Comparing Three Creation Myths
Beginning with the first chapter in the Book of Genesis, 1:1 31 through to 2:1 3, which is the
most recognized Hebrew and Christian version of the Creation story. On the first day God creates
heaven, Earth, day and night. Then on the second day the skies and oceans are formed. Next on the
third day is the creation of dry land, vegetation and fruit trees. This is followed on the fourth day
with the formation of the sun, moon and stars. On the fifth day all creatures that swim along with
all creatures that fly are created. Finally, on the sixth day God creates all of the other remaining
creatures and animals that will live on the earthas well as man and woman. Afterwards, with all of

Questions On Why Kids Lie Essay

Why kids Lie In the world there a lot of kids that likes to lie. They lie because they don t think the
consequences that have telling lies. It is because sometimes parent don t show their kids to don t
lie. There are other parents that sometimes make their kids to tell the truth but kids don t do that.
According to some articles, news, and studies, there are a result about why kids lie. There are some
articles where show a percentage why kids lie, also there are some news or studies that show the
same. Some studies show why kids lie and why isn t important. Po Bronson Ashley Merryman in
their article why kids lie (p80). States that parents often fail to address early childhood lying, since
the lying is almost innocent. Their child s too young to know what lies are, or that lying s
wrong. When the child gets older and learns that lies are bad, parents believe that lying will stop.
A child who is going to lie must recognize the truth, intellectually conceive of an alternate reality,
and be able to convincingly sell that new reality to someone else. When children first begin to
lying, they lie to avoid punishment, and because of that they lie indiscriminately. One short
example is, if there are two kids in room and one of them broke a television the more intelligent
will call their mom to tell that he wasn t the responsible that was his brother. By the time a child
reaches school age, her reasons for lying

7 Great Virtues
Ben Franklin
The first virtue Ben Franklin wanted was An Aversion to Tyranny . The main idea of this to Ben
is that he doesn t like tyranny, which is power or control of one person. He didn t like to be told
what to do to and he also liked some control and therefore, have a limited government. Ben didn t
want any dictatorship either, which meant no kings or queens. Franklin realized that he didn t like
the idea of tyranny when he was 12 years old. He became an apprentice at the print shop of his
older brother, James, who tended to be a tougher boss. I think that Aversion to Tyranny definitely
still exists in America today. We still do not have any dictatorship in today s... Show more content

The fifth virtue Ben Franklin put on the list of America s virtues was Idealism in Foreign Policy .
Franklin once wrote, The influence of every power is measured by the opinion one has of its
intrinsic force. When he went to Paris as an envoy during the Revolution, Franklin proved
himself a master of the diplomatic doctrine of realism by playing an adroit balance of power
game between France, Spain, the Netherlands, and later on, Britain. The main idea of this virtue,
as I see it, is that Franklin basically tried to portray each country s position as desirable to him.
In a way, this virtue still exists in America today. The only thing I can think of for this virtue in
today s world is Iraq. Even though it isn t ideal to be at war with a country, we do our best to
fight against them and eventually hopefully end the war and win it. The sixth virtue Ben Franklin
wanted was Compromise . Franklin used the phrase, Both sides must part with some of their
demands, many times. He used it the most when the Constitutional Convention was deciding on the
issue of whether the new Congress should be proportioned by population or have equal votes for
each state. For Franklin, who personally believed in proportional representation, compromise was
not only a practical approach but also a moral one. He believed that

High School Student
Becoming successful high school students takes a profuse amount of time and effort to achieve.
Going to college and receiving high paying scholarships can help in aiding students so that they
can acquire a good job. Many of the rewards of students becoming ahead in high school include
receiving admittance and getting ahead in college. Students can also have the opportunity to receive
high paying scholarships. Also, when students become ahead in college, that means that they will
potentially have an opportunity to graduate early from college. If the students go to college after
high school, they will most likely have better job opportunities than students who choose to remain
not so successful in high school. With so many advantages of becoming successful in high school,
students often face many hardships along the way. One of the main factors that students encounter
when trying to prevail in high school is isolation. Students often experience isolation when trying to
succeed in high school because of the work it takes to commit to becoming successful. In order for
the students to be able to reach their goals, they must spend more time studying and making sure
they complete all of their homework. The students must have goals in their life to become
successful. Students must have goals because when attempting to become a successful high school
student, they will potentially have to sacrifice popularity, sports, and extra activities. Students may
have to sacrifice popularity

E Bach s Influence On The Empfindsam Style And Future...
C.P.E Bach s Influence on the Empfindsam Style and Future Composers Carl Phillip Emmanuel
Bach is listed in many history books as an important transitional composer between the baroque
style and the classical style without giving specific reasons why. This essay focuses on the
significant contributions C.P.E Bach made to musictheory and the way music was performed. This
essay will also cover his influence on the emerging empfindsam style and the inspiration he gave
his musical successors, such as Haydn and Mozart.
C.P.E Bach believed music should achieve a connection with listeners on the emotional level. He
himself was influenced by the Enlightenment and it came out in his view of music and his very
individual compositional style. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His sonatas effectively capture the idea of continuously changing emotions, which is a key
feature of empfindsam style. C.P.E. Bach s genius in his contributions to keyboard playing and
composition are often skimmed over. He is gets lost in the transition between his father J.S.
Bach to Haydn and Mozart. By the time Haydn and Mozart came to the forefront of the new
classical music Bach s fingering for scales and fundamental bass was widely used. C.P.E. Bach
did not agree with many of the existing treatises on music theory including a leading music
theorist Rameau. His largest disagreement was with Rameau s ideas on fundamental bass.
Fundamental bass is what is known as the root of chords today. Bach recognized that there were
more chords than Rameau having only one root but having several qualities. Lester says that
Rameau s ideas are regarded as an important predecessor to music theory but is criticized about his
idea that chords had two different roots (157). According to Mitchell, William J., Bach recognized
twenty chords some of which are variations of chords including subtypes and chromatic alterations.
Bach also disagreed with Rameau on the behavior of chords. He believed that the intervals in the
transitions between chords were important beyond the base notes of the chords. He emphasized
context and

National Football League Essay
The National Football League has been having some problems lately with its ratings because of
the conflict they re having is making people not want to watch. The football players exercising
their right to express what they feel about certain politics going on in the United States. The only
problem is along the way they have forgotten what they are protesting for. It started with Colin
Kaepernick expressing what he felt about the current issue in America to kneeling because it was
the right thing to do or not because it was the wrong thing to do. These protests are making fans
choose the side he or she wants to be on and splitting the fan like that is not good for the league.

Also, Colin Kaepernick is protected under federal labor laws. To be protected under federal labor
law, an employee s action must be conducted in concert with co workers. It must address an issue
of relevance to their job, and it must be carried out using appropriate means. Workers can t, say,
damage property or threaten violence. If the workers have a collective bargaining agreement with
their employer that forbids certain actions like striking they can t do that, either.
These recent protests are believed to be protected and meet all three conditions to be protected. As
a result of this the teams or players are not discipline for this even though now Colin Kaepernick
is unemployed and no NFL team wants him. They claim that it is because he is not good enough
of a quarterback but it was because of his protesting. He may have been protected but the national
football league owners found a way around it in firing him. This happens to employees too that are
not in professional teams when they are protesting against injustices but are fired anyway because
owners find another way to fire them.
After all this came to be, other players started doing this the season after and this is where the
problem arises. The national football league is splitting their fans in two thus having their rating
plummet because people do not want to watch the games. Football is not meant to separate fans but
bring them together. Fans that watch the games regularly do not want to see players

Introduction
A new study commissioned by Intel Corporation and conducted by Penn Schoen Berland found
that young adults, especially millennials (aged 18 to 24) who grew up with smartphones, iPads and
other digital gizmos and gadgets, are increasingly tech savvy; but many who fall into this category
also think technology is making people less human in the process. The Intel Innovation Barometer
further revealed that the millennials globally show a stark contrast to their reputation as digital
natives who can t get enough of the high tech stuff in their lives. In fact, the study noted a majority
of millennials even agree that technology makes people less human (Suciu, 2013).

Technology and Children
Human beings are social beings by nature; right from birth, humans experience this socialization
and this socialization is the core of being human. Gawande (2009) once wrote:
Human beings are social creatures. We are social not just in the trivial sense that we like company,
and not just in the obvious sense that we each depend on others. We are social in a more elemental
way: simply to exist as a normal human being requires interaction with other people.
The need to physically interact with other fellow human beings especially as children roots its
essence in the fact that through these interactions children learn a lot about other human beings. It
is through such interactions that children learn how to be responsive and how to relate to others.
Human beings come into the world programmed to respond and relate to others. Even infants turn
in response to the sound of a human voice. These interactions are very important in helping
children develop emotionally and socially. These interactions provide a training ground for
children to try out different ways of relating to others. Through interacting with fellow children and
/or humans, children learn the give and take of social behavior in general. They learn how to set up
rules, how to weigh alternatives and make decisions when faced with dilemmas. They learn that
different people and different situations call for different behaviors and they come to

The American Work, The Great Gatsby By F. Scott Fitzgerald
To many of us writing can be a daunting task, and often more complicated than it should be, but,
as stated by famed American author Ernest Hemingway, There is nothing to writing, All you do is
sit down at a typewriter and bleed . The fact of the matter is, eventually blood clots, and scabs
form. It s the same in writing; many authors bleed onto a page and use their metaphorical blood as
ink, thus placing a piece of themselves into their work. But, no matter how great the author,
eventually writer block ensues, casting a writer into a literary funk and halting the flow of thematic
ideas; however, themes such as love and wealth transcend time, culture, and language. So it s not
difficult to think that famed authors, when in a pinch, often recycle broad themes to create a more
compelling and relatable story. In the American work, The Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgeraldand its
cinematic counterpart, directed by Baz Lutherman, themes such as wealth, love, isolation, and
dissatisfaction are used to create a novel that still holds parallels to the world of today.
The theme of wealth is prevalent in the works of the The Great Gatsby. The wealthy are portrayed
as educated businessmen who have found a prosperous niche, often illegally. Persons with enough
money are held in higher esteem than their middle class compatriots. In Gatsby s world money
buys social acceptance, and it also grants living in the world without repercussions. In chapter four
of The Great Gatsby, Gatsby, on his

A Research Field On My Life Career
Research is a very important aspect of any professional field that many students fail to notice. As
far as my understanding, backbone of any professional field consists of two important parts, the
academic part; knowledge and practical aspect, and the research part. The academic part helps
the professionals to apply the knowledge in the practical life, but the research part is the one that
provides all the knowledge and does mostly all the behind the scene work. That is why it would
be preferred for every student in their respective discipline to participate and explore research in
their respective field. This is the reason as to why I want to participate in the research field relating
to my Medicinecareer.
Research is very useful because it helps in expanding previous knowledge and adding new
knowledge for any particular discipline. Not only that, research helps students to get the better
understanding of what they are studying in classes and lectures. It provides student the background
knowledge of the stuff they learn in a classroom. This prepares students to expand their horizon,
think outside the box, critically analyze using the scientific method, and helps students to use their
behind the scene knowledge to experiment and discover new things. Thus research ultimately helps
in the adding new knowledge to the disciple.
My academic goal is to get a bachelor degree in biomedical sciences and biotechnology from the
University of Central Florida and then apply to medical

How Did Ancient Egyptomania Affect The Modern World
Egyptomania; the expression used to encompass the West s complete allure with the wonders and
mysteries of the Ancient Egyptian world. Part of this fascination stems from unconscious

How Did Galileo Galilei Contribute To Science
Galileo Galilei was a remarkable figure in the history of science. Due to his studies in science, the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Test Automation
The perpetual demand for faster time to market high quality products at lower cost, drives
organizations towards test automation. However, only few succeed in reaping the benefits. If test
automation has been there for a long time, then why many organizations fail to implement it
enterprise wide? Though there are enormous benefits in automating test cases, such as reduce cost
and time on manual test execution efforts, safety net over accelerated new development, faster
feedback cycles, error prone consistent testing, and productivity booster within testing teams. There
are some challenges too. The sail is never smooth! When the challenges are not overcome in a

main challenges faced by the organizations in general.

The longer and the more frequent the test cases are executed, the more return is gained. Hence, it is
not advisable to invest in automation when the life of product is short; only fewer releases are

To work on automation, some programming knowledge is inevitable, also proficiency with the test
tool. It takes time to familiarize with the tool, standards, and guidelines set. With advanced
applications comes custom (application specific) components which might be difficult to be
identified by the tool. In this case, we may have to write our own mechanisms for component

History of Gun Control in America
Introduction When it comes to controversial topics in today s society, there are so many that it can
be difficult to be a straight shooter. Among all of them, however, debate over gun control has been
prevalent for so long, it is something many people can easily set their sights on. It is an issue
everybody should have an opinion on, as it is vastly important, potentially threatening, and all too
present in modern society. Many find the mere concept of gun control invasive to their
constitutional rights, while others see lack of gun control to be astoundingly dangerous and entirely
chimerical. Protection of oneself and their rights may or may not be more important than hundreds
of lives lost potentially due to fairly unrestricted gun... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Increases in gun control were slight from then until the 1960 s, a decade bejeweled with peace
movements. Landmark events such as the emerge of vast controversy of America s war with
Vietnam and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy encouraged broad legislation in favor
of gun control. During this time period, Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson s seized advantage of the
nation s opinions, and won passage of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968
and the Gun Control Act of 1968 (History of Gun control Legislation 1). The latter became primary
law for regulating firearms, restricting felons, drug users, and the mentally ill from buying guns,
expanding gun dealers licensing and record keeping requirements, and raised the legal age for
purchasing handguns to 21.
Nearly two decades later, constituential opinions toward gun control saw a prominent shift,
displaying opposition of it. Congress passed the Firearm Owners Protection Act of 1986, which
protected gun dealers whom were not found to be violating multiple codes from inspections by the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms more than once a year. The shift in opinion was not
unanimous though, and during the same year civilian ownership of machine guns built after May
19th of 1986 was banned. However, the law played no effect on firearms

People around the world turn to the practice as a way to relieve pain, stress and the symptoms of
various medical conditions. The physicians at our San Antonio fertility have been reviewing studies
about acupuncture and fertility, which suggests that acupuncture can improve IVF success rates
and increase egg production.
The idea behind acupuncture is simple. People experience problems with their physical and
psychological health when the flow of energy in the body is blocked. To unblock the energy and
restore balance, a licensed acupuncturist inserts tiny needles in different points on the body. When
acupuncture is performed for fertility, the acupuncturist targets points that help the reproductive
system and stress.
Our fertility specialists realize that most of our patients are not eager to be stuck with more
needles; however, acupuncture needles are different than those used to give injections of fertility
medications. The disposable needles used in Chinese medicine are very small, and most people
report experiencing little to no pain with acupuncture. There are also minimal side effects.

this interest he started off making beats and rapping over a few of them, uploading these to his
old Soundcloud account. But, due to his insecurities, he ended up deleting most of his old work.
His main source of income at the time was from his work as a janitor, while his side job was as a
guitarist for a small time band. His time as a janitor was completely miserable. On top of that, he
never truly enjoyed being a guitarist, as he felt that his band mates weren t inspired to achieve
anything greater than making music solely as a hobby. Therefore, he decided to make a new

time, he saw that his tracks on Soundcloud were beginning to

King Arthur The Knights Of Camelot
In modern times, no film can be produced without being scrutinized by a number of paid movie
critics who are chosen to tell the public what movies implement factors that constitute it as an
acceptable film to watch. In Ancient Greece, this idea of a movie critic was nonexistent, due to the
fact that the closest form of entertainment that they possessed were plays. However, Greek
philosopher Aristotle was, among countless other professions, the first individual to become the
ancient version of modern day movie critics. Aristotle developed six main elements of a tragedy
play. These six elements include plot, character, diction, thought, spectacle or scenic effect, and
song or music. One theatrical phenomenon released in 1975 which... Show more content on

The Knights of the Round Table. One obstacle that King Arthur faces is his meeting with the Black
Knight. Arthur comes upon a sword fight between a green and black knight. The black knight
triumphs and Arthur asks him to join his court at Camelot. The black knight refuses to answer.
Arthur, disappointed, tries to pass, but the black knight won t let him. Arthur, whose authority fails
him once again, fights the black knight, severing his left arm. The black knight, however, is
unfazed and continues to fight until all of his limbs have been lopped off at which point he calls it
a draw. Arthur and Patsy move on before he can try to bite their legs off (Shmoop Editorial Team).
Soon after defeating the Black Knight, King Arthur finishes his quest of assembling the knights.
However, soon after the completion of this quest, the knights are called upon by God to initiate the
quest for the Holy Grail. They then face obstacles such as a killer bunny and a bridgekeeper
guarding the Bridge of Death. When the knights arrive at the Bridge of Death, the bridgekeeper
proves the hardest obstacle thus far, excluding only possibly the killer bunny. This is due to the
questions asked by the bridgekeeper. Stop. Who would cross

Executive Summary
An effective records management program is an integral part of an organization s effective business
operations. Organizations must consider records management requirements when implementing the
system management strategies or whenever they design and augment an electronic information
system. Organizations are required by law to make and preserve records containing adequate and
proper documentation of the organization, functions, policies, decisions, procedures, and essential
transactions of the organization. This legal requirement applies to electronic records kept by the
organizations as well. Organizations that do not consistently ... Show more content on

The most important steps in all this are the definition, development, and refinement of the data
model, which mostly involves treatment of the records being created or managed (Stephens, 2007).
Information systems are developed according to system development methodologies, including
those that organizations use to implement the electronic signature as required by the statutory
bodies; which govern production and augmentation of existing records. The records life cycle
usually exceeds the system development life cycle. When it does the organization involved needs to
retain the particular record for a period of time longer than the life of the electronic information
system that generated the electronic signature. However, this presents special challenges, such as
maintaining the integrity of record in case of system migration.
Background
Characteristics of Trustworthy Organizational Records
Reliability, authenticity, integrity, and usability are the features used to describe trustworthy
records from a records management perspective. An organization needs to consider these features
when laying implementation plans for ERM programs; such that it can meet its internal business
and legal needs, as well as external regulations (Boiko, 2002). The degree of effort that an
organization puts into ensuring that these characteristics are attained depends on

Essay on Jewish History
Jewish History
Throughout the history of the world, the Jewish people have been persecuted and oppressed
because of their religious beliefs and faith. Many groups of people have made Jews their
scapegoat. Jews have suffered from years of intolerance because people have not understood what
the religion really means. They do not understand where and why the religion began, nor the
customs of it s people. For one to understand the great hardships, triumphs, and history of the
Jewish people one must open mindedly peruse a greater knowledge of the Jewish people and faith.

The prophets Ezekiel and Deutero Isaiah believed that Yahweh had used the Babylonian Empire
to punish the Israelites for their sins, and he therefore had the power to redeem them from
captivity if they repented. The Babylonian exiles messianic hope for a restored Judean kingdom
under the leadership of a scion of the royal house of David seemed to have been justified when
Cyrus the Great, after conquering Babylon in 539 BC, permitted a repatriation of subject
populations and a restoration of local temples. The restored Judean commonwealth did not fully
realize this hope, however, because the Persians did not allow the reestablishment of a Judean
monarchy, but only a temple state with the high priest as its chief administrator. A truly
monotheistic religion developed as the God of Israel came to be seen as the God ruling universal
history and the destiny of all nations (Rich 2). As for a common thread throughout Judaism, the
area of focus is the place associated with the religion, Jerusalem, a place to call home. No other
religion has ever been so attached to its birthplace as Judaism. Perhaps this is because Jews have
been exiled and restricted from this place for most of their history. Jerusalem is not only home to
Judaism, but to the Muslim and Christian religions, as well. Historically, this has made it quite

Digital Communication And Electronic Data

important IT practice to insure against loss of data. The main reason for backup of e mails is
restore emails whenever required. There have been a lot of cases in the past where emails have
been deleted accidently or intentionally which has created problems in day to day working.
Deletion of emails have hindered court cases and delayed judgement in the past. Cases like
Zubulake v. UBS Warburg have been decided by adverse inference which is nothing but failure
of defendant to provide proof to defend themselves. The Policy presents a mandate for
Universities and colleges in a state to contract a licensed third party who is not bias to archive
all the emails. Unbiased Email archiving is important as more and more lawsuit are being filed
and the defendants are unable to submit any emails to prove themselves innocent. Some of the
cases are Zubulake v. UBS Warburg. [1], and FiTeq Inc. v. Venture Corp. [2] Siani v. State

Unfortunately, the United States space program suffered a major setback following the tragic
failure during testing on January 27, 1967. This failure proved fatal when three astronauts were
killed during a fire in a command module on the ground. These first casualties of the space
program shocked the American public. The testing failure was blamed on NASA by both Congress
and the media. The widely presented cause was inadequate engineering and the public believed that
NASA was emphasizing being first to the moonover the safety of the program. Nevertheless, the

The public attention of Americans was captivated by the Space Race from its beginning with the
launch of Soviet Sputnik in 1957 until the landing of Apollo 11 in 1969. This attention was captured
using a relatively new medium of media: television. Through their representation in national
televised media, astronauts became the ultimate American heroes. Additionally, through the
depiction of the national media, Soviets were pictured as the ultimate villains, with their failed
efforts to surpass the United States advancements and to prove the Communist system ( The

Following the launch of Sputnik, the United States responded by building a foundation for its own

Examples Of Restorative Justice
iv.Restorative Justice Application in Cases of Domestic Violence
Restorative justice (RJ), which finds its roots in African customary law practices, is one of the
most significant developments in criminal justice practice to materialise over the past two decades.
Our criminal justice system focuses primarily on legally defining a crime with an emphasis on
responsibility and accountability of the individual who may be found to have offended at the end
of a procedurally fair trial. RJ approaches involve the victim, offender and the community in a
process which aims to develop the appropriate response to the harm caused. The umbrella term of
restorative justice conferencing includes a range of different processes: victim offender mediation
/conferencing, family group conferencing, victim intervention/empowerment programmes,
sentencing circles and peace making circles. For reasons outlined later, RJ strategies in response to
domestic violence have been met with widespread objection and small pockets of support. ... Show

Furthermore, the RJ approach is often viewed as a soft response as the offender is not punished. As
such, choosing familial and community forms of involvement might result in the reprivatisation of
domestic violence, which in effect leads to the silencing of women. Taking domestic violence out of
the view of the courtroom could in turn counteract the progress made by the law in combination
with feminist activism to bring domestic violence into the open arena. It goes without saying that
RJ under theorises criminal offending and is concerned with the issue of re offending, rather than
with the offence itself. Domestic violence calls for a powerful response which should combine
elements of condemnation as well as

Feminine Sexuality in The Storm
Kate Chopin s short story The Storm ; describes an encounter of infidelity between two lovers
during a brief thunderstorm. The story alludes to the controversial topic of women s sexuality and
passion, which during Chopin s time no one spoke about much less wrote about. So controversial
was The Storm, ; that it was not published until after her death in eighteen ninety nine. The story is
broken up into five sections, each filled with small clues and hints that reflect her message. In short,
Kate Chopins The Storm ; is about a confirmation of feminine sexuality and passion and a rejection
of the suppression of it by society.

Her sexuality has been repressed by the constraints of her marriage and society s view of
women, represented by the housework being done before the storm hits. Chopin alludes to this
theme of suppression again as Alcee is invited into Calixta s home. The author writes, Come long
in, M sieur Alcee. His voice and her own startled her as if from a trance, and she seized Bobinot s
vest. Alcee, mounting to the porch, grabbed the trousers and snatched Bibi s braided jacket that
was about to be carried away by a sudden gust of wind. ; Alcee grabs Bobinot s pants, symbolically
subverting the social and martial constraints that control Calixta.
Chopin presents many details of Calixta s affirmation of her sexuality and passion. As the storm s
intensity increases, it becomes necessary to put something underneath the door to keep the rain
out. My! what a rain! It s good two years sence it rained it rain like that, exclaimed Calixta as she
rolled up a piece of bagging and Alcee helped her to thrust it beneath the crack. ; The sexual
connotation of thrusting it beneath the crack ; is evident, but it is important to notice that Calixta
initiates this sexual act, not Alcee. This is a far cry from an ordinary, repressed housewife. Quite
the contrary, Chopin actually

Causes Of Csare Lombroso
Nowadays it is common to hear expressions like beware of that man, he has the face of a thief ;
These young people are suspicious, their appearance is deplorable, or because of that scar he
has, I would say he is a criminal. It is also often observed that certain types of people are still
rejected, isolated or labeled by society, due to their physical characteristics, because they have
congenital malformations, or they have been acquired during the course of their existence. It is not
good to judge by appearances, but there are people who at first sight seem dangerous to us. In the
nineteenth century, the scientist Cesare Lombrosodeveloped a theory that defines potential criminals
by some of their physical features.
Cesare Lombroso, a criminologist and Italian physicians, he was one of the forerunners of modern
criminology in that he may be born predisposed to be a criminal for biological causes. His legacy
is still present, although his studies and publications caused and continue to cause considerable
controversy. This Italian, who during his career published twenty five books that combine
biological science with criminology, was one of the most important exponents of criminological
positivism. It is a current that, instead of exposing sanctions for a certain act, is done for a
delinquent studying its characteristics, crime and manner of committing it in order to then seek a
legal punishment that adjusts to each case. Lombroso believed that human evolution and the

Descriptive Essay On Having A Dog
Dogs become vital to you, they are something you wouldn t ever give up. My dog, Carly has

kind, positive, selfless human being. Yes, having a dog may be challenging, stressful work, but in
the end, it s all worth it. Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted a dog. When I was about
three, my cousins unexpectedly lost their chocolate lab, Bailey. I don t remember Bailey, but I do
remember when they brought home a yellow lab puppynamed Tess. The moment I laid eyes on
Tess, it sparked something inside me and from that point on, I had a desire to one day have my
own dog. I included a dog on my Christmas and birthday lists for five years, but every year I was
left with disappointment. Nevertheless, my parents were warming up to the idea of having a
dog, evaluating different breeds to try and find a fit for our family. Eventually, my parents took us
to look at dogs, but none of them seemed to suit our needs. It was late afternoon on an enjoyable,
mild June day at the baseball field. As we commenced our journey home I realized we were headed
in the wrong direction.
Where are we going? I asked, looking at my parents in confusion.
We are going to look at some puppies, Mom explained excitedly.

Reforming the NSA to Restore U.S. Credibility
Introduction On June 6, 2013, The Guardian published a story about the National Security Agency
s (NSA) secret Internet surveillance program, PRISM (Greenwald and MacAskill 2013). The
story was based on documents leaked by one of the most successful whistle blowers in American
history, former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. The documents that Snowden has released up to
this time have shown the NSA to be heavily engaged in the collection of personal Internet activity,
bulk collection of telephone metadata, and other forms of surveillance that have brought U.S.
intelligence practices into question. Claiming its actions are related to the War on Terror, the NSA
has insisted that these programs are legal, have not been abused, and are vital to preventing terror
attacks. The leaked programs have not only created domestic furor, but also put U.S. diplomatic
relations with its allies in jeopardy. With the overthrow of the Ukrainian government creating
tension between the U.S. and Russia, Snowden s asylum in Russia is a political and diplomatic
blow to U.S. prestige and moral authority. And with the threat of further Snowden leaks looming,
future U.S. intelligence operations may hinge on the willingness of Washington to alter its policies.
Benefits of the Programs The potential benefits of the NSA s surveillance programs have been
described by the Obama administration as vital to the War on Terror. The two programs that have
received the most attention are the collection

Reflection Of College Writing
Over the course of this past semester, my ability to write has improved tremendously. Prior to
undertaking this course, my expertise in writing was not as fine tuned as it should have been. I
had never previously been enrolled in a class specifically tailored to writing which was quite clear.
Upon reading my past works, it becomes apparent that my writing style consisted of fluff, small
words, and inconsistently structured sentences. These problems have, for the most part, been
remedied with the coursework I have tackled in College Writing. Rather than long, drawn out
papers that take an eternity to reach the primary point, my recent work is much nicer in terms of
composition and grammar. I credit these improvements to the three primary... Show more content on

Previously in the year, it was typical for me just write what is on my mind at the time and later
go back and organize it. This paper is a stupendous presentation of that obsolete format. It was
common for me to leap from one paragraph to another without soundly blending my ideas into
the narrative. Despite this, however, many outstanding developments appeared in this essay.
This was the essay that helped me further develop my ability to write sensory details, which
immediately shows itself in the introduction: Lights blare down from above. To my left, I can
see the crowd cheering as the previous band charges off the field, and we prepare our grand
entrance ( 1). I also highlighted the negative aspects of the band, such as leadership problems:
Aside from inexperienced and uncaring managers, some people are just wholly opposed to
taking orders from their peers. This causes an avalanche of tension between them and their
section. Arguments will typically break out as to who is right and who is wrong especially
during marching season ( 3). Each paragraph, despite flowing strangely, outlined a specific aspect
of the band in increasingly detailed methods. One section describes the methods band members
use to communicate with one another while another tells of its hierarchy. Overall, this paper,
despite its shortcomings, laid the base for which I would later improve upon in following essays.
The second essay was a different beast to tackle. Our literacy narrative was

When speaking about the third generation falcon based ranchero, you couldn t get a factory

Native American Transcultural Analysis
Transcultural Analysis of Native Americans and End of Life The profession of nursing is more
than caring for the physiological health of an individual. It also includes caring for their spiritual,

Native American cultural considerations relating to end of life using the Giger and Davidhizar

courage, intelligence, determination, and selfishness during her fight through slavery. This
abolitionist was known for her job as the official conductor for the Underground Railroad, and her
services for the Union army during the Civil War (HISTORY online). All her contributions lead to
self liberations and belief that everyone deserves equal opportunity regardless to race or sex.

As a result, her masters decided to sell her, but could not find another family with which to
dispose of her. Tubman did not want to be removed from her parents and siblings, and made it
her goal to escape with them. Although her brothers decided to back out last minute during the
first attempt of the escape, Tubman still managed to make her way to the slavery free state of
Pennsylvania via the Underground Railroad (Civil War Trust). For a short amount of time, she
stayed in Philadelphia and worked unusual jobs to support herself. After she heard that her
family relatives were soon to be sold, she headed back to Maryland to save them (Civil War
Trust). Tubman was determined to bring her family and others back up North, and lead them to
freedom. In the span of almost twenty trips, she was able to guide back over 300 fugitive slaves
up North towards Canada via the Underground Railroad. This courageous act has earned Tubman
the title as the most famous conductor of the Underground Railroad. By her extraordinary
courage, ingenuity, persistence, and iron discipline, she was known as the Moses of her people
because she had never lost a slave in the process (Britannica Online). Tubman did as much as she
could to aid those escaping slavery. Tubman wasn t only courageous, but intelligent as well during
her her quest to help slaves escape the South. She used several strategies in order to make her

The Inherent Ethical Dilemma Of A Company
The inherent ethical dilemma that presents itself in this case is whether or not it is ethical to cut
corners to make a profit. The management is aware of the issue, yet continues to allow the
defective drives to be sold in order to attempt to appease the company s new CEO. Is it ethical for a
company to sell a defective product in order to avoid loss?
The obvious IT component that lends itself to the circumstances of this case takes the form of the
defective Hard Drives. However, there are many other possible IT components playing a role in the
background. Such components would include an inventory management system and a defect
management system, alongside App and Database servers respectively to allow these systems to
function properly. Other IT components at work may include a CRM system for ensuring
customer satisfaction, a POS system, possibly including hardware such as scanners for sales and
returns. Desktops and laptops may also be in use by employees of the company, as well as an
Intranet and Extranet to share and access information on those machines.
One critical stakeholder in the case is the CEO of PrimeDrive, Mr. Stokes. An important right for
him as the head of the company is the right to use his business to generate a profit and run the
business as he sees fit. Another stakeholder are the managers of PrimeDrive, who have the right to
manage their departments as they envisioned. The consumers are also a critical stakeholder who
have the right to receive

Real World Assignment Analysis
A reflection, by any definition, requires the subject to gaze upon themselves. This course has
required me to look within myself as I transition from the general education classroom to a district
wide, technology leadership role. The reflection process has been timely as I have reached the
halfway point of my first year as the Instructional Technology Specialist in my district. The
coursework has been helpful as I have considered my own strengths and weaknesses. Moving
forward, I intend to use the lessons from this experience to strengthen myself for the expressed
purpose of improving the learningexperiences of those with whom I encounter. The assignments
given were both relevant and challenging. The Real World Assignment was a great... Show more

The emphasis on varied synchronous and asynchronous approaches to technology integration was
enriching for me. My vocabulary was enhanced during the readings and videos related to the topic.
Using the two categories in practical settings forced me to grapple with the strengths and challenges
resonate within each approach. My schema was altered regarding the potential of existing
synchronous tools. The nuts and bolts factors of bandwidth, computing devices and individual
schedules helped me learn the value which must be present to warrant synchronous, online
activities. Meanwhile, the importance of deadlines within asynchronous settings must be balanced
with basic human sensitivity toward the busyness of life. My own struggle with being prompt was
met with great understanding and compassion by Ms. McCormick. This reinforced my own
determination to extend similar grace to those whom I am given oversight. The fourth AECT
Standard dealing with management was my greatest connection here. Thank you Ms. McCormick

What Is Chipotle s Competitive Advantage
Chipotle s competitive advantage is they are the only restaurant that is environmentally conscious.
They have tried to reduce their carbon footprint on the earth atmosphere by focusing on a
program called Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) which uses solar energy
for electricity to reduce the energy consumption during peak hours. They only deal with the
freshest, most natural, and organic ingredients. They work with local farmers to give their
customers the best taste of fast casual dining. Also, Chipotle have started a program that allows
them to increase local sourcing to 35% by using produce that is grown 350 miles from their
restaurants. This program allows Chipotle to use seasonal produce through a network of 25 local
farms that reduce the use of fossil fuel and boost the local farmers revenue.
Another reason being environmental friendly is Chipotle s competitive advantage is co CEO
Steven Ells understood the damage that concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFO) caused to
the environment. When Ells visited several CAFOs, he seen that these structures had a negative
impact on water and air quality which, is regulated by the EPA. He also noticed that many CAFOs
had water treatment plants to control the manure which also affected the environment. That is ...

Effective Communication As An Effective Leader
Communication is critical to the success of any business especially in the field of law enforcement.
As a leader, it is essential to convey operational objectives with clarity and purpose. The challenge is
to communicate in a manner that is effective in meaning and direct in intentions. Time must be
invested along with understanding, communication and the essentialelement of listening to work
towards progression, (Smith, 2011). Through effective communication, a leader can influence
subordinates to follow the vision, therefore leading the organization to future aspirations of success
and longevity. In order to be an effective leader you must be able to relate to others through open
communication, (Bennis, 2009). Effective communication is critical in establishing effective
relationships within an organization, (Kouzes and Posner, 2012). In order to add clarity and
acceptance of our vision a leader needs to communicate the steps in getting there. These steps can
be in the form of short termand long term goals. Goals provide direction in obtaining our vision,
they are also instrumental in the success of an organization, (Lawler, 2003). The vision must
incorporate values that are ethical and for the good of the organization driving towards
commitment and dedication to achieve. Without vision we have no direction, we are limiting our
abilities to grasp the future, (Kouzes and Posner, 2012). Discipline and direction are very important
in creating a vision with clarity.

Coyne Evolution
In the first chapter, Coyne discusses the basic concept outline of evolution, and brings clarity to the
common misconceptions thought and said about how the science works, and the large misuse of
the word theory. The first chapter of this book also defines very carefully each of the main
hypothesis of evolutionary theory. Which stands in dissimilarity to many other treatments of
evolution, which all have a propensity to confuse some readers by integrating different meanings
of the word. Coyne also divides Darwinism into six components. They are: evolution which means
change over time, gradualism which is a policy of slower change rather than sudden change or a
revolution, speciation which is the evolutionary process where a new biological species... Show

overpowering evidence that evolution occurred, much like Darwin did many years ago. Just like
that, Coyne s book is a brilliantly stable approach that is moderately persuasive without being
argumentative, and does work well for those people who are sitting on the fence about the fact of

Stigmata And Religion
Today we will be breaking down the religious aspects in the 1999 supernatural horror film
Stigmata. It is one of my favorite movies because of the allure and how it tried to give a different
take on religion. It was one of the first of its kind to explore the concept of Stigmata and in a
different light that was seen highly offensive to Catholics which is where the concept of Stigmata
comes from, which is the Roman Church. To some Catholics stigmata is a sign of holiness, so in
theory, there is no reason for an atheist to bare the marks of Jesus. While the movie was amazing to
someone like me because I am a secular humanist and just enjoyed the movie for it being a movie,
stigmata lacks a lot of true connection to how stigmata actually works in terms of how Catholics
view it.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lord Of The Flies Reflection Essay
Behavior is the mirror in which everyone shows their image. This insightful quote, written by
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, relates to the story of The Lord of the Flies greatly. A person s
true color shines through when put in a place of freedom. The story, by William Golding, is
about a group of boys stranded on an island during the war. They fight to survive and their morals
change a lot in the process; both physically and mentally. The ways their appearances change was
parallel to the ways their behaviors change, including their filth and metaphorical filth, their
painted faces and sense of community, and their ways of dress compared to their rebellious
actions. The way the filth grew on the boys was parallel to the way their behaviors increased in
filth . As time went on, the filth slowly built up on their skin and in their hair They were slowly
covered in grease and dirt. Their behaviors grew in a similar manner; the boys soon grew to
make poor decisions and act very aggressively. The newly found filth and behavior was accepted
among the group as their time on the island increased. Their filth was a normal part of their lives
and everyone was okay with it. Ralph was running from the other boys and hiding in the woods,
His hair was full of dirt and tapped like the tendrils of a creeper (Golding 235). He could not get
the same amount of cleanliness while he was out in the woods. Their behaviors changed and they
began to accept the killings for food and other

Sparta s Participation In Political Life In Athens
Athens
In order to achieve the right to participate in political life in Athens it was necessary to be male, be
at least 18 years old, not be a slave and have Athenian parents. According to Rothchild these
requirements limited participation to perhaps 10 20 percent of the population .
The citizens with political rights could gather at the Assembly to discuss national matters and make
decisions by voting. The Assembly was responsible for taking most of the decisions that affected
the city state and its citizens. It was also a place to hold meetings and discussions about national
matters, and any citizens had the right to discuss the subjects. The Assembly had rules and
regulations like for how long citizens could speak, what subjects should ... Show more content on

In Athens women were considered goods from their husbands or fathers. They had no rights and
received little or no formal education. Meanwhile Spartan women were active members of society,
received education and even served in the government. They were also expected to manage their
husbands properties while they are fighting some war and they had the right to buy properties.

Mormonism Research Paper
With 14 million followers, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is a very interesting
religion for many different reasons. Mormons, as they are commonly known, have an interesting
origin, different traditions, and a fascinating founder. Mormonism is the term used for describing
the practice and beliefs of followers of The Church of JesusChrist of Latter day Saints. The core
belief is that a prophet named Joseph Smith restored doctrines of the church to earth. Smith
became the founder of what is now considered The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints
and widely followed. One of the ideas most central to the Mormons is their love for Jesus Christ,
the savior. That idea is stated very well when Joseph Smith said, The fundamental... Show more

Smith claims that he had begun recieveing messages at age 14. Smith received messages from
Jesus Christ, God, and other messengers such as angels. A few years later, at age 17, the angel,
Moroni, visited Smith. Moroni was the one who told him about the mysterious Golden plates
that told the story of the Israelites who left Jerusalem in 600 BC and came to North America
once they received a calling from god. The plates also said that the Israelites set up civilizations
here in America and viewed an appearance by Jesus after his crucifixion and later resurrection.
This angel Moroni had the name that gave inspiration for the title, The Book of Mormon. Martin
Harris helped Smith in the writing of The Book of Mormon . Smith told Harris to write down
words that Smith was translating from the plates through the use of seer stones that Moroni told
him about. Martin Harris finished the writing and brought it home to his wife who did not
believe the story. The partially written book was lost and Smith claimed that he was punished for
the loss of it. The angel came and took the plates and Smiths ability to translate. Months later, the
angel returned the plates to him and he resumed the translation and dictation in April 1829 with
Oliver Cowdery as his new scribe. At one point, the story required baptism and Smith and
Cowdery baptized each other in order to complete the book, which they did in July of 1829. On

6.03 Synthesis Lab Report
This lab could have contained errors. The errors could have happened when performing the lab.
Some of the possible errors in this lab are:
There might have been some mistakes made while transferring the ingredients from the beaker and
the funnel to the flask and the burret.
The antacid tablets were not crushed properly, resulting in big crumbs of the tablet which will
affect the dissolving process of the lab.
There might have been more KOH solution added to the flask resulting in the observations to be
wrong.
The mixture might have contained more or less than 5 drops of bromophenol blue, which might
have resulted in the indication of the lab.
Not enough attention paid when the solution was changing colours.
The buret might have been leaky resulting in more KOH dropped in the erlenmeyer flask.
Conclusion: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The lab checked for neutralization and check if it did not neutralize too much or too little. There
were two commonly sold brands examined in this lab which were the Tums and Rolaids. The
crushed tablets were dissolved in 0.10 M HCl with a pH indicator bromophenol blue and a
solution of KOH was added to it in order to neutralize the solution. The solution turned light blue
when it was neutralized. Both the tablets were neutralized and titrated in the same way. From the
observations above; Rolaids was better because it had better neutralizing ability per each dollar
spent than the Tums. As the Rolaids were 4.07g/$ and the Tums were 4.01g/$ as seen from the
observations above. So, the better buy is the Rolaids out of the two as the neutralization ability per
dollar spent in the Rolaids is better than the

The main idea of this to Ben is that he doesn t like tyranny, which is power or control of one person. He didn t like to be told what to do to and he also liked some control and therefore, have a limited government. Ben didn t want any dictatorship either, which meant no kings or queens. The fifth virtue Ben Franklin put on the list of America s virtues was Idealism in Foreign Policy . Franklin once wrote, The influence of every power is measured by the opinion one has of its intrinsic force. When he went to Paris as an envoy during the Revolution, Franklin proved himself a master of the diplomatic doctrine of realism by playing an adroit balance of power game between France, Spain, the Netherlands, and later on, Britain. The main idea of this virtue, as I see it, is that Franklin basically tried to portray each country s position as desirable to him. In a way, this virtue still exists in America today. The only thing I can think of for this virtue in today s world is Iraq. Even though it isn t ideal to be at war with a country, we do our best to fight against them and eventually hopefully end the war and win it. The sixth virtue Ben Franklin wanted was Compromise . Franklin used the phrase, Both sides must part with some of their demands, many times. He used it the most when the Constitutional Convention was deciding on the issue of whether the new Congress should be proportioned by population or have equal votes for each state. For Franklin, who personally believed in proportional representation, compromise was not only a practical approach but also a moral one. He believed that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fundamental bass is what is known as the root of chords today. Bach recognized that there were more chords than Rameau having only one root but having several qualities. Lester says that Rameau s ideas are regarded as an important predecessor to music theory but is criticized about his idea that chords had two different roots (157). According to Mitchell, William J., Bach recognized twenty chords some of which are variations of chords including subtypes and chromatic alterations. Technology and Children Human beings are social beings by nature; right from birth, humans experience this socialization and this socialization is the core of being human. Gawande (2009) once wrote: Human beings are social creatures. We are social not just in the trivial sense that we like company, and not just in the obvious sense that we each depend on others. We are social in a more elemental way: simply to exist as a normal human being requires interaction with other people. The need to physically interact with other fellow human beings especially as children roots its essence in the fact that through these interactions children learn a lot about other human beings. It is through such interactions that children learn how to be responsive and how to relate to others. Human beings come into the world programmed to respond and relate to others. Even infants turn in response to the sound of a human voice. These interactions are very important in helping children develop emotionally and socially. These interactions provide a training ground for children to try out different ways of relating to others. Through interacting with fellow children and /or humans, children learn the give and take of social behavior in general. They learn how to set up rules, how to weigh alternatives and make decisions when faced with dilemmas. Scott Fitzgerald To many of us writing can be a daunting task, and often more complicated than it should be, but, as stated by famed American author Ernest Hemingway, There is nothing to writing, All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed . The fact of the matter is, eventually blood clots, and scabs form. It s the same in writing; many authors bleed onto a page and use their metaphorical blood as ink, thus placing a piece of themselves into their work. But, no matter how great the author, eventually writer block ensues, casting a writer into a literary funk and halting the flow of thematic ideas; however, themes such as love and wealth transcend time, culture, and language. So it s not difficult to think that famed authors, when in a pinch, often recycle broad themes to create a more compelling and relatable story. In the American work, The Great Gatsbyby F. Scott Fitzgeraldand its cinematic counterpart, directed by Baz Lutherman, themes such as wealth, love, isolation, and dissatisfaction are used to create a novel that still holds parallels to the world of today. The theme of wealth is prevalent in the works of the The Great Gatsby. The wealthy are portrayed as educated businessmen who have found a prosperous niche, often illegally. Persons with enough money are held in higher esteem than their middle class compatriots. In Gatsby s world money buys social acceptance, and it also grants living in the world without repercussions. As far as my understanding, backbone of any professional field consists of two important parts, the academic part; knowledge and practical aspect, and the research part. The academic part helps the professionals to apply the knowledge in the practical life, but the research part is the one that provides all the knowledge and does mostly all the behind the scene work. That is why it would be preferred for every student in their respective discipline to participate and explore research in their respective field. This is the reason as to why I want to participate in the research field relating to my Medicinecareer. Research is very useful because it helps in expanding previous knowledge and adding new knowledge for any particular discipline. Not only that, research helps students to get the better understanding of what they are studying in classes and lectures. It provides student the background knowledge of the stuff they learn in a classroom. • 34. Reflection Of College Writing Over the course of this past semester, my ability to write has improved tremendously. Prior to undertaking this course, my expertise in writing was not as fine tuned as it should have been. I had never previously been enrolled in a class specifically tailored to writing which was quite clear. Upon reading my past works, it becomes apparent that my writing style consisted of fluff, small words, and inconsistently structured sentences. These problems have, for the most part, been remedied with the coursework I have tackled in College Writing. Rather than long, drawn out papers that take an eternity to reach the primary point, my recent work is much nicer in terms of composition and grammar. I credit these improvements to the three primary... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Previously in the year, it was typical for me just write what is on my mind at the time and later go back and organize it. This paper is a stupendous presentation of that obsolete format. It was common for me to leap from one paragraph to another without soundly blending my ideas into the narrative. Despite this, however, many outstanding developments appeared in this essay. This was the essay that helped me further develop my ability to write sensory details, which immediately shows itself in the introduction: Lights blare down from above. To my left, I can see the crowd cheering as the previous band charges off the field, and we prepare our grand entrance ( 1). I also highlighted the negative aspects of the band, such as leadership problems: Aside from inexperienced and uncaring managers, some people are just wholly opposed to taking orders from their peers. This causes an avalanche of tension between them and their section. Arguments will typically break out as to who is right and who is wrong especially during marching season ( 3). Each paragraph, despite flowing strangely, outlined a specific aspect of the band in increasingly detailed methods. One section describes the methods band members use to communicate with one another while another tells of its hierarchy. Overall, this paper, despite its shortcomings, laid the base for which I would later improve upon in following essays. The second essay was a different beast to tackle. Our literacy narrative was ... As a leader, it is essential to convey operational objectives with clarity and purpose. The challenge is to communicate in a manner that is effective in meaning and direct in intentions. Time must be invested along with understanding, communication and the essentialelement of listening to work towards progression, (Smith, 2011). Through effective communication, a leader can influence subordinates to follow the vision, therefore leading the organization to future aspirations of success and longevity. In order to be an effective leader you must be able to relate to others through open communication, (Bennis, 2009). Effective communication is critical in establishing effective relationships within an organization, (Kouzes and Posner, 2012). In order to add clarity and acceptance of our vision a leader needs to communicate the steps in getting there. These steps can be in the form of short termand long term goals. Goals provide direction in obtaining our vision, they are also instrumental in the success of an organization, (Lawler, 2003). The vision must incorporate values that are ethical and for the good of the organization driving towards commitment and dedication to achieve. To some Catholics stigmata is a sign of holiness, so in theory, there is no reason for an atheist to bare the marks of Jesus. This insightful quote, written by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, relates to the story of The Lord of the Flies greatly. A person s true color shines through when put in a place of freedom. The newly found filth and behavior was accepted among the group as their time on the island increased. Their filth was a normal part of their lives and everyone was okay with it.
