Case Analysis Of Asiana Airlines Flight 214
Asiana Airlines Flight 214 Lalith Gopalakrishnan Embry Riddle Aeronautical University February 21,
2016 Summary In this Aviation human factors case analysis, I am going to evaluate and conclude the
primary and secondary human factors contributed to the Asiana Airlines flight 214 crashed at San
Francisco International Airport (SFO), San Francisco, California which resulted in 3 fatalities, 187
minor injuries and 49 serious injuries out of 309 people aboard on July 6, 2013. To evaluate the
primary and secondary human factors contributed towards the accident of Asiana Airlines Flight 214,
the use of online searches and NTSB reports will be examined. Asiana Airlines flight 214 is a
scheduled passenger flight from Incheon International Airport near Seoul, South Korea, to San
Francisco International Airport (SFO) in San Francisco, California, USA. On July 6th, 2013 on the
Saturday morning, the Boeing 777 200ER aircraft operating the flight, crashed when on a final
approach into SFO, when the airplane struck the seawall breaking the tail section of the plane. Of 307
people aboard, 3 died, 49 sustained serious injuries and 187 sustained minor injuries. The airplane was

Failure to notice based on the two indications that the approach was un stabilized and initiated a go

The United States Government
For some people, it is difficult to understand how the United States government is laid out, what the
three branches of the government are, or how they are different from one another. Those people may
not understand how each branch keeps one another in line or how their duties are divided. Each
branch has its own individual set of responsibilities and duties to make sure the government is run
precisely and that the rights of the citizens are respected. Learning about the three branches further
beckons to discuss the separation of powers as well as implied and inherent powers. These powers
may also be difficult or impossible to understand when reading about them in legal terms, or on
government information. This misunderstanding can lead ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Executive branch, or the President of the United States, has the authority to execute and enforce
the laws approved by congress. He also acts as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and
appoints the cabinet, the heads of the 15 executive departments. Finally, the Judicial branch includes
the Supreme court and the Federal district courts. Members of this branch are appointed by the
President and approved by the Senate. McClennon goes on to say, Another criticism of divided
government is that it breeds toxic relations between the executive and legislative branches of the
federal government. This seems especially true when one considers the current dynamic between
President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans. But then he goes on to say that this, still, is
very insignificant in regards to actual legislation. For those troubled by relatively unencumbered,
concentrated power of this sort, the Framers commitment to checks and balances provided, and still
provides, an answer, said Jon D. Michaels in his

Dna Reaction Essay
DNA: Interactions between Proteins
Deoxyribonucleic Acid is a molecule that contains the genetic makeup of almost all living organisms.
While Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or DNA, has been successfully mapped out, many of its interactions
with certain proteins and enzymes have not been fully revealed within the atomic level.
The history and mysteries of DNA continue to fascinate biologists and chemists alike. However, we
must question, who was the first to discover DNA, and what scientists have done to further enhance
our understanding of it? In short, DNA was first isolated by physician Friedrich Miescher in 1869; in
1937, William Astbury became the first person to produce an x ray diffraction pattern of the DNA
molecule. Sixteen years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Essentially, adenine may only bind with thymine with two hydrogen bonds, and guanine may only
bind with cytosine with three hydrogen bonds. In broader perspective, purines may only bond with
pyrimidines. Adenine and guanines are the purines, due to their double ring molecular structure, while
thymine and cytosine are the pyrimidines due to there single ring structure. In addition the strands of
DNA are connected together between base pairs, through Hydrogen bonding. While each base pair
may only bind with its complimentary base pair, it is the sequence of the base pairs that creates such
genetic diversity amongst living organisms around the world. As scientists further investigate the
atomic structure and function of DNA, DNA replication is also being further examined. During DNA
replication, multiple enzymes, such as DNA Ligase, DNA Helicase, and DNA polymerase assist in
unwinding the DNA double strand into single stranded DNA (essentially an unwinding of the DNA in
which the hydrogen bonds are broken separating the two strands) which would latter be used as a
template for the creation of a new single DNA strand. DNA is thus widely known as the genetic
material for almost all living organisms. Although DNA replication is in general understood, its
atomic structure and interactions (between DNA and its proteins and enzymes) are not. Hence, we
must begin to

that he has loved her from afar for a long time, but now that she has called for him he can be her
beloved. He is the most attractive man she had ever beheld; they begin their relationship, but he warns
the Lady that although he will come whenever she calls, but that she must not call too often, or they
will be caught. Their relationship continues, and the Lady does not listen to the knights warning. The

Lady of Yonec was much out spoken, but before the arrival of her supernatural knight, she was alone

Pros And Cons Of Farm Subsidies
For many years, there have been numerous critics of farm subsidies. Free market conservatives
welfare state defending liberals alike have supported deep cuts in these payments to farmers. In many
peoples eyes, farmers are wealthier than the average American. So why should farmers get tens of
billions of dollars each year in the form of federal aid? According to the authors of the Farm Bill, there
would be bold cuts in some of these controversial subsidy programs. The opposition to the Farm Bill
argued that cutting/eliminating one big subsidy altogether would save taxpayers a total of
approximately $23 billion over a period of ten years. However, according to the Congressional Budget
Office, total government aid to farmers will swell to $24 by this year (2017). In my opinion, despite
what the politicians in Washington say, farmers will always get their money. That is, the agriculture
committees in the Congress will always make sure that farmers get their money. ... Show more content

As a fiscal conservative, I want to eliminate programs that ultimately cost taxpayers billions of dollars.
Also, farm subsidies continue to tie farmers in a knot of unproductive regulations. According to the
CATO Institute, farm subsidies also seem to damage the nation s economy. Farm programs cause
overproduction, the overuse of marginal farmland, land price inflation excess borrowing by farm
businesses. In addition, according to the Government Accountability Office, there are about $500
million worth of improper farm payment each year. Also, since about 2000, the federal government
has paid $1.3 billion in subsidies to people who own farmland that is not even used for the purpose of
farming. If farm subsidies were to be completely eliminated, agriculture in the U.S. would continue to
thrive because farms would adjust plant crops that diversify their sources of

Warren Buffett s Assassination
Warren Edward Buffett on August 30, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska. Buffett s father, Howard, worked as
stockbroker and served as a U.S. congressman. His mother, Leila Stahl Buffett, was a homemaker.
Buffett was the second of three children and the only boy. Buffett demonstrated a knack for financial
and business matters early in his childhood. Warren often visited his father s stock brokerage shop as a
child, and chalked in the stock prices on the blackboard in the office. At 11 years old he made his first
investment, buying three shares of Cities Service Preferred at $38 per share. The stock quickly
dropped to only $27, but Buffett held on tenaciously until they reached $40. He sold his shares at a
small profit, but regretted the decision when Cities Service shot up to nearly $200 a share. By the age
of 13, Buffett was running his own businesses as a paperboy and selling his own horse racing tip

Pros And Cons Of Synthes To The Biotresorbable Industry
The competitive landscape of the bioresorbable industry poses a threat for Synthes, as it s composed

The Contribution Of The Volunteer
Introduction to the volunteer
Diana Dickson (pseudonym) is a 48 year old female, born and raised in New Zealand who works as a
microbiologist in a large urban hospital in Auckland. She is happily married and has three grown
children two girls and one boy. She currently lives with her husband and her youngest son. At age 20,
Diana had a lump in her left ankle which was surgically removed . The lump was misdiagnosed as
spitz nevus when it was in fact malignant melanoma. According to literature, melanoma is the most
serious type of skin cancer which progresses quickly and can be life threatening. If not diagnosed
early or is misdiagnosed, the cancer can spread (metastasis) to other parts of the body (Brown,
Edwards, Seaton Buckley, 2015). Diana received the correct diagnosis ten years later when she
discovered another lump in her left groin, which made the doctors looked at the biopsy slide of the
previous lump on her ankle and confirmed that it originated from there. At age 40, she had the lump
and the lymph nodes surgically removed. Her lymph nodes were removed as a precaution because her
doctors thought it is possible for cancer cells to spread to the lymph nodes without causing them to
enlarge. The removal of the lymph nodes in her left groin caused her to be diagnosed with
lymphoedema in her left lower limb.
Lymphoedema refers to swelling due to poor and limited lymph drainage in the distal end of the limb.

Greek Gods In The Odyssey
People rarely like their lives controlled by anyone, but when people usually would be fine if gods
played a huge role in their existence. A prominent example of would be in the ancient era during the
presence of the Greek and Troy civilizations. Both sides shared similar views on their many gods such
as Venus is the Roman version of Aphrodite, or Cronus is Greek version for Saturn. Every second of
their lives were believed to be determined by these Olympian Gods. Two epics that exhibit how gods
impacted Greek and Roman life include The Iliad and The Odyssey ,both written by Homer and
translated by Robert Fitzgerald, express traits and activities that were dictated by the gods. Gods
controlled people through predestined fates, explanations to everything, and support in aid in times of
misery. Gods were given to almost everything the Greeks couldn t either explain or what they knew.

Global Warming Problems
Barack Obama once said, Climate change is no longer some far off problem; it is happening here, it is
happening now. One section of climate change Obama talks about is global warming. This major topic
has been a developing controversy around the world. Global warming is a growing problem in the
world and it needs to be solved. Global warming is a growing problem that can be seen in the history,
cause, effect, different aspects, and possible solutions.
To start, global warming has been a growing problem for several years across the world. Global
warming is the warming of the Earth s atmosphere (Ward 56). The increase in temperature has to be
over a long period of time. When toxic gases like carbon dioxide and methane are released into the
open air and are trapped in the atmosphere (Staff). These greenhouse gases destroy the ozone layer,
making sunrays easier to reach Earth. This depletion overall increases the heat in the world. In fact,
the greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere cause a spike in global temperature, known as global
warming. In the beginning, global warming was first discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824. Fourier
discovered that the atmospheric gases can increase global temperatures. In 1938 Guy Callendar
discovers that greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. Several more studies are taken over
time to record the change in global temperature over many years. By 1968 glaciologist John Mercer
argues that glaciers are beginning to melt due to the

William Shakespeare s King Arthur And His Knights Of The...
King Arthur
Are woman in the Arthurian legend depicted? The answer is found in King Arthur and his Knights of
The Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green. The woman in the Arthurian legend were depicted
because they are tempting, cheaters, and liars.
The first example of the woman being tempting would be :
It seemed as if the horse was going to carry him right into the midst of the flood. Percivale tugged at
the bridle, but the horse would neither stop nor turn: to the very edge they came, and Percivale saw the
dark, foaming water roaring in front of him. Them he made the sign of the cross, and the horse reared
up suddenly, neighing wildly, and shook him from its back; then it plunged into the river, screaming
terribly, and was gone from sight; only it seemed that the water burnt after it (p. 250).
This quote shows that the woman the gave Sir Percivale the dark horse put upon a curse the horse. The
woman was a test to Sir Percivale so he shall not be tempted along his journey to the Holy Grail.
The second example of the woman being tempting is:
Sir, she mummered, noble Percivale, I am yours for ever and ever; of all men in the world I love only
you. So kiss me now; pledge me in this bowl of wine, and swear that henceforth you will be mine
alone, and do all things that I command you. Then Percivale pledged her in the strong wine, and bent
forward to kiss her on the lips. But as he did so he thought suddenly of Blanchefleur his own true lady

The Ones Who Walk Away By Ursula Le Guin
The Ones Who Walk Away is a short story by Ursula Le Guin. Le Guin bases this story off of an idea
posed by philosopher William James, which is how hideous would it be if people were willing to
accept the torment of one person for the sake of a perfect society. Le Guin paints this reality in a
Utilitarian city named Omelas in order to show the flaws within the Utilitarian belief system. In
Omelas people are able to indulge themselves in their wildest fantasies without any negative effects.
The people are portrayed as being happy, passionate, mature, and intelligent. Their happiness is based
solely on a just discrimination of what is necessary (231). Le Guin states that in Omelas there are no
clergy, but there can be religion. This leads to the people having no guilt because they are able to
indulge in their fleshly desires without anyone to inform them that it is wrong. What Le Guin is
portraying here is a nominal religion where one can claim to believe yet refuses to act out their faith.

F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby: A Life Foolishly Lived
Released in 1925, F. Scott Fitzgerald s novel, The Great Gatsby cleverly demonstrates the manners
and morals commonly practiced throughout the time period. The plot revolves around several main
themes and effectively expresses Fitzgerald s unique perspective. With an objective standpoint, Nick
Carraway narrates the story as Jay Gatsby, a foolish racketeer, tries to win over his lifelong love,
Daisy Buchanan. Although pecuniary matters can often be too large of an influence on human
relationships, the novel unveils several powerful battles entangling love, morals, and money.

Transforming his name and developing new life values are only parts of the lifecycle in which Jay
Gatsby participates in order to follow his dreams. Although not always successful in creating new
individualities, Gatsby s attempts are fully genuine.
Gatsby struggles to fit into social groups in to which Daisy Buchanan belongs. Daisy and her husband,
Tom Buchanan, often attend parties hosted by Gatsby. Although these parties may be essentially
hosted by him, Gatsby does not wholeheartedly attend. As he shrinks away to other areas of his home,
Gatsby is able to avoid socializing with his guests. I made an attempt to find my host but the two or
three people of whom I asked his whereabouts stared at me in such an amazed way and denied so
vehemently any knowledge of his movement (46). This quote demonstrates how many of the
partygoers have become used to Gatsby s nonattendance. Therefore, the primary motive of his
characteristic social gatherings is revealed, to attract the attention and win the heart of Daisy
Buchanan.
Although Gatsby believes his parties may be bringing him somewhat closer to his love, they further
extend the gap between him and other social groups. At many parties, guests often speak of him and
his fictitious past with little concern of his reputation. For example, one guest at a party speaks of ...he
was a German spy during the war (48) and another speaks of him saying, I ll bet he killed a man (48),

James Madison And The Creation Of The Constitution
Instances of inequality, especially in regard to citizenship and voting, trace back to the birth of the
American nation, specifically, to James Madison and the creation of the Constitution. In late 1786, a
Revolutionary War Veteran by the name of Daniel Shays, led an armed insurrection of improvised
farmers who marched on the United States Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts in an unsuccessful
attempt to seize weapons and overthrow the government. Colonial elites, horrified by the threat to
their wealth and power, sought to reform the government, concerned with protecting their own rights.
After Shays rebellion, it was clear that elites were the vulnerable minority. Compounding this rhetoric,
the primary architect of the constitution, James Madison, writes: Complaints are everywhere heard

The Pros And Cons Of Hong Kong Schooling
Hong Kong schooling can be seen as an elitist or as a pyramidal school system. As formal schooling
begins, many (if not all) parents will make every effort to help their child gain admission to
prestigious primary schools such as La Salle. At Year 6, students strive for higher banding allocation
so as to be assigned to better secondary schools. In sixth form, students fight for the best exam scores
possible, as the students with the best exam scores are offered places of first degree courses at the
eight government funded institutions. Even then, intense competition has occurred amongst this group
of high achievers for admission to the more preferred institutions or courses. For example, the
University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) have been the
most preferred among the eight for many years. This scenario is exceptionally consistent with
traditional chinese culture, as according to Gow et al., 199, only a small ... Show more content on

homework every school day, along with the assignments during Christmas, Chinese New Year, Easter,

Many less able students who cannot survive the harsh curriculum eventually have nervous
breakdowns. However, students who survive the education system in Hong Kong and the IB curricula
have the mentality, motivation, and skills to succeed in any system around the world (see Biggs

Green Eggs And Ham To The Cat In The Hat
Pen names and Literature
Dr.Seuss was a pen name? Yes from Green Eggs and Ham to The Cat in the Hat, all those books were
not in fact written by a man named Seuss. Many authors use a pen name for a number of reasons. To
protect their identity or hide their gender, maybe even to be able to produce more books. Therefore,
pen names are useful to authors. To begin with, for many years books that were written by women
were discarded. Men thought that writing was no woman s business. All avid readers certainly know
the famous Harry Potter, known world wide and recognized this series of books were written by J.K.
Rowling. Of course readers know that, but do they know that the full name is Joanne Rowling?

Maybe an author tries to get published so many times in a publishing company that they automatically
discard their work when they submit it even when it could be really good material that time! A pen
name might be the answer. The publishers will look at the name and not recognize it, they will
actually review it this time. Now if this author tries to get published somewhere else using their actual
name, they could be producing double the work and gaining as much. To produce twice as much was
Stephen King s goal when he created the nom de plume of Richard Bachman. According to Who is
Richard Bachman? an article by J. L. Campbell It was common practice for publishers to release only
one book per year. Writing as both King and Bachman, he could produce twice as much (Campbell
11). King was so fixated on making Bachman such a real name that he even created a detailed
backstory about Bachman (Campbell 14). Bachman s life story included a fictional wife, a former
position with the Coast Guard and the operation of a dairy farm in New Hampshire (Campbell 14).
King then started to create works under both names. King would then continue writing under both
names even after Bachman s true identity was revealed, meaning that he would still get twice the
money that he would get if he only used one. Clearly, pen names are an amazing way to publish more
works and even get more

Essay about Attacks and Al-Qaeda in Northern Afghanistan
According to the New York Times, the Taliban and Al Qaeda have opened a new front in the
previously peaceful northern Afghanistan. They have also stepped up attacks in their heartland,
southern provinces. To defeat the insurgents, General McChrystal, the US commander in Kabul, has
requested 40,000 additional troops and resources to persuade the moderate Taliban to abandon
violence. But this strategy is likely to succeed only with the help from key regional states.
Increased fatalities and dwindled public support have put pressure on President Obama to end the war

America and Pakistan have different goals in Afghanistan. While Washington wants to defeat the
Taliban and Al Qaeda, Pakistan wants them to stop violence in its territories and to capture power in
Kabul. Islamabad sees the Afghan war as an opportunity to strengthen its military, with Western
support, to fend off India and lean on New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir dispute. From Pakistan s
perspective, the Taliban jihadists trained in Pakistani madarsas and supported by the Inter Service
Intelligence, the military spy agency will make the best allies in Kabul and help augment the anti
Indian jihad in Kashmir.
All other neighbors, except China, had assisted the Northern Alliance to topple the Taliban in 2001
and still oppose their victory. India, the regional hegemon with broad influence in South Asia, believes
a Taliban ruled Afghanistan will support the jihadists in Kashmir and fan the fire of Islamic extremism
elsewhere. Iran fears that the Taliban will foment troubles in its Sunni areas, and Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan are afraid that a Taliban state will motivate their extremists to pursue a similar goal. All
these nations had helped the Northern Alliance to topple the Taliban in 2001. China too is now worried
that Taliban victory could further fuel Islamist militancy in Xinjiang and other western provinces.

Why Do We Lose Australian Identity
In the Digital Age, people worldwide are more connected and information is more accessible. This has
allowed wider sharing of cultures, and even naissances of new ones. As a result, pre existing cultures
are influenced by other cultures, and a cultural shift takes places. The way people use language makes
a part of their culture, and hence a change in said culture will at least partially result in a linguistic
change. Because of this, some argue Australian English is losing its unique characteristics, and hence
Australian identity is gradually affected. On one hand, it is evident that globalisation has resulted in
lessened use of stereotypically Australian utterances such as she ll be right , g day , and mate .
However, a lessened use does not necessary mean characteristics are lost. While we may not employ
the Australian English lexicon in conversation, such characteristics may be preserved by humorous or
ironic usage. Further, an evolved lexicon does not necessary mean identities of Australians are
affected. For one, Australian identity is different to everyone. While it seems there is an ideal
Australian identity that holds a certain set of values, for the most part, identity and values are different
for every Australian. Nevertheless, even if there were such a thing as a collective Australian identity, it
would be resistant to linguistic shifts. While Australian English may be losing its unique
characteristics, one s identity and values remain the same. If anything,

Child Soldiers Amnesty
Should Child Soldiers be Granted Amnesty or Should they be Prosecuted? Although not everyone
knows it, there is a huge tragedy that is, and has been, going on even at this exact moment. That
tragedy is children being taken out of their ordinary lives, whether by force or not, away from their
families and into battle. Despite how much these children went through in the wars, the question still
remains: once the war is over, should they be granted amnesty, or be prosecuted? The answer to this
comes from thorough research. Child soldiers should be granted amnesty because they are unaware of
what they are doing, they need help rather than prosecution, and many are forced to fight.
The first reason why child soldiers should be legally forgiven ... Show more content on

The side that argues prosecuting the child soldiers says kids were given the option to stay or leave, and
most chose to stay. That is only partly true. It is true that they are given the option. Yet, the children
indirectly forced to stay. Because they have become addicted to the drugs the warlords gave them,
they are now dependent on them for those drugs and simply cannot leave, as it reads on
debatewise.org. Also, Ishmael Beah points out that through the war, they have gained a connection to
their commanders and fellow soldiers. For some, including Ishmael, it is the only family they have
left. So, they may, indeed, choose to stay, but not for the reason the many believe. Instead of staying
for the fighting, the stay for of family. Those who argue that child soldiers should be considered the
perpetrators also say that if we grant amnesty to the soldiers, there would be no justice for the victims
they killed. This is completely agreeable and understandable. It is agreeable that there should be
punishment given in order to fulfill justice for the victims. However, in order for justice to be fully
satisfied, the children should not be the ones punished, but rather, the warlords who wish to come to
the US from their country of origin. The warlords drug the child soldiers and kill those who do not
follow orders. They also force some to join. If child soldiers were

Bukowski s youth played a great role in the consistent content that he provided. He had a level and

how to type, being physically and verbally abusive. Getting beaten with a razor strap three times a

was the fact that he was a virgin till his mid twenties. He had a shyness problem and horrible acne.
Those factors in his youth were ingredients to being an outcast in mainstream society, which is bound

In Africa the education is something that not everyone gets, so they are not aware about how they get
the disease, how they can prevent it or what are the affects. A reason for why in Africa they do not
receive the education is because there are a very few amount of teachers, and the teachers that they
have may also be contaminated and are not able to execute their job correctly. HIV/AIDS affects
everyone in their community because the disease spreads fast in their case (the people in Africa). This
is due to their sexual behavior.
Their culture does not have monogamy or a custom of only one sexual partner, but they have many
different sexual partners, and that is why HIV/AIDS spreads so quickly in Africa. They also do not use
protection because it is not available to most people and so chances are higher to get HIV/AIDS.
Another cultural aspect is that there is a lot of prejudice against testing. Many people do not want to
get tested for HIV/AIDS because one, they are scared the test might come back positive, second if it
does result positive how will they tell their family/friends and thirdly how will they get the treatment
they need to get. If the people get tested and do want to not tell anyone, because of various reasons,
and as a result the problem amplifies and does not get solved. Another problem for the cultural aspect
is get the people to take responsibility and try to change. Of coarse it is easier to ignore the problem

Similarities Between Italian And German Revolutions
The Italian and German revolutions reacted similarly to the failed revolutions in 1848. This reaction
caused both revolutions to take analogous paths and have similar results. The revolutions after 1848

nature are looking to cause radical change whereas conservatism looks to preserve the past. These
conservative revolutions differed however with their ideals and their foreign policy. Both Italy and

Italy and Germany differ the most with their foreign policy. Cavour tends to use major foreign powers
as ally in unification. This strategy is employed in their war with Austria. Cavour flatters and
impresses Napoleon III in the Crimean War. This new relationship leads to the support that annexed
Piedmont from Austrian powers. Conversely, Bismarck annoys other powers into going into war. This
tactic keeps Germany from appearing threatening and allows Germany to assert dominance of
neighboring powers. The Ems Telegram is a great example of Bismarck urging a power into war. A
friendly negotiation was depicted as a contentious affair between two bitter rivals. This depiction
stirred the French public into encouraging war and ultimately put France into a war they were not
prepared for. Both Bismarck and Cavour manipulate foreign powers but use different tactics. This

Many looked to reap the benefits that were promised to them for enlisting in the army. As the

Throughout the play Dionysus never got the respect that he felt that he deserved from the other gods.
The reason that Dionysus received no respect is because he is mortal; his mother who was a mortal
gave birth to him by a god, so in the world they are living in this makes him equal to the humans not
the gods. Because Dionysus was both Greek and Asiatic, along with being part god and part human

Juvenile Corrections Essay
1. What are five goals of juvenile corrections? How effectively are these goals achieved? The goals of
juvenile corrections are too deter, rehabilitate and reintegrate, prevent, punish and reattribute, as well
as isolate and control youth offenders and offenses. Each different goal comes with its own challenges.
The goal of deterrence has its limits; because rules and former sanctions, as well anti criminal
modeling and reinforcement are met with young rebellious minds. Traditional counseling and
diversion which are integral aspects of community corrections can sometimes be ineffective, and
studies have shown that sometimes a natural self intervention can take place as the youth grows older;
resulting in the youth outgrowing delinquency. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What are halfway houses? What are their functions and goals? Halfway houses are non confining
residential facilities intended to provide an alternative to incarceration as a period of readjustment to
community for offenders after confinement. Halfway houses are used by parolees while they seek out
employment and adjust to the outside world. Halfway houses aim to give the parolee a transitional
shelter so that they may adjust and reintegrate into the community. Freedoms are often restricted and
parolee activity is also monitored. 3. What are wilderness experiences and what are their functions?
Wilderness experiences are programs that focus on outdoor activities to help develop self worth, pride,
and trust in others. This program is an alternative to incarceration, and is less expensive. Wilderness
programs like The Rawhide Boys Ranch have had a great deal of success. RBR is a faith based
residential center in Wisconsin and was established in the 1960s. RBR can accommodate around 60 at

resulting in a 73 percent success rate. 4. What is meant by shock probation? What are different types
of shock probation? What are some major differences among them? Shock probation is an

Internet Security Essay
Internet security are such a big thing because many things are based off the internet. As in most of the
storage is done off of cloud storage, so you don t need lots of storage in your computer. Which makes
internets unsafe because anyone could hack into your account and take your information. Like your
bank account and your personal accounts that could really hurt you I the long run. Or someone could
put a scam on a common website that most people go on. And could hack everyone s computer that
has the scams. Another way of spamming is by hacking into someone else email and sending them
spam that looks like legitimate with a subject or message. Fooled sender email addresses, logos,
trademarks, and the wording used in the message will often add to the trick. Some of the risks of
internet security are virus, worms, spyware, adware, spam and phishing. Virus is a program designed
to copy itself and spread, it usually attaching itself to applications. It can be spread by downloading
files, exchanging CD/DVDs and USB sticks, copying files from servers, or by opening infected email
attachments. It could destroy your computer. Worm can be injected into a network by any types of
means, like a USB stick or an email attachment. Email worm tends to send itself to all email addresses
it finds on the infected

PC. The email then appears to originate from the infected user, who may be on your trusted senders
list, and catch you off guard. This happens too many people how subscribe

For example the waistless chemise and schoolgirl pinafores occupied people s eyes (Palmer and
Clark., 2005) at that time. After this kind of dressing design appeared, women look more confident

Mary Quant. She changed the dressing style of this decade and created the famous mini skirt. It soon
became the most popular product in the summer of 1960 (Tolkien., 2002). Most importantly, she
improved and created the dressing styles of 1960 and women s dresses have become sexier and more

Wrestler Men Perpetuating Violence Against A Professional...

overtones that exist. These connotations are squashed with images of men forcing themselves upon
women and by diminishing wrestling roles in the WWE world that show any distinction of
homosexuality. The women wrestlers are mostly used as illustrations of the men s heterosexuality, thus
dismissing any impression of homosexuality. Divas: Sex and Male fantasy. Before the 1990 s women
were not characterized much in the WWE but to escort a man to the wrestling ring, usually as a
girlfriend or wife. As Katz says, the conventions of pornography have made their way more and more

minor parts in the WWE and are often seen as Katz says bit players in a male narrative, as sexual

when this happens it is nearly always presented in the context that the woman deserves it or her

entertaining it has the effect of normalizing, justifying, and rationalizing men s violence against
women. (Jhally, 2003). There

The Effect Of Serum Albumin On Blood And Urine Samples...
77 citations.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Firstly, a test to determine the concentration of serum albumin in both blood and urine samples were
carried out. Table 1 demonstrates that Patient B discharged 43mg/mL of serum albumin which was
within the normal literature reference range provided.
Low serum albumin levels are usually associated with acute glomerulonephritis, the normal albumin
levels for Patient B implies that acute glomerulonephritis could be eliminated from list of conditions
provided. Thus suggested for both Patient B and Patient N there were no leakage of the serum albumin
in the urine. Nevertheless, (McClatchey, 2002) identified that low albumin levels may also signify
impaired liver function. Conditions such as hepatic cirrhosis and chronic hepatic cirrhosis can also be
dismissed because of the normal level of albumin in blood. This implies that no anomalies were
present thus signifying accurate results.
An advantage of the test was that the blood samples used are one of the leading analysis preferences
chosen to identify biomarkers, and easily obtainable from patients. However, as direct assay was
unavailable, Bromocresol green solution was used which changed the electronic structure thus specific
whilst binding to albumin. As a result, this generates accurate results with no anomalies for both
serum and blood. Moreover, within the expense limitations of University of Chester, a simple assay
was used (Rehm, 2006) expands that BCA assay may have been used

The United States Government For some people, it is difficult to understand how the United States government is laid out, what the three branches of the government are, or how they are different from one another. Those people may not understand how each branch keeps one another in line or how their duties are divided. Each branch has its own individual set of responsibilities and duties to make sure the government is run precisely and that the rights of the citizens are respected. Learning about the three branches further beckons to discuss the separation of powers as well as implied and inherent powers. These powers may also be difficult or impossible to understand when reading about them in legal terms, or on government information. This misunderstanding can lead ... McClennon goes on to say, Another criticism of divided government is that it breeds toxic relations between the executive and legislative branches of the federal government. This seems especially true when one considers the current dynamic between President Barack Obama and congressional Republicans. But then he goes on to say that this, still, is very insignificant in regards to actual legislation. • 5. Dna Reaction Essay DNA: Interactions between Proteins Deoxyribonucleic Acid is a molecule that contains the genetic makeup of almost all living organisms. While Deoxyribonucleic Acid, or DNA, has been successfully mapped out, many of its interactions with certain proteins and enzymes have not been fully revealed within the atomic level. The history and mysteries of DNA continue to fascinate biologists and chemists alike. However, we must question, who was the first to discover DNA, and what scientists have done to further enhance our understanding of it? In short, DNA was first isolated by physician Friedrich Miescher in 1869; in 1937, William Astbury became the first person to produce an x ray diffraction pattern of the DNA molecule. Sixteen years ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Essentially, adenine may only bind with thymine with two hydrogen bonds, and guanine may only bind with cytosine with three hydrogen bonds. In broader perspective, purines may only bond with pyrimidines. Adenine and guanines are the purines, due to their double ring molecular structure, while thymine and cytosine are the pyrimidines due to there single ring structure. In addition the strands of DNA are connected together between base pairs, through Hydrogen bonding. While each base pair may only bind with its complimentary base pair, it is the sequence of the base pairs that creates such genetic diversity amongst living organisms around the world. As scientists further investigate the atomic structure and function of DNA, DNA replication is also being further examined. During DNA replication, multiple enzymes, such as DNA Ligase, DNA Helicase, and DNA polymerase assist in unwinding the DNA double strand into single stranded DNA (essentially an unwinding of the DNA in which the hydrogen bonds are broken separating the two strands) which would latter be used as a template for the creation of a new single DNA strand. DNA is thus widely known as the genetic material for almost all living organisms. Although DNA replication is in general understood, its atomic structure and interactions (between DNA and its proteins and enzymes) are not. Hence, we must begin to ... The Lady of Yonec was much out spoken, but before the arrival of her supernatural knight, she was alone in the world with no one to voice her opinions to; the transformation of the Lady is complete when she watches her beloved just before death in his world. She embraces her fear of the lord and awaits his death. These Lais are strong and unashamed acceptance of adultery and Marie s largest statement about marriage of the Medieval period. In Guigemar and Yonec, Marie uses female anger and the jealousy purported by the courtly romances to exploit marriage and the status of the medieval woman. Marie asserts in these lais that women are not allowed free choice and the ability to voice their opinion than they should not be held accountable for being adulterous, if they have been good women in all other regards; as the two discussed heroines have ... • 7. Pros And Cons Of Farm Subsidies For many years, there have been numerous critics of farm subsidies. Free market conservatives welfare state defending liberals alike have supported deep cuts in these payments to farmers. In many peoples eyes, farmers are wealthier than the average American. So why should farmers get tens of billions of dollars each year in the form of federal aid? According to the authors of the Farm Bill, there would be bold cuts in some of these controversial subsidy programs. The opposition to the Farm Bill argued that cutting/eliminating one big subsidy altogether would save taxpayers a total of approximately $23 billion over a period of ten years. However, according to the Congressional Budget Office, total government aid to farmers will swell to $24 by this year (2017). Global warming is a growing problem in the world and it needs to be solved. Global warming is a growing problem that can be seen in the history, cause, effect, different aspects, and possible solutions. To start, global warming has been a growing problem for several years across the world. Global warming is the warming of the Earth s atmosphere (Ward 56). The increase in temperature has to be over a long period of time. When toxic gases like carbon dioxide and methane are released into the open air and are trapped in the atmosphere (Staff). These greenhouse gases destroy the ozone layer, making sunrays easier to reach Earth. This depletion overall increases the heat in the world. In fact, the greenhouse gases entering the atmosphere cause a spike in global temperature, known as global warming. In the beginning, global warming was first discovered by Joseph Fourier in 1824. Fourier discovered that the atmospheric gases can increase global temperatures. In 1938 Guy Callendar discovers that greenhouse effect is the cause of global warming. The answer is found in King Arthur and his Knights of The Round Table by Roger Lancelyn Green. The woman in the Arthurian legend were depicted because they are tempting, cheaters, and liars. The first example of the woman being tempting would be : It seemed as if the horse was going to carry him right into the midst of the flood. Percivale tugged at the bridle, but the horse would neither stop nor turn: to the very edge they came, and Percivale saw the dark, foaming water roaring in front of him. Them he made the sign of the cross, and the horse reared up suddenly, neighing wildly, and shook him from its back; then it plunged into the river, screaming terribly, and was gone from sight; only it seemed that the water burnt after it (p. 250). This quote shows that the woman the gave Sir Percivale the dark horse put upon a curse the horse. The woman was a test to Sir Percivale so he shall not be tempted along his journey to the Holy Grail. The second example of the woman being tempting is: Sir, she mummered, noble Percivale, I am yours for ever and ever; of all men in the world I love only you. So kiss me now; pledge me in this bowl of wine, and swear that henceforth you will be mine alone, and do all things that I command you. Le Guin bases this story off of an idea posed by philosopher William James, which is how hideous would it be if people were willing to accept the torment of one person for the sake of a perfect society. Le Guin paints this reality in a Utilitarian city named Omelas in order to show the flaws within the Utilitarian belief system. In Omelas people are able to indulge themselves in their wildest fantasies without any negative effects. The people are portrayed as being happy, passionate, mature, and intelligent. Their happiness is based solely on a just discrimination of what is necessary (231). Le Guin states that in Omelas there are no clergy, but there can be religion. This leads to the people having no guilt because they are able to indulge in their fleshly desires without anyone to inform them that it is wrong. What Le Guin is portraying here is a nominal religion where one can claim to believe yet refuses to act out their faith. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 28. Why Do We Lose Australian Identity In the Digital Age, people worldwide are more connected and information is more accessible. This has allowed wider sharing of cultures, and even naissances of new ones. As a result, pre existing cultures are influenced by other cultures, and a cultural shift takes places. The way people use language makes a part of their culture, and hence a change in said culture will at least partially result in a linguistic change. Because of this, some argue Australian English is losing its unique characteristics, and hence Australian identity is gradually affected. On one hand, it is evident that globalisation has resulted in lessened use of stereotypically Australian utterances such as she ll be right , g day , and mate . However, a lessened use does not necessary mean characteristics are lost. While we may not employ the Australian English lexicon in conversation, such characteristics may be preserved by humorous or ironic usage. Although not everyone knows it, there is a huge tragedy that is, and has been, going on even at this exact moment. Despite how much these children went through in the wars, the question still remains: once the war is over, should they be granted amnesty, or be prosecuted? HIV/AIDS affects everyone in their community because the disease spreads fast in their case (the people in Africa). This is due to their sexual behavior. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION Firstly, a test to determine the concentration of serum albumin in both blood and urine samples were carried out. Table 1 demonstrates that Patient B discharged 43mg/mL of serum albumin which was within the normal literature reference range provided. Low serum albumin levels are usually associated with acute glomerulonephritis, the normal albumin levels for Patient B implies that acute glomerulonephritis could be eliminated from list of conditions provided. This implies that no anomalies were present thus signifying accurate results. An advantage of the test was that the blood samples used are one of the leading analysis preferences chosen to identify biomarkers, and easily obtainable from patients. However, as direct assay was unavailable, Bromocresol green solution was used which changed the electronic structure thus specific whilst binding to albumin.
