Modernism vs Neo-Traditionalism Essay
Modernism vs Neo Traditionalism: A debate on the merits and failures of two major competing
paradigms in architecture and urban planning.
Beyond the term modernism underlies one of the greatest ideas in architectural development.
Modernism was meant to provide more green areas, cheaper housing and more efficient use of
space. This was to be accomplished by creating vertically dense spaces with the use of the new
inventions of the nineteenth century, such as steel, glass, electricity and elevators. By decreasing
costs of building, modernists hoped to provide cheaper housing, affordable to almost anybody. The
modernist movement was also promising to meet the growing demand for office spaces, hence the
motto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Form follows function , said Sullivan, one of the founding fathers of modernism. As a response
to mechanization and industrialization, modernism was extremely beneficial to companies that
needed office space. To have a skyscraper built was a great investment on the company s side, not
only did it provide the necessary office space, it also allowed to lease the remaining offices to
other companies, thus making a profit. Modernism also appealed to the general population since
the rise in birth rates provided a greater demand for housing. Many argued that same modular
spaces would promote equality among its inhabitants. Modernism also promised to create more
public spaces with green areas and waterworks by the virtue of vertical density. Supposedly, there
would be more space.
Not to forget, the building and maintenance costs of a modernist building were significantly less
than that of a traditional one.
However, nor Federal Plaza, a textbook modernist landscape, nor housing projects seem to have
public spaces around them. Modernism was applied selectively, leaving out perhaps one of its most
important functions. And although Mies van der Rohe did say the less is more in terms of
ornamentation, there do not seem to be any sources that argue that modernist buildings have to be
so redundant. There s no reason that modernist architecture and can not have some

Bank Chapter 9 Study Guide
CHAPTER #1 KEY TERMS Competitive Advantage (p.4) An advantage that a bank, or any
company, has over its competitors is that firm s competitive advantage. This advantage may allow
it generate more sales revenue, increase its profit margins, or deliver better customer service.
Whatever the advantage, it is what makes it better (the advantage) than its competitors.
Stakeholders (p. 18) Stakeholders are groups or individuals who affect or are affected by the
company s actions and/or performance. They are interested in the company s survival and
profitability. Stakeholders may be internal (e.g. teammates, managers, executives) or external (e.g.
communities, regulators, governments, etc.) Chapter #2 KEY TERMS Strategic (long range)
Planning (p. 39) An activity that is used by a company s executive management to set priorities
and organize resources to ensure that the company is working toward the common goal. It is a top
down process which could predict future success based on anticipated growth. Scenario Planning
(p. 40) is a strategic planning method in which managers envision different scenarios to anticipate
plausible future outcomes. Using the scenario planning, management takes the strategic plan, then
asks what if and prepares for those results. Chapter #3 KEY TERMS Five Forces Model (p. 64)

Lifetime Goals Essay
The realization of lifetime goals denotes an individual s success. As such, as an ambitious
person, I usually work towards the achievement of my lifetime goals. Personally, I have several
lifetime goals that I seek to achieve both in the short run as well as the long term. In this respect,
I have a dream of becoming a lawyer specializing in international relations. Furthermore, I also have
a lifetime dream of becoming a professor in the social sciences field of Psychology. Moreover, I
have a lifetime goalof establishing a non profit organization that would offer support to the
underprivileged groups in society. I believe that my determination in academic and extra curricular
undertakings will play a central role in fostering the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this respect, I have always been interested in learning different languages that could foster my
understanding of different cultures. I have taken a course in Advanced Placement Spanish
Language and Culture that has been integral in facilitating my understanding of the foreign
language as well as other cultural aspects of the Spanish people. Learning foreign languages is an
added advantage to my ambition of becoming a lawyer in the area of international relations.
Besides learning foreign languages, I also engage in community service as an extra curricular
activity. Participating in community service provides an opportunity to interact with different
groups and share ideas that could bring positive change. In this regard, I find the community
service experiences as inspiring to my pursuit of becoming a lawyer since such efforts usually boil
down to the realization of equality among people and groups from diverse outcomes. Therefore,
engaging in extracurricular activities that seek to promote positive change in the society have been
crucial towards supporting my lifetime goals besides contributing positively to the underserved
cohorts in the U.S.
Participation in community service also motivates me to pursue the lifelong goal of establishing a
non profit organization that seeks to empower the underprivileged groups in the society. Besides,
my love for the courses in the social sciences motivates me to exert

Similarities Between Montag And John In Fahrenheit 451
We need not to be let alone. We need to be really bothered once in awhile. How long is it since
you were really bothered? About something important, about something real? (Fahrenheit 451).
When Ray Bradbury wrote this he wanted to get the message across that everyone needs to live a
life of passion, and if you are never really bothered by anything, what kind of life are you living?,
are you okay with that? In the book Fahrenheit 451, by Ray BradburyGuy Montag wants to seek
knowledge within the books, that are forbidden in their society. In the story By the Waters of
Babylon , by Stephen Vincent Benet John wants to go on a journey to enlightenment and bring
back knowledge to his society. The similarities between John and Montag are undeniable... Show

Montag is hiding his true feelings for books. Behind each of these books, there s a man that s
what interests me (51). Montag is holding a book in his hand when he says this, and when he says
this he is saying that books interest him. In his society having knowledge is not acceptable but
Montag is keeping the secret that he wants to become knowledgeable. On John s journey he has
found knowledge within books and wants to share with his people. His father does not believe the
society can handle this information quite yet. Benet writes If you eat too much truth at once you
may die of the truth (184). John wants to inform his people of his new information but he needs to
slowly feed the information to them. By not sharing this important information he is keeping
secrets from his society. In this careful investigation it is obvious that John and Montag both are

Eliam Diamond lives on the shores of Lake Malawi. Diamond is a weaver, making mats out of
dried palm leaves. A six foot sleeping mat takes him four days to make and sells for as little as
four cents, not enough to buy what little food there is in Malawi. So he relies on handouts. A few

It is unfair that 80 percent of global GDP of $30 trillion accrues to only 20 percent of the world s
population and the remaining 80 percent of the people only have a 20 percent share of world
income.
Although it is unrealistic to expect that Singer s proposition, that we give ten percent of our annual
income to aid the poor, will be implemented in full, I do believe that American citizens, particularly
the considerably wealthy Americans, should contribute more to poverty efforts. Although I do not
have a round sum in mind that all citizens in America should contribute to the poor, I do believe
that everyone should at least give something. In addition to Singer s stress on individual giving, I
think it is necessary to examine related issues such as increasing Overseas Development Assistance
(ODA), increasing market access for developing countries, promoting good governance, and
encouraging debt relief in the poorest countries.
According to the State of the World s Children 2001, a child born today in the developing world
has a 4 out of 10 chance of living in extreme poverty. Absolute poverty is poverty by any

Powerful Women In The Chrysanthemums By John Steinbeck
Women can now perform tasks much better than men can do and no one can be able to prevent
them from achieving things that they desire in life because what drives them is stronger than the
forces against them. However there are still a number of women today that have low self esteem
and confidence issues. The restoration on confidence and self esteem depends on the people that
surround them in order for them to believe in themselves. In this story there is this women that is
pictured as a strong women but at the end of the day she struggles with her inner feelings. In the
story The Chrysanthemums by John Steinbeck, Elisa is a women stuck in a life she cannot escape

Women should never underestimate themselves at any moment and they should always do what
makes them happy because women are very beautiful, strong and a source of strength to many
who have lost hope in life. Elisa proves this by stating that, I am strong. I never knew before how
strong (Thomas 50). Nobody should be strong enough to discourage a woman from achieving all
she wants in life and people should support women in raising their self esteem because women
are all we need to move forward because a woman is the real definition of love, care and
progress. This is seen in the story when Elisa lays her husband s suit, shoes and tie methodically
and this shows that despite the oppression she is a care

Synthesis Of Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report
The objective surrounding the experiment outlined by this report is to perform an SN1 reaction to
synthesize tert butyl chloride while recording the reactivity of the compound with sodium iodide
and silver nitrate reagents. Nucleophilic substitution reactions, denoted SN1 or SN2, are
characterized by a nucleophile(electron pair donor) reacting with an electrophile (electron pair
acceptor) to break a bond at a carbon to form a new bond with that carbon.1 In order for the
reaction to take place, a compound or element must break away from the electrophile, so it may
accept electrons from the nucleophile.2 The octet rule must not be disobeyed and thus, the leaving
group allows space for other electrons to attach. Figure 1.1 (right) shows a typical... Show more

For this experiment, the nucleophile will be considered the chloride ion from HCl. The chloride
ion in this case constitutes a good nucleophile because it is charged with a 1 and is relatively low
in electronegativity.5 Since the chloride ion will be donating a pair of its electrons, the fact that it
is negatively charge indicates that it indeed has extra electrons to donate and thus its nucleophilic
character is greater as a result. Additionally, the electronegativity of the chloride ion is a showing
of how willing the ion is to donate elctrons, or rather how tightly the chloride ion holds those
electrons to the nucleus. A low electronegativity indicates that the ion is larger in size and allows
electrons to float more freely and also donates those outer electrons more

Examples Of Insider Threat
Insider threat: What is insider threat? What is an insider threat? By definition, an insider threat is a
malicious threat where it attacks organisations that comes from the people within the organisation,
getting information and exit without been caught depending on how they want this attack to be
executed. Example of an Insiders threat is employees, in most cases, who have inside information
of that organisation, give these information to other rival companies with a high price. Another
example of insider threat, is by social engineering. These people from the outside poses as

The Collapse Of The Space Shuttle Before Columbia
In the year of 2003, on February 1, a tragic accident had occurred in the atmosphere above Texas
as the space shuttle called Columbia was on it s way to land at the Kennedy Space Center. The
shuttle itself was on its 28th mission and was just one of the five space shuttles that was used
amongst NASA. But on this particular day, it wasn t like the rest because astronauts are supposed
to return home safely; that s not what happened on this day. There were seven astronauts that were
inside the shuttle. Their names were Rick Husband, David Brown, Michael Anderson, Laurel Clark,
William McCool, Kalpana Chawla, and Ilan Ramon. They had all died in an explosion within the
shuttle itself.
NASA was trying to figure out how this could ve happened. They ran through many possibilities
of what could ve gone wrong and they came to the conclusion that the reason the shuttle had
exploded when coming through the atmosphere was because a chunk of foam hilt a wing of the
craft. This was suspected to be the reason when tape was analyzed of the takeoff before
Columbia went into space. NASA wanted to know if it was the real reason but didn t want
anyone else to know of the issues besides them. The Department of Defense had asked
permission from the people working for NASA to use orbital spy cameras to analyze the problem.
But NASA had said no to their offer and went on to analyze and check the disaster for themselves
so that they knew what the problem was. They call this a common check .

The Impact Of Gough Whitlam On Australia
In order to change something, one must alter the nature of the content.
Gough Whitlam remains one of Australia s few leaders who can be truly said to have changed
Australia, even for the brief period of his time in government. Elected on December 5th 1972 his
government brought upon a vast range of reforms in the 1071 days it held office (Thompson,
2014). Within the first year alone, Labor passed 203 bills, which is the most bills passed than any
other federal government had passed in a single year (Betts, 2015). The three bills that will be
presented through this essay are the Education system, with what it was like before and after the
Whitlam Government came into power, what Health care was like before and after the Whitlam
Government and what the Indigenous Australians went through before and after the Whitlam
Government.
Before the Whitlam Government became in power, the federal government s involvement in
education was small and limited to granting the odd income tax concessions, scholarships and to
direct participation in the funding of universities and selected school facilities. Universities were
the only form of education that received specific Commonwealth grants before 1962 1963, by
which the Commonwealth had funded universities with half their running costs (Blackburn, 1993).

Carbon Pollution
As of mid 2017 it has been recorded that a concentration 407 parts per million of Carbon Dioxide
are present in the atmosphere. The current Carbon Dioxide concentration in our atmosphere is the
highest recorded in the past 20 million years and it is due to human activities; mainly fossil fuel
consumption and deforestation. This tremendous increase in malicious greenhouse gases in our
atmosphere has started to have a noticeable impact on our earth. These being increases, and
decreases in temperature throughout the planet and more constant and powerful natural disasters.
These effects have mobilized the efforts of governments throughout different continents to start
making significant change in the policies regarding climate change. carbon offsets, carbon trading
and cap and trade are concepts being implemented throughout countries with the intention of
limiting the amount of CO2 major industries are permitted of releasing. Although, these concepts
were created with upright intent, the industries that such concepts were created for have found
ways of corrupting these programs. This is because all three of the previous concepts have
loopholes in which a company can purchase the right to release as much carbon dioxideas they are
willing to spend for it. It is imperative to acknowledge that there are many defects with these
concepts, therefore people need to understand and require for improved guidelines against major
companies and their carbon dioxide footprints. Furthermore,

Foss v. Harbottle
In September 1835, Victoria Park Company was set up to establish a residential area to the east
of Wilmslow Road, an estate of substantial houses in spacious grounds. The prosperous business
and professional families could live there. Richard Foss and Edward Starkie were two minority
shareholders, and claimed that the property of the company had been misapplied and various
mortgages were given improperly over the company s property. During the general meeting, they
said that no action should be taken against them. At last, the Court dismissed and rejected the
two shareholders claim, and held that a breach of duty by the directors of the company was a
wrong done to the company for which it alone could sue. The first reason is because of the
proper plaintiff rule is that a wrong done to the company may be vindicated by the company alone
where the corporation has separate legal entity. The second reason is the majority rule principle , it
states that if the alleged wrong can be confirmed or ratified by a simple majority of members in a
general meeting, then the court will not interfere, cadit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Lean Manufacturing Is Not Just A Production Method
Introduction
Lean manufacturing is not just a production method. It is a way of life. One could say that it is
simply a way of providing customers what they want, at a price they can afford, when they want it
(Leaning Forward). However, it is much more than just satisfying the customer s needs.
Lean manufacturing originated after WWII in Japan to help revitalize their manufacturing industry.
The industry was booming in the United States because of the revolutionary invention of Henry
Ford s Model T and the creation of the flow production, but the lack of variety created demand and
Toyota answered that demand (Lean).
Kiichiro Toyoda and his team at Toyota realized by modifying the system they could make the

Pull Flow is the concept of a continuous flow of production and enables operators to identify and
pull defective products from the production line. Kaizen is the approach used by employees to
implement continuous improvements to a manufacturing process (Gembutsu).
Muda is the concept of wasting resources to create something with no value. The types of wasted
include over production time, inventory, transportation, process inefficiency, defects, and
unnecessary motion (Vorne Industries).
Jidoka is the process of identifying a defect before getting to the finished product and is
accomplished by automation. It is carried out by the automation knowing what a product defect is
and alerting an operator (Gembutsu).
Takt is the method used to align the customers demand with the production and is paced by using
Takt Time. Takt Time is the pace of production and is calculated by dividing production time by
customer demand (Gembutsu).

The American Heart Association (2011) states that, Therapeutic hypothermiais the only intervention
demonstrated to improve neurologic recovery after cardiac arrest (Pp 77). Recommendations range
between 32 and 36 degrees centigrade for 12 to 36 hours. Cooling may be achieved through either
introduction of cooled, isotonic, non glucose containing fluid, or surface cooling interventions like
ice packs or cold packs. The AHA states, however, that patient core temperaturemust be monitored
by an esophageal thermometer, a pulmonary artery catheter, or a bladder catheter and that
peripheral temperature measurements via axillary, aural, or oral thermometers are inadequate for
measuring core temperatures in targeted temperature management. Therefore, while the AHA does
recommend initiation of therapeutic hypothermia by EMS personnel in certain situations, agencies
must carry and be trained in the use of equipment to adequately measure the patient s core
temperature. Further, the AHA states that therapeutic hypothermia results in increased neurologic
function post cardiac arrest but does not identify a timeframe for initiation for these protocols, let
alone explore whether or not initiation of post cardiac arrest targeted temperature management by
EMS influences patient outcomes. According to a study published in the

My First Year In High School
Have you ever looked up from whatever you were doing and see the girl that you want to spend
your whole life with, the girl who shares some characteristics with you, who is looking right at
you, but you are too scared to say or do anything? It was autumn and the air was cold and crisp.
The bell just rang Kotaro! Let s go, don t wantto be late to class on the first day of school! Yama
said with excitement in his voice. I ll be right there! I said as I packed my belongings into my
backpack. This is my third year in high school, and next year is my last, so I have to make these
days count. As I walked towards the school entrance, leaves were blown into the air by the wind
and the smell of oak wood trees filled my lungs. There were students everywhere enlightened to get
to class; the sound of autumn leaves crackling when students stepped on them made a very
satisfying sound to new. I could still taste the flavour of my peanut buttersandwich that I had this
morning for breakfast; It was quite cold out, so I had my hands inside my pocket, gasping for
warmness. Hey Yama! I m here, let s head to class now. I said. Yeah Kotaro, I m so happy that
we have our first class together! Yama said excitedly. Yes, I m happy for us too! My sophomore

I often think about my future but can t express it to anyone but Yama because I m a very shy person.

made me and Yama introduce ourselves and so we did.

Rotational Equilibrium Lab Report
An object that has rotational equilibrium, or is balances, has a net torque of 0. The torque of an
object is directly proportional to the distance from the applied force to the pivot point, the applied
force and its angle; and the formula is T=F*d*sinОё. In this laboratory, we unbalanced and
balanced a meter stick by hanging different masses from different distance of the pivot point. In
addition, the massof the meter stick was found using the torque formula. The First step was to find
where the meter had rotational equilibrium, and that it is the same point where the forceof gravity
acts. In our meter stick was where it marks 0.497m. Once we had the meter stick balanced, a
mass of 0.268kg (m1) with the help of a clip was hanged from a distance of 0.463m (d1) from the
pivot point. Creating a torque of 1.216Nm (using counter clockwise as positive direction), we had
to balance the meter using a mass of 0.518kg (m2). Since the force applied was the weight of the
masses, and both torque must be equal to balance the meter stick. We came up with the equation:
(m2) (g) (d2) = (m1) (g) (d1), consequently,d2=(m1)(g)(d1)/(m2)(g) , and it was equal to 0.23m.
Then, we locate the mass at that distance from the pivot point and it work.... Show more content on

On one side of the meter were acting two masses and in the other just one mass. These masses
were located at different distance from the pivot point. The two masses on one side were:

at 0.3m (d3). Therefore, we made the equation: (m3) (g) (d3) = [(m2) (g) (d2)] + [(m1) (g) (d1)]
and then, m3=( [(m2) (g) (d2)] + [(m1) (g) (d1)])/((g) (d3) ). The resulting m3 was 0.307kg. After
placing the obtained mass at the stated distance (d3), the meter stick was

The World Every Day ( Exxon )
the world every day ( Exxon ). Part of its expansion strategy involves integrating its different
operating divisions. For example, over 90% of its chemical capacity is integrated with its natural
gas and refining operations. This allows for cross utilization of resources, ultimately boosting
efficiency and reducing costs. Technology is at the forefront of ExxonMobil s strategy. Newer
technology allows for more environmentally conscious and efficient operations, which can save the
firm time and money, while reducing its effect on the environment ( Exxon ).
ExxonMobil has several large competitors in this sector, such as Chevron Corp., Royal Dutch
Shell, and BP. Chevron is the second largest oil company in the United States, and is often
compared side by side with Exxon when performance is being analyzed. Royal Dutch Shell is an
enormous oil and gas producer, owning the largest retail fuel network in the world. British
Petroleum is headquartered in London, and is also one of the largest oil producers in the world,
having a large presence in the United States ( Edwards ). All of these companies compete in the
exploration, production, and transportation of oil and its products around the world.
The main contributing factor determining how well ExxonMobil and its competitors perform is
the price of crude oil. The suspected slowdown in the Chinese economy was the demand side
reason for the decline in oil prices. China is one of the largest consumers of oil in the world, so any

Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies
Reading through the intrepid journeys of this novel, we come to learn about each of the four
Mirabal sisters, along with their attitude and actions towards their merciless leader. In Julia Alvarez
s In The Time of the Butterflies, readers are introduced to four sisters living under the dictatorship
of Rafael Trujillo, the head of the Dominican Republic. All sisters harbor an intense hatred for the
state, but among them, two sisters in particular bear stronger differences than the others
Minerva and Dede. Minerva is an adamant character whom delves deeper into the secrets of
Trujillo and the coming revolution, whereas Dede s character shies away and lingers in the
back. While Minerva and Dede both long to see the corrupt regime overthrown, it is only
Minerva who jumps into action to oppose the state. Minerva, the most resilient sister, uses her
audacity, combined with a desire for equality, to express her opinions and challenge the state,
while Dede s reserved and wary self leads her to remain hesitant in public. When time comes for
Minerva to attend one of the many grand parties of Trujillo, the lustful leader decides that she
must belong to him, and makes an effort to entice her through conversations of keeping her
beloved university open. Expectedly, Minerva is not in the least swayed by Trujillo s persuasion,
and when he physically forces himself on her in pursuit of her consent to stay, she raises her hand
in defense, and as if it had a mind on its own [came] down

Establishing a respectful, professional relationship with children and young people
In order to develop a positive relationship with children and young people the Teaching Assistant
needs to show they are friendly, approachable and have an interest in talking to the children they are
working with. This involves showing good body language, smiling, maintaining eye contact and
displaying active listening, such as responding appropriately, asking additional relevant questions
and showing empathy. Also children need time to speak without the adult been distracted.
When speaking to children and young people the language and tone used needs to be age
appropriate, and be clear and concise. The Teaching Assistant also needs to show politeness and...

If you show you are interested in what they are saying it builds their confidence and makes them
feel like they are important and shows them they are making a valued contribution. If what you re
told relates to a forthcoming event, such as a birthday or holiday, remembering this for the next
time you see them also reinforces the fact that you were interested and were listening to what they
had to say.
By being approachable and a good listener it gives the child confidence to speak to the individual
should there be anything wrong where they need to confide in someone.
Conversely, if the Teaching Assistant is in a bad mood, possibly conveyed by poor body
language, or if they are distracted when a child is talking, thereby giving mixed messages, it can
have a negative impact on the child. If a child is talking and the Teaching Assistants body language
shows they are not fully listening, such as if they are looking away or talking over them, this passes
on the message that they are not interested in what the child has to say and the child may not bother
taking the time to speak to the Teaching Assistant again in the future.
If the Teaching Assistants negative behaviour manifests itself as shouting and taking out their
temper and frustration on the children, the children

Traditional Families Vs Single Parent Families
Traditional families versus single parent families. A traditional family household is a household
with two parents, mother and father. A single parent family household is a one parent household a
mother, or father. This household is usually occurs when a parent dies, parents divorce, or the
parents was never married and separated after having a child together. The question at hand is
would a child be more successful and mentally stable in life growing up in a traditional family
household, or single parenting household? This has been an intriguing argument for many years. I
strongly believe a child in a single parent home could grow up to be just as emotionally stable and
also be just as successful as a child who grows up with both parents.
Many children in today s society have grown to become successful and mentally stable whether
they had two parents, or one parent raise them. With everything in life it is never about quantity,
but quality. This could apply to single parenting as well. As long as a parent create a stable and
nurturing home their child will grow up to be a mature, hard working, independent, and loving
adult. Family structure should not be the main focus when it comes to raising children, the focus
should be on the values and life lessons that are taught to the child as they mature in life. Family
structure in the last decade have change drastically. Children are being raised by same sex parents,
grandparents, extended family, a single father, or a single

Classic Colonialism In Africa
1.)Classic colonialism in Africa developed a rule of the economic agenda to its citizens
livelihoods and health. Colonialism provided a small amount of modern health care, and many of
the policies of classic colonialism worsened the state of public health. As a result, this destabilized
the average African household, and gave an easy rise to larger cities, causing a new level of racism
in Africa. After World War two, Africans would turn to Islam or Christianity; and many (especially
those who participated in WW2) demanded independence. There were several forces that rose to
the importance of the independence movement. For example, the teachings from Western Muslim
or Christian schools led to an exposure of the political ideology that emphasized natural rights
influenced the African elite to push the need for independence. Another example includes the
African National Congress, which while not terribly effective, defended the interests of Africans.
2.)At the turn of the century, many of Indians accepted their life under British rule. However, the
racism and discrimination lead by the Europeans inspired Hindus to create a political... Show more

Mystery Powder Experiment
Starting our hypothesis was that it was cornstarch, according to all of the data we collected in
table 2(example at bottom of page). When we just looked at the substance it had a powder like
appearance with no real specific way of being arranged. Then we started with each test of the
powder first the simple close up look test using the microscope this showed us basically what we
had seen with our eyes in a little more detail from this we found that it was what we had seen a
powder like substance with no real arrangement but the only difference was two crystals within the
powder. Next we moved on to the more complex test like the vinegar test in this test when the
vinegar was mixed with the substance it did not really mix at all the vinegar... Show more content

Immediately we count off baking soda, salt, and sugar because in the first test with the
microscope, they show all crystal arrangements unlike the powder in our mystery. Then we go
on to count off the plaster of Paris because in the vinegar test, it does the opposite of our mystery
powder, it mixed with the vinegar while our powder sat on top and started to harden. At this
point we are down to flour and corn starch these two show the same results in the iodine test the
both turn into a thick black gel. Continuing on to the heat test they show generally the same, but
the flour starts to smoke unlike the corn starch just turning brown after a while, but this is still a
pretty close difference between the two so then we go back to the vinegar test where the corn
starch sat on top and hardened the flour just sat on top of the vinegar so now this is two
differences we have found comparing the flour to our mystery powder. In the end the one that had
all the same results as the mystery powder was the corn starch this proves our hypothesis to be
correct but there should be more to our hypothesis because the crystals found in the substance
therefore it must have one of the crystal substances in it also such as baking soda, salt, sugar or

Gun Control Argumentative Analysis
The right to bear arms, the Second Amendment, allowing citizens of the United States to own
operate firearms. However, when this was written, most would agree that gun control was not as
important as it is in today s world. Gun control in the United States needs to be more heavily
restricted, access to weapons is a factor in many things, from crime, to mass shootings. If there is a
problem, there must be a solution to solve that problem; so if guns are a factor in so many
problems, then why would the United Statesgovernment eradicate them? Gun control is a logical
concept to implement into a society where citizens are allowed to own, carry, and operate their own
firearms.

act, but they will not stop as long as people have access to assault weapons, or any weapons for

but it is not only assault weapons that are used for mass shootings, the list of firearms that have

Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men
Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece
today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well.
It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are
just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the
topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different
prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words.
It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about
the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect
attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a
social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old
boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have
different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the
relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more
than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until
later when he starts speaking.
The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their
prejudices. Juror ten

Non Proliferation Treaty And The Universal Declaration Of...
The functioning of an international order refers to the rules of the game that delineate how states
act toward each other. These rules or governing arrangements are intentionally constructed by states
to promote their goals and interests (Bull 1977: 8) These rules may be formal, operating through
mechanisms like international law, international treaties and alliances, and international
organizations, or they may be informal, based on more nebulous concepts like norms, principles,
and values regarding acceptable or legitimate behavior. These rules of the game identify the rights
and obligations of states, and they provide mechanisms for regulating conflict among states. The

Thus, there is no central political authority that can establish rules, force states to obey them, punish
states that break the rules, or otherwise arbitrate among states (Jervis 1985). However, the major
theoretical paradigms draw different implications from anarchy.
Realism is a dominant theory of international relations focuses on state s security and power
primarily. Besides, states are considered the only unitary rational actors where its survival and
interests is the cornerstone of interstates relation highly based on might rather than on right. Hence,
realists believe that people are by nature sinful and instinctively seeking power to dominant others.
Power will be everlasting in the human s nature and the possibility to be eradicated is a utopian
aspiration (Kegley, 1993). On the other hand, Liberalism as a dominant theory of international
relations emphasizes peaceful interstates relations where the preference of states goes beyond
politics to economic and social interaction to achieve a harmonious environment and reducing war
conflicts. Basically, the liberals underline that states are not unitary actors and non states actors are
significant to take a part in the realm since states are not rational and all actors will function better
together. Additionally, power and security dilemma is a secondary objective.
For realists, power and the distribution of power are the only important factors in IR. It is

Indigenous Feminism Summary
In chapter five of her book, Anderson starts it by stating that I m not a feminist . She shares her
experience that this is the remark she very often hears from Indigenous women. She further narrates
that when she shared the idea of writing an essay on Indigenous feminism with friends and
colleagues, many of them were skeptical: some seemed bored; others considered it a waste of time;
remaining labeled it a negative activity. Interestingly, one of the author s friends remarked that
feminists are always arguing against something . These sentiments are main reasons of
discouragement among Indigenous women to be identified as feminist. In my opinion, this issue is

She also talks about the Native feminist ethics, which brings understanding of the cultural
perspectives of leadership under the spotlight. In this respect, I think understanding of Native
women s traditional gender functions, roles and responsibilities is crucial in perceiving Indigenous
feminism. This is because I think in many tribal societies such as the Pashtun tribal societies in the
northwestern FATA (Federally Administered Tribal Areas) perceive gender roles and
responsibilities as complementary. The FATA areas and the colonial government system were
creation of the British colonizers. This example is very much relevant to the case of Native
societies that were/are colonized in North America because the British colonial rulers applied the
similar methods to control and regulate Pashtun tribes in the FATA areas. In comparison to the CFR
Courts to implement the Code of Indian Offences in Canada, the colonizers introduced and
enforced the FCR (Frontier Crimes Regulations) in the FATA areas on the Pakistani side of the
border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. In this colonial structure, the Political Agent system
implemented the FCR in which, for example, because of one tribal individual the entire tribe was
punished. Unfortunately, the FCR is still very much alive and is being used the way many colonial
laws are currently implemented in Canada and

Obstacles
The benefits and lucrative potential of Virtual Project Managementare many, but like all good
things, come at a price in the form of new management complications. Fostering open and
meaningful communication, gaining the trust and respect of remote members, and building trust
between members is the greatest challenge to the virtual PM. It is difficult for virtual team
members to get to know each other well; consequently, they tend to communicate poorly because
they often are less than comfortable with each other. [1] Communication is paramount in any
project. Dennis S. and Michelle L. Reina define three types of communication that project managers
must address for virtual work to be possible: contractual, communication, and competence trust. [4]
Contractual trust this is essentially doing what you say you will do. The virtual PM needs to
manage expectations, establish clear boundaries, delegate appropriately, honor agreements, and,
above all, be consistent in their words and actions. This kind of trust is especially frail in today s
workplaces because of the legacy of layoffs, downsizing, and reorganization that reengineering and

The Quiet American Compare And Contrast
When individuals are faced to have to morally attempt to solve their differences, they have to
make a choice to respond negatively or positively, because that is the only way to grow as a
human being. Graham Greene, who writes The Quiet American, uses two characters Thomas
Fowler and Alden Pyle to show how when given a situation, they will each respond differently
because they are completely the opposite of each other. It is even harder to do when it is about a
female that they both like. Pyle is an American compared to Folwer being a British man, which
means they will never see eye to eye. Thomas Fowler is a reporter from England. All he wants to

him from trying and he kept trying until he got what he wanted, even though it took a long time.
The one advantage he had over Fowler is that Phuong s sister preferred Pyle. The way he goes

go over very well, for the reason Fowler doesn t want anyone else to have her. Pyle gets her and
is going to marry her, but before he can he is murdered, which eventually lets Fowler get Phuong
back. Pyle took this positively and was never down about Phuong and that is why he worked so

Owl Pellet Lab Report
Lab Report: Owl Pellet
Kirsten de Jong
September 19, 2015
1.An owl pellet is made up of portions of things which an owl can t digest. The pellet can contain
things like feathers, bones, fur, and teeth, these things have very little nutritional value to the owl.
These things are tightly formed together in the owl s stomach, which is then spit out by the owl
every 12 hours producing two every day.
2.Owl pellets are home and food for many different fungi and insects. Fumigation is the removal
of any small insects, germs, or other pests from a room or other area, with the use of gases or
smoke. It is necessary for the pellet to be fumigated so there is nothing growing inside of the pellet
that wasn t there when the owl had spit it out. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There would be major changes if the barn owl wasn t part of the food web. There would be many
more rodents and other pests in agricultural and forestry land, which would eventually become
overpopulated. God created a perfect world and if there was even one animal that wasn t part of an
ecosystem, there would be many species with overpopulation issues.
8.Bioconcentration is when tiny creatures capture chemicals from debris, which is a large source
of diseases, and water which are then devoured by large populations of zooplankton. Larger
organisms like my sides then eat the zooplankton, fish feed on the mysids, this continues until the
herring which is at the top of this food web. This can causes many diseases to spread over a period

Rhetorical Devices In Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address
A war in which bloodshed took place between brothers, friends, and neighbors had luckily come
to an end in 1865. Abraham Lincoln s Second Inaugural Address occurred on May 4, 1865. In his
speech, he talks about how the effects of the war will eventually fade away along with the issue
of slavery. Lincoln s speech uses rhetorical devices such as tone, diction, and imagery to create
and emphasize his purpose to unite the divided country. The use of these rhetorical devices allows
Lincoln to achieve the purpose of his speech, which is to reunite the nation one nation under God.
To being with, one effective rhetorical device that Lincoln uses in his speech is tone. In his Second
Inaugural Address, Lincoln s is very optimistic about the future as he describes his aspiration for
the country s reconciliation in a deep and sincere manner. During his speech, Lincoln mentions, ...

God six times in his speech, Lincoln gives his audience a sense of faith and hope that the hard
times will soon come to an end, that the North and the South will soon reunite, and that they will
create lasting peace. On the other hand, words describing war and war itself provides a more
negative connotation that leads his audience to believe that nothing good comes out of war. For

Life With A Stranger Vs. Living With A Stranger
Life with a stranger can be hard, but don t give up hope too fast Taking on college classes will be
difficult, but there is one other challenge people tend to forget about. That challenge is moving
in and living with a complete stranger. Some people will have a great time getting to know a
new person, but some will hate it. With my help, you will survive life with a roommate. Talk with
them beforehand. If it is possible to reach them on social media of any sorts try and talk to them.
Maybe they went to your school, but you never really talked to each other. This can help in a lot of
ways. Planning out room arrangements ahead of timecan help a lot. Knowing who is going to bring
a certain thing and who is going to bring another. We went to high school together, said Xavier
Thomas. Get to know them. Talk with them and get to know them better. Ask them about their
hometown and how it was. Find out his or her favorite activities. Learn from them and have
friendly conversations. Figure out what they like and don t like. Find out their top foods, vacation
spots, movies, colors, music and other things about them. Hanging out with your roommate can be
a very effective way of building a good bond. Try going out to eat or watch a movie. Maddie

Examples Of Gamesmanship In Sports
ETHICS OF SPORTS
To understand the role ethics plays in sport competition. It is important to make distinction between
gamesmanship sportsmanship.
Gamesmanship is built on the principle that winning is everything. Athletes coaches are encouraged
to bend the rules wherever possible in order to gain a competitive advantage over an opponent to
pay less attention to the safety welfare of the competition. Some of the key tenants of
gamesmanship are:
1.WINNING IS EVERYTHING.
2.It s only cheating if you get caught.
3.It is the referee s job to catch wrongdoing the athletes coaches have no inherent responsibility to
follow the rules.
4.The ends always justify the means. Some examples of gamesmanship are :
1.Faking a foul or injury. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Covert personal fouls, such as grabbing a player underwater during a water polo match.
5.Inflicting pain on an opponent with the intention of knocking him or her out of the game.
6.Like that saint s bounty scandal.
7.The use of performance, enhancing drugs.
8.Taunting or intimidating an opponent.
9.A coach lying about an athlete s grades in order to keep him or her eligible to play.
A more ethical approach to athletics is sportsmanship. Under a sportsmanship model, healthy
competition is seen as a means of cultivating personal honour, virtue character. It contributes to a
community of respect trust between competitors in society. The goal in sportsmanship is not
simply to win, but to pursue victory with honour by giving one s best effort.
Ethics in sport requires 4 key virtues:
Fairness , Integrity , Responsibility Respect.
1.Fairness:
1.All athletes coaches must follow established rules guidelines of their respective sport.
2.Teams that seek an unfair competitive advantage over their opponent create an uneven playing
field which violates the integrity of the sport.
3.Athletes coaches are not discriminated against or excluded from participating in a sport based on
their race, gender, or sexual

Order and Chaos are Natural Events in Eamon Grennan’s...
Order and chaos are two events that inhabit the world that surrounds us. Natural events, such as
gravity, create order where our world has laws and principles. One the other hand, war, fighting,
and disasters make up the chaotic aspect of our world. How both are found in this world we live
in, the same two ideas of order and chaos, are found in Eamon Grennan s One Morning.
In this poem, the speaker is talks about his experiences in one significant morning. The poem
introduces a beach environment where the speaker talks about collecting rocks, while seeing a
dead otter, an oyster fisher, and a bird trying to find its prey. He recalls that this morning is the
morning after contemplating of dying, but in the second stanza he has a change ... Show more

Birds finding food to eat is definitely natural; what is chaotic is the how a bird is portrayed in the
first stanza. A cormorant is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as a large and voracious sea
bird. That is image in our heads in already chaotic in nature; it add insult to injury, the bird is eating
and patrolling the bay, assumedly for another animal to devour a fish. Also another bird enters the
picture. Although much less extreme, the heron found in line 6 makes an appearance. How this
inspires chaos is evident rose off a boulder where he d been invisible,/ drifted a little, stood again.
The heron from the background makes himself known, disquieting our original ideal of a peaceful
stroll.
The most chaotic element of the poem not actually found in the quite disordered first stanza, but
right at the beginning of the second stanza lies the revelation of the reason for the overwhelming
chaos. The speaker had a dream, a desire, to leave this chaotic world. The speaker experiences
being told that it didn t matter. The speaker must have perceived all the past images to be chaotic
because of his depressing experience. However, even if this is the climax of chaos, it is in a way a
turning point toward are more ordered and peaceful world.
The second stanza of Eamon Grennan s One Morning focuses on the more pleasant images, as it
can be argued to portray a more ordered world, in comparison to the latter chaotic world. Seemingly,
although the mood has

  • 2. Modernism vs Neo-Traditionalism Essay Modernism vs Neo Traditionalism: A debate on the merits and failures of two major competing paradigms in architecture and urban planning. Beyond the term modernism underlies one of the greatest ideas in architectural development. Modernism was meant to provide more green areas, cheaper housing and more efficient use of space. This was to be accomplished by creating vertically dense spaces with the use of the new inventions of the nineteenth century, such as steel, glass, electricity and elevators. By decreasing costs of building, modernists hoped to provide cheaper housing, affordable to almost anybody. The modernist movement was also promising to meet the growing demand for office spaces, hence the motto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Form follows function , said Sullivan, one of the founding fathers of modernism. As a response to mechanization and industrialization, modernism was extremely beneficial to companies that needed office space. To have a skyscraper built was a great investment on the company s side, not only did it provide the necessary office space, it also allowed to lease the remaining offices to other companies, thus making a profit. Modernism also appealed to the general population since the rise in birth rates provided a greater demand for housing. Many argued that same modular spaces would promote equality among its inhabitants. Modernism also promised to create more public spaces with green areas and waterworks by the virtue of vertical density. Supposedly, there would be more space. Not to forget, the building and maintenance costs of a modernist building were significantly less than that of a traditional one. However, nor Federal Plaza, a textbook modernist landscape, nor housing projects seem to have public spaces around them. Modernism was applied selectively, leaving out perhaps one of its most important functions. And although Mies van der Rohe did say the less is more in terms of ornamentation, there do not seem to be any sources that argue that modernist buildings have to be so redundant. There s no reason that modernist architecture and can not have some ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Synthesis Of Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report The objective surrounding the experiment outlined by this report is to perform an SN1 reaction to synthesize tert butyl chloride while recording the reactivity of the compound with sodium iodide and silver nitrate reagents. Nucleophilic substitution reactions, denoted SN1 or SN2, are characterized by a nucleophile(electron pair donor) reacting with an electrophile (electron pair acceptor) to break a bond at a carbon to form a new bond with that carbon.1 In order for the reaction to take place, a compound or element must break away from the electrophile, so it may accept electrons from the nucleophile.2 The octet rule must not be disobeyed and thus, the leaving group allows space for other electrons to attach. Additionally, the electronegativity of the chloride ion is a showing of how willing the ion is to donate elctrons, or rather how tightly the chloride ion holds those electrons to the nucleus. Elected on December 5th 1972 his government brought upon a vast range of reforms in the 1071 days it held office (Thompson, 2014). The prosperous business and professional families could live there. Richard Foss and Edward Starkie were two minority shareholders, and claimed that the property of the company had been misapplied and various mortgages were given improperly over the company s property. During the general meeting, they said that no action should be taken against them. At last, the Court dismissed and rejected the two shareholders claim, and held that a breach of duty by the directors of the company was a wrong done to the company for which it alone could sue. The first reason is because of the proper plaintiff rule is that a wrong done to the company may be vindicated by the company alone where the corporation has separate legal entity. The industry was booming in the United States because of the revolutionary invention of Henry Ford s Model T and the creation of the flow production, but the lack of variety created demand and Toyota answered that demand (Lean). Cooling may be achieved through either introduction of cooled, isotonic, non glucose containing fluid, or surface cooling interventions like ice packs or cold packs. The AHA states, however, that patient core temperaturemust be monitored by an esophageal thermometer, a pulmonary artery catheter, or a bladder catheter and that peripheral temperature measurements via axillary, aural, or oral thermometers are inadequate for measuring core temperatures in targeted temperature management. Therefore, while the AHA does recommend initiation of therapeutic hypothermia by EMS personnel in certain situations, agencies must carry and be trained in the use of equipment to adequately measure the patient s core temperature. • 18. Rotational Equilibrium Lab Report An object that has rotational equilibrium, or is balances, has a net torque of 0. The torque of an object is directly proportional to the distance from the applied force to the pivot point, the applied force and its angle; and the formula is T=F*d*sinОё. In this laboratory, we unbalanced and balanced a meter stick by hanging different masses from different distance of the pivot point. In addition, the massof the meter stick was found using the torque formula. The First step was to find where the meter had rotational equilibrium, and that it is the same point where the forceof gravity acts. In our meter stick was where it marks 0.497m. Once we had the meter stick balanced, a mass of 0.268kg (m1) with the help of a clip was hanged from a distance of 0.463m (d1) from the pivot point. Creating a torque of 1.216Nm (using counter clockwise as positive direction), we had to balance the meter using a mass of 0.518kg (m2). Since the force applied was the weight of the masses, and both torque must be equal to balance the meter stick. We came up with the equation: (m2) (g) (d2) = (m1) (g) (d1), consequently,d2=(m1)(g)(d1)/(m2)(g) , and it was equal to 0.23m. • 22. Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies Reading through the intrepid journeys of this novel, we come to learn about each of the four Mirabal sisters, along with their attitude and actions towards their merciless leader. In Julia Alvarez s In The Time of the Butterflies, readers are introduced to four sisters living under the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo, the head of the Dominican Republic. All sisters harbor an intense hatred for the state, but among them, two sisters in particular bear stronger differences than the others Minerva and Dede. Minerva is an adamant character whom delves deeper into the secrets of Trujillo and the coming revolution, whereas Dede s character shies away and lingers in the back. While Minerva and Dede both long to see the corrupt regime overthrown, it is only Minerva who jumps into action to oppose the state. Minerva, the most resilient sister, uses her audacity, combined with a desire for equality, to express her opinions and challenge the state, while Dede s reserved and wary self leads her to remain hesitant in public. When time comes for Minerva to attend one of the many grand parties of Trujillo, the lustful leader decides that she must belong to him, and makes an effort to entice her through conversations of keeping her beloved university open. Expectedly, Minerva is not in the least swayed by Trujillo s persuasion, and when he physically forces himself on her in pursuit of her consent to stay, she raises her hand in defense, and as if it had a mind on its own [came] down ... By being approachable and a good listener it gives the child confidence to speak to the individual should there be anything wrong where they need to confide in someone. Conversely, if the Teaching Assistant is in a bad mood, possibly conveyed by poor body language, or if they are distracted when a child is talking, thereby giving mixed messages, it can have a negative impact on the child. If a child is talking and the Teaching Assistants body language shows they are not fully listening, such as if they are looking away or talking over them, this passes on the message that they are not interested in what the child has to say and the child may not bother taking the time to speak to the Teaching Assistant again in the future. • 24. Traditional Families Vs Single Parent Families Traditional families versus single parent families. A traditional family household is a household with two parents, mother and father. A single parent family household is a one parent household a mother, or father. This household is usually occurs when a parent dies, parents divorce, or the parents was never married and separated after having a child together. The question at hand is would a child be more successful and mentally stable in life growing up in a traditional family household, or single parenting household? This has been an intriguing argument for many years. I strongly believe a child in a single parent home could grow up to be just as emotionally stable and also be just as successful as a child who grows up with both parents. Many children in today s society have grown to become successful and mentally stable whether they had two parents, or one parent raise them. With everything in life it is never about quantity, but quality. This could apply to single parenting as well. As long as a parent create a stable and nurturing home their child will grow up to be a mature, hard working, independent, and loving adult. Family structure should not be the main focus when it comes to raising children, the focus should be on the values and life lessons that are taught to the child as they mature in life. Family structure in the last decade have change drastically. Children are being raised by same sex parents, grandparents, extended family, a single father, or a single ... Colonialism provided a small amount of modern health care, and many of the policies of classic colonialism worsened the state of public health. As a result, this destabilized the average African household, and gave an easy rise to larger cities, causing a new level of racism in Africa. After World War two, Africans would turn to Islam or Christianity; and many (especially those who participated in WW2) demanded independence. There were several forces that rose to the importance of the independence movement. For example, the teachings from Western Muslim or Christian schools led to an exposure of the political ideology that emphasized natural rights influenced the African elite to push the need for independence. At this point we are down to flour and corn starch these two show the same results in the iodine test the both turn into a thick black gel. Continuing on to the heat test they show generally the same, but the flour starts to smoke unlike the corn starch just turning brown after a while, but this is still a pretty close difference between the two so then we go back to the vinegar test where the corn starch sat on top and hardened the flour just sat on top of the vinegar so now this is two differences we have found comparing the flour to our mystery powder. • 30. Theme Of Prejudice In 12 Angry Men Back in 1957 MGM released a film directed by Sidney Lumet that is considered a masterpiece today same as it was back then. There is a very good reason for that, this film has aged very well. It deals with the same topics we have to deal with in today s society. Today it seems people are just as divided as they were in the 50 s. That is what 12 Angry Men does so well, it handles the topic of prejudice. How does it show this? 12 Angry Men shows us different jurors with different prejudices that are revealed through their attitudes, beliefs, and words. It is easy to spot prejudice through attitude because of the way they act around or talking about the person or a community they have a prejudice about. Prejudice is an unjustified or incorrect attitude (usually negative) towards an individual based solely on the individual s membership of a social group (McLeod 1). In the film almost, everyone is ready to sentence an eighteen year old boy to death for murder. Most do this just because of the evidence, but jurors three and ten have different attitudes about the situation. Juror three has a different attitude because of his son and the relationship he created there. He abused his son and now he has left him, the guilt he has is more than apparent through his anger. Juror ten also shows anger and it is not apparent as to why until later when he starts speaking. The beliefs of the individual characters can say a lot about them because it reinforces their prejudices. Juror ten ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These rules or governing arrangements are intentionally constructed by states to promote their goals and interests (Bull 1977: 8) These rules may be formal, operating through mechanisms like international law, international treaties and alliances, and international organizations, or they may be informal, based on more nebulous concepts like norms, principles, and values regarding acceptable or legitimate behavior. Thus, there is no central political authority that can establish rules, force states to obey them, punish states that break the rules, or otherwise arbitrate among states (Jervis 1985). However, the major theoretical paradigms draw different implications from anarchy. Realism is a dominant theory of international relations focuses on state s security and power primarily. Besides, states are considered the only unitary rational actors where its survival and interests is the cornerstone of interstates relation highly based on might rather than on right. Hence, realists believe that people are by nature sinful and instinctively seeking power to dominant others. Power will be everlasting in the human s nature and the possibility to be eradicated is a utopian aspiration (Kegley, 1993). On the other hand, Liberalism as a dominant theory of international relations emphasizes peaceful interstates relations where the preference of states goes beyond politics to economic and social interaction to achieve a harmonious environment and reducing war conflicts. Basically, the liberals underline that states are not unitary actors and non states actors are significant to take a part in the realm since states are not rational and all actors will function better together. The FATA areas and the colonial government system were creation of the British colonizers. This example is very much relevant to the case of Native societies that were/are colonized in North America because the British colonial rulers applied the similar methods to control and regulate Pashtun tribes in the FATA areas. In comparison to the CFR Courts to implement the Code of Indian Offences in Canada, the colonizers introduced and enforced the FCR (Frontier Crimes Regulations) in the FATA areas on the Pakistani side of the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
