The Reid Technique For Interrogation
The Reid technique
One of the most famous technique for interrogation is the Reid technique. According to the company
website, over 500,000 law enforcement and security professionals have attended the company s
interview and interrogation training programs since they were first offered in 1974. This technique is
based of nine steps:
The first step is the positive confrontation; the officer will present the fact from the case to the person
being interrogated. The officer will say that the person might be considered as a suspect because there
are proofs than connect him to the ongoing investigation.
The second step is the development of the theme, during the interrogation the interrogator will ask
why the suspect has committed the crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this point the suspect should be on the breach of being defeated in his lies. This can be seen by
nonverbal behaviors such as long silent moments or putting elbow on the knees and posing his head
on his hands. This is the point in the interrogation when the suspect begins to confess and thus the
police officer has to keep a good contact with him.
The seventh step is about presenting an alternative, which means that the interrogator will present
another reason for why the suspect committed the crime.
The eighth step is called having the suspect orally relate various details of the offense , which means
that after the suspect accepted the fact that he is guilty, the officer should try to know more about the
crime and ask for details.
The ninth step is Converting an oral confession to a written confession. This is the final step where the
suspect will write his guilt.
The Reid technics is good when people are the real suspect and interrogator just need to have the oral
and the written consent of the crime. However, this technic can be very aggressive and misleading
when the person interrogated is just a witness. In fact, Gregg McCrary, a retired F.B.I. agent, said that
Reid technique has a tendency to see lies where they sometimes may not exist. They just assume they
re interviewing the guilty guy.

Essay on Review of Ordinary Resurrections by Jonathan Kozol
Review of Ordinary Resurrections by Jonathan Kozol
In his book, Ordinary Resurrections: Children in the Years of Hope, Jonathan Kozol pulls back the veil
and provides readers with a glimpse of the harsh conditions and unrelenting hope that exists in a
community located in the South Bronx called Mott Haven. Mr. Kozol provides his own socially
conscious and very informative view of the issues facing the children and educators in this poverty
ravaged neighborhood. Just his commentary would paint a very bleak picture of the future. It is the
words of the children that give this book optimism and meaning. The courage and care exhibited by
the volunteers of St. Ann s after school program and the creativity of the teachers at P.S. 30 ... Show

Kozol describes an intimate conversation with a group of children in the sanctuary of St. Ann s in
which several of the children reveal that they miss their fathers who are in prison. One of the children,
Elio, even fibs about his father coming home the following week. Later he admits that this is not true
but will not admit where his father actually is.
During his time in the Mott Haven community, Kozol, at times, served as a father figure for the
children who yearn to share what is in their hearts with their own fathers. Kozol eloquently describes
his role, I once told another man I know, who fills a role somewhat like mine among the children, that
I felt we were like gleaners in the Bible, not in fields of grain but in a field of love that can t be
harvested by those to whom the love rightly belongs. (Kozol 130). There are other men living in Mott
Haven that also fill that void. Several members of St. Ann s parish offer supervision and support.
Other men direct athletic programs giving boys and young men an outlet and alternative to destructive
activities. Still, this involvement cannot quench the desire that the children express to be with their
own fathers.
Kozol points out that it is the women of the community that play a more consistent role in caring for
and nurturing the children. Kozol quotes one of the men as saying Women hold up the sky in this
neighborhood. (Kozol 131). Mother Martha is the priest of

Political Criticism Of Dracula
The interpretation of Stoker s vampire novel can be made from a political perspective. Stoker novel is
in respond to the political threat represented by the monster dracula. Stoker paints the character of
dracula to bring out the features of a colonizer who is yearning to spread his power and authority
beyond his home territory (England) with the objective of controlling other domains. Certainly, it
could be said that his his control of his own castle is waning fast. It is for this reason It should be
understood that colonization and the associated threats were the order of the day even in to the close
of the 19th centuary. To prove his power and control, the count controls all the places he inhabits or
owns. In the novel, reference can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though not shown in a straightforward way, the interconnectedness of these themes can be traced to
illustrate how the theme of rebellion is developed. This novel was published during an era when
women were suppressed and the community was struggling with other social problems like
homosexuality. Interestingly, Britain was at a phase when vigorous social changes were at their peak.
In the light of these vigorous changes, homosexuals could not help but express their sexual frustration.
In his novel, Stoker s presentation of the new woman , who is sexually active, powerful and
dominating, mocks the female suppression in that era. This indicates rebellion. Conclusively, the
homosexual symbolism presented in the novel could be considered as a way for Stoker to relieve the
guilt of his inability to help a dear friend, Oscar Wilde. Many hidden incidents of rebellion were
presented in this novel. It is with the help of a critical mindset that one may discern many instances of
rebellion in characters in the novel and in the author as

3.5 Methods of Selection for the most Senior and Junior Positions Methods of Selection: We will take
after two techniques for selecting the most senior and junior representative. Those are: 1. Structured
meeting: An organized meeting, once in a while called an institutionalized meeting, involves the
organization of a meeting calendar by a questioner. The point is for all interviewees to be given
precisely the same setting of addressing. This implies that every respondent got precisely the same
meeting boost as whatever other. Questioners should read out inquiries precisely and in the same
request as they are imprinted on the timetable. Inquiries are generally extremely specific and

their past bosses by checking all the references given by candidates. It is vital to know how the
workers are as an individual and how mindful and genuine they are about their employment and this is
just conceivable by surveying their past execution at any occupation. What we will check are as per
the following: a. Personal or Character References: Personal articulations from companions or
associates. b. Documentary Evidence: Certificates, capabilities, work licenses. c. Work Experience:
Descriptions gave by past managers. d. Certificates of Service: Factual data about past business. In the
wake of looking at all these things, we will at last select one individual to be named for the most
senior post. * Selection strategy for the most junior post: For the most junior post will mastermind an
unstructured meeting. Our most junior representative will be part clock, so we are considering to be a

Summary Of Three Fragments
World War Two left people calloused and experience when it came to see through the eyes of death.
This event changed culture, storytelling, as well as literature. Trough these shifts in culture,
imagination grew with the thought of what humanity is capable of. Humans learned that they are
capable of destroying the Earth. This was a radical shift of thinking for humanity. The short non
fiction piece, Three Fragments, helps capture curiosity through this short essay. The essay is structured
to tease the imagination to fill in the gaps of the essay. The language is simple, clear, soft, dry and
quick. The simplicity of the language helps the reader creature clear mental pictures as they read the
essay. The image of death is behind all of the imagery in this essay. The first line of the essay grabs the
attention of the reader, I didn t tell you how I got lice wearing a German helmet. (Simic.) Lice
generally disgust people once the topic is brought up in public. The way this line is used at first, brings
up the subject like it is almost normal and causal. From. The first sentence in the essay, there is more
reveled. The story progresses into a childhood story of snooping around, but with dead bodies. From
the start of this sentence, the reader should know that this is no typical childhood story, It was in those
first days just after the liberation of Belgrade, I was up in the old cemetery with a few friends, kind of

The Theory Of Ethical Leader
Literature Review
The following ten researched based literature reviews, would be utilized to support and validate the
hypotheses. In the research paper by Bello (2012), the concept of ethical leader, including the
characteristic of an ethical leader, the role it played in improving employee job performance and the
development of such leaders (p.229).
Through his research Bello (2012) found that employees are more willing to put an extra effort work
more effectively when they are led by ethical leaders, which results in higher satisfaction. Employees
related the level of trust in the organization with the level of ethic within the organization. Employees
who perceived their leaders as unethical, were less likely to follow them and more likely to take
advantage (Bello, 2012, p. 232). The level of an employee s commitment to the organization showed
to also be impacted by the ethical or unethical practices of their leaders. When employees felt they
were not treated fairly, their level of commitment drops, as did their job performance (Bello, 2012,
p.233). O Toole (2009), connects the impact of leadership, ethics and corporate culture on employees
and other stakeholders, such as shareholders and the community. Ethical treatment of employees was
compared through the practices of Wal Mart and Costco. Wal Mart is a non unionized, low wage, no
benefit company who does not put much importance in training and development of their employees
(O Toole, 2009). Costco is unionized,

A Narrative Essay About My Mentor
It was July 30, 1985. I had butterflies in my stomach! Today was the day I d debut with my husband,
Randy Savage as his manager. I could hear Randy s voice he was talking to the manager s, his voice
was deep plus they gave him a microphone, not that he needs one. I think he was talking to Mr.Fuji
now, he was thanking them for their help. That was my cue.
Thank you all but my manager is... , Randy yelled. I walked through the door and caught the attention
of every fan in the arena. I was walking gracefully in my heels, which was harder than I make it look.
As I came closer to the ring Randy held the ropes down like a gentleman, I stepped in and looked
around with a huge smile on my face.

I m Bret , He smiled. I sat there and twirled my hair like some blonde would do. I actually think he

my daydream.
Get a room , The blonde one said obviously jealous
Shut it Owen , Bret hissed. As I went back to chilling with Bret, the door opened, but nobody seemed
to notice because of me.
Elizabett? , Randy whispered. Hearing my husband s voice made my trans slip away.
Randy? , I said but quickly remembered the whole acting thing. I slapped him across the face which
caused him to stumble back into his locker room. I walked in and shut the door.
What was that for? , Randy yelled and held his cheek
Some people are outside and they want to attack you , I whispered

T φ gram Determination of Unreported Meteorological Quantities from T φ gram 1. Mixing Ratio

On T φ gram, we follow pseudoadiabate from L.C.L. which cuts the temperature curve at 2 points.
The 1st point is L.F.C. and 2nd point is equilibrium level. 14. Negative Area (Stable area): The area
enclosed by temperature line, dry adiabate and pseudo adiabate from surface to L.F.C. is called
negative area. It is also called stable area because in this area environment lapse rate is always less
than the dry adiabate lapse rate (D.A.L.R.) and pseudo adiabatic lapse rate. In this area temperature
curve always lies to the right of dry adiabate and moist adiabates. 15. Positive Area: The area enclosed
by temperature line and moist adiabate between L.F.C. and equilibrium level is called positive area. It
is also called unstable area because Environment Lapse Rate (E.L.R.) is always greater than moist
adiabatic lapse rate (S.A.L.R). In this area temperature curve always lies to the left of moist adiabate.
16. Virtual Temperature : It is defined as the temperature which the dry air should have in order to be
of the same density as the moist air at a given pressure. It is a ficticious temperature and its value is
slightly greater than the original temperature. TV = T + W/6 where W is mixing ratio. 17. Equivalent
Temperature (TC): It is the temperature a parcel of air would have if all its latent heat were converted

Analysis Of Janine Is A Contemporary Artist With An...
Janine Antoni is a contemporary artist with an important message. She was born in the Bahamas in
1964 and expresses herself through works in performance art, sculpture, and photography ( Janine
Antoni , 2016, par. 1). The main focus of her work is to create controversy, conversation and to build
awareness. She is most notable for her different choices in medium which assists her in getting her
message across. Antoni s medium of choice often involves using her body to create her art; often
utilizing her mouth, hair, and eyelashes to create her unique works of art. By making her piece entitled
Gnaw orally, she made the creation process both intimate and destructive, to quote Janine Antoni,
herself (Steadman, 2015, par. 5). The process in which one creates an art piece is as important as the
finished artwork. Janine s process oriented work is as Antoni said, a new way to intensely
commemorate the constricted role of women in society. (Steadman, 2015, par. 5). Janine Antoni is
constantly challenging social norms and expressing her opinion on the restraints and ideals of women
in society using her art. We can see this when we analyze Janine Antoni s piece, Butterfly Kisses . For
this piece Janine Antoni used her eyelashes as paintbrushes to demonstrate her point (Steadman, 2015,
par. 6). As seen in figure 1 above, the work was created using Cover Girl Thick Lash mascara. The
2508 butterfly kisses in this piece took Janine Antoni over month to complete ( Janine Antoni.

To What Extent Is the Conservative Party Still Committed...
TO WHAT EXTENT IS THE CONSERVATIVE PARTY STILL COMMITTED TO ITS
TRADITIONAL PRINCIPLES?
Since 1979 the conservative party has undergone significant changes from the traditional conservative
party which focused on ideas about human nature, order and pragmatism, first with new right
conservatism under Thatcher then with the current conservative party. The current conservative party
however, can be seen to still be committed to its traditional conservative principles such as Euro
scepticism and that they remain largely traditionalist. However there are many ways in which the
conservative party has changed such as taxation, education and the welfare state.
One way the conservative party has changed is through taxation. Traditionally, the ... Show more

Another way the party has deviated from traditional conservative principles is through education. In
contrast with the traditional elitist view on education by the conservatives, under Cameron there has
been a strong emphasis on the idea that everybody should be able to go to university if their ability
allows them too, supporting labours policies on scholarships to students from disadvantaged
backgrounds and also attempting to establish more apprenticeship jobs and work experience jobs to
encourage young people who perhaps wouldn t go to university to learn skills that would provide a
better future for them. However, the fact remains that the vast majority of Cameron s conservatives
graduated from private schools which does make the overview of the party seem very elitist but, its
policies and support for scholarship programmes seem to challenge this idea and show that perhaps
the conservative party has changed from that traditional view.
Another thing that shows that the conservative party has stuck to its traditional principles is the fact
that the party is still very traditionalist. The conservative party has always been very traditionalist in
its views and in many ways it still is today, little or no comment is made on social issues such as gay
adoption, the party

Programming bacteria to sense pressure

Pattern generating circuits coupled to production of organic material with inorganic interfaces allow
bacterial colonies to generate composite structures with unique function.
Mother Nature generates sophisticated and complicated structures from the humblest of ingredients.
Often their construction relies on the self assembly of building blocks resulting in hybrid structures
that combine both organic and inorganic materials. For example, Shewanella bacteria are capable of
forming extracellular networks of arsenic sulfide nanotubes with unique electrical and
photoconductive properties1. Our ability to mimic these natural processes to create desirable nano and

Cao, et al2 take advantage of an existing circuit capable of generating spatial patterning in two
dimensional populations of bacteria6 to pattern production of a modified curli protein in colonies of E.
coli. Curli is an extracellular amyloid material produced by E. coli that forms fibrils based on self
assembly of the major secreted curli subunit (CsgA) and an additional subunit CsgB. The authors
utilize the circuit described in Payne, et al (which consists of a positive feedback loop (mutant T7
RNA polymerase T7RNAP activates its own expression) and a negative feedback loop based on
production of a diffusible quorum sensing molecule AHL (see Figure 1). . Expression of the curli
protein occurs at high levels of the quorum sensing molecule AHL. By engineering curli to contain a
polyhistidine tag (6XHis) it can be interfaced with inorganic materials, for example, gold
nanoparticles conjugated to Ni Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA).
Cao et al use ink jet printing to print cells onto membranes to form single colonies of E. coli
containing this synthetic curli producing circuit. They found that the spatial patterning circuit caused
curli to be expressed in the exterior of the colony, forming domed curli structures. In contrast, cells
constitutively expressing curli without the patterning

Theme Of Love Story
The book I read is Love Story , by Erich Segal, who is an accredited screenwriter, author of scholarly

FACTs of WA MU
Washington Mutual Bank, aka WA MU, was organized in September 1889 to help provide funds for
rebuilding Seattle after the great fire. Washington Mutual became the largest thrift in the US, and one
of its largest banks. From that beginning, Washington Mutual has grown into financial services
company that offered services in mortgages, credit cards and retail landings. But if its rise was storied,
its fall was spectacular, ending in the largest bank failure in American history to date (The New York
Times, 2010). Sadly, Washington Mutual Bank, or WA MU, was seized on Thursday, September 25,
2008.
In April 21, 1982, Washington Mutual acquired Murphey Favre, Inc. and Composite Research
Management Co. WA MU decided to keep on the firm s executive vice president, Kerry K. Killinger.
Kerry was elevated to the position of president in 1988 and chief executive officer in 1990 (The New

begins by introducing the audience to Aylmer, a man of science, and how he leaves his laboratory to
become a husband for his wife Georgiana. The story then leads to a few days after their marriage
where Aylmer questions his wife if she ever thought of getting rid of her birthmark. Georgiana had a
birthmark on her check that looked like a hand of a fairy. Georgiana responded that she had always
viewed the birthmark as a positive trait for her, to which Aylmer responds yes, the birthmark would be

In the story the limit that was broken by Aylmer was that he tried to become a god essentially and try
to change the birthmark that Georgianna was born with which was to go against nature and change
what did not needed to be changed. Georgiana had been born with a very particular mark in her face
and she had learned to live with it. Aylmer did not like it because he felt it was an imperfection in her
perfect beauty. A lot of people think the same way today and that is the main reason why they decide
to take risks with their so call imperfections just as Aylmer did with his wife. In many of the times, the
results are tragic and people die just as Georgiana did in this story. Aylmer made her feel so
uncomfortable with her appearance due to the birthmark that she eventually began to hate it as well.

City during 2010s. A brief storyline of The Amazing Spider Man 2 is that, the main protagonist Peter
Parker discovers that his most critical battle is ready to begin. It is wonderful to be Spider Man, but for
Peter Parker especially, there is no feeling like swinging between towers, embracing being the hero,
and spending time with Gwen Stacey who is a girlfriend and a helper of Peter. However, being Spider
Man has disadvantages: only Spider Man could protect the New York citizens from the terrible
enemies that threaten the New York City. With the appearance of Electro named Max Dillon, who is a
main antagonist against Peter, Peter should ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The director maximized the audiences feelings by using a slow motion skill while she was falling
down to the floor and looking up the Spider man, with her miserable eyes. At a moment of his web
caught her body, her body dropped down on the ground and died. Finally, the Spider man defeated the
enemies and then coming down to the ground to check whether she was alive or not. At this moment, I
thought that the director and editor intentionally deleted all background music to make audiences only
hear his narrative telling to her. I only could hear him sobbing loudly and he was upset and expressing
his deep grief due to the tragic circumstance. Personally, I did not cry with her death, but I realized
something about hero s tragedy that the hero could not keep his love forever. Through her death, she
might be a symbol to the Spider man that just because he saved people, it did not mean that he is a
savior of all people, including Gwen. In that perspective, Peter Parker is the protagonist and
eventually Gwen s death was about how it affected our hero, but inside of that, they were able to
produce the characters with real activity. Peter returned to home depressed and empty. He threw away
his Spider man uniform and mask for a long time. He talked with his aunt about how to move on from
death and he visited Gwen s grave almost obsessively when every season passes. I found the part
where she falls was countless and it had a higher quality than the rest of the movie

Premenopausal Hormone
As a woman ages, well so does her body. Things begin to change on the outside and the inside. When
a woman reaches a certain age she gets to a point in her life where the term premenopausal something
she may hear a lot. Premenopausal is the period around the time of establishment of menopause. It is
frequently marked by various physical signs such as, hot or cold flashes, change in menstrual cycle
and irregular heartbeat (Magnolia Miller).Eleanor is going through something at all women are
basically destined to go through at some point in there later life.
Estrogen, the female hormone as so many people know it promotes the growth and health of the
female reproductive organs and system. During the premenopausal stage and then menopause the
levels of estrogen begin to fluctuate, then decline and then eventually doesn t get produce at all. In
some cases estrogen levels will rise instead of decline. Usually the levels become unpredictable ...

Cigarette smoke contains toxins and compounds that are suspected to cause reproductive damage and
possibly hormone activity. Cigarette smoking can be the deciding factor in when you start menopause
too. In menopausal women, cigarette smoking raises adrenal hormones such as cortisol. High cortisol
levels create an unstable blood sugar. The ovaries slow down production of estrogen and progesterone
but will continue to produce androgens well into a women s eighties (NCNM). Androgens without the
balance of estrogen and progesterone are the source of much dreaded hair loss in older women.
Cigarette smoking amplifies the effects. There is good news though, hormone balances can be easily
achieved and maintained when you quit

Women In Buddhism In America
Over the years, Buddhism has become one of the most popular religions in America. In 2010, the
Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA) estimated that there were approximately 2 millions
Buddhist in the US, which is around 0.7% of the population. As Buddhism s popularity continues to
grow, it is not surprise to see a lot of Buddhist s tradition integrated itself into the American culture.
There is already a tremendous amount of Americans who converted themselves into the religion alone.
Therefore, certain issues began to arise as this integration continues, one of them being the role of
women in Buddhism. Widely known as the religion of peace and kindness, not many people realized
that Buddhism is also a religion of gender equality. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, there is a wonder that if the associations that are created specifically for Buddhist women
were not created, would there ever be a place where women can thrive without being held back by the
notion that they are less than the men? After all, it is said that the Buddha reluctantly created the
twofold sangha of monks and nuns. So if the women themselves don t step up and form a place where
they can be treated as equal, there will never be a place for them to pull through the hardship that is
put upon them within the Buddhist. After all this is because of a typecast that is assigned to them

The Birthmark Literary Analysis
In The Birthmark , a short story by Nathanial Hawthorne, the use of the archetypal conflict Nature vs.
Science, the character of Damsel in Distress, and the symbol of the Incurable Wound show how easily
beauty is overlooked in the endeavor for perfection. The archetypal conflict of Nature vs. Science is
shown in Aylmer s intention to remove the birthmark, nature s constant reminder of human mortality,
from Georgiana s cheek. Aylmer believed that the birthmark might heighten Georgiana s beauty if it
wasn t her only visible imperfection, but on Georgiana s otherwise flawless complexion the birthmark
was nothing more than the fatal flaw of humanity...the ineludible gripe in which mortality clutches the
highest and purest of earthly mould, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Georgiana had always lived with the birthmark, and was quite fond of its charm. Many people in the
town believe it was a fairy s handprint left to sway all hearts; to them the mark only magnified her
appeal. The mark s charm had rarely been questioned by anyone other than the jealous women of the
town, and its peculiar nature had once intrigued Aylmer and amplified his attraction to Georgiana. He
begged for her hand in marriage, but soon after they were wed, he queried whether Georgiana had
ever considered having the birthmark removed. She was hurt by the implication that the mark
depreciated her and grew upset with her husband. As time passed, Aylmer continued to stare at the
mark, unable to keep his eyes from wandering to it. This continued until Georgiana was no longer able
to ignore the way his eyes were always fixated on this sole imperfection, the crimson hand that kept
him up at night and plagued his dreams. She asked Aylmer to remove the mark, or take her life
because she no longer wanted to live if she had to live with the mark. She preferred death to the harsh
scrutiny from her husband. The symbolic meaning of the Incurable Wound is used to show the
psychological impact of Georgiana s insecurity about the birthmark because of Aylmer s lack of
acceptance of her natural beauty. Research has primarily focused on the consequences of exposure to
beauty advertising

The Constitution And The Federal Government
The Constitution was written so that the Federal Government would actually have some ability to
govern unlike it had in the previous Articles of Confederation. They wished to establish a more
organized justice system which under the Articles, was the States responsibility and could vary greatly
from place to place. They also wanted the ability to raise an Army, to help protect its citizen s lives
and liberties. After The Revolution many of the founding fathers feared a large government and
preferred smaller and more localized forms of government. And with that lead to the Articles of
Confederation, the original governing documents, that assembled a very weak and decentralized
Federal Government and the States had most of the power. Years later many of the founders did not
feel that this was the best form of government, getting the States to assemble and agree on nearly any
bill was impossible including funding for the Federal Governments very existence. The Federalists
argued the Federal Government was powerless to protect its people without the means or money to
raise an Army, they wished for a more universal way of doing things rather than the at times chaos the
States were creating. Some other arguments for a Federal Government was there was not a system in
place to settle disputes between the states over boundaries and trade, some States charged high taxes
on the goods and people from other States. Another argument made by the Federalists was in James
Madison s essay

Outline Of A Speech On Hiv And Aids
Name:____Lucas Burr___________ Hour:___5____
Title of Speech:____Hemophilia and HIV/AIDs in the modern world__________
I. Introduction: (attention getter and transition to get to thesis)
Attention Getter: About 400,000 people are living with hemophilia, a rare blood disorder that causes
blood to clot abnormally. Many of these people also develop HIV and AIDS, an immune deficiency.
Even more shocking is the 78 million people living with HIV. All of these conditions are lifelong and
fatal. Over 40 million people each year die of HIV or hemophilia. What s even more terrifying is the
amount of misinformation pertaining to these subjects, such as the difference between HIV and AIDs,
and the causes of these conditions.
Thesis Statement: Today were going to focus on how hemophilia, HIV, and AIDs are linked, their
effects and treatments, and how they have changed from the first outbreak in the 1980 s.
Preview: We will hit the big three, then learn about their effects, and the past, present, and future of
these disorders and diseases.
First, let s get the basic of the big three.
II. Body: What are these diseases?
A. It s important to know that hemophilia is not actually a disease or virus.
https://my.clevelandclinic.org calls hemophilia a rare hereditary (inherited) bleeding disorder in which
blood cannot clot normally at the site of a wound or injury . This means that it is not contagious, rather
it is passed down through genetics. When a hemophiliac gets injured,

Too Big to Fail
Can banks become too big to fail , and should they be allowed to stay that way? On September 15th
2008, the investment bank Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy. It was, and still is, the biggest
bankruptcy filing in U.S. history , with Lehman s holding $691 billion in assets at the time. The event
was the catalyst for the current financial crisis. By the end of trading that day, $700bn had been wiped
off the global stock markets. The Dow Jones had plummeted 500 points, its biggest drop since the
terrorist attacks of 9/11 . Despite rumours and knowledge that Lehman s was struggling, with its share
price dropping daily, the huge drop in the financial markets was due to the huge shock. No one had
been expecting this, as it was anticipated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, their size and capital allows them to provide those services at cheaper rates than their
smaller counterparts. The large banks can achieve much greater levels of economies of scale. Studies
by Boyd and Heitz have shown that larger banks, (defined as having assets of over $50 billion), have
higher scale economies than their smaller counterparts . The mean measure of scale economies in the
banking industry is 1.145, whilst the larger banks had a mean of 1.25, implying that they were
therefore 9.2% more efficient than the rest of the industry. They hereby estimated that the larger banks
economies of scale increased their contribution to national output by 9.2%. These proponents argue
that the social benefits derived from these economies of scale are beneficial enough to prevent the
stricter reforms and changes being discussed by governments around the world from being
implemented. One of the main arguments against banks becoming too big to fail is that a moral hazard
problem occurs. Moral hazard is a basic economic concept, whereby one party entering a transaction
will take more risky actions if they know they have insurance against the outcomes of those actions.
At present, too big to fail banks have a variety of systems emplaced by the government, which protect
them in the event that they run into financial difficulty. For example, in the U.S. the banks creditors

Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder
Overview of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe
form of premenstrual syndrome. It can cause impairment with social activities, relationships, and
occupational duties. PMDD is thought to be brought on by an altered sensitivity to normal fluctuation
in hormones from the menstrual cycle (Hantsoo Epperson, 2015). Other possible etiologies include
genetic factors, stress, being overweight or obese, or a past history of depression, trauma, or sexual
abuse. A comprehensive review of symptoms is necessary to determine if the severity warrants a
diagnosis of PMDD. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5, in
most menstrual cycles a minimum of five symptoms must be present the week prior to the start of
menses; the symptoms must begin to decrease within a few days after the start of menses, and they
must become slight or absent in the week following menses (American Psychiatric Association, 2013).
At least one of the symptoms must be an affective symptom such as depressed mood, marked
irritability/anger, or marked anxiety. One of the following must also be present for a total of five
symptoms: decreased interest in normal routine, difficulty concentrating, fatigue, changes in appetite,
changes in sleep, feeling overwhelmed, and physical symptoms including breast tenderness or

Hippotherapy Personal Statement
It has invariably been my dream to work with children with disabilities and to achieve a career as an
Occupational Therapist. I want to work with children who have disabilities to help assist in making a
difference in their lives. From a young age, I have known what I wanted to be when I grew up. We
were close with a family when I was growing up that had a daughter who had Rett Syndrome. I grew
up watching how different therapies, particularly hippotherapy, improved her quality of life. I have
spent summers volunteering at the Equestrian Zone, which is a place that offers hippotherapy to
people who have disabilities. I ve spent my breaks from college shadowing therapists to be certain this
is what I want to spend my life doing. I have observed

Critical Appreciation Of Henry James
Henry James, like Shakespeare, had the exceptional quality in divining and rendering the poetry of
female psyche. Only a few novelists who have shown better understanding of tender and dreamy
hearts of women than James were Jane Austen, George Eliot, Sir Walter Scott, George Meredith and
Thomas Hardy.
James was a keen observer and could distinguish between American and European women. He was
deeply affected by American women s spiritual charm and moral beauty. That is why George Eliot s
heroines Dorothea Brooke and Gwendolen Harleth, in particular, is the nearest approximation of
James s own heroines. Reviewing Middlemarch, James wrote about Dorothea: ` she exhales a sort of
aroma of spiritual sweetness. In deepest level, he was inspired by emotion and intuition rather than by
intelligence and intellect. Due to certain deep, psychological reasons the young American woman
evoked the strongest spiritual response in James till the end. As for his European heroines like
Christina Light, Eugenia and Madam de Vionnet they represent a different order and style of charm.
Their appeal is that of `achieved woman . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is no doubt that James s own repressed sexuality, which breaks out in the later fiction is chiefly
responsible for his emotional shrinking and diffidence in the presence of roused sexuality. Isabel
Archer s case is often cited as a typical example of sexual fear and frigidity. Perhaps deep down in her
puritan psyche, there is still the idea of essential ugliness and bestiality of sex an idea which somehow
is not wholly dissipated, for all her cultural enlightenment. In fact her very refinement of spirit
compounds her errors and adds to such distortions in her vision. Her rejection of Caspar Goodwood,
in particular, appears to be a rejection of male sexuality roused to a desperate pitch. Somehow her
spirit quailed at the thought of her body s violation by so insistent a

Coffee Preventative Health Benefits
Coffee is a popular drink that many people rely on to start their day and give them a pick me up
throughout it. Simply smelling the rich aroma of the roasted beans brewing in the morning is enough
to start getting a person to feel more alert and prepared. When that first cup is consumed and kicks in
it gears a person up and gets them motivated for action. However, what they may not know is that by
consuming 2 3 cups of this aromatic beverage a day they may be providing preventative health
benefits on a mental and physical level. These benefits have been documented by researchers in
scientific fields based on conducting studies.
One of the benefits realized by researchers is that the minerals and elements of coffee help boost the
levels of serotonin and dopamine in the brain, which in turn will help to reduce feelings of depression
and allow a person to be in an uplifted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The consumption of coffee also contributes to aiding the liver in people who drink alcohol, so the
stereotype of giving a person coffee after a night of drinking actually does have a use in aiding to

for a person who includes coffee in their routine as well.
Coffee does have its side effects. It is best to drink it black, adding sugar or creamers not only add
calories, but may give you a jittery feeling. According to other sources, adding half and half or liquid
creamers can add almost 50 calories in coffee, whereas coffee alone is only 7 calories. Coffee will
make you urinate frequently as it is a natural diuretic which causes more frequent urination, and it

No Child Left Behind is Beneficial Essay
Political Influences that Helped to Determine the NCLB Act The publication in 1983 of A Nation at
Risk Report, flung education into the political ring as the Reagan Administration reasoned the state of
education to be a national security risk (Reutzel, 2009). This report caused the public and politicians
to start to examine education and the state of reading readiness of the kids of the United States
(Reutzel, 2009). By 1994, President Bill Clinton started the course of rallying the National Governor s
Convention with legislation entitled Goals 2000: Educate America Act. This act was the start of
countrywide testing in reading and math to demonstrate responsibility for public education. At the
same time, the National Assessment of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now the literacy education community finds itself under the attentive eye of the political arena.
Why and How NCLB Formed The No Child Left Behind Act was begun in 2001 as a consequence of
states altering their education strategies in order to hold the schools more answerable for their kids
accomplishment. During the past couple of years all the states shaped some sort of regulation to hold
schools answerable so that there would be more of a scheme to make sure that all kids were
successful. But in the past those kids who were in Special Education classes were not be appraised
throughout these statewide assessments. This was established to be bothersome for the reason that no
one knew how those children in the special education classes were doing. No one knew if they were
falling behind, what kind of education were they getting and how they could be incorporated in testing
so that people in charge would know that the special education students were not being left behind
(History and Overview of the No Child Left Behind Act of 200, n.d.). Before the NCLB was
fashioned, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1997 started to compel schools to
necessitate special education students to be integrated in the statewide tests. And, if they were not
physically able to take the test there had to be some sort of scrutiny report that would account for the
position of these students. Then in 2001 the NCLB was fashioned and made sure that children

The book After, written by Amy Efaw, is an addictive, action packed book. The fiction story is about a
girl named Devon Sky Davenport who was pregnant, but in denial. She wakes up one morning, sick,
and stays home from school that day. That night, she gives birth at home by herself, and throws the
baby in the trash after putting it in a garbage bag. Devon goes to jail where she makes friends and has
to cooperate with her lawyer. Devon can t remember anything from the night when she gave birth but
as things start clicking into place, Devon realizes what she has done, and starts having suicidal
thoughts. Devon must tell her lawyer the details, although it is hard, so she can be tried in a juvenile
court and only get 5 years, but if she doesn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author uses a great deal of detail when describing characters. For example, the author wrote,
Yellow...yellow. The color of Devon s mom s hair. The color of a sun breaking through the flat gray
clouds. Of a lemon drop. Devon allows her eyes to droop closed for a moment. I can distinctly
imagine the appearance of the characters because the author uses the detail that he does. The plot of
this book moves quickly because she starts to remember things from That Night from flashbacks that
happen often. The text reads, She steps slightly closer to him, lets her shoulder brush his arm as they
walk hand in hand. Lets her hip bump into his. Once. Then. Twice.... The author uses plenty of
imagery when describing places and people. For example, the author wrote, Devon s eyes skim over
the room s three rectangular tables and finds that vacant seat indicated. It s beside the pale girl with
the breads. The girl scoots her chair back to make room for Devon, presenting the seat with an open
hand, her crooked smile creeping back over her face. The author s tone in this book is stressful, and
outraged. An example from the story includes, No! Get out of here! Devon s mom lunges at the man,
grabbing his shoulders from behind, her long nails digging into his jacket. Get the hell out of here! Are
you hearing me? The other man, the one in the uniform, appears suddenly, pulling Devon s mom off
of the first man. The theme of this story is displacement. Devon is a girl who gets good grades, is
involved in sports, and gets her work done on time. She is not someone you would expect to be in jail,
and she is so much different from her peers in jail. I can apply this lesson in my life because if I am
ever in a place where I feel uncomfortable and out of place, I know that it will end soon. This lesson
will make a change in my future

  • 2. The Reid Technique For Interrogation The Reid technique One of the most famous technique for interrogation is the Reid technique. According to the company website, over 500,000 law enforcement and security professionals have attended the company s interview and interrogation training programs since they were first offered in 1974. This technique is based of nine steps: The first step is the positive confrontation; the officer will present the fact from the case to the person being interrogated. The officer will say that the person might be considered as a suspect because there are proofs than connect him to the ongoing investigation. The second step is the development of the theme, during the interrogation the interrogator will ask why the suspect has committed the crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At this point the suspect should be on the breach of being defeated in his lies. This can be seen by nonverbal behaviors such as long silent moments or putting elbow on the knees and posing his head on his hands. This is the point in the interrogation when the suspect begins to confess and thus the police officer has to keep a good contact with him. The seventh step is about presenting an alternative, which means that the interrogator will present another reason for why the suspect committed the crime. The eighth step is called having the suspect orally relate various details of the offense , which means that after the suspect accepted the fact that he is guilty, the officer should try to know more about the crime and ask for details. The ninth step is Converting an oral confession to a written confession. This is the final step where the suspect will write his guilt. The Reid technics is good when people are the real suspect and interrogator just need to have the oral and the written consent of the crime. However, this technic can be very aggressive and misleading when the person interrogated is just a witness. In fact, Gregg McCrary, a retired F.B.I. agent, said that Reid technique has a tendency to see lies where they sometimes may not exist. They just assume they re interviewing the guilty guy. • 3. Essay on Review of Ordinary Resurrections by Jonathan Kozol Review of Ordinary Resurrections by Jonathan Kozol In his book, Ordinary Resurrections: Children in the Years of Hope, Jonathan Kozol pulls back the veil and provides readers with a glimpse of the harsh conditions and unrelenting hope that exists in a community located in the South Bronx called Mott Haven. Mr. Kozol provides his own socially conscious and very informative view of the issues facing the children and educators in this poverty ravaged neighborhood. Just his commentary would paint a very bleak picture of the future. It is the words of the children that give this book optimism and meaning. The courage and care exhibited by the volunteers of St. Ann s after school program and the creativity of the teachers at P.S. 30 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kozol describes an intimate conversation with a group of children in the sanctuary of St. Ann s in which several of the children reveal that they miss their fathers who are in prison. One of the children, Elio, even fibs about his father coming home the following week. Later he admits that this is not true but will not admit where his father actually is. During his time in the Mott Haven community, Kozol, at times, served as a father figure for the children who yearn to share what is in their hearts with their own fathers. Kozol eloquently describes his role, I once told another man I know, who fills a role somewhat like mine among the children, that I felt we were like gleaners in the Bible, not in fields of grain but in a field of love that can t be harvested by those to whom the love rightly belongs. (Kozol 130). There are other men living in Mott Haven that also fill that void. Several members of St. Ann s parish offer supervision and support. Other men direct athletic programs giving boys and young men an outlet and alternative to destructive activities. Still, this involvement cannot quench the desire that the children express to be with their own fathers. Kozol points out that it is the women of the community that play a more consistent role in caring for and nurturing the children. Kozol quotes one of the men as saying Women hold up the sky in this neighborhood. (Kozol 131). Mother Martha is the priest of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Political Criticism Of Dracula The interpretation of Stoker s vampire novel can be made from a political perspective. Stoker novel is in respond to the political threat represented by the monster dracula. Stoker paints the character of dracula to bring out the features of a colonizer who is yearning to spread his power and authority beyond his home territory (England) with the objective of controlling other domains. Certainly, it could be said that his his control of his own castle is waning fast. It is for this reason It should be understood that colonization and the associated threats were the order of the day even in to the close of the 19th centuary. Though not shown in a straightforward way, the interconnectedness of these themes can be traced to illustrate how the theme of rebellion is developed. This novel was published during an era when women were suppressed and the community was struggling with other social problems like homosexuality. Interestingly, Britain was at a phase when vigorous social changes were at their peak. In the light of these vigorous changes, homosexuals could not help but express their sexual frustration. In his novel, Stoker s presentation of the new woman , who is sexually active, powerful and dominating, mocks the female suppression in that era. This indicates rebellion. Conclusively, the homosexual symbolism presented in the novel could be considered as a way for Stoker to relieve the guilt of his inability to help a dear friend, Oscar Wilde. Many hidden incidents of rebellion were presented in this novel. It is with the help of a critical mindset that one may discern many instances of rebellion in characters in the novel and in the author as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The point is for all interviewees to be given precisely the same setting of addressing. This implies that every respondent got precisely the same meeting boost as whatever other. • 8. The Theory Of Ethical Leader Literature Review The following ten researched based literature reviews, would be utilized to support and validate the hypotheses. In the research paper by Bello (2012), the concept of ethical leader, including the characteristic of an ethical leader, the role it played in improving employee job performance and the development of such leaders (p.229). Through his research Bello (2012) found that employees are more willing to put an extra effort work more effectively when they are led by ethical leaders, which results in higher satisfaction. Employees related the level of trust in the organization with the level of ethic within the organization. Employees who perceived their leaders as unethical, were less likely to follow them and more likely to take advantage (Bello, 2012, p. 232). The level of an employee s commitment to the organization showed to also be impacted by the ethical or unethical practices of their leaders. When employees felt they were not treated fairly, their level of commitment drops, as did their job performance (Bello, 2012, p.233). O Toole (2009), connects the impact of leadership, ethics and corporate culture on employees and other stakeholders, such as shareholders and the community. Ethical treatment of employees was compared through the practices of Wal Mart and Costco. Wal Mart is a non unionized, low wage, no benefit company who does not put much importance in training and development of their employees (O Toole, 2009). Costco is unionized, ... • 12. Analysis Of Janine Is A Contemporary Artist With An... Janine Antoni is a contemporary artist with an important message. She was born in the Bahamas in 1964 and expresses herself through works in performance art, sculpture, and photography ( Janine Antoni , 2016, par. 1). The main focus of her work is to create controversy, conversation and to build awareness. She is most notable for her different choices in medium which assists her in getting her message across. Antoni s medium of choice often involves using her body to create her art; often utilizing her mouth, hair, and eyelashes to create her unique works of art. By making her piece entitled Gnaw orally, she made the creation process both intimate and destructive, to quote Janine Antoni, herself (Steadman, 2015, par. 5). The process in which one creates an art piece is as important as the finished artwork. Janine s process oriented work is as Antoni said, a new way to intensely commemorate the constricted role of women in society. (Steadman, 2015, par. 5). Janine Antoni is constantly challenging social norms and expressing her opinion on the restraints and ideals of women in society using her art. We can see this when we analyze Janine Antoni s piece, Butterfly Kisses . For this piece Janine Antoni used her eyelashes as paintbrushes to demonstrate her point (Steadman, 2015, par. 6). As seen in figure 1 above, the work was created using Cover Girl Thick Lash mascara. The 2508 butterfly kisses in this piece took Janine Antoni over month to complete ( Janine Antoni. ... Since 1979 the conservative party has undergone significant changes from the traditional conservative party which focused on ideas about human nature, order and pragmatism, first with new right conservatism under Thatcher then with the current conservative party. The current conservative party however, can be seen to still be committed to its traditional conservative principles such as Euro scepticism and that they remain largely traditionalist. In contrast with the traditional elitist view on education by the conservatives, under Cameron there has been a strong emphasis on the idea that everybody should be able to go to university if their ability allows them too, supporting labours policies on scholarships to students from disadvantaged backgrounds and also attempting to establish more apprenticeship jobs and work experience jobs to encourage young people who perhaps wouldn t go to university to learn skills that would provide a better future for them. However, the fact remains that the vast majority of Cameron s conservatives graduated from private schools which does make the overview of the party seem very elitist but, its policies and support for scholarship programmes seem to challenge this idea and show that perhaps the conservative party has changed from that traditional view. Another thing that shows that the conservative party has stuck to its traditional principles is the fact that the party is still very traditionalist. The authors utilize the circuit described in Payne, et al (which consists of a positive feedback loop (mutant T7 RNA polymerase T7RNAP activates its own expression) and a negative feedback loop based on production of a diffusible quorum sensing molecule AHL (see Figure 1). . Expression of the curli protein occurs at high levels of the quorum sensing molecule AHL. By engineering curli to contain a polyhistidine tag (6XHis) it can be interfaced with inorganic materials, for example, gold nanoparticles conjugated to Ni Nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA). Cao et al use ink jet printing to print cells onto membranes to form single colonies of E. coli containing this synthetic curli producing circuit. • 20. Hawthorne Birthmark The Birth mark was written by Nathaniel Hawthorne and published in March of 1843. The story begins by introducing the audience to Aylmer, a man of science, and how he leaves his laboratory to become a husband for his wife Georgiana. The story then leads to a few days after their marriage where Aylmer questions his wife if she ever thought of getting rid of her birthmark. Georgiana had a birthmark on her check that looked like a hand of a fairy. Georgiana responded that she had always viewed the birthmark as a positive trait for her, to which Aylmer responds yes, the birthmark would be a beautiful charm for other people except on her because it ruined her beauty. A brief storyline of The Amazing Spider Man 2 is that, the main protagonist Peter Parker discovers that his most critical battle is ready to begin. It is wonderful to be Spider Man, but for Peter Parker especially, there is no feeling like swinging between towers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen Stacey who is a girlfriend and a helper of Peter. At a moment of his web caught her body, her body dropped down on the ground and died. Finally, the Spider man defeated the enemies and then coming down to the ground to check whether she was alive or not. At this moment, I thought that the director and editor intentionally deleted all background music to make audiences only hear his narrative telling to her. I only could hear him sobbing loudly and he was upset and expressing his deep grief due to the tragic circumstance. Personally, I did not cry with her death, but I realized something about hero s tragedy that the hero could not keep his love forever. Through her death, she might be a symbol to the Spider man that just because he saved people, it did not mean that he is a savior of all people, including Gwen. In that perspective, Peter Parker is the protagonist and eventually Gwen s death was about how it affected our hero, but inside of that, they were able to produce the characters with real activity. Peter returned to home depressed and empty. He threw away his Spider man uniform and mask for a long time. The Birthmark Literary Analysis In The Birthmark , a short story by Nathanial Hawthorne, the use of the archetypal conflict Nature vs. Science, the character of Damsel in Distress, and the symbol of the Incurable Wound show how easily beauty is overlooked in the endeavor for perfection. The archetypal conflict of Nature vs. Science is shown in Aylmer s intention to remove the birthmark, nature s constant reminder of human mortality, from Georgiana s cheek. Aylmer believed that the birthmark might heighten Georgiana s beauty if it wasn t her only visible imperfection, but on Georgiana s otherwise flawless complexion the birthmark was nothing more than the fatal flaw of humanity...the ineludible gripe in which mortality clutches the highest and purest of earthly mould, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Georgiana had always lived with the birthmark, and was quite fond of its charm. Many people in the town believe it was a fairy s handprint left to sway all hearts; to them the mark only magnified her appeal. The mark s charm had rarely been questioned by anyone other than the jealous women of the town, and its peculiar nature had once intrigued Aylmer and amplified his attraction to Georgiana. He begged for her hand in marriage, but soon after they were wed, he queried whether Georgiana had ever considered having the birthmark removed. She was hurt by the implication that the mark depreciated her and grew upset with her husband. As time passed, Aylmer continued to stare at the mark, unable to keep his eyes from wandering to it. This continued until Georgiana was no longer able to ignore the way his eyes were always fixated on this sole imperfection, the crimson hand that kept him up at night and plagued his dreams. She asked Aylmer to remove the mark, or take her life because she no longer wanted to live if she had to live with the mark. She preferred death to the harsh scrutiny from her husband. • 25. The Constitution And The Federal Government The Constitution was written so that the Federal Government would actually have some ability to govern unlike it had in the previous Articles of Confederation. They wished to establish a more organized justice system which under the Articles, was the States responsibility and could vary greatly from place to place. They also wanted the ability to raise an Army, to help protect its citizen s lives and liberties. After The Revolution many of the founding fathers feared a large government and preferred smaller and more localized forms of government. And with that lead to the Articles of Confederation, the original governing documents, that assembled a very weak and decentralized Federal Government and the States had most of the power. Years later many of the founders did not feel that this was the best form of government, getting the States to assemble and agree on nearly any bill was impossible including funding for the Federal Governments very existence. The Federalists argued the Federal Government was powerless to protect its people without the means or money to raise an Army, they wished for a more universal way of doing things rather than the at times chaos the States were creating. Some other arguments for a Federal Government was there was not a system in place to settle disputes between the states over boundaries and trade, some States charged high taxes on the goods and people from other States. The mean measure of scale economies in the banking industry is 1.145, whilst the larger banks had a mean of 1.25, implying that they were therefore 9.2% more efficient than the rest of the industry. Goehring Psychology 612B National University Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder Overview of Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome. It can cause impairment with social activities, relationships, and occupational duties. PMDD is thought to be brought on by an altered sensitivity to normal fluctuation in hormones from the menstrual cycle (Hantsoo Epperson, 2015). Other possible etiologies include genetic factors, stress, being overweight or obese, or a past history of depression, trauma, or sexual abuse. A comprehensive review of symptoms is necessary to determine if the severity warrants a diagnosis of PMDD. According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5, in most menstrual cycles a minimum of five symptoms must be present the week prior to the start of menses; the symptoms must begin to decrease within a few days after the start of menses, and they must become slight or absent in the week following menses (American Psychiatric Association, 2013). At least one of the symptoms must be an affective symptom such as depressed mood, marked irritability/anger, or marked anxiety. • 30. Critical Appreciation Of Henry James Henry James, like Shakespeare, had the exceptional quality in divining and rendering the poetry of female psyche. Only a few novelists who have shown better understanding of tender and dreamy hearts of women than James were Jane Austen, George Eliot, Sir Walter Scott, George Meredith and Thomas Hardy. James was a keen observer and could distinguish between American and European women. He was deeply affected by American women s spiritual charm and moral beauty. That is why George Eliot s heroines Dorothea Brooke and Gwendolen Harleth, in particular, is the nearest approximation of James s own heroines. Reviewing Middlemarch, James wrote about Dorothea: ` she exhales a sort of aroma of spiritual sweetness. In deepest level, he was inspired by emotion and intuition rather than by intelligence and intellect. Due to certain deep, psychological reasons the young American woman evoked the strongest spiritual response in James till the end. Perhaps deep down in her puritan psyche, there is still the idea of essential ugliness and bestiality of sex an idea which somehow is not wholly dissipated, for all her cultural enlightenment. In fact her very refinement of spirit compounds her errors and adds to such distortions in her vision. Why and How NCLB Formed The No Child Left Behind Act was begun in 2001 as a consequence of states altering their education strategies in order to hold the schools more answerable for their kids accomplishment. During the past couple of years all the states shaped some sort of regulation to hold schools answerable so that there would be more of a scheme to make sure that all kids were successful. But in the past those kids who were in Special Education classes were not be appraised throughout these statewide assessments. This was established to be bothersome for the reason that no one knew how those children in the special education classes were doing. No one knew if they were falling behind, what kind of education were they getting and how they could be incorporated in testing so that people in charge would know that the special education students were not being left behind (History and Overview of the No Child Left Behind Act of 200, n.d.). Before the NCLB was fashioned, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1997 started to compel schools to necessitate special education students to be integrated in the statewide tests. The color of a sun breaking through the flat gray clouds. Of a lemon drop. Devon allows her eyes to droop closed for a moment. I can distinctly imagine the appearance of the characters because the author uses the detail that he does. The plot of this book moves quickly because she starts to remember things from That Night from flashbacks that happen often. The text reads, She steps slightly closer to him, lets her shoulder brush his arm as they walk hand in hand. Lets her hip bump into his. Once. Then. Twice.... The author uses plenty of imagery when describing places and people. For example, the author wrote, Devon s eyes skim over the room s three rectangular tables and finds that vacant seat indicated. It s beside the pale girl with the breads. The girl scoots her chair back to make room for Devon, presenting the seat with an open hand, her crooked smile creeping back over her face. The author s tone in this book is stressful, and outraged. An example from the story includes, No! Get out of here! Devon s mom lunges at the man, grabbing his shoulders from behind, her long nails digging into his jacket. Get the hell out of here! Are you hearing me? The other man, the one in the uniform, appears suddenly, pulling Devon s mom off of the first man. The theme of this story is displacement.
