The Great Hall Of The People
The Great Hall of the People was executed after the chaos of the wars as well as the initial success of
the industrialization, and it was a crowning work in the Tian anmen Square. It is as if in the historical
context of the German Expressionist architecture as the total work of art with an intention to generate
civil unity through erections of interactive, multi functional structures (also, the Alpine architecture).
For the Chinese Communist leaders and the population, the Great Hall symbolizes the socialist visions
of grandeur, surplus, equality, all inclusiveness, and collectivism. Even though the Chinese society
was far behind the western superpowers, the gesture of catching up and surpassing them through
socialist construction is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A comprehensive vision of combing arts from multiple sources to create an architectural totality goes
hand in hand with the socialist utopia, and this vision is kept unchanged in today s China: the Great
Hall of the People continues to carry the same functions as those in the 60s and 70s, stunning the
viewers from abroad, in Beijing, and through televisions. The political structure of China remains
unchanged, but the chief governing program shifted from class struggle (jieji douzheng 阶级斗争) to
economic construction (jingji jianshe 经济建设). The economic boom enhances materialism and
individualism, and endangers the spiritual realm of China. Then, someone vows to rescue the spiritual
and aesthetic declines by sponsoring a museum in Southern China.

The Muxin Art Museum as a Personal Total Work of Art for Aesthetic Education
As I heard: a cultural desert must nurture a Renaissance.

One of the interior designers, among many, of the Great Hall of the People is Muxin (1927 2011;
formerly known as Sun Pu). A man educated in the Shanghai School of Art and mentored by Lin
Fengmian, Muxin enjoyed the positivity of the social transformation induced by the 1917 19
revolutions. He spent his childhood in a watertown of Jiaxing, East China, fewer than 100 km away

A Brief Note On Coronary Heart Disease ( Chd )
Introduction
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is the obstruction of blood vessels that supply the heart muscle, due to
the deposition of lipid material [1]. Figure 1 illustrates various modifiable and non modifiable risk
factors, influencing the prevalence of CHD within Australians.
Figure 1: Modifiable and non modifiable risk factors affecting the prevalence of Coronary Heart
Disease in Australia
[19]
Modifiable Risk Factors Non Modifiable Risk Factors
Obesity Increasing age
Hyperlipidemia Gender
Excessive alcohol and tobacco use Family history
Psychological stress Heredity
Prevalence of CHD over the past century
As shown in Figure 2 (Page 2), the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) observed a
73% decrease in mortality caused by CHD, between 1968 and 2011 [2]. More specifically, the decline
in the mortality rate occurred in the late 1960s, where these changes were most evidence in males and
females aged 55 64 and 65 74 years respectively [21]. As shown in Figure 3 and 4 (Page 2), the
mortality rate in men aged 35 44 and 45 54 years declined at a decreasing rate, in contrast to older
men where the mortality rate had increased [21]. In women however, the rate of overall decline had
only been hindered in the 45 54 age category, as opposed to increasing in older age groups [21]. Thus,
over the past century, mortality rates have generally declined [2]. Although, this rate of decline is
gradually improving in older populations and deteriorating in younger

Why Do Profit Organizations Offer Tax Deductions On...
The controversial debate about whether or not to offer tax deductions on charitable donations
continues to resurface in popularity as leaders propose novel ideas. It s a debate that takes into account
fundamentally different charitable organizations, their size, and varying donor income. Choosing a
size is often a matter of perspective. Nonetheless, a comprehensive analysis of this debate how much
nonprofit organizations and society stand to lose with the end of tax deductions being offered to donor.
This will especially concern the 66.4 percent of smaller registered charitable organizations whose
combined expenses make up only 1.8 percent of the category, and generate less than $500,000 in
expenses (McKeever). Thus, something has to be done ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Women Go Into Leadership
Title:
Women go into leadership female style or male style?
The Pitch:
The debate about the difference in leadership style of women and men continues to attract attention
since women make strides into leadership position dominated mainly by men. Men have long been
holding these leadership roles and have defined styles accepted by people. Therefore, it is not
surprising that women are usual the focus in terms of the discussion on gender difference in leadership
styles. There seems to be great disagreement about the behaviour of women and men actually
performing such roles (Eagly, 2001). This disagreement on this focus can be divided into two groups.
One is the no difference camp, who commonly agreed that there are few differenced in the ... Show

In other words, communal aspects are more presented in a transformational leadership style. While
transformational leaders are portrayed to have a personalized view of each co worker and they often
take into account their colleagues individual needs and development (Eagly, 2003).
Based on Eagly and Johannesen Schmidt theory, female and male forms of leadership and
empowerment seem to be different. Communal and transformational characteristics are more
presented by women than men. So some women exhibited an open and participatory leadership style.
Additionally, women are perceived to work harder and take their work more seriously, and women are
less concern with salary than the recognition of a good done of job (Alvesson, 2009).
The focus of the debate concentrates on: In what context leadership style shows a similarity or a slight
difference between women and men and is there a specific female form of leadership? This
documentary shows the different leadership styles of women by case studies. It will investigate
whether or perhaps there is a specific female style of leadership preferred by a majority of women.
POV:
Social role theory of sex differences and similarities convincingly explains the sex differences in
leadership style. At the same time, there are certain expectations coming from co workers towards
their leaders when they are

Gender Stereotypes In The Little Miss Sunshine
Little Miss Sunshine film (2006) tells the story of seven year old Olive Hoover who gets the chance to
to compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant in California. Her family reluctantly supports
her and travels across the country to ensure that her dreams come true. Set in contemporary America,
the film invokes discussions about children being put under pressure to conform to cultural standards
of beauty and behaviour. Feminist theorists such as Naomi Wolf and Wendy Chapkis argue that beauty
culture is a patriarchal social construct created to position women as inferior to men. Beauty culture
that aims to socialise girls from a young age to adopt ultra feminine practices. However, the beauty
pageant aims to offer rewards to young ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the film we are witness to the immense work and time invested in the process of
becoming feminine. Foucault s governmentally refers to individuals own regulation of their behaviour
and of others communicated through cultural authorities such as institutions and the media. Beauty
Pageants which are televised are a source of authority over a beauty standard and behavioural
guidelines provide consequently connected to the shaping and enforcing of feminine practices.
(Ouellette and Hay, 2008:471). Robinson and Davies, 2008:350) When when Olive is required to
compete in the talent category of the competition she unintentionally performs a striptease that was
taught to her by her drug addicted grandfather. When Olive s sexually suggestive performance is faced
with horror from the audience, her family supports her by jumping on the stage and performing
similarly suggestive sexual dance moves. Ironically, the audience judges the parents as encouraging
adult like behaviour and leaves the auditorium in disgust, while pageant officials unsuccessfully try to
stop the performance. The pageant officials act as gender police and try to interfere in the performance
as a mechanism of controlling Olive s deviant behaviour. Beauty pageants are a justified practice
through the belief that femininity and sexuality is a form of female empowerment, however, it
contributes and perpetuates patriarchal

Analysis Of Nothing Gold Can Stay
Nothing gold can stay was written by Robert Frost in 1923. Frost was a U.S. citizen. Frost did write a
different copy dealing with his fear of a second world war because he thought that might be the end of
humanity. He only gave the original to people he trusted but released this copy to the world instead.
although the original poem is about the world ending this version is about losing something new and
good so it becomes a story which makes it a narrative.
The meaning of the title of the poem is slightly hidden because it refers to the meeting of the poem,
but the meaning of the poem is hidden by figurative language. Nothing Gold can Stay could be
interpreted different from person to person however there are only 2 meanings to the title. There is no
antithesis or historical reference to this poem.
There is little repetition in this poem and there are no repeated phrases but one repeated word is gold .
This poem time frame is from spring to winter because the poem starts with the a bud then it becomes
a flower it changes then begins to die and you can arrive at this conclusion by the phrase dawn goes
down to day and nothing gold can stay. Those phrases both refer to a change whether metaphorically
or literally.
Eden is mentioned in this poem however Eden wasn t really a character in my eyes but rather a form
of personification, so kind of like mother nature but not exactly the same.
This version of the poem isn t the whole poem but rather is pieces of another different

Estimation of risk adjusted returns is important to Zeus as In Zeus opinion, investors will not pay for
the higher return generated by merely taking the higher risk. Investors demand Zeus to utilise
professional skills to provide them with a return above the benchmark. There are also advantages and
disadvantages of each of the risk adjusted return measures employed, making some of them to be
better applied to a specific type of fund comparison than the others. Introduction: Zeus Asset

Disadvantaged: Only useful as a sub portfolio measure of a board or fully diversified portfolio. Jasen s

analyzing the performance of the various mutual funds, it would help the company to establish its
internal rules regarding the level or risk and return. They can use this method to measure the excess
return they earned for each unit of risk they take. It is more comparable to the benchmark and other
portfolios with different structure and risk level. Benchmark comparison Equity fund: Zeus s equity

Cloning Individualism
Results May Vary: Adam Phillips s Theory of Cloning and The Paradoxical Apotheosis of
Individualism Adam Phillips s essay Sameness Is All takes the form of a dialogue with two children to
introduce the fantasy of cloning in which everyone is identical. Specifically, Phillips observes that
cloning is a denial of difference and dependence which leads to a refusal of need (92). However,
Phillip remains mindful that such fantasy of physical or psychological sameness is implausible as
everyone is different even clones. One then questions the significance of such wanting of sameness, or
if the sense of sameness serves any purpose. Using the concept of Self and Other that Joanne
Finkelstein examines in The Self as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reader sees that the Self and the Other appear to exist in an obligate symbiotic relationship, where
both the Self and Other are dependent on each other for continued existence, and elucidates the reader
on the interdependency of the Self and Other.
After highlighting the interdependency of the Self and Other, Finkelstein uses this association between
Self and Other to delineate the adverse consequences of this symbiotic relationship. By identifying the
halo effect as a source of social pressure to conform, Finkelstein allows the reader to see Phillip s
theory of cloning as a feasible solution to the inherent issues of social injustice and despair in this
concept:
DeJong and Kleck (1986:66) maintain that...the overweight not only do not have an acceptable
physical appearance but are also perceived as characterologically flawed..the halo effect, which
explains why attractive people are gratuitously assigned other valued attributes, can be seen to work in
reverse for the overweight who are instead attributed with deficits of character. (181)
The halo effect mentioned by DeJong and Kleck refers to individuals being perceived as having
socially desirable personality traits on the basis of desirable physical attributes, and thus gratuitously
assigned other valued attributes. Conversely, an unattractive individual will be perceived as having

The Qualities Of Marine Corps Drill
According to well respected Evangelical pastor and author, Richard Warren, Great leaders inspire.
They maintain a hopeful attitude, even in the face of discouraging setbacks, constant criticism and
abundant opposition. People don t follow discouraged leaders. They follow those who persist with
hope. In every situation, the ultimate purpose of leadership is to influence others to accomplish a
shared goal. In order to be an effective leader, one must possess certain key traits. These traits include:
intelligence, self confidence, determination, integrity, and sociability (trait approach). I am of the firm
belief that some of these characteristics can be learned and developed through human interaction and
experiences. This is contrary to trait theory which states that leaders are born with inherent
characteristics which facilitate leadership (Northouse). In the military, there are specific personality
leadership traits. As highlighted in The Marines documentary, these traits include tact, dependability,
trust, enthusiasm, courage, and loyalty. This paper will discuss the traits of Marine Corps Drill
Instructors and point out how these traits would apply in the civilian workplace. Marine Corps Drill
Instructors exemplifies team, style, authentic, servant and transformational leadership. In the team
leadership model, the leader is able to identify an issue of the team and take the necessary steps to
correct the issue. As stated by Northouse, A team is a specific type of

Essay On 3d Density
The most important goal in gravity interpretation is producing a 3D and clear image of anomaly
resources. One versatile theory for achieving this picture is 3D density contrast distribution from
gravity data. However, we face to uniqueness for solving these inversion problems. For resolving this
issue, an interpreter has to decrees the geometry resolution of an anomaly.
For example, using the Tikhonov regularization (Tikhonov and Arsenian, 1977) has led to the unique
and stable solution, but regardless of producing blur image of an anomaly, this method is focused on
mass varying on the boundary of interpretation region and does not consider the actual depth of
anomaly.
Also, a compact inversion method was presented by Last and ... Show more content on

By this way, Ardestani and Nejati (2011) achieve better image for the 3 D density contrast distribution.
In this paper, to clarify the anomaly, we improve the precision of inversion result, in minimum inertia;
in Ardestani and Nejati (2011) algorithm by
In order to avoid nonuniqueness in inversion, they add some constraints such as geometrical properties
and prior density contrast which are provided by geological information of the studied region. But, in
some areas with complicated geology, it is difficult to trust this information and sometimes may lead
to losing the inversion.
To overcomes these possible problems, we use a linear multiple regression on different models of
improved circular cylinder (Su et al., 2012) to provide prior information in Ardestani and Nejati
(2011) algorithm. Our inversion algorithm is less dependent on geological information and more
flexible with prior information.
In the following, we define the outline of this paper. In section 2, we explain about the method for
constructing the gravity anomaly by using a grid of 3 D rectangular prisms. In section 3, the Lewi
inversion algorithm is discussed, also it is extended with the minimum momentum inertia. In section
4, we introduced the linear inversion based on the inclined cylinder for providing our prior
information. In section 5, the synthetic examples are used to illustrate the results of our inversion
procedure. In section 6, this method is applied to the mining deposits

Essay about Peyote and Native American Culture
Peyote and Native American Culture
Peyote was originally described in 1560, however it was not until the middle of the nineteenth century
that botanists were able to conduct field research and correctly classify the cactus (Anderson, 1980).
Field studies have concluded that there are two distinct populations of peyote which represent two
species. The first and most common, Lophophora williamsii extends from southern Texas reaching
south to the Mexican state of San Luis Potosi. The second and least common of the two species is
Lophophora difusa, which occurs in the dryer terrain of the Mexican state of Queretaro. This species

Also it should be noted that depending on the tribe or group leader, elements of Christianity figure
prominently through the ceremony (www. peyote. net). The majority of the peyotism practiced in the
United States can be identified with the Native American Church (NAC). There are many divisions of
the NAC, and each chapter is composed of several auxiliary chapters or moons, Each chapter has
officers who are trained to carry out the various tasks associated with the peyote ceremony. The most
prominent position is that of Road Chief who is responsible for governing the main elements of the
meeting as well as leading the participants down The Peyote Road or the way of learning to live life
well (www.peyote.net), There are other offices held in the ceremony such as Cedar Man, Fire Man,
Drum Man, and Earth Mother, and while many chapters have their own variances of the ceremony,
many share common ceremonial elements along with the adherence to the practice of avoiding

which eventually lead to the abolishment of peyote from shamanistic ceremony. A lack of harmony

Zebrafish Synthesis
Abstract
Oxygen is essential for human life, but an excess of oxygen could easily become toxic and have an
adverse effects on the mammalian brain due to excessive formation of reactive oxygen species,
commonly known as ROS. In previous studies, changes in hippocampal DNA material have been
observed in validated animal models of PTSD (Chertkow Deutsher, Cohen, Klein, Ben Shachar,
2010). These changes in the genome may very well be the underlying cause of long term traumatic
memories. Previous studies conducted at Texas A M University Commerce used zebrafish as a model
for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), however, the results not only proved that zebrafish show
symptoms of PTSD, but in fact we observed modification in the neural progenitor cells around the
hippocampal area of the zebrafish brain. High concentrations of ROS can be the reason behind the
modification of the neural cells. Therefore, the importance of this study is to investigate the molecular
pathways of ROS in the zebrafish brain. We hypothesize that using an antioxidant, N acetyl L cysteine
(NAC) could reduce the concentrations of trauma induced ROS, which would ultimately prevent the
modifications in the neural progenitor cells in zebrafish.

Analysis Of The Film The Great Gatsby
The role color plays
I also appreciated the way colors are used in each film. The color symbolism is sometimes used
similarly and sometimes used differently.
In Memento, the film uses flashbacks of either color or black white scenes to illustrate the difference
between current actions, and the previous events that build up or lead to those events or actions. These
choices in color also reveal the chronological order of the film, and in that way two versions of the
story are conveyed. The black white part of the film runs chronologically forward, while the color
parts of the film run in reverse order. And both of these color choices, and the time lines they create, at
the end of the film, meet in the middle! That s something unique.
In Eternal Sunshine Joel is a character who wears dull, unexciting colors; so he blends in with large
crowds. He does not stand out at all. In contrast, Clementine s quirkiness is expressed by her colorful
clothing choices, and her changes in hair color. Clementine always stands out.
Clementine s hair color is also a symbolic display of her relationship with Joel, changing from green
to orange, to red, and then to blue. The color green symbolizes new life; Spring, fresh air, green plants,
growth and nature. This represents a fresh start, the beginning of their relationship.
The color red symbolizes their romantic passion. The color orange represents a weak, dying passion, a
dying of love. The color blue represents a mood of sadness

Molecular And Extinction Of Fear Memories Of The Brain...
C. APPROACH: Based on our preliminary data on lncRNA changes in specific regions of the brain
associated with contextual fear, we hypothesize that specific lncRNAs mediate consolidation and
extinction of fear memories. To test this hypothesis, the Puthanveettil and Stackman laboratories will
bring together their strong expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, noncoding RNAs, genetics,
behavioral models, non coding RNAs, bioinformatics and functional, in vivo manipulations of novel
molecular players. We will employ a research strategy that starts with an unbiased, genome wide
analysis of lncRNAs and funnel down to key players, at which point mechanisms of action will be
identified. First, unbiased expression analysis of lncRNAs will be carried out with contextual fear
conditioning following extinction of contextual fear memory. Second, we will then carry out in vivo
manipulation of specific lncRNAs in specific regions of the brain to determine necessity of the
expression of specific lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction of fear memory. We anticipate that our
studies will establish the functional importance of candidate lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction
and provide novel insights into the novel molecular regulators and mechanisms underlying
development of PTSDs. All of the genomics, bioinformatics and rodent behavior analyses will be
carried out locally, at Scripps Florida and FAU, with confocal imaging experiments being performed
across the street at the Max Planck

Extrinsic Observation And Motivation In Education As A...
Being an educator is a very challenging job. The slightest things teachers say or do affect the child s
working ability, independence, and motivation. Children look to adults for approval and guidance so
teachers need to make sure they are practicing certain techniques and phrases to get children less
dependent on their approval but rather more independent on their education. It s important that current
and future educators know what to say to children so that they are pushing themselves to their highest
ability rather than taking the easy way out just to please the teacher and get a sticker. I think that it s
vital that intrinsic rewards are used in the classroom rather than extrinsic. Giving a child a prize or
even saying Good job is most certainly the easier way out for teachers to get children to comply with
the desired behavior or task they want done. Extrinsic rewards are very short term. Though they my
work nicely in the time being they are not going to get the teachers desired results in the future. The
children are going to become heavily dependent on receiving a prize to do expected behavior such as
walking quietly in the halls or listening to their classmates while they are speaking. One extrinsic
reward that can actually undermine a child s sense of pleasure, independence, and interest in school is
saying the phrase Good job. (Kohn, P.3) When children are constantly receiving those two words for
every assignment they complete or every action they do

The Importance Of Energy Power
Every country has to decide what type of energy it wants to use in order to generate the power that is
needed for the industrialization and for use by the citizens of the country. There are many factors that
impact that decision. Each energy source has an impact physically, politically and economically on the
given country. These conditions are what helps to sway the decision of the political leaders to pick
which of the sources they want to use. Some of different resources that a country can use are coal (non
renewable), nuclear energy (non renewable), natural gas (non renewable), oil (non renewable), and
hydroelectricity (renewable), and solar energy (renewable). Most of these resources are being used by
countries all around the world. The decision as to how best to power their country is based on many
factors. China is a perfect example of how different factors can affect the decisions. China has decided
to try and change their energy usage to renewable power. One source they have considered is
hydroelectricity. One limitation of hydroelectricity is that it can only be used in locations that have
enough water to keep flowing. Another source that china has been considering is solar power. There
are also limitations with solar power. Solar energy can only be collected in a location that gets enough
sun. Also, the solar panels take up land, and China does not have sufficient empty land because of
overpopulation. Other resources are dependent on where the reserves are

Starbucks Fixed Cost
In regards to the company Starbucks, their cost of production includes the cost of coffee beans, milk,
plastic products, advertising, rent and labor. When thinking about the high price of Starbucks coffee
customers should consider the cost of what goes into the coffee, Howard Schultz said I am concerned
about dairy, both domestically and around the world, and we are working feverishly with our
suppliers, (and to) identify new suppliers (Thomnson, R. 2014). When it comes to the price of coffee,
prices recently hit a two year high due to crop damaging drought in Brazil, the top producer
(Thomnson, R. 2014). This has a huge impact on the price consumers pay for their coffee.
The determinants of Starbucks profitability over time are variable costs and fixed costs. A variable
cost is a cost that change in direct proportion to a change in the level of activity (Pearson, 2016) .
Variable costs for Starbucks would include labor, coffee beans, dairy, and plastic products. A fixed
cost is indirect costs of business expenses that remain unchanged (Pearson, 2016). Fixed costs for
Starbucks include rent, taxes, and insurance as well as advertising. In the figure below (fig 1) we have
Starbucks financial data in millions for the year of 2015. This figure includes their operating expenses,
net revenues, such as company operated stores, licensed stores, CPG, food service. It also includes

Distracted Driving Argument Paper
Abstract
Advancing technology in wireless communications is presenting a growing concern for distracted
driving due to using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Although distracted
driving accidents and fatalities have risen in the last decade, placing a ban on the use of a cell phone or
other electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle as some states have will not resolve the issue.
In fact a ban on cell phones and driving may very well increase the accident and fatality rate because
drivers are now more involved with concealing their illegal behaviors. More citizen participation and
drivers safety management should be more carefully considered in a transpiring situation such as this.
More Americans should be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Visual distraction of this nature is anything that requires the driver to take his or her eyes away from
the road. Manual distraction involves the driver removing his or her hands from the steering wheel.
Cognitive distraction forces the driver to think about something other than driving safely (Goldfarb,
2010). These skills are critical when safely operating a motor vehicle that requires concentration,
coordination, and prompt, immediate responses to sensory input.
Studies conducted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the AAA
Foundation for Traffic Safety shows that using a cell phone while driving significantly impairs a
driver s reaction time and triples the risk of being involved in a crash or near crash, and text
messaging increases crash risk by a multiple of 8 for all ages (NHTSA, 2009). Situational awareness
is significantly decreased while engaging in distracted driving, and in turn inattention blindness is
increased drastically creating a potentially deadly situation on the roads. A driver who is multitasking
has less brain function available and thus literally fails to see or pay attention to things that are
squarely in the field of vision (Texting and Driving, 2010). On the other hand there are those that may
be able to multitask successfully though the challenge is

Pros And Cons Of E-Learning
E learning
E learning is a new field of learning based on technologies that emerged in last few decades. The
number of learners who use e learning is increasing and become larger than before. This article shows
an overview of e learning , pros , and cons of using it.
Definition of e learning e learning defined as learning utilizing electronic technologies to access
educational curriculum outside of a traditional classroom (what is learning?, n.d ). Another definition
is is an umbrella term that describes education using electronic devices and digital media (E learning,
November, 5, 2015). The letter e refers to electronic , Luskin (2001) explains e as exciting, energetic,
emotional, and educational..
History of e learning
The term e learning has been used frequently since the development of internet in late of 20th century,
distance courses has been offered by educational institutions and academies for learners who want to
learn specific subjects and skills or for those who prefer e learning due to their real life circumstances.
In 1984, the first software MAC give people opportunity for individuals to have computers in their
homes and establish easier learning through online. Also, by the year of 2000 , many of companies
and institutions used e learning to train and improve their employees to gain basics to be suitable for
their jobs. Tools for successful e learning such as internet, computers , and laptops become widespread
around the world (Gogos,2014). Approaches of e learning
Synchronous learning
Learning and teaching process occurs at the same time, the trainer and learners interact with each
other and share the ideas, details, and solutions during the session while they are physically separated
from place shift . There are many examples of synchronous learning such as virtual classroom,
audio/video conferencing, online lectures, listening to a live radio broadcast, and two way live satellite
broadcast .( Yakaraju G ,2014)
Desynchronous learning
The main distinction between synchronous learning and this approach is that no interaction between
trainer and learners because learning and teaching process occurs in separated times (not at the same

The Rhetorical Analysis Of The Prince By Niscali Niccoli
Full RA_The Prince Back in the monarchy day, where an entire nation is rule by a person, either a
King or a Queen. People assuming that every single ruler have to be kind and set a good example to
their people. However, in the four excerpt of the Prince , written by Machiavelli Niccolo, a diplomat
and political theorist, to send a message to Lorenzo de Medicito on how to be a successful prince.
Machiavelli express in an understand tone that to be a good ruler it is necessary to be both evil and
good by using a compound complex sentence with negative adjectives, reality example and visuality
imagery.
Machiavelli uses a compound complex sentence to inform those who want to be a leader the need of
malevolent. Machiavelli uses an independent and dependent clause to gain attention from audience
with the purpose of clearing his idea. For Machiavelli s long sentences in the end of the first
paragraph, the prince profession of virtue will get destroyed by other evil. This cause and effect
sentence help the audience to have an images of the impossible of a perfect pure personality of a
leader. He warn those who want to be a leader that the prince should be wise and knowing when to act
evil rather than good. Moreover, he lists good and bad adjectives such as cruel and compassionate to
imply that a good ruler need to be both moral and immoral. .After all the conventional moral advice,
he convey to the prince that action that appear good will damage his position, prince s power, while
those that depict as bad will enhance it.
After teasing the audience with the unexpected real truth with the necessity of evil act to be able to be
a right ruler. Machiavelli go deep in and focus on discussing of the virtue liberality , generosity by
using reality images. He believed that a reputation for generosity is desirable, but can be very
dangerous to acquire. Machiavelli state that the prince can t afford to be generous by tax his people
but if he gives his own property he will be poor or hatred. Which make the audience feel
uncomfortable because the tax images illustrate how hard it is to be a generous leader. A display that
the prince being mean as the same time as liberal ,generosity rule properly.

Improving the ISO Rating of the Council Bluffs (IA) Fire Department
Introduction
In 2012, Insurance Services Office (ISO) conducted a review of the fire suppression capabilities of the
Council Bluffs (IA) Fire Department (CBFD). The resulting Public Protection Classification (PPC)
was a Class 2. This classification puts the CBFD into the top 1% of the approximately 49,000 fire
departments ISO reviews. In an effort to maintain the highest level of service to the public, the current
fire administration has established an organizational goal of achieving a Class 1 designation. The
problem is that the CBFD has not developed a comprehensive plan to improve the department ISO

Background and Significance The Council Bluffs (IA) Fire Department was formed on January 5,
1883 by resolution of the city council to establish a full time, paid department. Prior to 1883, the
citizens of Council Bluffs had been protected from fire by several different volunteer fire companies.
The first such company, known as Hook Ladder 1, was formed after a conflagration destroyed most of
the town on November 14, 1854 (Petersen, 1992). Between 1854 and 1883, the department grew in
size, purchasing steam pumpers in 1868 and 1880. The city grew as well, expanding from a population
of 2,011 in 1860 to 18,063 in 1880. In 1918, the firemen of the CBFD organized and became a charter
member of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Local 15. This is an affiliation that
the labor force of the CBFD still maintains today. On April 5, 1920, the CBFD began a two platoon
system with day and night shifts. Ten new firemen were hired bringing the total staffing to 36 men
working out of five stations. As the city continued to grow the fire department updated and broadened
the footprint of its fire stations. In 1942, a new Fire Station 2 was built

The Culture Of Kearney, Nebraska
The Culture of Kearney
Kearney, Nebraska is a community in south central Nebraska. The self proclaimed Sand Hill Crane
Capital of the World is regionally known for the Sand Hill Crane population that follows the Platte
River during migration, as well as the many trails throughout the community ( Kearney Visitors
Bureau, 2013). This author sought to discover the culture of Kearney on a short day trip to the area. A
drive around the community, a walk through the downtown area, and a quick perusal of the local
telephone book garnered a great deal of information. Initially, Kearney does not seem to have much
diversity, but upon closer examination, a great deal can be learned about the culture of rural
communities.
Demographics
Kearney is a town of just over 30,000 people, ranking as the fifth largest community in Nebraska.
According to the United States Census Bureau, Kearney is a growing community, with growth of
4.5% between 2010 and 2013. The population of Kearney is predominantly white, with only 7%
Hispanic population and 1% African American. The heritage of this community consists primarily of
German, Norwegian, and Irish ancestry. The percentage of males and females is evenly split ( United
States Census Bureau, 2015). The majority of citizens are either Protestant or Catholic ( Kearney,
Nebraska, n.d.). The median household income is $46,282, with 16% living below the federal poverty
level ( United States Census Bureau, 2015).

The Power Of Dance
The Power of Dance
Dance has been a natural movement form since the beginning of time. The origin of dance is
unknown, just as the knowledge of the benefits of dance are unknown to many in our society. Many
people do not enjoy dancing and also do not fully understand the positive benefits that come from
dancing. Researchers such as Edwards, Duberg, and many more have found countless mental and
emotional benefits of dance that originate from movement patterns, brain connections, and even
expressions of emotion. Many are aware of the physical benefits of dance, but beyond the physical
benefits of dance, there are also emotional and mental benefits that come from dance as well.
This paper explores my main question, how does movement through dance affect the mental and
emotional dimensions of wellness? I will explore the many unknown benefits that come from dance as
well as share expressions of my personal thoughts on the subject. I will also share my personal
experiences as well as others experiences with dance. In the research portion of my paper, I will cite
studies supporting both the mental and emotional benefits of dance. This paper will also explore the
perspective of a professor of dance, as well as the lived experiences of actual dance students. My
interview will support my paper as it reinforces the findings in literature. I will discuss my future
plans on the subject of mental and emotional dance; stressing the need for individuals to dance as the

somewhat larger than the nominal value, suggesting that the length measurement uncertainty was

when producing structural steel in transverse direction, whereby the actual thickness was on average
9.8% larger than the nominal value, as compared with an average of 5.6% larger in longitudinal
direction, for IPE360 profile. However, as the calculated values for tensile properties, presented in the

and transverse orientation, respectively. The mean of transverse specimen in this study is higher than
longitudinal value, although the difference is small (2%). For the coefficient of variance found 0.024,
which corresponds to a standard deviation of 4.81 GPa, which is summarized in Tab. 3. The specimen
ID1 and ID3, which have different gauge lengths, widths and thickness and strain rate, are almost the

The Hebrew Bible, By Marc Zvi Brettler
How To Read The Jewish Bible, authored by Biblical scholar, and professor, Marc Zvi Brettler, is an
enlightening text, guiding people towards studying the Hebrew Scriptures purposefully. Brettler
(2005) reveals his book provides a response to the frustration many readers hold towards the Hebrew
Bible, with the conventional tendency of filtering it through the lens of present day culture. Generally,
he argues, as a result, this leads one to misconstrue passages or arrive at the definitive conclusion the
Bible holds no relevant value within our contemporary era and therefore, should collect dust.

5).
Brettler s goal of guiding readers toward an appreciation and understanding of the purpose in utilizing
the historical critical study practice is well laid out as a foundation to the book. By prioritizing the first
four chapters as he did, Brettler sets the tone of how one should survey the Scriptures for the greatest
illumination. From the start, he outlines what the historical critical method is in theory and practice,
which dispels the assumption every reader holds a familiarity with it. Clarity comes alongside the
resolution that applying the historical critical method to the Scriptures does not set out to destroy the
Hebrew Bible s importance. Rather it lends an unbiased avenue to read these religious texts in a
compelling way, bringing understanding in a multifaceted fashion as opposed to one dimensional,
conclusive outcomes.
Approaching the Scriptures from a Jewish viewpoint, as discussed in class, is well supported in
Brettler s book. Through his preparatory teaching on what the Hebrew Bible in itself is, and how one
should read it, a ground is laid. Explaining the difference between the Christian Bible and Hebrew
Bible is a vital inclusion. The Christian Bible passages, called the Old Testament, are read with the
belief that they lead into the New Testament. The Hebrew Bible does contain a New Testament, so one
would not read it within the same frame of reference.

Sequestration In Urban Areas
As a result of urbanization and population growth, how urban areas and planned and orientated
towards climate change adaptation and mitigation is becoming more important. As urban areas
accommodate more and more people in increasingly higher densities, so too will the carbon emission
of the urban area be increased. There should, therefore, be a balanced between carbon emissions and
carbon sequestration within urban environments.
Often public open spaces and road reserves serve to be nothing more than an illegal dump site for
human waste. Local authorities also experience public open spaces as a financial burden and capacity
constraint due to the maintenance required for those spaces. Undervalued public open spaces have
seemingly very little benefit to residents of the study area, and is therefore under pressure to be made
available for urban development.
A recent newspaper article stated that approximately 50% of the green gas emissions in the Britain are

Why Do Homo Sapiens Survive
Surviving with Adaptability
There are roughly two hundred species on earth going extinct every day, with thousands more entering

100,000 years now (FAQ). With over 7.4 billion living in the world today, it is hard to say that Homo
sapiens haven t been a successful species (Current). Clearly, some trait we possess has allowed us to
maintain our presence at the top of the food chain and survive the tests of time. The mandatory ability
to adapt and the willingness to change are key characteristics for someone to survive and thrive

New things become popular while others die out. Modern day technology has become one of the
largest industries in the 21st century and as H. Sapiens continue to invent new gadgets and equipment
to assist in everyday life, we are ultimately adapting by making things easier. The use of cars and
automobiles has allowed us to transport items significantly faster than we were previously able to.
Very similar to that, the use of electricity has enabled a multitude of items with a single common
result; making our lives simpler. It is hard to imagine life without these two technological advances.
Neanderthals proved that a life like this was capable, but much more difficult as their techniques
required more manual labor. Generally speaking, these improvements were provoked by our ability to
adapt and our openness to change. The evolution of the human, and more specifically the mental
aspect of them, has enabled us to thrive in this world. The human race has predicated itself as being
the alpha male in the animal kingdom and we have accomplished this feat by modifying our lives and
environments to fit the circumstances placed before us. In order to remain at the top of the chart and
survive through time, humans must continue to possess the trait of adaptability. Homo sapiens have

is because of climate change. Climate change affects the Northern Correboree Frog because it was

make one of the popular breeding habitats (edges of bog pools) very saturated and dry, which makes it
hard for the frogs to breed.

Water Quality Of The Mine Drainage Running Into The Afon...
Treatment Plan The number of problems related to the water quality of the mine drainage running into
the Afon Goch North has meant that any remediation system must be multi staged. Furthermore, the
unique characteristics of the mine and the heavily polluted water requires an exclusive method of
mediation. The treatment system outlined uses passive systems that require relatively little

being produced.
Extending the Mine Adit Initially, the hillside needs to be excavated along the mine adit. An area of
approximately ***** m along the mine adit needs to be removed. This will allow further room to
construct the treatment system. Furthermore, the adit needs to be diverted from the path of the Afon

requiring various methods of extraction in order to purify water. As each mine setting is unique it is
often necessary to develop a system original to the site, as is the case at Parys Mountain. Figure *
shows the pathway of the mine drainage before eventually running off into the Afon Goch North. As
the water exits the mine with a pH below 2 and a near reducing condition, a peat biofilter will work
effectively to remove metals from solution. As the water travels through the

My Identity, Status And My Worldview
Different personality, believes, identity and behavior makes a person unique. Identity is one s self
representation in the world. Who I am, really makes up my identity. Personal traits make me appear
towards the world. My worldview incorporates of different concepts and suppositions. It helps to
decode my issues in my life. As I continue to evolve, my identity, status and my worldview shape me.
My family and my faith status makes my life worthwhile. It s the love and relationship that keeps me
bounded together with my family. Without a family I am absolutely nothing because they have helped
me through hard times and supported me. As being the oldest child of the family I was always
appreciated and praised for doing remarkable things in my daily life. In grade 8, I had final exams and
during that period of time I was sick with high fever. I was not in a state to prepare for the exams
which caused hopelessness and stress, although my parents supported me and encouraged me to write
the exam on the bases of the things I have learned the entire year. Their brace made me successful and
I got straight A s on the exams. Family status is as important in life as eating food on regular bases.
My family is always ready to support and sacrifice their happiness for me. They complete my world,
thus it makes me confined to my family status. In addition to family status, which makes up most of
my status and identity is my faith status. Inner faith makes me enthusiastic towards life. Just the

The Social Issue Of African American Population And How...
Choice of Social Issue
The social issue that I will be addressing is the African American population and how they endured
being enslaved also detailing the discrimination and segregation parameters that also came along with
this atrocity of enslavement. Although this social issue wasn t one that was addressed in the course, I
believe it is an essential matter that has helped shaped America and the individuals who reside here
both past and present. This act has shaped the economy, the policies, and the government in regards to
how they choose to address situations and fix them as well. The individuals of the community, activist
and advocates began to express their thoughts and feelings on the matter, in which others strongly
agreed eventually a social movement derived from these efforts and it was named the Abolitionist
movement. The Abolitionist movement began in the 1830s and lasted until 1870, in which the focus of
this movement was to immediately emancipate slaves, also placing emphasis on the ending of racial
segregation and discrimination that was prevalent among society. This social movement targeted
society as a whole and the type of change it wanted to initiate was radical, in which it would be
classified as a revolutionary movement. Abolitionism was not an issue that could be surpassed decade
after decade due to how many individuals it affected, whom also wanted the dynamics to change
within the economy as well as the different communities throughout America with

The United States Congress Passed The Kansas Nebraska Act
n 1854, the U.S. Congress passed the Kansas Nebraska Act, which basically opened all new domains
to servitude by declaring the guideline of well known sway over congressional decree. Master and
abolitionist servitude strengths battled viciously in Draining Kansas, while resistance to the
demonstration in the North prompted the development of the Republican Party, another political
substance in light of the standard of restricting subjection s expansion into the western domains. After
the Supreme Court s decision in the Dred Scott case (1857) affirmed the lawfulness of subjugation in
the regions, the abolitionist John Brown s attack at Harper s Ferry in 1859 persuaded increasingly
southerners that their northern neighbors were twisted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beauregard. Four more southern states Virginia, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee joined the
Confederacy after Fort Sumter. Outskirt slave states like Missouri, Kentucky and Maryland did not
withdraw, but rather there was much Confederate sensitivity among their nationals. In spite of the fact
that at first glance the Civil War may have appeared an unbalanced clash, with the 23 conditions of the
Union getting a charge out of a gigantic point of preference in populace, fabricating (counting arms
creation) and railroad development, the Confederates had a solid military convention, alongside a
portion of the best officers and commandants in the country. They likewise had a cause they trusted in:
safeguarding their long held customs and foundations, boss among these being subjection. In the First
Battle of Bull Run (referred to in the South as First Manassas) on July 21, 1861, 35,000 Confederate
fighters under the order of Thomas Jonathan Stonewall Jackson constrained a more noteworthy
number of Union powers (or Federals) to withdraw towards Washington, D.C., dashing any trusts of a
speedy Union triumph and driving Lincoln to call for 500,000 more enlists. Indeed, both sides
underlying call for troops must be broadened after it turned out to be clear that the war would not be a
constrained or short clash. The Civil War in Virginia (1862) George B. McClellan who supplanted the
maturing General Winfield Scott as

Should I Be An Avid Concert Goer And All Around Explorer
Growing up as a wanderess, one would think that I would have mastered the art of clubbing. However,
that couldn t be any further than the truth. While I might be an avid concert goer and all around
explorer, why would I ever engage in clubbing? I don t drink and the thought of standing in a dark
room with strangers with no purpose seemed odd to me. Truthfully, the closest I have ever had to a
club like experience would be the horrific house party of 12. Needless to say, that was enough to
cement my belief that it would be unenjoyable. Sitting around Friday afternoon with no plans yet set
in stone, suggesting that we go out for girls night later that evening via group chat seemed perfectly
normal. Bouncing ideas off each other, I brought up the idea of wanting to check out a club.
Apparently that caught everyone off guard; instantly the conversation died and I was greeted with
several phone calls asking whether or not I was okay and how long I had left .
Anyone who knows me knows that while I may love concerts I simply view clubbing as Prom minus
chaperones. If you could not tell, I was not fond of the idea of prom either and so opted out. It is not
that I am prude of any sort but what is the point of spending hours in line just to enter a dark room
only to be grinded on and groped by strangers?
Once I thoroughly reassured everyone that I was in my right state of mind, preparations for that
evening began. Frankly speaking I never realized how much time and

Chinese Immigration To Canada Research Paper
The Story of Chinese Immigration to Canada
Immigration laws have resulted in a situation where many Chinese immigrants live and work in
Canada, but it is also an issue that has been blown out of proportion by the media and politicians.
Chinese immigrants have cost Canadian s job, and many resources set aside for the Canadian
population. Due to the minor changes to laws, border restrictions, and the implementation of new
laws, the Canadian government will be able to control the Chinese immigration population.
Historical Introduction The year 1858 denoted the beginning of progressing Chinese movement to the
districts of British North America; that movement would later shape the present day Canada. In the
east were the settlements of New Brunswick, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Permanent residents and all citizens are entitled to free education until the age of 20. The average cost
of a house in Canada ranges from $275,000 $310,000 making it one of the most expensive locations to
live. Yellowknife, a capital city and the largest community of the Northwest Territories, have houses
priced at around 50 percent lower outside of the city. The average yearly income for Canadians is
approximately $45,000. The minimum wage is $10/hour; at which bonuses are offered to entice
workers in the Northwestern area (Campbell Cohen Lawyers of Canada, 2015).
Early Job History
During the 19th century, British Columbia earned its wealth from the export of resources such as coal,
gold, and salmon (Library and Archives Canada, 2009). The exports were transported to different parts
of America and Europe (Library and Archives Canada, 2009). During the 20th century, the British
used the railways to transport goods. At this time it was not as important to build houses as Chinese
immigrant miners would constantly relocate. Prairies, a region in western Canada, was the desired
destination for Chinese immigrants at the time (Library and Archives Canada, 2009).

The Great Hall Of The People The Great Hall of the People was executed after the chaos of the wars as well as the initial success of the industrialization, and it was a crowning work in the Tian anmen Square. It is as if in the historical context of the German Expressionist architecture as the total work of art with an intention to generate civil unity through erections of interactive, multi functional structures (also, the Alpine architecture). The political structure of China remains unchanged, but the chief governing program shifted from class struggle (jieji douzheng 阶级斗争) to economic construction (jingji jianshe 经济建设). The economic boom enhances materialism and individualism, and endangers the spiritual realm of China. • 3. A Brief Note On Coronary Heart Disease ( Chd ) Introduction Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is the obstruction of blood vessels that supply the heart muscle, due to the deposition of lipid material [1]. Figure 1 illustrates various modifiable and non modifiable risk factors, influencing the prevalence of CHD within Australians. Figure 1: Modifiable and non modifiable risk factors affecting the prevalence of Coronary Heart Disease in Australia [19] Modifiable Risk Factors Non Modifiable Risk Factors Obesity Increasing age Hyperlipidemia Gender Excessive alcohol and tobacco use Family history Psychological stress Heredity Prevalence of CHD over the past century As shown in Figure 2 (Page 2), the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) observed a 73% decrease in mortality caused by CHD, between 1968 and 2011 [2]. More specifically, the decline in the mortality rate occurred in the late 1960s, where these changes were most evidence in males and females aged 55 64 and 65 74 years respectively [21]. As shown in Figure 3 and 4 (Page 2), the mortality rate in men aged 35 44 and 45 54 years declined at a decreasing rate, in contrast to older men where the mortality rate had increased [21]. In women however, the rate of overall decline had only been hindered in the 45 54 age category, as opposed to increasing in older age groups [21]. Thus, over the past century, mortality rates have generally declined [2]. Although, this rate of decline is gradually improving in older populations and deteriorating in younger ... • 5. Women Go Into Leadership Title: Women go into leadership female style or male style? The Pitch: The debate about the difference in leadership style of women and men continues to attract attention since women make strides into leadership position dominated mainly by men. Men have long been holding these leadership roles and have defined styles accepted by people. Therefore, it is not surprising that women are usual the focus in terms of the discussion on gender difference in leadership styles. There seems to be great disagreement about the behaviour of women and men actually performing such roles (Eagly, 2001). This disagreement on this focus can be divided into two groups. Based on Eagly and Johannesen Schmidt theory, female and male forms of leadership and empowerment seem to be different. Communal and transformational characteristics are more presented by women than men. So some women exhibited an open and participatory leadership style. Additionally, women are perceived to work harder and take their work more seriously, and women are less concern with salary than the recognition of a good done of job (Alvesson, 2009). Frost did write a different copy dealing with his fear of a second world war because he thought that might be the end of humanity. He only gave the original to people he trusted but released this copy to the world instead. although the original poem is about the world ending this version is about losing something new and good so it becomes a story which makes it a narrative. • 11. The Qualities Of Marine Corps Drill According to well respected Evangelical pastor and author, Richard Warren, Great leaders inspire. They maintain a hopeful attitude, even in the face of discouraging setbacks, constant criticism and abundant opposition. People don t follow discouraged leaders. They follow those who persist with hope. In every situation, the ultimate purpose of leadership is to influence others to accomplish a shared goal. In order to be an effective leader, one must possess certain key traits. These traits include: intelligence, self confidence, determination, integrity, and sociability (trait approach). I am of the firm belief that some of these characteristics can be learned and developed through human interaction and experiences. This is contrary to trait theory which states that leaders are born with inherent characteristics which facilitate leadership (Northouse). In the military, there are specific personality leadership traits. As highlighted in The Marines documentary, these traits include tact, dependability, trust, enthusiasm, courage, and loyalty. This paper will discuss the traits of Marine Corps Drill Instructors and point out how these traits would apply in the civilian workplace. One versatile theory for achieving this picture is 3D density contrast distribution from gravity data. However, we face to uniqueness for solving these inversion problems. For resolving this issue, an interpreter has to decrees the geometry resolution of an anomaly. For example, using the Tikhonov regularization (Tikhonov and Arsenian, 1977) has led to the unique and stable solution, but regardless of producing blur image of an anomaly, this method is focused on mass varying on the boundary of interpretation region and does not consider the actual depth of anomaly. But, in some areas with complicated geology, it is difficult to trust this information and sometimes may lead to losing the inversion. • 16. Zebrafish Synthesis Abstract Oxygen is essential for human life, but an excess of oxygen could easily become toxic and have an adverse effects on the mammalian brain due to excessive formation of reactive oxygen species, commonly known as ROS. In previous studies, changes in hippocampal DNA material have been observed in validated animal models of PTSD (Chertkow Deutsher, Cohen, Klein, Ben Shachar, 2010). These changes in the genome may very well be the underlying cause of long term traumatic memories. Previous studies conducted at Texas A M University Commerce used zebrafish as a model for post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), however, the results not only proved that zebrafish show symptoms of PTSD, but in fact we observed modification in the neural progenitor cells around the hippocampal area of the zebrafish brain. High concentrations of ROS can be the reason behind the modification of the neural cells. Therefore, the importance of this study is to investigate the molecular pathways of ROS in the zebrafish brain. • 18. Analysis Of The Film The Great Gatsby The role color plays I also appreciated the way colors are used in each film. The color symbolism is sometimes used similarly and sometimes used differently. In Memento, the film uses flashbacks of either color or black white scenes to illustrate the difference between current actions, and the previous events that build up or lead to those events or actions. These choices in color also reveal the chronological order of the film, and in that way two versions of the story are conveyed. The black white part of the film runs chronologically forward, while the color parts of the film run in reverse order. And both of these color choices, and the time lines they create, at the end of the film, meet in the middle! That s something unique. In Eternal Sunshine Joel is a character who wears dull, unexciting colors; so he blends in with large crowds. He does not stand out at all. In contrast, Clementine s quirkiness is expressed by her colorful clothing choices, and her changes in hair color. Clementine always stands out. Clementine s hair color is also a symbolic display of her relationship with Joel, changing from green to orange, to red, and then to blue. The color green symbolizes new life; Spring, fresh air, green plants, growth and nature. This represents a fresh start, the beginning of their relationship. • 21. Molecular And Extinction Of Fear Memories Of The Brain... C. APPROACH: Based on our preliminary data on lncRNA changes in specific regions of the brain associated with contextual fear, we hypothesize that specific lncRNAs mediate consolidation and extinction of fear memories. To test this hypothesis, the Puthanveettil and Stackman laboratories will bring together their strong expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, noncoding RNAs, genetics, behavioral models, non coding RNAs, bioinformatics and functional, in vivo manipulations of novel molecular players. We will employ a research strategy that starts with an unbiased, genome wide analysis of lncRNAs and funnel down to key players, at which point mechanisms of action will be identified. First, unbiased expression analysis of lncRNAs will be carried out with contextual fear conditioning following extinction of contextual fear memory. Second, we will then carry out in vivo manipulation of specific lncRNAs in specific regions of the brain to determine necessity of the expression of specific lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction of fear memory. We anticipate that our studies will establish the functional importance of candidate lncRNAs in consolidation and extinction and provide novel insights into the novel molecular regulators and mechanisms underlying development of PTSDs. All of the genomics, bioinformatics and rodent behavior analyses will be carried out locally, at Scripps Florida and FAU, with confocal imaging experiments being performed across the street at the Max Planck ... • 22. Extrinsic Observation And Motivation In Education As A... Being an educator is a very challenging job. The slightest things teachers say or do affect the child s working ability, independence, and motivation. Children look to adults for approval and guidance so teachers need to make sure they are practicing certain techniques and phrases to get children less dependent on their approval but rather more independent on their education. It s important that current and future educators know what to say to children so that they are pushing themselves to their highest ability rather than taking the easy way out just to please the teacher and get a sticker. I think that it s vital that intrinsic rewards are used in the classroom rather than extrinsic. Giving a child a prize or even saying Good job is most certainly the easier way out for teachers to get children to comply with the desired behavior or task they want done. Extrinsic rewards are very short term. Though they my work nicely in the time being they are not going to get the teachers desired results in the future. The children are going to become heavily dependent on receiving a prize to do expected behavior such as walking quietly in the halls or listening to their classmates while they are speaking. One extrinsic reward that can actually undermine a child s sense of pleasure, independence, and interest in school is saying the phrase Good job. • 23. The Importance Of Energy Power Every country has to decide what type of energy it wants to use in order to generate the power that is needed for the industrialization and for use by the citizens of the country. There are many factors that impact that decision. Each energy source has an impact physically, politically and economically on the given country. These conditions are what helps to sway the decision of the political leaders to pick which of the sources they want to use. Some of different resources that a country can use are coal (non renewable), nuclear energy (non renewable), natural gas (non renewable), oil (non renewable), and hydroelectricity (renewable), and solar energy (renewable). Most of these resources are being used by countries all around the world. The decision as to how best to power their country is based on many factors. China is a perfect example of how different factors can affect the decisions. China has decided to try and change their energy usage to renewable power. One source they have considered is hydroelectricity. One limitation of hydroelectricity is that it can only be used in locations that have enough water to keep flowing. Another source that china has been considering is solar power. There are also limitations with solar power. Solar energy can only be collected in a location that gets enough sun. Also, the solar panels take up land, and China does not have sufficient empty land because of overpopulation. Other resources are dependent on where the reserves are ... When thinking about the high price of Starbucks coffee customers should consider the cost of what goes into the coffee, Howard Schultz said I am concerned about dairy, both domestically and around the world, and we are working feverishly with our suppliers, (and to) identify new suppliers (Thomnson, R. 2014). When it comes to the price of coffee, prices recently hit a two year high due to crop damaging drought in Brazil, the top producer (Thomnson, R. 2014). This has a huge impact on the price consumers pay for their coffee. The determinants of Starbucks profitability over time are variable costs and fixed costs. A variable cost is a cost that change in direct proportion to a change in the level of activity (Pearson, 2016) . Variable costs for Starbucks would include labor, coffee beans, dairy, and plastic products. A fixed cost is indirect costs of business expenses that remain unchanged (Pearson, 2016). Fixed costs for Starbucks include rent, taxes, and insurance as well as advertising. In the figure below (fig 1) we have Starbucks financial data in millions for the year of 2015. Distracted Driving Argument Paper Abstract Advancing technology in wireless communications is presenting a growing concern for distracted driving due to using cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. Although distracted driving accidents and fatalities have risen in the last decade, placing a ban on the use of a cell phone or other electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle as some states have will not resolve the issue. In fact a ban on cell phones and driving may very well increase the accident and fatality rate because drivers are now more involved with concealing their illegal behaviors. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Visual distraction of this nature is anything that requires the driver to take his or her eyes away from the road. Manual distraction involves the driver removing his or her hands from the steering wheel. Cognitive distraction forces the driver to think about something other than driving safely (Goldfarb, 2010). These skills are critical when safely operating a motor vehicle that requires concentration, coordination, and prompt, immediate responses to sensory input. Studies conducted from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety shows that using a cell phone while driving significantly impairs a driver s reaction time and triples the risk of being involved in a crash or near crash, and text messaging increases crash risk by a multiple of 8 for all ages (NHTSA, 2009). Situational awareness is significantly decreased while engaging in distracted driving, and in turn inattention blindness is increased drastically creating a potentially deadly situation on the roads. A driver who is multitasking has less brain function available and thus literally fails to see or pay attention to things that are squarely in the field of vision (Texting and Driving, 2010). Prior to 1883, the citizens of Council Bluffs had been protected from fire by several different volunteer fire companies. The first such company, known as Hook Ladder 1, was formed after a conflagration destroyed most of the town on November 14, 1854 (Petersen, 1992). Between 1854 and 1883, the department grew in size, purchasing steam pumpers in 1868 and 1880. The city grew as well, expanding from a population of 2,011 in 1860 to 18,063 in 1880. In 1918, the firemen of the CBFD organized and became a charter member of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF), Local 15. This is an affiliation that the labor force of the CBFD still maintains today. On April 5, 1920, the CBFD began a two platoon system with day and night shifts. The mean of transverse specimen in this study is higher than longitudinal value, although the difference is small (2%). For the coefficient of variance found 0.024, which corresponds to a standard deviation of 4.81 GPa, which is summarized in Tab. 3. The specimen ID1 and ID3, which have different gauge lengths, widths and thickness and strain rate, are almost the same indicating that the gauge length may not have an effect on modulus, which is clearly shown in Fig. 6 and Tab. 3. From the start, he outlines what the historical critical method is in theory and practice, which dispels the assumption every reader holds a familiarity with it. Clarity comes alongside the resolution that applying the historical critical method to the Scriptures does not set out to destroy the Hebrew Bible s importance. Rather it lends an unbiased avenue to read these religious texts in a compelling way, bringing understanding in a multifaceted fashion as opposed to one dimensional, conclusive outcomes. Approaching the Scriptures from a Jewish viewpoint, as discussed in class, is well supported in Brettler s book. As being the oldest child of the family I was always appreciated and praised for doing remarkable things in my daily life. In grade 8, I had final exams and during that period of time I was sick with high fever. I was not in a state to prepare for the exams which caused hopelessness and stress, although my parents supported me and encouraged me to write the exam on the bases of the things I have learned the entire year. Their brace made me successful and I got straight A s on the exams. Family status is as important in life as eating food on regular bases. My family is always ready to support and sacrifice their happiness for me. They complete my world, thus it makes me confined to my family status. In addition to family status, which makes up most of my status and identity is my faith status. Inner faith makes me enthusiastic towards life. Just the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Choice of Social Issue The social issue that I will be addressing is the African American population and how they endured being enslaved also detailing the discrimination and segregation parameters that also came along with this atrocity of enslavement. Although this social issue wasn t one that was addressed in the course, I believe it is an essential matter that has helped shaped America and the individuals who reside here both past and present. This act has shaped the economy, the policies, and the government in regards to how they choose to address situations and fix them as well. The individuals of the community, activist and advocates began to express their thoughts and feelings on the matter, in which others strongly agreed eventually a social movement derived from these efforts and it was named the Abolitionist movement. The Abolitionist movement began in the 1830s and lasted until 1870, in which the focus of this movement was to immediately emancipate slaves, also placing emphasis on the ending of racial segregation and discrimination that was prevalent among society. This social movement targeted society as a whole and the type of change it wanted to initiate was radical, in which it would be classified as a revolutionary movement. Abolitionism was not an issue that could be surpassed decade after decade due to how many individuals it affected, whom also wanted the dynamics to change within the economy as well as the different communities throughout America with ... • 43. Should I Be An Avid Concert Goer And All Around Explorer Growing up as a wanderess, one would think that I would have mastered the art of clubbing. However, that couldn t be any further than the truth. While I might be an avid concert goer and all around explorer, why would I ever engage in clubbing? I don t drink and the thought of standing in a dark room with strangers with no purpose seemed odd to me. Truthfully, the closest I have ever had to a club like experience would be the horrific house party of 12. Needless to say, that was enough to cement my belief that it would be unenjoyable. Sitting around Friday afternoon with no plans yet set in stone, suggesting that we go out for girls night later that evening via group chat seemed perfectly normal. Bouncing ideas off each other, I brought up the idea of wanting to check out a club. Apparently that caught everyone off guard; instantly the conversation died and I was greeted with several phone calls asking whether or not I was okay and how long I had left . Anyone who knows me knows that while I may love concerts I simply view clubbing as Prom minus chaperones. If you could not tell, I was not fond of the idea of prom either and so opted out. It is not that I am prude of any sort but what is the point of spending hours in line just to enter a dark room only to be grinded on and groped by strangers? Once I thoroughly reassured everyone that I was in my right state of mind, preparations for that evening began. Frankly speaking I never realized how much time and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
