Food In The Filipino Culture
Food is an essential form of socialization in the Filipino culture and social gatherings do not take place
without food. Food and meal patterns emphasize generosity, hospitality, and thoughtfulness, which
support group cohesiveness. Pg. 239. Extending an invite to a gathering or even sharing one s food is
considered a sign of good upbringing and can be used to show appreciation and caring, to welcome
others, celebrate accomplishments, and even be used to offer support in times of crisis. Their foods
consist of influence from Spanish, Chinese, and American cuisine and are usually sautéed or fried and
rice is served with every meal. The rice is typically steamed but can also be fried and eaten in a desert
form. Due to intolerance for dairy products, only babies or young children consume milk. Food is not
just used for social gatherings but also for medicinal benefits, such as colds, upset stomach, urinary
tract infections, sore throats, and aids in promoting digestion.
The only acceptable method of contraception is natural planning methods. Abortion is considered a
big no, as it goes against their catholic religion and is considered a sin. Most methods of birth control
are not excepted however, recent immigrants seem to be more open to alternative methods of birth
control. Pregnancy is viewed as a blessing and the child bearing woman should be catered to during
the time of pregnancy. Many Filipino women prefer a female physician rather than male because it is

The Blurred Line Between Truth and Lie
Delirium by Lauren Oliver is a dark and alluring novel that wanders back and forth between the
blurred lines of truth and lie. The main character Lena, falls in love in a dystopian society where love
is seen as a disease, amor deliria nervosa. On your eighteenth birthday...you will get cured and will be
happy forever... it is the deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you

Honda Motor Corporation Is Doing It Right
Honda Motor Corporation is doing it right. Honda is a very well known in Japan and around the world
for their products. They have been in business since 1949 and have grown rapidly in Japan and around
the world. When someone mentions that they purchased a Honda, one probably thinks about reliable,
affordability, and exceptionally designed automobile. However, one of the key factors in the company
s success is the fact that they have been successful in the international business environment. The car
giant has expanded it s manufacturing plants and process to other countries such as the United States,
China, Pakistan, Canada, South Africa just to name a few. However, the personal and business culture
of the Japanese is extremely had to duplicate in other countries, and Honda had to understand that
countries cultures and customs. After the company studied and understood their counterpart s culture
Honda had to execute a global strategy that would be effective in that country. Honda has always done
their due diligence when it comes to hiring and developing talent and when it comes to Honda
entering new a country there is no exception to the rule. Honda also views corporate social
responsibility as a pressing issue in their corporate manifesto. Understanding one s culture and

Comparing and Contrasting Liberal, Socialist, and Radical Feminism
In today s society it is nearly impossible to go a day without being subjected to some form of media
that does not marginalize women. The media takes a myriad of forms that include but are not limited
to televisions, phones, and the radio and it is no surprise that the media has a huge impact on society.
Most of the time the media is heralded as a pivotal source of news and entertainment however, many
look down on the media giving it a negative stigma as being biased and dominated by males. Males
are seen as so called experts on talk shows and are the most common voice in radio commercials.
Indeed, the very media in which we engage ourselves on a daily basis reflects ... Show more content

Because Socialist eminism is strongly rooted in the structure of society, it rejects the individualism
and autonomy that Liberal feminists believed in. (14). Socialist Feminists flourished from the 60 s
through the 70 s from an assortment of groups, and was established as a middle group between
Radical feminism and the Liberal left (Enns). In addition to focusing on women s liberation, early
Socialist Feminist targeted race as well as capitalism s exploitation of the working class as important
elements of woman s liberation.
Because Social Feminism bases itself on the oppression of a Capitalistic Society it is no surprise that it
has seminal roots in Marxist theory. Karl Marx, the founding father of Socialism believed that society
is fundamentally constructed from people s relations and the formation of various social classes as
they work to survive. Where Karl Marx focuses on work as the pivotal element in the division of
society, Social feminists view sex as the big divider (Keohane 6). Social feminists view sex as an
important element in the process of shaping and establishing hierarchies. Social Feminists base their
beliefs on the Marxist concept known as Praxis which, when defined, is the requirement for humans
and society as a whole to make the necessary changes in their environment in order survive (Enns).
The praxis according to socialist feminists establishes oppressive gender

In many organizations we find these being practiced with or without knowledge of the whole system
but the main intention is to deliver a product with quality and safety as their prime concerns. In this

Church Proclamation As The Material Of Dogmatics

The Church Dogmatics. §3. Church proclamation as the material of Dogmatics
While I read this part, I was wondering what the three guys would think of the best way for churches
to help non believers to come to faith. It might be very speculative, since they didn t explicitly write
about it. However, I want to imagine what they would answer if I ask to them.
All of them would agree that coming to faith is up to God s sovereignty. However, they would also
agree that God may use the church as a secondary cause. Then, what could be the best way to help
those who attend church but yet to come to faith?
Schleiermacher
In On Religion, Schleiermacher argues that religion is not to be identified with either knowledge or
action. It lies at the deeper level of our being, and we could discover that the true seat of religion is
feeling. (41) Also in Christian Faith, he asserts the same statement that The piety which forms the
basis of all ecclesiastical communions is, considered purely in itself, neither a
Knowing nor a Doing, but a modification of Feeling, or of immediate self consciousness. (5)
According to his view, we need to help non believers to feel their self consciousness. How? First of
all, Schleiermacher might disagree with the idea of teaching doctrine. He says that Doctrines are only
the shadows of our religious emotions (On religion, 8). Through Josef s mouth, he says that all speech

female character. She s fully narcissistic, but at the same time, rejects her recognition and claims
herself as unworthy of the credits Catherine II had given her. In her autobiography The Memoirs of

In Dashkova s memoir, she gave credits to her large role in the plot of overthrowing Peter III;
however, Catherine disagreed. She rebutted that it was her plan of action after the death of the
Empress Elizabeth and the vision of the coup was established long ago. My initial observation of
Dashkova is her ability to be extraordinary despite her difficult upbringing. Her intelligence was
compelling to the Empress Catherine and the men that she had encountered during her traveling.
Dashkova portrayed herself as a strong, versatile woman, who s not only different from most of the
women during the time period, but can also outperform her male counterparts in various tasks (e.g.
surgery, debate, carpenting, etc.) (pg. 144). She surprised the readers at the first moment when she met
Prince Dashkov, a Moscow man. She fell in love with him and got married at the age of 16. The
proposal was informal and emotional unlike the traditional arrangement with its strict regulations. Just
5 years after, Prince Dashkov passed away, leaving Dashkova 2 children and his mountainous
gambling debt. In the most hopeless scenario, Dashkova managed to raise her 2 children and provided
her son a wonderful education while still remaining faithful to the Empress Catherine II. She declared,

Introduction
Enzymes are molecules that catalyzes a chemical reaction by either increasing or
decreasing the chemical reaction up to an extent. Inhibitors are substances which slows
down a chemical reaction by reducing the activity of either a catalyst, substrates or the
enzymes. Most of the enzymes are proteins. They lower the activation energy of a certain
chemical reaction. Activation energy is a certain amount of energy required for the
reactants to convert in to products. If they cross the energy barrier, they convert in to
products. So enzymes don t allow the substrates to cross the barrier by lowering the
activation energy. Enzyme s characteristic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

light for calculating the absorbance. For this experiment, spectrophotometer was set to a
wavelength of 420 nm.
Hypothesis is an explanation for an observed phenomenon that can be tested. In this
experiment there are different factors affecting the enzyme activity like determining
baseline reaction kinetics, varying substrate concentration, effect of changing pH on
enzyme activity, and determining the effect of other factors on enzyme activity. Each factor
had a stated hypothesis like the enzyme activity will slow down for the substrate
concentration. For a pH closer to 7 the enzyme activity increases and adding galactose
which is the product increases the enzyme activity slowly. Hypothesis is a declared

Increasing the Bioavailability of Eye Drops Essay
Most ocular diseases are treated with topical application of eye drops. After instillation of an eye drop,
typically less than 5% of the applied drug penetrates the cornea and reaches intraocular tissues, while
a major fraction of the instilled dose is absorbed and enters the systemic circulation. As ocular
efficiency of topically applied drugs is influenced by the corneal contact time, most common method
of improving ocular availability of drugs is to increase pre corneal residence time by using vesicular
system and hydrogel. One such approach to improve bioavailability of drug is the use of in situ gelling
system, which gets converted from sol to gel as a result of change in pH. By using Carbopol940 a pH
sensitive gelling agent, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A significant challenge to the formulator is to bypass the protective barriers of the eye without causing
permanent tissue damage.
Conventional ophthalmic formulations like solution, suspension, and ointment have many
disadvantages which result in poor bioavailability of drug in the ocular cavity. The specific aim of
designing a therapeutic system is to achieve an optimal concentration of a drug at the active site for
the appropriate duration [3]. The various approaches that have been attempted to increase the
bioavailability and the duration of the therapeutic action of ocular drugs can be divided into two
categories. The first one is based on the use of sustained drug delivery systems such as vesicles and
particulates, which provide the controlled and continuous delivery of ophthalmic drugs. The second
involves maximizing corneal drug absorption and minimizing pre corneal drug loss which can be
achieved by amphiphilic vesicles [4].
Niosomes are non ionic surfactant vesicles obtained by hydration of synthetic nonionic surfactants,
with or without incorporation of cholesterol or other lipids. They are vesicular systems similar to
liposomes that can be used as carriers of amphiphilic and lipophilic drugs [5]. Niosomes are promising
vehicle for drug delivery and being non ionic; they are less toxic and improve the therapeutic index of
drug by restricting their action to target

Comparing Storm On The Island And The Prelude
Introduction:
Both Seamus Heaney and William Wordsworth convey the power of nature through their poems Storm
on the Island and Extract from, The Prelude . A key point of comparison between these two poems is
that they both present nature as wielding power over man... Nature is presented as powerful or even
more powerful than man itself:
Heaney presents nature to be more powerful than the speaker and the rest of the island s residents.
This is done through Heaney s use of military language. This choice of semantic field gives us the
sense that man and nature are at opposition with one another and by the harsh military verbs it seems
safe to assume that the weather is the dominant force of the two. Arguably, the use of an oxymoron
reaffirms this struggle. To us, the oxymoron does not make sense but it is possible that the irregularity
is intended to reflect the unfair battle that the islanders face. This may show us that the people on the
island have made sense of what goes on even though we struggle to. Again, this demonstrates the
power of nature by making the weather appear to be unable to be matched by man. Nature is presented
as powerful or even more powerful than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wordsworth uses simple language in complex sentences to show how he is so in awe of nature that he
struggles to find the words to justify what he is seeing. This is most true following the sighting of the
huge peak . The regression in adjectives and shows us how nature has transformed Wordsworth s
language therefore being presented as powerful for doing so. Perhaps, the metaphorical meaning of
the poem that as humans there are forces greater than us that many, in our proud, self centred state of
mind, do not realise is being revealed to Wordsworth and causing not only a change in language but in
his views of life. This powerful meaning most certainly attributes power to nature. There is a sense of
being within a

Essay about Sassouma Berete and Sogolon Kedjou in The...
Mothers play a very influential role in a young mans life. Even though Sogolon Kedjou and Sassouma
Bérété both had an impact on there son s life, their character traits were at different ends of the
maternal spectrum. Despite minuscule similarities Sogolon Kedjou and Sassouma Bérété were
depicted in direct contrast in the epic Sundiata. When comparing the two Sogolon Kedjou and
Sassouma Berete both did what they thought would help to get their son s to become king. Sogolon
knew everything that Sassouma was capable of doing to hurt her family, so she came up with the idea
to leave the kingdom. Soglon said, Lets us leave my son (113). She thought this would be the best
thing to do for all her children so she could keep them alive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sundiata loved him very much and since the death of Namandje he had been welcomed by Sogolon
(115). She also showed her son unconditional love when the village was spiteful with gossip and
ridiculed him. Although they lived in disgrace after they were banned from the kingdom Sogolon still
believed in her son. Most mothers possess a motherly instinct that encompasses a love for not only her
children but for other people s children as well. Sassouma Berete did like her children very much; let
alone the kings other children. She showed no compassion or love to anyone. All she was interested in
was running Mali. Sassouma had to pose like she was for her son to become the next king but it was
really about her being able to be in control. After getting her son to the throne she did not encourage
his growth or strength as a leader, instead she wished he was weak so she could take control. I would
say that I have a son that was afraid to rule, give your seat up to him since you cannot rule (116).
Another difference between the two women is that Sogolon was humble, where as Sassouma was
proud. In the beginning of the epic Sassouma s vanity was based on the fact that she knew her son was
the future king of Mali. When Sogolon came along, married the king, and had a baby boy, Sassouma
knew then her son s fait had changed. In retaliation to her knowing what was in the future, she made
fun of Sundiata

Animation Techniques Used In Tim Burton s The Corpse Bride
Tim Burton s The Corpse Bride is a comedy/romance/light horror movie. I greatly enjoyed watching
it. Although from the title, it seems to be a cheap and bad movie, years of hard work created this
jewel. The very advanced stop motion style makes it look beautiful. Because of the stop motion, it
understandably took a lot of effort. You can not see the fact that it was made that way. I especially
enjoyed the animation style, the storyline, and the slightly dark humor. The animation style is a very
interesting idea. Each doll has mechanics inside it. With it, you can make it walk , or wave its arms, or
even change its facial expression. This, of course, makes it a long process for each frame. The end
result amazes me, it looks like a computer animation, but, unbeliveably, is hand stopmotion. They
have numerous different dolls for the main characters, because they cannot get all the possible
expression choices into one doll. In fact, they got someone just for the scene where the main character
plays the piano, so that the finger movements would correspond with the sound. ... Show more content

My Favorite Trip At The Royal Palace Of Henry Viii
What a great weekend, I do not know which was my favorite event. One minute I was at the Royal

season it is. After the tour, we had two hours of free time and most of us wanted to see Henry VIII

tender and the batter was cooked spot on. After lunch, we were taken on a long bus journey to

The Issues Of Human Resource Personnel Essay
It may seem obvious that businesses, no matter the size, do not operate in a vacuum. This can mean
that when it comes to suppliers, customers, employees, or even general perception of the company to
the public a business is subject to laws that dictate what it can and cannot do in the course of doing
business. Although many people are aware that some laws exist in regards to Civil Rights, Age
Discrimination, and Equal Pay they may not know the specifics of the law or the consequences of non
compliance. Just like a company needs experts like accountants to manage the money or Quality
Assurance departments to ensure a product is produced; this lack of specific knowledge is why it is
important for companies to have Human Resource personnel. Human Resources is comprised of
experts that can design policies, practices, and even help shape the corporate culture to promise
compliance with employment law.
Regulations
Similar to laws that individuals must comply with, businesses can face varying degrees of
consequences for their failure to comply with applicable laws. Many separate laws have been passed
that effectively make it illegal for an employer to discriminate based on, amongst other things, race,
age, and sex.

Environmental Justice And Its Effects On The Environment
Environmental Justice
Living in a highly industrialized world that is ruled by capitalism, the concern for the environment
often takes a back seat. Individuals or companies nowadays prioritize achieving optimal profit without
putting into mind what their respective actions or productions may have an effect on the environment.
They do not realize how important the role of our environment plays in the quality of human life. We
can say that a good environment leads to a better quality life, while a bad environment could lead to a
harmful and unproductive life. Now, it becomes unfair and unjust when the risks and costs of a
company affect a certain group of people and on the opposite side of the spectrum another group of
individuals enjoy the benefits without costs. The individuals that are affected badly are usually from
Third World Countries where the distribution of risk and costs are not even (Low and Gleeson 1999).
This is where Environmental Justice comes in. Environmental Justice mainly concerns the welfare of
human beings (Low and Gleeson 1999). Talking about cities where capitalism surges from, it has been
argued that these cities are unfairly structured (Low and Gleeson 1999). Basically, what this is saying
is that the wealthier you are, the better or cleaner the environment. On the other hand, if you are poor,
then the environment around you will have more health risks. This kind of injustice or disparity is
what adds fuel to the fire of environmental justice. In

8th Grade Goodbyes Research Paper
EXAMPLE Eighth Grade Goodbyes They say we re too young to be apart of something that matters,
of something that s significant. We can t possibly have problems that mean anything, or relationships
that could last forever. Maybe they re right, but when you re in the eighth grade, it s a little hard to see
past all the middle school heartbreak and the people you live to impress. Sometimes we don t want to
admit that there s more to life than just eighth grade; that there is more to life than the amazing
friendships and the school we ve grown to find serenity in this year. Whatever the reason is, we just
don t want to say goodbye to the memories we ve made here. When we leave middle school, the first

Essay 1500 words
To what extent did the leadership of pericles influence the society of athenian life and Greek culture.
Intro
What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives
of others. The Athenian leader Pericles helped Athens and Greece to greatly exceed in militarily,
politically and architecturally, therefore Pericles immensely influenced Athenian society. His influence
was so profound that it resulted in Athens being known as the golden age of Pericles . Pericles was
known as the leading statesman of Athens for a miraculous period of 15 years in succession, ( 446 to
449 BC) and brought it to the height of its political power and its artistic achievement. From this point
in time families thrived and religious festivals were held throughout the year which made the golden
age of Pericles a peaceful time where citizens could relax and luxuriate in their lives. The age of
pericles was the strongest position in the history of Ancient Greece.
Pericles did a lot for the Athenians to improve their humanity and welfare. In this period such
important advances were made in a collection of fields including government, art, philosophy, drama
and literature. Pericles had three main goals as a leader, the first, to strengthen and establish
democracy, where he would influence and concede for all citizens to speak, vote and hold office.

The Historical Context Of Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus
Tiffany Stelle

Prof Barrett Graves

Tamora: Gender Constructs in Titus Andronicus
In Shakespeare s plays it is important to understand the historical context of women in the Elizabethan
Age and their role. The Shakespearean era consisted of a misogynistic and patriarchal society which
contrasted with Queen Elizabeth being the head of the state. Even though the most important person in
England was a woman, the common woman was still very limited in her power and in her
independence. Women in this era were dependent on men socially, economically and sexually.
Married women were not allowed to be in the public without their husbands, they were bound to the
domestic area. Women in general were believed to be less rational than men and always needed male
protection and guidance. As they were thought to be incapable of caring for themselves, it was the
men s duty to control their sexuality; the father had to guarantee that his daughter marries as a virgin
and the husband had to control his wife so she would only bear his children. Economically women
were dependent on men because they were not allowed to have their own business or be involved in
trade. They were seen as objects of bartering that men traded with and treated as if they were property.
Women were believed to be passive objects, this idea of male dominance above women is represented
in theology and philosophy and even supported by medical science: The fact that female sex organs
were inside was

Monitoring At First As The Sight Of The Sofa
Thursday, June 12th, 3041
The monitor crackled at first as the screen became brighter and brighter. The signal is fuzzy and the
sound was down low. I reach for the remote and scan through the channels. It only takes me a couple
of seconds to find the broadcast. I turn up the volume and sit down on the edge of the sofa.
The broadcaster s voice was deep and booming as he announced what today s events were to be. On
the screen was a vast green field surrounded by thousands of people being forcefully held back by the
big black barricades. Some were holding up signs above their heads whilst others were flailing their
hands in order to get attention from the guards standing at the edge of the field. The field itself had
been kept clear except ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sadly, a hierarchy has been formed because of these dates, those with a long time to live essentially
ruling the rest of us. If you are going to make it past the age of 55 you are automatically assigned a
council seat and from there you can work your way up to being part of the government. Our dates are
similar to that of societal classes. Lower class is those who are going to die young who live in fear
until they are no longer living. Middle class is made up of people who will live as long as their early
fifties. Then there is upper class. Upper class is for the lucky ones; who don t live in fear, who are
treated with the utmost respect and who don t die young.
My monitor screen flickered trying to find a good enough signal to stream the broadcast clearly.
Jumping back and forth until it returned to the live stream where the girl was now being led out onto
the field. Her hands were tied behind her back and her head was looking down, facing the ground.
Four guards walled her as she made the walk to the small grey cement slab.
It is now time. We strongly advise you to tell your children to look away.
I can t fully tell, but I think there was a note of remorse in the broadcaster s voice.
I sit paralysed and continue to watch the grotesque broadcast, loathing myself for doing so. A tall man
with slicked back black hair stepped forward. His face cracked with an apologetic grin before he
reached down and

Fig. 3.1 Fingerprint scanning
Minutia points represent positions where friction ridges end abruptly or where a ridge branches into
two or many more ridges. A typical good quality fingerprint template contains 20 70 minutiae points;
the actual number depends on the size of the finger sensor surface and how the user places his or her
finger on the sensor. The system stores the minutiae information position and direction along with the
user s demographic information as a template in the enrollment database. During the identification
phase, the user puts the finger on the same sensor, generating a new fingerprint image or template
called query print. Minutiae points are carried out from the query print, and the matcher module
compares the set of query minutia with the stored minutia templates or image in the enrollment
database to find the number of similar minutia points. Because of variations present in finger
placement and pressure applied to the sensor, the minutia points take out from the template and query
fingerprints must be lined up, or submitted before matching. After line up the fingerprints, the matcher

throws a ray in the downtrodden and oppressed in the modern world. Adiga being the mouth piece of
the deprived, lonely and alienated section of the society through his character Balram. He represents
Balram as the white tiger which is the rare kind of animal who has the matchless intellectuality being
born in the dark side of India. For Adiga Darkness refers to the oppressed community which is the
majority in india and light as the so called well to do in the society. The aim of the paper is to bring

Mr. Ashok and he finds that he can make more money when not being faithful. He becomes the
spendthrift. It s amazing. The moment you show cash, everyone knows your language. According to
Balram Money is the key to all doors. He believed in this philosophy Let animals live like animals; let
humans live like humans. That s my whole philosophy in a sentence. But his philosophy of life cannot
happen in the India of Light.
In the old days there were one thousand castes and destinies in India. These days, there are just two
castes: Men with Big Bellies, and Men with Small Bellies. And only two destinies: eat or get eaten up.

Example Of A Hero Of Brunhild
Sigurd is an example of a hero who follows a strong moral and ethical code. The most prominent
example of this occurs after he has rescued Brunhild from her castle for the second time while he is
disguised as his friend Gunnar. At this point in the story, Sigurd no longer remembers his love for
Brunhild because of a potion he was given. Therefore, he agrees to take the form of his friend so
Gunnar can marry Brunhild. Sigurd clearly cares very much about doing the right thing and keeping
the promise he made to Gunnar. In fact, Sigurd makes sure to place his sword between him and
Brunhild when they sleep together. It can be argued that Sigurd was willingly being deceptive towards
Brunhild, but this situation does show Sigurd s inner desire to be honorable by helping others and
fulfilling his promises. Additionally, when Sigurd is able recall the fact that he loves Brunhild, it is his
honor and recognition of the fact that she is someone else s wife that prevents him from acting on his
feelings. Bakaridjan Kone is another example of a hero who takes pride in his moral and ethical code.
He is even willing to die so that he may act in accordance with it. In the myth, Bakaridjan Kone makes
the imprudent decision to boast that I am so strong that if I were to stamp one foot, so much earth
would give way that the entire kingdom of Segu would be swallowed up! But the people would have
nothing to fear, for I could pull out all of Segu with one finger! But if I were to fall into

naturally and we use our voices all the time to communicate with others, to sing, to yell, and to .....
But many of us are left to ask, what is voice? Voice is a way to express yourself intellectually, make
other minds think for themselves, and analyze the world around them causing change in society.
Ferguson, Missouri the town where 18 year old Michael Brown, an unarmed black man, was killed by
Officer Wilson, a white police officer on August 9, 2014. Protest had begun in Ferguson, but many of
the protester were nonviolent and felt the police were racially profiling black men. Three months later,
the Grand Jury released its verdict to not indict Officer Wilson. The verdict led to protests that became
violent quickly. The protester began to loot local business such as a McDonalds where they flat screen
TV s. People also broke into the liquor store that Michael brown stole the cigarillos from. The
protesters that broken into the liquor store stole sodas, chips, and other snack food items. Not only was

Memory Loss Essay
Memory decline is a natural part of aging. While considered normal, excessive and rapid loss of
memory may be an indicator of some bigger issue. As we age, our core functions begin to decline.
However, if we continue to remain physically active, engage socially, and eat a healthy diet, there is
no reason why memory loss would occur earlier than usual.
Forgetfulness is one thing though and severe memory issues is another. Older people who demonstrate
signs of cognitive impairment may actually be at high risk for diseases like dementia or Alzheimer s.
It is best to consult your healthcare provider so that they can conduct the necessary tests and determine
the underlying issues behind the cognitive decline.

In addition, herbs and spices are readily available and do not have to be taken in high doses for results.
In fact, one can simply add these memory forming spices and herbs to regular meals.
Keep in mind that there is no guarantee that you will become an Einstein overnight as soon as you
start consuming these herbs but one thing you should know is that whether they improve your memory
rapidly or not, they do offer many other health benefits like lowering of blood sugar and cholesterol,
and preventing heart disease etc.
If you want to try herbs and spices to boost your memory, here is a list of some that might help and
can easily be added to your daily diet:
Parsley and Thyme have earned a reputation for increasing nerve growth in areas of the brain
concerned with memory. Animal studies show that rats that were fed a regular diet of parsley and
thyme turned out to be far more intelligent as compared to rats that were fed a regular laboratory diet.
It is believed that these two spices may even be effective in preventing memory loss due to Alzheimer
s disease.
Chamomile is a substance found in all types of tea. Many reports suggest that chamomile may be the
one reason why Asians tend to have powerful memories. Chamomile is consumed as a tea and studies
show that it contains chemicals that not only reduce anxiety but activate neurotransmitters

Food and meal patterns emphasize generosity, hospitality, and thoughtfulness, which support group cohesiveness. Pg. 239. Comparing and Contrasting Liberal, Socialist, and Radical Feminism In today s society it is nearly impossible to go a day without being subjected to some form of media that does not marginalize women. The media takes a myriad of forms that include but are not limited to televisions, phones, and the radio and it is no surprise that the media has a huge impact on society. Most of the time the media is heralded as a pivotal source of news and entertainment however, many look down on the media giving it a negative stigma as being biased and dominated by males. Socialist Feminists flourished from the 60 s through the 70 s from an assortment of groups, and was established as a middle group between Radical feminism and the Liberal left (Enns). In addition to focusing on women s liberation, early Socialist Feminist targeted race as well as capitalism s exploitation of the working class as important elements of woman s liberation. Because Social Feminism bases itself on the oppression of a Capitalistic Society it is no surprise that it has seminal roots in Marxist theory. Karl Marx, the founding father of Socialism believed that society is fundamentally constructed from people s relations and the formation of various social classes as they work to survive. Where Karl Marx focuses on work as the pivotal element in the division of society, Social feminists view sex as the big divider (Keohane 6). Social feminists view sex as an important element in the process of shaping and establishing hierarchies. Social Feminists base their beliefs on the Marxist concept known as Praxis which, when defined, is the requirement for humans and society as a whole to make the necessary changes in their environment in order survive (Enns). Church proclamation as the material of Dogmatics While I read this part, I was wondering what the three guys would think of the best way for churches to help non believers to come to faith. It might be very speculative, since they didn t explicitly write about it. However, I want to imagine what they would answer if I ask to them. All of them would agree that coming to faith is up to God s sovereignty. However, they would also agree that God may use the church as a secondary cause. Then, what could be the best way to help those who attend church but yet to come to faith? Schleiermacher In On Religion, Schleiermacher argues that religion is not to be identified with either knowledge or action. It lies at the deeper level of our being, and we could discover that the true seat of religion is feeling. (41) Also in Christian Faith, he asserts the same statement that The piety which forms the basis of all ecclesiastical communions is, considered purely in itself, neither a Knowing nor a Doing, but a modification of Feeling, or of immediate self consciousness. (5) According to his view, we need to help non believers to feel their self consciousness. How? First of all, Schleiermacher might disagree with the idea of teaching doctrine. My initial observation of Dashkova is her ability to be extraordinary despite her difficult upbringing. Her intelligence was compelling to the Empress Catherine and the men that she had encountered during her traveling. Dashkova portrayed herself as a strong, versatile woman, who s not only different from most of the women during the time period, but can also outperform her male counterparts in various tasks (e.g. surgery, debate, carpenting, etc.) (pg. 144). Introduction Enzymes are molecules that catalyzes a chemical reaction by either increasing or decreasing the chemical reaction up to an extent. Inhibitors are substances which slows down a chemical reaction by reducing the activity of either a catalyst, substrates or the enzymes. Most of the enzymes are proteins. They lower the activation energy of a certain chemical reaction. Activation energy is a certain amount of energy required for the reactants to convert in to products. • 12. Increasing the Bioavailability of Eye Drops Essay Most ocular diseases are treated with topical application of eye drops. After instillation of an eye drop, typically less than 5% of the applied drug penetrates the cornea and reaches intraocular tissues, while a major fraction of the instilled dose is absorbed and enters the systemic circulation. As ocular efficiency of topically applied drugs is influenced by the corneal contact time, most common method of improving ocular availability of drugs is to increase pre corneal residence time by using vesicular system and hydrogel. One such approach to improve bioavailability of drug is the use of in situ gelling system, which gets converted from sol to gel as a result of change in pH. By using Carbopol940 a pH sensitive gelling agent, an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A significant challenge to the formulator is to bypass the protective barriers of the eye without causing permanent tissue damage. Conventional ophthalmic formulations like solution, suspension, and ointment have many disadvantages which result in poor bioavailability of drug in the ocular cavity. The specific aim of designing a therapeutic system is to achieve an optimal concentration of a drug at the active site for the appropriate duration [3]. The various approaches that have been attempted to increase the bioavailability and the duration of the therapeutic action of ocular drugs can be divided into two categories. The first one is based on the use of sustained drug delivery systems such as vesicles and particulates, which provide the controlled and continuous delivery of ophthalmic drugs. The second involves maximizing corneal drug absorption and minimizing pre corneal drug loss which can be achieved by amphiphilic vesicles [4]. Niosomes are non ionic surfactant vesicles obtained by hydration of synthetic nonionic surfactants, with or without incorporation of cholesterol or other lipids. They are vesicular systems similar to liposomes that can be used as carriers of amphiphilic and lipophilic drugs [5]. Niosomes are promising vehicle for drug delivery and being non ionic; they are less toxic and improve the therapeutic index of drug by restricting their action to target ... • 13. Comparing Storm On The Island And The Prelude Introduction: Both Seamus Heaney and William Wordsworth convey the power of nature through their poems Storm on the Island and Extract from, The Prelude . A key point of comparison between these two poems is that they both present nature as wielding power over man... Nature is presented as powerful or even more powerful than man itself: Heaney presents nature to be more powerful than the speaker and the rest of the island s residents. This is done through Heaney s use of military language. This choice of semantic field gives us the sense that man and nature are at opposition with one another and by the harsh military verbs it seems safe to assume that the weather is the dominant force of the two. Arguably, the use of an oxymoron reaffirms this struggle. To us, the oxymoron does not make sense but it is possible that the irregularity is intended to reflect the unfair battle that the islanders face. This may show us that the people on the island have made sense of what goes on even though we struggle to. Again, this demonstrates the power of nature by making the weather appear to be unable to be matched by man. Nature is presented as powerful or even more powerful than ... Perhaps, the metaphorical meaning of the poem that as humans there are forces greater than us that many, in our proud, self centred state of mind, do not realise is being revealed to Wordsworth and causing not only a change in language but in his views of life. Even though Sogolon Kedjou and Sassouma Bérété both had an impact on there son s life, their character traits were at different ends of the maternal spectrum. Despite minuscule similarities Sogolon Kedjou and Sassouma Bérété were depicted in direct contrast in the epic Sundiata. When comparing the two Sogolon Kedjou and Sassouma Berete both did what they thought would help to get their son s to become king. Sogolon knew everything that Sassouma was capable of doing to hurt her family, so she came up with the idea to leave the kingdom. Soglon said, Lets us leave my son (113). She also showed her son unconditional love when the village was spiteful with gossip and ridiculed him. Although they lived in disgrace after they were banned from the kingdom Sogolon still believed in her son. Most mothers possess a motherly instinct that encompasses a love for not only her children but for other people s children as well. Sassouma Berete did like her children very much; let alone the kings other children. She showed no compassion or love to anyone. All she was interested in was running Mali. Sassouma had to pose like she was for her son to become the next king but it was really about her being able to be in control. After getting her son to the throne she did not encourage his growth or strength as a leader, instead she wished he was weak so she could take control. I would say that I have a son that was afraid to rule, give your seat up to him since you cannot rule (116). Another difference between the two women is that Sogolon was humble, where as Sassouma was proud. In the beginning of the epic Sassouma s vanity was based on the fact that she knew her son was the future king of Mali. When Sogolon came along, married the king, and had a baby boy, Sassouma knew then her son s fait had changed. In retaliation to her knowing what was in the future, she made fun of Sundiata ... Although from the title, it seems to be a cheap and bad movie, years of hard work created this jewel. The very advanced stop motion style makes it look beautiful. Because of the stop motion, it understandably took a lot of effort. You can not see the fact that it was made that way. I especially enjoyed the animation style, the storyline, and the slightly dark humor. The animation style is a very interesting idea. Each doll has mechanics inside it. With it, you can make it walk , or wave its arms, or even change its facial expression. This, of course, makes it a long process for each frame. The end result amazes me, it looks like a computer animation, but, unbeliveably, is hand stopmotion. This can mean that when it comes to suppliers, customers, employees, or even general perception of the company to the public a business is subject to laws that dictate what it can and cannot do in the course of doing business. Although many people are aware that some laws exist in regards to Civil Rights, Age Discrimination, and Equal Pay they may not know the specifics of the law or the consequences of non compliance. Just like a company needs experts like accountants to manage the money or Quality Assurance departments to ensure a product is produced; this lack of specific knowledge is why it is important for companies to have Human Resource personnel. Human Resources is comprised of experts that can design policies, practices, and even help shape the corporate culture to promise compliance with employment law. Regulations Similar to laws that individuals must comply with, businesses can face varying degrees of consequences for their failure to comply with applicable laws. Many separate laws have been passed that effectively make it illegal for an employer to discriminate based on, amongst other things, race, age, and sex. • 19. Environmental Justice And Its Effects On The Environment Environmental Justice Living in a highly industrialized world that is ruled by capitalism, the concern for the environment often takes a back seat. Individuals or companies nowadays prioritize achieving optimal profit without putting into mind what their respective actions or productions may have an effect on the environment. They do not realize how important the role of our environment plays in the quality of human life. We can say that a good environment leads to a better quality life, while a bad environment could lead to a harmful and unproductive life. Now, it becomes unfair and unjust when the risks and costs of a company affect a certain group of people and on the opposite side of the spectrum another group of individuals enjoy the benefits without costs. The individuals that are affected badly are usually from Third World Countries where the distribution of risk and costs are not even (Low and Gleeson 1999). This is where Environmental Justice comes in. Environmental Justice mainly concerns the welfare of human beings (Low and Gleeson 1999). Talking about cities where capitalism surges from, it has been argued that these cities are unfairly structured (Low and Gleeson 1999). Basically, what this is saying is that the wealthier you are, the better or cleaner the environment. On the other hand, if you are poor, then the environment around you will have more health risks. • 26. The Historical Context Of Shakespeare s Titus Andronicus Tiffany Stelle English Prof Barrett Graves 8 April 2015 Tamora: Gender Constructs in Titus Andronicus In Shakespeare s plays it is important to understand the historical context of women in the Elizabethan Age and their role. The Shakespearean era consisted of a misogynistic and patriarchal society which contrasted with Queen Elizabeth being the head of the state. Even though the most important person in England was a woman, the common woman was still very limited in her power and in her independence. Women in this era were dependent on men socially, economically and sexually. Married women were not allowed to be in the public without their husbands, they were bound to the domestic area. Women in general were believed to be less rational than men and always needed male protection and guidance. As they were thought to be incapable of caring for themselves, it was the men s duty to control their sexuality; the father had to guarantee that his daughter marries as a virgin and the husband had to control his wife so she would only bear his children. Economically women were dependent on men because they were not allowed to have their own business or be involved in trade. They were seen as objects of bartering that men traded with and treated as if they were property. Women were believed to be passive objects, this idea of male dominance above women is represented in theology and philosophy and even supported by medical science: The fact that female sex organs were inside was ... On the screen was a vast green field surrounded by thousands of people being forcefully held back by the big black barricades. If you are going to make it past the age of 55 you are automatically assigned a council seat and from there you can work your way up to being part of the government. Our dates are similar to that of societal classes. Lower class is those who are going to die young who live in fear until they are no longer living. Middle class is made up of people who will live as long as their early fifties. Then there is upper class. Upper class is for the lucky ones; who don t live in fear, who are treated with the utmost respect and who don t die young. My monitor screen flickered trying to find a good enough signal to stream the broadcast clearly. A typical good quality fingerprint template contains 20 70 minutiae points; the actual number depends on the size of the finger sensor surface and how the user places his or her finger on the sensor. The system stores the minutiae information position and direction along with the user s demographic information as a template in the enrollment database. During the identification phase, the user puts the finger on the same sensor, generating a new fingerprint image or template called query print. Minutiae points are carried out from the query print, and the matcher module compares the set of query minutia with the stored minutia templates or image in the enrollment database to find the number of similar minutia points. Because of variations present in finger placement and pressure applied to the sensor, the minutia points take out from the template and query fingerprints must be lined up, or submitted before matching. • 33. Example Of A Hero Of Brunhild Sigurd is an example of a hero who follows a strong moral and ethical code. The most prominent example of this occurs after he has rescued Brunhild from her castle for the second time while he is disguised as his friend Gunnar. At this point in the story, Sigurd no longer remembers his love for Brunhild because of a potion he was given. Therefore, he agrees to take the form of his friend so Gunnar can marry Brunhild. Sigurd clearly cares very much about doing the right thing and keeping the promise he made to Gunnar. In fact, Sigurd makes sure to place his sword between him and Brunhild when they sleep together. It can be argued that Sigurd was willingly being deceptive towards Brunhild, but this situation does show Sigurd s inner desire to be honorable by helping others and fulfilling his promises. Additionally, when Sigurd is able recall the fact that he loves Brunhild, it is his honor and recognition of the fact that she is someone else s wife that prevents him from acting on his feelings. Bakaridjan Kone is another example of a hero who takes pride in his moral and ethical code. He is even willing to die so that he may act in accordance with it.
