of the fabric and clothes in the industry. The fast fashion
industry creates 10% of the world s pollution (Bedat). With each part of making the clothes, from
the fabric, to the shipping creates an environmental and occupational hazard (Luz). Not only is the

Characteristics Of Edgar Allan Poe An Unreliable Narrator
Edgar Allen Poe And His Unreliable Narrators Edgar Allen Poe is an extremely well known
horror/gothic genre poet and author. He often uses an unreliable narrator in his stories. An
unreliable narrator is a narrator that constantly switches his or her stories or attempts to justify
wrong doing. Two of this are in two of Poe s greatest works The Tell Tale Heart and The Raven.
The Tell Tale Heart is a short story about how the narrator copes with the murder of an old man.
The narrator is unreliable because he attempts to justify the killing of the old man but murder is
unjustifiable and he gives blank reasoning. The Raven. is a poem about how the narrator is
constantly reminded of how the haunting feeling of his wife s death will never leave him. The
author is unreliable because his anger intensity fluctuated throughout the altercation with the
raven. Some characteristics of an unreliable narrator are: Deranged, Insane, or they have a
mental issue. Poe often shows these character in his two great works stated earlier, The Tell Tale
Heart and The Raven. Poe is a skilled author when utilizing an unreliable narrator show insanity.
One representation of this is in his short story The Tell Tale Heart. Like stated previously in the
story the narrator tries to prove himself innocent in the short story by giving lousy excuses as to
why he killed the man. He tries multiple times to find a reason to sway us towards his side in the
story. On page one he exclaims, Yes,

Analysis Of Breath, Eyes, Memory By Edwidge Danticat
It is not always strenuous to acknowledge when a mistake is made for some, in fact it can be
seen as a challenge. Especially for adults and adolescents confessing when a mistake is made is
nearly impossible. Yet everyone male, female, young and old make mistakes. It is natural for a
person to make multitudinous mistakes throughout their lifetime. In the book Breath, Eyes,
Memory by Edwidge Danticat the main character, Sophie Caco, has a laborious time confessing
to her selfish mistakes leading to her being torn between her self love and love with her
husband.. For someone to admit to his or her mistakes to themselves may feel as if he or she
was irrational. Sophie Caco begins her journey at twelve years old when she first moves from
Haiti to New York. As a young child, Sophie s mother abandoned because she relocated to New
York due to her psychiatric instability. For the first time at twelve years old Sophie was able to
reunite with mother. Previously, Sophie lived with her aunt and her grandmother, both were
mother figures to Sophie. When Sophie was able to live with her mother again their connect
was not as powerful as her mother hoped it would be. Over the years Sophie began to learn the
ways of an American, as her grandmother would say. Sophie made a mistake of letting her self
conscious thoughts overcome her day to day life. At twenty years old Sophie was married to
Joseph and had their first child named Brigette. Sophie began struggling with eating after giving
birth due to her thinking that she became overweight: ...I looked through my wallet for some
pictures that I had brought with me, there was one of Brigitte, all shriveled up, a few hours after
she was born. I almost refused to let Joseph take pictures of me with her. I was too ashamed of the
stitches on my stomach and the flabs of fat all over my body... (Danticat 127). Sophie was unable
to look at herself the same from giving birth to her first born child. The mental thoughtof her being
fat led her to think that she has failed as a wife. It was a mistake for her to think this because her
husband, Joseph, was in love with her deeply. He only cared about keeping Sophie happy in spite
of him being the same age as Sophie s mother. Joseph was a

Leadership Is A Key Factor Essay
Leadership means the ability of a superior to influence the behaviour of subordinates and
persuade them to follow a particular course of action (Barnard, 1938)Effective leadership is a
key factor in the life and success of an organisation. There are many theories of leadership have
been proposed like Great man theory, trait theory , The managerial grid and Theory X and Theory
Y as it s a part of behaviour theory and Participative theory. There are many traits and skill of
person which makes normal person to leader. There are honesty, passion, respect, clarity, emotional
stability etc. From them we just now concentrate on these five qualities. There are,
1.Vision
Vision is more important than your leadership skill as without this skill team cannot go anywhere
like this skill is a heart of leadership (Small Business, 2012). Vision can have power in that leader
can see the future state in present and built a road to arrive at stated future goal (Kohut,
2013).With clear vision leader can make plan to get involved in the activity to achieve the goal in
defined time. There is confidence in each action which has vision in behind (Richter). Finally it is
like how organisation looks like after some time or may be at which stage it will be in near future
(Richter). It provides the execution idea and also motivation.
2.Tolerant to stress

Drug Use And Drug Testing
Drug and polygraph Testing in determining whether companies are morally justified in using drug
testing or polygraph testing I argue that Companies are not morally justified in using drug test or
polygraph test if the confidential information is not relevant to a jobs performance. The company
should not be able to legitimately expect it or require it. normally confidential information is
irrelevant to a job s performance. the employer could not ask applicants or employees about their
drug use. The U.S Supreme Court has ruled that drug testing programs are permissible within the
public and the private sectors in the job industry. It is said that mandatory drug testing is a
permanent fi of American Corporations. By some estimates one third of American corporations
now require their employees to be tested for drug use. These requirements are compatible with
general employment law while promoting the public s interest in fighting drug use. Mandatory
drug testing is also underwritten by potent political considerations. The public is concerned about
the growing use of illegal drugs. The Supreme Court specifically noted this concern in upholding
the mandatory testing of Customs Service employees. The use of illegal narcotics, they said, is
one of the greatest problems affecting the health and welfare of our population. (National Treasury
Employees Union v. von Rabb 109 S.Ct. 1384, 1989). The public wants drug use stopped; and they

The Pros And Cons Of Bisphenol A
Carcinogens in our shampoos, additives and teeth rotting ingredients in our sodas, harmful
chemicals in our plastic items... In an effort to make changes in the items we purchase and use, we
opt for products that boast better safety, and less health risks.
So what happens when a product once touted for its safety comes into question?
The Lowdown
While it was once thought that BPA free plasticproducts were a safer bet, research is beginning to
show that might not be the case. Bisphenol A (BPA) is an industrial chemical that has been linked
to countless health problems, from endocrine, to reproductive, to neurological issues. When
evidence of these health issues came to light, BPA free products were a seemingly easy transition.
But now, reasearchers are looking to Bisphenol S (BPS), a common alternative to BPA that s used
as a replacement in BPA free products, and finding that it might not be a good substitute either.
In an article on the topic for Prevention, writer Marygrace Taylor learned more about BPS
similarities to BPA in its structure, and in turn, its effects, from Lindsay Dahl, the deputy director of

Dr. Gregory House Listening Style Analysis
Although I am just being introduced to the television show House M.D., I have seen several
different aspects of interpersonal communication through each of the main characters. The most
profound aspect of communication demonstrated in the episode Three Stories, is listening.

and the students all exhibit key characteristics of the four listening styles with the incorporation of
the functions of listening. First off, the main character of House M.D., Dr. Gregory House, can be
described as an action oriented and time oriented listener. An action oriented listener wants brief, to
the point, and accurate messages from others information they can then use to make decisions or
initiate courses of action (McCornack 160). Similarly, a time oriented listener prefers brief and
concise encounters (McCorncack 161). Dr. House displays both of these type of listening styles in
not only the way he listens to information, but also in the way he... Show more content on

The main characters revealed in the episode Three stories have displayed what it takes to be one of
these type of listeners. I have discussed to very different doctors that provide distinctively different
patient care based on their listening style. The students attending Dr. House s lecture also played a
key role in demonstrating a different listening style that many students in any educational career
can relate. Their listening styles have intertwined with the functions of listening they use, because
the way you intend to listen affects the style in which you do. Overall, House M.D. provided
excellent examples of not only the different styles of which one listens, but also the functions in
which he/she intends to listen

St Francis Of Assisi Research Paper
The Mysticism of the Great Saint Francis of Assisi Saint Francis of Assisi (1181 1226) was a
Roman Catholic preacher, he spent most of his later life, influencing others on practicing
Catholicism and a leader of the movement of evangelical poverty. The Oxford University Press

adherence to the forms of Christian doctrine and practice which are generally regarded as Catholic
rather than Protestant or Eastern Orthodox. Saint Francis of Assisibelieved we were born in this

Capulet And Lady Capulet In William Shakespeare s Romeo...
Similar to a parasite, Juliet, the daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet in the play Romeo and
Juliet by William Shakespeare, is a character who is very dependent and doesn t formulate her own
opinion. So, throughout the course of the story, Juliet develops her own thoughts and continuously
becomes more independent according to the experiences she faces, consisting of disobeying her
parents, falling deeply in love with Romeo and finally accomplishing her liberty. William
Shakespeare has created Juliet by interpreting her as a character who has transferred from a
dependent person to an independent person. For instance, while Juliet was asking the nurse about
the fight between Romeo and Tybalt, Juliet says, What storm is this that blows so contrary?... Show

Analysis Of Mill On The Floss By George Eliot
This research report reviews scholarly criticism on the much debated character MAGGIE
TULLIVER from the book Mill on the floss written by George Eliot. The project I propose
analyses Maggie s character as a whole. The report will begin by discussing the critics point of
view of various reasons responsible for the death of Maggie Tulliver. The report then focuses on
how society and how her relationships lead to her downfall from the point of view of various
critics. A part of my report also critically analyses the death of Maggie Tulliver. Lastly my report
discusses about the inner conflicts of Maggie and how those conflicts eventually lead to her
fate. Maggie suppresses herself in the patriarchal system and struggles to make a place for
herself and to find an identity of her own. In her article Maggie Tulliver s long suicide1974

wrong, or not to be taken seriously. She learned to collaborate in her own defeat . ELIZABETH
ERMARTH also comments on how society affects Maggie since she was shaped to be a child by
the family pieties, it is fitting that her life ends in a reversion to childhood where her energies to
be an adult, tragically, are unneeded. Moving on to her relationships, Ermarth analyses that her
relationships with Mr.Tulliver and her brother Tom Tulliver play a very important role in her being
a selfless person. In return of being obedient Tom gives

I Am Serving As An Instructor
Reading these initial chapters in our textbook comes at an interesting time for me, as I am
currently serving as an instructor for the first time! Speaking from personal experience, I agree
with the authors in that simple skills are a crucial first step in getting off on the right foot. I
believe it would be difficult to recover with students (as well as your own self esteem) starting out
ill prepared. I really wish that I could have taken this courseprior to serving as an instructor, or at
the very least attended some kind of training to prepare me. Of great importance, as Svinicki and
McKeachie point out, is having a firm grasp on university etiquette to avoid taboo subjects and
relate to students appropriately. Although common sense should prevail, training in this area may
help mitigate issues that may arise with a lack of understanding on the part of the instructor. I
appreciate the timeline that chapter two offers in relation to preparing to teach three months in
advance, and can see myself referring back to this in the future. This section highlights the
importance of avoiding procrastination in planning, and provides detailed instructions on how to
stay on task. I did find the discussion of course goals and objectives interesting because I had
assumed they would be set by the university or department. Regardless, the authors make clear the
importance of goals and objectives; however from my experience there doesn t seem to be much
emphasis placed on these in the

The Curriculum For Excellence And Education
The Curriculum for Excellence, introduced in 2014, aims to transform education in Scotland for
ages 3 18. It intends to progress the standards of education and learning in the country by moving
away from more traditional methods of teaching. This strategy, developed by the Scottish
Government, recognises that learningis a lifelong process, beginning at birth, and therefore it is
important to employ methods which prepare children from a young age for a life of work. In
order to do so, the curriculum is based on seven key principles which are designed to provide
young people with the knowledge and skills for life in the 21st century. This knowledge and skill is
learnt through experiences and opportunities which are carefully planned for each age group,
encouraging space for learning out with the standard school subject boundaries. The programme has
four main outcomes prompting children to become successful learners, confident individuals,
responsible citizens and effective contributors. Once an individual has completed the education
programme, reflections of the curriculum s purpose can be assessed in the child or young person to
see if they have met the proposed outcomes and therefore determining the overall success.
One of the key principles of the curriculum is Health and Wellbeing. This area focuses on the
development and maintenance of young people s mental, emotional, social and physical health. As
well as promoting a healthy lifestyle, full of activity, challenge and

Persuasive Essay On Poverty In America
Poverty in America is greatly known all around the world. For many years the nation s education
levels of children during school and insurance is a huge pillar that holds up poverty in the U.S.A.
As a country we have not done enough to overcome poverty. Even with new organizations being
formed to help with enhancements of education, like the America Gives More Act, the nation hasn t
made the Early Warning Systemsor have improved influences for college saving plans.
According to the Huffington Post, forty five million Americans are living in poverty. The U.S. has
attempted to decrease this by enhancing the education system and bettering insurance costs for
struggling families. The America Gives More Act was apart of advancing the U.S. This restored
and expanded three charitable giving incentives such as food inventories, conservation easements,
the IRA rollover, as well as streamline the foundation excise tax stated in National Council of
Nonprofit.
Community College to Career Fund Act was passed so Americans with low income are able to get
the training they need for better paying jobs. The Fraken.Senate.Gov document implies that
community colleges are harshly unfunded compared to four year colleges, and this Act will create a
grant program that will increase funding. Better funding comes better training, which means better
jobs and pay, which then decreases poverty for many Americans.
The Community Investment and Empowerment Act described on GovTrack is

people and their neighbors in terms of their opinion toward an independent Kurdish state. Kurds are
possibly on of the largest ethnic groups in the world that do not own a country of their own. They
are the largest minorities in Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria (Murray p.31). It has been a challenge
due to the radical ideologies of the neighboring countries toward an independent Kurdish state

Their assumption is that these countries will not support the declaration of an independent

relatively large budget to sustain a country. When it comes to geography, the fear of a total

Tanks
Jack Elmes
How did tank innovation impact warfare and the soldiers who fought in the trenches during World
War One?
World War One was known as the First World War or The Great War. It began on the 28th of July
1914 and lasted until the 11th of November 1918. Thirty countries were involved in the war. Over
nine million soldiers died and twenty one million were wounded. Undeniably World War One was
one of the biggest and most devastating wars in history. Trench warfaretook those who signed up
by complete surprise. A war that was intended to be all about movement became stagnant. Soldiers
were very much stuck in the trenches and experienced horrendous conditions. As a result the use of
terrifying new technologies not used before were created in a response to the conditions of trench
warfare. This resulted in trench warfare being changed forever due to the introduction of the tank in
1915.

and accidentally kills Roman. If Niko takes revenge on Dimitri and kills him, Niko s business

During the first century A.D. the Pharisees, Sadducees, Essenes, and the Nationalist all lived in

most did not identify themselves with any of these groups. Even though all these groups were

There was conflict with the Pharisees because the Sadducees felt that their official roles in the

Essenes are best known from the Dead Sea Scrolls, which were discovered in 1947. Since the

Why Carter Center Won The Nobel Peace Prize
Nobel Peace Prize What would you do if your entire nation is being ravaged by a disease that you
don t know how to treat? That s where The Carter Center stepped in to aid struggling families in
Africa. Led by former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, they were able to bring cures to
villages that have none. Some people may say that the Carters just want to gain media attention
but I will prove that is not the case. The purpose of this essay is to show why I believe the Carter
Center should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.
The first reason why The Carter Center should win the Nobel Peace prize is they assist people in
thousands of villages with diseases that don t have a cure in their country. The biggest epidemic
that the Carter Center was involved in was the Guinea worm disease. In just one years time the
Center reduced the disease by a whopping 99 percent! That number decreased from 3.5 million to
less then 11,000. Since the Center has many people to help throughout the world, they teach the
people who are at the center of the disease to cure it themselves. To do this, the Carter Center train
volunteers within the thousands of villages who are the main reason the diseases are cured.

lot to do with two social phenomena of postwar America: the rise of popular psychology and the
breakup of the extended family (4). Those who were spankingas children argue that they turned out
just fine , and these parents believe that spanking is the most effective form of punishment, while
there have been studies conducted that have interesting results that may come as a shock to those

Spanking is known to have only one positive effect, and that is to stop the disliked behavior
immediately. Spanking can be defined as a lesson taught out of violence, and violence is defined as
an act carried out with the intention, or perceived intention, of causing physical pain or injury to
another person. ( 6 ). If this is the way spanking is defined, what are we teaching our children? We
are teaching them that it is okay to act out of violence when they become frustrated, and that it is
okay to hit someone when they are upset with them. Many believe that since spanking is done out
of anger, parents who spank are more likely to commit child abuse when disciplining their children.
Studies have shown that children who are spanked have a greater tendency to fear their parents
and not have a loving child/parent bond. Dr. Aminifu R. Harvey, a professor at the University Of
Maryland Baltimore School Of Social Work, stated that, Studies have shown that children
spanked in anger lose respect for the parents and view them as out of control negating the whole
point of discipline, which is to muster self control (2). It is also believed that spanking can cause a
child to start lying in order to avoid getting caught and being punished. Along with that, some also
believe that spanking is leading to children learning to become sneakier in order to not get

Humanistic Approach Analysis
Good evening, Owen.
Thank you for your response. I have read a couple of responses, and they are similar, in that they
mention that professional educators mix and match approaches to curriculum, more than,
perhaps, stick to one flavor. I mentioned in my post that I began as a supporter of the behavioral
approach to curriculum. Yet, now, I am full time teacher of record in a prime example of the
humanistic approach and I love it. I am an engineer by spirit, so I tend toward the behavior and
systems approaches by nature. However, I ve been involved in the International Baccalaureate
curriculum for the past 6 years, first as a parent, then as a substitute in the classroom, and currently
as teacher of record for Middle School Science. I ve watched my own children mature in the
system, and then fail, because of their point of entry. I ve seen other children mature from
Kindergarten to Middle School and have noticed the difference between those who started here in
Kindergarten and those who came within two years prior to Middle School.
Having said all that, I feel that I have had the opportunity to experience the behavioral approach to

Furthermore, I am proud to say our school is a C rating despite the testing. Ornstein and Hunkins
(2017) noted that the behavioral approach was based on a plan...a blueprint...or document . They
noted that learning outcomes were evaluated in relation to the goals and objective put into place.
More significantly, Ornstein and Hunkins offered Frederick Taylor s Machine Theory as a
comparison to the efficiency and effective nature expected from the behavioral approach (p. 2).
Don t get me wrong, I still see potential in the behavioral approach to curriculum but children are

Implementing Nationwide Health Enrichment Goals And...
Initial Post: Access to healthcare
Paula Moran Lally Healthy People 2020 aims to establish nationwide health enrichment goals and
increase public knowledge regarding the indicators for health, disease and disabilities while
supporting opportunities for enhancement (Nies McEwen, 2015). One of the most crucial goals
Access to Health Care has been highlighted in lieu of the fact that in 2014 the United States health
care system needed to provide the 32 million uninsured Americans with needed health insurance for
the first time as a result of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) (Healthy People 2020, 2012). The ACA
has formulated a four part system build around Medicare, Medicaid, employer sponsored insurance
and the new state based insurances ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many key components in approaching access to health care: coverage, services,
timeliness and workforce (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Patients who have a positive and
consistent source of care will ultimately have better end results, minor discrepancies and fewer
costs (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Timeliness is the health system s capability to optimize
services in a convenient manner, whether it embraces the time spent either waiting in a doctor s
office or an emergency department. At the same time for many patients it encompasses the time
between analyzing the need for tests or treatment and obtaining those results. Working as an ER
nurse there has been incredible long waiting times in emergency rooms secondary to the fact that
people are using the ER for care and more notably as their primary care physician. Likewise
prolonged Emergency department wait times can decrease patient satisfaction and notably people
leave without been seen. Finally the different element of workforce is vital in contributing access
to health services. Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) play an important role in providing access to
health services and it has been noted that many medical students are leaning away from working in
primary care (Healthy People 2020, 2015). Our ultimate goal is to direct them towards that needed
profession. The Healthy People 2020 leading health

Analysis of My Antonia by Willa Carter Essay
My Antonia is a classic story originally published in 1918 by Willa Cather. Cather was a famous
author in the early mid 1900s, placing her work in an era of a formal, illustrative, sophisticated
writing style. She wrote numerous books about life on the great plains, where she was born and
raised. She received many awards for her artistic novels throughout her lifetime. She died in 1947,
and the public continues to praise her work almost a century after its publishing date. Her free
spirited writing has made her an icon ever since her books reached the shelves. Characters All of the
main characters in My Antonia are thoughtful, intelligent people, though not necessarily in terms of
schooling or knowledge. Jim Burden, the story s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jim s relationship with Antonia shapes him as a character and provides him with the tools to grow
from a child to a young adult.
Main Idea/ Theme My Antonia is a philosophical story, with dream like ideas left and right. Even
so, the book s main theme was clearly the transition or journey from childhood to adulthood. This
theme applied to both the main characters, Jim and Antonia, who were children when the story
begins and adults when it ends. At ten years old, Jim Burden moved to the plains of Black
Hawk, Nebraska. His parents had died in an epidemic, and Jim was sent to live with his father s
parents on their Nebraska farm. In his new home, he met a Bohemian girl named Antonia, a free
spirited, lively, unique personality. He fell in love with her, and although his feelings were not
returned, he and Antonia became great friends. The book has numerous examples of traditional
obstacles that people their ages go through, along with additional hardships such as poverty and
death of close family members. Antonia developed a sense of independence that became her most
prominent trait throughout the book. The characters found activities and places where they felt
like they belonged, and they began to discover who they were. As Jim (the narrator) states, The
new country lay open before me: there were no fences in those days, and I could choose my own
way over the grass uplands, trusting the pony to get me home again. Jim was speaking of a place

Differences Between Weak Impermissibility And The...
In the aforementioned studies, an asymmetry is found between the footbridge and the bystander
cases which suggests that there is an independent reason to remove any asymmetry in the
personal bystander and footbridge cases. The results showed that participants were aware of the
difference between weak impermissibility and all in impermissibility. In the first experiment,
about 70% stated that is was not acceptable to violate a moral rule and all things considered both
in the personal footbridge case. We can see a recognisable distinction in personal and moral
cases, but this was not addressed in these experiments. In addition, a philosophical understanding
tells us that when a rule is broken, it is wrong to go ahead with that action (e.g. Fried, 1978). It is
clear then from both experiments that a difference between weak and all in permissibility is not
evident (Nichols Mallon, 2005). The results show that some people think that it is acceptable to
breach a moral rule, even one that allows killing innocent people. This reinforces the idea that
people are not absolute deontologists, and this is similar to the issues observed in the catastrophe
case. What is notable about the results is that people appreciate the recognisable difference between
weak and all in impermissibility. Moreover, the results show an independent mechanism for two
underlying ideas relating to moral judgement. One shows that people are able to minimise bad
outcomes and the other shows people have a set

Reflection Of The Fight On Human Rights And Reproductive...
I first really recognized the fight for social justice on June 25, 2013. This was the day Wendy
Davis defended reproductive rights at the Texas Capitol for 13 hours. I grew up in a politically
active climate, but watching a livestream of the Texas Legislature that night had more of an effect
on me than anything I had done or witnessed before. I am interested in the Bridging Disciplines
Program s Human Rightsand Social Justice certificate because from that night on I have become
aware of the incredible amount of injustice in the world. For a little while, I wanted to be a public
official like Wendy Davis. However, after I started taking classes at UT, I immediately became
interested in court cases. Especially, I loved the class Supreme Court and Public Policy. It struck me
that most human rights victories came from the courts rather than the legislature. Just three years
after the filibuster, this proved true to me yet again when the Supreme Court declared
unconstitutional the law Wendy Davis had attempted to block. The Senators and by extension the
Texas voters couldn t stop this injustice, but the courts did.
By completing this certificate, I hope to learn about different human rights movements from across
the world. I will look to answer why certain movements succeeded and certain movements have
failed or are still in progress. While I don t plan on specializing in a strand due to the limited time I
have to complete this certificate, I am most interested in the Theory,

The Azuay stub foot toad, native to South America and thought to be extinct, was recently found to
be extant in Ecuadorian Mountain Forests. The species, which was once predicted to be abundant,
was thought to have been extinguished mainly in part by the chytid fungus, a fungus which is
decreasing the population of many other amphibian species as well. According to the information
provided by the article, the Azuay is not the first to be re found after thought extinction. Scientists
are still unsure about the species survival however, in which conservation methods will be needed.

Pollinator An organism that spreads pollen throughout plants.
Fragment A small piece of a pre existing object. Reflection:
What I found most interesting about the article was how different the Montsechia vidalii is from
the flowers we know today. Although the plant does bear resemblance to some plants today, many
aspects of the plant have evolved overtime. For example, the plants had genders, and did not have
petals. This is sets it apart from today s plants, and also shows how 130 million years of evolution
can both do a great amount, but at the same time a small amount. Although the changes are
somewhat large, such as the removal of, they are tiny in comparison to other evolutionary changes,
which could have taken even longer. Questions:
How much does the Montsechia vidalii resembler, the coontail, resemble the original flower?
How were the scientists able to confirm that the plant had different genders?
How were the seeds of the flower spread from lake to lake? Was it the work of a

impressing our minds. It s just a simple way of displaying color and style in order to force us to
try and figure out what their message is. Art is not only about showing self expression, but it also
helps bring a population of people closer and promotes team building skills, such as building up
long lasting relationships. It encourages people to contribute to the world so they can be

It will force them to gain a curiosity of why that subject matters a lot to them and what action
they have to take to eliminate those issues. Aburawa states, In her online manifesto, PH declares
that she acts upon her own free will and is not involved in any lobby or movement, be it political,
religious, or to do with advertising (28). Even though Princess Hijab s graffiti art is criticized as
supporting gang related activities, she seems to attempt to use the hijabs as a form of expression
to let the audience know that they shouldn t be afraid of revealing who they are and that they
should come out of their comfort zone without caring about what others think. In Alexsandro
Palombo s artwork, Disney Princesses with Disabilities, it illustrates the Disney princesses in
wheelchairs, walking canes, and missing arms. It tends to represent and speak for standing up
for people with disabilities. The title header above, Do You Still Like Us? is expressing concern
whether even though those Disney princesses are still going to be treated equally as other people
even though they have different physical appearances from them. There are some aspects and
events that some people with disabilities may have in common with other groups of people that the
audience should pay attention to because they should be aware of the rights that they had to fight
in order to improve their lifestyle. According to Laurie Block s article, Stereotypes About People
with Disabilities, People with disabilities, especially cognitive impairments, are holy innocents
endowed with special grace, with the function of inspiring others to value life. That being said,
Palombo s artwork help illustrate that people with disabilities deserve the same treatment as people
without it because they are people too.

Judith Lasater Biography
In the midst of the current yoga trend, a new book on the subject seems to be popping up every
week. The once small yoga section of the local bookstore seems to be quickly expanding with
books on philosophy, sanskrit, anatomy, yoga posture s, how to take yoga photos, and the list goes
on and on. However, I question whether or not our society needs more general information about
the subject of yoga. Instead, I think we are in desperate need of the guidance that teaches us how
to use yoga and mindfulness in a way that will improve our relationship with life. What we need
are tools, and tools are exactly what Judith Lasater offers in her book Living your Yoga, Finding
the Spiritual in Everyday Life.
Judith Lasater was an early pioneer in the Western Yoga Movement in the 70 s, and she is also
the founder of Yoga Journal, one of the most successful and widely known yoga publications in
existence. She has walked a spiritual path for over forty years; and, in her book, she has drawn
from both her life experience and her deep knowledge of ancient spiritual teachings and filtered it
all through a western lens, ultimately providing readers with an accessible and useable handbook
on how to live life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

In the U.S. during the 1930 s after gaining legal recognition, after its forced underground existence,
the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) was forced to reorganize and find
new direction by following plans for revolution and to establish a socialist society modeled after
Soviet Russia. This action initialized the development of an underground network which
included recruiting spy sources and external agents for a Soviet law enforcement agency, the
People s Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD). The CPUSA was also active in supporting

Do Violent Video Games Cause Violent Behavior Essay
Do violent video games cause behavioral problems? For years this topic has been highly debated
amongst parents and the players. Violent video games do cause behavioral problems because they
alter a gamers mind.
Risk factors are a major part of behavioral problems. A risk factor of behavior problems are
behaviors that are harmful, disruptive, and impulsive. A majority of researchers say that it is
unlikely that playing violent video games will cause a child with no other risk factors to turn into
an extremely violent person(Lee). This being said, violent video games are a common risk factor
among adolescents (Cooper). Personal background, peers, neighborhoods, and genetics are other
common risk factors. Combined, these risk factors can cause violent behavior to occur (Calvert).
Continually being exposed to violent acts will eventually lead to violent behavior. Exposure to
violence will cause some form of violence to develop over time. Unnecessary violence, such as
video games, are causing problems that would otherwise not be an issue. For example, in one
study, 161 nine through twelve year old s and 344 college students were randomly assigned to play
either a violent or nonviolent video game throughout a specific amount of time. The participants
played a game against the computer in which they set punishments levels for their opponents.
Those who played the violent games appeared to have harsher punishments than those who played
nonviolent games (Cooper).
Children often imitate the actions of characters from games they play and find it difficult to
separate reality from fantasy. Kids are changing the way they think. Says Dr. Gentile. He explains
that long term exposure to this media can potentially lead to changes in both thinking and
behavior. Generally speaking, when children play these games they really enter into the spirit of
things. In many of these games, one must play as a specific character throughout the game. From
beginning to end, the player is required to make decisions as if he/she was actually that character,
facing new challenges and completing quests with every new section of the game. These games
require the player to be an active participant, allowing them to decide the destiny of their

A Comprehensive Prenatal Care Program
There are many expecting mothers in our society that are very unware of what steps to take to
ensure that they maintain a healthy environment for the developing fetus. In the case of Tano
and Lonita, they are a couple of struggling immigrants who are working hard to get by.
Unfortunately for them are some resources that are not made available to them due to
socioeconomic status. However, there are many steps they can talk in order to eliminate the risks
of a low birth weight, or preterm labor. One step would be to attend a comprehensive prenatal care
program that are known to improve birth outcomes in situations such as Lonita s. Another way
would be for Tano to become more involved with Lonita and keep a strong bonded and caring
relationship between them. The last solution would be to apply for government aid programs to
improve financial situations. In Lonita s situation, Tano is making enough money to make it just
above the poverty line, this makes it extremely difficult to pinch their pockets and pay for medical
examinations. To avoid a stressful nine months, it is best for them to find a comprehensive health
care program available in close proximity to them or in their area. These programs educate
expecting couples on how to stay motivated and empower their children so they have a greater, and
more successful outcome than they do. Attending these programs would inform Lonita on the fact
that when she has flu like symptoms, she should not self diagnose herself and

Colonial Development, Colonialism, Colonialism And...
What is the relation between colonial experience and economic development? Answer by way of
discussing colonialism, modernisation and economic development. Introduction 300 There is a
distinct relationship between a nation s economic development and its historical colonial
experiences. For centuries, colonial rulers, primarily from Europe, spread throughout the world,
across the Americas, in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and began to transform the very fabric of
a number of populations and thriving nations. Colonising nations introduced a plethora of
technologies and took modern approaches to the integration into the global economy, which made
substantial changes to the development of a large number of colonised countries. On the other
hand, the monopolisation and exploitation of these cultures and economies spurred centuries of
oppression and crippled the development of what has become known as the Global South. For
many nations, the redirection of wealth and resources to the benefit of colonial nations triggered
the end of economic success for what are now known as developing nations and caused massive
inequality and social disparity for entire populations. In India, expected economic success was
significantly stalled by European colonisers, with key aspects of its society and livelihood
destroyed by foreign intervention. As a result, the nation was hurled backwards and its economic
development was held at a standstill, consequently subjecting the local population

The Future For Sport Management
Introduction The future for sport management in Australia appears prosperous. Over the years,
Australia has managed to develop an international reputation for sporting excellence through its
national team performances and the expansion of its sports systems (Daly, 1991; ASC, 1998;
Shilbury Kellett, 2011). The country has managed to host some of the greatest sporting events,
notably the Olympic games, the Rugby World Cup, the Cricket World Cup, with aspirations to
bring the Football (soccer) World Cup to Australia in 2018 (ASC, 2011). International sporting
events of this scale are capable of generating considerable revenue for its sport industry, as well as
the country s economy (i.e. tourism). The Australian sport industry has become a multi billion
dollar enterprise (ABS, 2013), and the role of sport management has been intensified as a result of
this. Australian Sport Systems Government Systems The support of government for sport has been
increasing over the last thirty years, and is now on the political agenda of the Australian
government (Shilbury Kellett, 2011). As Australian sport and its industry began to grow and
develop further and further, sport programs were introduced in the sport system, notably the
Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). As a result of this, the Australian Sports Commission (ASC)
was created in order to coordinate sport on the government s behalf (Shilbury Kellett, 2011). Sport

  • 2. The Song To The Aten And Hymn 104 Essay In spite of the fact that The Song to the Aten and Hymn 104 are fundamentally the same as they contain numerous distinctions. Both of the pieces contain perplexing depictions of the force and favors of the master. The presentations contain likenesses as the Egyptian Song depicts The Aten as flawlessness coming soon of the sky, and Hymn 104 portrays the Master Godas wearing Greatness and radiance. Yet the primary similitude is the request of the talk. The notice of components, similar to the sun and water are a running topic all through both pieces. The Egyptian Psalm starts by talking about the glories of the Aten and tails this up with the notice of the Sun (the Aten was a sun plate). Amid So be it hotep IV s rule, the one genuine god was the Aten, this sun plate that mirrored the sun s beams. The ruler changed his name to Akhenaten, the powerful type of the Aten. The psalm always says the force of the sun and it s association with life and passing. The cutting edge world would not see this as unrealistic as science has demonstrated that the sun is one of the key fixings in supporting life on this planet through photosynthesis, warmth, and light. These are all specified in the psalm. This is trailed by the force of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The range of dimness inside Song 104 is not by any stretch of the imagination as dim as The Psalm of the Aten, and it comes later on with an inclination of specifying the colossal manifestations of the Master first. Taking a few simple steps today can help ensure that you and your family gain the maximum benefit from your hard work and hard earned assets. By making the right estate planning decisions in your working years, you re more likely to enjoy a successful retirement in the future while protecting your assets for generations to come. Here are some basic strategies for starting, fine tuning or updating your estate plan. 1) Create a Will A surprising number of successful people including doctors, executives and business owners lack a basic will. Others forget to sign their wills or update them regularly. Make sure you have a basic will and that your document is up to date, has been signed and notarized. In addition, make sure that your executor has a copy that can be easily found in the event of your death. Without a signed will, your estate will be settled according to state laws in your state of residence, which may or may not reflect your personal wishes. 2) Write a Letter of Instruction for Personal Belongings A will typically covers major assets, such as financial accounts and real property. ( 50 words 1 or 2 objectives ) According to Mahmoud (2017), hotels need to attain their minimum occupancy levels in order to achieve average sales. By offering Malaysian consumers up to 40% discount, the objective of this promotion is to increase occupancy rate by 5% during the off peak period of 2014 in the select destinations stated. 2. Do you think it will accomplish its objectives? (Yes/No/Yes and No 2 points 100 words each) No, it was not advertised in the right channel and the duration was too short to maximise reach. • 5. The Pros And Cons Of A Biological Weapon It seems to me that the most realistic threat to our nation is that of a Biological Weapon [BW]. First, biological weapons are naturally occurring and easy to come by, such as anthrax. Not to mention the fact that it s been successfully used as weapon in the past (Anthrax, 2015). Secondly, biological weapons can cause far more death and injury with smaller amounts. In 1993, a study by the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment found that an attack on Washington D.C. using 100 kilograms of anthrax would prove to be far more deadly that an attack on the same area using a 1 megaton hydrogen bomb (Katz, 2013). The viability of a biological weapon sample doesn t seem to be in question, in my opinion, as it is naturally occurring to begin with. The only issue would be the attacker or attackers insuring that they protect themselves. Another concern with the biological weapons is the recent advances in technology, including DNA synthesis. Meaning that in the near future, any naturally occurring bio weapon could be re produced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There would be enormous difficulty in even a skilled terrorist building and deploying a nuclear bomb. Additionally, even if that same terrorist got his hands on an American nuclear weapon, it is highly unlikely that they d have the ability to detonate it (Cravens, 2016). The biggest threat our nation faces today in terms of a nuclear attack seems to be that of the threat posed by the North Korean regime who has successfully tested multiple long range missiles in recent months (Robertson Masters, 2017). Radiological weapons, often called dirty bombs, are a different story. The terrorist requires very little expertise and the items needed to complete the weapon are widely available. Although the casualties are limited, it can have both immediate and long term effects on those effected (RDD, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. 10 Things I Hate About You Analysis Who would have guessed that a movie I watched over the summer of 2010 particularly the 1999 teen romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You would forever alter my perspective on creative writing and songwriting? Even though the movie s characters were high school students and I was entering seventh grade at the time, their varied personalities seemed incredibly relatable to me. And as the months would pass, the idea of putting my thoughts about a short story based on the filmon notebook paper rarely entered my mind. It all started when my grandmother, brother, cousin, and I were all invited by a religious organization to travel with other churchgoers to Allensworth, California. Formerly the first town founded by African Americans, it was now a historic park in the state s Central Valley area. My mother truly desired for my brother and I to go, as we would learn more about the history of our ethnicity. To keep from being bored, I brought a black... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Like the movie, the story centered on two sisters who are told by their father that the only way they would be allowed to date was if they simultaneously had boyfriends. The younger sister s boyfriend was a new student and a geek, and the older sister s boyfriend was a troublemaker, just like the film. But there were a few big differences: while both sisters in the movie were both in high school, in my story, the younger sister was a high school freshman and the older sister was a young adult. My story took place in the Cincinnati area, but the film did not. And many of the characters in my story, including the sisters, and their prospective boyfriends, were of my race; the film had mostly white ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

McCornack describes listening as receiving, attending to, understanding, responding to, and recalling sounds and visual images (147). In specific, Dr. Gregory House, Dr. Allison Cameron and the students all exhibit key characteristics of the four listening styles with the incorporation of the functions of listening. First off, the main character of House M.D., Dr. Gregory House, can be described as an action oriented and time oriented listener. An action oriented listener wants brief, to the point, and accurate messages from others information they can then use to make decisions or initiate courses of action (McCornack 160). Community College to Career Fund Act was passed so Americans with low income are able to get the training they need for better paying jobs. The Fraken.Senate.Gov document implies that community colleges are harshly unfunded compared to four year colleges, and this Act will create a grant program that will increase funding. Better funding comes better training, which means better jobs and pay, which then decreases poverty for many Americans. The Community Investment and Empowerment Act described on GovTrack is ... Essay about Kurdistan s Choice of Independence For more than a century, the demand or desire for a Kurdish state somehow divided the Kurdish people and their neighbors in terms of their opinion toward an independent Kurdish state. Kurds are possibly on of the largest ethnic groups in the world that do not own a country of their own. They are the largest minorities in Iraq, Iran, Turkey, and Syria (Murray p.31). It has been a challenge due to the radical ideologies of the neighboring countries toward an independent Kurdish state since they always translated that step as a threat to the repeating of the scenario to the Kurds in their own country. The doctor s wife is also extremely happy that she can care for the blind less and less as the ward members continue to get their sight back and the fact that her and her husband will no longer have to live in the filth of the ward. I believe the wife had many moments of doubt when it came to taking care of the group because it would take a lot of responsibility for just one person. From the beginning we see that she just couldn t leave her husband and wanted to stay which led to her lying to the doctors and telling them that she was indeed blind (www.psychologytoday.com). That s where The Carter Center stepped in to aid struggling families in Africa. Led by former president Jimmy Carter and his wife, they were able to bring cures to villages that have none. Some people may say that the Carters just want to gain media attention but I will prove that is not the case. The purpose of this essay is to show why I believe the Carter Center should be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The biggest epidemic that the Carter Center was involved in was the Guinea worm disease. In just one years time the Center reduced the disease by a whopping 99 percent! That number decreased from 3.5 million to less then 11,000. Since the Center has many people to help throughout the world, they teach the people who are at the center of the disease to cure it themselves. Those who were spankingas children argue that they turned out just fine , and these parents believe that spanking is the most effective form of punishment, while there have been studies conducted that have interesting results that may come as a shock to those parents. Most studies have found that the relationship between the child and parent decreases and that children who are spanked have a less trusting and affectionate relationship with their parents and feel less guilt about misbehavior, as opposed to concern about being caught (3). Spanking is known to have only one positive effect, and that is to stop the disliked behavior immediately. Spanking can be defined as a lesson taught out of violence, and violence is defined as an act carried out with the intention, or perceived intention, of causing physical pain or injury to another person. ( 6 ). If this is the way spanking is defined, what are we teaching our children? We are teaching them that it is okay to act out of violence when they become frustrated, and that it is okay to hit someone when they are upset with them. Many believe that since spanking is done out of anger, parents who spank are more likely to commit child abuse when disciplining their children. Studies have shown that children who are spanked have a greater tendency to fear their parents and not have a loving child/parent bond. Dr. Aminifu R. Harvey, a professor at the University Of Maryland Baltimore School Of Social Work, stated that, Studies have shown that children spanked in anger lose respect for the parents and view them as out of control negating the whole point of discipline, which is to muster self control (2). Timeliness is the health system s capability to optimize services in a convenient manner, whether it embraces the time spent either waiting in a doctor s office or an emergency department. At the same time for many patients it encompasses the time between analyzing the need for tests or treatment and obtaining those results. In the aforementioned studies, an asymmetry is found between the footbridge and the bystander cases which suggests that there is an independent reason to remove any asymmetry in the personal bystander and footbridge cases. The results showed that participants were aware of the difference between weak impermissibility and all in impermissibility. In the first experiment, about 70% stated that is was not acceptable to violate a moral rule and all things considered both in the personal footbridge case. We can see a recognisable distinction in personal and moral cases, but this was not addressed in these experiments. In addition, a philosophical understanding tells us that when a rule is broken, it is wrong to go ahead with that action (e.g. Fried, 1978). It is clear then from both experiments that a difference between weak and all in permissibility is not evident (Nichols Mallon, 2005). The results show that some people think that it is acceptable to breach a moral rule, even one that allows killing innocent people. This reinforces the idea that people are not absolute deontologists, and this is similar to the issues observed in the catastrophe case. What is notable about the results is that people appreciate the recognisable difference between weak and all in impermissibility. Moreover, the results show an independent mechanism for two underlying ideas relating to moral judgement. One shows that people are able to minimise bad outcomes and the other shows people have a set ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the U.S. during the 1930 s after gaining legal recognition, after its forced underground existence, the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) was forced to reorganize and find new direction by following plans for revolution and to establish a socialist society modeled after Soviet Russia. This action initialized the development of an underground network which included recruiting spy sources and external agents for a Soviet law enforcement agency, the People s Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD). The CPUSA was also active in supporting the working class in labor issues, supporting minorities with economic and social struggles such as slavery and the fostering of trade and farmer unions, Membership in CPUSA and similar groups like the YCL saw an upsurge especially after the pass of the National Industrial Recovery Act, by President Roosevelt in 1933, which initiated a great rise in union organizing as well as communist party ... A risk factor of behavior problems are behaviors that are harmful, disruptive, and impulsive. A majority of researchers say that it is unlikely that playing violent video games will cause a child with no other risk factors to turn into an extremely violent person(Lee). Those who played the violent games appeared to have harsher punishments than those who played nonviolent games (Cooper). Children often imitate the actions of characters from games they play and find it difficult to separate reality from fantasy. Kids are changing the way they think. Says Dr. Gentile. He explains that long term exposure to this media can potentially lead to changes in both thinking and behavior. These games require the player to be an active participant, allowing them to decide the destiny of their ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 52. A Comprehensive Prenatal Care Program There are many expecting mothers in our society that are very unware of what steps to take to ensure that they maintain a healthy environment for the developing fetus. In the case of Tano and Lonita, they are a couple of struggling immigrants who are working hard to get by. Unfortunately for them are some resources that are not made available to them due to socioeconomic status. However, there are many steps they can talk in order to eliminate the risks of a low birth weight, or preterm labor. One step would be to attend a comprehensive prenatal care program that are known to improve birth outcomes in situations such as Lonita s. Another way would be for Tano to become more involved with Lonita and keep a strong bonded and caring relationship between them. The last solution would be to apply for government aid programs to improve financial situations. In Lonita s situation, Tano is making enough money to make it just above the poverty line, this makes it extremely difficult to pinch their pockets and pay for medical examinations. To avoid a stressful nine months, it is best for them to find a comprehensive health care program available in close proximity to them or in their area. These programs educate expecting couples on how to stay motivated and empower their children so they have a greater, and more successful outcome than they do. Attending these programs would inform Lonita on the fact that when she has flu like symptoms, she should not self diagnose herself and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Answer by way of discussing colonialism, modernisation and economic development. Introduction 300 There is a distinct relationship between a nation s economic development and its historical colonial experiences. For centuries, colonial rulers, primarily from Europe, spread throughout the world, across the Americas, in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, and began to transform the very fabric of a number of populations and thriving nations. Colonising nations introduced a plethora of technologies and took modern approaches to the integration into the global economy, which made substantial changes to the development of a large number of colonised countries. On the other hand, the monopolisation and exploitation of these cultures and economies spurred centuries of oppression and crippled the development of what has become known as the Global South. For many nations, the redirection of wealth and resources to the benefit of colonial nations triggered the end of economic success for what are now known as developing nations and caused massive inequality and social disparity for entire populations. In India, expected economic success was significantly stalled by European colonisers, with key aspects of its society and livelihood destroyed by foreign intervention. As a result, the nation was hurled backwards and its economic development was held at a standstill, consequently subjecting the local population ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
