writer states the different types are Coercive, Authoritative, Affiliative, Democratic, Pacesetting, and
Coaching (Goleman, 2000). Coercive leaders demand immediate compliance. Authoritative leaders
mobilize people toward a vision. Affiliative leaders create emotional bonds, and harmony. Democratic
leaders build consensus through participation. Pacesetting leaders expect excellence and self direction,
and coaching leaders develop people for the future, (Goleman, 2000). The reading state out of the six,

I think Project Based Learning has a more positive impact on learning and understanding than
traditional learning. When I was an elementary student, I always enjoyed projects more than lectures
because I was never bored. When I m being talked at in a lecture about new information the important
points tend to go in one ear and out the other. I also know that I understand a concept better when I m
shown an example or when I try it out myself. When I was in 3rd grade, we had to make a simple
machine, in science. We had two months to work on a machine on our own time at home. We had to

everybody has been given a chance at happiness. Life has never denied anyone of at least a glimpse of

Bradbury displays this idea in his novel Dandelion Wine. The main character, Doug Spaulding, has
many instances during his summer that supports this theme. Through the loss, change, and pain Doug
both experiences and views, he can always find happiness around him and in the life he lives.
Doug experiences many instances of loss during his summer. Between the moving of his best friend to
the death of his great grandmother, Doug s life becomes very different than it was before the summer
began. These events may cause one to believe that Doug is unhappy with his life, however it is very
much the opposite. By the end of summer, Doug is very optimistic about the next summer, saying next
year s going to be even bigger, days will be brighter, nights longer and darker (Bradbury 235). Though
the very small world of his has been flipped upside down within a few months, Doug is still happy and
knows that things are only going to get better from here. One specific instance of Doug overcoming
loss is when his best friend, John Huff, moves away. After Doug sees John for the last time, Doug
blows up in a fit of rage screaming You, John! John, you re my enemy, you hear? You re no friend of
mine! (Bradbury 111). This loss was very hard on Doug because he is very young, twelve years old,
and hasn t had to deal with anything like this. After calming down, Doug moves on and is able to find

I was required to do a lot of physical therapy sessions to try and loosen my ligaments enough to
qualify for the team because of the tightness caused from my spine. I was able to do cross country for

The process of writing was one that as a kid loomed over me because the idea of expressing the
feelings that were inside out onto a paper always stumped me. How could I be asked to take what was
held privately in my head and manage to make sense of it all, enough that others could understand?
The struggle to manage my feelings into tangible ideas stemmed from my minor dyslexia and it was
apparent in my ability to read and write. The spelling errors that riddled my writing and my inability
to differentiate opposites while speaking were clear indicators that my minor dyslexia was something

having him recognizable, despite the name on the mail box to push recognition. The weakest aspect of
the piece is acting. Bilbo is stiff, and white he is in the act of taking the mail out of the mailbox, he
breaks the fourth wall by looking at the viewer. It would be more successful acting if he was looking
at the action he was performing.
The strongest aspect of this piece is line direction. In the water they encircle the action, and in the
rocks they lead the viewer down into the water. They also aid in the creation of texture, rhythm,
pattern, and framing. The texture created by the lines in the water reflect ripples that would actually
occur in the real world.
