Dungeon Crawler Research Paper
The Silent Generation have a much higher chance of preferring a Strong, Silent type character. A
Procedurally Generated Dungeon Crawler game would best suit this generation. Most of these types of
games don t really require a heavily voiced Protagonist, due to the fact that more often than not your
Player Character is completely isolated. Procedural Generation would add plenty of replay value to the
game, as the randomly generated dungeons would never repeat (or would at least have very low odds
of repeating).
For the Boom Generation, a Japanese Roleplaying Game format would be the best type of game for
them. Almost 100% of the time, these types of games have an overwhelmingly large spiritual theme
around them. From the main character channeling their personal strengths to fight off their literal inner
demons within them in an attempt to reach enlightenment, to player characters dueling fates with
deities, these seem like the best option for such a spirited generation.
Generation X is a defiant, one against all generation. A well made, non twitch styled First Person
Shooter would best suit this generation. A Great example of this type of game ... Show more content

more to these Millennials, due to the highly compressed Skill Gap, over gratification of ultimately
mundane tasks, and satisfying progression system. However, as Infinite Warfare has shown, this

Natural Law And Legal Positivism
The contrast between Natural Law and Legal Positivism is a necessary starting point for those who
wish to understand the relationship between law and morality, and the most varied manners in which it
influences society to this day. When it comes to analyzing which theory offers the most well rounded
idea of law, one can argue that Legal Positivism provides the best definition of what law is at its
essence. However, because Legal Positivism came to exist as a critique to what was proposed by
Natural Law theorists, it is significant that both are explored in depth as means to support such
argument.
Natural law theory is based on human nature and its predisposition to do good. The determination of
what s good and evil, however, is often drawn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, it argues that at times, it is possible that for the law to be immoral.
The biggest difference between the writings of Austin and Hart might be that the former while setting
the framework for a plausible theory, fails to elaborate on its most basic premises. Hart expanded on
legal positivism by enhancing the theory suggested by Austin and making it more credible, all while
debunking natural law theory. One example is the manner in which Austin argues that the concept of
law is subject to the command of a higher authority backed by threats. Although this is a way in which
law can be presented, it is also a simplistic definition. Hart argues that although Austin s definition of
the law might be applicable to criminal law, it fails to justify other variants of legal process such as
contracts or marriage licenses. He argues that Such laws do not impose duties or obli
gations. Instead,
they provide individuals with facilities for realizing their wishes, by conferring legal powers upon
them to create, by certain specified procedures and subject to certain (p. 27) It is difficult to associate
laws such as the ones concerning marriage to the idea of a command backed by threat. The
differentiation between laws that grant liberties when compared to those that might take them away is
something that is not taken into account by Austin or explored in depth by natural law theorists such
as Aquinas.

Ebony Argumentative Essay
Per Reporter: Ebony has a drug problem, but is in denial about it. Ebony uses marijuana on a daily
basis around the children. Ebony may possibly use other drugs due to her weight loss. Ebony also uses
alcohol a lot around the children. The drugs are accessible to the children. The children have been in 4
5 different states this year. Ebony has been back and forth from Rodney s (victim s father) home to
other places. Ebony returned to Rodney s home a year ago from Vegas. Rodney witnessed Ebony
using drugs around the children, which has been reported to CPS previously, but did not get far. On

Disadvantages Of Scientific Management
Frederic Winslow Taylor (1865 1915) was an engineer and most importantly an innovator who affects
the way many organizations function even today. In his time he introduced the term of scientific
management which refers to a system where leaders are capable of managing and workers are able to
execute the tasks given by the managers in the most efficient and productive way in a mass production
environment with the basic element of job specialization (McKenna, 2012, p.7). According to Taylor,
scientific management should include the selection of the best qualified people to work in a company,
the incentives to work harder and as a result more efficient by awarding them with higher salaries as
well as the authority given to the managers to control ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One drawback is that distinction of planning and doing has a negative impact especially on companies
with numerous and specialized human resources. In this case, neither people have the ability to be
creative and constructive nor have the opportunity to take an initiative (Ghuman and Aswathappa,
2010, p.135). Another drawback is that Taylor system can be described as an environment in which
workforce is treated as a machine and not as individuals who can influence the production of the firm
(Dutt, 2008, p.21).Finally, scientific management was largely criticized by the workers themselves due
to the fact that the efficiency which has a central role in company s productivity lead to a decrease in
demand for employees and made them insecure because there was a strong possibility to lose their
jobs (Singla, 2009 2010,

Children s Skellig Sparknotes
Michael is the main protagonist of the children s novel, Skellig. Throughout the book he has shown
his true beliefs, personality and his changes through the story. This essay will be analyzing these
points in regards to the evidence provided in the book. Skellig is about a young boy named Michael
moving in to a new neighborhood and house in preparation for the new born baby s birth. The baby
was born immature and they were not prepared for the problems that the baby brought with it, as the
baby had problems with its chest and heart and the house still needed to be renovated. Michael is
quickly overwhelmed as he discovers an old man in the shed which turns out to be an angel and his
life drastically changes. This leads to an eventual change of Michael s personality and beliefs from a
selfish boy who resented his baby sister for taking all the attention, to a kind and caring young man
throughout the novel. The following will be discussed more thoroughly ... Show more content on

Vector Aeromotive Corporation Summary
Mayela Everts Accounting 6302 Vector Aeromotive Corporation Vector sold exotic sports cars and
was the only US based manufacturer. Their major competition, Ferrari and Lamborghini, took up 75%
of the market share. Gerry s idea was to make a car based off of aerospace technology. They created
the V8 twin turbo which was highly advanced and priced. After selling a total of 13 cars, 45 people
were employed. Vector built two other models to increase sell volume and decrease losses. Vector s
Board of Directors composed of 3 individuals, Berry with a background in real estate; John, a
financial consultant, and Vector s CFO; and Gerry, the president of Vector. Berry and John grew to

no longer invest in the company, but keep Dorpi on the board to protect his previous investments. In
1992 the company s taxes were not paid in time which caused some debate about disclosures in the 10

company expenses. They decided to call a meeting where Gerry was going to be formally asked to

arrived Gerry Wiegert locked himself inside Vector headquarters. The Board of Directors consisted
primarily of Gerry Wiegert, John Pope, and Barry Rosengrant. Gerry was the President, so it was
typical for him to be a part of the board. John Pope was a financial consultant; therefore, he was

2. The employee rights during the employee relationship 2.1. The importance of work life balance and
related legislation concerning holidays, rest periods, working hours and night working It is imperative
that the employee can balance his/her working life against his/her personal life. With sufficient time
off and rest periods, employees will feel looked after and be motivated to put in more effort. There
will be a reduction of mistakes because the employee has had adequate rest which results in a more
positive working environment. Employers who introduce such practices in the work place in order to
help employees achieve a better and satisfactory work/life balance can expect to see an increase in
motivation, enhanced performance/productivity and greater staff loyalty. By implementing a positive
work/life balance, companies are successful, secure a good reputation and promote positive employee
relations. The Working Time Regulations 1998 stipulates that employers should provide employees
with the following basic rights: 28 days holiday (paid) for full time employees (part time employees
would receive this on a pro rata basis); a rest period of 20 minutes every 6 hours worked 11 hours rest

Negative Effects Of Sexism
Eradication of Sexism
Sexism is another social problem troubling human societies all over the world. Though the roots of
sexism are a lot less broad when compared to racism (when taking into account there are only two
flexible, recognizable human sexes), there is still a large amount of conflict surrounding the social
problems between men and women. If one might not know sexism (or gender discrimination) is
prejudice or discrimination based on a person s sex or gender. Sexism is something that can be
affected by anyone. It has been effective mostly in history as well as the present, which has
predominantly targeted many women and girls. As many people believed in Laurel Ulrich s quote
Well behaved women seldom make history meant women who behave themselves as women should,
rarely make history. This quote is accurate because each woman who made history had to portray
themselves in a terrible manner or behave badly at some point in time to get there point across or
make themselves significant . The eradication of sexism needs to be enforced because sexism creates
disadvantages towards women in the world, substantially in the workplace. Sexism allows the
development of negative emotions in young girls and women, and it impacts the self perception of
men. I would like to change the issue of sexism towards women in our society. This conflict troubles
societies around the country in several ways, and taking several forms. Sexism is a recurring problem
in our country that has

Bullying in the National Spotlight
As a young man growing up, I have had my share of hardships and difficulties with bullies and being
bullied. My personal experiences of bulling started early in middle school and continued throughout
junior high and high school. Given a small frame and statue, classmates would often create pranks

career. Names such as four eyes, studderbox, nerd, mute, Steve Urkel, were just some of the many
names I endured while in school. Entering high school as a freshmen was one of the most enjoyable

Jonathan Martin s frustration stemmed from one and half football seasons of bullying and taunting
from some of his teammates which had gone beyond the player hazing that sometimes occurs in NFL
locker rooms (2013). Rookie hazing is seen as a rite of passage in the National Football League teams.
Stuart (2013) argues that athletic hazing is about team self governance and is a potent tool to create a
team hierarchy through fear and intimidation. She also argues that athletic hazing is part of
maintaining masculinity and is perceived as a rite of passage to masculinity Looking at her analysis of
hazing as the physical and psychological abuse of younger team members are by those who are more
senior is humiliating but dangerous (Stuart 2013). Butryn (2003) prompted that intimidation, bullying,

The Golden Age Of Chinese Film Industry
During the 1930 s the Chinese Film Industry underwent several improvements in film techniques;
improvements in film quality and the advancements in sound quality, which led to this period being
called the Golden Age of Chinese film. Some very important directors of the time were Sun Yu,
Yonggang Wu and Muzhi Yuan saw the potential to educate the masses through the film Industry. This
was done by highlighting the problems in society; such as inequality between the genders. This was
done by showcasing the plight and struggles of the lower classes who struggled against society s
Confucian morality and values. The main areas that these directors focus upon in their films were
social issues, class struggles and urbanisation which can be seen in their films, Daybreak (1933) a film
about a traditional rural couple moving to cosmopolitan Shanghai only to be corrupted by the city. The
Goddess (1935) follow the life of a mother forced into prostitution and her struggle to put her son
through education. She suffers abuse from a Boss but also experiencing the social abuse and stigma
attached to her work. Street Angel (1937) which follows a group of friends who help each other in
their dire, poor circumstances and stand up against the oppression of being exploited by society.
Through these three films, these famous leftist directors educate the nation on the issues of the time.
One of the primary issues these films look at are the social problems of the 1930 s; this can be seen in

Comparison Of Lysosomes And Vacuoles

After a long day of sleeping and play, you must eat. A great meal satisfies the body; to keep moving
each and every day, but how does it get receive the nutrients and power its needs? That is through its
digestive system, but more in particular, the cell organelles. Two of these organelles work hand in
hand to keep the body functioning. The two organelles are the lysosomes and vacuoles. The two

for the plant to larger portion of its family which is the Vacuole. It exports items outside of the cell to
keep damage to a all time low. On the contrary, lysosomes break down food and garbage inside the
body as well. Its like the stomach of the cell. It s found in all eukaryotic cells. Lysosomes are typically
recycled back into the cytoplasm of the cell after the enzymes attack and destroy the harmful
substances that it broke down and engulfed. Lysosomes are also like the builders of the cell, and

Peace Written by Aristophanes in 421 BCE
In Aristophanes Peace written in 421 BCE, the automatist utopian trope of food is used to satirize 5th
century Athens, particularly the aristocracy. In the opening scene of the play, two Athenian slaves are
kneading cakes made of dung for the pet dung beetle of their master Trygaeus (Peace 1 2). Cakes are
generally viewed as a decadent treats. However, theses cakes are not made out of appetizing
ingredients but dung. These dung cakes are meant to parody Athenian obsession with food. After all,
scholars agree that Aristophanes lived in a food obsessed comic world (Compton Engle 326). The
dung beetle also appears to serve a role in satirizing the aristocracy, this beast...no food is good
enough unless I first waste a whole day handling it...Go on, eat the lot, you big shit beast... the
gluttonous beast! Look at him (Peace 35 38). In this instance, the beetle will only eat the dung after it
has been kneaded into a cake for one day. It is possible that the dung beetle represents members of the
Athenian aristocracy, of which would be most selective with the preparation of their food. In Peace,
the automatist utopian trope of food is used to satirize war. In an early scene, the comic hero, Trygaeus
is overlooking the god, War, tossing different types of food into his mortar. In this passage, the food
that War tosses into his mortar are meant to be representative of different Greek city states, War:(Takes
a bunch of leeks and drops them into the mortar) In you go, Leek City,

Charles Lindbergh flew the first American Airlines flight on April 15, 1926 carrying U.S. mail from
St. Louis, Missouri to Chicago, Illinois (American Airlines). American Airlines flew United States
mail routes for about eight years until C.R. Smith and Donald Douglas created the DC 3 plane that
would change the airline industry. The DC 3 flew in service from New York to Chicago (American
Airlines). Over the years the company began to grow what it is today. American Airlines grew from
engineering the DC 3 to the DC 7 and eventually created new flight planes that would be able to take
passengers all over the United States and eventually overseas. American Airlines was the first airline
to create a specialized flight attendant training program (American Airlines). The airline knew the
importance of keeping its passengers comfortable during their flight. Finally, on October 16, 2015
U.S. Airways flew its last flight and on October 17, 2015 U.S. Airways and American Airlines began

Goliath Issues In Social Media
The American people are following the popular things on the social media and not truly knowing the
credentials of author of any articles. People can hide themselves through social media and write
anything that without backing it up. A wolf can use sheep s clothing in the social media so therefore
the American people must be aware of that. Politics for the common man and women is a lot of work
to stay informed and life is so full of uncreditable information. The American people sometimes see
the Goliath issues that threaten our nation, the constant fight of evil and the snarling realities of people
that are in opposition to a biblical worldview of current events. Wicked people sought to suppress and
control access to the truth of the Bible, which sounds familiar. Men and women were under vigorous
persecution for merely translating a written Bible. Their work hurt no one and yet, these Christians
were treated as criminals and persecuted even under the American government. The establishment
church can be a politician s greatest enemy, the very people that should have been in support.

figures people encounter in the past, present, and future. When the government is in conflict with the

Population Control Overpopulation is defined as the condition of having a population so dense as to

congested and cramped. The people will be uncomfortable and they won t be content with the current
situation. This would be an impaired quality of life. If this is related to the environmental term, then an

Babies born in 1900 did not live past the age of 50 compared to the current lifespan, 81 83 years. In
parts of East Asia, the average life expectancy was less than 45 years in 1950, while now it sits at
more than 74 years. The cause for this increase is the improvements in overall human health that is
rapidly spreading around the world, not only at different rates, but also in different directions. One
major cause for to enhance health is from decreasing occurrences in parasitic and chronic diseases.
There is also better living standards, more nutritious diets, and cleaner drinking water, which reduces
infections and prevents death in children by allowing them to survive their most vulnerable years.
Babies are still being born, but the people are growing older which decreases the mortality rate further
(U.S. Department of Health Human Services). In addition to a decreased mortality rate, there is an
increase in the birth rate due to the reduction in infant mortality from modern medicine. While this
doesn t make the chances zero, it does greatly improve the possibility of an infant surviving. One way

Summer Break In High School
Every May, schools across America exile their kids to the chaotic abyss known as summer. The
general public view summer as a time of relaxation, but an increasing number of kids are using this
time to commit crimes, get in trouble, and act disrespectfully. This may seem unacceptable, but the
worst consequence of summer is not what kids are doing; on the other hand, the worst consequence of
summer is what kids are not doing learning. In the 1700s, school systems in America incorporated
summer as a time for children to help their parents on the farm. Over time, as farming began to
dwindle, summer evolved as a break from learning; consequently, children began to remember less. To
accommodate for the summer learning loss epidemic and prevent children from indulging in
detrimental activities, schools must shorten summer break. Children causing trouble is a common
sight for most young parents; however, some children indulge in these acts a little too frequently. With
parents off at work and children home, children have more time to develop bad habits and commit ...

School corporations claim to use summer as a time to train, or retrain, teachers; however, teachers do
not always benefit from this extra teaching. It is important for teachers to be trained, but training
during the summer is not as effective as one might think. As students across America can attest, the
first few weeks of the school year are used as review for last year. Class time is wasted reviewing
material and teachers forget their training. According to CSBA, students retain 80 percent of the
information taught during the previous year; consequently, teachers spend the first few weeks review
the 20 percent of the information lost (Martineau). By the time last years information is retaught, it is
hard for teachers to utilize their training. In order for teacher training to be more effective, summer

Dramatic Irony In Shakespeare s King Richard III
An unfavourable representation of the king and his court In the beginning of Act 2 Scene1 of
Shakespeare s King Richard III, everyone is in a room in King Edward s palace. Edward sent a letter
to pardon Clarence but it got intercepted by Richard. Which is why, Clarence has just been executed
but no one knows about it. This is the first and only scene that Edward will appear in. He is sick and
expects to die so he is trying to make peace between Queen Elizabeth, her son Dorset, her brother
Rivers, and Hastings, and Buckingham. He needs to ensure that his kingdom does not fall apart after
he passes away and that the power still stays with his family. To achieve this, Edward gets three of the
Woodvilles, Rivers, Queen Elizabeth, and Dorset, to swear an oath with Hastings. This passage paints
a very unflattering picture of the king and his court: an egoistic king, and two faced nobles, through
religious language and dramatic irony. Edward starts off the scene by congratulating himself with
work that he has not yet done when he comments ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Edward s character increases the irony because he is so full of himself. This causes him to believe that
he actually reconciled all the quarrelling nobles and brought peace among them. At the same time, the
nobles actions and words are also very misleading compared to what they are actually thinking. Later
it is proven that Edward s reconciliation failed when the Woodville family didn t claim the throne, but
instead Richard did, bringing chaos and starting the War of Bosworth. Edward tries to portray himself
as a powerful and religious king but his big ego prevents him from seeing how deceitful his court is.
Overall, this passage expresses how the appearance of characters is not actually

The American Revolution
The American Revolution was one of the most important decisions in the United States History. It was
a political upheaval, which happened between 1765 and 1783. In this time, the rebel colonists, which
were in the Thirteen American Colonies, rejected the aristocracy and the British, Monarchy
overthrowing the Great Britain authority. They then founded the United States of America. The battles
of concord and Lexington signified the beginning of a war between the British and the colonists. The
reason of the American Revolution was the fact that the members belonging to the American colonial
society rejected the British Parliament authority intended to tax them. They resisted the British
attempts, which had now been renewed intended to collect duties on commodities such as molasses
and sugar that had gone for many years uncollected through widespread colonists smuggling.
There was an ideology behind the American Revolution. The ideological movement was identified as
the American Enlightenment. It was a critical precursor to the then American Revolution. The main
ideas that encompassed the American enlightenment included the concepts of liberalism, fear of
corruption and republicanism. The breakthrough of the movement came with the continued awareness
of the movements to the Americans. Due to this awareness, the growing number of American colonists
accepted the concepts. The acceptance hence began to foster a movement of intellectuals, which

The Most Important Character In La Boheme
The most important character in La Boheme is the writer Rodolfo who experiences passionate feelings
for his seamstress neighbor, Mimi. Rodolfo offers a garret apartment with three other men: Marcello,

of Boston artisans became a popular writer, world renowned scientist, successful publisher, civil

The War Soviet Expansion Of The United States
Introduction In 1976, with the election of Georgia governor and Washington outsider Jimmy Carter to
the Presidency, the American people could expect that a change was going to come and they were
right. After years of military action attempting to stop Cold War Soviet expansion, first in Vietnam
under Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, followed by the quick and possibly unnecessary
bombing of Cambodia by President Ford in response to seizure of the U.S. freighter Mayaguez
(History.com, 2016), Americans were war weary. Thus they welcomed the affable Southern peanut
farmer who promised a foreign policy based on high moral principles and regard for human rights.
Indeed, Carter set the tone with the following statement, during the first year of his (only) term: For
too many years, we ve been willing to adopt the flawed and erroneous principles and tactics of our
adversaries, sometimes abandoning our own values for theirs. We ve fought fire with fire, never
thinking that fire is sometimes best quenched with water. This approach failed, with Vietnam the best
example of its intellectual and moral poverty. But through failure we have now found our way back to
our own principles and values, and we have regained our lost confidence. (Department of State, 2016).
Thus Carter took office believing he had a mandate to conduct foreign policy according to doctrines of
supporting moral values and human rights in our relations with other countries, turning to the military

The Balance Of Payment ( Bop ) Essay
According to Federal Reserve Bank of New York, The Balance of Payment (BOP) is a statement used
by a country to summarize an economy s transactions with the rest of the world by both private and
public sectors for a specified time period, usually every quarter or year. It is known as Balance of
International Payment , it involves all transactions between a country s residents and its non residents
involving goods, services and income, financial claims on and liabilities to the rest of the word. If a
country has received money, this is known as a credit , and if a country has paid or given money, the
transaction is counted as a debit . Theoretically, the BOP should be zero, meaning that assets (credits)
and liabilities (debits) should balance; however, in the reality, this is rarely the case.
The BOP is divided into 3 main categories: the current account, the capital account, and the financial
account:
1. The Current Account
The current account refers to the export and import of goods and services into a country. Within the
current account are credits and debits on the trade of merchandise, including goods such as raw
materials and manufactured goods that are bought, sold or given away in the form of aid. Services
refer to receipts from tourism, transportation, engineering, business service fees such as lawyers or
management consulting, and royalties from patents and copyrights, and income generating assets such
as stocks. Last but not least, it includes the unilateral

Persuasive Essay On Pit Bulls
As people walk down the street they pass many different dogs, dogs of various breeds. People pass
these cute, loveable creatures walking with their owners and may even coo about them, or wish their
furry friend were with them. Suddenly, they see a vicious escape psycho killer mere feet away from
them. This killer is only a pit bull, but these people associate this breed with violence, danger, and
death. While only a few number of pit bulls are dangerous, an incredible amount of people believe that
this breed are the mass murderers of the dog realm. Pit bulls do not deserve the negative perceptions
they receive because, other dog breeds are more aggressive, their behaviors rely on their owners, and
the sensationalized media about the breed. A dog s temperament is the way the react in different
situations. A dog with a good temperament can react to various situations calmly and will not be
aggressive. The American Temperament Test Society holds an event a few times a year to collect data
about different breeds temperaments and how friendly these dogs are (ATTS). The test consists of
walking in an enclosed track where the dog will react to different strangers and noises. The percent of
pit bulls that passed the temperament test is 87.4 percent. This is a shockingly high percent
considering that many people think they are creatures from the devil. Pit bulls scored way higher than

Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl Essays
The concentration camps that were run by the Nazis during World War II can easily be labeled as one
of the most grotesque examples of cruelty in the entire world. The people that were sent to these
concentration camps were treated as less than human by the power hungry leaders of the camp. As we
have all learned in history classes throughout our lives, the conditions of these camps were blatantly
abhorrent, and it is a surprise that people made it out of these camps alive. In his book, Man s Search
for Meaning, Viktor E. Frankl uses his experiences in a concentration camp as an example to his
readers that life holds a potential meaning no matter what condition a person is in. In the two parts of
his book he analyzes his experiences and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The way Frankl described it made it seem as if it was one of those situations where a person responds
in a way that is not socially acceptable, but they cannot help it. In this case, the inmates found humor
in the sense that they were in disbelief that these things were happening to them and did not know how
to react. The other emotion that was immediately felt by the inmates entering the camp was curiosity
because they did not know whether they were going to live or die. Living in the camps for the first few
days filled the inmates with questions about whether or not they would survive and how they would
go about doing so. Also, almost every inmate justifiably entertained thoughts of suicide, but according
to Frankl there was little point in committing suicide, since, for the average inmate, life expectation,
[...] was very poor (18). Additionally, the first days and weeks in a concentration camp filled the
inmates with fear and disgust, since they were not accustomed to seeing humans being treated in such
disturbing manners. Frankl explains that all the campers slowly became acclimated to their situations
once they realized that a man can get used to anything, [without knowing] how (18). This observation
by Frankl is imperative to his own survival in the concentration camps, and it emphasizes that idea
that in order to survive the abhorrent conditions of the camp one must forget their former life and
realize that they needed to survive the present

The Death Of A Soul
A soul is something that is hard to describe and define as it is not a physical thing. When you think
above it is quite hard to be certain that human beings even have a soul because we cannot see it or
have hard evidence of it. Unlike the brain, which we cannot see our own but we know for certain
human beings do in fact have a brain due to the hard evidence such as brain scans and the fact that we
cannot do everyday tasks without it. However, saying that, it is quite common to think that we all have
a soul because if you can have a conscience, then we must have a soul. So how do we know if we
have a conscience? Well if you feel emotions such a sadness, happiness or even anger but also have a
moral sense such as knowing the difference between right and wrong then we can conclude that you
have a conscience. Even though the definition of soul is different to everyone, the Greek philosopher
Aristotle defines the soul as Form of the body in the De Anima. He believed that the soul is not
separate from the body but rather work as one. Whereas another Greek philosopher, Plato believed
according to the Republic, that the soul and the body are two different parts which is something that I
believe in. and
In the question Jana s soul is replaced with another soul, even though it will do the same work as the

MR and CT scanners both produce images of anatomical structure, but the images they generate look
quite different. The striking difference between the two is that, bone structure
(cortical) appears bright in CT, so is black in MR. MR images tend to have much higher contrast
between grey matters. There are many instances in which it would be desirable to integrate the
information obtained from two or more studies of the same patient. Application areas of multimodality
matching include radio therapy and nuclear medicine [2]. In radiation therapy planning, a CT scan is
needed fordose distribution calculations while the contours of the target lesion are often best outlined
on MRI [3,4]. In nuclear medicine, determination of the anatomical location of dysfunctional areas
and studies in functional structural relationships are facilitated by integration of functional and
morphological information, and anatomical information may be used to improve PET or SPECT
reconstructions. Since information gained from two images acquired in the clinical track of events is
usually of a complementary nature, proper integration of useful data obtained from the separate
images is often desired. The first step in the integration process is to bring the modalities involved into
spatial alignment, a procedure referred to as registration/matching as shown in Figure 1.
After registration, a fusion step is

Compare The Passionate Shepherd To His Love
Renaissance poet Marlowe, within The Passionate Shepherd to his Love, and the Restoration poet
Marvell, within To His Coy Mistress, present love as a necessity. Despite the differing contexts, with
their incompatible ethical and moral attitudes, they still concern themselves with the same
fundamental idea that men will assert their patriarchal dominance onto women in order to have sex.
By focussing on the tone of the two poems one can draw similarities within how the male imperative
and female reluctance mirrors the social context of time and religious morality. Marlowe evokes this
message through the utilisation of the hyperbolic use of the possessive pronoun my in accordance with

Civil Rights Movement During The Civil War
Civil Rights Movement With the winning of the Civil War still in the minds of many, conducting
interviews of previous slaves intrigued those wanting to know what it was like being a slave. With the
interview there is a look inside the life of, a woman still in her childhood, what her life was like, and
how she dealt with being a slave. The life of a slave was no easy feat, but with perseverance many
made it to the wars end, although life still has many hardships for the Freedman today. The interview
was given to Betty Powers by the New Deals Federal Writer s Project in 1936, quite a few years after
the slaves were freed. These interviews were given to give a look into the life of a slave, what they
went through, and the pains and turmoil that white people had caused. This interview just proved how
terrible and inhumane slavery was, and why it needed to be ended, although it caused the south to
completely change its ways in the Reconstruction Era. In the textbook there were views from both the
North and the South on slavery and its end. This article is on the view of the slaves and the North,
believing it was the right thing to end slavery, and that the color of your skin doesn t mean you aren t
human. On the South s view, they believed the opposite that African Americans were below the

Widget Self Assessment
I am very proud of my performance of my widget speech. I prepared by writing my speech in
advanced and practicing it for 20 minutes every night. The only thing I regret about the preparation of
this speech was waiting till the last minute to make the poster. But I thought the delivery went well. I
think the only thing that went badly wrong was me having a brain fart on the speech when I had had it
memorized for two days. I think it was the intimidation of peers that made me nervous. Overall, I
achieved my speech calmly and confidently. I scored myself a 6 in this category because I did not rush
the speech and I did not have a shaky speaking voice. I also scored myself a 6 for having no
distracting behaviors. My feet were glued to the ground and a did not play with ... Show more content

I am a quiet person when it comes to a group I am not used to talking in front of so I need to work on
voice projection. I am scoring myself a 6 in clear words and appropriate because I stated my speech
clearly and had no hesitations.
I definitely need to work on expressions. I scored myself 3 because I think a started the speech with a
smile and it slowly died and I looked like I was unhappy by the end. As for emotion I scored myself a
2 because I was very monotoned and I had no change in pitch.
I thought I did a good job with eye contact. I scanned the room trying to look all directions but I didn t
look into every single person s eye s so scored myself a 5 in this category. The eye contact I felt was
mostly consistent but I still think I looked down too much so I scored myself a 4.
I felt I did poorly in gestures. I give myself a 2 because I felt I had little to no gestures most of the
time my hands were on the podium. I thought my face expressions were minimal so I scored myself a
4. And I will also score myself a 4 in body language because I felt I had some but not nearly

The Public Company Accounting Oversight
The act is very comprehensive, however, some of its main points include (Ball, 2009): Creation of the
Public Company Accounting Oversight Board which regulates the public accounting/auditing industry
Requires CEO s and CFO s to certify the financial statements are free of material misstatements and
fairly represent the company s financial position Requires a strong and independent audit committee
which is to oversee the audit instead of management Places limitations on the provision non audit
services by a firm responsible for auditing the company in order to strengthen and enhance auditor
independence Requires management to assess, and attest to, the adequacy of the company s internal
controls Prior to Sarbanes Oxley and the creation of the PCAOB, the auditing industry regulated itself.
Between the years 2000 and 2001 Ernst and Young, Price Waterhouse Cooper, and Arthur Anderson
were involved in cases that proved the need for an oversight board (Coates, 2007). Ernst and Young
settled a shareholder lawsuit for $335 million; Price WaterHouse Cooper was found to have over
8,000 instances where their auditors held stock in the company they were auditing even though it was
a violation of SEC rules; and the SEC charged Arthur Anderson with fraud. It was once again vital that
public confidence in our financial system was restored, hence the passage of Sarbanes Oxley. Stronger
oversight of the auditing industry reassures the public the profession will be held to

An Analysis Of Ender s Things Fall Apart
Ender has been through a drastic amount, since he went to space. There are three things in particular
that have happened that made him change, grow or learn a lesson. The first being when Bonzo slapped
him in front of everyone, the second when Rat battled the Centipede army, last was the time Ender got
into a fight with 4 older boys. The first event happened when Bonzo slapped Ender for disobeying him
on page 95. Ender reacted by doing nothing. He did this because he knew Bonzo was wrong for doing
it and so did everyone else. This helped him grow because learned that he doesn t have to lash out
every time someone does something wrong. He also learned some other boys were on his side. Ender
could not help but take vengeful pleasure in

The Impact Of Communication On The Workplace Essay
2.0 Findings and discussion
2.1 Communication in the work place
In management, planning, leading, organising and having control over the organisation requires one to
have good communication skills in order to ensure that fellow colleagues and employees are able to
work efficiently and effectively (Robbins Coulter, 2016). Therefore, in an organisational context,
communication is a medium of either verbal or non verbal communication within a specific context
(Louw and du Ploy Cilliers, 2014).
2.1.1 Role in the workplace
Communication has several purposes in the work place that include things like negotiating, conflict
management discussing and resolving work issues as well as influencing and persuading others just to
name a few. In the movie Piers Morgan struggles to communicate effectively with Omarosa as there is
no mutual respect between them regarding the work they both need to do in the work place. In order
for an organisation to be successful, it is essential for both management and subordinates to have clear
and good communication skills as for management it provides a form of power and dominance over
employees. In the Apprentice, Donald Trump is the boss and he assigns managers to every team for
specific tasks. In one of the tasks, Piers Morgan was the project manager of the task and him and
Omarosa were on the same team and were not Seeing Eye to eye and thus Piers had no dominance or
power over Omarosa as there was a lack of mutual respect and cooperation from

American West Art
On Tuesday we took a trip to the Chrysler Museum to view the Branding the American West exhibit.
In this exhibit it had a wide selection of Art types which we had a guide take us around to view them.
While I was there I was surprised to see a more variety of art than I thought I would see. I saw
television art that was made by a Korean man, A glass hamburger with fries and a Pepsi; this one was
the most interesting to me because I had never seen art like that in my life. Another cool thing is that
most of the art here at the exhibit had descriptions by them to let you know what the art means and
who the artist were. However, their is one piece of art that I liked the most and that one is the Pima
Basket. in this work of art you see a Native American woman making bowls and a fire where she
makes the pot a solid so they are able to use it for their needs. It also shows the respect that the White
painter has toward the Native American culture. What this work of art suggest about the American
West as a place was that it was a diverse group of people who lived there. Native Americans, Settlers
and many others. This painting also shows the amount of respect that the people on the west coast had
for each other. As a brand the American west represented a more unified part of ... Show more content

It represents the tone of the Romanticism period. The questions of this work of art that remain are how
is the relationship between the painter and the Native American Woman. Even though the description
about this work does say that it is positive, we will never know for sure . Questions that this work of
art raise for me about the time period of the American West are what more many different art styles
did people make during that time period. Their were a lot of painters, sculptors and people who did
pottery in the American West and sometimes people who had those different talents would come
together and make cool types of

Analysis Of Andrew Niccol s The Great Gatsby
Imagine a world where time is money, or better yet a world where your body stops aging at twenty
five. Andrew Niccol has created this world in his movie, In Time. Throughout In Time, time has
become the universal currency; which is used to pay for day to day expenses and can be transferred
between people or capsules. In an interview about In Time, Justin Timberlake explains, You can make
time, you can borrow time, you can steal time, and it s all kind of transmitted through your pulse (Talk
In Time). Justin plays Will Salas, a poor man, [...] who wakes up everyday with twenty three hours on
his clock, so he has less than a day to live, and so he s almost like a rat in a maze, constantly running
the wheel so to speak (Talk In Time). In a twisted sense, this actually makes sense. It is not so much
future based as it is on current events. In a world where the rich live longer, our society has an
abundance of greed, income inequality, and overpopulation much like In Time. Since ancient times
people have tried to institutionalize moral values. Nevertheless, mankind being flawed can never quite
achieve perfection. Of all the vices humans possess, greed is the most significant. In Time is a precise
example of how science fiction, by shifting us from our current situations, can make room for us to
talk more openly about them. It is striking to see what people are capable of saying when the word
money is replaced with time. In Time, on the other hand, presents us with a

  • 2. Dungeon Crawler Research Paper The Silent Generation have a much higher chance of preferring a Strong, Silent type character. A Procedurally Generated Dungeon Crawler game would best suit this generation. Most of these types of games don t really require a heavily voiced Protagonist, due to the fact that more often than not your Player Character is completely isolated. Procedural Generation would add plenty of replay value to the game, as the randomly generated dungeons would never repeat (or would at least have very low odds of repeating). For the Boom Generation, a Japanese Roleplaying Game format would be the best type of game for them. Almost 100% of the time, these types of games have an overwhelmingly large spiritual theme around them. From the main character channeling their personal strengths to fight off their literal inner demons within them in an attempt to reach enlightenment, to player characters dueling fates with deities, these seem like the best option for such a spirited generation. Generation X is a defiant, one against all generation. A well made, non twitch styled First Person Shooter would best suit this generation. A Great example of this type of game ... • 3. Natural Law And Legal Positivism The contrast between Natural Law and Legal Positivism is a necessary starting point for those who wish to understand the relationship between law and morality, and the most varied manners in which it influences society to this day. When it comes to analyzing which theory offers the most well rounded idea of law, one can argue that Legal Positivism provides the best definition of what law is at its essence. However, because Legal Positivism came to exist as a critique to what was proposed by Natural Law theorists, it is significant that both are explored in depth as means to support such argument. Natural law theory is based on human nature and its predisposition to do good. The determination of what s good and evil, however, is often drawn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, it argues that at times, it is possible that for the law to be immoral. The biggest difference between the writings of Austin and Hart might be that the former while setting the framework for a plausible theory, fails to elaborate on its most basic premises. Hart expanded on legal positivism by enhancing the theory suggested by Austin and making it more credible, all while debunking natural law theory. One example is the manner in which Austin argues that the concept of law is subject to the command of a higher authority backed by threats. Although this is a way in which law can be presented, it is also a simplistic definition. Hart argues that although Austin s definition of the law might be applicable to criminal law, it fails to justify other variants of legal process such as contracts or marriage licenses. He argues that Such laws do not impose duties or obli gations. Instead, they provide individuals with facilities for realizing their wishes, by conferring legal powers upon them to create, by certain specified procedures and subject to certain (p. 27) It is difficult to associate laws such as the ones concerning marriage to the idea of a command backed by threat. In his time he introduced the term of scientific management which refers to a system where leaders are capable of managing and workers are able to execute the tasks given by the managers in the most efficient and productive way in a mass production environment with the basic element of job specialization (McKenna, 2012, p.7). Though the roots of sexism are a lot less broad when compared to racism (when taking into account there are only two flexible, recognizable human sexes), there is still a large amount of conflict surrounding the social problems between men and women. If one might not know sexism (or gender discrimination) is prejudice or discrimination based on a person s sex or gender. Sexism is something that can be affected by anyone. It has been effective mostly in history as well as the present, which has predominantly targeted many women and girls. As many people believed in Laurel Ulrich s quote Well behaved women seldom make history meant women who behave themselves as women should, rarely make history. This quote is accurate because each woman who made history had to portray themselves in a terrible manner or behave badly at some point in time to get there point across or make themselves significant . The eradication of sexism needs to be enforced because sexism creates disadvantages towards women in the world, substantially in the workplace. Sexism allows the development of negative emotions in young girls and women, and it impacts the self perception of men. I would like to change the issue of sexism towards women in our society. • 14. Peace Written by Aristophanes in 421 BCE In Aristophanes Peace written in 421 BCE, the automatist utopian trope of food is used to satirize 5th century Athens, particularly the aristocracy. In the opening scene of the play, two Athenian slaves are kneading cakes made of dung for the pet dung beetle of their master Trygaeus (Peace 1 2). Cakes are generally viewed as a decadent treats. However, theses cakes are not made out of appetizing ingredients but dung. These dung cakes are meant to parody Athenian obsession with food. After all, scholars agree that Aristophanes lived in a food obsessed comic world (Compton Engle 326). The dung beetle also appears to serve a role in satirizing the aristocracy, this beast...no food is good enough unless I first waste a whole day handling it...Go on, eat the lot, you big shit beast... the gluttonous beast! Look at him (Peace 35 38). In this instance, the beetle will only eat the dung after it has been kneaded into a cake for one day. It is possible that the dung beetle represents members of the Athenian aristocracy, of which would be most selective with the preparation of their food. In Peace, the automatist utopian trope of food is used to satirize war. In an early scene, the comic hero, Trygaeus is overlooking the god, War, tossing different types of food into his mortar. Politics for the common man and women is a lot of work to stay informed and life is so full of uncreditable information. The American people sometimes see the Goliath issues that threaten our nation, the constant fight of evil and the snarling realities of people that are in opposition to a biblical worldview of current events. Wicked people sought to suppress and control access to the truth of the Bible, which sounds familiar. Men and women were under vigorous persecution for merely translating a written Bible. Their work hurt no one and yet, these Christians were treated as criminals and persecuted even under the American government. The establishment church can be a politician s greatest enemy, the very people that should have been in support. Christians throughout thousands of years remained faithful, constant and sure unlike the political figures people encounter in the past, present, and future. • 20. Population Control. Overpopulation Is Defined As The... Population Control Overpopulation is defined as the condition of having a population so dense as to cause environmental deterioration, an impaired quality of life, or a population crash (Merriam Webster). A similar way to think of this is if there are 10 people in a small elevator, it is going to feel congested and cramped. The people will be uncomfortable and they won t be content with the current situation. This would be an impaired quality of life. If this is related to the environmental term, then an image of a small, isolated village appears. If the village has 5 acre of land surrounding it, and a small population, it will only use a small portion of the land. If the village contains a larger community, the amount of land used will ... If every couple had two children, the replacement rate would be stable enough to be balanced, which would be a resolution to an ongoing population problem. Babies born in 1900 did not live past the age of 50 compared to the current lifespan, 81 83 years. In parts of East Asia, the average life expectancy was less than 45 years in 1950, while now it sits at more than 74 years. The cause for this increase is the improvements in overall human health that is rapidly spreading around the world, not only at different rates, but also in different directions. One major cause for to enhance health is from decreasing occurrences in parasitic and chronic diseases. There is also better living standards, more nutritious diets, and cleaner drinking water, which reduces infections and prevents death in children by allowing them to survive their most vulnerable years. Babies are still being born, but the people are growing older which decreases the mortality rate further (U.S. Department of Health Human Services). In addition to a decreased mortality rate, there is an increase in the birth rate due to the reduction in infant mortality from modern medicine. The general public view summer as a time of relaxation, but an increasing number of kids are using this time to commit crimes, get in trouble, and act disrespectfully. This may seem unacceptable, but the worst consequence of summer is not what kids are doing; on the other hand, the worst consequence of summer is what kids are not doing learning. In the 1700s, school systems in America incorporated summer as a time for children to help their parents on the farm. Over time, as farming began to dwindle, summer evolved as a break from learning; consequently, children began to remember less. To accommodate for the summer learning loss epidemic and prevent children from indulging in detrimental activities, schools must shorten summer break. To achieve this, Edward gets three of the Woodvilles, Rivers, Queen Elizabeth, and Dorset, to swear an oath with Hastings. It was a political upheaval, which happened between 1765 and 1783. In this time, the rebel colonists, which were in the Thirteen American Colonies, rejected the aristocracy and the British, Monarchy overthrowing the Great Britain authority. They then founded the United States of America. The battles of concord and Lexington signified the beginning of a war between the British and the colonists. The reason of the American Revolution was the fact that the members belonging to the American colonial society rejected the British Parliament authority intended to tax them. They resisted the British attempts, which had now been renewed intended to collect duties on commodities such as molasses and sugar that had gone for many years uncollected through widespread colonists smuggling. There was an ideology behind the American Revolution. The ideological movement was identified as the American Enlightenment. It was a critical precursor to the then American Revolution. The main ideas that encompassed the American enlightenment included the concepts of liberalism, fear of corruption and republicanism. The War Soviet Expansion Of The United States Introduction In 1976, with the election of Georgia governor and Washington outsider Jimmy Carter to the Presidency, the American people could expect that a change was going to come and they were right. After years of military action attempting to stop Cold War Soviet expansion, first in Vietnam under Presidents Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon, followed by the quick and possibly unnecessary bombing of Cambodia by President Ford in response to seizure of the U.S. freighter Mayaguez (History.com, 2016), Americans were war weary. Thus they welcomed the affable Southern peanut farmer who promised a foreign policy based on high moral principles and regard for human rights. Indeed, Carter set the tone with the following statement, during the first year of his (only) term: For too many years, we ve been willing to adopt the flawed and erroneous principles and tactics of our adversaries, sometimes abandoning our own values for theirs. We ve fought fire with fire, never thinking that fire is sometimes best quenched with water. This approach failed, with Vietnam the best example of its intellectual and moral poverty. But through failure we have now found our way back to our own principles and values, and we have regained our lost confidence. (Department of State, 2016). The Balance Of Payment ( Bop ) Essay According to Federal Reserve Bank of New York, The Balance of Payment (BOP) is a statement used by a country to summarize an economy s transactions with the rest of the world by both private and public sectors for a specified time period, usually every quarter or year. It is known as Balance of International Payment , it involves all transactions between a country s residents and its non residents involving goods, services and income, financial claims on and liabilities to the rest of the word. If a country has received money, this is known as a credit , and if a country has paid or given money, the transaction is counted as a debit . Theoretically, the BOP should be zero, meaning that assets (credits) and liabilities (debits) should balance; however, in the reality, this is rarely the case. The BOP is divided into 3 main categories: the current account, the capital account, and the financial account: 1. The Current Account The current account refers to the export and import of goods and services into a country. Within the current account are credits and debits on the trade of merchandise, including goods such as raw materials and manufactured goods that are bought, sold or given away in the form of aid. Services refer to receipts from tourism, transportation, engineering, business service fees such as lawyers or management consulting, and royalties from patents and copyrights, and income generating assets such as stocks. The people that were sent to these concentration camps were treated as less than human by the power hungry leaders of the camp. As we have all learned in history classes throughout our lives, the conditions of these camps were blatantly abhorrent, and it is a surprise that people made it out of these camps alive. In this case, the inmates found humor in the sense that they were in disbelief that these things were happening to them and did not know how to react. The other emotion that was immediately felt by the inmates entering the camp was curiosity because they did not know whether they were going to live or die. Living in the camps for the first few days filled the inmates with questions about whether or not they would survive and how they would go about doing so. Also, almost every inmate justifiably entertained thoughts of suicide, but according to Frankl there was little point in committing suicide, since, for the average inmate, life expectation, [...] was very poor (18). Additionally, the first days and weeks in a concentration camp filled the inmates with fear and disgust, since they were not accustomed to seeing humans being treated in such disturbing manners. Frankl explains that all the campers slowly became acclimated to their situations once they realized that a man can get used to anything, [without knowing] how (18). When you think above it is quite hard to be certain that human beings even have a soul because we cannot see it or have hard evidence of it. Unlike the brain, which we cannot see our own but we know for certain human beings do in fact have a brain due to the hard evidence such as brain scans and the fact that we cannot do everyday tasks without it. However, saying that, it is quite common to think that we all have a soul because if you can have a conscience, then we must have a soul. So how do we know if we have a conscience? Well if you feel emotions such a sadness, happiness or even anger but also have a moral sense such as knowing the difference between right and wrong then we can conclude that you have a conscience. Even though the definition of soul is different to everyone, the Greek philosopher Aristotle defines the soul as Form of the body in the De Anima. He believed that the soul is not separate from the body but rather work as one. The striking difference between the two is that, bone structure (cortical) appears bright in CT, so is black in MR. MR images tend to have much higher contrast between grey matters. There are many instances in which it would be desirable to integrate the information obtained from two or more studies of the same patient. Application areas of multimodality matching include radio therapy and nuclear medicine [2]. In radiation therapy planning, a CT scan is needed fordose distribution calculations while the contours of the target lesion are often best outlined on MRI [3,4]. In nuclear medicine, determination of the anatomical location of dysfunctional areas and studies in functional structural relationships are facilitated by integration of functional and morphological information, and anatomical information may be used to improve PET or SPECT reconstructions. Since information gained from two images acquired in the clinical track of events is usually of a complementary nature, proper integration of useful data obtained from the separate images is often desired. Civil Rights Movement During The Civil War Civil Rights Movement With the winning of the Civil War still in the minds of many, conducting interviews of previous slaves intrigued those wanting to know what it was like being a slave. With the interview there is a look inside the life of, a woman still in her childhood, what her life was like, and how she dealt with being a slave. The life of a slave was no easy feat, but with perseverance many made it to the wars end, although life still has many hardships for the Freedman today. The interview was given to Betty Powers by the New Deals Federal Writer s Project in 1936, quite a few years after the slaves were freed. These interviews were given to give a look into the life of a slave, what they went through, and the pains and turmoil that white people had caused. This interview just proved how terrible and inhumane slavery was, and why it needed to be ended, although it caused the south to completely change its ways in the Reconstruction Era. In the textbook there were views from both the North and the South on slavery and its end. This article is on the view of the slaves and the North, believing it was the right thing to end slavery, and that the color of your skin doesn t mean you aren t human. On the South s view, they believed the opposite that African Americans were below the whites, and were meant for harsh labor. The treatment of African American s thus leads to Reverend Henry McNeal Turner to give a speech before the Georgia State Legislator in 1868, because ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Widget Self Assessment Widget Self Assessment I am very proud of my performance of my widget speech. I prepared by writing my speech in advanced and practicing it for 20 minutes every night. The only thing I regret about the preparation of this speech was waiting till the last minute to make the poster. But I thought the delivery went well. I think the only thing that went badly wrong was me having a brain fart on the speech when I had had it memorized for two days. I think it was the intimidation of peers that made me nervous. Overall, I achieved my speech calmly and confidently. I scored myself a 6 in this category because I did not rush the speech and I did not have a shaky speaking voice. I also scored myself a 6 for having no distracting behaviors. My feet were glued to the ground and a did not play with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am a quiet person when it comes to a group I am not used to talking in front of so I need to work on voice projection. I am scoring myself a 6 in clear words and appropriate because I stated my speech clearly and had no hesitations. I definitely need to work on expressions. I scored myself 3 because I think a started the speech with a smile and it slowly died and I looked like I was unhappy by the end. As for emotion I scored myself a 2 because I was very monotoned and I had no change in pitch. I thought I did a good job with eye contact. I scanned the room trying to look all directions but I didn t look into every single person s eye s so scored myself a 5 in this category. The eye contact I felt was mostly consistent but I still think I looked down too much so I scored myself a 4. I felt I did poorly in gestures. I give myself a 2 because I felt I had little to no gestures most of the time my hands were on the podium. I thought my face expressions were minimal so I scored myself a 4. And I will also score myself a 4 in body language because I felt I had some but not nearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. The Public Company Accounting Oversight The act is very comprehensive, however, some of its main points include (Ball, 2009): Creation of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board which regulates the public accounting/auditing industry Requires CEO s and CFO s to certify the financial statements are free of material misstatements and fairly represent the company s financial position Requires a strong and independent audit committee which is to oversee the audit instead of management Places limitations on the provision non audit services by a firm responsible for auditing the company in order to strengthen and enhance auditor independence Requires management to assess, and attest to, the adequacy of the company s internal controls Prior to Sarbanes Oxley and the creation of the PCAOB, the auditing industry regulated itself. Between the years 2000 and 2001 Ernst and Young, Price Waterhouse Cooper, and Arthur Anderson were involved in cases that proved the need for an oversight board (Coates, 2007). Ernst and Young settled a shareholder lawsuit for $335 million; Price WaterHouse Cooper was found to have over 8,000 instances where their auditors held stock in the company they were auditing even though it was a violation of SEC rules; and the SEC charged Arthur Anderson with fraud. It was once again vital that public confidence in our financial system was restored, hence the passage of Sarbanes Oxley. Stronger oversight of the auditing industry reassures the public the profession will be held to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 44. The Impact Of Communication On The Workplace Essay 2.0 Findings and discussion 2.1 Communication in the work place In management, planning, leading, organising and having control over the organisation requires one to have good communication skills in order to ensure that fellow colleagues and employees are able to work efficiently and effectively (Robbins Coulter, 2016). Therefore, in an organisational context, communication is a medium of either verbal or non verbal communication within a specific context (Louw and du Ploy Cilliers, 2014). 2.1.1 Role in the workplace Communication has several purposes in the work place that include things like negotiating, conflict management discussing and resolving work issues as well as influencing and persuading others just to name a few. In the movie Piers Morgan struggles to communicate effectively with Omarosa as there is no mutual respect between them regarding the work they both need to do in the work place. In order for an organisation to be successful, it is essential for both management and subordinates to have clear and good communication skills as for management it provides a form of power and dominance over employees. In the Apprentice, Donald Trump is the boss and he assigns managers to every team for specific tasks. In one of the tasks, Piers Morgan was the project manager of the task and him and Omarosa were on the same team and were not Seeing Eye to eye and thus Piers had no dominance or power over Omarosa as there was a lack of mutual respect and cooperation from ... • 45. American West Art On Tuesday we took a trip to the Chrysler Museum to view the Branding the American West exhibit. In this exhibit it had a wide selection of Art types which we had a guide take us around to view them. While I was there I was surprised to see a more variety of art than I thought I would see. I saw television art that was made by a Korean man, A glass hamburger with fries and a Pepsi; this one was the most interesting to me because I had never seen art like that in my life. Another cool thing is that most of the art here at the exhibit had descriptions by them to let you know what the art means and who the artist were. However, their is one piece of art that I liked the most and that one is the Pima Basket. in this work of art you see a Native American woman making bowls and a fire where she makes the pot a solid so they are able to use it for their needs. It also shows the respect that the White painter has toward the Native American culture. What this work of art suggest about the American West as a place was that it was a diverse group of people who lived there. Native Americans, Settlers and many others. This painting also shows the amount of respect that the people on the west coast had for each other. As a brand the American west represented a more unified part of ... The questions of this work of art that remain are how is the relationship between the painter and the Native American Woman. Even though the description about this work does say that it is positive, we will never know for sure . Questions that this work of art raise for me about the time period of the American West are what more many different art styles did people make during that time period. Their were a lot of painters, sculptors and people who did pottery in the American West and sometimes people who had those different talents would come together and make cool types of ... • 46. Analysis Of Andrew Niccol s The Great Gatsby Imagine a world where time is money, or better yet a world where your body stops aging at twenty five. Andrew Niccol has created this world in his movie, In Time. Throughout In Time, time has become the universal currency; which is used to pay for day to day expenses and can be transferred between people or capsules. In an interview about In Time, Justin Timberlake explains, You can make time, you can borrow time, you can steal time, and it s all kind of transmitted through your pulse (Talk In Time). Justin plays Will Salas, a poor man, [...] who wakes up everyday with twenty three hours on his clock, so he has less than a day to live, and so he s almost like a rat in a maze, constantly running the wheel so to speak (Talk In Time). In a twisted sense, this actually makes sense. It is not so much future based as it is on current events. In a world where the rich live longer, our society has an abundance of greed, income inequality, and overpopulation much like In Time. Since ancient times people have tried to institutionalize moral values. Nevertheless, mankind being flawed can never quite achieve perfection. Of all the vices humans possess, greed is the most significant. In Time is a precise example of how science fiction, by shifting us from our current situations, can make room for us to talk more openly about them. It is striking to see what people are capable of saying when the word money is replaced with time. In Time, on the other hand, presents us with a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
