How Did John Wilks Booth React To Lincoln s Assassination
I will be the first man to ever kill a president. ~ John Wilks Booth. 150 years ago the 16th president of
the United States of America was assassinated. There had been many threats against Lincoln during
his presidency, but at the end of the day John Wilks Booth was the one who was successful. (O Reilly

There was many people who came into play with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. John Wilks
Booth was Abraham Lincoln s actual assassin. There was many people who helped John Wilks booth

Conflict Within Events And Leisure Organisations Essay
Conflict can be defined in various ways and has no single clear meaning. A broad definition of conflict
is a serious disagreement or argument that generally continues for a long period of time, however
according to Huczynski and Buchanan (2010) no conflict exists if two or more parties are not aware of
any conflict. In terms of conflict within events and leisure organisations, De Dre and Beersma (2005)
say that conflict is best viewed as a process that begins when an individual or group perceives
differences and opposition between him/herself and another individual or group about interests,
believes or values that better to him or her. Within organisations, the management of conflict greatly
depends on the personality and characteristic of individual managers.
It is not possible for all human begins to live in peace and harmony all the time (Martin, 2005, p.750),
therefore conflict within the workplace is inevitable and can arise within events and leisure
organisations for many reasons. Personal factors are the main factor contributing to conflict.
Differences in values and beliefs can often create conflict, as individuals will have alterations about
the underlying purpose of an organisation, and how each other should act toward one another and
customers. Unique personalities can also create conflict as it can result in people struggling to get
along with one another, and therefore a personality clash will occur (Rollinson, 2008, p.418). Another

Future Megacity Operations Summary
In his article, Future Megacity Operations Lessons from Sadr City Major Christopher O. Bowers
argues that future conflicts will meet the challenges of megacities. The purpose of the article is to
show that present lessons from Sadr City can be scaled up and used by U.S. commanders to solve
upcoming challenges in a future conflict in a megacity. The article was published in Military Review
May June 2005. Major Bowers served in Sadr City, Iraq, from 2005 to 2006. In the first part of the

There Are Different Levels Of Fame
There are different levels of fame:
Total Fame. Here you are famous on a wide scale and your name is on the world platform. Most
people aspire for total fame but only the most talented and most lucky people achieve it. You need to
know the theory behind what makes people achieve total fame.
National Fame. Here you are famous in your country. You can achieve national fame if you are doing
something that specifically interests the people in your country. From here you can climb to total
fame. Some people are happy with this level of fame; it s simply down to your personal preference.
Local Fame. Here you are famous in your local region. You can achieve local fame if you are doing
something that specifically interests the people in your region. From here you can climb to national
fame.
Online Fame. Here you are famous through the internet. Obtaining fame through the internet is
probably the easiest way to become famous! With the internet you can get in front of people anywhere
across the world. Website such as Youtube allows you to broadcast yourself with ease, and display
your talent to your fans. Once you have achieved an online fame, you will want to use that fame to get
yourself known through other avenues.
If you want to truly be famous, you need to use one level of fame as a stepping stone to the next. Keep
going until you have reached your required level of fame.
CONCLUSION
To make your vision and talent a reality, you need three different levels of connection to

Mistaken Eyewitness Testimony
An eyewitness testimony is a proceeding whereby the witness of a crime will stand in court and recall
the events which they perceived and is involved in the identification of the perpetrator (Laney Loftus,
n.d.). Eyewitnesses testimonies have become a staple for many legal proceedings and is often taken as
hard evidence for a crime which someone has committed. However, there has been a staggering
number of innocent people who have been convicted of a crime based on eyewitness testimonies. This
is what led to the creation of the Innocence Project whose mission is to use DNA evidence to free
wrongly convicted individuals ( About Innocence Project, n.d.). This essay will explore some of the
reasons behind mistaken eyewitness testimonies, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, factors such as interactions with other witnesses and the influence of media outlets cannot
be accounted for. In addition, the small sample size of 13 participants means the results are not as
reliable and cannot be generalised to the population at large. One possible factor which may influence
the results is that witnesses were within close proximity to the events which transpired which can
influence memory as well as not being applicable to many crimes whereby the witnesses only see part
of the crime or a shadow of the perpetrator. An alternative explanation would be that flashbulb
memory was at work here.
A flashbulb memory is a detailed snapshot of an event which evoked feelings of shock or surprise or
were otherwise emotionally arousing (Brown and Kulik, 1977). Events which have negative emotions
attached to them seem to be processed in a detail attentive and conservative manner (Bless et al.,
1996; Storbeck Clore, 2005; Bohn and Bernsten, 2007). The age of a witness also seems to influence
the formation of flashbulb memories. In a study by Cohen, Conway and Maylor (1993) most of the
younger participants experienced flashbulb memory compared to less than half the older participants.
They concluded that the main factor which influenced the formation of flashbulb memories for older
participants was rehearsal of the events whereas in younger

Yeh Hesien Cinderella Quotes
Over the years many versions of Cinderella have been written, each one is unique to itself but they
share just enough characteristics with the original tale that they can still be called a Cinderella story.
More specifically in this essay I am going to analyze the role of the stepmom and how she is shown as
cruel towards her stepchild and her motivations to do so. The first story that this is evident in is Yeh
Hsien. In this story a man married a women and had a daughter named Yeh Hsien. Then his wife
passed away and he remarried to another woman. Then they lived happily for a few years, but the man
too passed away, this is when the stepmother begins to mistreat Yeh Hsien. The stepmother makes her

In The Story of the Black Cow the stepmom is married to a Brahmin (Norton 125). Brahmins are
usually people who are people of higher social class. With this comes wealth, and power. Thus by
being married to someone in this position the stepmom becomes wealthy as well. In the story Yeh
Hsien the step mom is married to the cave master (Norton 107). This yet again shows that the man
who has the child is someone who is in a position of power. Thus if the husbands from either story
were to find out of the behavior of their wives towards his child he would divorce them and they

Sickle Cell Paper
Sickle Cell Disease (Anemia) Child and Adolescent Development (PSC 1246A) Sickle Cell Disease,
commonly referred to as Sickle Cell Anemia, is a blood disease which red blood cells form an
abnormal sickle or crescent shape. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body and are normally shaped
like a disc. This disease is genetically inherited from both parents. If you inherit the sickle cell gene
from only one parent, you will have sickle cell trait. People with sickle cell trait do not have the
symptoms of sickle cell anemia. Sickle cell disease is much more common in people of African and
Mediterranean descent. It is also seen in people from South and Central America, the Caribbean, and

People with the sickle cell trait can never get the disease. They don t have any of the symptoms except
anemia which is usually treated with vitamins with extra iron. On a personal note, I have the Sickle
Cell trait. I have been known all my life about the trait and the disease. I inherited the trait from my
mother s side of the family. My father s side does not carry the trait. My mother s family is also from
the West Indies, and my father s family is not. When I married my first husband, (whom I remarried a
few months ago after twenty years), I realized that that he that had the sickle cell trait as well as
myself. We tried and did not have any children. Twenty years later, we have decided to have a child.
With the advancements in science, we discovered that with in vitro fertilization, we can take my eggs
and his sperm and fertilize them and since every one in four has a 25% chance of having the disease,
we will take the one healthy egg and produce a healthy child and discard the three infected with the
genetic trait. It is an expensive, yet healthy choice for our child to live a normal, healthy, happy life
disease free. In conclusion, genetics make us who we are. If not for the different diseases, and other
traits we receive from our parents, and their parents and many generations before,

A Psychodynamic Treatment Approach Essay
Susanna would benefit most from a psychodynamic treatment approach, with a specific emphasis on
clarification, confrontation, and interpretation/transference interpretation. As highlighted by
McWilliams (1999), recurrent themes emerge within the therapy which constitute the client s internal
and external world. With this in mind, Susanna s internal object relations would undoubtedly unfold in
the relationship with the therapist. As Susanna evidences a lack of insight, it will be the therapist s
responsibility to clarify Susanna s experiences for her. In this view, clarification refers to the
reformulation of the patient s verbalizations to convey a more coherent view of what is being
communicated. The therapist may want to clarify what it was like in Susanna s household growing up,
and gather further information on Susanna s romantic relationships. Clarifying sentiments might
include you stated that at times you felt loved by your mother, and hated at other times, but overall do
you feel that your mother loves you? While this technique alone will not lead to therapeutic change, it
will be essential for helping Susanna develop a rapport with the therapist, and establishing a
therapeutic alliance. As borderline pathology is characterized by negative affects, and impulsive,
dangerous behavior, the therapist s ability to keep Susanna in treatment will be essential. The therapist
can do this by presenting him/herself non judgmentally, as well showing Susanna that s/he is

The Controversy Of The 18th Amendment In The United States
Latter Amendments Essay: Amendment 18 Imagine having something dear to you, that you and your

that special thing is Alcohol. The 18th amendment was ratified on January 16th 1919, but it wouldn t

major role in the lifestyle of Americans. The 18th Amendment was repealed by the 21st amendment,
or its affect was no more. This took place in 1933. The 18th Amendment was controversial because
the 18th Amendment both positively, and negatively affected the nation, the amendment came about

A Small Non Profit Healthcare Clinic Essay
Health Insurance Problems In this case, a small non profit healthcare clinic that has been in business
for the last ten years providing voluntary services is currently facing several issues that are affecting
the organization. The clinic started as a comprehensive community effort, with a large group of
healthcare providers as volunteers that were concerned about the health of people with low income in
the that didn t have access to basic health care. This resulted in a new non profit organization with the
founders serving as the board of directors. During the first years when the clinic was getting the
business off the ground, their mission was to serve all comers and not to turn anyone away, regardless
of their financial situation (Buchbinder, p. 441). The clinic has been providing free services for a very
long time; however, the patient volume and the complexity of the organization has increased in the
recent years. The clinic no longer has as many volunteers as they used to have as when they first
started their mission, and the organization has experienced some significant changes that don t allow
them to provide services for free. At this time the original founders of the clinic have stepped down
from their leadership role and decided to hire a new administrator with some experience in
management, to provide the board members with a proposal on how to handle this issue. The board of
directors would like for the new administrator to address three areas of particular

The Fight For The Survival Of The Fatherland
Life was different, you have to understand, the choices I made, they were because I had to, for the
survival of the Nation. People do not seem to understand that, the fight for the survival of the
fatherland, the idea is lost among people nowadays. There was a pressure amongst everyone, inbred in
our bones, the need to fit in, to join the Party, if you refused...you could not refuse. Change became a
constant that was always drastic. You did not make your own decisions anymore, I remember that
even as a young boy, my decisions were all made for me, in the name of the National Socialist Party,
in the name of our Fuhrer. My father made the choices for me when I was young. For that, I blame
what I became on him, for the path he led me down, but my actions, they were my own, forced upon
me like a pawn in a larger game than life, but still my own. My father was a cold man, his love was
for his country and his job. He was the kind of man that looked for an excuse to use his belt, I
remember the thrashing I would receive as a child... I feared him, and for that, he earned my respect.
My father was a large supporter of the Regime, having worked as an officer for several years he rose
quickly through relations with Reinhard Heydrich. I remember many nights when he and father would
drink and smoke cigars in the study. He moved quickly by greasing hands and soon I remember that
we moved from our small house into a much larger one, closer to my father s new office. That is when

Familial Cardiomyopathies ( Fc )
Background: Familial Cardiomyopathies (FC) are a collection of cardiac diseases that vary vastly
genetically, and pathologically (1, 2). Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common form
of FC (2). HCM is diagnosed often with left ventricular hypertrophy without a noticeable increase in
external load and smaller ventricular cavity, but with a preserved ejection fraction (3). That is, the
percent of blood leaving the left ventricle (5) does not change. Other pathologies include interstitial
fibrosis, thickening of the media in intramural arteries, and myocytes disarray greater than 5%; which
is a hallmark of HCM (4). HCM shows variability in its penetrance, from a patient with no symptoms,
to having sudden cardiac death (SCD) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, many patients that do not fit standard diagnostic criteria may in fact have this form of
HCM (8). This low diagnostic sensitivity can be a contributing factor to the high mortality rate of TnT
related HCM, making understanding its etiology very important. Mutations in TnT mostly seem to be
associated with changes in calcium sensitivity (10). Three mutations seem to be prevalent, each having
varying affects on calcium sensitivity. The TnT Arg278Cys (R278C) mutation, not without some
debate (15), has been found to have negligible effects on calcium handling, resulting in a relatively
better prognosis for the patient (11). TnT Phe110Ile (F110I) and Ile79Asn (I79N) mutations both show
a respective increase in calcium sensitivity (10). Their pathologies differ from most HCM in that very
little fibrosis or hypertrophy is seen (12). This is unique, as most HCM has associated fibrosis, which
results in re entrant tachycardias and possible fibrillation (13). But with I79N and associated
mutations, re entrant tachycardias have been observed in the absence of any fibrosis (14). Both the
etiology of these mutations and resulting pathology has been researched extensively in murine and
porcine models (14, 15). The I79N, R278C, and F110I mutations were first identified and
characterized by Watkins et al. (16). Families exhibiting HCM had their DNA sequenced and, using
statistical analyses, polymorphisms were

Organic Chemistry Lab Report
CHEM 2123 and 2125 Organic Chemistry Lab I and II GUIDELINES FOR WRITING LAB
REPORTS INTRODUCTION Writing reports in organic chemistry lab may differ from the way it s
done in general chemistry. One goal of this course is to introduce you to the record keeping methods
used in research labs. Such methods are designed to organize experimental data in a format similar to
that required for publication in major scientific journals. Here are some important considerations that
apply in research settings. 1. Your work is unique, meaning that you might be the only person
performing certain experiments. 2. Research is an ongoing process. The projects assigned to you will
likely continue after you leave. People assigned to those projects will need ... Show more content on

Examples are the determination of physical constants such as melting point, boiling point, or density,
and instrumental techniques such as infrared (IR) spectroscopy. Sometimes these techniques are
referred to as analytical techniques. LAB REPORTS FOR CHEMICAL PREPARATIONS, OR
SYNTHESIS This type of report refers to experiments whose main goal is to prepare a pure substance
from specific starting materials. This necessarily involves a chemical transformation, or reaction. In
the simplest case, there is only one step. The starting materials are combined and a product forms.
This product is isolated, purified, and characterized, producing the final outcome of the experiment. In
a multistep synthesis, the product of the first step is used as a starting material in a second step, and so
on, until a final product is obtained. No multistep syntheses are performed in organic lab I. Some two
step syntheses are performed in organic lab II. FORMAT AND GRADING CRITERIA FOR
PRELABS AND LAB REPORTS The general format for most prelabs and lab reports is given below.
Specific differences with examples will be discussed later. You are expected to include the following
items in your lab notebook. All prelabs and lab reports are graded on a 100 point scale with the
following distribution. INDIVIDUAL PRELAB (100 pts) Due at the beginning of each experiment. 1

While gobbling up light and matter, a stellar black hole can also help hold a galaxy together. The

though black holes can be dangerous, they can also be helpful. Stellar black holes are the result of a
star reaching the end of its life and then collapses upon itself.
A stellar black hole is formed when a gianormous star collapses upon itself. When a stellar black hole

Roller Coasters History
Click, click, click your almost to the top of the hill and then whoosh your flying down the track. Not

There are really three main points when looking at roller coasters the history, making, and thrill of the
coaster. The history of roller coasters is as important as any other step because the architects learn
from others mistakes and what they did right. The beginning of roller coasters started in Russia in the
1400 s when people would make hills with the snow and send there sleds down the hills. They would
build would towers to get to the top of the hill. In the 1700 s they put wheels on the bottom of the
sleds and would be able to go down artificial hills during the summer, they would also use different
colored lanterns so they could ride at night. The first roller coaster opened in 1804 in France. The
roller coasters didn t last long Do to the increase of speed and there not being enough safety, accidents
were very common. The roller coasters caught back on whenever Lamarcus Thompson built the

A keyword (hashtag) used tweets
The best way to separate a tweet s topic into categories and to search for other tweets about these
topics is to use a hashtag. It is necessary to put the pound sign (#) before the word or phrase without
using any spaces or punctuation to create a hashtag. When a hashtag is tweeted, it automatically
becomes a clickable link that if somebody clicks on that, he is directed to a page which includes all the
most recent tweets that contain that specific hashtag. For example, if #newcastleUniversity or
#NewcastleUniversity is typed in the search box at the top of the Twitter page, all tweets under the
newcastleuniversity title are displayed because there is no case sensitivity.
A tweet about using keyword (hashtag) is shown in Figure 17.

Users can add a general location information, such as Istanbul, Newcastle Upon Tyne, to their tweets
thanks to Twitter s Tweet with Your Location feature. In addition to this, users tweet at the exact
geographic location coordinates of their tweeted location by using some applications. A tweet tweeted
at the Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul, Turkey is shown in Figure 17. Also the information about

Email Content Filtering Is The Fastest Means Of...
Introduction to Email Content Filtering
Email is the fastest means of communication among businesses. It is even faster than the faxing.
Email facilitates the exchange of information, keeps lowest communication costs and provides
flexibility to connect globally without any barriers (Sheahan 2015). Email in businesses could be used
for marketing purposes, intra company communication and coordinating with business suppliers,
partners and customers (Acevedo 2015).
Each day, it is found that all over the world 89 billion business emails are sent and received, and is
researched that 72.5 percent traffic of email is spam, whereas malicious files were found to account
for 3.4 per cent of all emails (Kaspersky Lab 2012)..

Other problems are DoS (Denial of service) attack, URL spoofing, man in the middle or sniffing, back

Email content filtering is one of the 35 mitigation strategies as suggested by Australian signals
Directorate (ASD 2014) and ASD (Australian Signals Directorate) provides guidance on mitigating
the malicious e mails (ASD 2012). Australia is more concerned about its security and many
departments such as Australia Post, Commonwealth bank, ASD, etc. provide alerts to the people about
spam or malicious e mails so that they are attentive beforehand and do not suffer from them. Australia
Post provides information about online security, scam and fraud (Post 2015). Commonwealth Bank
tells you the details about Hoax e mail (Commonwealth Bank 2015). RMIT uses Gmail as the means
of communication among students, staff, administrator, etc. which protects them from spam and
suspicious e mails (Gmail Help 2015).
In this paper, we have discussed about the advantages of email, threats related to email, techniques
used to protect the system from these threats.

Causes Of Residential Schools
What was the cause of having residential schools made? Who did the native people wrong to deserve
such discriminatory and harsh treatment? To begin with, we have the causes for the government to
open residential schools. It all began with Sir John A. Macdonald who funded residential schools
because he thought that the aboriginal people were not civilized enough to live in a modern society.
The government, wanted aboriginal people to learn how to read and write because they thought the
aboriginals were savages . Sir John A. Mac Donald said this because he did not like the way native
people have been taught, or their culture, and beliefs. Residential schools were established so native
children could be more successful if the school taught the children the main stream Canadian
curriculum. This curriculum consisted of learning Christianity as well as how to speak English or
French. They did this so native kids can better understand the Canadian culture, by speaking in
another language. The first residential school for the aboriginal people was established near Quebec
City, where Catholic missionaries aimed to civilize aboriginal boys. Parents didn t want to send their
children to the residential schools, Kids sometimes tried to run away. Similar attempts were made by
protestant missionaries in the Atlantic and in the Red River area but also failed. After that we have the
cause of the treatment of residential schools. Teacher were often poorly trained; few children received

Who Is Louis Riel National Hero
Louis Riel was a national hero, especially to the MĂ©tis of Canada. He defended his people, the MĂ©tis,
and their rights by creating Le Comité National des Métis and the provisional government at Fort
Garry. He showed the Canadian government that he is not a joke with the execution of Thomas Scott.
He contributed to the creation and government placed in Manitoba with the Manitoba Act. And he also
left, coming back with a new view and to attempt a peaceful negotiation.
Louis Riel went against the Prime Minister, John A. MacDonald, to get the MĂ©tis people the rights
they deserved. He seized Fort Garry with the National Committee of MĂ©tis as their leader. He did this
to set an example and show MacDonald just what he is capable of. Riel set up a provisional
government to replace the committee with himself as the leader, after refusing to take money to join
the USA. This is where the MĂ©tis wrote their List of Rights. Which were brought to MacDonald but
promptly ignored. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some of them escaped, so Riel sent more men to retrieve them. He had to make sure his people were
happy and not think of the casualties. Schultz escaped, but they did capture one Thomas Scott. Scott

people eventually were tired and scared of him so they consulted Riel. He decided to try him with the
MĂ©tis military council, used for the buffalo hunt. They tried him guilty for insubordination. He was
shot by a MĂ©tis firing squad; this caused an uprising of mixed opinions in Ontario and Quebec. This
put MacDonald in a very difficult place, giving Riel some satisfaction that he had put his opposition

Trail Of Tears History
The Trail of Tears was a trail often used by Native Americans on their way of escaping the white
settlers during the Indian Removal Act. The group of tribes were called the Five Civilized Tribes. It
consisted of the Cherokee, Creek, Choctaw, Chickasaw, and Seminole Nations. The tribes lived on
land in Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina and Florida. The land of the tribes were rich in
value. The discovery of gold made the white settlers want the land of the Natives, which was found
near Dahlonega, Georgia in 1928. Trail of Tears originated from a description of the Choctaw nation

Andrew Jackson (from Tennessee) was apart of the Indian Removal. In 1814, he commanded the U.S,
Military that defeated a fraction of the Creek Nation. The Creeks refused to migrate, but the
Chickasaws saw the removal as inevitable and did not resist. Then in 1823, Supreme Court handed
down a decision which stated that Indians could occupy lands with the U.S. but couldn t hold the title
to those lands, which was called the Right of Occupancy . Later in March 1832, a treaty was signed
and opened a portion of Alabama land. The Natives were guaranteed protected ownership of
remaining portion. By 1837, Jackson had removed forty six thousand Natives Americans land east of
Mississippi, which had then opened twenty five million acres of land to white settlement and slavery.
Cherokees used legal means in attempt to safeguard their rights and the Chickasaws were forced to
pay the Choctaws for their right to live on part of western allotment. President Martin Van Buren sent
General Winfield Scott and seven thousand soldiers to expedite the process because some Natives
wanted to stay and fight, they then forced the Cherokees into stockades at bayonet point. In 1907,
Oklahoma became a state and Indian Territory was gone for good. Going back, there were many
Seminole Wars or also called Florida Wars. There were three Seminole Wars and they were the longest
and most expensive Indian Wars in U.S history. Thousands and thousands of lives were lost during the
wars. The first Seminole War lasted from 1817 to 1818. Andrew Jackson s attitude toward Native
Americans was patronized and

Demographic And Socio Economic Changes
Demographic and socio economic changes effect cities, its economy and ultimately the country as a
whole. Changes in demographics tells us if an area is losing or gaining population and may act
accordingly to help it survive. Family patterns change over a period of time as more women go out for
jobs rather than stay at home. As medical field advances, the life span of human increases and these
changes can show that the median age of the population is growing. Setting up of new industries or
business houses in a city might bring in the working population and help in improving the economic
condition of the area.
This report presents some of the demographic and socio economic data collected from American
Community Survey 1 Year Estimates for the years 2006, 2009 and 2012 w.r.t. 203 Metropolitan
Statistical Areas (MSA) in United States of America. These MSA have been selected as the most
populated MSA in USA for the year 2012.
The most populous MSA in USA included a few MSA from Puerto Rico and Alaska and was removed
to focus only on Mainland USA. It was also observed that most of the MSA when plotted on the map
of USA are in East USA (155 MSA). Montana and Wyoming did not have any MSA among these 203
MSA. For the purpose of this report, Microsoft Excel and Tableau where used to store, clean and plot
the data. Summary Tables for the parameters which were selected to compare these MSA are

How Religion Shaped Roman Culture
One of the main bases of Roman culture is Religion. In fact, almost everything the Roman citizens did
revolved around beliefs, gods, and goddesses. Not only was their way of living affected by religion
but the progression of advancement in infrastructure and early forms of technology were as well. By
examining Roman baths and temples, defixiones, and Romanization of the provinces of the empire it
is clear that religion helped to shape Roman advancements in infrastructure and early forms of
technology during this time. Aquae Sulis and its baths are a perfect example of how religion affected
Roman life and culture. Romans took mineral springs of hot water, declared them sacred, and
transformed them into huge public baths and temples for worship. For the Romans believed that
emerging one s self into the hot water would bring healing from the goddess Sulis. Without religious
beliefs their desire for elaborate worship centers would not exist. As a result, the advanced and
fascinating Roman structures found in the city of Aquae Sulis may not have been built either. ... Show

sheets of lead or pewter dedicated to a specific god or goddess and often threw it into the spring at
Aquae Sulis. This is a fantastic example of the Roman s ability to find, create, and produce new means

Fisher’s tenure began a series of changes at Kodak: cost cutting measures were introduced, faster
decisions were encouraged and there was a move towards proactive business strategies. An informal
manager, Fisher replaced the rigid hierarchical organization at Kodak and delegated decisions to line
managers. The change in also resulted in a refocus of activities which resulted in reductions of 9,000
jobs worldwide during 1994 and 1995 almost 10% of the workforce. The company posted a net
income of $1,252 million in 1995 (Exhibit 1).
Corporate Environmental Efforts
Kodak has a history of health, safety, and environment (HS E) awareness. The company’s formal
commitment to HS E began in 1936 with the creation of the Laboratory of Industrial Medicine. By the
late 1980s the company had instituted HS E policies and performance standards, and a corporate HS E
assessment program. Additionally, the corporate strategic planning processes included HS E priorities.
A corporate level HS E Management Council was created at Kodak in 1989. The Council brings
senior company officers together to provide direction and establish policies affecting performance. By
the 1990s, HS E criteria were beginning to be included in performance tracking, and prevention based
HS B programs were encouraged.
Kodak’s vision statement now includes HS E performance, and Fisher has also adopted an HS E

Little Miss Sunshine Belonging Essay
Hello, my name is Valerie Faris, and I am one of the co directors (along with Jonathan Dayton) of the
film, Little Miss Sunshine . When making this film, my co director and I heavily aimed to portray the
different ways we as human beings search to find our place in the world. We focused on the
conception of building relationships and trust within the concept of a family. We wanted to convey the
concept that when it comes to family, its never too late to re connect and belong.
Our film follows an extended family on their journey from New Mexico to California, as young
daughter Olive prepares to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant.
In the beginning of the film, each member of the family feels isolated from one another, ... Show more

All it takes is Olives small hand upon his shoulder and he starts to calm down. This conveys that
although he does not feel a connection to anyone else around him, he will always feel one to Olive,
and it reminds him that he is on this trip for her. By dressing her in red, we also highlighted her
determination to win the Little miss sunshine contest and to make her appear more vulnerable to the
harsh treatment by the girls at the pageant, to which physically, she does not belong.
This use of colour continues throughout the film, with the bright yellow VW bus, which acted as a
motif. We used the colour yellow to evoke feelings of happiness and optimism, symbolising the
families journey of re connecting, of hope, and to reinforce the individual versus the collective action
working together for a change rather then separating themselves as individuals. We chose the
ridiculous loud and irreparable car horn to symbolise and reinforce the dysfunction of the family, and
convey the initial lack of connection.
Portrayal of the progress of the family was very important, and the van was used to symbolise this. It
started to break down just as the family was at its peak of frustration, however when they all worked
together to give it a pushing start, the van was able to continue on its journey. This highlighted their

Research Assignment: Single Parents in College
Single parents have it hard balancing everyday life, to handling a full time job, balancing financial
needs, making sure their children are taking care of which are just the basic needs that a single parent
does. Many single parents take that leap of going back to school to better and secure their future for
their family. However, single parents that make the choice of going to back to school to better
themselves go through a lot of issues or self neglect. Because of the self neglect and the overbearing
weight of handling everyday life and college life, researchers have found out that between finances,
family, and relationship difficulties disproportionally affected single parents, who reported nearly
twice as many suicide attempts as their counterparts. (Shenony.2016) Many people would think that
might not be as hard but being a single parent in college comes with a lot of challenges due to trying
to juggle many hats at once such as financial issues, balancing a stable home life for their dependents,
and staying on top of class assignments, these situations can be tough to manage but can eventually
cause long term mental and physical challenges in the future while focusing on building a better
future. During this time of our economic status the rate of mental and physical stress of single parents
in college could possible double within the next year.

The Rhetorical Analysis Of Senator Joseph Mccarthy
In February of 1950, Senator Joseph McCarthy made a speech with the purpose of accusing
democratic representative, Alger Hiss, of working with the communist Soviets in order to convince the
American people to support the Republican party. McCarthy convinces his audience by using
syntactical devices, such as anaphoras, rhetorical questions, and parallelism.
His use of anaphoras creates an emphasis on the motive of his sentence. For example, McCarthy
states, ...groups who have been selling this nation out... [are] those who have had all the benefits that
the wealthiest nation on earth has had to offer―the finest homes, the finest college education, and the
finest jobs... By repeating finest before each aspect of life, McCarthy emphasizes the wealth that the
men he discusses have been born into―creating conflicting images: the perfect Americans who have
had the best lives possible and those same Americans who are sabotaging the US by encouraging
communism. McCarthy repeats this tactic when he states, here is what he said, not back in 1928, not
before the war, not during the war, but two years after the last war ended. In this example, McCarthy
is using anaphora to emphasize that Stalin had said that a communist revolution can not be carried out
peacefully after the last war, meaning there might be another war. This is meant to reveal to his
audience why Americans should not succumb to the calm indifference that apparently always follows
a war in order to build up to the statement that Alger Hiss s massive sacrilege of endorsing
communism was able to bring out Americans outrage from a period of otherwise numbness and
apathy.
McCarthy also includes rhetorical question in his speech to make his point―a war against
communism is imminent―seem obvious. He states, ...can there be anyone here tonight who is so
blind as to say that the war is not on? This makes his audience seem ignorant if they do not agree with
his previous statement that a war against communism is unavoidable, which encourages people to not
outright disagree with his points. McCarthy continues to say, Can there be anyone who fails to realize
that the communist world has said, The time is now, that this is the time for the showdown between

Marketing Strategy For The Downtown Auburn Area Essay
Marketing Strategy:
Joyride
Background:
We are in the business of providing reliable micro transportation to the downtown Auburn area. There
is no free on demand transportation in the area but many growing businesses.
A joyride in Auburn would provide thousands of people an easier opportunity to commute around
campus and downtown Auburn.
Over the next two years I plan to grow Joyride to a stable, household brand to students and residence
alike of the Auburn community. I plan to grow to Joyride to eight carts that would be constantly and
consistently used throughout the week. I six business in the downtown area would be willing to
sponsor a cart marketing package.
Specific target businesses would be: Skybar, Bourbon Street Bar, Quixotes, The Hound, Acre
Restaurant, Live Oaks, Avondale Bar Tap Room, Moes Original, Little Italy Pizzeria, Pieology
Pizzeria, Auburn Draft house, 17 16 Bar, Ellie Shoe Boutique, and Locker Room.
There are many, many businesses that would receive the full personalized sales pitch from me but
those listed above are those that I think have the expendable income to support a marketing endeavor.
I believe that Joyride can take over a significant market share of the on demand transportation service
in the community since on demand ride shares have just been legalized in Auburn as of just this
August and the only competition Uber is just now getting the ball rolling themselves with no market
competition.
I am compelled to start Joyride in

Serious Side Effects Of IVC Filters
The most serious side effects of IVC filters are linked to filter fracture and/or migration. The filters
often consist of a design containing thin wire legs. These legs can break of the device and travel
within a patient s bloodstream and become lodged in an internal organ, usually the heart or lungs.
If a filter does fracture, it may not cause any problems as the piece may erode in time. However, the
piece may cause serious live threatening situations such as perforation of the heart tissue.
When migration occurs the filter shifts its position, and thus become ineffective at preventing a
pulmonary embolism. It may in a more serious move, perforate the inferior vena cava or shift into a
position where the device is impossible to remove.

A broad definition of conflict is a serious disagreement or argument that generally continues for a long period of time, however according to Huczynski and Buchanan (2010) no conflict exists if two or more parties are not aware of any conflict. In terms of conflict within events and leisure organisations, De Dre and Beersma (2005) say that conflict is best viewed as a process that begins when an individual or group perceives differences and opposition between him/herself and another individual or group about interests, believes or values that better to him or her. Within organisations, the management of conflict greatly depends on the personality and characteristic of individual managers. It is not possible for all human begins to live in peace and harmony all the time (Martin, 2005, p.750), therefore conflict within the workplace is inevitable and can arise within events and leisure organisations for many reasons. Personal factors are the main factor contributing to conflict. Differences in values and beliefs can often create conflict, as individuals will have alterations about the underlying purpose of an organisation, and how each other should act toward one another and customers. Unique personalities can also create conflict as it can result in people struggling to get along with one another, and therefore a personality clash will occur (Rollinson, 2008, p.418). Eyewitnesses testimonies have become a staple for many legal proceedings and is often taken as hard evidence for a crime which someone has committed. However, there has been a staggering number of innocent people who have been convicted of a crime based on eyewitness testimonies. This is what led to the creation of the Innocence Project whose mission is to use DNA evidence to free wrongly convicted individuals ( About Innocence Project, n.d.). However, factors such as interactions with other witnesses and the influence of media outlets cannot be accounted for. In addition, the small sample size of 13 participants means the results are not as reliable and cannot be generalised to the population at large. One possible factor which may influence the results is that witnesses were within close proximity to the events which transpired which can influence memory as well as not being applicable to many crimes whereby the witnesses only see part of the crime or a shadow of the perpetrator. An alternative explanation would be that flashbulb memory was at work here. A flashbulb memory is a detailed snapshot of an event which evoked feelings of shock or surprise or were otherwise emotionally arousing (Brown and Kulik, 1977). Events which have negative emotions attached to them seem to be processed in a detail attentive and conservative manner (Bless et al., 1996; Storbeck Clore, 2005; Bohn and Bernsten, 2007). The age of a witness also seems to influence the formation of flashbulb memories. In a study by Cohen, Conway and Maylor (1993) most of the younger participants experienced flashbulb memory compared to less than half the older participants. They concluded that the main factor which influenced the formation of flashbulb memories for older participants was rehearsal of the events whereas in younger ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yeh Hesien Cinderella Quotes Over the years many versions of Cinderella have been written, each one is unique to itself but they share just enough characteristics with the original tale that they can still be called a Cinderella story. More specifically in this essay I am going to analyze the role of the stepmom and how she is shown as cruel towards her stepchild and her motivations to do so. In the story Yeh Hsien the step mom is married to the cave master (Norton 107). This yet again shows that the man who has the child is someone who is in a position of power. • 9. A Psychodynamic Treatment Approach Essay Susanna would benefit most from a psychodynamic treatment approach, with a specific emphasis on clarification, confrontation, and interpretation/transference interpretation. As highlighted by McWilliams (1999), recurrent themes emerge within the therapy which constitute the client s internal and external world. With this in mind, Susanna s internal object relations would undoubtedly unfold in the relationship with the therapist. As Susanna evidences a lack of insight, it will be the therapist s responsibility to clarify Susanna s experiences for her. In this view, clarification refers to the reformulation of the patient s verbalizations to convey a more coherent view of what is being communicated. The therapist may want to clarify what it was like in Susanna s household growing up, and gather further information on Susanna s romantic relationships. Clarifying sentiments might include you stated that at times you felt loved by your mother, and hated at other times, but overall do you feel that your mother loves you? While this technique alone will not lead to therapeutic change, it will be essential for helping Susanna develop a rapport with the therapist, and establishing a therapeutic alliance. As borderline pathology is characterized by negative affects, and impulsive, dangerous behavior, the therapist s ability to keep Susanna in treatment will be essential. The therapist can do this by presenting him/herself non judgmentally, as well showing Susanna that s/he is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A Small Non Profit Healthcare Clinic Essay Health Insurance Problems In this case, a small non profit healthcare clinic that has been in business for the last ten years providing voluntary services is currently facing several issues that are affecting the organization. The clinic started as a comprehensive community effort, with a large group of healthcare providers as volunteers that were concerned about the health of people with low income in the that didn t have access to basic health care. This resulted in a new non profit organization with the founders serving as the board of directors. During the first years when the clinic was getting the business off the ground, their mission was to serve all comers and not to turn anyone away, regardless of their financial situation (Buchbinder, p. 441). The clinic has been providing free services for a very long time; however, the patient volume and the complexity of the organization has increased in the recent years. The clinic no longer has as many volunteers as they used to have as when they first started their mission, and the organization has experienced some significant changes that don t allow them to provide services for free. At this time the original founders of the clinic have stepped down from their leadership role and decided to hire a new administrator with some experience in management, to provide the board members with a proposal on how to handle this issue. People do not seem to understand that, the fight for the survival of the fatherland, the idea is lost among people nowadays. There was a pressure amongst everyone, inbred in our bones, the need to fit in, to join the Party, if you refused...you could not refuse. Change became a constant that was always drastic. You did not make your own decisions anymore, I remember that even as a young boy, my decisions were all made for me, in the name of the National Socialist Party, in the name of our Fuhrer. My father made the choices for me when I was young. For that, I blame what I became on him, for the path he led me down, but my actions, they were my own, forced upon me like a pawn in a larger game than life, but still my own. Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common form of FC (2). HCM is diagnosed often with left ventricular hypertrophy without a noticeable increase in external load and smaller ventricular cavity, but with a preserved ejection fraction (3). That is, the percent of blood leaving the left ventricle (5) does not change. Other pathologies include interstitial fibrosis, thickening of the media in intramural arteries, and myocytes disarray greater than 5%; which is a hallmark of HCM (4). As a result, many patients that do not fit standard diagnostic criteria may in fact have this form of HCM (8). This low diagnostic sensitivity can be a contributing factor to the high mortality rate of TnT related HCM, making understanding its etiology very important. Mutations in TnT mostly seem to be associated with changes in calcium sensitivity (10). Three mutations seem to be prevalent, each having varying affects on calcium sensitivity. The TnT Arg278Cys (R278C) mutation, not without some debate (15), has been found to have negligible effects on calcium handling, resulting in a relatively better prognosis for the patient (11). TnT Phe110Ile (F110I) and Ile79Asn (I79N) mutations both show a respective increase in calcium sensitivity (10). Their pathologies differ from most HCM in that very little fibrosis or hypertrophy is seen (12). This is unique, as most HCM has associated fibrosis, which results in re entrant tachycardias and possible fibrillation (13). But with I79N and associated mutations, re entrant tachycardias have been observed in the absence of any fibrosis (14). Both the etiology of these mutations and resulting pathology has been researched extensively in murine and porcine models (14, 15). This necessarily involves a chemical transformation, or reaction. In the simplest case, there is only one step. The starting materials are combined and a product forms. This product is isolated, purified, and characterized, producing the final outcome of the experiment. In a multistep synthesis, the product of the first step is used as a starting material in a second step, and so on, until a final product is obtained. No multistep syntheses are performed in organic lab I. Some two step syntheses are performed in organic lab II. To begin with, we have the causes for the government to open residential schools. It all began with Sir John A. Macdonald who funded residential schools because he thought that the aboriginal people were not civilized enough to live in a modern society. The government, wanted aboriginal people to learn how to read and write because they thought the aboriginals were savages . Sir John A. Mac Donald said this because he did not like the way native people have been taught, or their culture, and beliefs. Residential schools were established so native children could be more successful if the school taught the children the main stream Canadian curriculum. This curriculum consisted of learning Christianity as well as how to speak English or French. They did this so native kids can better understand the Canadian culture, by speaking in another language. The first residential school for the aboriginal people was established near Quebec City, where Catholic missionaries aimed to civilize aboriginal boys. Parents didn t want to send their children to the residential schools, Kids sometimes tried to run away. • 29. How Religion Shaped Roman Culture One of the main bases of Roman culture is Religion. In fact, almost everything the Roman citizens did revolved around beliefs, gods, and goddesses. Not only was their way of living affected by religion but the progression of advancement in infrastructure and early forms of technology were as well. By examining Roman baths and temples, defixiones, and Romanization of the provinces of the empire it is clear that religion helped to shape Roman advancements in infrastructure and early forms of technology during this time. Aquae Sulis and its baths are a perfect example of how religion affected Roman life and culture. Romans took mineral springs of hot water, declared them sacred, and transformed them into huge public baths and temples for worship. For the Romans believed that emerging one s self into the hot water would bring healing from the goddess Sulis. Without religious beliefs their desire for elaborate worship centers would not exist. As a result, the advanced and fascinating Roman structures found in the city of Aquae Sulis may not have been built either. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Romans often looked to the gods as possible allies during the difficult times and sought to reach out to them in any way they could. Defixiones, or curse tablets, are simply one example. When struggling with life or usually a vendetta against another citizen, the Romans often wrote curses on sheets of lead or pewter dedicated to a specific god or goddess and often threw it into the spring at Aquae Sulis. This is a fantastic example of the Roman s ability to find, create, and produce new means of expressing their religious culture and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. Little Miss Sunshine Belonging Essay Hello, my name is Valerie Faris, and I am one of the co directors (along with Jonathan Dayton) of the film, Little Miss Sunshine . When making this film, my co director and I heavily aimed to portray the different ways we as human beings search to find our place in the world. We focused on the conception of building relationships and trust within the concept of a family. We wanted to convey the concept that when it comes to family, its never too late to re connect and belong. Our film follows an extended family on their journey from New Mexico to California, as young daughter Olive prepares to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant. In the beginning of the film, each member of the family feels isolated from one another, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All it takes is Olives small hand upon his shoulder and he starts to calm down. This conveys that although he does not feel a connection to anyone else around him, he will always feel one to Olive, and it reminds him that he is on this trip for her. By dressing her in red, we also highlighted her determination to win the Little miss sunshine contest and to make her appear more vulnerable to the harsh treatment by the girls at the pageant, to which physically, she does not belong. This use of colour continues throughout the film, with the bright yellow VW bus, which acted as a motif. We used the colour yellow to evoke feelings of happiness and optimism, symbolising the families journey of re connecting, of hope, and to reinforce the individual versus the collective action working together for a change rather then separating themselves as individuals. We chose the ridiculous loud and irreparable car horn to symbolise and reinforce the dysfunction of the family, and convey the initial lack of connection. Portrayal of the progress of the family was very important, and the van was used to symbolise this. It started to break down just as the family was at its peak of frustration, however when they all worked together to give it a pushing start, the van was able to continue on its journey. This highlighted their restoring sense ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The video Adderal: Can it Boost Your GPA stated that so far research has not shown that it using these drugs can cause an addition. However, this does not mean that it will not cause a dependency. • 36. The Rhetorical Analysis Of Senator Joseph Mccarthy In February of 1950, Senator Joseph McCarthy made a speech with the purpose of accusing democratic representative, Alger Hiss, of working with the communist Soviets in order to convince the American people to support the Republican party. McCarthy convinces his audience by using syntactical devices, such as anaphoras, rhetorical questions, and parallelism. His use of anaphoras creates an emphasis on the motive of his sentence. For example, McCarthy states, ...groups who have been selling this nation out... [are] those who have had all the benefits that the wealthiest nation on earth has had to offer―the finest homes, the finest college education, and the finest jobs... By repeating finest before each aspect of life, McCarthy emphasizes the wealth that the men he discusses have been born into―creating conflicting images: the perfect Americans who have had the best lives possible and those same Americans who are sabotaging the US by encouraging communism. McCarthy repeats this tactic when he states, here is what he said, not back in 1928, not before the war, not during the war, but two years after the last war ended. In this example, McCarthy is using anaphora to emphasize that Stalin had said that a communist revolution can not be carried out peacefully after the last war, meaning there might be another war. This is meant to reveal to his audience why Americans should not succumb to the calm indifference that apparently always follows a war in order to build up to the statement that Alger Hiss s massive sacrilege of endorsing communism was able to bring out Americans outrage from a period of otherwise numbness and apathy. McCarthy also includes rhetorical question in his speech to make his point―a war against communism is imminent―seem obvious. He states, ...can there be anyone here tonight who is so blind as to say that the war is not on? This makes his audience seem ignorant if they do not agree with his previous statement that a war against communism is unavoidable, which encourages people to not outright disagree with his points. McCarthy continues to say, Can there be anyone who fails to realize that the communist world has said, The time is now, that this is the time for the showdown between the ... There is no free on demand transportation in the area but many growing businesses. A joyride in Auburn would provide thousands of people an easier opportunity to commute around campus and downtown Auburn. Over the next two years I plan to grow Joyride to a stable, household brand to students and residence alike of the Auburn community. I plan to grow to Joyride to eight carts that would be constantly and consistently used throughout the week. I six business in the downtown area would be willing to sponsor a cart marketing package. Specific target businesses would be: Skybar, Bourbon Street Bar, Quixotes, The Hound, Acre Restaurant, Live Oaks, Avondale Bar Tap Room, Moes Original, Little Italy Pizzeria, Pieology Pizzeria, Auburn Draft house, 17 16 Bar, Ellie Shoe Boutique, and Locker Room. There are many, many businesses that would receive the full personalized sales pitch from me but those listed above are those that I think have the expendable income to support a marketing endeavor. I believe that Joyride can take over a significant market share of the on demand transportation service in the community since on demand ride shares have just been legalized in Auburn as of just this August and the only competition Uber is just now getting the ball rolling themselves with no market competition. I am compelled to start Joyride in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Serious Side Effects Of IVC Filters The most serious side effects of IVC filters are linked to filter fracture and/or migration. The filters often consist of a design containing thin wire legs. These legs can break of the device and travel within a patient s bloodstream and become lodged in an internal organ, usually the heart or lungs. If a filter does fracture, it may not cause any problems as the piece may erode in time. However, the piece may cause serious live threatening situations such as perforation of the heart tissue. When migration occurs the filter shifts its position, and thus become ineffective at preventing a pulmonary embolism. It may in a more serious move, perforate the inferior vena cava or shift into a position where the device is impossible to remove. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
