Globalization Is A New Of Level Of Interdependence
Globalization has produced a new of level of interdependence among us. The economy and
multinational supply chains do not abide by political boundaries. A computer ordered in Brazil is
designed in California and assembled in several other countries. Economic integration was the first
strong evidence of a new era Eduardo Paes. It can be seen now that globalization is something that
cannot be stopped. This process of international integration has come as a result of an interchange
of world views, ideas, product, and other aspects of different cultures. The rapid development of
transportation and telecommunication and furthermore the internet, has boosted globalization
greatly and as a result a greater interdependence of economic and cultural activities. Interdependence
is one the main factors of the economic welfare of the countries. Both regional and international
organizations preach this idea among their member states and this is one of their main objectives.
Nevertheless regional and international organizations have different geographical areas of
operations and different laws which at some cases might result into conflict with each other. Both
the European Unionand NATO, in which I ll focus my essay on, show proof that there might be
cases where the UN s and international law s influence is nullified. I believe that regional
organizations should be in a continuous cooperation with the international organizations, but it
should be regional organizations as the

Marc Antony And The Roman Empire
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
These famous words were spoken by Marc Antony at Julius Caesar s funeral as if to solidify that
Caesar has passed and the Romans should look forward without nostalgia of gone by emperors.
Marc Antony was a leader in the change of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empirethat
spanned thousands of miles in its prime. Born in January of 83 BC to the gens Antonia, which was
a prominent family with both patrician and plebeian ties. His father was Marcus Antonius Creticus,
and his mother was Julia Antonia, a distant relative to Julius Caesar. (Life of Antonius 4.263).
Growing up Antony had many misfortunes with his father dying in Crete in 71 BC, the man... Show

During this campaign through Egypt Antony came to meet Cleopatra for the first time, who at
the time was the 14 year old daughter of Ptolemy XII, it was believed that this meeting between
the two is what sparked Antony s love and desire for Cleopatra. While Antony was fighting in the
East he was unaware of plot by the First Triumvirate to take control of the Republic. Once the
Triumvirate had basically taken over the Republic for themselves Antony came to serve under
Julius Caesar in 54 BC. At this time Caesar was in the middle of his conquest of Gaul during the
Gallic Wars. While under Caesar Antony was noted as an excellent military leader and strategist,
because of this Caesar took notice of Antony and the two became friends until Caesar died. After
years in the conquest of Gaul Antony was sent back to Rome to begin his political career as
Quaestor in 52 BC as a member of the Populares faction. However, still assigned to Caesar s force
Antony returned to Gaul to command the cavalry in the Battle of Alesia against the Gallic High
King Vercingetorix. Antony was eventually promoted to Legate by Caesar and given command of
two legions. While all of this was happening for Antony the alliance between

The Riot, The Pullman Strike, And The Homestead Strike
In the late 1800s and the early 1900s, labor was anything but easy. Factory workers faced long
hours, low pay, high unemployment fears, and poor working conditions during this time. Life today
is much easier in comparison to the late 1800s. Americans have shorter days, bigger pay and easier
working conditions. Not comparable to how life is today, many riots sparked, and citizens began to
fight for equal treatment. Along with other important events, the Haymarket Riot, the Pullman
Strike, and the Homestead strikeall play a vital role in illustrating labor s struggle to gain fair and
equitable treatment during the late 1800s and early 1900s.
Treatment during the late 1800s is much different from how Americans are treated in daily life now.

Overall, in the 1900s workdays were long, pay was small and workers were worked hard. Now,
work days are shortened, the pay is higher, and working conditions are much more ideal. In the
1800s and early 1900s working conditions were much harsher than now. Long hours and small
wages made up a day in the life of someone living in the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The
Haymarket Riot was the result of the bombing in Chicago. In the summer 1886 the campaign for an
eight hour day, long a rallying cry that united American laborers, culminated in a national strike
on May 1, 1886. Between 300,000 and 500,000 workers struck across the country. In Chicago,
police forces killed several workers while breaking up protestors at the McCormick reaper
works. Labor leaders and radicals called for a protest at Haymarket Square the following day,
which police also proceeded to break up. But as they did, a bomb exploded and killed seven
policemen. Police fired into the crowd, killing four. The deaths of the Chicago policemen sparked
outrage across the nation and the sensationalization of the Haymarket Riot helped many Americans
to associate unionism with radicalism (Yawp). As a result of the Haymarket Riot was the loss of
members of the Knight of Labor. The national movement for an eight hour day collapsed (Yawp).

12.Assessing and Nurturing Cognitive Ability
Meanwhile, due to Logan s age I was able to question his performance in school and how it was
relative to his peers. Logan continued to explain, I was nervous and do not talk much. As I
continued to investigate I asked about how well he performs in school. He replied with, it is hard
for me to study and focus, due to his anxiety and stress (R, Logan). Afterward, I asked, compared
to his peers, he told me he feels left out because other students finish homework or tests before me.
He also stated, I am always the last one (R, Logan). These statements concerned me. Although, a
bright child, I understood Logan is feeling anxiety and feeling alone, something that is clearly
affecting the teen.

He uses slang and occasionally uses profanity. Logan does not have a speech impediment. Yes I
would say Logan s vocabulary is relative to his peers. Words that he uses are ma instead of mom

saying what (R, Logan). Formal code of speech is defined as using formal language around and
greeting, like honorifics. Honorifics include using terms like Mr., Mrs., Professor, and Dr.

friends. However, when Logan is around his grandmother he uses formal

Food Stamps Pros And Cons
Is it fair for the people in poverty and on food stamps to receive more than a hard working
citizen? The government gave enough benefits to the people in the food stamp program so that
everyone on food stamps received 60,000 dollars, while the average income for a hard working
American is 50,000 dollars. The definition of food stamps is a voucher issued by the governmentto
those on low income and is exchangeable for food. The government spends over seventy six
billion dollars per year on food stamps. This covers about forty eight million people in America.
The food stamp program is lacking to provide stability for the poverty stricken people of America.
The first ever food stamp program was established during the Great Depression. At this time, prices

is the amount of a households income, with no deductions. The net income is the gross income

deduction for dependent care costs, which includes education, a deduction for child support, a
deduction for elderly and disabled people, and an excess shelter cost deduction. If the deduction is

Requirements in some states are different from other states. For example, the asset requirements

they own. Households can obtain 2,250 dollars in the resources that they have ( Supplemental ).

Hostage Crisis Research Paper
What started as a hostage situation in Sydney, Australia, it ended up as a tragedy with two
hostages and a gunman dead 16 hours after the siege started. The hostage taker was later
identified as Man Haron Monis who U.S Law enforcement said he acted alone. It all happened
early in the morning at a cafГ© where 17 civilians were getting breakfast and Man Haron Monis
decided to take them as a hostages. After 16 long hours of negotiation, the Australia Special Force
and the law enforcement entered the building rescuing the hostages and killing the gunman.
This hostage situation can be considered a barricade siege because the location of the hostages was
known to the authorities. Unlike hijack situations where the hostage taker takes over the

Iphone 7s
It was a regular day at the club in Vegas. As usual everybody is on their phones and not

phone turned into them. Ten years later, mankind is barely hanging on iphones have taken over
nearly all humans. Everyone who has survived is living in bunkers which are highly protected.

The Great Dynasties, Empires, Civilizations, And Nations
The great dynasties, empires, civilizations, and nations are praised heavily by the milestones,
highlights, and achievements. To the extend that they are sometimes turned into films, television,
or documentaries for generations to watch discuss and compare to any literature or research that
exists for people to study. The same is said for the figures and/or leaders that lived and help to
shape the world and environment that is study or functioning still to this day. It would seem that at
times history is studied based upon popularity or where the most documentation exists to study.
Such a statement is not to create an argument that history is unbalanced in focus in terms of
periods of time or geographic location but rather to challenge the focus of where each are studied.
The beginning of a civilization is equally as important as the high times or popular periods, as its
lays the foundation of the potential and promise of the surviving, thriving, and longevity. This is
proven when looking at Numa Pompiliusand what he help to create and establish for the Roman
Empireand the development of Romeitself. The purpose of this paper as mention is a focus on
those who help to develop the civilizations, nations, and empire that are studied today. Numa
Pompilius to a certain extent is a ruler of Rome that is almost forgotten. It is not so much that
there is no literature for someone to read to learn about him, it is more a matter of being
underrated or overlooked due to the other

Rites Of Passage Analysis
Think of a monumental time in your life. Your monumental time in your life is probably different
to an Apache girl, Dachina, and the main character, Martin, in a story the medicine bag. In
Dachina s rite of passage is doing by doing a four day tradition to become a women. During the
four day she has to do stuff like, dance for ten hours straight. Then, in Martin s rite of passagehis
grandpa comes to give him the medicine bag. During this, Grandpa is dying so he has to give
Martin the medicine bag before he dies. In my essay I explain, the similarities and differences
between the two rites of passage. I also explain, the advantages and disadvantages between video
and text.
There are a lot of similarities and differences between the medicine bag and the apache girl. To start
off, a similarity of these two rites of passage are that they are both about a monumental time in the
apache girl, Dachina, and the main character, Martin, in the medicine bag. Like the Dachina s
monumental time in her life is the ritual to become a women. In addition to that, Martin s
monumental time in his life getting the medicine bag from his grandpa. Another similarity
between the two stories it that they both need their family to make the rites of passage possible.
For example, Martin need his grandpa to give him the medicine bag for him to experience getting
the medicine bag. Also, Dachina needs her family to help her to get through the four day ritual
like, they had to help prepare the food for

American Idiot Paraphrase
Green Day s American Idiot is a powerful song which presents to us the bands perspectives on the
many issues faced by American society today. The lyrics are carefully written to create a certain
impact, in which many useful techniques are employed to draw a certain response from the
audience and to aid in getting across the songs key messages or themes.
A commonly used technique in song writing, which is clearly utilized in the creation of American
Idiot , is that of repetition. Throughout the song, there are many lines which the band has
deliberately repeated, such as Don t want to be an American Idiot and all across the alienation .
This technique has been used to emphasize these words and the significant meanings which are
attached to them. Though they may also be repeated for the sake of gathering interest for the song
and its tune, its main use is really to highlight the songs main points and the meanings which it has
of course been constructed to convey. In this instance, it is to portray the Americans as... Show

It is an indirect way of communicating to their listeners; a tool which enables these listeners to
interpret their own meanings from certain aspects of the lyrics. An example of the use of
symbolic language is evident within the last line of the third stanza, in which the statement and
sing along in the age of paranoia has been made. The key word used in this sentence is age ,
which symbolises and points out a particular time or perhaps era. A possible interpretation from
the use of such word is one which criticizes the American people of the songs era, rather than any
other. This, in turn, is saying that it is only the American people around the time of 2004 that are
idiots , suggesting that 2004 and possibly still to this day, American society was within a state of

Jordans are a brand from Nike that sells shoes and sports clothing produced for Michael Jordan.
The shoes where first created for Michael Jordan and he used them in the NBA games but as
style evolved people wear Jordan s for everyday life and they are considered the best shoes

the player s performance. This added value to the shoes as people saw the players wearing them
in the matches and also wanted to buy them as they could help the basketball skills. Also using
professional players the promote your product is very clever as the people considering buying the
product would think that if some that is very good and skilled at basketball and are using these
shoes that means they must be good. This brands personality appeals to me because Jordan has a

that they must have high quality product if they are working with the brand I like so I might as
well try them . Most of the time people would end up like that brand and become a regular customer
and this means that that customer might go on to recommend it to friends and those friends might
have a high role in a different business and the business might start to look at business

The Life Of A Slave Girl By Harriot Jacob
I never really paid attention to slavery as I did right now. I heard, of course, of all the basic
details of it like everyone else and hated the idea of it, but after reading this story, it really hit me
on what slaves went through back in the day. In the novel Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl ,
Harriot Jacob chronically writes about her personal struggles and sufferings and that of her families
throughout the better portion of her life from childhood to adulthood. Throughout this revealing
story, this brave and courageous woman opens my eyes on the extent of the extreme hardships,
unfairness, and cruelty that many slaves have faced and lived through every day and every hour

119). While the men do work from dawn to dusk, they do have the comfort of having rest at
night most of the times. The women however, work all day and are called upon the master and
mistress s every request even during the night, away from their own families. Most mistresses
have women as their child s nurses through the early periods of birth so that the mistress is not
bothered in her sleep by the baby. These women were to be found sleeping on the floor at the
entry of their owners bedroom, ready to be awakened if the child woke up. One person that I
recalled reading that had this unfortunate position was Jacob s aunt. While in the pregnancy of
her own kids, she was required to resume her place on the entry floor, because Mrs. Flint s babe
needed her attentions. (Jacobs, pg. 217). It shows to show that female slaves own needs was not

one of the most difficult hardship many African slaves face because since they are just property

Ask Your Mam 12 Moods For Jazz
Langston Hughes s book, Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz, presents several jazz pieces that
express the suffering African Americans have had to face over many years. The vernacular
tradition in these works, is expressed through the jazz music that plays in the background while
the poems recited (Pasadena City College). The jazz music gives the poems a feeling of Blues,
but also tends to have a more upbeat feeling during certain points of the poems. In Ask Your
Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz, all of the twelve pieces have a connection to each other in various ways.
The connections involve the degree of suffering, money, or success. In Ode to Dinah and Horn of
Plenty, Hughes exhibits all three of these connections, both in similarities and differences.
Suffering is a concept that can be seen through every one of the works in Ask Your Mama: 12
Moods for Jazz. In Ode to Dinah, the suffering component can be seen when Hughes states Even
when you re winning/There s no way not to lose (Hughes 493). For an African American, being able
to reach a goal and provide for your family is very difficult, especially if you are living in
poverty. Poverty is the primary problem in Ode to Dinah. The imagery in the video shows many
pictures of African Americans who are doing jobs that involve a large amount of physical labor
(Pasadena City College). This signifies how much harder African Americans work in comparison to
whites. The African Americans in the video do not look happy, and look as

Comparing The Road Not Taken And Song Of The Open Road
Poems can have many different meanings, some darker and deeper than others, and are concealed
in a puzzle of metaphors and figurative language. The Road Not Taken written by Robert Frost,
The Road at The End written by Carl Sandburg, Song of the Open Road written by Walt Whitman,
and The Journey written by Mary Oliver all have different meanings than first perceived. Song of
the Open Road depicts positive feelings in the protagonist. The RoadNot Taken is a fairly neutral
point of view of life as it is neither positive nor negative. The Journey can be categorized as neutral
as well, but has hints of negativity, and as for The Road at The End, it takes a dark twist as The
End is perceived as the end of life.
As said before, the poem Song of the Open Road is happy with the protagonist exhibiting strong
feelings of confidence throughout the entire first verse by saying Afoot and light hearted I take to
the open road, healthy, free, the world before me, the long brown path before me leading
wherever I choose. The protagonist means that he or she have no dark feelings by following his or

A tarantulaЕ› perceives its surroundings primarily via sensory organs. Touch is its keenest since in
hunting it depends on vibrations giving off by the movements of its prey. A tarantulaЕ› hair and
spine are very sensitive and are used to sense chemical signatures, vibrations, wind direction, and
possibly sound. Tarantula has eyes that are small and are usually set in two rows of four and are
not able to see much more than light, darkness, and motion.
Male tarantulas are bright in color, smaller in size, and are more active than females. Females
tend to be plumper and more relax. It is usually impossible to tell male from female in juvenile
spiders. In adults you need to look right after a molt. At that time, a male will exhibit a structure

travel over a great distance at times, humans who see them sometimes assume they are migrating.

My Father Of The Colonoscopy
In the year 2012, my father in law was having some pain in his side and abdomen, but because
the pain would come and go, he ignored it and blamed it on his career as a mechanic which
required strenuous manual labor. As time went on, the pain continued to worsen, but he put off
any tests because he was about to turn 50 and knew he would be going in for a checkup at that
time. In 2013 he went in for his routine colonoscopy, but we could have never prepared
ourselves for how this test was about to affect all of our lives. My father in law was nervous the
day of the colonoscopy because the pain in his stomach had worsened when he had to flush out
his system before the test could be completed. The doctors assured him that this was normal for
most everybody who had to go through this process, and they seemed very optimistic about the
way the results would turn out. Once the procedure was complete, the doctors informed us that
everything had gone well, but they did find multiple masses in his colon that they had taken
samples of and had sent to pathology to have tested. We were instructed not to worry since this
could be nothing, and they would contact us as soon as they had the results. About a week later
we received the good news that his tests had come back negative, and that he was healthy. We all

Similarities In The Opposition. Ideas Do Not Prove Their
Similarities in the Opposition Ideas do not prove their value until they withstand the challenge of
being questioned. On the surface, professor Craig Martin and anthropologist Clifford Geertz
approach analyzing religion with opposing views. Martin dismisses definitions of religion
claiming that no definition can encompass the practical use of the word and instead provides a
step by step approach to explaining beliefs and actions in the perspective of a methodological
atheist. Geertz, however, provides a working definition broken into a five part model to make it a
useful tool. Upon further analysis of these two methods, the once contradicting ideas begin to work
in unison with each other. Martin s functionalist approach and the definition... Show more content

Martin discusses the uses of the hermeneutics of suspicion for his second step in his approach. He
believes it is important to remain suspicious of the cultural element being examined and presume it
is false. Geertz, in the second part of his definition, states that a system of symbols acts to establish
powerful, pervasive and long lasting moods and motivations in men (Geertz, 1993). This statement
is in agreeance with the suspicious mindset provided by Martin, as Geertz also does not confirm
any religious beliefs to be true. He uses the word acts to show that the cultural elements function in
a specific way, not to prove their factual accuracy. His definition demonstrates the unity of
individual components in a culture and how they function. Both methods do not approach religion
with yes or no questions but rather seek the answer to why it functions in particular ways and how
it continues to exist. In life, there are questions that have answers unable to be proven with facts of
science, which leaves a lot of room up for interpretation. As previously stated, neither Martin nor
Geertz tries to prove religious facts but rather explains them in terms of how they function in the
practical world. Martin s last step in the methodological atheist approach is to provide a
functionalist explanation as to why the cultural element persists in societies. In investigating this
function, Martin must analyze all parts of Geertz s definition. The

Reflection Of Charcot Foot
A REFLECTION ON CHARCOT FOOT AND THE VARIOUS ORTHOTIC TREATMENT
THEREOF
Charcot foot is a condition in which the bones, joints, and soft tissues of the foot become
deformed, ensuing in a fully deformed foot and ankle. Due to the weakness of the bones, fractures
will develop as well as joint dislocation. It is most common in patients with peripheral neuropathy
who are unable to identify or feel the dislocation or fracture.
The peripheral neuropathy arises from Diabetes mellitus in most cases, but can also result from
poliomyelitis, excessive alcohol and drug abuse, mistreated infections, distress to the nerves, and
even Parkinson s disease. Neuropathy is nerve damage which results in no sensation in affected
areas. Another cause of Charcot ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is also known as offloading . Offloading is a non operative treatment option. The patient will
be required to use or wear a walking brace, an orthosis, a cast, or a protective splint. Another form
of non surgical treatment is a casting. Charcot can be treated by using a cast around affected area to
reduce swelling, protect the foot and ankle and to allow for healing to take place. When a patient
is in a cast he or she must not put weight on the cast as this could distort the healing process.
While in a cast, a patient can use a wheelchair or crutches to aid them for mobility in important
daily activities. Healing can last up to several months. However, the cast must be changed every
one to two weeks to ensure it fits the patient comfortably as the swelling diminishes. A custom
walking boot or orthosis, or a diabetic shoe may be recommended after the swelling is decreased
to normal and bones are healed fully. These boots are designed to minimize the risk of foot ulcers
developing post treatment. After the cast is removed, the patient will be prescribed to an orthotic
shoe that appropriately fits their foot and relieves pressure at certain points. Bracing can be

Analysis Of Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldua
Speaking of Texas U.S. Southwest/Mexican border, the first thing appears in many people s mind
is a horizontal line with US on the upper side and Mexico on the lower, as depicted in maps.
However, in reality, a border serves more than just to separate states. In many occasions, it
witnesses and bridges social networks that stretch across border. These two functions seem to
contradict each other but in fact they exactly reflect the complex nature of borders, or, more
realistically, borderlands, a term coined to uproot in people the misleading image of a line. In her
book Borderlands, the author Gloria Anzaldua, as a descendent of Indians and Mexicans living
close to the America Mexico border in Southern Texas, defies such dualistic and simplistic thinking
about the border/double sided or multi sided dilemma, suggesting a new mestiza consciousness , a

Essay on Enron and its Shortcomings
Enron s overall business practices are not ethical. One business practice of Enron that I think
poses an ethical issue is their attitude towards its employees. They create a highly competitive
and a result oriented business atmosphere. They used a system where they would rank employees
every half a year and fire employees who ranked on the bottom 1/5 of the scores. This kind of
attitude where only results matter and if you don t produce anything good you will get fired will
only hurtthe company. This promotes unethical behavior and getting what needs to be done to get
good results no matter what and if you do well you will receive big bonuses. This approach
towards Enron s employees did not have very good utilitarian reasoning. This... Show more content

All the borrowing from the creditors just put Enron in more debt.
The practice that Enron did violate the human right to be informed, is not just, and just didn t have
good utilitarian reasoning. They did not inform the shareholders, the employees, and the creditors
about their practices or what the real picture was. The practices in accounting was not fair because
they were not really working with money they actually had and kept doing business when other
businesses in their position would, and should, re evaluate how their business is run. The benefits
and costs were not fairly distributed, this is because while most everyone that dealt with lost money
in Enron when it collapsed the top management won out because they new what was going to
happen so they sold massive amounts of shares of the company. Overall Enron didn t solve any
ethical dilemmas and they had unethical practices.
Social responsibility means that a corporation should be accountable for any of its actions that
people, their communities, and their environments. Enron fell victim to the iron law or
responsibility because they were not socially responsible for their actions. In the long run Enron
lost its power in the world from being one of the most powerful companies to a company that had
shares worth less than one dollar and having their bonds turn into junk bonds. Enron was not able
to forgo profits and take on losses so the social impact they had seriously hurt all other

Censorship In Young Adult Literature
While reading the assigned chapters of the textbook I found many points interesting and
informative. The first portion that caught my attention involved how to incorporate both young
adult literature and the classics into a curriculum. A very interesting metaphor was used to
describe why adolescents shouldn t read the classics. I was really able to relate to the idea of
how well written young adult literature can encourage students to read and can possibly lead to
reading the classics. I think that it is a great idea to pair a young adult book with a classic in
order to engage reading as well as help address certain points of the classic. This idea plays well
with how to encourage reluctant readers to want to read, which is the next point I will discuss.
A reluctant reader is something that most teachers will have to deal with at some point in their
career. It can be very difficult for some students to get into the habit of reading for pleasure, it is
also common for avid readers to be in a stage where they just do not want to read. This is a
situation that I can relate to very strongly seeing as I love to read but sometimes find myself in a
reading slump, where I struggle to motivate myself... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Personally, I had never heard the term censorship used in relation to literature, and that made this
section all the more interesting to me. Censorship is used to describe when individuals, such as
librarians or teachers, find certain ideas and information dangerous or objectionable to readers.
People examine books, films, dramas, and television to determine and suppress information they
find offensive. These ideas are practiced by teachers and librarians when finding books for
adolescents to read. Books that involve offensive language, violence, sexism, or substance abuse are
often not considered to be appropriate for young adults, therefore they are not included in many

Essay On Schizophrenics
For the cause of this illness, researches strongly believe that genetics and brain chemistry and the
schizophrenics environments contribute to development of this kind of mental disorder.
Firstly, the main cause of schizophrenia is genetic. Due to research to family members of the
patients with Schizophrenia, we usually have risk to get schizophrenia is about 5% among the
relatives who have this illness compared to general population. For twins, the identical twins have
40% to 65% chances of developing this illness while fraternal twins have 14% 17% chance of
having schizophrenia. Next, for the someone who has Schizophrenic parents, one has 12%
potential to have this mental illness. However, it can increase to 46% to 50% if both of his parents
are affected. The close genetic relationship to a patient with Schizophrenic are riskier to have
schizophrenia compared to distant genetic relationships. The relatives of Schizophrenic were often
contaminated by hereditary mental disease (Bleuler). Baby of a Schizophrenic mother s still have
the risk to have Schizophrenia eventhough the baby is isolated from his/her mother after the birth to
avoid the Schizophrenia environment.

One of the most common errors noted in coding for gastroenterology includes miscoding
colonoscopy procedures for asymptomatic patients in terms of the nature of the screening and
whether it should be coded as a surveillance or screening colonoscopy. The immense scope of
payable categories within the field requires a broad familiarity with new and updated codes in
order to deter denials and protect reimbursements. Even supply items can be cause for rejection
if coders are not current with guidelines. One of the most rejected supply claims includes a PEG
J being claimed to the wrong jurisdiction in such cases as when used to establish a
transabdominal port by endoscopic procedure. PEG Js must be claimed as a supply to the A/B

The new demands created by ICD 10 for increased documentation and specificity require an

Descriptive Essay About A Happy Place In The Sea
I take a deep breath, my nostrils are filled with the pleasant aroma of the salty sea air. This is my
happy place, this is where I belong. As I sit with my freshly painted pink toes in the sand, I am
overwhelmed with all that is happening around me. To my right, there is a family of four; a
mother, father, and two little red headed girls that look like twins, laughing and jumping around,
taking in the big world around them. The children are in their bright red and purple flowered
bathing suits, running and screaming, attempting to get their toes wet in the chilly water that
churns back and forth on the shore. After a few attempts they decide to run and jump full force
into the crystal clear abyss, unaware of what creatures they could find if they dive deep enough.
To the left of me, I see an older couple, books in hand, enjoying the relaxing evening under their
bright, multicolor striped beach umbrella and green folding chairs that have palm trees sewn on
the back. The man leans over and soon enough the lady begins to laugh at what he has said.
Further down I can see a boy in blue and white striped swim trunks and his dog playing fetch near
the shore. The dog is brown with a mix of white around his back. Each time the boy throws the
bouncy blue ball, the dog is more and more eager to retrieve it for his owner. After a few throws,
the next one goes farther than the others, causing the dog to dive into the water. He seems to enjoy
the way the cool water feels on his fur

It is clear that Donaldson has a lack of cultural understanding and sensitivity , for us this means, he
is unaware of the cultural variables that can affect management decisions and he is not realizing
how much he is affecting Waterhouse projects, the company itself, other individual culture and his
leadership is also tainted and a number of sub issues become evident. At the same time Donaldson
never remember or realized that in every culture ( in this case the European) there are different sub
cultures and each one has different morals, goals, traditions, beliefs as well as different ways of
doing business and its expectations and they just conform only in varying degrees the national
culture.
The communication problems caused for the context of the communication were also very
important, because the European staff from Argos was formed by people from different European
countries and in some of them it is considered to have the lowest ranking communication context,
closely followed by other European countries, this means that nothing is implied from the message,
as everything will be clearly detailed. So the higher up the context ranking you go the more
information becomes implicit and if Donaldson would have consider that the multiple choice
survey wouldn t have been inappropriate and Donaldson could have all the required info.

Children Dealing with Life and Death
Most children ponder the thought of what life would be like without their parents. They imagine
how amazing and fun a life filled with jokes and no rules would be. Not even having to go to
school if you did not want to. Except this is not how life works. When a parent dies and the
reality sets in, it quickly shows us that life is not all fun and games. The death of a parentis a
devastating reality for any young child to bare. This abrupt reality may have long lasting effects
as each child has their own unique way of perceiving life s events. In the blink of an eye ones
world may be completely twisted around. This kind of tragedy has the ability to shape a child in

Another type of death is one by tragedy that can be unexpected and can be more devastating than
prolonged death in that it occurs suddenly and without notice. More often than not parents die
unexpectedly and their children are left behind in a big scary world with no guidelines on how to
survive. In part this is because parents do not expect to die while their child or children are still
young. Planning ahead for the future can be difficult for parents emotionally as well as
culturally and in some cases even financially. Initially when a parent dies it seems as if they have
all the support in the world by people who love them. Most people seem to think that after a year
or more children should be well adjusted, happy and have made it through their traumatic loss. A
child s perspective may seem different in fact they may feel more alone. A child named Abby had
this to say about that topic The pain got worse! Because the initial shock wears off, people stop
coming to your house, and you are left....with yourself (Simon, Johnson 49). What most people do
not realize is that they still are not okay.
No one can completely prepare for the unknown when a child loses a parent no one can predict
how each child will grieve. The caretaker of the child who is grieving has the responsibility of
trying to understand the child s thoughts or questions. When a child s parent has died adjusting to a
new way of life can be extremely difficult

The Automotive Industry Is Characterised By High Levels Of...
The automotive industry is characterised by high levels of uncertainty, creating difficulties for
companies to follow prescriptive strategies. Many factors contribute to this unpredictability.
Pertinently, the financial crisis created instability: between 2008 2009 the Western automobile
market worth fell by $300billion. Damaging profitability and cash flows, creating excess supply.
In 2007 worldwide production capacity of cars was over 70million although demand was less than
60million (De Moraes, 2016).
Growing environmental concern and pressures for car companies to undertake sustainable practices
has led to uncertainty (De Moraes, 2016). Movement in regulation and consumer preferences
towards environmentally friendly production has a cost burden (Hirsh, Kakkar, Singh and Wilk,
2015). Encouraging companies to misrepresent data; Volkswagen falsified emissions tests (The
Economist, 2015a).
Natural resource prices driven by regulative forces external to the automotive industry are another
source of uncertainty; 2009 onwards saw spiralling fuel prices, increasing the cost of
manufacturing and decreasing demand for vehicles (De Moraes, 2016). Conversely, current oil
prices are plummeting. When oil prices were high, consumers purchased economical vehicles.
However, lower prices have renewed demand for fuel inefficient larger cars. These cyclical trends
foster demand uncertainties (The Economist, 2014).
Car industries are domestically important, providing employment,

The Fast Lane Infrared Bubble Toy Helicopter
1.Introduction
Engineers adapt engineering design process to plan as well as consider different relevant
variables in different design stages in order to create a pragmatic product. Also, according to Ertas
(1996), the engineering design is defined as the decision making process in different scientific
ways to meet desired needs within stated objectives. A good designer who should take into account
in different design issues and relevant factors during the process of engineering design which can
help to put concepts and ideas into products in effective ways.
In this essay, I would like to choose a toy called The Fast Lane Infrared Bubble Helicopter to talk
about three factors that might affect the conceptual design, the preliminary design or the detailed
design.
This essay mainly divides into five parts. They are the introduction, safety factors, economic
concerns, human factors and ergonomics as well as conclusion.
2.Safety Factors
Safety factor is one of the important factors that we should consider in engineering design process
especially for toy industry. According to Ng Tyson (2014) lecture 7, failure to meet the safety
requirements, regulations and standards may cause serious result in lawsuits for damage under the
product liability laws. Also, brand names would be seriously affected by the issue. Therefore,
design engineers must consider the above consequences seriously. They must pay attention to
minimize safety issues and the threat of litigation in

I have majored in Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) for one and a half years at Virginia

When I got into NUAA, I entered an Honors Program, which offers students a chance to choose

The Dangers Of Mass Shootings
Mass Shootings
There is no question that mass shootings are happening more frequently. The question is are they
happening to often? They have become more common, but have always been a problem in the
world. Shootings have been happening since the invention of guns, but as we come closer to our
era mass shootings have been happening more regularly. These shootings need to be stopped and
put an end to. But how can we as a whole all come together and put an end to it? The statistics and
facts that are going to be used give valid reasons to where the shootings take place, how it happens
and the number of casualties and lives taken from these shootings.
Mass shootings have recently become more frequent and more deadly over the years. Living in
the U.S. we have lived through at least fifty years of mass shootings and a variation of tragedies.
A mass shooting is when a gunman shoots or kills four or more people in the same general time
and location. The three most deadly shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in the past ten years
are Las Vegas attack (at least 58 killed), Virgina Tech massacre (32 killed), Orlando nightclub
shooting(49 dead) (Willingham). These shootings exemplify the lack of control that we have over
guns and the type of people that have possession of the guns. If we want to try to control the type
of people who can own a gun, then the government should keep updated on the people who buy
bigger guns with more rounds and do mental background checks. The researchers also found that
most mass murderers suffered from some mental instability, though they usually weren t flagged
by mental health specialists or law enforcement. And military style rifles were used in 18 of the 66
mass public shootings in the most recent 15 year period the researchers studied (Shastry, Anjali). If
a person has possession a military style rifle that should automatically redflag the government.
Some of the main reasons that these things happen are because the government or law
enforcement don t keep tabs on these people. Media today plays a big part in the mass shootings
believe it or not. Media contagion is largely responsible for the increase in these often deadly
outbursts (Media Contagion). By showing the number

after Jefferson had left. In the words of Jefferson, this is how much he loved his macaronni

Naples: but in almost every shop a different sort of flour is commonly used; for, provided the
flour be of a good quality, and not ground extremely fine, it will always do very well. A paste is
made with flour, water and less yeast than is used for making bread. This paste is then put, by

which is perforated with holes, through which the paste, when pressed by the screw DEF,

The Brink of Beauty Essay
When most pageant parents are asked about their reasons for having their child partake in beauty
pageants, their responses are predictable. Their kid wants to; they genuinely enjoy being in
pageants, which is understandable. What kid doesn t love attention? Another response is that their
child can showcase their talents, such as singing, dancing, and looking pretty. The winners of these
pageants also often receive cash prizes, although they typically don t add up to the amount of
money the parents spend on the preparation for the pageant itself. These are valid responses,
however, skeptics believe there are other reasons as well. It is believed that, many parents live
vicariously through their children so as to accomplish the things they... Show more content on

Now they are trying to squeeze them into their children. That s true abuse, they are not taking care
of their own desires and ambitions, they have no hobbies. Their hobby is their kid. Of course this
is not true of all pageant parents, but children deserve to live their own lives, not their parents lives.
They all have rights, and they all have the right to do and think for themselves.
Participating in such competition deprives the children of their childhood and makes them eager to
grow up. This urgency can make them imitate the habits of adults and act inappropriately for
their age. These children grow up with the misconception that the only way to be successful is
to be beautiful (Maliakal). What about being a kid? Looking and acting like an adult should be
reserved for when they actually become an adult. In a newspaper article, students petitioned to
ban this TV show, claiming it to be creepy, saying, I was completely disgusted. Just the way they
seem to be sexualizing the toddlers... the way they gyrate their hips, the way they open their
mouths, the way they pucker their lips at the camera and judges (Fragomeni). Keep in mind that
only a small percentage of people take into account what it is they are actually watching. Young
girls see shows such as Toddlers Tiaras very differently from women of older ages. They see girls

Effects of the Cotton Gin
Effects of the Cotton Gin
!
!
!
Eli Whitney invented the Cotton Gin around 1763. At the time he invented the
engine Whitney lived with Catherine Greene, a widowed plantation owner. While staying with
Greene, Whitney learned a lot about the production of cotton. He learned it was a tedious, time
consuming and labor intensive job. Whitney was a graduate of Yale and was talented in the п¬Ѓeld
of mechanics and inventive engineering. Eli s solution was simple, an engine that separated the
cotton after it was picked. The gin would assist farmers who had a difficulty making a living off
of the crop because of the work that went into harvesting. Some history experts have shared the idea
that Catherine Greene actually came up with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
South Carolina was the number one producer of cotton in the United States, and they were also the
п¬Ѓrst to secede. The issue of slavery and the division it caused between the North and the South
was a negative affect of the cotton gin. !
!
In conclusion, the cotton gin successfully increased the production of cotton. The
gin lessened the burden of harvesting the crop, making it more profitable to the farmers.
As the cotton gin evolved, the profits gained by the farmers increased exponentially. The gin had
a positive lucrative effect on the farmers and plantation owners of the South. As production
increased, the demand for labor became significant. The southern farmers now had the money to
buy slaves which then assisted in further increasing cotton production. The Southern economy was
booming a century after the gin was invented.
The North did not appreciate that the southern farmers maintained slavery, which led to
significant political issues. Eventually the southern states sought to secede from the
Union. South Carolina, the leading producer of cotton, led the secession. The cotton gin had a
tremendous affect on the Southern economy. This resulted in an increase of wealth and power
throughout the South which was not well received by the North. The increase production of cotton,
resulting from the cotton gin was a primary factor in the division between the North and the South.
The impact of the cotton gin was not just

No Color Barrier in Mark Twain s The Adventures of...
No Color Barrier in the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn I felt so lonesome I most wished I was
dead (221). Mark Twain s, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, is a tale about a boy in search for a
family and a place he can truly call home. Through his adventure, he rids himself of a father that
is deemed despicable by society, and he gains a father that society hasn t even deemed as a man.
This lonely and depressed young boy only finds true happiness when he is befriended with a slave
named Jim. Although Huck Finn was born and raised into a racially oppressive society, it is
through his personal growth that he realizes that the color of skin does not make a man, and he
finds a father and true... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here s Huck [...] he hain t got no family [...]. They was going to rule me out because they said
every boy must have a family [...]. I was most ready to cry (224). This feeling of disparity and
loneliness is reiterated to the reader because Huck will only be content as he befriends Jim.
Huck is raised in a truly racist slave state and through his ignorance, like the rest of society that
surrounds him, he does not see black people as equals, and he refers to Jim as merely a piece of
property. Miss Watson s big [slave], named Jim (222). Twain clearly implies Huck s view of
superiority over Jim, as Huck complains that Jim is no longer a useful slave because he gossips
too much. Jim said the witches bewitched him and put him in a trance [....slaves] would come
moles to hear Jim tell about it [...]. Jim was most ruined for a servant, because he got so stuck up
on account of having seen the devil and been rode by witches (223). Twain depicts this view from
Huck, so the reader had a reference point for Huck s personal growth throughout the tale. He then
continues to show the reader that Huck has no regards for Jim as Huck asks Jim to tell him his
fortune, but he refuses to give Jim any money for

The Effect Of Shear Force On The Diameter Of The Rod Essay
Lab # 1 Christian Axios Submitted: October, 4 2016 By: Christian Axios Partner: Coby Bryant
Reviewed by: Connor Shoening Section: 27 I.Abstract: Over the course of the last few weeks
my lab partner and I have conducted tests on different material of metal rods. During this time,
we collected data regarding the stress and strain of the given materials and were able to come up
with a report including statements about the significance and importance of their designated
yield strength. II.Introduction: The purpose of this experiment was to determine the relation of
affect that the shear force has based on the diameter of the rod. In order to find the double shear
stress and since the lab procedure was based on a shear stress conducted on both sides, we were
able to divide our answer by two for the result. The second part of the lab was to find the mean
modulus of rigidity based on the two weeks of results followed by the calculation of each of the
changing variables such as diameter and material. To get the angle of twist we used the formula:
(1) We used this equation along with the force and displacement data to determine the normal
stress of the rod when it was axially loaded. P is the applied load and A is the cross sectional area
of our sample.(2) This next equation was used to find the strain. This result is calculated in order to
find the ratio of the change in length to the original length. ____ is the amount of

The economy and multinational supply chains do not abide by political boundaries. A computer ordered in Brazil is designed in California and assembled in several other countries. Economic integration was the first strong evidence of a new era Eduardo Paes. It can be seen now that globalization is something that cannot be stopped. This process of international integration has come as a result of an interchange of world views, ideas, product, and other aspects of different cultures. The rapid development of transportation and telecommunication and furthermore the internet, has boosted globalization greatly and as a result a greater interdependence of economic and cultural activities. Interdependence is one the main factors of the economic welfare of the countries. Both regional and international organizations preach this idea among their member states and this is one of their main objectives. Nevertheless regional and international organizations have different geographical areas of operations and different laws which at some cases might result into conflict with each other. Both the European Unionand NATO, in which I ll focus my essay on, show proof that there might be cases where the UN s and international law s influence is nullified. Once the Triumvirate had basically taken over the Republic for themselves Antony came to serve under Julius Caesar in 54 BC. Factory workers faced long hours, low pay, high unemployment fears, and poor working conditions during this time. Life today is much easier in comparison to the late 1800s. Americans have shorter days, bigger pay and easier working conditions. Not comparable to how life is today, many riots sparked, and citizens began to fight for equal treatment. In the 1800s and early 1900s working conditions were much harsher than now. Long hours and small wages made up a day in the life of someone living in the late 1800s to the early 1900s. The Haymarket Riot was the result of the bombing in Chicago. In the summer 1886 the campaign for an eight hour day, long a rallying cry that united American laborers, culminated in a national strike on May 1, 1886. Between 300,000 and 500,000 workers struck across the country. In Chicago, police forces killed several workers while breaking up protestors at the McCormick reaper works. Labor leaders and radicals called for a protest at Haymarket Square the following day, which police also proceeded to break up. But as they did, a bomb exploded and killed seven policemen. Police fired into the crowd, killing four. To the extend that they are sometimes turned into films, television, or documentaries for generations to watch discuss and compare to any literature or research that exists for people to study. The same is said for the figures and/or leaders that lived and help to shape the world and environment that is study or functioning still to this day. It would seem that at times history is studied based upon popularity or where the most documentation exists to study. Such a statement is not to create an argument that history is unbalanced in focus in terms of periods of time or geographic location but rather to challenge the focus of where each are studied. The beginning of a civilization is equally as important as the high times or popular periods, as its lays the foundation of the potential and promise of the surviving, thriving, and longevity. This is proven when looking at Numa Pompiliusand what he help to create and establish for the Roman Empireand the development of Romeitself. The purpose of this paper as mention is a focus on those who help to develop the civilizations, nations, and empire that are studied today. Your monumental time in your life is probably different to an Apache girl, Dachina, and the main character, Martin, in a story the medicine bag. In Dachina s rite of passage is doing by doing a four day tradition to become a women. During the four day she has to do stuff like, dance for ten hours straight. Then, in Martin s rite of passagehis grandpa comes to give him the medicine bag. During this, Grandpa is dying so he has to give Martin the medicine bag before he dies. In my essay I explain, the similarities and differences between the two rites of passage. I also explain, the advantages and disadvantages between video and text. There are a lot of similarities and differences between the medicine bag and the apache girl. To start off, a similarity of these two rites of passage are that they are both about a monumental time in the apache girl, Dachina, and the main character, Martin, in the medicine bag. Like the Dachina s monumental time in her life is the ritual to become a women. In addition to that, Martin s monumental time in his life getting the medicine bag from his grandpa. Another similarity between the two stories it that they both need their family to make the rites of passage possible. For example, Martin need his grandpa to give him the medicine bag for him to experience getting the medicine bag. The lyrics are carefully written to create a certain impact, in which many useful techniques are employed to draw a certain response from the audience and to aid in getting across the songs key messages or themes. A commonly used technique in song writing, which is clearly utilized in the creation of American Idiot , is that of repetition. Throughout the song, there are many lines which the band has deliberately repeated, such as Don t want to be an American Idiot and all across the alienation . This technique has been used to emphasize these words and the significant meanings which are attached to them. The women however, work all day and are called upon the master and mistress s every request even during the night, away from their own families. Most mistresses have women as their child s nurses through the early periods of birth so that the mistress is not bothered in her sleep by the baby. These women were to be found sleeping on the floor at the entry of their owners bedroom, ready to be awakened if the child woke up. One person that I recalled reading that had this unfortunate position was Jacob s aunt. While in the pregnancy of her own kids, she was required to resume her place on the entry floor, because Mrs. Flint s babe needed her attentions. (Jacobs, pg. 217). It shows to show that female slaves own needs was not even thought of at all and was shown no respect. They were treated like animals without even a proper bed to sleep on while their owners slept peacefully away, undisturbed. Ask Your Mam 12 Moods For Jazz Langston Hughes s book, Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz, presents several jazz pieces that express the suffering African Americans have had to face over many years. The vernacular tradition in these works, is expressed through the jazz music that plays in the background while the poems recited (Pasadena City College). The jazz music gives the poems a feeling of Blues, but also tends to have a more upbeat feeling during certain points of the poems. In Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz, all of the twelve pieces have a connection to each other in various ways. The connections involve the degree of suffering, money, or success. In Ode to Dinah and Horn of Plenty, Hughes exhibits all three of these connections, both in similarities and differences. Suffering is a concept that can be seen through every one of the works in Ask Your Mama: 12 Moods for Jazz. In Ode to Dinah, the suffering component can be seen when Hughes states Even when you re winning/There s no way not to lose (Hughes 493). For an African American, being able to reach a goal and provide for your family is very difficult, especially if you are living in poverty. Poverty is the primary problem in Ode to Dinah. The Road Not Taken written by Robert Frost, The Road at The End written by Carl Sandburg, Song of the Open Road written by Walt Whitman, and The Journey written by Mary Oliver all have different meanings than first perceived. Song of the Open Road depicts positive feelings in the protagonist. The RoadNot Taken is a fairly neutral point of view of life as it is neither positive nor negative. The Journey can be categorized as neutral as well, but has hints of negativity, and as for The Road at The End, it takes a dark twist as The End is perceived as the end of life. In 2013 he went in for his routine colonoscopy, but we could have never prepared ourselves for how this test was about to affect all of our lives. My father in law was nervous the day of the colonoscopy because the pain in his stomach had worsened when he had to flush out his system before the test could be completed. The doctors assured him that this was normal for most everybody who had to go through this process, and they seemed very optimistic about the way the results would turn out. On the surface, professor Craig Martin and anthropologist Clifford Geertz approach analyzing religion with opposing views. Martin dismisses definitions of religion claiming that no definition can encompass the practical use of the word and instead provides a step by step approach to explaining beliefs and actions in the perspective of a methodological atheist. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Martin discusses the uses of the hermeneutics of suspicion for his second step in his approach. He believes it is important to remain suspicious of the cultural element being examined and presume it is false. Geertz, in the second part of his definition, states that a system of symbols acts to establish powerful, pervasive and long lasting moods and motivations in men (Geertz, 1993). This statement is in agreeance with the suspicious mindset provided by Martin, as Geertz also does not confirm any religious beliefs to be true. He uses the word acts to show that the cultural elements function in a specific way, not to prove their factual accuracy. His definition demonstrates the unity of individual components in a culture and how they function. Both methods do not approach religion with yes or no questions but rather seek the answer to why it functions in particular ways and how it continues to exist. In life, there are questions that have answers unable to be proven with facts of science, which leaves a lot of room up for interpretation. As previously stated, neither Martin nor Geertz tries to prove religious facts but rather explains them in terms of how they function in the practical world. • 20. Analysis Of Borderlands By Gloria Anzaldua Speaking of Texas U.S. Southwest/Mexican border, the first thing appears in many people s mind is a horizontal line with US on the upper side and Mexico on the lower, as depicted in maps. However, in reality, a border serves more than just to separate states. In many occasions, it witnesses and bridges social networks that stretch across border. These two functions seem to contradict each other but in fact they exactly reflect the complex nature of borders, or, more realistically, borderlands, a term coined to uproot in people the misleading image of a line. In her book Borderlands, the author Gloria Anzaldua, as a descendent of Indians and Mexicans living close to the America Mexico border in Southern Texas, defies such dualistic and simplistic thinking about the border/double sided or multi sided dilemma, suggesting a new mestiza consciousness , a tolerance of ambiguity and a way of creating new personal culturefrom her accounting with all three cultures, as opposed to adopting only one of them without independent thinking and confronting against the rest. This new way of thinking stems from the reality of borderlands but instead of stopping there the author expands its application to establishing both cultural and sexual identities. The first portion that caught my attention involved how to incorporate both young adult literature and the classics into a curriculum. A very interesting metaphor was used to describe why adolescents shouldn t read the classics. I was really able to relate to the idea of how well written young adult literature can encourage students to read and can possibly lead to reading the classics. At the same time Donaldson never remember or realized that in every culture ( in this case the European) there are different sub cultures and each one has different morals, goals, traditions, beliefs as well as different ways of doing business and its expectations and they just conform only in varying degrees the national culture. The communication problems caused for the context of the communication were also very important, because the European staff from Argos was formed by people from different European countries and in some of them it is considered to have the lowest ranking communication context, closely followed by other European countries, this means that nothing is implied from the message, as everything will be clearly detailed. Another type of death is one by tragedy that can be unexpected and can be more devastating than prolonged death in that it occurs suddenly and without notice. More often than not parents die unexpectedly and their children are left behind in a big scary world with no guidelines on how to survive. In part this is because parents do not expect to die while their child or children are still young. Planning ahead for the future can be difficult for parents emotionally as well as culturally and in some cases even financially. Initially when a parent dies it seems as if they have all the support in the world by people who love them. Most people seem to think that after a year or more children should be well adjusted, happy and have made it through their traumatic loss. A child s perspective may seem different in fact they may feel more alone. A child named Abby had this to say about that topic The pain got worse! Because the initial shock wears off, people stop coming to your house, and you are left....with yourself (Simon, Johnson 49). What most people do not realize is that they still are not okay. No one can completely prepare for the unknown when a child loses a parent no one can predict how each child will grieve. The caretaker of the child who is grieving has the responsibility of trying to understand the child s thoughts or questions. • 32. The Automotive Industry Is Characterised By High Levels Of... The automotive industry is characterised by high levels of uncertainty, creating difficulties for companies to follow prescriptive strategies. Many factors contribute to this unpredictability. Pertinently, the financial crisis created instability: between 2008 2009 the Western automobile market worth fell by $300billion. Damaging profitability and cash flows, creating excess supply. In 2007 worldwide production capacity of cars was over 70million although demand was less than 60million (De Moraes, 2016). Growing environmental concern and pressures for car companies to undertake sustainable practices has led to uncertainty (De Moraes, 2016). Movement in regulation and consumer preferences towards environmentally friendly production has a cost burden (Hirsh, Kakkar, Singh and Wilk, 2015). Encouraging companies to misrepresent data; Volkswagen falsified emissions tests (The Economist, 2015a). Natural resource prices driven by regulative forces external to the automotive industry are another source of uncertainty; 2009 onwards saw spiralling fuel prices, increasing the cost of manufacturing and decreasing demand for vehicles (De Moraes, 2016). Conversely, current oil prices are plummeting. When oil prices were high, consumers purchased economical vehicles. However, lower prices have renewed demand for fuel inefficient larger cars. These cyclical trends foster demand uncertainties (The Economist, 2014). Car industries are domestically important, providing employment, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 38. The Dangers Of Mass Shootings Mass Shootings There is no question that mass shootings are happening more frequently. The question is are they happening to often? They have become more common, but have always been a problem in the world. Shootings have been happening since the invention of guns, but as we come closer to our era mass shootings have been happening more regularly. These shootings need to be stopped and put an end to. But how can we as a whole all come together and put an end to it? The statistics and facts that are going to be used give valid reasons to where the shootings take place, how it happens and the number of casualties and lives taken from these shootings. Mass shootings have recently become more frequent and more deadly over the years. Living in the U.S. we have lived through at least fifty years of mass shootings and a variation of tragedies. A mass shooting is when a gunman shoots or kills four or more people in the same general time and location. The three most deadly shootings that have occurred in the U.S. in the past ten years are Las Vegas attack (at least 58 killed), Virgina Tech massacre (32 killed), Orlando nightclub shooting(49 dead) (Willingham). These shootings exemplify the lack of control that we have over guns and the type of people that have possession of the guns. If we want to try to control the type of people who can own a gun, then the government should keep updated on the people who buy bigger guns with more rounds and do mental background checks. The researchers also found that most mass murderers suffered from some mental instability, though they usually weren t flagged by mental health specialists or law enforcement. And military style rifles were used in 18 of the 66 mass public shootings in the most recent 15 year period the researchers studied (Shastry, Anjali). If a person has possession a military style rifle that should automatically redflag the government. Some of the main reasons that these things happen are because the government or law enforcement don t keep tabs on these people. Media today plays a big part in the mass shootings believe it or not. Media contagion is largely responsible for the increase in these often deadly outbursts (Media Contagion). By showing the number ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This paste is then put, by little at a time, viz. about 5. or 6. lb. each time into a round iron box ABC, the under part of which is perforated with holes, through which the paste, when pressed by the screw DEF, comes out, and forms the Maccaroni g.g.g. which, when sufficiently long, are cut and spread to dry. During this time, we collected data regarding the stress and strain of the given materials and were able to come up with a report including statements about the significance and importance of their designated yield strength. II.Introduction: The purpose of this experiment was to determine the relation of affect that the shear force has based on the diameter of the rod. In order to find the double shear stress and since the lab procedure was based on a shear stress conducted on both sides, we were able to divide our answer by two for the result. The second part of the lab was to find the mean modulus of rigidity based on the two weeks of results followed by the calculation of each of the changing variables such as diameter and material. To get the angle of twist we used the formula: (1) We used this equation along with the force and displacement data to determine the normal stress of the rod when it was axially loaded.
