Lecture 5 Strengths And Disadvantages Of The Articles Of...
Lecture 5 Articles vs Constitution
The Articles of Confederation constructed a national government that had military power, elected
officials, power to declare war, and even the power to manage indian relations. It took many
complaints, and conflicts to ratify the Articles of Confederation. It has a certain structure, and many
weaknesses. On the other hand, the Constitution was also opposed, but accepted as well, and it is
ratified. A federal constitution was first proposed on June 12, 1176, when the Second Continental
Congress called for a thirteen man committee to draw it. It became known as the articles of
confederation the following November, and was turned in to the states for its approval. John
Dickinson was the main contributor to the Articles of confederation. He called it a League of
Friendship .The Articles took 5 years to get approved by all 13 states, and were ratified until March 1,
1781. The length taken to ratify the Articles was seen as a lack in common unity. There was complaint
that states with land could use their tracts to pay money for common cause. It seemed logical that the
western area be given to the central government to get rid of land for common benefit . There was a
problem with landed estates, which had land west of the Appalachians, and the landless states, which
boundaries were defined. It became an even bigger problem with the proclamation line of 1763. The
landless states said that land that was debated about should be shared by all

Symbolism In The Invisible Man
1. The chief difference between Wyeth s painting and Wall s photography is that the former acts as a
complement to aid the readers understanding of the general story, while the latter acts as that of the
protagonists life, in the point of view of the protagonist (in this case,) himself. As the text says, the
former, though more popular than the text itself, becomes less meaningful without the original
documents, because the synthesis of the Literature and the illustration is what provides the readers
with the full experience of the book to imagine and be entertained by a story that does not usually
happen (393). To go further, the reader cannot live in it; the reader can only use it as to help one s
imagination/experience of the said fiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I generally agree with the comments of the MoMA s critique that Wall opened an entirely new way of
illustration, in that Wall s approach was so inviting to the audience. The focal point of the picture is to
the protagonist of the novel, the Invisible Man , and such emphasis does draw some eyes to the
protagonist. However, at the same time, the whole picture is overwhelmed by the number of the
lightbulbs above the man. Though everything is in real life sizes, the amount of the lightbulbs acts as a
hyperbole, as the text suggests (394). Such override of the focus provides the audiences with more
depth of cognition of the situation, and many times, it is not frequently possible in two dimensional
settings, such as (comparatively) plain illustrations like those of Wyeth. In that sense, I think Wall s
photography has opened a new way of the illustration. However, at the same time, I think his
brilliancy is solely due to his use of the medium of photography. In other words, I think his only
contribution to the illustration industry is the use of the film, which conveys different sets of images
and cognition. Films could always do that, and perhaps thousands of the photographers have used such
techniques in their work; there is nothing new about the technique itself. So the only difference Wall
made was his synthesis of the film and the Literature to illustrate that specific

Qualitative Research Is Good At Simplifying And Managing...
Qualitative research is good at simplifying and managing data without destroying complexity and
context. Qualitative methods are highly appropriate for questions where preemptive reduction of the
data will prevent discovery. If the purpose is to learn from the participants in a setting or a process the
way they experience it, the meanings they put on it, and how they interpret what they experience, the
researcher needs methods that will allow for discovery and do justice to their perceptions and the
complexity of their interpretations. Qualitative methods have in common the goal of generating new
ways of seeing existing data. If the purpose is to construct a theory or a theoretical framework that
reflects reality rather than the researchers own perspective or prior research results, one may need
methods that assist the discovery of theory in data. If the purpose is to understand phenomena deeply
and in detail, the researcher needs methods for discovery of central themes and analysis of core
concerns. Each of these suggestions has a flip side. If one knows what is being hypothesized and what
they are likely to find, if one do not need to know the complexity of others understandings, if one is
testing prior theory rather than constructing new frameworks, or if one is simply describing a situation
rather than deeply analyzing it, it is possible that one should not be working qualitatively. Perhaps the
research question that one is tackling with in depth interviews would be

What Is The Theme Of Survival In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
The ability to paint beautiful ideas on a canvas of dark events and imagery is an essential skill in the
arsenal of an accomplished writer. In his novel The Road, Cormac McCarthy demonstrates his
understanding of this skill. A reviewer from the San Francisco Chronicle described The Road saying,
[McCarthy s] tale of survival and the miracle of goodness only adds to McCarthy s stature as a living
master. It s gripping, frightening, and, ultimately, beautiful. These descriptions of the tale are true
throughout the novel, but particularly at the ending of the story. In the final pages of the book,
McCarthy continues to engage the reader with gripping and frightening moments, to emphasize the
theme of survival, and to reveal beauty and the miracle of goodness.
Throughout the novel, survival is a constant objective for the boy and his father. McCarthy s gripping
and frightening moments are most obviously interwoven with this theme. Soon after the death of his
father the boy looks up and sees that someone was coming. He started to turn and go back into the
woods but he didnt. He just stood in the road and waited, the pistol in his hand (McCarthy 281). With
the approach of this new potential threat, the boy s safety and survival are brought into question. As
the strange man comes near, a tension builds while the boy tries to make a decision that could quite
possibly affect the rest of his life. The tension dissipates when it is revealed that the man is not a
threat, but a

Abstract
The paper focuses on Entrepreneur s Marketing Source (EMS), a workbook idea owned by Brent
Banda. The study analyses the two options available to Brent on which the future of his company
depends. The first option is the strategic alliance with Imagine and the second option is to work on
workbook which will deal with marketing related issues for small and medium size businesses for
example proper advertising and product development. The advantages and disadvantages related to the
options are discussed with a final recommendation based on personal opinion.
Strategic Alliance with Imagine Alternative As stated in the case study, Brent is not a graphic designer,
thus he relies on other local companies to create finished ads and web pages. Recently he was
approached by a design firm he has worked with named Imagine with a business offer. With Imagine
willing to let EMS share a rented office space the client referral promise, the offer seems worthwhile
but it has its own advantages and disadvantages. The first advantage that Brent has with the alliance is
that he will not have to struggle to look for customers for the reason of Imagine being an established
business with a hefty number of loyal customers. Brent will have access to clients much larger than
those he has at present. The second advantage

The Prevalence Of Parkinson s Disease
Individuals worldwide are affected by Parkinson s disease. Parkinson s is a chronic disorder with
onset of symptoms occurring at a mean age of 60 years. The prevalence of Parkinson s increases with
age and may affect up to 5% of individuals over 79 years old. (Tosin, Campos, Andrade, Oliveira,
Santana, 2015). Those affected by the disease, experience impairments in movement, balance, and
have difficulty performing everyday life tasks. Due to posture deficits and gait dysfunction, patients
with Parkinson s have an increased risk of falling which may lead to secondary health problems.
Although exercise programs have been implemented to decrease falls, few programs are proven
successful. (Li, Harmer, Fitzgerald, Eckstrom, Stock, Galver, Maddalozzo, Batya, 2012). In order to
find an effective program in decreasing falls, nurses are performing various rehabilitation
interventions that focus on improving postural stability. Two examples of interventions include Qi
Gong and Tai Chi. Qi Gong is a mindful exercise that effects neuroplasticity in the brain and can have
an effect on the postural instability that Parkinson s patients experience (Loftus, 2014). Tai Chi is a
balance based exercise that may have an effect on muscle strength and stability for those living with
Parkinson s (Li, et al., 2012). Qi Gong and Tai Chi are two rehabilitation interventions that nurses are
implementing to prove whether or not complementary exercise programs improve posture enough to

Personal Narrative-Plowing Water
I was at the point of suffocation. The massive rubber soles overpowered my own feet, the heavily
insulated vest pressed my sides together, and I could have sworn it clenched me tighter and tighter by
the second. The mask compressed against my face, concealing my eyes and nose from the air I
desperately longed for. It forced me to breathe out of a compact tube, exposing the claustrophobia I
did not know I had. But before I even had time to think, I went plunging under. The tepid salt water
instantly enveloped me, and within seconds I floated back to the top. I was mystified by what may be
lurking beneath my legs, which were plowing back and forth to keep me up straight. I immediately
began to disregard the heavy gear I modeled so gauchely, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

This Old House Paper
This Old House by David Sedaris, is a story of a younger adult misunderstood by his own family and
most of society who simply just, longed for a home where history was respected. After taking a trip to
visit an old friend in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, he decides to stay in the city longer by finding work
and a place to live. He finds work as a dishwasher in a restaurant hoping to eventually advance from
his current position. After finding work, he then unexpectedly meets his future landlord who also has
the same appreciation for the past. After moving in to his new home, a friendship blossoms between
the main character and his landlord, even with other tenants opinions and ways of lives that have other
opinions on how life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The antagonist of the story would be the landlord, Rosemary and the other tenants of the home. This is
because her portrayed way of life attracted the narrator to Rosemary s house, which in return almost
solely based his decision on living there. Later in the story Rosemary changed into another person that
the main character almost could not recognize. With her change in appearance from vintage clothing
to more updated clothing, as well as her almost disregard for her so much loved antiques when the
main character first moved into the house. The other tenants, mainly the character Chaz, would
constantly ridicule the main character and seem as if their lives were more how life should be lived. In
the entire story being told, there are no exact dates or times stated by the main character as to when the
story being told took place, but from reading through the entire story, it could be concluded by readers
that the story is from a more modern period of time. With the way the main character refers to the out
of date clothing styles he chooses to wear and descriptions of the past from the depression era and
how the other characters, such as the main character s father and the tenant Chaz always ridiculed the
way he dressed or his opinions on how life should be lived. Even though there is no exact time frame
for the story, the reader does know where a majority of the story took place. The main

The Holocaust s Effect on the German Jew Essay
Adolf Hitler came to power over Germany in January of 1933. He hated Jews and blamed them for
everything bad that had ever happened to Germany. Hitler s goal in life was to eliminate the Jewish
population. With his rise to power in Germany, he would put into action his plan of elimination. This
is not only why German Jews were the main target of the Holocaust, but why they were a large part of
the years before, during, and after the Holocaust. Hitler s final solution almost eliminated the Jewish
population in Europe during World War II. At the end of the war and along with his suicide, the Jewish
population would survive the horror known as the Holocaust and the Jews would eventually find their
way back to their homeland of Israel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2). Even though this was not a violent treatment of the Jews, it was an attempt to bankrupt and
dehumanize them of everything they had worked for their whole lives (Jews in Nazi Germany pg. 2).
As a result, Jews became a segregated people. They had to ride on buses and trains only in the seat
that were clearly marked for them (Jews in Nazi Germany pg. 2). Jewish children were allowed to be
bullied at school in an attempt to keep them from coming to school. Hitler used this to brand the Jews
as a lazy people (Jews in Nazi Germany pg. 2). The Nuremberg Laws passed in 1935 gave even more
power to the Nazis and took away more dignity of the Jews. The Jews were stripped of their German
citizenship and marriages between Jews and non Jews were not allowed (Jews in Nazi Germany pg.

but the ones who could not afford it had to stay behind and were not allowed to get food or medicine

The Human Nature Of Consciousness Essay
Of all the objects in the universe, the human brain is the most complex. There are as many neurons in
the brain as there are stars in the Milky Way galaxy. , a quote from an issue of a Discover magazine
article. But what comes from this complexion? The answer is thought. Consciousness has been
quarreled between writers, scientists, priests, atheists and everyone in between. The priest says it is
divine and cannot be explained, the atheist says no it s evolution. The writer romanticizes it, creating
characters that contain the free will of the author but have more unrealistic complexion than any real
human character. Scientists explain that we are in a state of awareness and that consciousness cannot
be entirely explained as it is subjective and objectively, it cannot be measured. Human existence has
transcended from being a simple organism living with survival instincts: hunting and gathering food
for our kin, to working boring jobs to feed the family and to have just enough leisurely time to assure
yourself not to jump off the nearest building to end it all. The question is can an organism become
complex enough to consciously choose what they believe is morally right with free will. Do we live
for others or ourselves? Does consciousness actually exist and how do we prove it?
For many, memory is the proof of consciousness, as well as being proof of life. History, being
observed as it s definition, is ultimate proof that humans can think, are thinking, and will think,

Also in regards to wisdom, the Greek word tem is used as inner man, mind, will heart, and
understanding (blueletterbible.org). In scripture, tem is used by addressing the skilled tabernacle
workmen in Exodus 35:10, And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the
LORD hath commanded, (NASB).
New Testament Usage of Wisdom In the New Testament, words like wisdom and wisely are translated
from the Greek word phronimos (blueletterbible.org). It is translated to mean prudent, sensible, and
wise (Vine, 2006). In Luke 1:17, phronimos is used when the angel says And he shall go before him in
the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the
wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord, (NKJ). Throughout the New
Testament, it appears that wisdom is mostly referred to as something gained through life experiences

Analysis Of Mice And Men By John Steinbeck

Part one: I want to find out how important it is to take care of those in need? I am interested in this
because there are a lot of people in the world that have disabilities and they need help. In mice and
men, Lennie has trouble understanding the outside world and he takes time to process things in his
brain. Lennie doesn t know his strength and he can get into trouble easily. For example, when Curly
wants to fight with Lennie, Lennie accidentally breaks his right arm. At the end of the story, Lennie
hugs a puppy but accidentally kills it. Also, he kills Curly s wife by snapping her neck. People with
problems, how can they take care of themselves? In mice and men, George takes care of Lennie by
thinking he is a part of him. But in the real world, how important is it to care someone who has certain
types of problems?
Part 2: In the United States, there are tons of health hospital and facilities, there all know a little bit off
something about how important it to care someone with disabilities. There are websites like the
national council on disability or the NCD, The United States centers for disease control and
prevention or CDC, and health care. There are also resources like gale, which can hold a lot of
information about this particular topic. There are a lot of great information out in the world, some are
in book that exist somewhere in the world.

The Journey Of Aeneas From Virgil s Aeneid And The...
At a first glance, the journeys of Aeneas from Virgil s Aeneid and Saint Augustine in his
autobiography The Confessions, do not seem to have much in common. In Confessions, Augustine
embarks on a spiritual journey, while Aeneas endures a physical one. After closely reading both texts,
readers can see the powerful, striking connection between Saint Augustine s journey and Aeneas . The
Confessions serves as a personal inspiration to readers by showcasing Augustine s journey towards
God, and His presence throughout that journey. Aeneas ability to overcome hardships because of his
belief in the gods and divine grace, is closely related to Augustine s ability to be exposed to God s
mercy and companionship, even when he did not have faith in Him, because of the notion instilled in
him by God. Divine Providence is evident in both The Aeneid and The Confessions through examples
such as, characters enduring storms as a result of the gods, or dreams confirming that God is in
complete control of the world. Although Augustine has strayed from God, God remains with him.
Throughout The Aeneid, Aeneas showcases divine grace, divine Providence, and self sacrifice, which
makes him relate more closely with Augustine s journey of life than the one written by Virgil. Divine
grace can be defined as the divine influence within humans, which inspires them to resist temptation
and endure tribulations. It also signifies the reawakening of people to God. Throughout The Aeneid,
Aeneas faces many

The Flea John Donne Meaning
The Flea, by John Donne, is a well known poem which even now has a bold meaning. Overall in this
poem the speaker is attempting to take the virginity of a woman he is with by using the flea around
them as a way to convince her. In the first stanza the flea has come and bit him and then bit the
woman. He says that their blood is already intertwined in lines three and four it sucked me first, and
now sucks thee,/ and in this flea our two bloods, mingled be. He goes on to say that she should not
deny him and if it not a sin for their blood to mix in the body of the flea, then it should not be wrong
for them to fornicate before marriage, as shown in lines five and six, Thou know st that this cannot be
said/ A sin, nor loss of maidenhead. In stanza two the woman that the speaker is attempting to court
using the flea as an excuse, attempts to kill the flea, yet the speaker says not to because it contains
both their blood and in a sense a part of them that was brought together, representing their marriage ,
this is shown in lines twelve and thirteen this flea is you and I, and this/ our marriage bed, and

eight where it says And pampered swells with one blood made of two. Moving forward, in line four
the speaker makes a pun to help his case by saying And in this flea our two bloods mingled be this is
saying that their bloodlines are already mixed so they have already, in a sense, made a child. Also
there is an extended metaphor throughout the poem that their blood is life within this flea, and this

The Pros And Cons Of Skepticism
The most basic claim of skepticism, it seems to me, usually involves a version of the classic Cartesian
Evil Demon Scenario (EDS). I believe that EDS should be redefined before we start an extensive
discussion thereof: EDS is generally a scenario, involving an attitude towards the reality we live in (it
includes both an ontological and epistemic shift in our thinking), involving questioning the basic
assumption that what we perceive in that reality is not (directly) caused by the objects (phenomena et
cetera), but is caused by an indirect entity (such as an Evil Demon or an Evil Scientist simulating the
experience you seem to have). Even though this is the principle skepticism is based on, to me, it is
also its weakest point. In this paper, I will, first, try to reconstruct some of the common skeptic
approaches and then attempt to show how skeptic arguments and scenarios can be dissolved (not
refuted, since trying to refute a skeptic argument causes one to fall into the same trap as the skeptic
does).
The foremost example of an EDS was presented by Descartes in his Meditation I. It proceeds in
phases, which I will not talk in detail, but summarize in a concise way: Descartes first observes the
objects, phenomena around him; then he concedes that he cannot tell the difference between waking
and dreaming, that he had the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These arguments follow premises that cannot be testified by observable data, neither do they provide
any analytical, a priori arguments, which can be deduced from other a priori propositions. Even
though I reject an epistemic discussion which involves any sort of EDS, from a meta epistemological
perspective, this paper summarizes my beliefs pretty well and I also believe that those who find
themselves in a situation where they have to argue against these types of arguments can benefit from
some of the thoughts I laid out in this

when I made an impressive elephant with finger paint before the school s annual trip to the National
Zoo. At first I struggled with deciding what type of project to pursue. I wanted to do something
meaningful and original, but the best I could think of was either to make a video or maybe a collage. It
wasn t until I was walking back to my dorm room late one night when it presented itself, literally. It
was a pretty peaceful evening when I was passing the Dominion residence building. I did not see or
hear anyone or anything around me. It was completely silent when out of nowhere a shopping cart
came rolling off the top set of stairs and crashed onto the grass in front of me. After the cart had
ceased to move it was completely silent again. That is when I decided that I would make a shopping
cart garden. It would be an interesting piece that would capture people s attention and would not
require me to torture my fellow classmates with my sub par finger painting. The garden would give a
tangible source for observers that would create a larger impact than

Pro Choice Views On Abortion
On the issue of abortion, there are two predominant stances: pro choice and pro life. The pro choice
stance holds that abortion and abortion clinics should be legal in most cases, assuming the pregnancy
isn t too far along. The pro life stance holds that most, if not all, abortions are morally wrong.
Typically, the pro life stance brings in a religious belief, but that won t be discussed. I believe that a
person legally has a right to their own body, and I can t dictate what they do with it however morally
wrong I may see it. The pro choice position s main argument is that illegalizing abortions takes away
rights from the mother. Referring back to the textbook, this is the argument that if a famous artist s
kidney failed, nobody is legally bound to give them their kidney. Additionally, people in the pro
choice position don t view the fetus as a child at conception. It s a clump of cells that can t experience
pain or live on their own, so nobody has a duty to protect or raise it. People in the pro life position
argue against this by saying that the fetus has the potential to become a child, so we have a duty to
protect it and raise it to be a person. A derivative of this argument is to reserve the most human life.
The issue with this is once that distinction is made, what makes rape wrong? If rape occurs, there s
potential for a child, too. Overall, pro choice people believe that a mother s rights and ability to make
decisions outweighs the rights of a fetus.

United Airlines Argument Essay
The article Here s what United will do differently after the infamous dragging incident , written by
Kristine Phillips and Avi Selk (2017), describes the aftermath of the incident where a United Airline
passenger was forcibly removed from an airplane to open a seat for an off duty crew member. This
event was a disaster for United and fueled public anger toward United, even international outrage
(Phillips Selk, 2017). This issue has caused United Airlines to change their policies by requiring off
duty crew members to check in at least an hour before the flight leaves (Phillips and Selk, 2017) and
once the airplane has been boarded, the passengers cannot be removed, unless it is for safety reasons.

Research on Jury Bias
Jury Bias
With jury bias we examined that the perspective taking, victim impact statements and race of the
victim had no main effects with ps 0.26 and no significant interactions either with ps 0.64.
Jury Race
The race of the jury was divided into white and non white participants. An ANOVA was then run with
perspective taking, victim impact statements, and race of the victim as the between participants factors
to test against empathy felt for the defendant, for the victim, for the victim s significant others.

Possible area for future research could be imagine self perspective taking. Past research has shown
that when participants think about how they would personally feel in a situation, then they tend to feel
more self awareness, experience more personal distress, and may even have an increased sense of
morality (Batson, et al., 1997; Batson, et al., 2003). Previous work has also shown that the two forms
of perspective taking elicited different amount of personal distress (Batson, Early et al., 1997) and
different types of cognitions (Davis et al., 2004), and evidence from neuroimaging studies provide
further evidence of their distinguishableness in terms of neural activity (Jackson, Brunet, Melzoff
Decety, 2006).
Future research could consider a different formatting for the perspective taking manipulation, perhaps
to prime the participants and employ imagine self perspective taking prime or a combination of both
imagine self and imagine other primes to examine the effect of perspective taking manipulation.
Previous research on victim impact statements has indicated that higher emotionality of the victim
impact statements will lead to harsher punishments of the defendant (Myers et al., 1999; Myers et al.,
2002), as well as favorability towards the victim (Myers Greene 2004). Contradictory to earlier
findings, participants who were not perspective taking with the

To make further comment we need to investigate further by looking at industry, competitors and
economy. There may be other factors causing this ratio to decrease such as a general decline gross
margin profit in retail sector affecting all companies, high inflation causing less demand, increasing
competition etc. We should do further investigation to make further comment. In conclusion, although
Tesco still has a higher ROCE than that of Sainsbury s, Sainsbury has improved its ratio better than
Tesco. We may assume. If this trend continues, Sainsbury will continue increasing its Rate for the
Return on Capital Employed, as it used to do, in the long run Sainsbury would be more profitable than
Tesco. 2.2 Rate of Return on Shareholders Funds (equity) Rate of Return on equity measures a

Tesco, Rate of Return on Shareholders Fund has increased from 13.85% in 2004 to 14.91% in 2009.
This shows an improvement of 1.06% in five years period. When one examines the Sainsbury s Rate

The Middle East And West Perceive Each Other
How the Middle East and West Perceive each other
Followed by a year of continuous terror attacks by ISIS, riots over cartoon portrayals of the Prophet
PBUH, and the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan, many Muslims and Westerners know that they
have developed bad relations these days. The media continuously portrays the Middle East as nation
filled with terrorist whilst the West are portrayed as the nation that is trying to make peace. There have
been so many misconceptions that have made both cultures create a barrier between them because of
how both cultures are portrayed through the media.
Many in the West, view Muslims as fanatical, violent and as lacking tolerance. Muslims in the Middle
East and Asia have the same feelings towards the west as they view them as violent and extremist but
also selfish, immoral and greedy.
How America Perceives Muslims and the Middle East
Islamophobia existed in America before the terrorist attacks of September 11 2001, but it was not as
harsh as it was back then, but it did increase after the terror attacks and with the media adding more
misconceptions (Sinlak, n.d.). Some of the perceptions that most Americans had of the Middle East
was that they were rich with oil, lived a lavish life and consisted of deserts. They did not have the idea
of the Middle East being a terrorist region where there was always war. However, after 9/11 the
negative views started to increase, and Muslims and the Middle East were viewed very negatively.

How Is The Roman Republic Democratic
The Roman Republic (509 B.C. 27 B.C.) lasted 482 years, and was a democracy, but exactly how
democratic was it? A democracy is a type of government where the main power is given to the people.
In a democracy, fair elections are held, the people are active, and the same laws apply equally to all
people of the democracy. The Roman Republic was fairly democratic because, all men could vote, and
the people had the final say in the government and military, however, there were fairly undemocratic
parts of the Roman Republic; one being the fact that the voters were disenfranchised due to the people
with more power s votes counted more.
One aspect of the Roman Republic that made it truly democratic was that all men could vote. That
included the poor and freed slaves. Furthermore, as stated by Professor Fergus Miller, Every adult
male citizen, unless, specifically disqualified, had a vote, and there was no formal exclusion of the
poor. Free slaves could also vote... This clearly shows that the Roman Republic was, in fact,
democratic because voting rights are extremely important in a democracy and everyone (with the
exception of women) could vote. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As stated in The Histories by Polybius, There is, however, a part left to the people (the Assemblies),
and it is a most important one. It is the people in the Assemblies who grant office to those who deserve
it through elections. The Assemblies also have the final say in passing or repealing laws, and most
important of all is that they make the final decision on the question of peace or war. This suggests that
the Roman Republic was very democratic because the people, do, in our modern day society, what a
president would. In summary, people had the final say in the government, making the Roman
Republic exceedingly

Advertising For Advertising
How much are ads part of everyday life? The New York Times recorded a study by Yankelovich, a
market research firm, and they estimated that people living in a city see up to 5,000 or more
advertisements a day. By the same token, children are heavily exposed to advertising, and most of the
ads today are directed right at them. Advertising to children is a big part of the market today.
Therefore, advertisers should not market to children because it is unethical. It can influence children s
behavior in a negative fashion, and markets can exploit children, and can use the media to reach
children at young ages even though they are not able to understand its intent. Ads can influence and
affect a child s behavior. With this in mind, marketers tapped into the children s market and figured it
would boost their revenue. It all starts when a child is very young. According to the article How
Marketers Target Kids children at six months of age can form mental images of corporate logos and
mascots. Brand loyalties can be established as early as age two... Not to mention, marketers will create
campaign ads so children will use pestering behavior to get a certain product, which starts at a young
age as well ( How Marketers Target Kids ). Marketers want children to be bothersome whenever they
want something and to continue this behavior. To emphasize this fact YTV Kids and Tweens Report in

Marketing Strategy Of T Mobile
ORGANIZATION Since Q1 of 2013, T Mobile has set the telecommunications industry on fire by
trailblazing with the the UN Carrier strategy. The UN Carrier strategy is essentially a set of changes to
business approaches that have branded T Mobile as the antithesis of the traditional cell phone carrier,
such as Verizon, AT T, and Sprint. Such changes to business practices include, no service contracts,
upgrades whenever you want, and de subsidizing phones from plans. The strategy has proven to be
successful. In Q4 of 2014, T Mobile took on 2.1 million new customers, overtaking AT T which sat at
1.9 million new customers. Also, T Mobile is officially the third largest carrier, overtaking Sprint for
the title, with 56 million in total ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The employees have contributed to generating 29.6 billion in revenues in 2014. All the hard work of
the employees and the successes they achieved have not come without a price, unfortunately.
KEY ISSUE The telecommunications industry provides a very competitive landscape. Change within
the industry is as reliable as the sunrise. And as a catalyst of change within the landscape, T Mobile
usually drives that change. T Mobile was the first to offer no service contracts, the first to offer
unsubsidized phone plans, etc. As a byproduct of this, much is expected of the frontline employees.
Frontline retail employees are measured by countless metrics. As most employees will attest, the key
issue within T Mobile is the problems that arise when the focus of the business shifts too quickly.
Granted, in a competitive landscape, those within the landscape have to adapt quickly. However, T
Mobile doesn t necessarily put its frontline employees in the best position in order to succeed. While
this will be discussed further in the next section, there is nothing more discouraging as a sales rep than
to be given a goal to achieve, given little to no grace period for learning and practicing correct
behaviors, and have the focus of the business shift just when reps were beginning to reinforce those
behaviors. In turn, this would cause reps not to hit key performance indicators (KPIs).

To Her Father With None
The poem To her father with some verses by Anne Bradstreet details a women s attempt to show
praise for her father while being unable repay him all that he has done for her. The first thing that
initially hits the reader is the tone of the poem. The first few lines paint an overall sad atmosphere that
continually engulfs the reader as the poem continues. The conclusion fo the poem leaves the reader in
a depressed state knowing that no matter what the women in the poem does, she can never repay what
her father has done for her. Add this with the fact the narrator mentions she plans to continue this
repayment until the day she dies. These ideas offer a similar take on Puritan culture. Puritan families

The semi formal/casual formal and formalwear segment has a number of players and retailers with a
number of both homegrown as well as international brands. The utility footwear segment is the most
price sensitive and is dominated mostly by domestic players and retailers both organized and
unorganized.
Men s footwear comprises the largest share of the organized market in value terms. The ladies
footwear segment remains the most untapped as nearly 80 90 percent purchases happen in the
unorganized market largely due to the dressing habits of women for whom consideration of durability
or comfort are less important than colors and designs that go with dress. The children s and kid s
segment also accounts for a significant share due to the increased emphasis on sporty looks.

Causes Of Organized Crime
Organized crime is threatening to our security and must be studied because of the abundance of
instances in which these crimes are committed in this particular category of crime. Perpetrators of
organized crime threaten not only the United States but it is also committed from the U.S. to other
countries and vice versa; organized crime is committed against us and from us. These crimes stem
from displaced peoples, which can be studied by looking through the ideologies of the social
disorganization theory. Organized crime is a broad topic of crimes, there are strategies set out to
prevent it, however, it is very hard to prevent a crime that can happen to anybody. Organized crime is
defined as the unlawful activities of the members of a highly organized, disciplined association
engaged in supplying illegal goods and services, including prostitution, gambling, loan sharking,
narcotics, and labor racketeering (Pearson, 2017). The Federal Bureau of Investigations has a glossary
of terms that fall into the category of organized crime; criminal enterprise is known as a group of
individuals with an identified hierarchy, or comparable structure, engaged in significant criminal
activity. The FBI also defines transnational organized crime, which is those self perpetuating
associations of individuals wo operate transnationally for the purpose of obtaining power, influence,
and monetary and/or commercial gains, wholly in part by illegal means. Lastly, significant

The Consolation of Philosophy
In book III of The Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius establishes the fact that God is the world s
helmsman, the divine reason, the supreme good, the origin of all things. He demonstrates that God is
omnipotent and omniscient. Nothing more superior can even be conceived of. Through the concept of
unity, through which things basically become good, Boethius shows that God and happiness are one,
the divine goodness. He concludes, God is the essence of happiness. (70)
Book IV is the turning point in the theodicy, in the first chapter Boethius is truly puzzled by the
presence of evil in the world. But the greatest cause of my sadness is really this the fact that in spite of
a good helmsman to guide the world, evil can still exist and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To further explain the idea that vice is often rewarded is only an appearance, Philosophy begins
discussing punishment. She states that when criminals get punished, they receive something good.
Punishment is rehabilitation, it turns someone bad to see the light of goodness, because punishment in
itself is justice. It is when the perpetrators are not caught and brought to justice they endure the biggest
punishment of all. Wickedness, is punishment for evil, therefore it is everlasting. So the wicked are
much more unhappy when they are unjustly allowed to go scot free, than when a just punishment is
imposed on them. (98) She even goes a bit further, as to say that kindness and sympathy is usually
placed with the victim, where as it should be placed with the guilty. (100) Boethius views wickedness
as sickness, like sick men being brought to the doctor, so that their guilt could be cut back by
punishment like a malignant growth. (100) In another instance Boethius writes, evil is not so much
an infliction as a deep set infection. (94) (may be cut one quote out?)
As Boethius continues to deliberate upon the problem of good and evil, they come to the discussion of
Providence and Fate. Philosophy begins by defining both and underlining the difference between
them. She defines Providence as God s ultimate, unchanging plan, which is divine and eternal. Where
as, Fate is the way things play out. Unlike Providence, Fate is subject to change and effected by
fortune.

Big Fish Movie Analysis
The book Big Fish and its movie adaptation shows the importance of how different factors help to
improve the story. This book tells of the legendary stories of Edward Bloom, narrated by his son,
William. The tales of Edward Bloom seem fictitious and far too amusing to be real. His son is
determined to find the truth in his father s stories in order to understand who his father truly was
behind his fantastic stories. The movie does not fail in its interpretation of the novel, in fact the movie
could very well be even better. The addition of new scenes and the focus on Edward s love life help
the movie tell the story in it s own way, showcasing the brilliance of the art of cinematography.

Motifs are described as a recurring theme that has symbolic significance. Motifs are a powerful
embellishment and provide movies with a traceable pattern or a significant meeting to look for later

Big Fish consisted of the ring that Edward used to catch the fish, the Witch s eye that showed Edward
his death, the fish that Edward caught the day his son was born and the giant. An example of the
Giants significance in the movie Big Fish was when he stated, You think this town is too small for
you? This town is too small for my ambition. The giant in the small city of Ashton represents the big
fish in a little pond analogy and Edward Bloom s ambition. The witches eye that showed Edward
death was a fantastic motif because it portrayed his fearlessness. The eye is the symbol for himself,

his future relationship with the witch. Lastly, the eye is a motif for the life he didn t have and it was

Similarities Between John Smith And William Bradford
Smith vs Bradford
Both John Smith and William Bradford journeyed to the New World during the time of America s
colonization in the early 1600s. These two men recorded their experiences during the voyage to share
with people back in their home country of England. While Smith and Bradford traveled to the same
place, their accounts were extremely dissimilar from each other. John Smith s General History of
Virginia, New England, and the Summer Isles describes America as an agriculture and livestock rich
area with endless opportunity. On the other hand, in Of Their Voyage, And How They Passed The Sea;
And Of Their Safe Arrival At Cape Cod, William Bradford stresses the hardship faced that extended
past the voyage and the painstaking work that goes into colonization. Although Smith and Bradford s
accounts have some similarities, the idea of the American dream is strengthened by Smith and

Smith s written experience of the New World is often viewed as propaganda due to his account only
listing positive aspects of living in America. But, his strategy proved successful as more hard working
Englishmen began to travel to America to colonize as a result of John Smith s account. In his writing,
initially he talks about the great abundance of fruits and livestock available to show potential colonists
that hunger would never be an issue in the New World. Also, his general satisfaction with the land s
fertility and the convenience of nearby bodies of water is explained throughout the work. These are
important factors for a British society to have since, around this time, long distance trading became a
new way to conduct business. Smith even goes further and states that there is no need for trading

  • 3. Lecture 5 Strengths And Disadvantages Of The Articles Of... Lecture 5 Articles vs Constitution The Articles of Confederation constructed a national government that had military power, elected officials, power to declare war, and even the power to manage indian relations. It took many complaints, and conflicts to ratify the Articles of Confederation. It has a certain structure, and many weaknesses. On the other hand, the Constitution was also opposed, but accepted as well, and it is ratified. A federal constitution was first proposed on June 12, 1176, when the Second Continental Congress called for a thirteen man committee to draw it. It became known as the articles of confederation the following November, and was turned in to the states for its approval. John Dickinson was the main contributor to the Articles of confederation. He called it a League of Friendship .The Articles took 5 years to get approved by all 13 states, and were ratified until March 1, 1781. The length taken to ratify the Articles was seen as a lack in common unity. There was complaint that states with land could use their tracts to pay money for common cause. It seemed logical that the western area be given to the central government to get rid of land for common benefit . There was a problem with landed estates, which had land west of the Appalachians, and the landless states, which boundaries were defined. It became an even bigger problem with the proclamation line of 1763. The landless states said that land that was debated about should be shared by all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Symbolism In The Invisible Man 1. The chief difference between Wyeth s painting and Wall s photography is that the former acts as a complement to aid the readers understanding of the general story, while the latter acts as that of the protagonists life, in the point of view of the protagonist (in this case,) himself. As the text says, the former, though more popular than the text itself, becomes less meaningful without the original documents, because the synthesis of the Literature and the illustration is what provides the readers with the full experience of the book to imagine and be entertained by a story that does not usually happen (393). To go further, the reader cannot live in it; the reader can only use it as to help one s imagination/experience of the said fiction ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I generally agree with the comments of the MoMA s critique that Wall opened an entirely new way of illustration, in that Wall s approach was so inviting to the audience. The focal point of the picture is to the protagonist of the novel, the Invisible Man , and such emphasis does draw some eyes to the protagonist. However, at the same time, the whole picture is overwhelmed by the number of the lightbulbs above the man. Though everything is in real life sizes, the amount of the lightbulbs acts as a hyperbole, as the text suggests (394). Such override of the focus provides the audiences with more depth of cognition of the situation, and many times, it is not frequently possible in two dimensional settings, such as (comparatively) plain illustrations like those of Wyeth. In that sense, I think Wall s photography has opened a new way of the illustration. However, at the same time, I think his brilliancy is solely due to his use of the medium of photography. In other words, I think his only contribution to the illustration industry is the use of the film, which conveys different sets of images and cognition. Films could always do that, and perhaps thousands of the photographers have used such techniques in their work; there is nothing new about the technique itself. So the only difference Wall made was his synthesis of the film and the Literature to illustrate that specific ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Qualitative Research Is Good At Simplifying And Managing... Qualitative research is good at simplifying and managing data without destroying complexity and context. Qualitative methods are highly appropriate for questions where preemptive reduction of the data will prevent discovery. If the purpose is to learn from the participants in a setting or a process the way they experience it, the meanings they put on it, and how they interpret what they experience, the researcher needs methods that will allow for discovery and do justice to their perceptions and the complexity of their interpretations. Qualitative methods have in common the goal of generating new ways of seeing existing data. If the purpose is to construct a theory or a theoretical framework that reflects reality rather than the researchers own perspective or prior research results, one may need methods that assist the discovery of theory in data. If the purpose is to understand phenomena deeply and in detail, the researcher needs methods for discovery of central themes and analysis of core concerns. Each of these suggestions has a flip side. If one knows what is being hypothesized and what they are likely to find, if one do not need to know the complexity of others understandings, if one is testing prior theory rather than constructing new frameworks, or if one is simply describing a situation rather than deeply analyzing it, it is possible that one should not be working qualitatively. Perhaps the research question that one is tackling with in depth interviews would be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. What Is The Theme Of Survival In The Road By Cormac Mccarthy The ability to paint beautiful ideas on a canvas of dark events and imagery is an essential skill in the arsenal of an accomplished writer. In his novel The Road, Cormac McCarthy demonstrates his understanding of this skill. A reviewer from the San Francisco Chronicle described The Road saying, [McCarthy s] tale of survival and the miracle of goodness only adds to McCarthy s stature as a living master. It s gripping, frightening, and, ultimately, beautiful. These descriptions of the tale are true throughout the novel, but particularly at the ending of the story. In the final pages of the book, McCarthy continues to engage the reader with gripping and frightening moments, to emphasize the theme of survival, and to reveal beauty and the miracle of goodness. Throughout the novel, survival is a constant objective for the boy and his father. McCarthy s gripping and frightening moments are most obviously interwoven with this theme. Soon after the death of his father the boy looks up and sees that someone was coming. He started to turn and go back into the woods but he didnt. He just stood in the road and waited, the pistol in his hand (McCarthy 281). With the approach of this new potential threat, the boy s safety and survival are brought into question. As the strange man comes near, a tension builds while the boy tries to make a decision that could quite possibly affect the rest of his life. The tension dissipates when it is revealed that the man is not a threat, but a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Entrepreneur s Marketing Source The Entrepreneur s Marketing Source (EMS) Hitesh Singh Dhonsi (1110682) Professor Rui Silva University Canada West 18th November, 2014 Abstract The paper focuses on Entrepreneur s Marketing Source (EMS), a workbook idea owned by Brent Banda. The study analyses the two options available to Brent on which the future of his company depends. The first option is the strategic alliance with Imagine and the second option is to work on workbook which will deal with marketing related issues for small and medium size businesses for example proper advertising and product development. The advantages and disadvantages related to the options are discussed with a final recommendation based on personal opinion. Strategic Alliance with Imagine Alternative As stated in the case study, Brent is not a graphic designer, thus he relies on other local companies to create finished ads and web pages. Recently he was approached by a design firm he has worked with named Imagine with a business offer. With Imagine willing to let EMS share a rented office space the client referral promise, the offer seems worthwhile but it has its own advantages and disadvantages. The first advantage that Brent has with the alliance is that he will not have to struggle to look for customers for the reason of Imagine being an established business with a hefty number of loyal customers. The prevalence of Parkinson s increases with age and may affect up to 5% of individuals over 79 years old. (Tosin, Campos, Andrade, Oliveira, Santana, 2015). Those affected by the disease, experience impairments in movement, balance, and have difficulty performing everyday life tasks. Due to posture deficits and gait dysfunction, patients with Parkinson s have an increased risk of falling which may lead to secondary health problems. Although exercise programs have been implemented to decrease falls, few programs are proven successful. (Li, Harmer, Fitzgerald, Eckstrom, Stock, Galver, Maddalozzo, Batya, 2012). In order to find an effective program in decreasing falls, nurses are performing various rehabilitation interventions that focus on improving postural stability. Two examples of interventions include Qi Gong and Tai Chi. Qi Gong is a mindful exercise that effects neuroplasticity in the brain and can have an effect on the postural instability that Parkinson s patients experience (Loftus, 2014). Tai Chi is a balance based exercise that may have an effect on muscle strength and stability for those living with Parkinson s (Li, et al., 2012). Qi Gong and Tai Chi are two rehabilitation interventions that nurses are implementing to prove whether or not complementary exercise programs improve posture enough to ... The massive rubber soles overpowered my own feet, the heavily insulated vest pressed my sides together, and I could have sworn it clenched me tighter and tighter by the second. It forced me to breathe out of a compact tube, exposing the claustrophobia I did not know I had. But before I even had time to think, I went plunging under. The tepid salt water instantly enveloped me, and within seconds I floated back to the top. Hitler s goal in life was to eliminate the Jewish population. With his rise to power in Germany, he would put into action his plan of elimination. This is not only why German Jews were the main target of the Holocaust, but why they were a large part of the years before, during, and after the Holocaust. • 16. The Human Nature Of Consciousness Essay Of all the objects in the universe, the human brain is the most complex. There are as many neurons in the brain as there are stars in the Milky Way galaxy. , a quote from an issue of a Discover magazine article. But what comes from this complexion? The answer is thought. Consciousness has been quarreled between writers, scientists, priests, atheists and everyone in between. The priest says it is divine and cannot be explained, the atheist says no it s evolution. The writer romanticizes it, creating characters that contain the free will of the author but have more unrealistic complexion than any real human character. Scientists explain that we are in a state of awareness and that consciousness cannot be entirely explained as it is subjective and objectively, it cannot be measured. Human existence has transcended from being a simple organism living with survival instincts: hunting and gathering food for our kin, to working boring jobs to feed the family and to have just enough leisurely time to assure yourself not to jump off the nearest building to end it all. The question is can an organism become complex enough to consciously choose what they believe is morally right with free will. Do we live for others or ourselves? Does consciousness actually exist and how do we prove it? For many, memory is the proof of consciousness, as well as being proof of life. At a first glance, the journeys of Aeneas from Virgil s Aeneid and Saint Augustine in his autobiography The Confessions, do not seem to have much in common. In Confessions, Augustine embarks on a spiritual journey, while Aeneas endures a physical one. After closely reading both texts, readers can see the powerful, striking connection between Saint Augustine s journey and Aeneas . The Confessions serves as a personal inspiration to readers by showcasing Augustine s journey towards God, and His presence throughout that journey. Aeneas ability to overcome hardships because of his belief in the gods and divine grace, is closely related to Augustine s ability to be exposed to God s mercy and companionship, even when he did not have faith in Him, because of the notion instilled in him by God. Divine Providence is evident in both The Aeneid and The Confessions through examples such as, characters enduring storms as a result of the gods, or dreams confirming that God is in complete control of the world. Although Augustine has strayed from God, God remains with him. Throughout The Aeneid, Aeneas showcases divine grace, divine Providence, and self sacrifice, which makes him relate more closely with Augustine s journey of life than the one written by Virgil. Divine grace can be defined as the divine influence within humans, which inspires them to resist temptation and endure tribulations. It also signifies the reawakening of people to God. • 22. The Pros And Cons Of Skepticism The most basic claim of skepticism, it seems to me, usually involves a version of the classic Cartesian Evil Demon Scenario (EDS). I believe that EDS should be redefined before we start an extensive discussion thereof: EDS is generally a scenario, involving an attitude towards the reality we live in (it includes both an ontological and epistemic shift in our thinking), involving questioning the basic assumption that what we perceive in that reality is not (directly) caused by the objects (phenomena et cetera), but is caused by an indirect entity (such as an Evil Demon or an Evil Scientist simulating the experience you seem to have). Even though this is the principle skepticism is based on, to me, it is also its weakest point. In this paper, I will, first, try to reconstruct some of the common skeptic approaches and then attempt to show how skeptic arguments and scenarios can be dissolved (not refuted, since trying to refute a skeptic argument causes one to fall into the same trap as the skeptic does). The foremost example of an EDS was presented by Descartes in his Meditation I. It proceeds in phases, which I will not talk in detail, but summarize in a concise way: Descartes first observes the objects, phenomena around him; then he concedes that he cannot tell the difference between waking and dreaming, that he had the ... • 24. Pro Choice Views On Abortion On the issue of abortion, there are two predominant stances: pro choice and pro life. The pro choice stance holds that abortion and abortion clinics should be legal in most cases, assuming the pregnancy isn t too far along. The pro life stance holds that most, if not all, abortions are morally wrong. Typically, the pro life stance brings in a religious belief, but that won t be discussed. I believe that a person legally has a right to their own body, and I can t dictate what they do with it however morally wrong I may see it. The pro choice position s main argument is that illegalizing abortions takes away rights from the mother. Referring back to the textbook, this is the argument that if a famous artist s kidney failed, nobody is legally bound to give them their kidney. Additionally, people in the pro choice position don t view the fetus as a child at conception. It s a clump of cells that can t experience pain or live on their own, so nobody has a duty to protect or raise it. People in the pro life position argue against this by saying that the fetus has the potential to become a child, so we have a duty to protect it and raise it to be a person. A derivative of this argument is to reserve the most human life. The issue with this is once that distinction is made, what makes rape wrong? If rape occurs, there s potential for a child, too. Overall, pro choice people believe that a mother s rights and ability to make decisions outweighs the rights of a fetus. From this, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Middle East And West Perceive Each Other How the Middle East and West Perceive each other Followed by a year of continuous terror attacks by ISIS, riots over cartoon portrayals of the Prophet PBUH, and the ongoing war in Iraq and Afghanistan, many Muslims and Westerners know that they have developed bad relations these days. The media continuously portrays the Middle East as nation filled with terrorist whilst the West are portrayed as the nation that is trying to make peace. • 30. How Is The Roman Republic Democratic The Roman Republic (509 B.C. 27 B.C.) lasted 482 years, and was a democracy, but exactly how democratic was it? A democracy is a type of government where the main power is given to the people. In a democracy, fair elections are held, the people are active, and the same laws apply equally to all people of the democracy. The Roman Republic was fairly democratic because, all men could vote, and the people had the final say in the government and military, however, there were fairly undemocratic parts of the Roman Republic; one being the fact that the voters were disenfranchised due to the people with more power s votes counted more. One aspect of the Roman Republic that made it truly democratic was that all men could vote. That included the poor and freed slaves. Furthermore, as stated by Professor Fergus Miller, Every adult male citizen, unless, specifically disqualified, had a vote, and there was no formal exclusion of the poor. Free slaves could also vote... This clearly shows that the Roman Republic was, in fact, democratic because voting rights are extremely important in a democracy and everyone (with the exception of women) could vote. ... It is the people in the Assemblies who grant office to those who deserve it through elections. The Assemblies also have the final say in passing or repealing laws, and most important of all is that they make the final decision on the question of peace or war. This suggests that the Roman Republic was very democratic because the people, do, in our modern day society, what a president would. Rukmani s Nectar In A Sieve Entry Nectar in a Sieve Entry One night, Rukmani heard soft footsteps, and thought it was Kunthi coming to rob them of what little they had, unashamed of her previous actions. Rukmani went outside, and threw herself at the figure she saw. She beat it to the ground, overcome with rage, as the figure struggled weakly. Then Rukmani was pulled off the figure, and Nathan scolded her for beating her own daughter. I think Kunthi s previous actions had angered Rukmani so much, that she was blinded by rage at the very suspicion of the figure being Kunthi stealthily walking to their house to steal whatever food they had left. • 34. Advertising For Advertising How much are ads part of everyday life? The New York Times recorded a study by Yankelovich, a market research firm, and they estimated that people living in a city see up to 5,000 or more advertisements a day. By the same token, children are heavily exposed to advertising, and most of the ads today are directed right at them. Advertising to children is a big part of the market today. Therefore, advertisers should not market to children because it is unethical. It can influence children s behavior in a negative fashion, and markets can exploit children, and can use the media to reach children at young ages even though they are not able to understand its intent. Ads can influence and affect a child s behavior. With this in mind, marketers tapped into the children s market and figured it would boost their revenue. It all starts when a child is very young. According to the article How Marketers Target Kids children at six months of age can form mental images of corporate logos and mascots. Brand loyalties can be established as early as age two... The UN Carrier strategy is essentially a set of changes to business approaches that have branded T Mobile as the antithesis of the traditional cell phone carrier, such as Verizon, AT T, and Sprint. Such changes to business practices include, no service contracts, upgrades whenever you want, and de subsidizing phones from plans. The strategy has proven to be successful. The employees have contributed to generating 29.6 billion in revenues in 2014. All the hard work of the employees and the successes they achieved have not come without a price, unfortunately. KEY ISSUE The telecommunications industry provides a very competitive landscape. Change within the industry is as reliable as the sunrise. And as a catalyst of change within the landscape, T Mobile usually drives that change. T Mobile was the first to offer no service contracts, the first to offer unsubsidized phone plans, etc. As a byproduct of this, much is expected of the frontline employees. Frontline retail employees are measured by countless metrics. As most employees will attest, the key issue within T Mobile is the problems that arise when the focus of the business shifts too quickly. Granted, in a competitive landscape, those within the landscape have to adapt quickly. However, T Mobile doesn t necessarily put its frontline employees in the best position in order to succeed. While this will be discussed further in the next section, there is nothing more discouraging as a sales rep than to be given a goal to achieve, given little to no grace period for learning and practicing correct behaviors, and have the focus of the business shift just when reps were beginning to reinforce those behaviors. In turn, this would cause reps not to hit key performance indicators (KPIs). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The conclusion fo the poem leaves the reader in a depressed state knowing that no matter what the women in the poem does, she can never repay what her father has done for her. Causes Of Organized Crime Organized crime is threatening to our security and must be studied because of the abundance of instances in which these crimes are committed in this particular category of crime. Perpetrators of organized crime threaten not only the United States but it is also committed from the U.S. to other countries and vice versa; organized crime is committed against us and from us. These crimes stem from displaced peoples, which can be studied by looking through the ideologies of the social disorganization theory. Organized crime is a broad topic of crimes, there are strategies set out to prevent it, however, it is very hard to prevent a crime that can happen to anybody. Organized crime is defined as the unlawful activities of the members of a highly organized, disciplined association engaged in supplying illegal goods and services, including prostitution, gambling, loan sharking, narcotics, and labor racketeering (Pearson, 2017). The Federal Bureau of Investigations has a glossary of terms that fall into the category of organized crime; criminal enterprise is known as a group of individuals with an identified hierarchy, or comparable structure, engaged in significant criminal activity. The Consolation of Philosophy In book III of The Consolation of Philosophy, Boethius establishes the fact that God is the world s helmsman, the divine reason, the supreme good, the origin of all things. He demonstrates that God is omnipotent and omniscient. Nothing more superior can even be conceived of. Through the concept of unity, through which things basically become good, Boethius shows that God and happiness are one, the divine goodness. He concludes, God is the essence of happiness. (70) Book IV is the turning point in the theodicy, in the first chapter Boethius is truly puzzled by the presence of evil in the world. To further explain the idea that vice is often rewarded is only an appearance, Philosophy begins discussing punishment. She states that when criminals get punished, they receive something good. Punishment is rehabilitation, it turns someone bad to see the light of goodness, because punishment in itself is justice. It is when the perpetrators are not caught and brought to justice they endure the biggest punishment of all. Wickedness, is punishment for evil, therefore it is everlasting. So the wicked are much more unhappy when they are unjustly allowed to go scot free, than when a just punishment is imposed on them. (98) She even goes a bit further, as to say that kindness and sympathy is usually placed with the victim, where as it should be placed with the guilty. (100) Boethius views wickedness as sickness, like sick men being brought to the doctor, so that their guilt could be cut back by punishment like a malignant growth. (100) In another instance Boethius writes, evil is not so much an infliction as a deep set infection. (94) (may be cut one quote out?) As Boethius continues to deliberate upon the problem of good and evil, they come to the discussion of Providence and Fate. Philosophy begins by defining both and underlining the difference between them. She defines Providence as God s ultimate, unchanging plan, which is divine and eternal. Where as, Fate is the way things play out. Unlike Providence, Fate is subject to change and effected by fortune. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The motifs in Big Fish consisted of the ring that Edward used to catch the fish, the Witch s eye that showed Edward his death, the fish that Edward caught the day his son was born and the giant. An example of the Giants significance in the movie Big Fish was when he stated, You think this town is too small for you? This town is too small for my ambition. The giant in the small city of Ashton represents the big fish in a little pond analogy and Edward Bloom s ambition. These two men recorded their experiences during the voyage to share with people back in their home country of England. While Smith and Bradford traveled to the same place, their accounts were extremely dissimilar from each other.
