Machiavellian Monarchies Of The 15th Century
Machiavellian Monarchies of the 15the Century To be Machiavellian means to follow the theories of
Machiavelli on what makes an effective sovereign. These were principles such as being feared by the
people, using military to gain power and diplomacy. Additionally that virtues and vices are only a
means to an end. I agree with the statement that the 15th century kingdoms of Europe such as
England, France were Machiavellian in action. The monarch in the 15th century under Henry VII, a
Machiavellian King established the Tudor dynasty in England. He used war to take control at the end
of the War of Roses. This was very Machiavellian of him because of how Machiavelli believed that all
great states are formed from war. In a ruthless

The Ways Of Non Point Source Pollution During The Great Lakes
The way of Non point source pollution in the Great Lakes
Atmospheric precipitation
Many contaminants settle out of the atmosphere, such as acid rain, the pollutants and nutrients will
transport from distant places by air depositing into the lake as the form of rain. The first pollutants as
atmospheric deposition on the Great Lakes were phosphorus. It is found that about 20 percent
phosphorus entering Lake Michigan comes from the atmosphere by determination of rain, snow and
dust. Since phosphorus pollution generated by this approach cannot be controlled, so it is more urgent
to reduce the phosphorus content of detergent, sewer and effluent fertilizers. People found fish in a
lake of Lake Superior in a remote island containing PCBs and toxaphene, and this place isolated with
no direct way to pollution. This determines the long range transport of pollutants through the
atmosphere and settlement in the lake. In fact the processes of material transport through atmospheric
was very complex. For instance PCBs was insoluble in water, so as to re enter the atmosphere during
evaporation or connected together into small particles. A lot of PCBs volatilize from the lake,
meanwhile, PCBs coming from various parts of the air mass experience the sedimentation on the lake.
Other than that the contaminated sediment is another way to cause pollution of the lake. This is
problems of the most urban industrial areas. Even if there is likely to remove severely contaminated
sediments in

Evaluation Of The Montford Unit Offers Services
Following this even further, the Montford unit offers services to admitted patients regardless if they
are offenders or general medical issues for individuals. The services that are provided is 550
psychiatric beds, a 48 bed general medical and surgical unit, gardens for the Lubbock food bank,
housing stables, and roads located on 120 acres of land (Hills, Siegfried, and Ickowitz, 2004, p. 86).
All of these services help offenders because everything is done in house regardless of the issue. They
have food, roof of over their head; they can provide assistance to others by helping box up food items
for the homeless or low income families. They could also do nontraditional activities such as art
therapy, music therapy, occupational therapy, and recreational therapy (Hills, Siegfried, and Ickowitz,
2004, p. 86). The activities will keep their mind active and thinking constantly. It could even lead to a
hobby that can turn into a business. The most important elements to consider for an individual with a
mental illness after being released from a mental health care facility is how they reintegrate with their
family and receive social support. For example, if the individual is going to live with their family the
best thing to do is to assess the families home and living situation, so that the environment is not
threatening to them. It will undermine the treatment process and ruin any positive outcomes the
individual has done up to this point. In order to supplement the

PROBLEMS, SOLUTIONS, AND FUTURE OF LAW ENFORMCEMENT INTELLIGENCE
The use of intelligence within law enforcement intelligence agencies is not always perfect. There may
be a way to safeguard against the misuse of intelligence processes to assure proper use it at all times,
but it has not yet been discovered. The only way that agencies can try and control the misuse of
intelligence is to study the historical failures of the past.
It is of most important to protect United States citizens right to the freedom of speech. For the average
American it is hard to understand why the government does not viciously target extremist groups like
the Ku Klux Klan or the American Nazi Party; but it is necessary to ... Show more content on

There is confusion over these topics which brings the necessity to revisit the basic elements of
intelligence that Intelligence is a specialization, is critical, is measurable, seldom seeks publicity,
targets organized crime problems that are often ignored by other, and require attention to detail.
Many times intelligence can be lost due to hasty deadlines or lack of analyst present. Valuable
information on police reports must be processed in order to maintain and file away for possible future
use, or many times information is passed over phone lines and then not recorded on paper are only a
couple of mistakes that can be made when trying to push to meet a deadline. The analyst must have
time to go over every detail in order to draw a final conclusion and build the best intelligence product.
Another example of a loss of intelligence is most greatly seen in the drug wars. The cartels have a
great amount of money, which is sometimes overwhelming to some police officers that are willing to
look the other way for a price. There is no way to totally avoid the bait that the wealthy cartels can use
to try and find law enforcement officials that will help them out, but through education and morality
training the police officer has a chance.
When the wrong person gains intelligence information than many lives are put at risk. Covert

Future Visions of America in Looking Backward by Edward...
Published in 1888 Looking Backward depicts a future vision of America. Utopian Boston of the year
2000 is designed in a constructive method that excludes capitalism. Through the medium of romantic
novel, Bellamy seeks to impose the idea of socialism into the nineteenth century American society.
Written at a period when economic growth went off the rails triggering the rise in unequal distribution
of wealth, Looking Backward attempts to propose a reform in social and economic systems.
From the eyes of the narrator, the novel presents a spectrum of changes and possibilities for the 19th
century audience. Plagued by the social chaos of the Gilded Age, Julian West falls asleep with
difficulty in 1887 to wake up to the Boston of year 2000, and finds out that all the evils bothering him
in the 19th century have been cast aside.
As the last sparkles of the Civil War cooled down, a period of transformation took over U.S. and the
endeavour to restore post Civil War economy initiated. The Gilded Age, as Mark Twain referred, was
a time identified with economic boom and social change. During those years, U.S. experienced the
transition from agricultural to urban together with industrialisation, scientific innovations and an
economic boom. This modernisation evolvement however, was followed by negative outcomes: as
labour demand amplified the need for immigration broke out and poverty became a remarkable issue.
What is more, the growth of middle class and its insatiable appetite

you can only find it in that particular book. You ve looked on the online database and find out that the

The freedom to read and write freely is fundamentally American. It allows citizens to express
themselves without fearing repercussions from the government, or fellow citizens. It allows readers to
read freely and make their own decisions. Book banning would create a narrow minded population,
who don t know how to reason for themselves.
Thinking again of the argument of preserving family values, it must be taken into consideration the
kind of television that is currently airing. In many ways TV is more graphic, and explicit. Yet it is
tolerated, whereas even just crude language is apparently cause enough to ban a book.
Parents are also worried about when their children who are reading above grade level are assigned
books intended for students three to four grades above them. This can expose younger readers to
seemingly inappropriate material. However there are other options, parents can talk to teachers and
ask for more age appropriate books for their younger readers.
Banning books violates the rites that our founding fathers fought so hard for in the Revolutionary War.

The Last Of The Mohicans Essay
In The Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper, historical romance is apparent through
settings, characters and plots. Cooper is considered by many critics to be the father of the American
historical romance. Fred Lewis Patee said, Not only was Cooper the pioneer (of the historical
romance) in America, and thus worthy of the highest praise, but in many respects his romances have
never been surpassed. ; (212) Cooper celebrated the creative spirit of the individual and had a deep
appreciation for nature. He was a romantic who enjoyed the mysteriousness and exoticness of the
frontier. He favored the use of emotions over reason. Through his romantic writings, Cooper is able to

He brings the reader into his unblemished world, where everything is pure. The setting in The Last of
the Mohicans shows Cooper s deepened appreciation of nature.
Romanticism is also seen in the characters in the novel. The characters are manifestly impossible.
(Pattee 212) Hawkeye is one of these impossible characters. He is an ideal character who is pure and
untainted by the corruption of society. Hawkeye, like Cooper, is a romantic in that he has a deep
respect for nature. Cooper uses Hawkeye to celebrate the creative spirit of the individual. Hawkeye,
Chingachgook and Uncas are characters all folklores are about. They are the heroes that complete
impossible task to help others. Cooper also portrays, in his novel, the stiff upper class society and their
true desire to escape to the frontier. (Magill 448) Cora and Alice represent the stiff, elegant society.
The reader soon sees that under their refined life, they have a wanting to be freed ; from their upper
class society. They want to escape this boring life and be allowed to live. They see the frontier as this
pure, beautiful place where they can be freed of the control of their society. (448) Cooper uses
characters to portray his romanticism.
Romanticism can also be seen in The Last of the Mohicans in the plot. Cooper s plots favor emotions
over reasons. Cooper opens the novel with a historical atmosphere. However, this does not last for

Women During The Revolutionary Era
Fighting....maybe for freedom, but probably not was an indication of just how revolutionary the
Revolution War era was for women. As America was going through a new estate with the legacy of
the revolution, and striving for a new national governance, opportunities arose for both men and
women. During the revolutionary era, woman showed achievements in war and education. Although,
women developed a new consciousness that increased opportunities to influence public life, it was
often limited and ridiculed by women s traditional roles to society.
The American Revolution signified a period that was rich in debates about the nature of the
government as well as the rights of citizens. It generated changes in the principles, opinions, and ...

According to DuBois, This European intellectual movement emphasized the rights of individual, the
role of reason, the promise of social progress, and the importance of the scientific method (DuBois,
pg. 125). Although, the appreciation for the rights of individuals were questioned, would it apply to
both men and women? Surprisingly, women of were able to make some great contributions, however,
they had their limitations. This is shown during the taxations that the French put on colonials.
The taxations that were put on tea, household items, and cloth would became the biggest burden on
women, as consumers. The events arose women s political consciousness and gave them an
opportunity to voice opinions on the burdens place on them and their neighbors. Therefore, women
resisted these new polices by boycotting British goods. Instead of using imported cloth they began
creating their own, and they also began using herbal teas and coffee. Women of the time finally saw an
opportunity where they exert some political influence and they took it. They took much pride in their
work because they actually thought that they had finally had an opportunity to exert a political
influence. In New England the spinning bees were popular for manufacturing yarn and free white

The Silkwood Movie Essay
Summary The Silkwood Movie is about a nuclear facility, and the lives of three people who worked
there. This movie is based off a true story, about the conditions and safety concerns for the nuclear
plants, back when the research was still lacking. The main problems in the movie, is when it came to
the health of the workers from the chemicals let off from the nuclear plant. The three main characters
are: Karen Silkwood (the main character), Drew Stevens (the boyfriend), and Dolly Pelliker (the
roommate). All of these characters worked in the nuclear plant and were exposed to the plants poor
safety conditions. Being exposed to the plutonium caused the main character Karen Silkwood, to raise
awareness of the health concerns to the workers, from the exposure of plutonium. In an article by,
Live Science, plutonium is explained as a radioactive silver metal, that is a byproduct of the nuclear
power industry ( sjkdfkljshd). Plutonium has also been linked to causing cancer in people who were
exposed to high levels of the chemical. Karen s main focus was to get the Union on her side, because
many of the workers already knew the health risks and decided to ignore them. Most of the workers
did care about their health, however; they needed the job from working at the nuclear facility. Later
Karen was exposed to high levels of plutonium, but the causes of her death were unknown.

The New Business Of Emerson
In the year of 1888 a company by the name of ASCO was founded, and the company still exists today
but they are now known as the popular business of Emerson. They were manufacturers of elevators,
compressors and generator controls. But in the year of 1889 a man by the name of Almon Strowger
created the basis for the first practical telephone switch that would later develop into a large scale
system that could hold many phone lines at once. Strowger s original switch had a 10x10 contact bank
that allowed it to hold up to 100 different telephones. That doesn t seem like a lot but based on the
year, this is an innovation that would help change the communication world for the better. In the
Strowger switch, pulses generated by a telephone user directly moved electromagnetic contacts in a
two way motion in a stack of rotary contacts, then a telephone number, selected one digit at a time,
without operator use could be dialed and connected. (http://ethw.org/Electromechanical_Telephone
Switching) The system worked in two different ways. The first being uniselector which is operated by
a selector that is in the starting position and has a moving contact on the end of it called a wiper. These
wipers are used to make electrical connection to the bank contacts or phone lines. The wipers were
operated by an electromagnet called a driving magnet. Current would flow through the windings of
the magnet which would cause an attraction of the armature to establish a connection. As an input

The Reign Of Elizabeth I
The reign of Elizabeth I is often thought of as a Golden Age. It was a time of extravagance and luxury
in which a flourishing popular culture was expressed through writers such as Shakespeare, and
explorers like Drake and Raleigh sought to expand England s territory overseas. This sense of well
being was embodied by Queen Elizabeth who liked to wear sumptuous costumes and jewellery, and be
entertained in style at her court. But life in Tudor England did not always reflect such splendour. The
sixteenth century was also a time when the poor became poorer, books and opinions were censored,
and plots to overthrow the Queen were rife. Elizabeth s ministers had to employ spies and even use
torture to gain information about threats to her life. In 1558 the Protestant preacher John Knox wrote,
It is more than a monster in nature that a woman should reign and bear empire over man. So was he
right? Were women fit to rule the country? The people had lived through the unpopular reign of Mary
I, known as Bloody Mary for her merciless persecution of Protestants. Lady Jane Grey was Queen for
only a matter of days before being toppled and eventually executed. And Mary Queen of Scots made a
series of ill judged decisions which led her to the executioner s block in 1587. Elizabeth could be as
ruthless and calculating as any King before her. Elizabeth was a different kind of Queen: quick witted,
clever and able to use feminine wiles to get her own way. Elizabeth could be as

Tom Sawyer Analysis
Mark Twain once said, Classic A book which people praise and don t read. The debate about what the
definition of what a classic is has been talked about for many decades. Even Mark Twain, author of
many outstanding classics, has an opinion about what a classic is . However, a classic novel is a book
that offers more discovery after every reread, withstands the reviews of millions of critics, and its
readers are able to relate to it, in any day and age. To start, one element that makes a novel a classic is
that it offers a continuous amount of discovery after every reread. A classic must offer an ongoing
journey of discovery because there are many different story elements in classics such as language,
theme, and foreshadowing. These all help the reader to acquire more knowledge about the novel.
Unlike pop culture novels, which only offer entertainment, classics help readers learn something. This
requires many in depth reads to fully grasp the layers of the novel. Along with that, classics do not tell
the readers what is going on. The author of a classic would hint at it with clues hidden in between the
lines, after each read, the novel should be pieced together like a puzzle, otherwise, the novel has no
true lesson being taught. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer , has many qualities that fit this pillar. One
example of how Tom Sawyer fits this pillar was in Chapter 13 when Tom, Huck, and Joe, went to
Jackson Island. There were many internal conflicts, elements of

Analysis Of The Prologue Of The Canterbury Tales
Bhakta, Karan
English IV, Sixth Hour
Mr. Adcock
8 December 2015
The Religious Vows In The Prologue of The Canterbury Tales, Geoffrey Chaucer has some religious
characters who break the vows they pledge for, to get a place in the Church. Many characters in the
story seem to have an awkward characteristic that the writer did not notice. Why do the religious
characters break the vow? How do they break it? For example, the monk was a primary part of the
church, but as you keep reading, the characters start to change in ways you could never imagine. Some
character do not interact with each other depending upon their social class level. The vows that the
religious characters break are the Vow of Poverty, the Vow of Chastity, the Vow of Obedience, and the
Vow of Stability. The vow that is probably the most frequently broken is the Vow of Poverty.
According to the Prologue of The Canterbury Tales, Chaucer says; I saw his sleeves were garnished at
the hand/ With fine grey fur, the finest in the land. / And on his hood, to fasten it at his chin/ He had a
wrought gold cunningly fashioned pin (197 200). As a religious figure, the monk probably should not
be expensively dressed in fine fur or gold jewelry. He is also showing others that he is rich with all
this jewelry. Later Chaucer says, He did not rate that text at a plucked hen/ Which says that hunters are
not holy men (181 182). He ignored the rules of the monk and acted on his. Also he is

Errors and Omissions Insurance: A Realtor s Must Have
No one s perfect. No matter how carefully realtors do their jobs provide training, conduct thorough
research, put a variety of controls in place, and accumulate years, even decades of experience mistakes
happen.
In addition, realtors can t possibly control everything their agents do and say all the time. For
example:
An agent sells the wrong lot of land
An agent fails to follow up on an email that includes an inspection report. The lack of oversight results
in a suit that was three times the purchase price of the home.
An agent flees the state after making a deal, leaving the clients and the realty company in trouble.
Worse still, frivolous claims can be made against an agency. Even from those unfounded or frivolous
claims, legal expenses must be paid no matter who wins in court, and those costs can be devastating to
a realtor s time and finances.

Alcohol In The Media Analysis
Shaken or Stirred?
How alcohol in the media affects young minds.
Media plays a big part in portraying alcohol to be something that young Australians feel they need to
try. Media does not just refer to their portrayal in television shows and movies, but also the role
advertisements have on television, radio, music, billboards, internet, signs, video games, public
transport and magazines. Television advertisement plays a major role in the attraction of alcohol to
adolescence, and a key aspect of this is the timeslot in which they are shown. The timeslot in which
television advertisements depict alcoholic beverages are more often than not in between programs that
are popular amongst the younger generations. This includes cartoons and programs ... Show more

Many youth even try to study these portrayals in order to look and act like the people they see in the
ads. They often show that increased social status and an overall acceptance by society will most
certainly be the result of consumption. This gets even more complicated when celebrities and role
models often associated with adolescence are portrayed with alcohol, as the younger generation will
feel more compelled to try alcohol if their role models do. This can lead to a subconscious abuse of
alcohol simply due to the fact that they don t know any better.
Advertisements aren t the only form of media that draws younger viewers in. Movies and television
programs that depict main, or even minor, characters consuming alcohol can also cause adolescence to
feel that there must not be that many negative effects if these people are doing it, or that the negative
effects must be worth it. A study shows that 52.1% of movies contain alcohol brand name
appearances, while 83% contained the consumption of

The training ground was a lot different from where the fleshies, which was what we called the recruits,

economic and political ties with China albeit on an informal basis. Both countries elevated their
relationship to a more formal level by establishing diplomatic relations on October 3 1990. Since then,
the economic and trade cooperation between the two nations has expanded steadily and China has
become Singapore s largest trading partner in 2014 with the bilateral trade amounting to S$121.47
billion. From Singapore s perspective, being an entrepot city devoid of natural resources, it had
historically no choice but to be the middleman of all the trading nations, including China. Due to its
strategic and well located geographical position, Singapore had emerged as an important middleman
and reexport centre for natural rubber from Malaya to China and a distribution centre for China s
commodities to Southeast Asia. When reforms in China began to rejuvenate its internal economy and
to open it up to the global economy by signing a number of regional trade agreements and by
accessioning into the World Trade Organisation (WTO) in the year 2001, Singapore has been actively
pursuing economic opportunities in China. Singapore and China are contracting parties to the United
Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG), which establishes a
system of uniform sale of goods rules to govern the rights and obligations of parties to international
sales contracts

Business For The Glory Of God
Business for the Glory of God is a book that helps Christians work in Business for God. Wayne
Grudem did an excellent job of sharing and providing the purpose and meaning of business and ways
to glorify God while conducting said business. The main themes Grudem talks about include;
ownership, productivity, employment, commercial transactions, profit, money, inequality of
possessions, competition, borrowing and lending, attitudes of the heart and the effect on world
poverty. He kept his thoughts short and to the point, allowing for the important information to be
shared with his readers. I agreed with all of his main thoughts, especially when he spoke about his
discussion on money and attitudes of the heart; however, there is significant neglect in the area of
government regulations throughout the book. In this review I will discuss the good and the neglect.
Wayne Grudem starts his book with an introduction to answer the most basic question when it comes
to reading this book; is business basically good or evil? (Grudem, 2003) To really understand Grudem
and his message it is important to know where the bible and you stand on the answer to that question.
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so
confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. (Deuteronomy 8:18) We are
also told multiple times in the Bible to fear not, this fear can put a stop to a business idea or business

Tim Winton The Turning Summary
Masculinity, the attributes applied to the male gender, has continuously manifested itself within the
matrices of literature, with many writers using narrative fiction as a vehicle to explore ideas of the
historical underpinnings of manhood, and more generally, alternative constructions of the male
ontology and modality. Transcendental notions of masculinity have inevitably constrained the
contemporary man within set ideologies and values those which often enforce unrealistic and toxic
expectations. This conundrum is especially relevant in Australian society given the stereotypical and
diffused archetype of the Aussie Man ; which characteristics such as apathy, nobility and strength
forming the bedrock of the national identity. Tim Winton, a prominent Australian author, has
recognised and highlighted this issue in his collection of short stories The Turning, effectively

Vic Lang, one of the central characters, is arguably most affected by the constraints society places on
gender succumbing to romanticised ideologies.
Hence, Winton utilises the character to represent the typical male, whilst also exploring the underbelly
of a conforming male s wellbeing. Vic is symbolic of the detrimental effects maladaptive masculinity
can have on a young boys development, as he exhibits emotional instability.
In Damaged Goods , his wife Gail explains that he, displaying that Vic has rehearsed the ideology of a
man s apathy and lack of emotion.
Although he is clearly troubled by his past and unable to let go of aspects of it, he remains rigid and
distance in adulthood. Vic s psychological fragility is thus often explained by female characters. Here,
Winton simultaneously provides an external perspective and challenges the lack of rapport and self

How Does Prospero Change In The Tempest
In Shakespeare s play, The Tempest , Prospero, the main character, is the rightful Duke of Milan. He
found refuge on a distant island after his brother, Antonio, seized Prospero s title and homeland. These
events and experiences of being exiled advance character to become isolated and enriched at the same
time. As a comic hero, Prospero start off as being frustrated and vengeful due to his separation from
his title and homeland, but is later refined due to those experiences.
Antonio s dethroning of Prospero is not only the reason why Prospero is alienated but it also is a great
example about the theme of betrayal that is prominent in the book. Antonio s betrayal in particular,
serves as the source of conflict for the play. Prospero creates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Prospero s intentions throughout the play was to seek out vengeance towards his brother and all those

serving another master, these acts of change are key to the improvement and empowerment Prospero
learns after being on the island. The is a growth and arch shown about the character as he states, The
rarer action is in virtue than in vengeance. Prospero also shows enrichment of character when he sets
Ariel free after commanding him to make smooth sailing upon the return to Naples and Milan,
contrasting to the beginning of the play when Prospero seems ungrateful about the service of Ariel.
The problem Prospero had that paved the way to him being exiled, was his obsession with studying
his art/magic. It is through his experience on the island where he finally comes to realize that the
source and self improvement that he needed to make was giving up his magic. This is symbolized by
the throwing away of his books and his plea to the audience to release him from his bands . By giving
up his magic, the reason he couldn t be an affective Duke, shows how his alienation on the island

Becoming A Soldier In The United States Army
Introduction If you asked me to describe my life in a short essay it would be highly difficult for many
reasons. From being a country boy from Bunn, North Carolina, to enlisting in the United States Army,
and being deployed to Afghanistan the story of my life has token many paths. In this essay I will take
you down the road of me trying to enlist in the Marine Corps and becoming a soldier in the United
States Army.
The Drive to Join As a young man I have always had the ambition to serve my country. Watching

father and myself for the dream I always had could help me pay for college. Presenting my father with
a plan was the goal in accomplishing my dream and I knew he did not want his son to be in debt with
student loans. Gathering the information was the start so I contacted an army recruiter to see how I
was going to pay for college. He presented me with a student loan repayment program and also an
incentive how I could pay for my bachelors and possibly masters. After he gave me the plan I
presented it to my father. Again he was not for it. He told me he could let his son be buried in a pine
box for trying to defend this nation. My father was adamant but what was the deciding factor was me
letting him know I couldn t continue my education and I was going to be in debt. He then realized and
told me, son you are a man for putting your body on the line to provide for yourself and get an
education. I knew I had a winner then. Even though I did not need his permission I wanted his
condolences. I then enlisted in the United States Army as a young man at the age of 20 with a plan for

The Service Of Service Design
We have learnt from Servicer Strategy that service means to provide guidance on design, and how to
implement them according to the needs of the customer. From the service lifecycle Service Design
comes after the service strategy (Annexure A). The service design is not limited to new services, but
also to old services which are need to improve the service design which are necessary to maintain the
value to customers. The main objective of service design is designing an innovative idea or to change
an existing design into a live environment. To change a design or to implement there are several
requirements. These requirements are taken from the service portfolios and they are analyzed. There

They said that design is moving closer to the social innovation linking its characteristics at different
levels. For example, service and relationships to social needs or improving life conditions and social

In order to successfully implement the plan of design or projects of service management there has to
be efficient use of 4P s: The People, the Process, the Products and the Partners. To function the service
management, the 4P s must be overlapped to each other. There should balance between all the 4P s to
ensure safe and appropriate design. The design approach must be comprehensive, because most of the
problems faced by the organizations are focus on the functional requirements. The design architecture
should be considered from all the aspects. Therefore, there are several design aspects, they are:
Service level management, Availability management, Service catalogue management, Security
management, Capacity management, IT service continuity management.
Service Level Management:
Service level management is an important link between IT and business. Service level provides a good
foundation for good quality service, cost reduction IT services and ensuring compliance with the
service goals and customer s expectations. An effective service level system will always ensure that
the key aspects are met in time where risks is not into picture. For an effective business, IT service

Darwin s Theory Of Evolution Research Paper
While it is unfair to observe the relationships between Judaism and the theories surrounding Darwin s
evolution as a whole, it is however feasible to analyze evolutionary biology within a highly specific
sect and time period of Judaism. Interestingly, the topic of Darwinism and Judaism from the 19th
century to the present is an ongoing and subjective debate in the US. Throughout the past few
centuries, Judaism has been somewhat split along the issue of whether or not evolution is compatible
with Jewish laws and teachings. The most conservative (with a small c) Jewish rabbis and
philosophers argue that evolution poses a conflict with Jewish belief, while more moderate Jews argue
that both ideas can coexist. Within Orthodox Judaism minus the Hasidic, religious leaders have

In brief, God is the Power in the cosmos that gives human life the direction that enables the human

Darwin s theories of evolution. Kaplan s firm position of theistic evolution follows through throughout
the rabbis of Modern Orthodox Judaism. The common trend by Modern Orthodox Jews is to attempt
to create compromises that accept both progressive sciences and religion. The main concern with this
is that each and every topic must be settled through a case by case basis. For some of the larger issues,
such as evolutionary biology, each case must be dealt through by interpreting the Bible since evolution
cannot be interpreted. Darwin s theories are scientific truth, leaving no room for interpretation or
creative manipulation. In this case, rabbis must take the biblical text and find ways to integrate it into
science, lest there be

Difference Between NRF And NIMS
The various local, state, and federal emergency management systems of the United States suffered a
crude awakening in the decade of the 2000s. Systems expected to hold up were put to the test and
failed to prepare for disaster, mitigate the damage, and, in some instances, actually hampered
responses in life or death situations. Worse, all failings were highlighted in an age of global
communication and mass media, on display first whether a man made incident like September 11th
attacks or natural disaster like Hurricane Katrina. The decade found the complacent government
failing to maintain modern emergency management practices, stimulating began a series of doctrinal

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) would become the central point of contact
within the national government in responding to incidents. Since formation in 1979, FEMA s core
missions were to enhance the government s ability to survive a foreign attack, and to assist state and
local authorities in disaster response (Carafano, 2005). And while the two core missions seem
heterogenous in scope at times from an outside perspective, the biggest difference between the two
tasks is duration. A man made disaster may be over in a matter of minutes as compared to a hurricane
lasting several days, but in both instances the road to recovery is long. In order to streamline response
and recovery in either scenario, FEMA was reorganized with new directives to support comprehensive
emergency management practices (CRS, 2006). Today, FEMA provides the standard approach and

Reverse Imperialism in My Last Duchess
Professionals divide literature into many different categories, or genres, which seem not to relate to
each other. Some crossover hybrids exist, but very few works of literature can actually be compared to
others that are not in the same genre. One such comparison would be that of a poem and the detective
genre in general. For example, Robert Browning s My Last Duchess , a dramatic monologue, would
very rarely be compared to Edgar Allan Poe s short story The Purloined Letter. The writers of
Detective Fiction Crime and Compromise, however, have placed Browning s poem in the
manifestation section of their book. A manifestation of detective fiction is something, other than
detective fiction, that outwardly or perceptibly indicates a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
My Last Duchess is a manifestation of detective fiction in that it engages the readers on a higher level;
this causes the readers to become involved in the poem in order to understand it and grasp the use of
reverse imperialism in Browning s poem. Although the poem never states that the Duke murdered the
Duchess, the dialogue of the poem insinuates it. While talking with the currier Duke Ferrara declares,
I gave commands;/Then all smiles stopped together. There she stands/As if alive. (45 47) This
statement by the Duke makes the reader assume the worst of the Duke, believing that he ordered for
his last duchess to be done away with. The society would note the calculated order given by the Duke
to be similar to the order a ruler of another country would give to begin the invasion of a weaker
country. Another manifestation of an imperialistic country, which Duke Ferrara displays, is his desire
to control everything in his house. Browning shows this control in Duke Ferrara s statement, (since
non puts by/The curtain I have drawn for you but I) (9 10) when the Duke is first revealing the
Duchess s picture to the currier. Society would notice the control over who sees the painting of the last
Duchess as a manifestation of the attitude an imperialistic country would have coming into England
and wishing to control every aspect of society s life. Not only is the poem itself a

Alexander the Great was a Macedonian king, a fierce warrior, and able to conquer many lands. He was

mistreated people by selling 30,000 of them as slaves, and and killing 6,000 people. I think this is

August 23, 2014 Abstract
To many convicts in the United States the jail or prison is often times the first resort of punishing.
Legal teams do not research sentencing options; they like to sentence an offender to the easiest place
to do their time which is the jail. The jail has the amenities that an inmate seeks or wants. They can get
a shower, a warm meal, and some clothes free of charge and get released the next day. If they go to
prison, the inmate can get all those perks, and get released years later. These inmates that come to
prison for small crimes, are causing the prison populations to expand person by person. The cells are
not designed more than two people , and the shower can only one body in it at a time and of course the
toilet is only designed for buttock at time.
Jail and Prison should be the last resort, but in modern society it is the first resort

All kinds of goods and services are available in an underground economy. The most commonly traded
goods and services are goods and services that are available in the official market, but at a lower cost
in the black market; or goods and services that has a limited supply in the official market, but are sold
at an elevated price in the Black market. Despite the trade being illegal, as long as both the seller and
buyer comes to an agreement on the price, they trade privately with cash to avoid being detected.
Although many sellers get away with this, at the end of the day underground economy is a continued
cycle of affecting the country and its citizens, including sellers and buyers in the black market, mostly
its tax revenues will be affected, then the GDP, and finally its citizens. All Black market trades are
done in the shadows, but if the root causes of the continued growth in the underground economy are
known, things could be done to eliminate the number of black market trades as much as possible.
Underground economy is disruptive to the society, to avoid these negative effects; it should be
eliminated as much as possible.
The unreported economy causes tax evasion and that affects everybody in Canada. There are various
negative effects regarding the black market; doubtful the most significant one is the effect it has on tax
revenues the unreported economy. Tax revenue is the sum of all different kinds of taxes collected

The sheet was at first intended to assist the auditors in performing their job but it will be re used to

This lab s problem asked how the heat capacity of a lead sinker can be determined (Bridges 192). The
hypothesis stated for the first experiment that if the lead sinker is heated in boiling water, placed in a

be calculated because with the mass of the lead sinker, the original volume and mass of the water, and
before and after temperature checks of the water, the data collected can be used with available

was determined by dividing the heat absorbed by the water by the sinker s temperature change and the

specific heat capacity of 0.136 J/g०C, a 16.9% difference from the theoretical heat capacity of lead of
0.159 J/g०C. The percent difference was too vast to support the hypothesis, which required that heat
capacity be calculated accurately with little error. For this first experiment, performance errors that
contributed to the inconsistent results were the touching of the the thermometer to the calorimeter and
continuous, unnecessary movement of the thermometer, producing inaccurate measurements of the
water temperature. Likewise, the lead sinker was left out in the open for too long while transitioning
between the hot water bath and the calorimeter, causing heat and energy loss. In the second part of this

Homeless Families Essay
Homeless families compose a fraction of the homeless population as they represent roughly a third of
the homeless population in the United States (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development,
2010), and approximately 1.5 million children 1 in 50 youngsters are homeless each year in the United
States (p. 389). These homeless families often struggle to find permanent residency as a collective
unit. There are several types of housing situations available for homeless families such as temporary
housing, transitional housing settings, and shelters, yet the housing situation for homeless families
often causes stress for families as stability and a secure home is always in question. The lack of stable,
consistent housing is the central, defining characteristic of families experiencing homelessness,
distinguishing them and their experience(s) from those with stable housing who experience other
correlated conditions (e.g., poverty) (Kilmer, Cook, Crusto, Strater, and Haber, 2012, p. 394).
Homeless families often seek different types of housing usually by first reaching out to temporary
shelters in emergency situations like domestic violence that often lead to homelessness, which provide
services for children and families. There are many challenges families encounter in the process of
seeking permanent housing.

Who Introduced Innovations in the Kashmiri Shawl
Kings or Communities: Who introduced innovations in the Kashmiri Shawl?
After briefly discussing the genesis of the Kashmiri Shawls we will now try to explore another main
aspect of this study that is who really transformed Kashmiri shawl industry. All the historical
chronicles and travelogues have overstated the role of the Kings in the development of the Kashmiri
shawls. Nowhere is the role of the local communities delineated. Almost all historians and scholars
who have worked on shawls have consensus on the fact that all the new technicalities visible in the
Shawl making were possible because of the Kings who ruled Kashmir in the past. But, which political
rule has more influenced the shawl industry can t be ascertained with certainty. That is why Ames
(1986) contends that it is impossible to speak of one great period in the development of the Kashmiri
shawl; each culture brought its own unique contribution. The development of the Kashmiri shawl is
influenced directly by changing historical circumstances
In this section we tried to deconstruct this historical claim that the shawl industry in Kashmir
developed because of the innovations introduced by various Kings. We explored the nature of this
royal patronage and the role various Kings played in the development of the pashmina shawls in
Kashmir. We found that Kashmiri pashmina shawl industry developed because of the ingenuity and
creative potential of the local communities.

Edmond Ludlow s words, How glorious, but then such betrayal! Oliver Cromwell was neither a hero
nor a villain. The evidence and opinions gathered will state, how he went from good to bad, and from
bad to evil.
Oliver Cromwell, was a puritan gentleman from Huntingdon. He was born on the 25th of April 1599,
and brought up in a very wealthy family, and a high social class. Cromwell, was an MP for ... Show

He drew up his army into a good body, and people were proud to serve him. With this army, Cromwell
fought, and succeeded in all of his battles. In fact, Cromwell won so many of his battles, that Prince
Rupert actually nicknamed him Old Ironsides. At this stage, he wasn t everyone s hero. I mean, he was
parliaments hero, and the followers of parliaments hero, but not everyone s. He captured 5000
Royalists, and killed nearly 500 all in one battle, so he must be pretty good! But don t you think that
this is not enough, I mean I think that we would have to see whether he does anything with this; being
successful I mean. Don t you?
In January of 1659, King Charles I was executed publicly. It was a tragedy that touched many hearts.
But why did it happen, and who was responsible? Charles I, became a prisoner of the New Model
Army, who tried to make a deal with him, but because he still believed that god meant him to be a
powerful king, he made a secret alliance with the Scots, (and their army), who thought that this was a
good way to win control in England. As Scotland was the backdoor to England, it seemed like a good
plan. A second civil war broke out in 1648, and so

Why Are Freedoms Important To American People
The Freedom We Have The First amendment in the constitution sets a ground and purpose for all other
amendments for the American People. The freedom to speak your mind, worship a god, pray, and to
protest, these actions are all protected by the first amendment. The first amendment is the reason why
immigrants, minorities, settle to America, away from destruction, deception, and oppression.
Although, all twenty seven amendments are a very crucial part in regulating the United States; The
first amendment puts everything together and creates an optimistic view for the American people. One
of the important subjects people should discuss is the freedom america has, American citizens are
given freedoms most countries are not entitled to. Americans ... Show more content on

A free speech society is more dynamic than a quiet one, making it a breeding ground for new
ideas, inventions, and businesses. The first amendment protects people and children in school, they
cannot force us to say anything people to say something they do not want to including, any sort of
pledge to the Nation. According to a study at The University of Virginia, men, women and even some
children were executed for daring to speak against a monarch or a powerful cooperation in other
countries. America gives its people the opportunity to make a difference and to benefit themselves by
speaking and arguing for a change or, their opinion. The protection given freedom of the press and
assembly are unique provisions in the Bill of Rights because it protects the freedom of a group as well
as that of individuals. The exchange of ideas is more efficient when there are more than two people
discussing the topic. Letting american citizen speak and protest help them fight for a cause without
actually physically, verbally fighting. A free press creates more and more reliable information for
consumers and producers, not allowing free press can lead to fraud and corruption and devastates

Psalm 60 Analysis
Anderson s paper is written to discuss the possible dating of Psalm 60 based on the way one would
read and analyze it. His main point is to warn against trying to date the psalms without adequate
support; many different scholars are used by Anderson to prove his point that dating is hard to do
when you do not have enough information. However, he incorporated the LXX and MT as well as
other psalms to solidify his claim for the date he gave the psalm. Anderson gives the reader a form
critical analysis, historical critical analysis of the oracle and the complaint, and gives a text critical
analysis before trying to date the psalm himself. The article begins with Anderson stating the current,
popular view that has been used to date psalm 60, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using other scholars and their research added to the argument, however, it would have been even
more convincing if he would have included a more balanced view of scholars who agreed as well as
disagreed with the view that he presented in the text. Overall, however, Anderson presented his view
with enough support to convince me that his dating is the most accurate, simply because it is clear in
his work that he put in the effort and care enough about the topic to search for the most reliable date
based on facts presented. In his work, Anderson stresses that dating a psalm is not an easy task, but he
made an honest and well thought out attempt at dating the psalm. Therefore, I believe that overall the
text is a good example for other scholars to use to try and date other psalms as well as understand the
process of knowing the culture of the Bible even more for a more thorough appreciation for what the
text is conveying about God and his

Comparison Between Ella Fitzgerald And Louis Armstrong
The collaborations between Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong demonstrate some of jazz s finest
performances. One of their duets is, You Won t Be Satisfied , in which they share a hopelessly
romantic moment. After the brief instrumental introduction, the pair take their turns singing the same
chorus for followed by a collaborative effort with a short solo trumpet performance between the
second and third sections. Fitzgerald starts off the first chorus singing to Armstrong very casually but
quickly allows her classic sassy and emotional vocal tone to shine through by the end of the third line.
The chorus sings out about how the singer tries so hard to please the other but the companion does not
reciprocate the same feelings; the other side

The Apartment Is An Oscar Winning Motion Picture And Made...
The Apartment is an Oscar winning motion picture and made by one of Hollywood s all time greatest
directors that ever lived. At the film s center is a romantic comedy, but it is much more than that, when
viewed without its satirical stance, it is a sad, dramedy (comedy drama or tragicomedy). Set at the end
of the 1950s during a time in American culture where an invisible and unmentionable class system
existed, indeed American society is thoroughly stratified by this time. The film focuses on two
despondent people who are caught between the haves and have nots, where social class rank was
based on educational background, income, and work level status. The American economy of the 1950s
was a booming explosion of capitalism and a constant growing infrastructure that demanded new
workers to fill the gigantic office buildings of corporations and service workers to handle the support
of public needs. America during this period in history was a bustling and busy atmosphere full of
innovation, new occupations, suburban living, and rapid mobility. Social class distinction was on
everybody s mind and social equality was at the top of the list. The film illustrates the greed of this
corporate era and the elite managers that take advantage of it. Stuck in the cog works are two lonely
people, who only want to get ahead, and find true companionship. The tale begins in New York City, a
light in an apartment window shines in the window without the owner being there, instead, we learn

These were principles such as being feared by the people, using military to gain power and diplomacy. Additionally that virtues and vices are only a means to an end. I agree with the statement that the 15th century kingdoms of Europe such as England, France were Machiavellian in action. The monarch in the 15th century under Henry VII, a Machiavellian King established the Tudor dynasty in England. He used war to take control at the end of the War of Roses. The Ways Of Non Point Source Pollution During The Great Lakes The way of Non point source pollution in the Great Lakes Atmospheric precipitation Many contaminants settle out of the atmosphere, such as acid rain, the pollutants and nutrients will transport from distant places by air depositing into the lake as the form of rain. The first pollutants as atmospheric deposition on the Great Lakes were phosphorus. It is found that about 20 percent phosphorus entering Lake Michigan comes from the atmosphere by determination of rain, snow and dust. Since phosphorus pollution generated by this approach cannot be controlled, so it is more urgent to reduce the phosphorus content of detergent, sewer and effluent fertilizers. People found fish in a lake of Lake Superior in a remote island containing PCBs and toxaphene, and this place isolated with no direct way to pollution. This determines the long range transport of pollutants through the atmosphere and settlement in the lake. In fact the processes of material transport through atmospheric was very complex. For instance PCBs was insoluble in water, so as to re enter the atmosphere during evaporation or connected together into small particles. A lot of PCBs volatilize from the lake, meanwhile, PCBs coming from various parts of the air mass experience the sedimentation on the lake. Other than that the contaminated sediment is another way to cause pollution of the lake. This is problems of the most urban industrial areas. The most important elements to consider for an individual with a mental illness after being released from a mental health care facility is how they reintegrate with their family and receive social support. For example, if the individual is going to live with their family the best thing to do is to assess the families home and living situation, so that the environment is not threatening to them. Valuable information on police reports must be processed in order to maintain and file away for possible future use, or many times information is passed over phone lines and then not recorded on paper are only a couple of mistakes that can be made when trying to push to meet a deadline. The analyst must have time to go over every detail in order to draw a final conclusion and build the best intelligence product. Another example of a loss of intelligence is most greatly seen in the drug wars. The cartels have a great amount of money, which is sometimes overwhelming to some police officers that are willing to look the other way for a price. • 6. Future Visions of America in Looking Backward by Edward... Published in 1888 Looking Backward depicts a future vision of America. Utopian Boston of the year 2000 is designed in a constructive method that excludes capitalism. Through the medium of romantic novel, Bellamy seeks to impose the idea of socialism into the nineteenth century American society. Written at a period when economic growth went off the rails triggering the rise in unequal distribution of wealth, Looking Backward attempts to propose a reform in social and economic systems. From the eyes of the narrator, the novel presents a spectrum of changes and possibilities for the 19th century audience. Plagued by the social chaos of the Gilded Age, Julian West falls asleep with difficulty in 1887 to wake up to the Boston of year 2000, and finds out that all the evils bothering him in the 19th century have been cast aside. As the last sparkles of the Civil War cooled down, a period of transformation took over U.S. and the endeavour to restore post Civil War economy initiated. The Gilded Age, as Mark Twain referred, was a time identified with economic boom and social change. During those years, U.S. experienced the transition from agricultural to urban together with industrialisation, scientific innovations and an economic boom. This modernisation evolvement however, was followed by negative outcomes: as labour demand amplified the need for immigration broke out and poverty became a remarkable issue. It was a time of extravagance and luxury in which a flourishing popular culture was expressed through writers such as Shakespeare, and explorers like Drake and Raleigh sought to expand England s territory overseas. This sense of well being was embodied by Queen Elizabeth who liked to wear sumptuous costumes and jewellery, and be entertained in style at her court. But life in Tudor England did not always reflect such splendour. The sixteenth century was also a time when the poor became poorer, books and opinions were censored, and plots to overthrow the Queen were rife. Elizabeth s ministers had to employ spies and even use torture to gain information about threats to her life. In 1558 the Protestant preacher John Knox wrote, It is more than a monster in nature that a woman should reign and bear empire over man. So was he right? Were women fit to rule the country? The people had lived through the unpopular reign of Mary I, known as Bloody Mary for her merciless persecution of Protestants. Even Mark Twain, author of many outstanding classics, has an opinion about what a classic is . However, a classic novel is a book that offers more discovery after every reread, withstands the reviews of millions of critics, and its readers are able to relate to it, in any day and age. To start, one element that makes a novel a classic is that it offers a continuous amount of discovery after every reread. A classic must offer an ongoing journey of discovery because there are many different story elements in classics such as language, theme, and foreshadowing. These all help the reader to acquire more knowledge about the novel. Unlike pop culture novels, which only offer entertainment, classics help readers learn something. This requires many in depth reads to fully grasp the layers of the novel. Along with that, classics do not tell the readers what is going on. The author of a classic would hint at it with clues hidden in between the lines, after each read, the novel should be pieced together like a puzzle, otherwise, the novel has no true lesson being taught. He kept his thoughts short and to the point, allowing for the important information to be shared with his readers. I agreed with all of his main thoughts, especially when he spoke about his discussion on money and attitudes of the heart; however, there is significant neglect in the area of government regulations throughout the book. In this review I will discuss the good and the neglect. Wayne Grudem starts his book with an introduction to answer the most basic question when it comes to reading this book; is business basically good or evil? (Grudem, 2003) To really understand Grudem and his message it is important to know where the bible and you stand on the answer to that question. But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today. (Deuteronomy 8:18) We are also told multiple times in the Bible to fear not, this fear can put a stop to a business idea or business all together and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tim Winton The Turning Summary Masculinity, the attributes applied to the male gender, has continuously manifested itself within the matrices of literature, with many writers using narrative fiction as a vehicle to explore ideas of the historical underpinnings of manhood, and more generally, alternative constructions of the male ontology and modality. Transcendental notions of masculinity have inevitably constrained the contemporary man within set ideologies and values those which often enforce unrealistic and toxic expectations. This conundrum is especially relevant in Australian society given the stereotypical and diffused archetype of the Aussie Man ; which characteristics such as apathy, nobility and strength forming the bedrock of the national identity. Darwin s Theory Of Evolution Research Paper While it is unfair to observe the relationships between Judaism and the theories surrounding Darwin s evolution as a whole, it is however feasible to analyze evolutionary biology within a highly specific sect and time period of Judaism. Interestingly, the topic of Darwinism and Judaism from the 19th century to the present is an ongoing and subjective debate in the US. Throughout the past few centuries, Judaism has been somewhat split along the issue of whether or not evolution is compatible with Jewish laws and teachings. Some crossover hybrids exist, but very few works of literature can actually be compared to others that are not in the same genre. For example, Robert Browning s My Last Duchess , a dramatic monologue, would very rarely be compared to Edgar Allan Poe s short story The Purloined Letter. While talking with the currier Duke Ferrara declares, I gave commands;/Then all smiles stopped together. There she stands/As if alive. Legal teams do not research sentencing options; they like to sentence an offender to the easiest place to do their time which is the jail. The jail has the amenities that an inmate seeks or wants. They can get a shower, a warm meal, and some clothes free of charge and get released the next day. If they go to prison, the inmate can get all those perks, and get released years later. These inmates that come to prison for small crimes, are causing the prison populations to expand person by person. The cells are not designed more than two people , and the shower can only one body in it at a time and of course the toilet is only designed for buttock at time.
