Health Risks And Exposure Of Toxic Chemicals
Health Risk and Exposure to Toxic Chemicals Many scientific researchers have said that our
environment has been filled with toxic chemicals, which us humans have had a part of. There are
many different issues that should concern us surrounding these toxic chemicals. The major
concern is that many of these toxic chemicals have been claimed to be causing damage to the
health of humans and even other life forms. Another concern is that most of the theses toxic
chemicals have just recently been produced; and by our environment changing everyday there is
no telling what effects these toxic chemicals may have in the long run on the public s health. Just
about all of these toxic chemicals exist in the way they do because of humans. As humans we
practice a lot of different activities that cause toxic chemicals to pollute our environment such as,
agriculture, industrial, and many domestic activities as well. Many of the toxic chemicals that we
produce and use don t get used in a effective way, which causes them to be wasted, left
abandoned, and disposed of. When toxic chemicals are not disposed of properly they effect the
environment and the public s health in a negative way. There are toxic chemicals surrounding all of
us, no matter what part of the world we are in. We can t see them but we breathe them in and even
eat them. The realization is that we have many of foreign materials traveling within our bodies,
which is most likely causing damage to our innards. Although these

Analysis of WedgewoodВґs The Thirty Years War Essay
Wedgwood, C.V. The Thirty Years War. London: Lowe Brydone Ltd, 1938. Print. It is difficult to
determine when the Thirty Years War really began. Ultimately, a culmination of events led to the
tension between the countries of the Ottoman Empire. Prior to the war s beginning on May 23,
1618, Europe was in a state of religious, political, and imperial turmoil. The Lutherans, Catholics,
and Calvinists were all competing for religious dominance. Political leaders tried to advocate for
their religions in the elections. There was much controversy regarding the new kings of Bohemia
and political stress between the Bourbons and the Hapsburgs. War was... Show more content on

Although Wedgwood mentions the incident, she doesn t emphasize it being a huge turning point
with regard to the conflicts in Germany. The extraordinary chance which had saved three lives
was a holy miracle or a comic accident according to the religion of the beholder, but it had no
political significance (Wedgwood p. 79). The Denfenstration of Prague is the initial event that
instigated the tension because it was a rebellion. People became angry and fought for what they
thought was right. Frederick and Ferdinand began to raise their own armies by asking for help
from other European countries. Ferdinand received assistance from Maximilian of Bavaria. In
Western Civilizaton, it also mentions him getting help from Spain. He ensured this help by
promising Frederick s lands to them. Wedgwood explains that this could be considered
unconstitutional according to the Peace of Augsburg. Ferdinand signed this document declaring
that German liberties would be observed in 1555. This means that each country can have its own
religion if it s Catholic or Lutheran and that they are the Electors for the empire. If the German
princes do not consent to the impeachment of Frederick as Bohemian king, then giving the land
away is stealing. Frederick asked England for support, especially since he was married to the
English King s daughter Elizabeth. Unfortunately, the king had declined any

An Active Listener Is A Key Tool For Management And...
I.Introduction
The key to knowing what is on a person mind are the conversations. I have always heard be an
active listen. An active listener is a person who response to what is being said and not a
premeditated response. A person will say do you hear me but the question is, Are you listening?
The art of conversation is a key tool for management and upcoming leaders. In the book are
sample script on what to say and how to say it. Conversation can make or break the teams moral
or catapult your team to next level. It is so easy to focus on the past and the results of the past. The
hardness job is changing the conversation from the past to spend majority of your conversion about
the present and the future. Past results are the rubrics used to make decisions; the present and future
has no manifested measurable results to make a conclusion. There are a few chapters will be
discussed: tapping your most precious asset, making things happen, changing organizational
culture, changing your image and conversation as a way of life.
II.Tapping your most precious asset
Your greatest asset as a leader is conversation. Conversation is two fold you can use it to receive
information or you can use to give information. When giving information it may be used to help
individuals support your vision. Receiving information can used to assist with gaining information
to benefit your mission.
Conversation includes speaking, listening, writing, reading, verbal and nonverbal behavior,

Charlottesville Protests Argument Analysis
Since the beginning of the Internet s birth as ARPANET in 1969, communication has improved
massively. As with all great wonders there comes a cost the Internet is slowly becoming much
more regulated and observed. With the Internet, the government, whether it be local or national, is
slowly progressing towards an Orwellian future. It is extremely difficult to situate borders for
privacy, and that brings multiple questions to the table. Is it moral to allow people like white
supremacists an unchecked platform to offer their ideas? Is it okay for the government to censor
content it deems immoral? Will observing and profiling people actually help counter any threat of
terrorism? In order for such significant issues to be dealt with, we the people must learn to adapt....

Within a few weeks after these events, multiple Silicon Valley companies had employed different
methods to remove any mention of the neo Nazi publication The Daily Stormer. Consequently,
Google had chosen to remove any links to the site and GoDaddy revoked the website domain
name. Richard Spencer, a famous white supremacist, believes only the hands of the government
can actually intervene with an issue of this scale. Jillian York, director for International Freedom of
Expression at the Electronic Frontier Foundation feels that the morality of preventing certain
people from having a platform should not be discussed at the moment, and on the contrary, there
should be a conversation on who gets to decide that. Silicon Valley companies must be the party to
provide a neutral ground for people across the belief spectrum. Networks should enforce rules and
regulations strong enough to allow free speech for people with clashing viewpoints to debate

Elaborating Skills In Social Work
I think that it is very important for a social worker to tune into their own experience. For the
simple fact that as social workers we are taught to connect with the client on their level. In order
for a social worker to connect on the clients level that have to be able to have a genuine
understanding of the client and the only way to do that it so b able to relate to the client through
the social workers experiences. I think that the elaborating skills are very important in a
therapeutic session. The client has never seen the social worker before, generally the client meets
the dressed up social worker and walks to their office to see a bunch of degrees on the wall and
then the social worker begins their session. Clients can be intimidated

An Interview On Social Work
As social workers we are required to know the Council on Social Work Education s core
competencies and practice behaviors. We are advised to not discriminate against religion, races,
sexual orientation and gender. Before the course diversity I never had to think about my own race
for example white privilege. Within this class I put aside every bias I had so that could grasp the
concepts without my negative input. Throughout this course my knowledge about the different
minorities has transformed how I perceive raceand ethnicity.
Conducting an interview was a great way for me to assess the individual to ask relevant and
effective questions to understand her life and the hardships she may have encountered. After this
experience I self reflected on my life and started to compare the difference in our experiences
throughout our lives. Before I conducted this interview I expected that every person in the
minority group has experienced extreme levels of oppression. I came to understand that people
have different experiences so there are different levels to oppression. My interviewee is not a
citizen of the U.S and has been one of the hardest barriers for her. This restricts her from being
respected by the people in our community and obtaining a government job. Although she has this
restriction every other aspect in her life has been a normal childhood. Normal meaning, children

The Hardest Pieces Of Meat
One of the hardest pieces of meat to cook is the Tri tip steak roast, because most are three pounds
and many tend to burn the outside of the meat while the middle is stone cold raw. I like my meat
cooked to a nice medium temperature, I feel the best way to cook a Tri tip steak is on an outdoor
briquette barbeque, anything other than this is just not doing this piece of meatany justice.
Let s start with the grocery store, to have the best meat that will melt in your mouth, always start
with a nice piece of raw beef. Meat is graded on a scale according to marbling effects. Nice
Restaurants only used USDA Prime. You and I can t buy Prime meat in the grocery store. The
USDA grades meat, and Prime is young, well fed cattle and has an abundant marbling. Most
grocery stores can carry USDA Choice meat, and this is my recommendation of what to buy; it is
less marbling but is still very tender and juicy. You have to be careful, some stores don t carry this
and try to sell the lowest grade which is USDA Select. Select is fairly less tender, less marbling ,
less on flavor and juiciness. Stay away from USDA Select. Vons carries a nice USDA Choice meat,
so I recommend it.
Seasoning the meat is a crucial element of this process. I like to bring my roast out of the
refrigerator and season it, letting it sit on the counter so it comes to room temperature, while my
briquettes are getting ready on the barbeque. Allowing the meat come fully up to temperature will
help the meat

The Electoral College Voting System
In the heavily political world we live in today, there are both upsides and downsides to our
current system. And with every aspect of our system, politicians can come up with loopholes to
benefit themselves. We are provided free healthcare, but you must fit certain circumstances in
order to receive it. We have the right to a fair trial, but a fair trial can quickly become a matter of
race, religion, or beliefs. In the same way, our democracyand how we elect our president must be
dealt with a tablespoon of salt.
The Electoral College is our voting system based off of 538 votes dispersed over the span of all
50 states. It is based off of population rather than size; a state with a massive population like New
York gets twenty nine votes while a more scarce state like Montana only gets three votes. If a
majority of the previously elected voters vote for a particular candidate, then all of the votes for
that state is delegated to said candidate.
This has benefitted the United States for decades. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gerrymandering, a tactic used by the federal government, separates people of an opposing party
using county lines just enough so that their favored party gets the majority of the votes. By this
logic, the outcomes of the presidential election has already been decided before candidates begin
the campaign trail. Gerrymandering is the reason we can assume which states are swinging
Republican or Democratic. The votes that don t coincide with the state s previously chosen
candidate are completely forgotten, and can only be valid in the popular vote race. While trying to
come up with a plan to participate everyone, the government has therefore silenced other voters.
Voters who care about their country. Voters who believe in change. Voters who don t want to be
punished for an amendment they weren t even alive to see it take

Homework Essay
Definition of homework: Tasks assigned to students by school teachers that are intended to be
carried out during non school hours. Why do we have homework? What are the benefits of
homework? Is there such thing as too much homework? Homework helps you to gain, and retain
more knowledge than would be possible with only classroom work, this is a huge reason students
get homework. Homework does actually have benefits, it teaches a host of important life skills,
from responsibility and time management in prioritizing and organizing. But, how much is too
much homework? That depends on multiple complex or elaborate factors, including the singular

That depends on multiple complex or elaborate factors, including the singular intelligence or
capability of the child, type of classes, and available time. I m afraid some people after a certain
amount of time doing homework, they begin to shut down. However, there have been studies that
show how outside of school learning improves in class learning, and I agree with that. Without
homework, I d forget part of what we learned the previous day the minute my head hit the pillow.
But, if you must skip a simple 90 minutes of soccer practice because homework is taking two
hours longer than you thought, there s a problem. If you do have a lot of homework at a time, it
helps to be organized. Prioritizing can help you to complete your homework assignments with
minimal stress. A poll conducted for the Associated Press earlier this year found that about 57
percent of parents felt their child was assigned about the right amount of homework. Another 23
percent thought it was too little, 19 percent thought it was too much. K 2 works on homework for
about 10 20 minutes a night. 3 6 graders have about 30 60 minutes a night usually. When you get
into junior high you ll have about 90 minutes. Students who are in college have around 90 150
minutes a night! Do you now understand why we students have homework? What are the benefits

Why I Am A Scientist
Live the life you ve imagined , wrote on cover page of my notebook gave by my mentor Dr. Xu.
When I was six, I witnessed my aunt suffering from serious rheumatoid arthritis and nobody even
know why it happened. I imagined one day I can be a scientist to find out the causes for all those
brutal diseases and fight against them. This compass navigates my career path and leads me to
where I am right now, a biology student in University of Kansas. My professional journey
started at 2007, my freshman year in Wuhan University, a top ranked biology program in China.
I and my teammates were catching turbellarian all over the campus trying to find out the secrets
of tissue regeneration. After that, I initiated a project to isolate bacteria strains from soil to
reduce phosphorus in water and prohibit blue algae caused by pesticide in river and lake, which
got me funded by WU undergraduate research fund in 2008. These small adventures helped me
to explore my capabilities and build confidence about doing research. However I also realized
that to make a difference in human health, passion is one hand, knowledge is the other. To better
prepare myself for a future in biology scientific research, I joined Dr. Guo s lab in WU which
focused on human skeletal development in 2009 and quickly found the question that I care about
and willing to answer: how cancerhappened? Specifically, I was interested in studying gene post
transcriptional regulation networks in cancer. I chose to study

The market for farm produce is volatile, reflecting changes in climate as well as market trends.
As such it is often difficult to predict harvest yields. Overproduction in 2000 resulted in the price
of raw cranberries falling from over $60 a barrel to under $20. Atlantic Quench responded to the
volatile market by reducing its advertising and marketing budget. In addition to cutting back on
expenditure, the co operative paid the farmers $12 a barrel instead of the $18 a barrell market
price. As a result the relationship between the management of the co operative and the farmers
deteriorated, and the farmers exercised their power as shareholders of the co operative by voting
out four successive Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) between 2000 and 2003.
When Chuck Berrie was appointed CEO in 2003, his immediate priority was to discuss with the
farmers whether or not a co operative approach to managing the business was still an appropriate
and preferred option. The CEO had previously spent six years working for another co operative as
Chief Marketing Officer at Welch Foods Inc. During those six years he had contributed to doubling
the market share of the organisation. According to Berrie, The beauty of being a co op is not being
judged by quarterly results, but by generations passing on to the next generation. Indeed, many
Atlantic Quench farmers are third and fourth generation owners and one is seventh generation.

Economic Sustainability And Economic Development
Sustainable.
Often heard used as a marketing buzzword to boost sales or win votes, it is firmly ingrained in the
contemporary public psyche. A term first largely introduced by the 1987 Brundtland Report (by The
World Commission on Environment and Development) who defined and politicized the term
sustainable development , sustainability has since taken on numerous connotations.
Ecological sustainability refers to the robustness of our ecosystems and the ability to maintain or
enhance our planet s unique biodiversity.
Economic sustainability is defined by Cato as continued economic development while not
degrading our planet s ecology (Cato, 2011), however not all definitions accord such a large role to
the ecological state of our planet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where environmental problems are concerned, the neoclassical approach does not account for the
market failure that occurs when all individuals are making decisions to achieve their personal
greatest happiness . While theoretically this leads to a balanced optimum market; exclusivity, non
excludability, externalities, imperfect information, inappropriate government regulations and
prisoners dilemma all prevent the macro economic market from reaching a true pareto optimum
(Goodland et. al, 1987) as predicted by the paradigm.
In environmental terms, market failure results in an array of impacts of varying significance that
are often amplified by the globalized macro economy and our planet s vast social inequity.
For example, an externality such as air pollution may not directly affect the consumer, but can have
adverse impacts on the local environment where the product was produced. This impact is often not
reflected in the market value of the product, altering marginal cost curve and undermining the
possibility of reaching an optimal market. In addition, the impacts of market failure often
disproportionately affect the poorest communities and amplify social inequity.
The neoclassical paradigm is thus fundamentally

Is Mineral Evolution A Frame For Understanding Minerals...
Introduction:
This framework of mineral evolution has been presented by Robert M. Hazen. As from the
heading, you can imagine it s something related to minerals and their origin. As we all know,
Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago. There were no minerals, in fact, even no kind of solids
were there. Years passed by, new mineral generating processes came into play which resulted into
development of Earth s diverse mineralogy. Earth today, in contrast, have nearly more than 4,400
mineral species. Still, there are more to be discovered. Still, there are many question in our mind,
how did these all things happened? What caused Earth s diversification? To answer all these
questions, Robert M. Hazen presented this new framework. According to Hazen, Nonliving world
is a stage on which life plays out its evolutionary drama . This research was necessary to
understand Earth s history as a frame for understanding minerals and all the stages and process that
created them.
Methods:
According to Hazen, Over the past four and a half billion years Earth has passed through series
of stages in which more and more minerals developed. Here, Evolution of Earth and its minerals
has been analyzed, which are divided into stages Making of Earth, Black Earth, Red Earth, White
Earth, Green Earth. Let s start with Making of Earth This happened around 4.5 billions years ago,
when number of planetesimals (dust, rock materials, gas in solar system) collided to form Earth.

Analysis Of The Poem The Anglo Saxons
The Anglo Saxons believed that when a man was injured or killed wrongfully, he should be
avenged by his kinsmen. One form of atonement for a wrongful death was the wer gild, which
means man gold where the family of the deceased was paid a sum to compensate them. Given
that the Anglo Saxons believed heavily in honor and leaving a legacy, since they had no
afterlife, not paying the wer gild was an extremely disrespectful action. This is displayed in
Beowolf narrated as ...long against Hrothgar / Grendel struggled: his grudges he cherished,
/ murderous malice, many a winter, / strife unremitting, and peacefully wished he / life woe to
lift from no liegeman at all of the men of / the Dane folk, for money to settle, / no counsellor
needed count for a moment / on handsome amends at the hands of the murderer; (Beowolf),
meaning that Grendel was brutally murdering Hrothgar s men for many winters and would give
no money to settle the wer gild, bringing dishonor to the lord s name. 3. Green Belt/ Girdle As he
tries to be a good, chivalrous knight, Sir Gawain must flatter the lord s wife while not insulting
her or breaking his vows or promises to the lord. So when the lord s wife appears in his room and
gets in his bed in attempt to sleep with him, he has to flatter her and declare his undying love for
her without sinning and actually having sex with her. After he successfully avoids her temptation,

Solipsism In The Fight Club
From the beginning of the Fight Club, Tyler s apparent purpose, in the forming of Fight Club
and Project Mayhem, was to bring the narrator to rock bottom in order to take him out of the
unsatisfying everydayness of his life. The narrator develops a form of solipsistic therapy that
allows his own mind to find a way to heal himself. In this way, he learns that in order to start over
in life he needs let go of all his physical possessions and begin again with nothing. Once he hits
rock bottom, there would be nowhere left to go but up. In addition, he initiates Project Mayhem
in an attempt to create as much chaos as possible in order to spread his therapy further. This type
of therapeutic strategy is similar to the methodology of crossfit training, which focus on specific
areas of weakness in training. This therapy employs a form of personal solipsism in order to
confront the narrator s issues, because Tyler knew that only he was able to control and
understand his own conscience. The first step towards Tyler s downward spiral in his life, which
also led him to start joining therapy groups, was when the narrator was denied any medication for
his insomnia by a doctor. After the doctor refused to acknowledge his suffering, Tyler realized that
he would find no solace in asking for help, and he reacted to this by relying on personal solipsism
to help himself. The form of therapy that he develops, which would initially establish the first Fight
Club, was based around the theory that

Causes Of Illegal Immigration From El Salvador
Illegal immigration is a big problem in America, and it is very hard to solve. These immigrants
are coming into America for many different reasons. The main immigrants into America are from
Mexico, but many do come from El Salvador too. Some immigrants like economic migrants,
come to America because of job availability and more money. For example, in Mexico poverty
and unemployment is a major problem, and by 2012 55.3 million out of 120 million were poor.
The majority of the Mexican population are farmers, and they live in rural areas with very
extreme temperatures and the poor quality land makes it hard to actually farm. This culture
causses struggle for these Mexican families. Due to these high unemployment and poverty rates
they migrate to America in order to support their family and further retain a reasonable standard
of living. Another reason Mexicans will come into America is because they are fleeing violence.
In Mexico, there is very high crime rates, and homicide rates are around 10 14 per 100,000
people. With drugs, in the past 5 years, more than 47, 500 have been killed. Therefore, a reason
some Mexicans will come to America is because of the lower crime rates, and having a more
reliable and stable home to live. Additionally, we see this reason of migration from immigrants
from El Salvador. In El Salvador, there are many crimes and violence gangs. It is the murder
capital in the world, with nearly one homicide per hour in the first three months of 2016. Its

Using Resistant Soybean Cultivar And Crop Rotation
Soybean cyst management tactics include different method from place to place, but all have the
common method of using resistant soybean cultivar and crop rotation and these are found to be
more effective than others.(Niblack et al., 2003, Schmitt et al., 2004). Lotus japonicus is one of
the important model leguminous plant to study the interaction and compatibility of plant
parasitic nematode to cause infection (Lohar Bird, 2003). There are large number of resistant
soybean cultivar to SCN and most of the resistance is derived from the PI88788 and other
PI548402 and PI437654 and grower are also encouraged to do crop rotation along with the use of
these cultivar because of continues planting of the same variety supports the pathogen to changing
the race for overcoming the resistance (Niblack, 2005, Tylka Mullaney, 2002). Only occasional
planting of SCN resistant without any rotation allow to reproduce aggressively in resistant line
because of selection pressure allowing changing the race to overcome resistance (Young, 1998,
Young Hartwig, 1988, Young, 1984) Annual ryegrass, Lolium multiflorum residue is found to be
effective to reduce the H. glycines population by increasing the hatching of eggs of nematode in
the absence of host and depletion of lipid reserved in juvenile and decreases the parasitism of the
pathogen. (Riga et al., 2001, Mock et al., 2009) Rotation between resistant soybean and corn

Aristophanes Views On Love And Stereotypes
One of the most interesting topics to discuss in our society is love. As a people we have always
enjoyed debating and arguing about it s ideals and significance. In fact, our infatuation with love
has been ongoing for centuries. For example, some of the oldest and most stimulating admirers
of the concept are thought to have been the Ancient Greeks. The Greeks were captivated not only
by the idea of love, but by the Greek God, whose namesake the concept took after: Eros. They
loved Eros and he was often described as a wonderful deity; a lover of beauty and everything good.
However, there were some who questioned the true meaning behind the god and the concept; one of
it s most famous contemplators being the philosopher Plato. Plato disagreed... Show more content

but in the end, I though both held substance. They both added to the mystery of what love really is.
And each one had it s strengths and weakness. They were complete opposites yet, they in sense held
truth. Love can both or neither. Love in the end depends on human

Essay on The Danger of Subliminal Advertising
In modern society, advertisements and the media bombard Americans every single day. Television
advertisements, movies, radio, and even Spam mail have become a daily part of the lives of many

employ with the media in order to obtain a profit. The use of subliminal and negative advertising

Analysis Of The Fox s Hollow
In the Fox s Hollow
Foxes are known for their cleverness and their ability to overcome obstacles in creative ways.
Quick, agile, and focused, outsmarting others comes easily to them. The similarities between
these intelligent creatures and Mrs. Amy Fox goes far deeper than their name. Amy Fox is an
English instructor, her class is not one to scoff at and anyone looking for and easy A, should
look the other directions. For, any grammatical error, any inconsistencies in an argument, Fox
will weed them out. With sharp eyes and numerous college degrees at her back, nothing gets past
her. To pass her class one must also become a fox; clever enough to overcome large workloads
without becoming overwhelmed, quick enough to spot errors in their own papers before turning
them in, and focused enough to maintain presence in the classroom despite other things that
maybe going on. No, Fox s class is not easy, it forces students to overcome bad habits, but also
provides the correct tools to do so, if the student is willing to do the work. Mrs. Fox s English 101
class is challenging because it calls for time managements skills, demands attention to details, and
requires flexibility.
Mrs. Fox s class calls for time management, especially outside of the classroom. Most of the work

Sweatshops Should Be Outlawed
Sweatshops should be outlawed. Some of the reason that sweatshops should be outlawed are
employment of minors, who required to work long hours, and they are paid low wages. Powell
provides an economic explanation for the presence of sweatshops in the world. The minors work
in deplorable working condition that cause poor health conditions. They perpetuate the violation
of basic human rights as people are exploited for their labor. Today s sweatshops violate our
notions of justice, yet they continue to flourish. This is so because we have not settled on criteria
that would allow us to condemn and do away with them and because the poor working conditions
in certain places are preferable to the alternative of no job at all. Sweatshops also persist... Show

At the level of the individual worker, sweatshops can be regarded as a blessing of sort, for they
might be the only way for illiterate people lacking marketable skills to enter the global industrial
marketplace. In many less developed countries with large populations, agriculture is the only
economic activity available to people. Sweatshops provide poor people in developing countries with
better outcomes than the alternative of criminal activity (child and adult prostitution). Employable
for only part of the year, outside of the planting and harvesting seasons, there is little for them to
do and they stream into cities looking for work. Sweatshops exist because of a prevailing
mindset that maintains a clear distinction between business and ethics. My perspective is minors
shouldn t have to work at sweatshops, they should be able to work in a clean and safe
environment. During school days no more than four or five hours a day with a legitimate pay
wage. In conclusion, Sweatshops should be outlawed. U.S. have the rights not to face competition
from poor third competition from poor third world workers, and by outlawing competition from
third world we can enhance union wages at the expense of poorer people who work in sweatshops.

Difference Between Good And Evil In The Lion King
Good and Evil are two things that we all have to face each day. We all see things that one may
consider good and other evil. Good and evil can be seen as many things. For example, we have
selfishness and kindness. Those are two meanings of the word evil and good. It is all about
morals, having different morals, as in life, paths the way to what road you will travel down, good
or evil. The movie The Lion Kingshowed us many examples of good and evil. Scar is obviously a
choice when it comes to who was evil. You have your considered good characters in the film. You
also had characters who looked at Scar as good, the hyenas. The movie shows how different
individuals have different morals when it comes to good and evil.
The difference between good and evil varies from people. To some you might have to do big
great things in order to be good as a person. For some people you do not have to do anything at
all and still considered good. It is all about morals, which everyone grows up with different
morals. Evil might be looked at as someone that hurts people every day just because they know
they can. His or her sole purpose is to make sure that everyone feels down when around them.
Fascinatingly people can also be evil by sitting back and doing nothing. For example, if someone
is in a fight with more than one person, and losing, some people will do nothing. This brings me
back to morals. One may think that just by sitting and doing nothing, you are a good person
because you

In the case of retailers they are on premise (restaurants, hotels, pubs, etc.) and off premise
(supermarkets, wholesale price clubs, mass merchandisers and liquor stores). This three tier model
was mandatory in USA to avoid organized crime, and is not longer mandatory in several estates, as
well as many countries, but this structure tends to exist.
Wholesaler distributors. The current trend is the concentration in both wholesalers and retailers. In
the case of USA, today the top 5 distributors control 33% of the market, and the top 10 control
45%. This high concentration supposes higher buyer power, as they buy larger volumes. In this
scenario some producers have their own distributors, like Gallo. In other markets, this is also a
trend, as Europe, where large firms, particularly the leading breweries, dominate the alcoholic
beverage distribution. In this sense, the buyer power is high.
Retailers. The current trend, further than the wine market, is clearly the concentration of the off
premises retailers. The well known Wal Mart and others became very large retailers, concentrating
as well high bargaining leverage. For example, Costco is currently the largest wine retailer in the
U.S.
The same concentration is happening in the on premises buyers, where many large hotels and
restaurants chains are purchasing wine centrally rather at locally, increasing their buyer power.
Thus, the retailers buying force is also

Considerations of Food Safety
Food safety is one of the primary concerns in our industry, especially to those who process food
in large amounts. Therefore, proper sanitation must be provided in order to destroy
microorganisms that could possibly spoil and contaminate food products. Sanitizers are
substances used to reduce and inhibit most microorganisms present in surfaces of equipment and
utensils. They are usually in the form of liquid mixture applied directly on the surface of
equipment or any material that may come in contact with the food (Parker, 2007). In 2007,
Harrison and Davidson revealed that the most common sanitizers used in foods are hypochlorites,
chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics. However, in 2009, Schmidt discovered that use of
these chemicals could cause corrosion, discoloration of products, and distortion of flavor and odor
(see Appendix). Also, carelessly handling of these chemicals could also risk the personnel
performing sanitation. Because of the hazardous effects of these chemicals (hypochlorites,
chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics) in food industry, there is a necessity to find
alternative methods to further reduce microorganisms. At the same time, it should also have less
effect to the quality of the food being tested. Bacteriocin, a substance produced by microorganisms,
plays a defensive role in prohibiting invasion of strains or species. Thus, it could serve the purpose
of a being a sanitizer since it has high anti microbial activity. This substance,

Christopher Columbus s Voyage Preparations And His...
Christopher Columbus lived during the early modern period, more precisely the Renaissance
(Boucher). At the time, the pre modern worldview that once dominated Europe since antiquity
(existence to 476 C.E) began to vanish due to new intellectual way of thinking, which ultimately
mature in the modern way of thinking (Boucher). While Columbus contributed to this
momentous shift, there is evidence that one might argue that between Columbus voyage
preparations and his religious beliefs, the iconic Genoese explorer harbored many pre modern
convictions. The chronology of Europeans exploration dates way back before Columbus and
the Age of Exploration in the 15th century. In actuality, the Age of Exploration started with the
iconic Venetian explorer Marco Polo and his own exploration in the East. Evidence indicates
that in the late Middle Ages, the Venetian explorer Marco Polo voyaged to Asia (1271 1290) in
hopes of discovering a route into Asia s silk and spice trade. During that era, the spice and silk
trade was the world s biggest industry: it established and destroyed empires, led to the discovery of
new continents, and in many ways helped lay the foundation of obsession for exploration in the
15th century. Between the 12th and the 14th century, the demand for spices grew drastically,
resulting in numerous efforts for European explorers to find possible routes into the profitable
business that the Silk and Spice trade offered. There were many forces that drove this

The Fall Of Icarus Poem Analysis
If I Knew What I Knew Then is an oil painting created by Maggie Newman in 1997. It has the
beautiful qualities of an impressionistic painting, and gives the audience a Dionysus style
experience. Meanwhile, The Fall of Icarus is an aesthetic, bronze sculpture with Greek
mythological background, and Hellenistic characteristics. Both artists present their own unique
style of art, and raise multiple diverse questions from the audience in their work. The Fall of Icarus
by Abraham Rattner can be described as Hellenistic art because of its illustrations of agony, and the
death of Icarus, from Greek mythology. Icarus wings melted while flying in front of the sun, which
resulted in him plummeting to his death. The Fall of Icarus is an incredibly detailed, bronzestatue of
Icarus wings melting in flight. The bronze sun has golden rays illuminating from the sides, Icarus
is presented as a dark, burnt figure slowly melting against the burning sun. If I Knew What I Knew
Then by Maggie Newman can be depicted as a Impressionismbecause of its small, yet recognizable
brush strokes, and manipulation of light and colors. The painting is of a young women with a
look of concern, and looks as if she is staring at something behind the audience. Standing behind
her is an ominous shadow shadow composed of multiple colors. In front of her is an outline of a
women on her knees in agony, as if it is the women s inner feelings. The Fall of Icarus was
created in 1950, and is based on the story of Icarus in Greek Mythology. According to the stories,
Icarus and his father were trapped in the massive labyrinth. In order to escape, Icarus and his father
created wings of feathers and wax, and strapped them to
Icarus. Foolishly, Icarus flew too closely to the sun and his wings melted, causing him to
plummet to his death. In the early 2000 s, the sculpture was treated with bronzed disease.
Bronzed disease is when the sculpture begins to deteriorate and a white powder forms. The
sculpture was successfully restored and is on display in the Leepa Rattner Museum. If I Knew
What I Knew Then creates a Dionysus feeling in the viewer as they attempt to decipher the hidden
meaning. Some people could could view the shadow in If I Knew What I Knew

Senior Dance Concert Review
The Senior Dance concert, 9 o clock showing consisted of seven dance pieces. The first piece
was called Heavy Dew , this piece was comprised of a six person group dance. The backdrop was
a blue shading. The sounds in this piece were waterfalls, and rainforest sounds. The movements
made me feel as though the dancers were creatures in a wilderness or a rainforest, it was fast
paced. For the first part of the performance the group of girls are dancing in front of the audience
together, then as the musicturns to be more serious and intense, there is just one dancer on the
stage. Then, once all the dancers come back onto the stage, the music starts to soften and slow
down again and the lights begin to dim for the remainder of the performance. The second
performance was a solo act given the title of Love You, Possess Me. The title says it all. This was
a very dark piece. The dancer was wearing an all black lace dress. She gave off an impression of
being a black widow. The movements were mostly on the floor. The music was dim, and made
me feel as though I was in a thriller film. The look on the performer s face made me feel as
though she was distant from everyone else, tragic, and apprehensive. I enjoyed this piece the most
out of all of them. The third piece was titled Unclothing The Elephant. It consisted of seven
performers. The music being played appeared to be a violin. All of the performers were dressed in

Taming Of The Shrew Petruchio Quotes
Petru shrew o As time goes on, definitions of words change. In the Elizabethan era, the word
shrew has been used to define ill tempered and sharp tongued women. Yet in present day,
associating a specific gender with a word is not as important as it was in the past. The noun shrew
could be used to define any human, despite their gender. In Taming of the Shrew, Katherina
Minola is supposedly the shrew which the title of the play has labelled. However, when Petruchio
is introduced to the play, it is easily apparent that he is a significantly more accurate depiction of a
shrew. Petruchio, from Taming of the Shrew, accurately portrays a shrew because of his unpleasant
characteristics and the cruel way he treats Katherina. Petruchio is an arrogant, bad tempered and
sharp tongued man. When the other men warn him about Katherina s personality, he is baffled at
their doubt that he could not handle her. He is overly confident and believes that he can manage
anything, just like how a typical shrew would act. Later on, Petruchio s poor characteristics are

Through the Diversity Visa Lottery Program, immigrant visas are made available annually to
people whose country of origin has low immigration rates to the United States. Each year, the
State Department selects 110,000 applicants from all qualified entries. However, once 50,000

Many people think they can show up at a U.S. embassy or border post, describe why they d make

how the U.S. immigration system works.
Instead, people who want to come to the U.S., whether temporarily or permanently, must determine
whether they fit into eligibility categories for either permanent residence (a green card) or for a

They could also offer package deals to families that would include tickets and a preset concession

Another opportunity for theatre owners is to look at alternative uses for their facilities. The
overhead costs of the facility are fixed but could be offset by renting spaces during off peak
hours for events such as business conferences or school events. They could also use their screens
to show things other than major motion picture releases. With digital equipment I m sure there
would be a way to contract with major networks and cable providers to show popular television
series finales. The audiences of these series are hardcore fans. They could market the allure of a
big screen and the opportunity to experience the show with other fans. For example the audience
for shows like The Walking Dead, Homeland, and many other popular shows is a huge market.
Often these shows air on nights that theatres have low attendance. They could market it with
discounts offered for customers who come in costume.
Another product modification could be the ticket pricing set up. Perhaps they could lower the price

Hamlet And Revenge In Hamlet
Hamlet has lived through plenty of ups and downs throughout his childhood. He has been lost and
confused within himself, but knew he wanted one thing, which was revenge on his fathers killer,
Claudius. His passion of hate developed for Claudius as he married Hamlets mother shortly after
the king s death. Hamletcould not decide on the perfect decision for himself, his motherand father as
well as the best way to follow through with the best consequence for Claudius that would
impress his father. His everyday life, along with his love life, left him with an empty heart,
which slowed the process of the revenge down. Hamlet never expected to be captured and

and overwhelming Him, leaving him depressed and anxious. Hamlet s life has been leading him to
negative thoughts that he cannot process or act accordingly to, due to the excessive amount of
issues and options involved in his life at a young age, him being overwhelmed lead him to delaying

to take advantage of him and had plenty of hate towards him for more than one reason. The action

an eighteen year old. The main question is at what age can someone be mature enough to make
decisions about their own life? Per Stefan Kiesbye, he has found a solution that would make
teenagers mature enough to drink. Parks, a college administrator, suggest that underage people
require a learner s permit ( Introduction... ). This permit would teach kids how to drink responsibly.
Most teenagers that drink have received no education about alcohol abuse and are usually sneaking
behind their parents backs. ( introduction... ). He says when people turn twenty one, they do not all
the sudden become magically mature or wise about things ( Introduction... ). President John
Mcardell, also agrees that there should be a learner s permit. He has a bit of a twist on it though,
he says that people should get them if they have not been found guilty of alcohol problems in the
past (Hanson). The problem with this permit is that people would still abuse drinking, but it might
help some teenagers and maybe even

U.S Foreign Aid to Africa
U.S Foreign Aid to Africa Some people speak against U.S foreign aid being sent to Africa for
humanitarian reasons. Others speak out in favor of such actions. All of us have seen the news
tickers with vital headlines about people being devastated by droughts in Zimbabwe and
unhygienic water in Sudan , but what is their government doing about it. Personally, I ve asked
myself several founded inquiries about where is this foreign aid going to and what are some of
the achievements being made. I ve acquired over time well built knowledge in relation to the
United Nations and the work they perform globally to promote stability and development. I will be
bringing in several valid arguments to get to the bottom of this controversial subject of... Show

Almost everything went wrong, but AID kept financing the program long after its failure was
evident. AID paid for the building of eighteen warehouses, but five were not built, three were not
finished, three collapsed, two had their roofs blown off, and three more quickly crumbled owing
to serious structural deficiencies. Fifty four open wells with contaminated water were to be
sanitized, but only nine were actually improved. A hundred mills for grinding grain were to be
constructed; the project managers built and tested one mill, then gave up. The road improvement
project repaired less than one quarter of the roads scheduled for upgrading. Isn t that marvelous?
The prospect outlook for U.S foreign Aid abroad according to 2010 Budget for the U.S Government
is as follow, there will be a 10 percent increase on U.S Foreign Aid and the State Department Budget
will get a hefty 51.75 billion dollars in the fiscal year 2010. What the U.S State Department Budget
goals are, an estimated $8 billion increase in the annual outlay to the International Monetary Fund,
full funding for scheduled payments to the World Bank, plus a portion of the outstanding arrears to
reinforce the U.S. commitment to play a leadership in these institutions. , Increases non military aid
to Afghanistan and Pakistan, to counter the resurgence of the Taliban, Increased funding, at an
unspecified amount, for global health programs, including AIDS

Types Of Deep Brain Stimulation Essay
This paper was a ground breaking entry into the combined usage of deep brain stimulation (DBS)
and optogenetics. Studies involving DBS are usually met with potential confounders as to the route
of therapeutic intervention. The authors mentioned three, the first being the difficulty in
determining specific circuits responsible due to the complexity of nervous tissue. Another being
that DBS makes use of high frequency stimulation (HFS) which itself produces a myriad of
changes in activity that can be hard to pin down in target cells. The final being that DBS creates
artefacts through electrical stimulation that clouds target cell responses in neural circuits1.
Parkinson s Disease (PD) is characterized by a loss of dopamine in the striatum that results in both
motor and affective pathologies. Specifically modulated are the direct and indirect pathways in the
basal ganglia. The indirect pathway is studied in this paper and comprises the global pallidus
interna and its afferent synapses on the subthalamic nucleus.2 To address this aspect of PD and the
aforementioned DBS issues the authors decided to make use of channel rhodopsins,
halorhodopsins, optrodes and optical stimulation. To induce the PD symptoms, rodents were
injected with 6 hydroxydopamine (6 OHDA) to induce hemi parkinsonian symptoms on the
contralateral side and in vivo delivery of ChR2 and NpHR was done via lentiviruses.
The first experiment focused on establishing the DBS technique and other methods for the

Jonah
Jonah is one of the most interesting stories in the Old Testament. In this paper, I will summarize
the story of Jonah, and determine if this story is literal or not. Towards the end of this paper, I will
give my final thoughts about Jonah. According to chapter one, the Lord spoke to Jonah and
instructed him to preach in the city of Nineveh. Jonahdid not want to go Nineveh so he decided
that he wanted to run away from God. While Jonah was on his way to Tarshish, God sent a great
wind on the sea and it threatened the safety of the passengers on the ship. Out of desperation, the
sailors on the ship cried out to their gods, and they threw the cargo off the ship in an effort to
stop the ship from sinking. During all of this distress, Jonah had gone below the deck, and he fell
asleep. When the captain discovered Jonah below the deck, he criticized Jonah for not calling on
his god. In Jonah s response, he stated that the Lord made the sea and the dry land. Jonah s
statement frightened the ship s crew, and they realized that God created the storm to punish Jonah
for disobeying him. The bible tells the readers that Jonah told the crew that... Show more content on

First of all, Jonah and the Giant Fish is one of the most unbelievable stories in the bible due to
the fact that it is impossible for a man to survive in the belly of fish. The bible is filled with
allegories and the story of Jonah is one of those allegories. Although the story of Jonah is
fictional, the meaning of the story is still relevant, even in this decade. Jonah was a very,
judgmental person, and he almost allowed his judgments to stop him from doing the will of the
Lord. There are a lot of people who act like Jonah and it s actually sad. Religion is supposed to be
a good thing, but some people use it to judge others. The story of Jonah teaches the readers that it is
important to humble yourself and help others, whether you agree with their lifestyle or

The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder illustrates a family dodging one catastrophe after
another. By the skin of their teeth, they will defeat ice, flood, and war. The main characters of
this play are George and Maggie Antrobus, their two children, Henry and Gladys, and Sabina,
who appears as the family s maid in the first and third acts, as well as a beauty queen seductress
in the second act. The Skin of Our Teeth takes place at the Antrobus home in Excelsior, New
Jersey; and the Atlantic City boardwalk. I selected this play mainly because I love the way
Thornton Wilder chose to break the fourth wall. The fourth wall is the space that separates a
performer or performance from an audience. The Skin of Our Teeth doesn t just break the... Show

Man made and natural disasters will always repeat themselves differently and the human race
has the power to take over it or be taken over by it. This play explores themes of drive and
flexibility, as well as the failings of our species. Another theme I believe is for this play is
Illusion vs. Reality. Trying to create a real world on the stage is what traditional realistic plays do.
They encourage the audience to forget that they are watching actors play roles in a fictional play.
Wilder continuously interrupts this sort of theatrical illusion to remind the audience that they are
watching a performance. The audience identifies with the characters through terror and pity. The
Skin of Our Teeth portrays an All American family who goes through hell and back. I believe
everyone can relate to the terror of going through hard times. They viewers pity the characters, not
because they ve been through a flood, or the ice ages but, because they see themselves. They see
themselves going through the struggles in their life and picture giving up. Watching the play just
shows them that they can get through it. At the end of the play the audience should walk away
with the awareness that they can always be affected by the possibility of disaster. However, they
can get through whatever comes their way. The viewers, in their everyday life, do not know when
or where a catastrophe will strike, but they have to continue with their lives. Watching or reading
this play notice the

  • 2. Health Risks And Exposure Of Toxic Chemicals Health Risk and Exposure to Toxic Chemicals Many scientific researchers have said that our environment has been filled with toxic chemicals, which us humans have had a part of. There are many different issues that should concern us surrounding these toxic chemicals. The major concern is that many of these toxic chemicals have been claimed to be causing damage to the health of humans and even other life forms. Another concern is that most of the theses toxic chemicals have just recently been produced; and by our environment changing everyday there is no telling what effects these toxic chemicals may have in the long run on the public s health. Just about all of these toxic chemicals exist in the way they do because of humans. As humans we practice a lot of different activities that cause toxic chemicals to pollute our environment such as, agriculture, industrial, and many domestic activities as well. Many of the toxic chemicals that we produce and use don t get used in a effective way, which causes them to be wasted, left abandoned, and disposed of. When toxic chemicals are not disposed of properly they effect the environment and the public s health in a negative way. There are toxic chemicals surrounding all of us, no matter what part of the world we are in. We can t see them but we breathe them in and even eat them. The realization is that we have many of foreign materials traveling within our bodies, which is most likely causing damage to our innards. Although these ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is difficult to determine when the Thirty Years War really began. Ultimately, a culmination of events led to the tension between the countries of the Ottoman Empire. Prior to the war s beginning on May 23, 1618, Europe was in a state of religious, political, and imperial turmoil. The Lutherans, Catholics, and Calvinists were all competing for religious dominance. Political leaders tried to advocate for their religions in the elections. There was much controversy regarding the new kings of Bohemia and political stress between the Bourbons and the Hapsburgs. The extraordinary chance which had saved three lives was a holy miracle or a comic accident according to the religion of the beholder, but it had no political significance (Wedgwood p. 79). The Denfenstration of Prague is the initial event that instigated the tension because it was a rebellion. People became angry and fought for what they thought was right. Frederick and Ferdinand began to raise their own armies by asking for help from other European countries. Ferdinand received assistance from Maximilian of Bavaria. In Western Civilizaton, it also mentions him getting help from Spain. He ensured this help by promising Frederick s lands to them. Wedgwood explains that this could be considered unconstitutional according to the Peace of Augsburg. Ferdinand signed this document declaring that German liberties would be observed in 1555. This means that each country can have its own religion if it s Catholic or Lutheran and that they are the Electors for the empire. If the German princes do not consent to the impeachment of Frederick as Bohemian king, then giving the land away is stealing. Frederick asked England for support, especially since he was married to the English King s daughter Elizabeth. Unfortunately, the king had declined any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As with all great wonders there comes a cost the Internet is slowly becoming much more regulated and observed. With the Internet, the government, whether it be local or national, is slowly progressing towards an Orwellian future. It is extremely difficult to situate borders for privacy, and that brings multiple questions to the table. Is it moral to allow people like white supremacists an unchecked platform to offer their ideas? Is it okay for the government to censor content it deems immoral? I like my meat cooked to a nice medium temperature, I feel the best way to cook a Tri tip steak is on an outdoor briquette barbeque, anything other than this is just not doing this piece of meatany justice. Let s start with the grocery store, to have the best meat that will melt in your mouth, always start with a nice piece of raw beef. Meat is graded on a scale according to marbling effects. Nice Restaurants only used USDA Prime. You and I can t buy Prime meat in the grocery store. The USDA grades meat, and Prime is young, well fed cattle and has an abundant marbling. Most grocery stores can carry USDA Choice meat, and this is my recommendation of what to buy; it is less marbling but is still very tender and juicy. You have to be careful, some stores don t carry this and try to sell the lowest grade which is USDA Select. Select is fairly less tender, less marbling , less on flavor and juiciness. Stay away from USDA Select. Vons carries a nice USDA Choice meat, so I recommend it. Seasoning the meat is a crucial element of this process. I like to bring my roast out of the refrigerator and season it, letting it sit on the counter so it comes to room temperature, while my briquettes are getting ready on the barbeque. Allowing the meat come fully up to temperature will help the meat ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Electoral College Voting System In the heavily political world we live in today, there are both upsides and downsides to our current system. And with every aspect of our system, politicians can come up with loopholes to benefit themselves. We are provided free healthcare, but you must fit certain circumstances in order to receive it. We have the right to a fair trial, but a fair trial can quickly become a matter of race, religion, or beliefs. In the same way, our democracyand how we elect our president must be dealt with a tablespoon of salt. The Electoral College is our voting system based off of 538 votes dispersed over the span of all 50 states. It is based off of population rather than size; a state with a massive population like New York gets twenty nine votes while a more scarce state like Montana only gets three votes. If a majority of the previously elected voters vote for a particular candidate, then all of the votes for that state is delegated to said candidate. What are the benefits of homework? Is there such thing as too much homework? Homework helps you to gain, and retain more knowledge than would be possible with only classroom work, this is a huge reason students get homework. I m afraid some people after a certain amount of time doing homework, they begin to shut down. However, there have been studies that show how outside of school learning improves in class learning, and I agree with that. Without homework, I d forget part of what we learned the previous day the minute my head hit the pillow. But, if you must skip a simple 90 minutes of soccer practice because homework is taking two hours longer than you thought, there s a problem. If you do have a lot of homework at a time, it helps to be organized. Prioritizing can help you to complete your homework assignments with minimal stress. A poll conducted for the Associated Press earlier this year found that about 57 percent of parents felt their child was assigned about the right amount of homework. Another 23 percent thought it was too little, 19 percent thought it was too much. K 2 works on homework for about 10 20 minutes a night. 3 6 graders have about 30 60 minutes a night usually. When I was six, I witnessed my aunt suffering from serious rheumatoid arthritis and nobody even know why it happened. I imagined one day I can be a scientist to find out the causes for all those brutal diseases and fight against them. This compass navigates my career path and leads me to where I am right now, a biology student in University of Kansas. My professional journey started at 2007, my freshman year in Wuhan University, a top ranked biology program in China. I and my teammates were catching turbellarian all over the campus trying to find out the secrets of tissue regeneration. After that, I initiated a project to isolate bacteria strains from soil to reduce phosphorus in water and prohibit blue algae caused by pesticide in river and lake, which got me funded by WU undergraduate research fund in 2008. These small adventures helped me to explore my capabilities and build confidence about doing research. However I also realized that to make a difference in human health, passion is one hand, knowledge is the other. To better prepare myself for a future in biology scientific research, I joined Dr. Guo s lab in WU which focused on human skeletal development in 2009 and quickly found the question that I care about and willing to answer: how cancerhappened? A term first largely introduced by the 1987 Brundtland Report (by The World Commission on Environment and Development) who defined and politicized the term sustainable development , sustainability has since taken on numerous connotations. Ecological sustainability refers to the robustness of our ecosystems and the ability to maintain or enhance our planet s unique biodiversity. Where environmental problems are concerned, the neoclassical approach does not account for the market failure that occurs when all individuals are making decisions to achieve their personal greatest happiness . While theoretically this leads to a balanced optimum market; exclusivity, non excludability, externalities, imperfect information, inappropriate government regulations and prisoners dilemma all prevent the macro economic market from reaching a true pareto optimum (Goodland et. al, 1987) as predicted by the paradigm. In environmental terms, market failure results in an array of impacts of varying significance that are often amplified by the globalized macro economy and our planet s vast social inequity. For example, an externality such as air pollution may not directly affect the consumer, but can have adverse impacts on the local environment where the product was produced. This impact is often not reflected in the market value of the product, altering marginal cost curve and undermining the possibility of reaching an optimal market. As from the heading, you can imagine it s something related to minerals and their origin. As we all know, Earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago. There were no minerals, in fact, even no kind of solids were there. Years passed by, new mineral generating processes came into play which resulted into development of Earth s diverse mineralogy. Earth today, in contrast, have nearly more than 4,400 mineral species. Still, there are more to be discovered. Still, there are many question in our mind, how did these all things happened? What caused Earth s diversification? To answer all these questions, Robert M. Hazen presented this new framework. According to Hazen, Nonliving world is a stage on which life plays out its evolutionary drama . This research was necessary to understand Earth s history as a frame for understanding minerals and all the stages and process that created them. Methods: According to Hazen, Over the past four and a half billion years Earth has passed through series of stages in which more and more minerals developed. Here, Evolution of Earth and its minerals has been analyzed, which are divided into stages Making of Earth, Black Earth, Red Earth, White Earth, Green Earth. Once he hits rock bottom, there would be nowhere left to go but up. In addition, he initiates Project Mayhem in an attempt to create as much chaos as possible in order to spread his therapy further. This therapy employs a form of personal solipsism in order to confront the narrator s issues, because Tyler knew that only he was able to control and understand his own conscience. The first step towards Tyler s downward spiral in his life, which also led him to start joining therapy groups, was when the narrator was denied any medication for his insomnia by a doctor. Good and evil can be seen as many things. For example, we have selfishness and kindness. Those are two meanings of the word evil and good. It is all about morals, having different morals, as in life, paths the way to what road you will travel down, good or evil. The movie The Lion Kingshowed us many examples of good and evil. Scar is obviously a choice when it comes to who was evil. You have your considered good characters in the film. You also had characters who looked at Scar as good, the hyenas. The movie shows how different individuals have different morals when it comes to good and evil. The difference between good and evil varies from people. It is all about morals, which everyone grows up with different morals. Evil might be looked at as someone that hurts people every day just because they know they can. His or her sole purpose is to make sure that everyone feels down when around them. Fascinatingly people can also be evil by sitting back and doing nothing. • 30. Considerations of Food Safety Food safety is one of the primary concerns in our industry, especially to those who process food in large amounts. Therefore, proper sanitation must be provided in order to destroy microorganisms that could possibly spoil and contaminate food products. Sanitizers are substances used to reduce and inhibit most microorganisms present in surfaces of equipment and utensils. They are usually in the form of liquid mixture applied directly on the surface of equipment or any material that may come in contact with the food (Parker, 2007). In 2007, Harrison and Davidson revealed that the most common sanitizers used in foods are hypochlorites, chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics. However, in 2009, Schmidt discovered that use of these chemicals could cause corrosion, discoloration of products, and distortion of flavor and odor (see Appendix). Also, carelessly handling of these chemicals could also risk the personnel performing sanitation. Because of the hazardous effects of these chemicals (hypochlorites, chlorine, iodophores, quats and acid anionics) in food industry, there is a necessity to find alternative methods to further reduce microorganisms. The first time I ran the 200 I got 5th. By the end of the year I had dropped off four seconds. Now I want to win both of them at every single meet. I will reach the end of the rainbow by working hard every single day. I will go to practice and push myself. I will train outside of practice and before the season starts. I will keep my grades up so I can go to all the practices and meets. I may have some setbacks on my journey to the end of the rainbow. When the temperature is cold I do not breathe well. That will make it hard to train before the season starts. I will get tired of going hard every day at practice. I will just have to remember what is at the end of the rainbow.... • 32. Christopher Columbus s Voyage Preparations And His... Christopher Columbus lived during the early modern period, more precisely the Renaissance (Boucher). At the time, the pre modern worldview that once dominated Europe since antiquity (existence to 476 C.E) began to vanish due to new intellectual way of thinking, which ultimately mature in the modern way of thinking (Boucher). While Columbus contributed to this momentous shift, there is evidence that one might argue that between Columbus voyage preparations and his religious beliefs, the iconic Genoese explorer harbored many pre modern convictions. The chronology of Europeans exploration dates way back before Columbus and the Age of Exploration in the 15th century. In actuality, the Age of Exploration started with the iconic Venetian explorer Marco Polo and his own exploration in the East. Evidence indicates that in the late Middle Ages, the Venetian explorer Marco Polo voyaged to Asia (1271 1290) in hopes of discovering a route into Asia s silk and spice trade. During that era, the spice and silk trade was the world s biggest industry: it established and destroyed empires, led to the discovery of new continents, and in many ways helped lay the foundation of obsession for exploration in the 15th century. Between the 12th and the 14th century, the demand for spices grew drastically, resulting in numerous efforts for European explorers to find possible routes into the profitable business that the Silk and Spice trade offered. There were many forces that drove this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. The Fall Of Icarus Poem Analysis If I Knew What I Knew Then is an oil painting created by Maggie Newman in 1997. It has the beautiful qualities of an impressionistic painting, and gives the audience a Dionysus style experience. Meanwhile, The Fall of Icarus is an aesthetic, bronze sculpture with Greek mythological background, and Hellenistic characteristics. Both artists present their own unique style of art, and raise multiple diverse questions from the audience in their work. The Fall of Icarus by Abraham Rattner can be described as Hellenistic art because of its illustrations of agony, and the death of Icarus, from Greek mythology. Icarus wings melted while flying in front of the sun, which resulted in him plummeting to his death. The Fall of Icarus is an incredibly detailed, bronzestatue of Icarus wings melting in flight. The bronze sun has golden rays illuminating from the sides, Icarus is presented as a dark, burnt figure slowly melting against the burning sun. If I Knew What I Knew Then by Maggie Newman can be depicted as a Impressionismbecause of its small, yet recognizable brush strokes, and manipulation of light and colors. The painting is of a young women with a look of concern, and looks as if she is staring at something behind the audience. Standing behind her is an ominous shadow shadow composed of multiple colors. In front of her is an outline of a women on her knees in agony, as if it is the women s inner feelings. The Fall of Icarus was created in 1950, and is based on the story of Icarus in Greek Mythology. According to the stories, Icarus and his father were trapped in the massive labyrinth. In order to escape, Icarus and his father created wings of feathers and wax, and strapped them to Icarus. Foolishly, Icarus flew too closely to the sun and his wings melted, causing him to plummet to his death. In the early 2000 s, the sculpture was treated with bronzed disease. Bronzed disease is when the sculpture begins to deteriorate and a white powder forms. The sculpture was successfully restored and is on display in the Leepa Rattner Museum. The first piece was called Heavy Dew , this piece was comprised of a six person group dance. The backdrop was a blue shading. The sounds in this piece were waterfalls, and rainforest sounds. The movements made me feel as though the dancers were creatures in a wilderness or a rainforest, it was fast paced. For the first part of the performance the group of girls are dancing in front of the audience together, then as the musicturns to be more serious and intense, there is just one dancer on the stage. Then, once all the dancers come back onto the stage, the music starts to soften and slow down again and the lights begin to dim for the remainder of the performance. The second performance was a solo act given the title of Love You, Possess Me. The title says it all. This was a very dark piece. The dancer was wearing an all black lace dress. She gave off an impression of being a black widow. The movements were mostly on the floor. The music was dim, and made me feel as though I was in a thriller film. The look on the performer s face made me feel as though she was distant from everyone else, tragic, and apprehensive. I enjoyed this piece the most out of all of them. In the Elizabethan era, the word shrew has been used to define ill tempered and sharp tongued women. Yet in present day, associating a specific gender with a word is not as important as it was in the past. The noun shrew could be used to define any human, despite their gender. In Taming of the Shrew, Katherina Minola is supposedly the shrew which the title of the play has labelled. However, when Petruchio is introduced to the play, it is easily apparent that he is a significantly more accurate depiction of a shrew. Petruchio, from Taming of the Shrew, accurately portrays a shrew because of his unpleasant characteristics and the cruel way he treats Katherina. Petruchio is an arrogant, bad tempered and sharp tongued man. When the other men warn him about Katherina s personality, he is baffled at their doubt that he could not handle her. Studies involving DBS are usually met with potential confounders as to the route of therapeutic intervention. The authors mentioned three, the first being the difficulty in determining specific circuits responsible due to the complexity of nervous tissue. Another being that DBS makes use of high frequency stimulation (HFS) which itself produces a myriad of changes in activity that can be hard to pin down in target cells. The final being that DBS creates artefacts through electrical stimulation that clouds target cell responses in neural circuits1. During all of this distress, Jonah had gone below the deck, and he fell asleep. When the captain discovered Jonah below the deck, he criticized Jonah for not calling on his god. Trying to create a real world on the stage is what traditional realistic plays do. They encourage the audience to forget that they are watching actors play roles in a fictional play. Wilder continuously interrupts this sort of theatrical illusion to remind the audience that they are watching a performance. The audience identifies with the characters through terror and pity. The Skin of Our Teeth portrays an All American family who goes through hell and back. I believe everyone can relate to the terror of going through hard times.
