Humanitarian Military Intervention
Although non militant humanitarian intervention holds many superior traits to military
intervention, sometimes global powers have no alternative except to demonstrate military force.
Humanitarian military intervention must only be utilized in a limited set of circumstances. First,
global powers must only employ military force to combat extreme catastrophes such as ethnic
cleansing, genocide, and crimes against humanity. Second, global powers may use military
intervention as a last resort, having exhausted all other non militant options. Finally, interventions
who meet the first two criteria must only respond to the situation with a proportionate response. In
his article, Humanitarian Intervention: Loose Ends , Fernando TesГіn describes this

Narrative Essay On African American Culture
As Americans, we are privileged with diverse experiences. With this comes a perceived
understanding of many cultures and their influences but in fact full cultural literacy is impossible
to achieve.
My grandfather was born and raised in the backwoods of Louisiana during a turbulent time for
African Americans. As a black man he lived in perpetual danger. Through raceriots, physical
exploitation, and attempted rape, he has developed a much different opinion about gun reform
than mine. So much so that my mother carries the many of the same opinions. My great aunt, on
my grandfather s side, was a beautiful woman in her time. She was a tall 5 5 with long french
hair that rested in little curls at the ends. Her skin was a light coffee color much like mine. Her
facial features displayed an uncharacteristically delicate quality for her environment. she was a
nexus for all types of attention, good and bad. When she was at the ripe age of sixteen a man,
almost twice her age arrived to the front porch. He intended to inquire about a date. when the
doorbell rang he crooked a sly smile, not expecting to be greeted by the stoic face of my great
grandfather. My great grandmother exact words were something like That burly man weren t

Think of culture as a type of language. Like language culture is made up of many different sub

parts of the language. What if English had perpetually evolving influences. At one moment it s
Spanish roots become more prevalent and you re expected to roll your r s. Then the Germanic
influence replaces the Spanish and then another influence replaces that one. The point is one cannot

Emma Kart Willard Thesis Statement
Emma Hart Willard was an American educator whose groundbreaking feminist ideas fueled the
development of schools for women and girls. Despite living during an era where women were
regarded as intellectually inferior, Willard managed to progress quickly as an educator, eventually
opening the United States first permanent female seminary. Her tireless efforts towards
revolutionizing and expanding female educationopened doors for educated women and helped make
education more gender inclusive.
Born in Connecticut during 1787, Emma Hart Willard was the second youngest of seventeen
children. Fortunately for Willard and her siblings, her father held progressive views regarding
education and the inclusion of women in education. His encouragement resulted in her [acquiring]
an education that was out of the ordinary for girls (Chadwick, n.d., para. 3). Initially, Willard s
education was self taught and a significant part of it was her involvement in family discussions. Her
parents and siblings made sure to include her in conversations about predominantly male topics
such as politics, philosophy, world affairs and mathematics ( Emma Willard, n.d., para. 3). Those
discussions only fueled her desire to learn and at the age of fifteen, Willard enrolled in school for
the first time. (Chadwick, n.d., para 3). Once she was settled into the Berlin Academy, her local
school, she began to progress rapidly. According to the Encyclopædia Britannica (2016), she
started teaching at the Berlin Academy two years after her initial enrollment in 1802. Then, in
1806, she was granted the opportunity to be in charge of the Berlin Academy for one term. That
opportunity no doubt influenced her later actions regarding the advancement of female education.
In 1807, Willard accepted a teaching position in Massachusetts but she did not remain at the
position for long. That same year, she accepted a position as principal at a girls academy located
in Vermont (The Editors of Encyclopædia Britannica, 2016, para. 2). Her move to Vermont proved
to be an important step in her life. In Vermont, she met her first husband, John Willard, and was
introduced to his nephew, a student at the local college. John Willard s nephew lived with the couple

Carrabelle Essay
Carrabelle is a quaint town that prides itself on allowing visitors to experience Old Florida . It is
an ideal place to visit if you are looking for someplace that is off the beaten path and not
congested with lots of other tourists. This town lies at the convergence of three rivers, so it
provides ample opportunities for fishing, boating, and spending lazy days at the two local beaches.
Location
Carrabelle is located in Florida s panhandle. It is slightly southwest of Tallahassee and east of
Apalachicola near the mouth of the Carrabelle River, which is fed by the Gulf of Mexico. Other
bodies of order that help to define Carrabelle are St. George Sound to the south and the Crooked
and New Rivers to the north. The entirety of Carrabelle is a mere 5.6 square miles, 4.5 of which is
land and the remaining portion (about 20%) is water.
Beaches
Since there is so much water surrounding the town of Carrabelle, it stands to reason that there will
be great beaches there as well. Carrabelle does not disappoint in this area. The town is proud of its
waterfront and welcomes visitors to come and experience everything this beach town has to offer.

As you are aware a sales declines are an anomaly. The department has had sales increases every
quarter since it was created at the end of 2012. It has not gone unnoticed that an overall decline

Essay on Ragtime and Blues Influence on Jazz

Seeing Ragtime and Blues as Parents of Jazz Jazz is a music genre that has complex
characteristics and history of development and thus many musicians and scholars face troubles in
defining what jazz is. In general, jazz is believed to have born in New Orleans. Jazz developed for
the pleasure of the social dancers. According to the Understanding Jazz: What Is Jazz? of John F.
Kennedy center for the Performing Arts, Jazz was created mainly by Afro Americans, and had
elements of European and Afro American culture. Also, it emphasizes few elements of Jazz, which
are swing feel, syncopation, and improvisation. These different culture and elements of jazz may be
explained by how jazz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus the similarity between ragtime and blues is significant but there are numerous differences
between the two music styles. First, their origin was different. Even though they both had African
influence as mentioned, ragtime was more strongly influenced by European music style, and blues
was heavily African music style. According to Durk Sutro in his book Jazz for Dummies, Ragtime
was European influenced, in the sense that it was composed, not improvised, and featured carefully
crafted melodies and harmonies...ragtime could sound concisely European (ch.5). Although
European influenced, there is some African influence such as rhythm and African banjo music as
mentioned during the lecture. Ragtime rhythm was the rhythms of the black dancers who used
their heels to make drum sounds, or to that of the black church singers who could vary the rhythms
of a Christian hymn so much that a white Christian could not even recognize it (Tirro, pp.37).
On the other hand, Blues were basically from work songs of African Americans slaves at the time.
It is a native American music, the product of the black man in this country, or, to put it more
exactly the way I have come to think about it, blues could not exist if the African captives had not
become American captives (pp.17), said Jones and Baraka. In Jazz A History, Frank Tirro wisely
analyzes and explains the relationship between the unique background and

Critical Functions Of Joint Operations
Joint operations have certain critical functions that help utilize all the tools necessary to operate and
fight jointly. Use of joint operations and joint functions is imperative at operational and strategic
levels of military operations. During all joint missions, Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP)
and Joint Intelligence Planning of the Operating Environment (JIPOE) are critical. Each function
within JOPP and each step within JIPOE help the commander make critical decisions. These
decisions eliminate confusion and assist subordinate commanders in their mission planning. It also
ensures all elements are aware of each other, their mission as well as the overall mission and the
commander s intent.
Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) Dagger originally developed the mission to rid
Shah i Kot Valley of Al Qaeda and Taliban forces by using Afghan forces as the main element with
preparatory air attacks and Close Air Support (CAS). Within a week, it became a joint operation
with Task Force (TF) Mountain is taking the lead, becoming Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF)
Mountain. This joint force consists of elements of the 10th Mountain Division, 101st Airborne
Division, U.S. SOF, Australian SOF, U.S. Marines, plus local militias.
On 13 February, CJTF Mountain moves from Uzbekistan to Bagram. This move plus the fact that
CJTF Mountain was only a portion of the necessary staff caused several issues that would plague

The Hidden Horrors of Mass Produced Food The way we eat has changed more in the last fifty
years than in the past ten thousand. (Food, Inc.) Farming first emerged as a large scale industry
during the Industrial Revolution. The transition from small, local farms to larger, corporate owned
businesses began when machines were more readily available and much more efficient. However,
another factor in the creation of the current industrial food system, including factory farming, is the
advent of fast food, beginning in the 1930s. Food had to be uniform and cheap for both the
company and the consumers (Food, Inc.). Another contributing factor is increased demand for
animal products, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Factory farming isn t just harming the environment, it is also extremely cruel to the animals on
these farms. The American poultry industry kills approximately 8.6 million chickens for meat every
year, and another 300 million hens produce eggs (A Closer), and the treatment of these chickens is
anything but humane. A recent video published by The Huffington Post, Tyson: Exposed, shows
the cruel treatment of chickens at several Tyson Foods chicken breeding facilities. The video is
incredibly graphic, showing workers standing on birds heads to crush their skulls, kicking and
beating birds, all while admitting that what they re doing cannot be exposed (Hanson). Tyson Foods
is the largest chicken producer in the country, accounting for twenty one percent of all sales (Tyson
Foods, Tyson Fact Book http://ir.tyson.com/investor relations/investor overview/tyson factbook
/default.aspx). Animal welfare has clearly taken a backseat to corporate profits: Tyson earned
nearly $1.4 billion in the first nine months of fiscal 2016 (Tyson Foods, Third Quarter Results).
But animal cruelty isn t just confined to the breeding facilities. A report from Canada, which has
some of the worst transport standards for chickens in the world, shows that it is common to find
birds dead on arrival to the slaughterhouse (Brown 1). These birds must travel fully

The Description Of A New World Called The Freezing World...
Within her fictional prose piece The Description of a New World, Called the Blazing World ,
Margaret Cavendish s intellectually fueled construction of her blazing world reveals the importance
of education and learning in the development of society and understanding of a new ever expanding
world. Her writings and desires of integrating education and learning into the development of
government parallel struggles of the restoration period of England and offer her own solutions to its
recreation.
Upon entering a new and fantastic world filled with creatures never before seen or described the
Empress of the new world exemplifies the cultural attempt to use scientific hypothesis and reason
to better understand the unknown. Introduced to individuals of colors ranging from azure to
deep purple and all between, the Empress seeks to further evaluate this intriguing phenomenon
wondering, whether they were made by bare reflection of light, without the assistance of small
particles , or by the help of well ranged and ordered atoms, or by a continual agitation of little
globules, or by some pressing and reacting motion (Cavendish 1159). Margaret cavendish s
description of the Empress attempt to apply current scientific theories of molecules in evaluating
the reasoning behind the bizarre colorings of the peoples of this new world exemplifies a new
attempt to reach beyond bare visuals. She begins questioning and applying scientific knowledge to
the world in order to better comprehend its workings. The Empress experience parallels the recent
discovery and exploration of new worlds during the time of Cavendish and provides a fictional
example of the way world explorers were attempting to better understand new species and lands
through a scientific method of hypothesis and reasoning.
Continuing throughout the work, Cavendish establishes the importance of education in preparing
individuals for higher roles in society. The Empress erected schools and several societies thoroughly
educating her people and anointing them high value occupations and positions in society, making,
the ape men her chemists, the satyrs her Galenic physicians, the fox men her politicians, the spider
and lice men her mathematicians... Etc

To What Extent Is Lorca’s Use of Symbolism and Imagery in...
To what extent is Lorca s use of symbolism and imagery in The House of Bernarda Alba central to
the unfolding of his tragic tale?
When Federico Garcia Lorca talked about his new play, The House of Bernarda Alba, he said
that it was pure realism and did not have a drop of poetry in it, however if you look closely you
can see expressionism elements. The tragedy of the play has been emphasised by symbolism and
imagery to help the unfolding of his tragic tale by presenting the fears, the fact that They ve been
robbed of the capacity of hope and tensions of all the characters; showing the bleak ending for the
girls.
Lorca has used the symbol of heat in The House of Bernarda Alba to show the utter desperation for
passion and male attention: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This symbolism is rather tragic in a way as everyone knows that white does not stay clean
forever. The colour white also emphasises the colour black which the family are forced to wear
by Bernarda: keep your mourning clothes on your backs . The symbolic use of black reminds
the audience of just how long Bernarda s daughters will have to endure the mourning of Antonio
Maria Benavides and how much it will affect them. On the other hand the traditional colour the
black stand for is death, and there is an abundance of that in this play. At the end of Act Two
there is a women who has had a bastard baby and Bernarda reacts in a horrible was Let any
woman who drags her honour in the dirt pay the price . This could foreshadow what is going to
happen to Adela as she has dragged her honour in the dirt . Also there is a question at weather she is
pregnant: clutching herself . This could show that Adela is pregnant and that she sympathises with
the women who is being tortured.
In a way Bernarda is sentencing these girls to life of solitude and unhappiness and Adela also
selfishly prolongs this by killing herself. The lack of colour and of personal opinions in this
house hold almost represents a type asylum, or as is suggested They appear as nuns, not as
eligible young women . This lack of colour makes Adela s lover for colour stand out even more.
When Adela presents

What Is Wrong To Take Supplies From Work Wrong
We re just talking about a few lousy nails, said Archie Bunker in response to an accusation made
about his most recent act at work. Mr. Bunker had allegedly taken a box of nails without the
permission of his employer, yet, Mr. Bunker is not the only person committing this crime. Minimal
theft is a problem that people seem to think is morally acceptable, significantly more if the item
came from work. Although it is a small miscellaneous item, the quantity and the rate of which an
item is taken can impact the total profit from the employers. Regardless of the number or price of
the merchandise taken, it is theft nonetheless. Even using or borrowing equipment is ethically
unacceptable since the owner is not aware of it. Without a doubt, taking and using supplies from
work is improper behavior.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When workers take small objects from their workplace, they are taking items that are pennies on
the dollar. However when all of the pennies are counted on a grand scale, they accumulate to
massive amounts of dollars. At the end of the day, when all is said and done, the workers are
taking profits from their employers. The profits taken have long lasting effects that the workers are
not seeing. Companies and corporations will start cutting paychecks, increasing prices, and even
firing their employees when their net revenue starts declining. This is a situation where everyone
loses; the employees get their wages cut, the consumers become affected by inflation, and the
owners have to take preventative measures just to keep their companies afloat. These occurring

This sampling would require that the sampling is relevant to the topic that we are trying to
research and that there is an identifiable distribution among the population being interviewed. This
would be required if you were to sample males versus females, one would have to be sure to
determine the exact distribution level. It would be important to ensure that it was calculated that
there were 45 males and 50 females and that information would have to be evaluated based on
those measures rather than an equal amount of each. This could also be said if one were to interview
different religious groups. If you were going to interview several different religious groups, it
would be imperative to ensure that you have allowed all the numbers of the groupings that you have

The snowball method would be done once the interviewees went through referrals. If one were to

Questions On The Research Process Essay
In addition, (Blakstad, 2008) discusses the research process and defines it as the step by step
procedures of developing one s research . Tuner (2009) indicates that the availability of resources
requirements is major factors to consider when selecting research questions. Sauro (2013)
discussion of the researchprocess provides further details on the factors that contribute to the
successful research question selection.
In selecting a successful research question, the research must be able to identify the researcher
must see the need for this particular study, define the issue, and to find solution or solutions to
resolve it. The research should provide a clear picture for the researcher to discover if the
research question can be solved. How, What, When and Why are major contributing factors, How
is to analyze how the research will be carried out. When, is the appropriate timing that suits all
stakeholders that involved and what the type of study is? The researcher has to be mindful of the
topic chosen, it is vital that the topic is of interest; otherwise, the research may become
insignificant, inconsistent or even inadequate. Why is it significant to conduct a research as such?
Daniel (2015) added that these questions are pertinent, as it acts as an evaluator as to determine if
the research question is unclear.
The Collection of data is another factor which contributes to the research question it gives light to

Protestant Ethic And The Spirit Of Capitalism Analysis
The word capitalism can be defined in our modern society as large businesses and factories that
control their rate of production and the way that profits are distributed throughout employees of the
company. Being in control means that a company has the ability to know at all times where its
money is and what said moneyis being used for. By doing this, they can earn as much money as
possible. However, capitalism was not always centered around businesses and factories. In fact, the
concept itself dates back to the Protestant Reformation in the 16th and 17th centuries. In The
Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism, author Max Weber discusses the origins of capitalism
as we know it today. He argues that modern, 21st century capitalism... Show more content on

Discovering Mortality in Once More to the Lake Essay
Discovering Mortality in Once More to the Lake
E. B. White s story Once More to the Lake is about a man who revisits a lake from his childhood
to discover that his life has lost placidity. The man remembers his childhood as he remembers the
lake; peaceful and still. Spending time at the lake as an adult has made the man realize that his life
has become unsettling and restless, like the tides of the ocean. Having brought his son to this place
of the past with him, the man makes inevitable comparisons between his own son and his
childhood self, and between himself as an adult and the way he remembers his father from his
childhood perspective. The man s experience at the lake with his son is the moment he discovers

I would be in the middle of some simple act, I would be picking up a bait box or laying down a
table fork, or I would be saying something and suddenly it would be not I but my father who was
saying the words or making the gesture (White 151).
When the man lay in bed early one morning, he heard his son sneak out to take a canoe out on the
lake, just as he used to do when he was a child. By living a dual existence the man could see from
two perspectives; his son sneaking out early in the morning, his father lying in bed listening to his
son sneak out. I began to sustain the illusion that he was I, and therefore, by simple transposition,
that I was my father (White 151). The man s alternate ways of viewing these events convinced him
that he was becoming his father.
This thought eventually leads to the man s realization that he will die someday, just as his father

Sight Words
Name of Assignment: How I will develop sight word knowledge in my instructional programme.
Introduction
Sight words are words which are recognized on sight and do not require any analysis. Sight word
knowledge refers to the ability to recognize the pronunciation of words automatically without
conscious application of other decoding strategies (Leu and Kinzer, 1999).
One of the benchmarks of a good reader is fluency. LaBerg and Samuels, 1976 define fluency as
the process of automatically, accurately and rapidly recognizing words. It is my desire as a
teacher to produce excellent readers. The sad reality for me is that, not all students can achieve
this. As a teacher I see my task as one in which I must equip my pupils with the ... Show more

Using the words they omitted, I recorded them and made a chart in the classroom and drilled them
daily until they memorized the words.
As I reflect now on that method, I realized that being an untrained teacher, I did not see the
importance of allowing my pupils to experience these words in a reading context. Now that I have
been trained, I realize that along with teaching and drilling words in isolation, these words must be
taught in context and pupils given the opportunity to use the words in writing activities. The use of
flashcards with the words written on it is also a good tool to use along with word lists. Nicholson
(1998) suggests using flashcards to foster automaticity in word recognition and teaching children to
read words faster can improve reading comprehension dramatically.
2) The Language Experience Approach is another method I would use to teach sight words in my
instructional programme. According to Roe, Smith and Burns, (2005), page 81, the Language
Experience Approach, in which students own language is written down and used as the basis for
their reading material, is good for developing sight vocabulary. This approach provides a
meaningful context for learning sight words, and it can be used productively with individuals or
groups.
What I particularly like about this method is that pupils will play an active word in the lesson in
that it comes from

Analysis of Immanuel Kant s Arguements in The...
In the essay titled Foundations of the Metaphysics of Morals published in the Morality and Moral
Controversies course textbook, Immanuel Kant argues that the view of the world and its laws is
structured by human concepts and categories, and the rationale of it is the source of morality
which depends upon belief in the existence of God. In Kant s work, categorical imperative was
established in order to have a standard rationale from where all moral requirements derive.
Therefore, categorical imperative is an obligation to act morally, out of duty and good will alone. In
Immanuel Kants writing human reason and or rational are innate morals which are responsible for
helping human. Needless to say, this also allows people to be able to... Show more content on

Freedom of the will can never be disproven or proven because will is influenced by the force
outside of the human body and humans use reason to determine the law themselves. Rational
people recognize themselves as free according to the categorical imperative.
Though I found myself sometimes disagreeing with the philosophy by Immanuel Kant, I found his
subjective reasoning to be thought provoking. I was pulled by two different forces after Kant
defined happiness as the state of a rational being in the world in the whole of whose existence
everything goes according to his wish and will. This unconventional way of defining term of
happiness strands away from the definition of happiness written by philosopher in the name of
John Stuart Mill. Mill defines happiness as a state of maximizing pleasure and minimizing pain.
In the writing, Immanuel argues that possession of wealth, health, or bravery can be used for
afflicted purposes and these characteristics cannot be essentially good. To Kant, being worthy of
happiness requires for one to possess a good will. The genuine good is the only unconditional good
which is connected to a good will. Disastrous misfortunes can happen but the goodness of the will
still remains. In this described above idea Immanuel provides a concrete support. According to my
interpretation of the author s idea and supporting statements, each day my actions consequentially
are moderately influenced by Kant s philosophy. I also believe that

Symbolism Of Childhood In Peter Pan And Wizard Of Oz
Childhood is the kingdom where nobody dies , a quote from Edna St. Vincent Millay. Both Peter
Pan and Wizard of Oz, use childhood to promote The Golden Age . According to Marriam
Webster.com, this term is described as, a period of great happiness, prosperity, and achievement.
But the golden age is also defined as a period where authors discovered that children were more than
innocent angels and that their childhoods are important, joyous, and unique. Both authors, Barrie
and Baum show this throughout their novels. Barrie uses imagination and a fear of growing up
while, Baum uses irony and a powerful symbol of home.
In the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Baum introduces the main character, Dorothy. She is a 16 year
old girl that lives in Kanas with her aunt and uncle. She gets very little attention and has only one
friend: her dog Toto. Dorothy is described as a child and stays a child throughout the entire book,
even when facing some difficult tasks. This is a different idea than some of the other Golden Age
texts such as Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan.
One of the most famous quotes from the novel is, there is no place like home. (Baum, chapter 4)
with Dorothy walking just three steps in her silver shoes. This is just one example of a quote that
hints at her age and innocence. When children are upset, we often hear them say, I want to go
home . Home has always been a place of comfort and security. Dorothy s home doesn t resemble
these characteristics when she

The Effect Of Culture On Consumer Behaviour
In international market, understanding consumer needs and desired is extremely important to the
corporation in order to market their products and services properly into the market. Consumer
behaviour is a process in where individuals or groups select, buy, use and dispose of the products
and services to satisfy their needs and desires. The organisation simply cannot understand
consumption unless they consider its cultural context, as cultureshows how people view leads to
their acceptance. Therefore, the effect of culture on consumer behaviour is powerful. This paper
will discuss in more details about that and further consider whether culture has the greatest
influence on consumer behaviour.
Culture has a complex concept that numerous of researchers talk about in different views.
Cultures is defined as a complex whole that includes of knowledge, belief, art, morals, law,
custom and any other capabilities and habits acquired by a member of the society (Hollensen,
2013). Culture provides the important background of an individual that offer direction and
guidance to its members in all phases of life. Besides, Sojka and Tansuhaj describe culture as a
dynamic set of socially obtains the member of a particular society s behaviours, with the key
element of language, artefacts, belief and values (Sojka and Tansuhaj, 1995). There are three main
characteristics of culture stated on Hollensen s (2013) book: culture is learned, interrelated and
shared. The tangible aspects of culture

Translating the overall strategy into action
An overall LTD strategy may be valid over a long timeframe, though it may need to be revisited
regularly as circumstances change. It is an overall statement of intent and needs to be given more
detail to give guidance on how it will be implemented and who will translate this intent into practice
The sections below set out some of the questions that need to be asked and the choices that
organisations need to make so that LTD practice achieves its strategic aims. Organisations may set
these policies as a set of organisational rules, or as guidance and communicate them to managers
and staff.
Performance management
LTD activities need to be planned for in the same way as other organisational activities, through the
performance management process. Responsibilities will be allocated to line management and HRD
specialists, targets set, and individual performance measured against achievement. This applies to
the HRD function and to line managers who achieve business targets by, amongst other things,
making sure their teams have the right level of capability. Find out more about the performance

Research Project:Iron
History of Iron
Iron was discovered in 3400 B.C, Ancient Egypt, inside meteorites. The iron in that time period
was used for tools and jewelry. Around 1200 B.C, we learned how to breakdown iron from
compounds. Used for tools, weapons, house implements, and etc. This marked the beginning of the
Iron Age. Then in 200 B.C we learned how to produce iron on our own. By now iron became
essential in blacksmithing. It also became important in Rome in the early A.D s. It was used in
their homes and wars. But iron mostly had impurities, like carbon and other metals. That was good
since those with impurities were stronger than ones without. In 1786 scientists Gaspard Monge, C.
A. Vandermonde, and Claude Louis Berthollet found an alloy stronger than iron. Steel was a mix
of carbon and iron, and in this age, which can be called the New Iron Age, Iron is the most
important metal and mostly used. But only in the form of steel.
Chemical and Physical Properties of Iron
Iron physical appearance is usually the color of white silver or gray. It can be drawn into a thin
wire and be hammered into sheets. It is also very stretchable and can be shaped into whatever
you want. Iron s melting point is 1,536 C, boiling point is 3,000 C, and is 7.87 g/cm^3. Iron is
very active in a chemical sense. It reacts with a lot of metals. Iron reacts with hot water and steam
to make hydrogen. It also dissolves in many acids.

Bartleby the Scrivener Essay
Bartleby s Isolation and the Wall
Introduction:
Bartleby the Scrivener, A Story of Wall Street is a short story by Herman Melville in which the
narrator, a lawyer who runs a firm on Wall Street, tells the story of a rebellious scrivener who
worked for him named Bartleby. One day, Bartleby simply states I would prefer not to when asked
to do his normal copying duties as a scrivener (Melville). Soon Bartleby starts sleeping and eating
at the office, refusing to leave. Eventually the narrator decides his only option is to move out and
leave Bartleby there. Unfortunately the next tenant is not nearly as passive as the prior and has the
lonely scrivener arrested. In jail he continues his preference against society and it eventually leads

By stripping himself of all physical human contact he has transformed himself from a person to a
thing. He is merely a purposeless object that has rooted itself to the office. By this point we can see
Bartleby has successfully isolated himself physically from the world.
Bartleby s Emotional Isolation: Bartleby s method of rejection is broken down in the online
article Time of Our Lives: A Critical History of Temporality , by David Couzens Hoy. When
Bartleby uses the statement, I would prefer not to [it] is neither an affirmation nor a negation.
Bartleby is not refusing to do what he is asked, but he is not accepting the order either. There is a
double negation involved, and because the only two possibilities are to say yes or no. Bartleby s
impossible position of saying neither collapses into nothingness (Hoy, 174). As it is stated in the
quote Bartleby is neither refusing nor is he accepting any duty the lawyer asks of him. This
double negative statement makes it very difficult for the lawyer to understand what Bartleby
means by it. By being so ambiguous in his meaning Bartleby can keep his emotions or feelings
towards society, work, humanity etc. hidden from sight. By isolating himself emotionally and
keeping his feelings out of plain sight he leaves things up for interpretation. Keeping his emotions
inside is just another step towards complete isolation. Egbert S. Oliver states it best in the book A

a fixed or patrol post to protect government property in view or to apprehend an offender, only if
these duties cannot be accomplished within the prescribed limits of the sentry s post. The sentry

looking at their titles. To me, What s Wrong with Wharton? is well supported and well researched,
and those are the two factors that made the article sounds perfectly credible. Moreover, I think Korn
is doing a great job writing such an attention grabbing article as well as maintaining her writing
style, keeping the article sounds informative without using words that are too strong and emotional.

The Fifth Wave Research Paper
The Fifth Wave tells a tale about the slow inhalation of the Earth. A group of supernatural,
intelligent beings, the Others , plans to invade Earth in five attacks. These attacks basically take
away all the basic necessities humans need to survive, such as electricity, food, and water. The Fifth
Wave first originated as a novel trilogy written by Rick Yancey. Along with other popular young
adult science fictionnovels such as The Hunger Games trilogy and the Divergent trilogy, the novel
is later made into a film. The film had one director, J Blakeson, three screenplay writers, Susannah
Grant, Akiva Goldsman and Jeff Pinkner, and four producers, Tobey Maguire, Graham King, Tim
Headington and Matthew Plouffe. The leading character within The Fifth Wave is a normal high
school student, Cassie Sullivan. Cassie is portrayed by actress Chloe Grace Mortez. Cassie is first
introduced at a high school party which demonstrated the normalcy in her life along with other
aspects. This includes her mother and father, her younger brother Sammy (portrayed by Zackary
Arthur), best friend Liz and high school crush, Ben Parish (portrayed by Nick Robinson). However,

became attached to the canonical Gospels in order to distinguish another writing in a collection;
this was a development in the mid to late second century. In addition, when copying collections of

Once attributions with no basis in the works themselves are discounted, the number of Gnostic
texts entitled gospel shrinks even further. The Valentinian entries, the Gospel of Truth and the
Gospel of Philip, have no ties to the genre gospel. Valentinian teachers interpret Gospels that are
common property of the larger Christian community. In the remaining cases, both the Gospel of
Thomas and the Gospel of Judas have an incipit that employs a different literary designation. A
later scribe took the apostle s name from the incipit to create the title. The opening pages of the
Gospel of Mary have been lost. Her prominence in the second half of the text may have provided a
scribe with the name for a title. None of the Gnostic tractates entitled gospel initially had that
designation.
Used in the oral sense for preaching a message about salvation revealed through the coming of
Jesus, it is the content of their soteriology, not the term that distinguishes Gnostics from other
Christians. Used in the mid second century forward for written accounts of Jesus and his teaching
commonly circulated among Christians, there is no special Gnostic Gospel. Gnostic teachers rely
on the range of gospel traditions being circulated among Christians, with no greater tendency than
believers to exploit apocryphal Gospels. In addition, the poetics of the Gnostic universe push its
teachers away from imaginative engagement with the historical or physical world such as might

The Importance Of Clock Reaction
A clock reaction is where the fusion of various reagents, with relation to time, cause a colour
change in the solution. The end of the reaction rate is measured by the increase in the rate of
concentration. There are two factors which contribute to the rate of the reaction, induction and
inhibition. Induction is where the production rate of the clock chemical increases as the
increases as the concentration of the solution increases. Whereas, Inhibition is where the
chemical reacts with the clock chemical, increasing the concentration. The increase in the rate
can only occur if all of the inhibitor chemical is consumed within the reaction (S.J Preece, 1999).
Some examples of clock reactions are the arsenic (III) sulfide clock reaction, and Landolt iodine
clock oxidation of bisulphite by iodate. This specific reaction is stated to be one of the most
favourable clock reactions, showing a deep blue colour within a matter of seconds. This specific
reaction involves two colourless solutions that mix together after a certain amount of time it
yields a blue colour change. The chemical equilibrium is a formula used to describe the rate in
reverse reactions. Chemical Equilibria: Rate = k [A]^p [B]^q The rate law will also be used to
analyse the concentrations, and to determine whether the reaction is zero order, first order or a
second order reaction. Secondary data obtained from another investigation was rate = k[IO3] 1

Tracy was really worried about their exit diagrams around the hospital that they aren t up to code.
So when I was reading I focused on finding out about the exit diagrams. So you re probably
wondering what an exit diagram is so let me explain. When you walk into any hospital or surgery
center really any building you will see a picture on the wall saying, You are here on what looks
like a picture hanging on the wall. So the rule in the handbook about fire safety is that the
surgery center has to have one in every part of the building, the bigger the building the more exit
diagrams the facility needs to have. So as I got to reading in the handbook it made it very clear
that these exit diagrams should be easy to read and understand. So after I read that part I took a
walk around the facility just to see what their exit diagrams even looked like. I hadn t paid much
attention to this so I was curious to see what they looked like. As I walked around the facility
looking at the different exit diagrams the more I felt like they were the furthest from easy to
understand. So after I was done taking my walk around the surgery center I went into Tracy s
office she asked me what I read and what I had focused on in the reading today. So I told her
about the exit diagrams and what they needed to pass code for when they get surveyed in the
upcoming months. I asked her to come with me so I could show her some things, we then took a

Individualism Is Celebrated As An Achievement Of Our...
In our modern society, individualism is celebrated as an achievement of our culture, economy, and
success. It basks in the light of personal success overthrowing the success of the community, and
believes that to be personally successful is more important than the success and solidarity among
the people you identify with. In the 19th century of Latin America, this ideology was forced onto a
society that perceived itself as a collective culture. The success of the majority was more important
than the success of the individual to the non Europeans of Latin America. To be successful for the
community was success in itself, as you were helping the group. If the community suffered, then
you would suffer as well. There was not one person in the community who was at fault for the
majority failure, but the whole community was at fault. The European individualistic ideology took
the traditional collective perspective and destroyed it with class systems, culture conflict, economic
change, and lack of options for the people of Latin America to change the course of their land s
ideologies. The beginning of the indoctrination of individualismwas the divide between the eliteand
the folk in Latin American. The elite people of Latin America were those from the mother country
of the colony, or descendents of people from the mother country. They represented the wealth, skills,
power, and birthright of those in the highest class in Latin America (5). The folk of Latin America

Deforestation Is A Global Issue
The long term removal of tree cover, deforestation, is a global issue that can be catastrophic if
not resolved and is one of the most urgent of issues. Deforestation is a global issue, not only
because it happens all around the world, in multiple countries but also because its causes are
produced by globally drive motives. Politically, Socially and Environmentally, deforestation is a
global issue that delves deeply in almost all aspects of organism life. This essay will explore into
the intricacy of the global issue of deforestation and its surface and root causes. Although
deforestation occurs mostly in tropical rainforests, which are primarily in developing countries,
this does not equate it to national problems, instead it is an issue, which through the rise of
economic globalization, means that the global population are bearing down on the forests as
well. The surface issues are agricultural expansion and infrastructure expansion, with deeper root
causes, which fall under the political and social scope. These underlying causes are fundamental
forces that underpin the more obvious or proximate causes of deforestation (Geist, Lambin, 2001,
pg.8) This essay will draw from academic sources and will elaborate on author s theories and
opinions on the topic of the causes of deforestation. By doing this, a mixture of neo liberal, liberal
and emancipatory social action approaches will be taken to be able to fully understand the surface
and underlying causes of deforestation.

The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner by Randal Jarrell
In the first line of the The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner Jarrell states, When I died they washed
me out of the turret with a hose (5). Jarrell does not elaborate; he makes it very clear that war is
gruesome. However, the literary techniques used in the other four lines of Death of the Ball Turret
Gunner give this theme even deeper meaning and make his point so effective. Jarrell criticizes the
governmentfor its insensitivity toward the fate if its solders. Jarrell does mention how scared the
gunner is, or call out the government for the brutalities and terrors the gunner has witnessed and
experienced; he simply states the events that occurred, allowing the reader to make these
conclusions for himself. Jarrell uses imagery to convey the gruesome horrors of combat, perplexity
to simultaneously establish the gunner s emotional condition, and finally tone to portray the
government s perspective of soldiers that die.
The imagery Jarrell uses not only conveys the terrifying situation the ball turret gunner is in, it also
exhibits the difference between the gunner s previous experiences and his current situation. The
first line indicates the ball turret gunner safe. He mentions his mother s sleep (1), meaning the sleep
during which he is in her womb. This gives the reader the impression that he came from a protected,
warm, and comfortable environment. This environment contradicts with his present situation being,

Lord Capulet orders Juliet to marry Count Paris. She protests, to no end. She then turns to her
mother who only says that you will do as your father says. Then, in desperation, she turns to her

she turns now from her earthly father to her Heavenly Father and says: Is there no pity in the

Perhaps the first absurd heroine was Rachel. You recall the slaughter of the innocents where
Herod had all the young male babies of two years and younger put to death to ensure the
liquidation of any possible king. And Rachel cried out, and Matthew tells it in these words: In
Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation and weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeping for
her children and would not be comforted because they are not. And there was no answer to the cry,
only silence. That silence is the absurd.
Is there something of this sense of the absurd to be found in Camus?

Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence for the American colonists to proclaim
freedom from Great Britain s dictator, King George III. American colonists had been suffering for
many years when this important document was drafted. King George III had pushed the colonists

Instead of quoting the entire paragraph I am going to break it down into the parts that express the
point most visibly. Jefferson states, When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for
people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another . Here he is
explaining that there is a need for separation between Great Britain and the American territory. He
then says, A decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes

Ethnocentrism Vs Ethnocentrism
Ethnocentrism vs Polycentrism
When thinking of cultural identity I see myself as, a mixed latina caucasian, middle class
Christian. The things I do in my everyday life reflects off of what I was taught in my early stages
of life. Learning morals to what is right and wrong. Also learning to how to be a women and to be
ladylike. With also learning and how to apply my religion in my everyday life. Being a Christian I
believe there is one God and that is Jesus. I believe God sent down his only son to sacrifice
himself for us the people. Also growing up I have heard how different religions is wrong. For
example, the Catholic faith. I was told the Catholic religion believe in three Gods. The Father,
The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The Catholic religion also pray in the Father, The Son, and Holy
Spirit. Being a Christian I was taught there was only one name to pray in and that is in Jesus
name. This affects my everyday life because the way I act, speak, dress affects my religion and
morals that were given to me since birth. Being ethnocentric I believe my religion is correct. I
know it correct because I follow the Bible. What I give off to people is a representation of that.
On the other hand, I do believe all religions are correct in their own way. They were taught the
same things I was taught, but just in different ways. I do feel like who am I to say there religion
is incorrect. It is not my place it is Gods place. This is the part where I am also polycentric. With

Hamlet, why did he delay Essay
William Shakespeare, perhaps the greatest playwright of all time, authored a number of works
consisting of sonnets, comedies, and tragedies. In his brilliant career, Shakespeare created literary
works of art.
What makes Shakespeare unlike any other writer of his time, is his ability to organize a realistic
plot, manage themes, and develop characters within his works (Nordling). As well, Shakespeare s
ability to provoke feeling and reaction to his writing is also what sets him apart from other common
writers. Of his works, Hamlet is perhaps the most studied and most interesting of the collected
tragedies. In this play, many question the actions of the characters and particularly the actions of
Hamlet. The answer to: Why does Hamlet delay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Undoubtedly, Hamlet is a man of action. (Eliot)
Why then, does Hamlet require five Acts to finally prove this concept? A number of different
possibilities exist. The single, most important of these possibilities are Hamlet s internal conflicts
within his own mind, body, and soul. From the first Act,
Hamlet displays a substantial amount of concern for his mother. quot;...Why, she would hang on
him / As if increase of appetite had grown / By what it fed on; and yet, within a month / Let me not
think; Frailty, thy name is woman! quot; Clearly, Hamlet s concern for the Queen, his mother, is
genuine. Within this thought, Hamlet realized the severity of his mother s actions while also
attempting to rationalize her mentality so that he may understand, and perhaps, cope with the
untimely nature of the Queen s marriage to Claudius. Understandably, Hamlet is disturbed. (Nighan)
Gertrude causes such confusion in Hamlet that throughout the play, he constantly wondered how it
could be possible that events would turn out the way that they had. This unfortunate turn of events
is often questioned since Gertrude, the same woman who had instilled a great sense of religion in
Hamlet, contradicts such a value that proves quot;Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
quot; (Nordling) While regarding this as the principal means for Hamlet s frustration, it is not until
seeing a spirit form that Hamlet decided to seek the truth, and ultimately, exact revenge. After
envisioning the

Bruce Bueno De Mesquita Expected Utility Model
In A Decision Making Model: Its Structure and Form, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita discusses the
expected utility model, which is designed to demonstrate how policy positions are affected by
competition among actors over their respected interests (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, p. 235). With
the basis of the medium voter and monotonicity theorem, the model is portrayed as a game in
which actors first pitch their respected preferences to other participants, attempting to influence
them, and then form coalitions and adjust their own positions on the issue according to the
response they receive from other actors, repeating these steps in order as needed (Bueno de
Mesquita, 1997, p. 238). Each player in this game is aware of the potential power and stance of
other actors on the policies in question, as well as the salience those actors associate with the issues
explored (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author establishes that the objective of the models is to predict the process and outcome
leading to the resolution of complex negotiations and to ascertain the possible way negotiations
may end (Bueno de Mesquita, 2011, p. 66). Before focusing on the model itself however, the
article outlines changes the new model incorporates, including heuristic rules, which are
designed to govern some key computational choices in order to ensure that the model can provide
guidance as to when the game is predicted to end . . . [and] how it is predicted to end (Bueno de
Mesquita, 2011, p. 67). While such changes to the model are necessary concessions, they should
still be reevaluated in order to clarify how they may be improved and modified over time in order
to ensure that such rules do not cause variance and affect model

How To Acid Affect My Mood
Tracked Data and Hypothesis: First, I decided to track my sleep and how it affects my mood
because I wanted to determine if there was an amount of sleep which helped me have a positive
mood. This could be useful, especially during the school year, to help me have a positive outlook
amidst a stressful atmosphere. I hypothesized that not getting enough sleep, as well as, sleeping
too much will have a negative affect on my mood. However, I also included outside influences
because no matter how much sleep I get on a certain day, if something negative happens I will
most likely let it affect my mood. While compiling my data for this assignment I also stopped
taking oral contraceptives which greatly impacted my menstrual cycle. Because of this, I also
decided to track my cycle and determine what hormones would be the highest on what days. Since
my cycle was thrown off by almost two weeks, I wanted to see if these hormones also affect my
mood. I then hypothesized that the different hormones during menstruation negatively affect my
mood. Description of Data:... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, if I had an exciting event on or after that day, my mood would be affected in a positive
way. I could not easily determine what amount of sleep was too much. On days where I got 8
hours of sleep or more there was a split correlation between a positive mood and a negative
mood. I missed the amount of sleep I got on the 15th because I worked an overnight shift and slept
strange times. I included any inferences I could think of to help determine if outside factors played
a larger role on my mood than the amount of sleep I

Main Symbols In Trifles
Trifles a theatrical play, was written by Susan Glaspell in the US in 1916. The story is set on the
investigation of the murder of Mr. Wright, by characters Mr. Hale and Mrs. Hale, Mr. Peters and
Mrs. Peters, and Henderson. As the men try to find clues for investigating the murder case, the
wives of them find and then hide from the men a dead bird which died the same way Mr. Wright
did. This essay will discuss Mrs. Wright, a character who only appears through the description by
the other speaking characters, and how Glaspell successfully represents Mrs. Wright symbolically
through the setting, the other characters, and specific symbols in the play. The setting of the play

Wright herself. The canary was Mrs. Wright s pet bird she bought possibly around last year as
Mrs. Hale recalls (Glaspell 94). The death of the bird signifies the death of peace, as birds are
well known to be symbolic of peace. Also, the bird itself may symbolise Mrs. Wright herself, as
she was lively talented singer at first, but then caged in a closed environment (depiction of
marriage and housekeeping) and then killed (depiction of her social life outside the house). The
quilt, although at the start was so nice and even , has become all over the place by the end of it
according to Mrs. Hale (Glaspell 93). The sudden disorder and confusion following straight after a
stability and calmness in Mrs. Wright s lifestyle is accurately represented in this particular symbol.
This links with Mrs. Hale s more positive image of her before she got married to Mr. Wright,

Jesus And The Holy Of Thorns
Jesus shed blood in a fourth place when a crown of thorns was placed on His head. Matthew
27:29 NIV tells us that a braided crown of thorns was placed on His head, and the Roman soldiers
mocked Him saying, Hail, King of the Jews! Bleeding from the thorns that were pushed into His
head, Jesusrestored your peace of mind. Remember? The chastisement of our peace was upon
Him, (Isaiah 53:5 KJV). The blood that Jesus shed from the crown of thorns is capable of
releasing all of the strongholds in your mind. Things that would otherwise hold you back, and
keep you in confusion and weighted down; Jesus took care of all of that before He ever got to
the Cross. Praise God! You have always been on His mind, and He knew that sometimes you were
going to need Him to lead you to victory on the battlefield of your own mind and against yourself.
The fifth place that Jesus bled from was His hands. His hands were pierced through with nails,
and He bled for your transgressions. But He was pierced for our transgressions, Isaiah 53:5
NASB. He bled from His hands; so that you might prosper. He broke the curse from the work of
your hands; so that your labor could be blessed. This is a true blessing indeed, because we are
told in Genesis 1:26 28 that God had placed all dominion and authority into the hands of Adam
and Eve. They lost their dominion and authority to Satan. Since then, we have always had to work
for our food and shelter. With the blood covered hands of Jesus, you are able to

Why Schools Should Change School Lunches
Do you think your school needs improvements? I think my school has a few, but the lunches are
easily the most recognizable. The school board should change our lunches because they are
microwaved, they are not filling, and the school lunches have the same thing every day of the
week. Seriously, none of the kids like them, so just get us brand named foods.
To start things off, schools should definitely change is because they are microwaved. Most people
would prefer oven baked foods instead of frozen foods you just put under a light for 5 10 minutes.
Also sometimes with the microwaved food, it does not cook some of the meat all of the way, so
basically, there is a chance of poisoning your students. Another important fact about the microwaved

How do you expect a you kid to make throughout the day without any nutrients or energy to help
the stay awake, or to give them energy to make it through gym class. Not only does it affect school,
but it also causes poor performances in sports and other after school activities. Also if kids do
not get the proper nutrients it can put them in a bad mood, and nobody likes a mean, grumpy
kid walking around school. Most students do not eat breakfast in the mornings, so not having a
proper lunch just makes that even worse. Now, for the final, and more of a less known issue is
how our schools have the order of lunch every week. For most people, it gets boring and
repetitive when we have to eat the same food over and over again. The only thing they change is
the fruits and maybe the chips, but that is it! Chicken sandwich, steak nuggets, tacos, nachos,
pizza, repeat. It is not even the good kind of pizza or nachos, it is just some weird, fake,
manufactured food. Since we eat the same food every week, it the same uncooked, cold chunks in
the food that we bite into all of the time. The worst part is that sometimes on mondays, they give
us leftovers, and look brand new! That is how you know they are

The Harlem Renaissance s Influence On People s Views On...
Travel back in time several centuries ago to the 1900 s and imagine how different life would be
oil lamps/candles, outhouses or one toilet shared between several people, movies known as
flickers and lasting no longer than 10 minutes, no television, ice boxes as opposed to
refrigerators, baseball being the main sport that people followed as opposed to football, and
unless you were a White male, your lifestyle was not filled with many opportunities or rights. With
slavery being abolished not too long ago, discrimination and segregation was still widely accepted
and practiced. Life was much different back then. Although people were heavily being judged for
the color of their skin, a movement called the Harlem Renaissancehad a major influence on people s
views on African Americans across the United States. The Harlem Renaissance created a new Black
cultural identity through literature, music, theater, art, and politics. One of the leading voices was
Langston Hughes, a writer whom wrote realistic portrayals, both suffering and victories of African
American lifestyles through poetry, short stories, novels, and plays. Through short, effective, and
expressive words, Langston Hughes s poetry promoted African American culture and also addressed
the oppression and injustice of African Americans.
Our story starts from year 1916 to 1970, when more than 6 million African Americans relocated
from the Southern states to the Northern states in an epidemic known as the Great Migration.

Rhetorical Techniques In Montana 1948 By Larry Watson
The secrets showed by the rhetorical techniques
Larry Watson, in Montana 1948, presents a story of a family that not only Wesley Hayden, as the
sheriff of the town and the brother of the accused doctor, but the whole family struggles between
the family loyalty and justice. Watson develops each character through own ethical dilemmas and
the way they deal with those dilemmas. Since the novel starts with an unexpected event or secret of
Uncle Frank, Watson organizes the whole novel in a fast and depressing rhythm. To make the novel
more interesting to readers, Watson applies the rhetorical techniques such as symbol and
parallelism to render the tense atmosphere and further expressed the characters inner mind.

David screams, I could have walked right past our house, down the length of Green Avenue and
right out of Bentrock. I could have kept going and never returned, out of my town, away from
my family, away from my childhood. I could have kept going and taken with me the truth of
what had happened in that house (87). At here, David says I could have for three times to
indicate that he wants to find a place to bury the secret forever. As a twelve years old boy, David
has no power in the whole event, but unfortunately, he knows everything that has happened.
David may wonder if he buries the secret or hides the secret forever, he could have his childhood
back, have his family back, and have his peaceful life back. The parallel construction of I could
have sentences show David s fear of the dirty truth of the family, and the content gives readers a
more intense and stronger feeling than other content does. Due to the parallel structure, David s
fear of the secret is very impressive for readers, it foreshadows that David wants his life back to
normal, thus it helps readers to understand why at the end David concludes that Uncle Frank s
suicide had solved all our problem (161). Overall, Watson writes two parallel structure sentences
like I didn t want to see... and I could have... to analyze David s inner world, thereby shedding
light on the characterization of a twelve years old boy, indicating that David was forced to grow up

Essay on Walgreens Diversity Issues
Walgreens diversity issues:
A weakness that was gained subsequent to the information gathered from research and surveys is
that as a company it is true that diversity is practiced but may differ at stores; stores tend to lack a
wide range of diversity. One may ask how that is possible. Let me explain stated Wasson, We
understand that we serve our customer and patient best when our workforce and suppliers reflect
our communities (Walgreens.com/diversity) which may be beneficial on a financial stance by
making customers feel more comfortable which may lead more spending but gives wrong

So we went ahead and had private conversations with employees to receive the truth Some stayed
firm; others stated that improvement will be necessary. Although the fact still stands that
Walgreens manages diversity systematically, issues such as loyalty, dishonesty, and trust in the
workplace still occur and maybe more often than expected.
Recommendations:
Walgreens is one of the companies that manage diversity well, as mentioned before Walgreens is
widely scattering diversity throughout training programs which are delivered at every level. In
such programs Walgreens make emphasis on what is expected from employees in concern
diversity as well as Walgreens obligations with diverse employees. The training programs
endorse cultural awareness to teach employees about others cultures and how to behave with
sensitivity. Walgreens has established comprehensive policies and programs to ensure
compliance with all applicable federal and state labor and employment laws. However,
according to our research and survey, Walgreens is facing a problem in how to practice diversity
in different stores. According to Melvin, Walgreens s diverse customers vary depending in which
area or suburb the store is located. In some stores Walgreens do not really have training diversity
programs. (For instance if a customer were to come from another neighborhood and shop at a

The Reintroduction of the Gray Wolf to Yellowstone Essay
The Reintroduction of the Gray Wolf to Yellowstone
Gauss Law states that no two organisms can occupy the same ecological niche without excluding
the other, but what happens when man gets involved with nature and tries to introduce a species
where it doesn t belong which in turn provides a second organism to fill the same niche as the first?
The results of human intervention have often been disastrous for the organism that we re
supposedly helping. Humans often times do not understand the complexity of the implications that
are caused directly through our intervention. In 1974, the gray wolf was listed on the Endangered
Species List, and in an effort to reestablish their populations, wolves were re introduced into

Since the introduction of the wolves, 300 sheep, 66 cattle, 1 horse, and 20 dogs have been killed
by these predators, and to call them anything else would be wrong.
When the wolves were first reintroduced, having 30 equally distributed breeding pairs was
enough to constitute a success. A breeding pair is defined as an adult male and female wolf
raising two or more pups in a year, where the pups are born between April and May and then
raised till December 31. With the reintroduction of the gray wolf, a recovery population goal had
to be established. That was the goal of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) for
the recovery of the wolf population for the northern Rocky Mountains. Wolf numbers needed to be
maintained at this level for at least three consecutive years. According to the USFWS 2002 was the
third year where there had been at least 30 breeding pairs throughout Wyoming, Montana, and
Idaho. After 2002, these wolves are still multiplying and the population continues to soar, even at
this very moment.
In the Greater Yellowstone area, the target goal was to maintain 15 wolf packs in the state of
Wyoming, seven of these packs residing outside the area of national parks. Mission accomplished.
As of December 2002, there were 22 documented packs in the state of Wyoming. Eight of the
twenty two are living outside the boundaries of national parks, yet the

Ernest Hemingway s A Special Code, Grace Under Pressure
Ernest Hemingway was a man who was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Growing up,
he was always encouraged to pursue the arts in any way he could. Being so close to nature and
experiencing World War I, World War II, and the Spanish Civil war, Hemingway s style showed
times of post war and poverty for the common man. Some of his best works are because of the
times he has spent in war. Stories such as the Old Man and the Sea, The Killers , The Undefeated ,
and The Big Two Hearted Riverwere all influenced by war and the times Hemingway spent
fighting for the cause. All of Hemingway s most famous works follow a special code, grace
under pressure. These codes tell how one must accept life for how it is. That we are not always
able to change it so the best we can do is take it as life hands it to us. In addition, that one should
stick to their own path in life and not make trouble for others. Hemingway s code show how one
should live their life in a way that is solely their life, which one should never try to inflict their
ways or values onto others. Hemingway uses grace under pressure to relate to real life events
and how one should handle it. In The Old Man and the Sea, before the boy and the old man
made their way to get ready for the old man s trip out to sea the next day, the boy sees how the
old man is aging. They were strange shoulders, still powerful although very old, and the neck was
still strong too and the creases did not show so much when the old man

Humanitarian Military Intervention Although non militant humanitarian intervention holds many superior traits to military intervention, sometimes global powers have no alternative except to demonstrate military force. Humanitarian military intervention must only be utilized in a limited set of circumstances. First, global powers must only employ military force to combat extreme catastrophes such as ethnic cleansing, genocide, and crimes against humanity. Second, global powers may use military intervention as a last resort, having exhausted all other non militant options. Finally, interventions who meet the first two criteria must only respond to the situation with a proportionate response. • 5. Narrative Essay On African American Culture As Americans, we are privileged with diverse experiences. With this comes a perceived understanding of many cultures and their influences but in fact full cultural literacy is impossible to achieve. My grandfather was born and raised in the backwoods of Louisiana during a turbulent time for African Americans. As a black man he lived in perpetual danger. Through raceriots, physical exploitation, and attempted rape, he has developed a much different opinion about gun reform than mine. So much so that my mother carries the many of the same opinions. My great aunt, on my grandfather s side, was a beautiful woman in her time. She was a tall 5 5 with long french hair that rested in little curls at the ends. Her skin was a light coffee color much like mine. Her facial features displayed an uncharacteristically delicate quality for her environment. she was a nexus for all types of attention, good and bad. When she was at the ripe age of sixteen a man, almost twice her age arrived to the front porch. He intended to inquire about a date. when the doorbell rang he crooked a sly smile, not expecting to be greeted by the stoic face of my great grandfather. My great grandmother exact words were something like That burly man weren t expecting your grand daddy. His smiled dropped so quick you could feel the breeze. I can ... • 6. Emma Kart Willard Thesis Statement Emma Hart Willard was an American educator whose groundbreaking feminist ideas fueled the development of schools for women and girls. Despite living during an era where women were regarded as intellectually inferior, Willard managed to progress quickly as an educator, eventually opening the United States first permanent female seminary. Her tireless efforts towards revolutionizing and expanding female educationopened doors for educated women and helped make education more gender inclusive. Born in Connecticut during 1787, Emma Hart Willard was the second youngest of seventeen children. Fortunately for Willard and her siblings, her father held progressive views regarding education and the inclusion of women in education. His encouragement resulted in her [acquiring] an education that was out of the ordinary for girls (Chadwick, n.d., para. 3). Initially, Willard s education was self taught and a significant part of it was her involvement in family discussions. Her parents and siblings made sure to include her in conversations about predominantly male topics such as politics, philosophy, world affairs and mathematics ( Emma Willard, n.d., para. 3). Those discussions only fueled her desire to learn and at the age of fifteen, Willard enrolled in school for the first time. (Chadwick, n.d., para 3). Once she was settled into the Berlin Academy, her local school, she began to progress rapidly. According to the EncyclopГ¦dia Britannica (2016), she started teaching at the Berlin Academy two years after her initial enrollment in 1802. Then, in 1806, she was granted the opportunity to be in charge of the Berlin Academy for one term. That opportunity no doubt influenced her later actions regarding the advancement of female education. In 1807, Willard accepted a teaching position in Massachusetts but she did not remain at the position for long. That same year, she accepted a position as principal at a girls academy located in Vermont (The Editors of EncyclopГ¦dia Britannica, 2016, para. 2). Her move to Vermont proved to be an important step in her life. In Vermont, she met her first husband, John Willard, and was introduced to his nephew, a student at the local college. • 9. Essay on Ragtime and Blues Influence on Jazz Ara Cho Ethno 50A 803 672 412 October 14, 2011 Seeing Ragtime and Blues as Parents of Jazz Jazz is a music genre that has complex characteristics and history of development and thus many musicians and scholars face troubles in defining what jazz is. In general, jazz is believed to have born in New Orleans. Jazz developed for the pleasure of the social dancers. According to the Understanding Jazz: What Is Jazz? of John F. Kennedy center for the Performing Arts, Jazz was created mainly by Afro Americans, and had elements of European and Afro American culture. Also, it emphasizes few elements of Jazz, which are swing feel, syncopation, and improvisation. These different culture and elements of jazz may be explained by how jazz ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus the similarity between ragtime and blues is significant but there are numerous differences between the two music styles. First, their origin was different. Even though they both had African influence as mentioned, ragtime was more strongly influenced by European music style, and blues was heavily African music style. According to Durk Sutro in his book Jazz for Dummies, Ragtime was European influenced, in the sense that it was composed, not improvised, and featured carefully crafted melodies and harmonies...ragtime could sound concisely European (ch.5). Although European influenced, there is some African influence such as rhythm and African banjo music as mentioned during the lecture. Ragtime rhythm was the rhythms of the black dancers who used their heels to make drum sounds, or to that of the black church singers who could vary the rhythms of a Christian hymn so much that a white Christian could not even recognize it (Tirro, pp.37). On the other hand, Blues were basically from work songs of African Americans slaves at the time. It is a native American music, the product of the black man in this country, or, to put it more exactly the way I have come to think about it, blues could not exist if the African captives had not become American captives (pp.17), said Jones and Baraka. • 10. Critical Functions Of Joint Operations Joint operations have certain critical functions that help utilize all the tools necessary to operate and fight jointly. Use of joint operations and joint functions is imperative at operational and strategic levels of military operations. During all joint missions, Joint Operations Planning Process (JOPP) and Joint Intelligence Planning of the Operating Environment (JIPOE) are critical. Each function within JOPP and each step within JIPOE help the commander make critical decisions. These decisions eliminate confusion and assist subordinate commanders in their mission planning. It also ensures all elements are aware of each other, their mission as well as the overall mission and the commander s intent. Joint Special Operations Task Force (JSOTF) Dagger originally developed the mission to rid Shah i Kot Valley of Al Qaeda and Taliban forces by using Afghan forces as the main element with preparatory air attacks and Close Air Support (CAS). Within a week, it became a joint operation with Task Force (TF) Mountain is taking the lead, becoming Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF) Mountain. This joint force consists of elements of the 10th Mountain Division, 101st Airborne Division, U.S. SOF, Australian SOF, U.S. Marines, plus local militias. • 11. The Hidden Horrors Of Mass Produced Food Sarah Berkowsky Ms. McGoldrick English 2A 5/23/17 The Hidden Horrors of Mass Produced Food The way we eat has changed more in the last fifty years than in the past ten thousand. (Food, Inc.) Farming first emerged as a large scale industry during the Industrial Revolution. The transition from small, local farms to larger, corporate owned businesses began when machines were more readily available and much more efficient. However, another factor in the creation of the current industrial food system, including factory farming, is the advent of fast food, beginning in the 1930s. Food had to be uniform and cheap for both the company and the consumers (Food, Inc.). Another contributing factor is increased demand for animal products, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Factory farming isn t just harming the environment, it is also extremely cruel to the animals on these farms. The American poultry industry kills approximately 8.6 million chickens for meat every year, and another 300 million hens produce eggs (A Closer), and the treatment of these chickens is anything but humane. A recent video published by The Huffington Post, Tyson: Exposed, shows the cruel treatment of chickens at several Tyson Foods chicken breeding facilities. The video is incredibly graphic, showing workers standing on birds heads to crush their skulls, kicking and beating birds, all while admitting that what they re doing cannot be exposed (Hanson). Tyson Foods is the largest chicken producer in the country, accounting for twenty one percent of all sales (Tyson Foods, Tyson Fact Book http://ir.tyson.com/investor relations/investor overview/tyson factbook /default.aspx). • 12. The Description Of A New World Called The Freezing World... Within her fictional prose piece The Description of a New World, Called the Blazing World , Margaret Cavendish s intellectually fueled construction of her blazing world reveals the importance of education and learning in the development of society and understanding of a new ever expanding world. Her writings and desires of integrating education and learning into the development of government parallel struggles of the restoration period of England and offer her own solutions to its recreation. Upon entering a new and fantastic world filled with creatures never before seen or described the Empress of the new world exemplifies the cultural attempt to use scientific hypothesis and reason to better understand the unknown. Introduced to individuals of colors ranging from azure to deep purple and all between, the Empress seeks to further evaluate this intriguing phenomenon wondering, whether they were made by bare reflection of light, without the assistance of small particles , or by the help of well ranged and ordered atoms, or by a continual agitation of little globules, or by some pressing and reacting motion (Cavendish 1159). Margaret cavendish s description of the Empress attempt to apply current scientific theories of molecules in evaluating the reasoning behind the bizarre colorings of the peoples of this new world exemplifies a new attempt to reach beyond bare visuals. She begins questioning and applying scientific knowledge to the world in order to better comprehend its workings. The Empress experience parallels the recent discovery and exploration of new worlds during the time of Cavendish and provides a fictional example of the way world explorers were attempting to better understand new species and lands through a scientific method of hypothesis and reasoning. Continuing throughout the work, Cavendish establishes the importance of education in preparing individuals for higher roles in society. The Empress erected schools and several societies thoroughly educating her people and anointing them high value occupations and positions in society, making, the ape men her chemists, the satyrs her Galenic physicians, the fox men her politicians, the spider and lice men her mathematicians... When Federico Garcia Lorca talked about his new play, The House of Bernarda Alba, he said that it was pure realism and did not have a drop of poetry in it, however if you look closely you can see expressionism elements. The tragedy of the play has been emphasised by symbolism and imagery to help the unfolding of his tragic tale by presenting the fears, the fact that They ve been robbed of the capacity of hope and tensions of all the characters; showing the bleak ending for the girls. This symbolism is rather tragic in a way as everyone knows that white does not stay clean forever. On the other hand the traditional colour the black stand for is death, and there is an abundance of that in this play. Spending time at the lake as an adult has made the man realize that his life has become unsettling and restless, like the tides of the ocean. Having brought his son to this place of the past with him, the man makes inevitable comparisons between his own son and his childhood self, and between himself as an adult and the way he remembers his father from his childhood perspective. When the man lay in bed early one morning, he heard his son sneak out to take a canoe out on the lake, just as he used to do when he was a child. By living a dual existence the man could see from two perspectives; his son sneaking out early in the morning, his father lying in bed listening to his son sneak out. I began to sustain the illusion that he was I, and therefore, by simple transposition, that I was my father (White 151). One of the benchmarks of a good reader is fluency. LaBerg and Samuels, 1976 define fluency as the process of automatically, accurately and rapidly recognizing words. Using the words they omitted, I recorded them and made a chart in the classroom and drilled them daily until they memorized the words. As I reflect now on that method, I realized that being an untrained teacher, I did not see the importance of allowing my pupils to experience these words in a reading context. Now that I have been trained, I realize that along with teaching and drilling words in isolation, these words must be taught in context and pupils given the opportunity to use the words in writing activities. The use of flashcards with the words written on it is also a good tool to use along with word lists. Nicholson (1998) suggests using flashcards to foster automaticity in word recognition and teaching children to read words faster can improve reading comprehension dramatically. 2) The Language Experience Approach is another method I would use to teach sight words in my instructional programme. In Kant s work, categorical imperative was established in order to have a standard rationale from where all moral requirements derive. I was pulled by two different forces after Kant defined happiness as the state of a rational being in the world in the whole of whose existence everything goes according to his wish and will. This unconventional way of defining term of happiness strands away from the definition of happiness written by philosopher in the name of John Stuart Mill. Mill defines happiness as a state of maximizing pleasure and minimizing pain. In the writing, Immanuel argues that possession of wealth, health, or bravery can be used for afflicted purposes and these characteristics cannot be essentially good. Both Peter Pan and Wizard of Oz, use childhood to promote The Golden Age . According to Marriam Webster.com, this term is described as, a period of great happiness, prosperity, and achievement. But the golden age is also defined as a period where authors discovered that children were more than innocent angels and that their childhoods are important, joyous, and unique. Both authors, Barrie and Baum show this throughout their novels. Barrie uses imagination and a fear of growing up while, Baum uses irony and a powerful symbol of home. In the Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Baum introduces the main character, Dorothy. She is a 16 year old girl that lives in Kanas with her aunt and uncle. She gets very little attention and has only one friend: her dog Toto. Dorothy is described as a child and stays a child throughout the entire book, even when facing some difficult tasks. The iron in that time period was used for tools and jewelry. Around 1200 B.C, we learned how to breakdown iron from compounds. Used for tools, weapons, house implements, and etc. This marked the beginning of the Iron Age. Then in 200 B.C we learned how to produce iron on our own. By now iron became essential in blacksmithing. It also became important in Rome in the early A.D s. It was used in their homes and wars. But iron mostly had impurities, like carbon and other metals. That was good since those with impurities were stronger than ones without. In 1786 scientists Gaspard Monge, C. A. Vandermonde, and Claude Louis Berthollet found an alloy stronger than iron. Steel was a mix of carbon and iron, and in this age, which can be called the New Iron Age, Iron is the most important metal and mostly used. But only in the form of steel. By being so ambiguous in his meaning Bartleby can keep his emotions or feelings towards society, work, humanity etc. hidden from sight. Induction is where the production rate of the clock chemical increases as the increases as the concentration of the solution increases. Whereas, Inhibition is where the chemical reacts with the clock chemical, increasing the concentration. The increase in the rate can only occur if all of the inhibitor chemical is consumed within the reaction (S.J Preece, 1999). Some examples of clock reactions are the arsenic (III) sulfide clock reaction, and Landolt iodine clock oxidation of bisulphite by iodate. This specific reaction is stated to be one of the most favourable clock reactions, showing a deep blue colour within a matter of seconds. This specific reaction involves two colourless solutions that mix together after a certain amount of time it yields a blue colour change. The chemical equilibrium is a formula used to describe the rate in reverse reactions. Chemical Equilibria: Rate = k [A]^p [B]^q The rate law will also be used to analyse the concentrations, and to determine whether the reaction is zero order, first order or a second order reaction. Secondary data obtained from another investigation was rate = k[IO3] 1 (Lyle, Department of Chemistry). A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Currently the country is home to Kurds, Armenians, Assyrians, Christians, Druze, Alawite Shia and Arab Sunnis, the last of who make up a majority of the Muslim population, (BBC). Prior to World War I, the area was under control of the Ottoman Empire, after the war the empire was broken up and France took control of the area. Tracy was really worried about their exit diagrams around the hospital that they aren t up to code. So when I was reading I focused on finding out about the exit diagrams. So you re probably wondering what an exit diagram is so let me explain. When you walk into any hospital or surgery center really any building you will see a picture on the wall saying, You are here on what looks like a picture hanging on the wall. So the rule in the handbook about fire safety is that the surgery center has to have one in every part of the building, the bigger the building the more exit diagrams the facility needs to have. So as I got to reading in the handbook it made it very clear that these exit diagrams should be easy to read and understand. So after I read that part I took a walk around the facility just to see what their exit diagrams even looked like. I hadn t paid much attention to this so I was curious to see what they looked like. As I walked around the facility looking at the different exit diagrams the more I felt like they were the furthest from easy to understand. So after I was done taking my walk around the surgery center I went into Tracy s office she asked me what I read and what I had focused on in the reading today. So I told her about the exit diagrams and what they needed to pass code for when they get surveyed in the upcoming months. I asked her to come with me so I could show her some things, we then took a walk around the facility I asked her how easy she thought these exit diagrams were to read. Tracy looked at me and said you know I ve never really looked at the exit diagrams because I know this place like the back of my hand, I ve been here for so long she said to me. • 36. Individualism Is Celebrated As An Achievement Of Our... In our modern society, individualism is celebrated as an achievement of our culture, economy, and success. It basks in the light of personal success overthrowing the success of the community, and believes that to be personally successful is more important than the success and solidarity among the people you identify with. In the 19th century of Latin America, this ideology was forced onto a society that perceived itself as a collective culture. The success of the majority was more important than the success of the individual to the non Europeans of Latin America. To be successful for the community was success in itself, as you were helping the group. If the community suffered, then you would suffer as well. There was not one person in the community who was at fault for the majority failure, but the whole community was at fault. The European individualistic ideology took the traditional collective perspective and destroyed it with class systems, culture conflict, economic change, and lack of options for the people of Latin America to change the course of their land s ideologies. The beginning of the indoctrination of individualismwas the divide between the eliteand the folk in Latin American. The elite people of Latin America were those from the mother country of the colony, or descendents of people from the mother country. They represented the wealth, skills, power, and birthright of those in the highest class in Latin America (5). The folk of Latin America were the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Deforestation is a global issue, not only because it happens all around the world, in multiple countries but also because its causes are produced by globally drive motives. Politically, Socially and Environmentally, deforestation is a global issue that delves deeply in almost all aspects of organism life. This essay will explore into the intricacy of the global issue of deforestation and its surface and root causes. Although deforestation occurs mostly in tropical rainforests, which are primarily in developing countries, this does not equate it to national problems, instead it is an issue, which through the rise of economic globalization, means that the global population are bearing down on the forests as well. The surface issues are agricultural expansion and infrastructure expansion, with deeper root causes, which fall under the political and social scope. These underlying causes are fundamental forces that underpin the more obvious or proximate causes of deforestation (Geist, Lambin, 2001, pg.8) This essay will draw from academic sources and will elaborate on author s theories and opinions on the topic of the causes of deforestation. By doing this, a mixture of neo liberal, liberal and emancipatory social action approaches will be taken to be able to fully understand the surface and underlying causes of deforestation. ... • 38. The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner by Randal Jarrell In the first line of the The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner Jarrell states, When I died they washed me out of the turret with a hose (5). Jarrell does not elaborate; he makes it very clear that war is gruesome. However, the literary techniques used in the other four lines of Death of the Ball Turret Gunner give this theme even deeper meaning and make his point so effective. Jarrell criticizes the governmentfor its insensitivity toward the fate if its solders. Jarrell does mention how scared the gunner is, or call out the government for the brutalities and terrors the gunner has witnessed and experienced; he simply states the events that occurred, allowing the reader to make these conclusions for himself. Jarrell uses imagery to convey the gruesome horrors of combat, perplexity to simultaneously establish the gunner s emotional condition, and finally tone to portray the government s perspective of soldiers that die. The imagery Jarrell uses not only conveys the terrifying situation the ball turret gunner is in, it also exhibits the difference between the gunner s previous experiences and his current situation. The first line indicates the ball turret gunner safe. He mentions his mother s sleep (1), meaning the sleep during which he is in her womb. This gives the reader the impression that he came from a protected, warm, and comfortable environment. This environment contradicts with his present situation being, hunched in its belly till my wet fur froze (2). The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As well, Shakespeare s ability to provoke feeling and reaction to his writing is also what sets him apart from other common writers. The single, most important of these possibilities are Hamlet s internal conflicts within his own mind, body, and soul. From the first Act, Hamlet displays a substantial amount of concern for his mother. quot;...Why, she would hang on him / As if increase of appetite had grown / By what it fed on; and yet, within a month / Let me not think; Frailty, thy name is woman! quot; Clearly, Hamlet s concern for the Queen, his mother, is genuine. Understandably, Hamlet is disturbed. This unfortunate turn of events is often questioned since Gertrude, the same woman who had instilled a great sense of religion in Hamlet, contradicts such a value that proves quot;Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. quot; (Nordling) While regarding this as the principal means for Hamlet s frustration, it is not until seeing a spirit form that Hamlet decided to seek the truth, and ultimately, exact revenge. With the basis of the medium voter and monotonicity theorem, the model is portrayed as a game in which actors first pitch their respected preferences to other participants, attempting to influence them, and then form coalitions and adjust their own positions on the issue according to the response they receive from other actors, repeating these steps in order as needed (Bueno de Mesquita, 1997, p. 238). • 53. The Reintroduction of the Gray Wolf to Yellowstone Essay The Reintroduction of the Gray Wolf to Yellowstone Gauss Law states that no two organisms can occupy the same ecological niche without excluding the other, but what happens when man gets involved with nature and tries to introduce a species where it doesn t belong which in turn provides a second organism to fill the same niche as the first? The results of human intervention have often been disastrous for the organism that we re supposedly helping. Humans often times do not understand the complexity of the implications that are caused directly through our intervention. In 1974, the gray wolf was listed on the Endangered Species List, and in an effort to reestablish their populations, wolves were re introduced into Yellowstone... Since the introduction of the wolves, 300 sheep, 66 cattle, 1 horse, and 20 dogs have been killed by these predators, and to call them anything else would be wrong. When the wolves were first reintroduced, having 30 equally distributed breeding pairs was enough to constitute a success. A breeding pair is defined as an adult male and female wolf raising two or more pups in a year, where the pups are born between April and May and then raised till December 31. With the reintroduction of the gray wolf, a recovery population goal had to be established. As of December 2002, there were 22 documented packs in the state of Wyoming. Eight of the twenty two are living outside the boundaries of national parks, yet the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 54. Ernest Hemingway s A Special Code, Grace Under Pressure Ernest Hemingway was a man who was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. Growing up, he was always encouraged to pursue the arts in any way he could. Being so close to nature and experiencing World War I, World War II, and the Spanish Civil war, Hemingway s style showed times of post war and poverty for the common man. Some of his best works are because of the times he has spent in war. Stories such as the Old Man and the Sea, The Killers , The Undefeated , and The Big Two Hearted Riverwere all influenced by war and the times Hemingway spent fighting for the cause. All of Hemingway s most famous works follow a special code, grace under pressure. These codes tell how one must accept life for how it is. That we are not always able to change it so the best we can do is take it as life hands it to us. In addition, that one should stick to their own path in life and not make trouble for others. Hemingway s code show how one should live their life in a way that is solely their life, which one should never try to inflict their ways or values onto others. Hemingway uses grace under pressure to relate to real life events and how one should handle it. In The Old Man and the Sea, before the boy and the old man made their way to get ready for the old man s trip out to sea the next day, the boy sees how the old man is aging. They were strange shoulders, still powerful although very old, and the neck was still strong too and the creases did not show so much when the old man ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
